  1. We all had limitless aspirations when we were all kids. Some of us aspired to be doctors, engineers, scientists, actors etc. But kids nowadays are a lot more innovative with their career choices and make sure they voice them out as creatively as they should. © Twitter/ANI Meet Abeer Magoo, a nine-year-old student of class IV, who has an avid interest in aviation and wants to be a pilot when he grows up. His interest in aviation, flying and aeroplanes is so pronounced that he loves making models of different airports and collecting miniature aeroplanes. And recently, he put in all his hard work and created a replica of Delhi's Indira Gandhi International airport, his favourite amongst all, and it's quite something. His uncle, Amit Agarwal, went on to Twitter to share his nephew's hard work and everyone loved it. Hand made @DelhiAirport by my 10yr nephew. A true #avgeek in the makingâï¸ pic.twitter.com/bZZN9Gnl3a — Amit Agarwal (@AmitAgarwal22) 18 May 2019 “He has been doing it since he was five. We were going somewhere when he saw a woman pilot and wanted to be like her. He then started to collect aircraft models. He would only pick them and not toys. We now realise that this is his calling.”- Abeer's mother told Times of India in an interview. This surely took a lot of time and patience for Abeer to construct because the attention to detail is flawless. Which also means, he's thoroughly studied the structure inside out, before creating it, and he's just 9. © Twitter Apart from the peeps on Twitter admiring his model and complimenting him on his talent, the replica caught the attention of DIAL CEO Videh Kumar Jaipuriar, who extended an invite to young Abeer, to celebrate his 10th birthday at IGI airport, Delhi. That's the sweetest gesture, ever! Dear Amit, as Abeer turns 10 on the 10th of June, we wanted to give him a 10/10 for his fabulous model of #DelhiAirport. Scheduling an airport tour with the #AvGeek prodigy soon. Dear Amit, as Abeer turns 10 on the 10th of June, we wanted to give him a 10/10 for his fabulous model of #DelhiAirport. Here's what Twitter thinks about his model: Simply f(ly)antastic ðâï¸ — Arun Yedery (@andyyrao) 19 May 2019 Wow : Beautiful work there in Such a small age ! Looks like he is on your path to become another strong AVGeek ð — Dipalay Dey (@dipalay) 18 May 2019 Woah! Tell him from me that this is the best airport I've ever seen. — Harleen / ‏حرÙÛÙ (@VeiledDesires_) 19 May 2019 You kidding me! He's an artist already. Don't let his mind divert every to anything beyond #aviation No Sir, not at all! 𦸠— Harry #TheHustlerð (@Harryrockerz) 20 May 2019 Great job.. Deserves appreciation and reward Needs to be focused at in international level as a mark of encouragement and recognition! — Manoshi (@Manoshi92828635) 5 June 2019
  2. Prime Minister Narendra Modi once again secured the nation's throne with a thumping victory, as BJP single-handedly won more than 300 seats in the Lok Sabha Elections 2019. World leaders like US President Donald Trump conveyed his wishes over the phone and tweeted, “India is lucky to have him”. While some people are ecstatic about Modi's victory and are celebrating it the right way, some of his supporters are demanding that tech companies to immediately make the 'Lotus' emoji. Wow! © Reuters Yes, BJP supporters have decided to raise their voice on social media and are asking big names like Google, Apple, WhatsApp, and even Twitter to release a 'Lotus' emoji, which they can use to celebrate the party's historic victory and show their support. Dear @Apple & @WhatsApp We Indians want to see “lotus” symbol in emojis please - as soon as possible - its symbol of purity and today @BJP4India with its lotus symbol has purified #India from dynastic rule of @INCIndia (Like & RT to support please ðð») #ModiPhirSe — The Ordinary Indian (@i_m_tomorrow) May 23, 2019 This isn't the only tweet asking for a Lotus emoji, There are a ton of other users who are going crazy across different platforms demanding a 'Lotus' emoji. While we agree that there's no 'Lotus' emoji on Android or iOS at the moment, and we understand the enthusiasm, it's worth pointing out that it's not that easy to make and release an emoji. There's a huge procedure that needs to be followed for getting an emoji released for public use. It has to go through the Unicode Consortium, which approves reviews and approves only about 50-100 new emojis every year. Well, let's just wait and see if these companies can make it happen and how.
  3. Jawed Habib is a name that needs no introduction. He is one of the finest hairstylists the nation (and the world) has ever seen. But, today, Habib needs a proper introduction because he isn't just a celebrity hairstylist anymore. Jawed Habib has now become a politician after he joined the Bharatiya Janata Patry (BJP) in New Delhi, on Monday. In case you haven't noticed the trend already, these days everyone is adding 'Chowkidaar' to their names, thanks to PM Modi's 'Mai Bhi Chowkidaar' campaign. © Twitter Taking a cue from the same, Habib said that he has now been promoted to the post of 'chowkidaar', of the country. He said, "Aaj tak main bus baalon ka chowkidaar tha, aaj main desh ka ho gya hoon." 'Baalon Ka Chowkidaar', now that's quite an analogy you've made there Mr Habib, and given how much people trust you with their hair, we can completely agree with you. © Twitter According to reports, he further added "I am happy to join the BJP as I have seen the changes brought in the country by Prime Minister Modi in the last five years. I think nobody should be ashamed of their background. When the Prime Minister is proud to state that he was a 'chaiwala' then why should I be ashamed of calling myself a 'nai' (barber)?" While Habib has just joined BJP, people on Twitter have already started imagining the possible changes that can come in the hairstyles of PM Modi and that of the other BJP leaders. We didn't want to laugh (honestly), but these memes are epic and the people behind them deserve an award for their bizzare imagination: After #JawedHabib Joins #BJP Today.. 4. One of the leading ladies of international cricket and Kiwi superstar Hayley Jensen and her fellow athlete from Down Under, Nicola Hancock decided to make their cricketing partnership last a lifetime, as the couple tie the knot last weekend. Having been teammates for two straight seasons for Australia's Big Bash League franchise, Melbourne Stars, the couple saw a lot of individual success in the T20 league. While Jensen, an all-rounder, won the prestigious Una Paisley medal for being Victoria Women's Premier Cricket league's best player of the 2017-18 season, Hancock finished the latest season of the BBL as her squad's second-highest wicket-taker with 13 scalps in 14 games with an average of 19.92. The official news of the wedding was broken online by Hancock's team last evening: From #TeamGreen, congratulations to Stars bowler Nicola Hancock who married her partner Hayley Jensen last weekend! ðpic.twitter.com/QvWb7Ue0Qx — Melbourne Stars (@StarsBBL) April 18, 2019 "From #TeamGreen, congratulations to Stars bowler Nicola Hancock who married her partner Hayley Jensen last weekend!" the picture was captioned. Australia legalised same-*** marriage in December 2017 while New Zealand granted it the royal assent way back in 2013. However, as soon as the wedding pictures were available online, homophobia took over with the blink of an eye and flooded the team's twitter handle with slurs demeaning same-*** marriage: It isn't ryt — NITESH KUMAR (@nkojha9060) April 19, 2019 Challenge to Natural law — Kapil Kumar (@KapilKu03594795) April 19, 2019 Oh no It is unnatural marrige I think human is very beg animals — बà¥à¤°à¥à¤à¤à¤¾à¤° मà¥à¥à¤®à¥à¤®à¤¿à¤² फारà¥à¤à¥ (@MuzzammilFar) April 19, 2019 What a great indecent choice this sodomy women make to defile themselves — Joshua (@Joshua3059) April 18, 2019 If all girls will marry to each other then what will happen with boys or u can say who will marry with boys. Maybe that is the question that needs to be answered now. With the LGBTQ community being welcomed into society with open arms, why is it that marriage, a gesture to celebrate love, needs for the people involved to “prepare themselves”? Do straight couples need to worry about the kind of criticism that they might face from society after they get married? Sure, homosexuality has become a part of the world that we live in and sure people now have the right to identify themselves as “gay”, but normalising it, in our mundane lives, is something that continues to be our "to-do” list
  5. 'Avengers: Endgame' is so appropriately named; it really is the end of an era and it will also be the end of us Marvel fans, for sure. This is probably the last time we'll see all the OG Avengers together for the last time and everyone's already emotional about it and we haven't even lost our favourite characters forever yet. Since it's such an emotionally draining month, someone decided to remember the entire Marvel cast - who are basically BFFs now - in the best way possible. Twitter user @colonelrhodes(twitter.com/coIonelrhodes/ ) compiled a long list of just the entire Marvel cast being wild and fun together while filming their movies, during the press tour and promotions, and on the red carpet and it's just the best Twitter thread to exist, tbh. 6. The nation lost over 40 bravehearts last month, when a JeM suicide bomber rammed explosives-laden car into a CRPF bus in Pulwama, Jammu and Kashmir. People haven't forgotten that terrorist attack, nor will they ever. Post Pulwama, people from across the world are coming together to wipe tears of the family members of the martyred jawans. © Reuters The country was painted red last month with blood, and now when the festival of colours is here, the CRPF has decided that there will be no 'official celebrations' of Holi this year in the force, to pay respect to the jawans martyred in Pulwama. CRPF Director General (DG) RR Bhatnagar, said this during an event to mark the 80th raising day of the force in Gurgaon. © Reuters Reportedly, the DG also said that in order to better equip the troops during a combat, they are obtaining advanced weapons and gadgets that include Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), light bullet proof jackets, rifles, ground penetrating radars and signal jammers gunshot locators. In fact, while paying tribute to the personnel who lost their lives, the CRPF chief also said that the force is creating a 'mobile app' to provide help to the families of martyred jawans.

  8. Back in 1909, the Socialist Party of America designated 28th February as the first National Women's Day to honour the 1908 garment workers' strike in New York, where the women protested against working conditions. That day, marked a new chapter in the lives of women and, in 1975, when the United Nations began celebrating International Women's Day on 8th March, as it helped create a historic legacy of internationally-agreed strategies, standards and programmes to advance the status of women globally. Since then, the date 8th March has been a focal point in the movement for women's rights. And, this year's International Women's Day has proved to be no different. There has been a plethora of celebratory messages on social media platforms and, needless to mention the inspirational 'Google Doodle', all celebrating the achievements of women in different fields. Joining the bandwagon, India's limited-overs vice-captain - Rohit Sharma - also stressed on the need to celebrate the day with unmatched fervour and love, like any other festival. Definitely my mother, who has nurtured me over the years and kept me very safe, to my sisters as well," said Yuvraj. Apart from Rohit and Yuvraj, India's death-overs specialist Jasprit Bumrah, too, shared his views on International Women's Day. “I always feel women are way above men. They always give me strength, they always give me confidence. So, I am very happy to have them in my life. During any situation, they never feel weak. They are always there in tough times, in happier times,” said Bumrah.

The kind of solidarity Abhinandan's homecoming evoked in the entire nation could be felt in waves over the last 48 hours. The intensity of pride, hope and gratitude that exuded from the hundreds of people gathered at the Wagah-Attari border earlier today, waiting there for hours on end with bated breath to welcome their hero back, was palpable even through the recordings. While many danced to the beats of dhol and shouted cries of welcome, all of India's hearts beat as one until their own was safely back on Indian soil. IAF Wing Commander #AbhinandanVarthaman at Wagah-Attari border, to cross border soon to enter India. pic.twitter.com/a1hVjwroVw — ANI (@ANI) March 1, 2019 Even as scores of people came together to cheer for Abhinandan today, the subtext of political gains and acquisitions kept running strong in the backdrop, never too lazy to ease out of public glare. A known politico from down south made claims about the ruling government's chances of winning by a majority in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections following the airstrike on 26th February, while Pakistan's leaders claim to be handing over Abhinandan as a 'gesture of peace' to prevent further escalation of the ongoing tensions between the two countries. As if all that wasn't enough, amidst this turmoil, there's a certain segment of people rooting for a war to break out between India and Pakistan. Visuals from Attari-Wagah border; Wing Commander #AbhinandanVarthaman to be received by a team of Indian Air Force. pic.twitter.com/C4wv14AEAd — ANI (@ANI) March 1, 2019 Honestly, it's difficult to understand such motivations given that such a situation has never benefitted nations. History stands witness to the fact that war has robbed countries of not just manpower, but it immediately disrupts economies, renders the environment inept but the loss of human life and property is enough to set a country back by a couple of years, besides a host of other things which involve draining monetary as well as human resources of a country. But I am not here to elucidate on the havoc wars can wreck on society, but I am merely trying to point out that politicizing a tragedy (that this could have turned out to be) is the last thing we need right now. This moment purely belongs to Abhinandan for what he endured for our nation and its safety, what he stood for in the moments of his captivity and how he came through it all by the end of it. So, let this be his moment, one he will not forget till his last breath. Let's not steal his thunder today. I salute you India's son #Abhinandan #WelcomeHomeAbhinandan pic.twitter.com/xuz8mVrRz7 — Rahulkrishnan (@SRahulkrishnan) March 1, 2019 Meanwhile, a family is whole once again, a squad got their mate back, and the country welcomed a great soldier back in its forces. As for the rest of us in the country, following the news updates on TV and social media, writing and commenting on Abhinandan's homecoming, we have found a hero in the IAF pilot. Abhinandan has turned into an inspiration for us, not only for his display of selflessness, valour and principles, under given circumstances, but he has allowed us to peek into the life of a dedicated protector of the nation, who deserves nothing less than our absolute respect, gratitude and appreciation. Welcome back, Wing Commander Varthaman!
  10. It's that time of the year again where the city is decked up in pinks and reds, and while most people enjoy the 'love' displayed all over, some are significantly indifferent or not so savvy towards it. It's a choice really. Even for couples who'd just like to spend Valentine's Day without any cupid-induced festivities and treat the day just like any normal day. For single people, Valentine's Day can be a little rough or unremarkable. Either you feel bad about the fact that you don't have anyone to spend the day with or you're happy in your skin, feeling content with yourself, all the time. © Netflix Whatever it is, we have a rebellious remedy for the Val Day naysayers out there. The remedy is simple. Just drag yourself to a couch or your bed, alone or with a significant other and watch these 5 shows that are absolutely anti-candy hearts and sugary cupid and not at all Valentine friendly, and re-live a normal non-cheesy day: (1) The Umbrella Academy © Netflix Hollywood star Ellen Page and music legend Mary J Blige star in this hot new superhero series fresh out on Netflix. The Hargreeves children have never-seen-before superpowers but their dysfunctional family soon falls apart. Now they must reunite to save the world. It is based on the highly popular comic and award-winning graphic novel by Gerard Way (front man, My Chemical Romance) and Gabriel BA with Steve Blackman (Fargo S2) as the show runner. Watch the trailer here (2) Fyre: The Greatest Party That Never Happened © Netflix Netflix's latest documentary takes on the luxury festival created by Billy McFarland and rapper Ja Rule. Fyre was promoted as a luxury music festival on a private island in the Bahamas featuring bikini-clad supermodels, A-List musical performances and posh amenities. Guests arrived to discover the reality was far from the promises. This behind-the-scenes look by Charles Smith is the much-needed reality check you may need on your 'let's rebel Valentine's Day' day. Watch the trailer here (3) *** Education © Netflix Choose *** and self-love this V-Day. An inexperienced socially-awkward high school student Otis Milburn lives with his mother, a *** therapist. Thanks to being surrounded by manuals and TMI conversations on ***, he starts an underground *** therapy clinic for his classmates. This British comedy series has received acclaim for being a smart, sensitive at teenagers trying to find themselves and being comfortable with their bodies and sexuality. It is recently renewed for a second season, so catch up the first one soon. Watch the trailer here (4) Marvel's The Punisher S2 © Netflix Replace romance with a desire for some revenge! Marvel's The Punisher is back with another season. After seeking revenge for his family's death, Frank Castle saves a girl from murder making himself a target. His old enemies now force the war veteran to confront whether he should accept his destiny and embrace life as The Punisher. Watch the trailer here (5) The Good Place S2 © Netflix Welcome. Everything is just fine - now that season 2 is here! Kristin Bell plays Eleanor Shellstrop a selfish 'bad' person, who by some glitch, has arrived in heaven ie the Good Place in her afterlife. But is the Good Place actually that good? Season 1 was a laugh riot and season 2 takes Eleanor and her friend's escapades further! This one is to watch with your gang. Watch the trailer here So, without much further lament on how to spend the 14th of February, cue these or one of these series and sit back and have some fun, you've been avoiding since a while. Ps: Happy Valentine's Day!
  11. 12. Team India claimed victory against New Zealand in the ODI series by 4-1, after winning the 5th ODI by 35 runs. India's victory filled the stadium with cheers for the team and Shikhar Dhawan concluded the celebrations in the coolest way possible. If India's victory on Kiwi soil after 10 years wasn't great enough, Shikhar Dhawan's dance just made it more special for everyone present on the ground and those watching it on TV. Twitter/ Circle Of Cricket Dhawan, who was also the second highest scorer after Ambati Rayudu in the series, was walking on the ground after the post-match presentation when he suddenly stopped and started doing the Bhangra on the beats of Bharat Army's dhol. 13. Christmas is the season of joy and togetherness, a time when our homes are decorated, the tree is decked up and the family gets together to celebrate a time full of love. However, not everyone is lucky enough to have family or a place to call 'home' and that's where the humanitarian heroes of the world come into the picture. The Sikh community has always led by example when it comes to serving the world, and the amazing people and volunteers at UK's 'Langar Seva Society' organised a festive dinner for the homeless and even distributed gifts to ensure that the festival was celebrated together. They had a Santa Claus, carol singers but most impotantly, hearts full of warmth which ensured that the Chrsitmas party was exactly what the festive season was all about; joy, love and a sense of belongingness. This world and of all humanity still have hope in the form of beautiful people, who inspire us everyday to become a better version of ourselves.
  14. 16. When two UP cops went on an encounter in Sambhal district, they did not just come back with the criminals, they gave the internet a meme-orable term that people won't forget anytime soon. We're talking about the iconic 'Thain Thain' that a cop shouted out as a last resort, when the pistol got jammed during an operation to catch the goons. #WATCH: Police personnel shouts 'thain thain' to scare criminals during an encounter in Sambhal after his revolver got jammed. ASP says, 'words like 'maaro & ghero' are said to create mental pressure on criminals. Cartridges being stuck in revolver is a technical fault'. (12.10) pic.twitter.com/NKyEnPZukh — ANI UP (@ANINewsUP) October 13, 2018 The cop's 'presence of mind' gave him fame and a bravery award recommendation, while also giving the internet a string of hilarious memes. It also gave a YouTuber an idea to replace the word with the gun sounds in 'Counter-Strike'. But most importantly, it gave a bunch of genius people an idea to celebrate Diwali in an eco-friendly way. We're not even close to joking when we say that a group of people are planning to gather in Connaught Place, just to shout 'Thain Thain' to celebrate an eco-friendly Diwali. The event is being hosted by 'The Wander Bottle'. Facebook The event page says, "We request you all to mark your presence in Central Park at 5 pm and shout "Thain, Thain" to celebrate eco-friendly Diwali." Honestly, I don't know what's crazier, the fact that there's a legit event page on Facebook or the fact that I am actually contemplating going there to shout 'thain thain'.
