  1. Guilty of bringing disrepute to the gentleman's game, slammed by fans and eventually handed one-year bans, the tainted duo of Steve Smith and David Warner arguably underwent the toughest phase of their respective careers. The 2018 ball-tampering scandal saw the decorated Australian cricketers fall from grace owing to their respective roles in the heinous act. Thus, when the two cricketers took the field for their respective franchises, all eyes were on Smith and Warner to prove their mettle in the 2019 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). While Warner set the tournament on fire on the back of consistent performances for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), Smith, having struggled in the early stages, also found some form before reporting back for national duty ahead of the ICC World Cup. © Twitter/IPL The tainted duo was welcomed back to the Australian team as they joined the pre-World Cup camp. Their inclusion in the Australian brigade was never really a doubt, but everyone wanted to see how the two fallen stars would fare upon their return. Plying his trade in the first of three unofficial ODI games against New Zealand, Smith made an immediate impact when he pulled off a stunning one-handed catch to send Tom Latham packing. In the 33rd over, Jason Behrendorff bowled a length delivery that bounced off the surface, surprising Latham who couldn't stop the ball from looping in the air as Smith, after covering some ground, grabbed it inches off the ground with a one-handed diving effort. WHAT A CATCH! Steve Smith has still got it! pic.twitter.com/WWM280MEiy — cricket.com.au (@cricketcomau) May 6, 2019 Asked to bat, the Kiwis were undone by the Aussie pace battery as the likes of Behrendorff, Pat Cummins and Nathan Coulter-Nile picked three wickets apiece. After restricting New Zealand to 215 runs, the Aussies were aided by skipper Aaron Finch (52), Warner (39) and Smith (22) early on before Coulter-Nile's 36-ball 34 saved them the blushes with a narrow one-wicket win. He could catch them in his sleep.#easywork — Mark Waugh (@juniorwaugh349) May 6, 2019 Nice one smudge! 2. It's not brand new information that Bollywood has always been keen on remakes. They draw inspiration from Hollywood primarily or any other regional movie which has an interesting plot. Over the years we've seen many remakes and some of them have done quite well and the audience has loved the adaptations, without thinking that everything is copied scene to scene. Recently, we heard about another Bollywood remake underway that could be a very challenging role for Parineeti Chopra. A direct adaptation of 'A Girl On The Train' (2016) is in the pipeline and we're really excited about that one. The name though hasn't been decided yet, but we're sure Parineeti will do complete justice to her role. © Instagram There have been other remakes that are yet to release in India, and we can only hope they're as good or better than the original. Let's take a look: (1) Bollywood's Remake Of 'The Girl On The Train' © Universal Pictures Even though the name hasn't been decided for this one, it stars Parineeti Chopra. Ribhu Dasgupta will be helming this project and it's based on an American psychological mystery thriller. The original starred Emily Blunt, who played Rachel, an alcoholic divorcee, who gets dragged into a missing person's investigation. Emily won several award and nominations for the film, so naturally, expectations are quite high from Parineeti, who in all probability will play Emily's role in the film! The release is expected somewhere in 2020, as the film will hit the floor later this year. Hopping onto this thrilling ride! Excited to be a part of #TheGirlOnTheTrain's official Hindi remake.@ribhudasgupta @RelianceEnt @amblin #DreamWorksPictures #TheGirlOnTheTrain pic.twitter.com/0cNNzbc3IL — Parineeti Chopra (@ParineetiChopra) 24 April 2019 (2) Bollywood's Remake of 'Rambo' © Instagram Yes, you read that right! Sylvester Stallone's 'Rambo' is all set to be remade in Bollywood and do you happen to have any guesses who's been chosen to play Stallone? It's quite obvious isn't it? Yup, Tiger Shroff will do the honours and his look compared to Stallone's in the film is quite uncanny! View this post on Instagram A post shared by Tiger Shroff (@tigerjackieshroff) on May 25, 2017 at 7:05am PDT The film was said to be shelved as there were other projects in the pipeline for both Tiger and Sidharth Anand, the director, but now the movie is said to hit the floors by the end of this year and release sometime in 2020. Seriously, can't wait for this one to come out! (3) 'Dil Bechara'- Bollywood's Remake Of 'The Fault In Our Stars' © Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures Earlier, the film was named 'Kizie And Manny' but it was later changed to 'Dil Bechara'. If you haven't had a chance to watch 'The Fault In Our Stars', here's your chance to watch the remake instead. The director Mukesh Chhabra has roped in Sushant Singh Rajput and newcomer Sanjana Sanghi for the role. The original movie is based on a novel by John Greene, which was made into a Hollywood classic in 2014 by Josh Boone, starring Shailene Woodley and Ansel Elgort. The plot is based on a cancer patient who falls in love with an amputee. The music will be given by A.R. Rehman and we can say without a doubt this is definitely going to be THE love story flick of 2019. (4) Bollywood's Remake Of 'Red' © Summit Entertainment Anil Kapoor is all set to produce the Hindi remake of the Hollywood adventure film 'Red' which starred Bruce Willis, Morgan Freeman, John Malkovich, Helen Mirren, Karl Urban and Mary-Louise Parker. The plot for 'Red' revolved around a black-ops agent who reassembles his own team in a last-ditch effort to uncover assailants. Although the cast hasn't been announced for the remake, we would surely love to see Anil in the main role. The film will be directed by Abhinay Deo, the director for '24' and it's set to release sometime in 2020. (5) Bollywood's Remake Of 'Begin Again' © The Weinstein Company The Keira Knightley-Mark Ruffalo musical starrer 'Begin Again' will be in the making soon enough. Although the cast hasn't been announced yet, we do know it'll be directed by 'Veere Di Wedding' director Shashanka Ghosh. The basic plot revolves around telling a story about the world of music and fresh voices in sound in the Indian scene. Can't wait to see how this pans out! We're not sure when the movie is releasing yet but our money is on the year 2020. So, here we have it. 5 super-cool remakes currently in the pipeline. It's always great to draw inspiration from some good stories and if Bollywood happens to so that from time to time, it's a good thing. They shouldn't mess up the remake though by making it seem shoddy, because then you're just insulting the original film!
  3. While revamping utility and public structures has been the need of the hour, the New Delhi Railway Station can't be left untouched for long. Just a month ago, Mathura Railway Station got an absolutely new look and now it's time for Delhi to literally shine. The station was given an artsy feel, rich in culture and heritage and now every time we're catching a train from there, we'd be afraid to miss it, because it's done up quite elaborately and beautifully. The station building looks quite vibrant with some colourful patterns strewn across, with wall art and geometrical designs all over the ceilings. It really looks like we're amidst a colourful little cultural village. The station has also upgraded its public facilities like LED lights, escalators and LCD displays, all over. © Twitter The station will be equipped with solar panels for deriving energy from them and it'll be kept clean throughout. Well, Delhi isn't the only station that has been revamped. Apart from Mathura, there is also Haridwar, Jaipur and Lonavla. They've all been beatified and upgraded just as Delhi and Mathura. Railway Minister Piyush Goyal tweeted about the development of the station: बदलता भारत, बदलतॠरà¥à¤²à¤µà¥à¤ सà¥à¤µà¤¿à¤§à¤¾à¤¯à¥à¤, सà¥à¤µà¤à¥à¤à¤¤à¤¾ à¤à¤° सà¥à¤à¤¦à¤°à¥à¤¯ सॠभरा नठदिलà¥à¤²à¥ रà¥à¤²à¤µà¥ सà¥à¤à¥à¤¶à¤¨ à¤à¤¾ नया à¤à¤à¤°à¥à¤·à¤ रà¥à¤ª यातà¥à¤°à¤¿à¤¯à¥à¤ à¤à¥ à¤à¤ विशà¥à¤µà¤¸à¥à¤¤à¤°à¥à¤¯ रà¥à¤²à¤µà¥ सà¥à¤à¥à¤¶à¤¨ à¤à¤¾ à¤à¤¹à¤¸à¤¾à¤¸ à¤à¤°à¤¾ रहा हà¥à¥¤ pic.twitter.com/rUiirbwjDj — Piyush Goyal (@PiyushGoyal) 14 March 2019 The new look of the Railway station went down pretty well with most people and they took to Twitter to praise the efforts made by the Ministry of Railways and the Indian Railway Station Development Corporation. Or you can just check out these pictures here: © Twitter © Twitter © Twitter © Twitter © Twitter The Indian Railway Station Development Corporation (IRSDC), which is a special purpose vehicle (SPV) for revamping and developing such structures, will invest about Rs 7,500 crore, for redeveloping close to 50 railway stations across India. Simultaneously with that, they will also have a beatification drive alongside, which will entail paintings and art along the premises of the station. We're glad the Indian Railways are making an effort to revamp old stations and after airports, this was pretty much the need of the hour.
  4. Once again, the Indian bowling side looks to win the game for Virat Kohli as Yuzvendra Chahal, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Mohammed Shami are getting the best of the Kiwi batsmen early. Apart from the veteran in Ross Taylor who stuck around at the crease a lot longer than anyone else, no one, including the openers who disappointed their team yet again, was able to stay on the pitch for more than 15 minutes. However, the greatest highlight of the morning came at the hands of the brand new inclusion in the squad in Hardik Pandya who replaced the 28-year-old Vijay Shankar for the second and third ODIs. In the 17th over, with New Zealand captain Kane Williamson on strike, Chahal bowled a beautiful leg-spin to trap the skipper who, in an attempt to flick it over the long on, missed the spot. Unable to hit the ball with the centre of the bat, it travelled a shorter distance to the silly mid on and into the hands of a flying Hardik Pandya who was literally horizontal in the air during the catch. #teamindia #HardikPandya Awesome catch ... pic.twitter.com/41Ap3cQLJP — shankar more (@We_Indians_) January 28, 2019 What's more is that the Indian pacer rocked the catch with a perfect 'superhero landing' at the end. The Kiwis are all wrapped up for 243 in the third ODI as Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan come out to bat. India lead the league 2-0 in the five-match series.
  5. If the Indian Premier League (IPL) is considered to be one of the most lucrative T20 tournaments across the world, Australia's very own Big Bash League (BBL), too, continues to entice cricket fans with entertaining and exciting clashes over the years. From some breathtaking bowling spells to batting masterclass of marauding batsmen, the BBL has given cricket fans some of the greatest moments in the sport. Staying true to its nature, the eighth edition of the BBL is proving to be one of the best since the league's inception. More recently, the 29th match of the ongoing edition between Melbourne Renegades and Brisbane Heat, too, produced some priceless moments that enthralled pundits and spectators alike. Yes, Baz! While a massive 101-run triumph for Brisbane was already a talking point, the best, or should we say, the priceless moment of the game came through a fan in the stands at the Geelong Cricket Ground. A 16-year-old spectator produced one of the most cherished moments of the game in the 15th over when Lynn hit a massive six straight down the ground. Showing great determination, the youngster nearly pulled off what would've surely been the greatest catch in sporting history, but he just couldn't hold onto the ball which slipped in the last moment. Though he missed out on completing the catch, the youngster's effort was hailed by cricket fans across the globe. 6. In today's day and age, dating isn't that simple at all. There are many factors you need to keep a close check on and if they don't go in accordance then you've got to try way harder. Dating is all about making the girl know you're worth a catch because you're done with the bookish know-how on how to charm women and you rather just try it out the way you think you should. © Pintrest Apart from clichéd aspects, woman also look for other things in a man which eases their psyche and paves her way to be with someone who can understand her in this crazy rat race. So it's not just about good looks or a sense of humour or even the strength you carry in your arms. For her to see you're worth a catch today, it takes a lot more than these three pinnacles and once you have everything deliberated, it's a lot easier for you there. Here are three unthinkable things that will definitely make you a catch for her, any given day. (1) Be A Challenge You don't have to go all the way to impress her today. It's not 1950, where women were charmed by just your presence. It's a different time and an absolutely different kind of an effort you require to make her see you as a catch. First off, don't act extra smitten around her. If you've established contact with the woman you're interested in play, it slows from there. Let her see you as a challenge she needs to take up as well. © Pintrest Men who're usually experienced with how to get a women can't make it too easy for her and that's what attracts a woman. She should rather see you as a mysterious creature than someone who is out there trying his best to make things work. Work it slow with her and keep your actions limited to what you want from this. When she sees your very little attempt at wanting her, she'll truly come around. (2) Use Your Balls Well not literally because then that would be strange. What I mean is showcase confidence and charm when you can. Don't fall meek or start having performance malfunctions around her. If she sees you as a confident bloke who knows what he's doing and how he's doing it, she's definitely locked in because she's going to think she's lucky enough to meet a man who is sensitive yet confident and that's exactly what women are looking for in today's day and age. © Pintrest (3) Keep Your Conversations Balanced By balanced I mean don't be one of those who keep talking and move on with another conversation. Balancing a conversation is an art and if you get it right your game is strong. Don't ask too many questions while talking to her. You can start talking about what you need to know about her by maybe talking about it yourself. For instance, if you want to know where she went to college you can start by saying ''I went to college in Mumbai, where did you go"? This makes the conversation a lot more interactive and lighter. If you pose too many questions or pull the conversation towards yourself, she's going to lose interest and head the other way! © Pintrest These three things are fundamental in approaching women and getting to know them better without revealing too much of yourself to them. It helps build a base due to the curiousity you foster amongst the women you like to know and it makes approaching women rather friendly. So the next time you wish to maybe approach a woman, so she can see you as a damn fit catch, maybe try these three things out?
  7. The second edition of the Riders Music Festival has created waves ahead of its opening day on December 22 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Delhi. As much as it is a celebration of the biking community in the country, it is also a carnival that brings in other elements, like music “With the ever-evolving biking community and the increasing fad of motorcycles every year in our country, we believe there should be something for everybody,” believes Nisha Narayanan, COO RED FM. “What's better than to bring together an amalgamation of biking, music, grub and more for that perfect concoction to make your weekend a memorable one. Riders Music Festival was a huge success in its inception year in 2017. This year we look forward to the IP becoming bigger, better, and louder. Let the bikes roar & the music play,” she adds. Here are a few of the big Indian performers that you can catch live at this extravaganza. 1. Mame Khan The manganiyar singer is known for his expertise in traditional Folk and Sufi music. He is a former India's Got Talent contestant and found instant success with his rendition of the song Chaudhary for MTV India's music show Coke Studio. 2. Lucky Ali A cult star of the 90s, Lucky Ali barely needs any introduction to the generation that grew up listening to his songs and idolising him in those uber cool music videos. For the ones who are not well acquainted with him, check out a few of his tracks and prepare yourself to fall in love with his soulful brand of music. 3. Nucleya One of the biggest Indian DJs and mixers of this decade, Udyan Sagar became a countrywide phenomenon with his kitsch, bass-heavy sound that was immediately lapped up by the masses. His USP is a very distinct and unique usage of Indian street sounds that has earned him a reputation of someone who is bridging the gap between indie and mainstream in a way that few others have. 4. Divine Born with the name Vivian Fernandes, Divine's rise from the streets of Mumbai to India's coolest rap sensation has been nothing short of a dream. But behind the realisation of this dream have been many years of hard work that yielded superhit numbers like Yeh Mera Bombay and Mere Gully Mei. 5. Bhuvan Bam One of our cover stars for the month of December, Bhuvan Bam started his stage career as a musician in small-time Delhi restaurants. It took a back seat when he started making videos for his Youtube channel BB Ki Vines, but his first love has resurfaced with tracks like Safar and Sang Hoon Tere. And he's surely as good at singing as he is at other things.
  8. Online shopping has now become an integral part of our life with Amazon leading the way. Whether it's a Rs 100 coffee pouch or Rs 1,00,000 smartphone, everything is available online. With urban life getting even more stressful due to a population boom and crumbling infrastructure, more and more people are opting to do their holiday shopping online instead of walking into a brick and mortar store. This explosion in online shopping has led to "porch pirates" and "stoop surfers" who swipe holiday packages from unsuspecting residents. In the USA, the courier delivery is often left on the porch or mailbox when someone isn't present to physically accept it. © Reuters To counter these thieves, Police in Jersey City have been placing fake Amazon packages outside people's homes to catch thieves. These Amazon packages are insight of cameras near the home and also equipped with GPS devices to track the robber's movements. Police and Amazon picked locations for the sting operation using Jersey City crime statistics and maps of theft locations provided by Amazon. Jersey City police captain James Crecco, who is overseeing the mission, told the AP it only took three minutes for one bait package to be stolen earlier this week. “We thought it was a mistake at first,” he said, adding that the suspect was caught. © AP News Exact figures on porch thefts are hard to come by though. Amazon uses its own logistics network as well as relies on UPS and FedEx for last-mile delivery. Unfortunately, all the concerned companies have declined to share figures. Amazon is offering the necessary equipment for free to the Jersey City program. “Most of the package thefts we've made arrests on revolving around (closed-circuit TV) or private surveillance cameras that give us a still image,” Jersey City Police Chief Michael Kelly said. “With the bait packages, some will be under video surveillance, and some will have GPS.” © Reuters The Jersey City police hope to catch thieves before they snatch up someone's holiday gifts. The program has undergone legal review and was approved by the local prosecutor. To prevent theft, users also have the option of purchasing a parcel box that allows only the owner and delivery person access. Amazon Key Smart Lock is one such product and has proven to be useful on most occasions. Source: AP News
  9. Last week, Virat Kohli lost his wicket in the first innings of the 1st Test between India and Australia at the Adelaide Oval after Usman Khawaja pulled off an absolute blinder in the gully region. On 14th December, the Indian captain produced a gem of a fielding effort of his own during the first day's play in Perth. Trailing 0-1 in the four-match series, Australia were eager to put their best foot forward when they won the toss and decided to bat first in the 2nd Test. The likes of Aaron Finch (50) and Marcus Harris (70) gave the hosts a solid start, adding 112 runs for the first wicket. But, the likes of Jasprit Bumrah, Umesh Yadav and Hanuma Vihari struck in quick succession to ensure the Aussies were left reeling at 134/3. This was the time when Peter Handscomb (7) came to the crease to partner Shaun Marsh (45) in a bid to stabilise the innings for the hosts. The duo had added 14 runs for the fourth wicket when Ishant Sharma got Handscomb to edge the ball through to the slip cordon where Kohli - fielding at second slip - deployed a full stretch towards his right, with both his feet off the ground, before plucking it in the air with a one-handed effort. According to CricViz Fielding Impact—which measures the value of fielding by considering the difficulty of the fielding event and the run value of the event (which varies according to the batsman)—Virat Kohli's catch was worth +23.50 runs to India. #AUSvIND — Freddie Wilde (@fwildecricket) December 14, 2018 Following Kohli's commendable fielding effort to send Handscomb packing, Australia managed to find some rhythm in the crucial 84-run partnership between Marsh and Travis Head (58) for the fifth wicket. But, Vihari and Ishant struck again to send the two dangerous-looking batsmen back into the hut. On a day where the batsmen looked relatively at ease against the Indian bowlers, Australia scored 277 runs at the loss of six wickets in 90 overs on the first day in Perth. With Tim Paine (16*) and Pat Cummins (11*) at the crease, the Indian team will be eager to bowl the hosts out as quickly as possible before coming out to bat on the second day. 12. Reading a girl is the most challenging thing you can ever do, but once you read her well and understand the subtle hints she drops your way, it'll become a lot easier for you to decipher how and what she thinks. © UTV Motion Pictures Reading a girl can be tough because there are numerous layers of intricacies you have to unfold, before you really get to what she's thinking most times, but if you evade these hints and signs she's giving out, more often than not you miss out on a lot (even at a probable chance of dating her). No, don't get me wrong, she's not that complicated. She's just apprehensive most times to be read out loud by someone, so she hides beneath layers of guesswork. But if you can crack the code of reading her the right way, she will actually fall for you instead, because you've achieved the impossible! You've actually read her right! Here are a few ways to read the girl you like and eventually end up possibly dating her: (1) Silence Is Usually Unusual If she's silent around you, then it's sort of unusual because a girl who is into you will try and make conversation with you, no matter what. If she's silent, it could either mean she's upset over something related to you or she needs you to give her attention. Whatever it is, she's not going to be open about it, so ask her what the matter is upfront and she will come around eventually. (2) When She Says 'I Don't Want To Talk About It', It's Probably False Of course, it's false. Yes, girls like talking about what's bothering them, but she won't open up instantly. It's not because she's trying to act pricey but it takes a lot of courage for her to open up. And when she does, it's a smooth sail from there. So, if something is bothering her and she says she doesn't feel like talking about it, ask her a couple of times until she does want to talk about it. But don't make her uncomfortable or try and pry and force her to talk. Sit with her and be patient and she will open up. (3) She'll Always Have Her Eyes On You Not in a creepy or prying sort of way but if you two are ever in a conversation, she will always look into your eyes and speak. If you're just getting to know each other and are having an intimate conversation, follow her eyes and see where they're looking. If they're on you throughout, then she's quite into you. If she's looking at everything else but your eyes, then she's not really that into you or is genuinely uncomfortable talking to you. (4) She'll Laugh Even If It's Not Funny Yup, it's an inherent trait that women can't control. If she digs you and you crack one of your lame ass jokes, she'll still laugh like it's the funniest thing she's heard all day. That's a sure shot way of knowing she really likes you. Come on, even you know how bad your jokes can be, right? If she doesn't laugh and smirks instead, then you don't need to continue your jokes further, she's really not that deep into you! (5) She'll Make An Effort To Casually Touch You That, in no way, is inappropriate and quite common if the girl is into you. She will make efforts to touch you, by grazing your arms or your shoulder with her hands or even giving you a gentle nudge while in a conversation with you. She'll do this consciously to see if she can feel a spark between the two of you and obviously, to break the ice and tell you she's comfortable around you. So, if you do notice these subtle signs when you're with someone you're interested in, you've read her just right and it's a good cue for you to make a move on her.
  13. The new iPhone Xs and Xs Max have dual SIM standby. In the normal world, this would mean that you have a SIM tray that can house two SIM cards. But this conventional method doesn't work in the Apple world. Sure, Apple will release a similar dual-SIM variant, but it will be restricted to China. In every other country, you'll need an eSIM to actually use the dual SIM support. What Is An eSIM? eSIM is an Embedded-Subscriber Identity Module, in simpler terms, the physical SIM card that we use daily is digitally embedded into the system, hence no physical card is necessary. With this technology, you omit the need for a physical card, and while this is definitely the future of telecommunication, it requires support from carriers. © Apple Currently, only Reliance Jio and Airtel support eSIM functionality in India. With this, it is easier for you to port to a new operator, as the system changes can be done digitally, and no new SIM needs to be activated. With the new iPhone Xs and Xs Max, you can easily insert one physical SIM card like you've always had, but to use the dual SIM capability, the second connection will have to plug via the eSIM. So, while Apple has, for the first time, given us a much-required feature, it does come with a lot of SIMs attached! © Apple Why Use An eSIM? An eSIM is even smaller than a nano-SIM card, hence it takes up lesser space. Also, with eSIMs, you don't have to worry about keeping a physical tray. Remember the days when batteries used to be swappable? Majority phones cannot be opened today, and in the same way, we should soon see an end to swapping SIM cards. © Apple An eSIM also helps in quickly porting carriers because they can be remotely activated. The adoption of this technology has been rather slow because hardly any company has pushed it to actual use. Apple Watch LTE uses this same technology, so does Google's Pixel 2 (the USA only). With the iPhones getting eSIM support, we expect more phone makers, as well as carriers, to adopt it. Once the technology gains wider acceptance, travelling internationally will also become easier. No need to keep a track of SIM cards, your new number will be directly sent to your iPhone and you are good to go. Neat right?
  14. Flying drones in India has been a painstaking task for enthusiasts as proper guidelines have never been issued up until now. This industry was mostly in the grey area and even local authorities had no clue how to deal with it. Thankfully the Ministry of Civil Aviation has finalised a new drone policy which is set to become legal in India starting December 1. The DGCA (Director General of Civil Aviation) has framed the new policy that is applicable to Remotely piloted aircraft (RPA). The policy defines an RPA as an unmanned aircraft, which is piloted from a remote pilot station - simply meaning a drone. Press Release on Drones: pic.twitter.com/6ZlPeLJpxB — Ministry of Civil Aviation (@MoCA_GoI) August 27, 2018 The policy classifies drones into multiple categories according to their weight. A 'Nano' category drone weighs lesser or equal to 250gms, a 'Micro' drone weighs between 250gms and 2kg, a 'Small' drone weights between 2kg and 25kg, a 'Medium' drone weighs more than 25kg but lesser than 150kg and lastly a 'Large' drone that weighs more than 150kg. Except for Nano drones, every other category operator needs to go through a one-time registration process. After the registration, users will have to request for permission to fly it on a mobile application. An automated process will take into consideration your flight plan and permit or deny the request instantly. © Reuters DGCA is calling this new drone management and coordination platform the Digital Sky Platform. Once the owner and operator are registered, drone pilots can simply file a flight plan, and put in a request for take-off. The policy is crystal clear in stating "No permission, no takeoff", strictly meaning that you can start your flight only after receiving permission. Drones also cannot be flown within 5kms of the perimeters of the airports in Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad and within 3km from the perimeter of any other airport. Other prohibited areas include sensitive areas like Vijay Chowk in Delhi, military establishments, and within 25km from the international border. © CNN Also, the newly published policy specifies that flying can be done only during the day within a visual line-of-sight and the maximum altitude ceiling is 400 feet. Areas which are controlled airspaces need an Air Defence Clearance (ADC)/Flight Information Centre (FIC) number before receiving approval. Considering the Nano category in detail, even the DJI Spark weighs 300gms while the larger Mavic 2 Pro goes up till 900gms. For now, you'll have a tough time finding an ultra-light drone that can be flown for 'fun'. Also, these drones can be flown freely without permission only up to 50 feet. For educational institutes, the norms are relaxed and a permission isn't required for drones up till 2kg and an altitude allowance of 200 feet. © DigitalTrends This is just the first step our country is taking to legalise and regulate drones. We expect more changes to follow soon and the system can be rated only after it goes live. Thankfully the new policy has brought in much-needed transparency in operation of drones.
