  1. Even when the entire nation is divided, there's only one thing that can unite us all - memes! Like every year, we are fondly looking back at the most important thing of the passing year and here's the best 2018 recap ever! 1. Priya Prakash Varrier No one would've ever thought that it would only take one wink to become an overnight sensation in the country, but Priya Prakash Varrier came and did it so effortlessly. Everyone fell in love with her and her wink and she soon became the biggest person on the desi internet. Priya Prakash Varrier gave all types of expression in that two minutes what Katrina kaif couldn't give in her entire Bollywood career. — Akshay (@AkshayKatariyaa) February 11, 2018 Priya Prakash Varrier surpassed bitcoin in terms of gaining momentum. #PriyaPrakashVarrier — Lakshya Patel (@007_lakshya) February 11, 2018 *SAKHT LAUNDE to pighal Gaye...* But *Who did this* #PriyaPVarrier #PriyaPrakashVarrier #PriyaPrakash #NarendraModi #sakhtlaunda #cutegirls #Valentinesweek pic.twitter.com/wsFNDRlc1R — Abhishek Joshi (@itsmeabjoshi) February 11, 2018 2. Infinity War The biggest crossover ever! 'Avengers: Infinity War' was an entirely different experience and a truly incredible one. But, with every talked about thing comes memes about it because that's just how the internet works and Marvel gave us so many new ones. From people coming up with their own biggest crossovers to giving out the plot without any spoilers to the dusting meme, Infinity War was really a gift that kept on giving. Race 3 'Our business is our business, none of your business' - a line I could never read or hear without cringing, but it's a little too much now, after months. This movie was honestly such a joke, and I didn't even have to watch it to know that. So it's only appropriate it's treated like one online. I kind of feel bad for Daisy Shah but well, she had it coming as soon as she said that dreaded line. View this post on Instagram A must have in your library! Sanju What a movie! No one can deny that 'Sanju' and Ranbir Kapoor were one of the biggest Bollywood highlights of the year and of course that came with a bunch of memes about Ranbir as Sanjay Dutt, especially during the scene of him shooting 'Munna Bhai MBBS'. Chai Pi Lo Aunty Honestly, no one remembers where she came from and no one knows where she went, but she made sure that we will never ever forget her. A woman named Somvati Mahawar took the desi internet by storm by just saying 'Hello friends, chai pi lo….garam hai', and that was it, a meme was born. Rahul Gandhi Hugging Modi This was a twist no one saw coming. Rahul Gandhi hugged PM Narendra Modi? What? Are we in an alternate timeline? (Well, that last one would explain so much if it was true.) Well, that did happen, to everyone's surprise, and RaGa went as far as to wink at PM Modi. Taking a little inspiration from Priya Prakash Varrier, are we? Sacred Games The first Indian Netflix Original obviously had to cause an uproar everywhere. Everyone binge-watched the entire thing as soon as it came out, everyone kept talking about it for months, and if you didn't finish it in one day, you were left behind. Radhika Apte And Netflix This year, Radhika Apte was everywhere on Netflix India, one would even say she was…omnipresent. The love affair between Radhika and Netflix became a long-running joke with Netflix fully embracing it and even changing their social media accounts to Radhika Apte fanpages and releasing the poster of the much anticipated Netflix, sorry I mean Radflix, original 'Omnipresent', which not only stars Radhika Apte, but is also written and directed by her. DeepVeer Wedding Imma let you finish, but Deepika and Ranveer had the most iconic wedding of the year. The anticipation, the way they made the entire country wait for the pictures and then the actual, beautiful pictures - everything was great. Ranveer and Deepika know how to make everyone desperately wait for even a glimpse of their wedding, but in the process, that wait and then the actual pictures turned into a meme. Omg. 2. Actor Anupam Kher deserves a special mention in the list of celebrity doppelgangers. Why? Because after his next movie, people won't be able to differentiate between him and former prime minister Dr. Manmohan Singh. Instagram We're talking about his upcoming movie 'The Accidental Prime Minister' and the uncanny resemblance he shares with the former PM. Instagram Anupam Kher, who has been constantly updating his fans about the movie on social media, recently shared this BTS video from the film sets, on the last day of their shoot. In the video, Kher is seen dressed as Dr. Manmohan Singh, sipping chai with on-screen Sonia Gandhi, Suzanne Bernert. Instagram What's the best way to stop spoilers from getting circulated? Share it yourself and Anupam Kher did exactly that. He wrote, "On the sets of 'The Accidental Prime Minister' somebody quietly shoots a candid moment between Suzanne Bernert playing Mrs Sonia Gandhi and I having tea and biscuits and shares it on social media. Now it is already on TV channels. So the best option is to share it myself. So here it is. 3. In his time as Prime Minister, Modi Ji has blessed the nation with a string of awesome thoughts and strategies, while also displaying his knack for injecting humour in almost everything he expresses. World leaders look up to him and he definitely deserves the credit for putting India on a pedestal for the world to see. However, despite all the grandness and achievements, sometimes, even our beloved icons become a victim of an innocent faux pas, and that's exactly what happened to our dear Prime Minister. Recently, while addressing a gathering, PM Modi was sharing his thoughts and his theory on how one can use sewage water and the evaporation of water from a 'chai' vessel to produce...wait for it...biogas! 4. When most of us were stuck in traffic and cribbing about travelling from Delhi to Gurugram, some people were busy confessing their love to Kiki. Yes, you guessed it right! We're talking about the viral Kiki challenge that has been doing rounds on the social media. A few months ago, if you jumped out of a moving car to sing 'Kiki do you love me', people would have probably called cops on you or thought that you are a retard for risking your life and that of others. Today, people are trending globally for doing exactly that. It also goes without saying that this is one of the most dangerous challenges, where people are willingly risking their lives to get a few minutes of thrill and fame. © Instagram Now, while most people were busy finding the safest spot to do this challenge without getting arrested by cops; Baba Sehgal changed the whole challenge for us with his desi Kiki. We all know that Baba Sehgal does not need any logic to create music. Toss some words (which don't make sense) to make it rhyme with some random music playing in the background, and his song is ready. His 'Kiki Challenge' version wasn't any different either. When you have lyrics like, "Kiki kyun pilai, tune shaam ko, woh chai pheeki", how can anyone not fall in love with his version? Honestly, 'Chai Pilo Aunty' has got nothing on this Indian Kiki who loves to offer pheeki chai to people. When Drake went inside með INDIAN KIKI ð #babasehgal #kikichallenge #scorpion #drake #rapper #rap #rnb #hindikiki A post shared by Baba Sehgal (@babasehgal) on Aug 6, 2018 at 2:38am PDT We are in love with Baba Sehgal's 'Indian Kiki' and I am sure you will love it too when you watch the video.
  5. There's something magical about a kullad of steaming chai made on a roadside stall on a rainy day. Nothing is better than having a cup of chai in good weather. Tea is undoubtedly the favourite drink of India. It is, in fact, more than just a drink. It's a cult. Drinking chai in our country is more of a social act, an excuse to sit back and relax. Coffee might be its fashionable cousin that plays cupid for youngsters, but there's no beating the good old charm of a warm cup of tea. No matter how hot it might get, we will still drink that cup of chai after switching on the AC. If it rains by any chance during the summer, chai and pakodas it is! We Indians just need an excuse to have our favourite beverage. Here are ten signs that prove tea has, by default, become our national drink and we can't live without it. 1. A slight drizzle outside, and the first thing you want is chai. 2. Sutta with tea on a bad day at work is the perfect recipe to wash the blues away. 3. In office, “Chal yar chai peene chalte hain” makes you go like this. 4. No work gets done on the day the tea machine at office breaks down or the pantry guy is absent. 5. Whenever guests come over, tea is the logical choice after Namaste. 6. Many of us can't wake up without a cup of tea right in the morning. 7. Making tea is the first thing everyone learns to make. 8. Having a bad day? Got a headache? Tea is the solution for everything. 9. This is orgasmic for many of us. 10. You need tea even if you are not a tea lover. Photo: © insightwalk (dot) com (Main Image)
