  1. All titles for six chapters of Snyder's Cut of Justice League have been released
  2. Aashram director Prakash Jha recently said that he’s already working on the next chapter, which ‘will be the actual Part 2’, and will focus on the downfall of Baba Nirala. View this post on InstagramGoes without saying, we are psyched for this one! Jha, in an interview with Mumbai Mirror, also claimed that the much controversial show, which streams for free on MX Player, has raked in one billion (100 crore) views. Previously, before Part 2 was released in November, he’d said that the first part had raked in 400 million views, which is a rather spectacular feat. Besides, he also emphasised on the fact that the viewership figures prove that audiences are liking the show, contrary to what certain controversies surrounding it might suggest. © Prakash Jha Productions For the unversed, Jha and actor Bobby Deol, who portrays the role of Baba Nirala, have been served with a notice for the show’s depiction of a godman. “When you make something that affects the masses, a polarised reaction is to be expected,” Jha said, adding that no Hinduphobic sentiments are being propagated on the show and that there’s no mention of any religion. He said that the viewership numbers prove otherwise. “They kept rising, but I was really surprised to see it cross the 1 billion mark. From this I gauged that people love to watch such content; I can’t imagine why though!” he said. “During my research, all of which is in the public domain, I learnt how these organisations function, and even those who go there exploit such places to absolve themselves of their sins. I had to sift through a lot of mundane stuff to explore the relationships these self-proclaimed godmen have with women, police, investigative agencies, politicians, the youth, and also drug cartels,” he added. © Prakash Jha Productions The filmmaker had taken a similar stance when he was served a notice by the Karni Sena, ahead of the release of Part 2 of the show. “Who am I to make a judgment on their demand? We had 400 million-plus views for the first season. I think viewers are the best placed to decide on ‘negative goodwill’. Shall we leave it to them?” he’d said, according to SpotboyE. The first two instalments of the show, in which Bobby plays a dhongi baba, were released in quick succession. How excited are you for Part 2 of the much talked-about show? Let us know in the comments below. View the full article
  3. Every Baba has his cult following and our favorite Kashipur Waale Baba Nirala is no different. Over the last few weeks, MX Player’s ‘Aashram Chapter 2’ has risen to new heights of success. Directed by Prakash Jha, the series has been widely appreciated by fans and critics alike. From its bold topics to its unrelenting depiction of the reality behind the façade of goodness, the show has touched upon many topics that are too close to home. As the show gained momentum, so did the dhongi fictional Baba played by Bobby Deol. Bobby Deol’s portrayal of the murky and cunning Baba Nirala was on point. His snarky dialogues and calm persona as a spiritual leader were a hit with the viewers. No wonder then that Kashipur wale Baba Nirala has achieved a cult status offline as well as online. The internet is flooded with fan art and memes on Bobby Deol’s characters. We scouted the net for some of the best ones and here are the ones that made the cut. Just like his blockbuster movies, Prakash Jha has done a fabulous job with seamless storytelling and direction. With every episode, the show makes you question your blind faith and think twice about your actions. As the show received its cult status, Zain Anwar, Shubham Gaur and Rajesh Yadav from our team, decided to break down the show and give you an honest review. Hooked to the plot? We bet you are! If you haven’t watched it yet, you can start streaming Aashram Chapter 2 for free exclusively on MX Player. View the full article
  4. “Baba laayenge kranti….” Kashipur wale Baba Nirala is back and this time, the world behind the closed doors of Aashram is murkier than before. After a successful run in August, Prakash Jha bounced back on the OTT circuit with the second chapter of his debut series Aashram. The Bobby Deol starrer series kicks off right where it left us – Monty aka Baba Nirala unrelentingly exploiting women for his pleasure. Drugging, influencing, and exploiting – that’s what happens under the lure of blind faith and blessings. But the female leads of Aashram, Babita (Tridha Choudhury), and Pammi (Aaditi Pohankar) are not ones to take this lying down. MX Player After being drugged and raped in the very place they sought solace in, they lead a silent uprising among the women in the aashram. There’s a fight brewing against the murky Godman and the dubious world he created. The second chapter which is an immediate extension of the first part also explores the influence of Baba Nirala on the youth and politics of the heartland. The very first episode takes us to the concert held by Baba Nirala with chartbuster musician Abhimanyu. It’s here that we first listen to the new anthem of the series – Baba laayenge kranti. The catchy tunes of this earworm help Baba Nirala carve the way for a new wave of young followers. MX Player The second chapter of the series retains the original star cast. Besides Bhopa (Chandan Roy Sanyal), we also see officer Ujagar Singh (Darshan Kumaar), Dr. Natasha (Anupriya Goenka) and Akki (Rajeev Sidhartha) spearheading another covert operation to expose the dark side of the Aashram. Under the guise of drug addicts looking for rehabilitation, Ujagar Singh and his aide move to the Aashram. Actor Darshan Kumar aces his role as an undercover cop. That’s where the show picks up pace. MX Player Bobby Deol plays the sleazy, grim, and sly Baba Nirala with ease. He adapts the subtle nuances of Godmen and expresses it in his acting. With Chapter 2, the end for Baba Nirala is near and this grim new season is just the thrilling end to a fantastic debut show by Prakash Jha. You can start streaming it for FREE on MX Player right here. View the full article

  6. The roaring success of Bobby Deol starrer Aashram, which hit our screens in August this year, took many a naysayer by surprise. The show wrapped the audience around its deviously engrossing saga of faith, power and sensuality in the name of blind faith towards ‘spiritual leaders’ who claim to change lives. © MX Player Given the strong buzz the show created and the great popularity of the show, its concept as well as execution, the makers of Aashram are now all ready to make a comeback with Aashram: Chapter 2 - The Dark Side. Check out the trailer of Aashram: Chapter 2 before we give you more details. All set to return to our screens in November, the second edition of the show will see Baba Nirala return as the uncrowned king of his own kingdom. With his sole ambition to further his personal agenda and gain a free reign in the name of being ‘God’s messenger’, the audience will now come face to face with Baba Nirala’s dark side, one that’s in total contrast to his charming avatar in Season 1. © MX Player “Babaji’s insatiable greed for power, money and lust sees him use the façade of the ashram to conduct illegal activities, trading the trust of his vulnerable followers to grow his own political clout, smuggling drugs and exploiting the women whom he promised solace and his protection,” the makers of Aashram: Chapter 2 said in a statement. © MX Player This sure has all of our attention and here’s what others have to say about this latest announcement: I am so excited to see #BobbyDeol in #ashramchapter2 — Parvinder (@zparvinder) October 29, 2020Can't wait to watch #AashramChapter2 Babaji ki Jay ho.. 7. There's one thing that I feel like everyone in this world would agree on without any fight is that no one can bear it when a dog dies in any movie. It's okay for people to die - people suck - but dogs are the purest beings on the earth and need to be protected at all costs. © Twitter The first look of 'John Wick: Chapter 3' is here and there are some new characters that have already got people worried. Joining Keanu Reeves and Halle Berry are not one, but two dogs and the picture shows the four of them walking in a desert. Welcome to the next chapter. #JohnWick3 pic.twitter.com/qtvXepVEvw — John Wick: Chapter 3 (@JohnWickMovie) December 19, 2018 Talking about the upcoming movie to Entertainment Weekly (https://ew.com/movies/2018/12/19/john-wick-3-keanu-reeves-first-look-photos/?utm_content=link&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=entertainmentweekly_ew&utm_source=twitter.com&utm_term=8E022744-03C0-11E9-A159-8AD1FCA12A29 ), Keanu Reeves said, “The third chapter is literally connected to 2 and starts with John Wick on the run. It goes crazy from there.” Halle Berry will play Sofia, a new character that John meets in the Middle East. He said, “She has a past with John. I end up going to find her to see if she can help me.” The dogs in the picture are two Belgian Malinois dogs, who belong to the character of Sofia. According to Chad Stahelski the director, while John's puppy symbolised his wife, Sofia's dogs are symbolic of someone she's lost. He added that there will be a proper action sequence around her “canine assistants…. They work very well tactically.” Obviously, the entire thing is very exciting because who doesn't love dogs or John Wick, but that is also causing a lot of concern among fans. No one in their right mind would want to see a dog die on screen and people are already worried about the new canine additions. 13. Pham Thanh Cong. QUANG NGAI: Pham Thanh Cong doesn?t remember much about the day his family was killed in front of him by American troops in the My Lai massacre. He was only 11, and blacked out after a grenade hit the bunker they were hiding in. But in the five decades since the March 16, 1968 killings that left 504 villagers dead ? mostly unarmed women, children and older men ? he has dedicated his life to keeping the memory of one of the war?s worst atrocities alive. ?I?m devoted to this to protect the memories of the massacre, to let people know about the brutality of the American army,? Cong told AFP from the war memorial which he ran until his retirement last year. But still, he dredges up memories of that dark day with some reluctance, admitting he?s still haunted by the violence in Son My village, which the Americans called My Lai during the war. "When recalling it, I couldn?t sleep well at night. The memories returned ? the pain, the loss of myself and my family ? making me very sad,? said Cong, expressionless. He had huddled with his mother, brother and sister in a bunker in his home when American helicopters landed in nearby rice paddies in Son My in central Vietnam, believed to be a hotbed of Viet Cong resistance. Soldiers lobbed grenades at the family and shot at them with M-16s. He says he stayed in the hut from 8am until 4pm, when his father wandered in and found him alive. Never again The massacre, uncovered in 1970 by American investigative reporter Seymour Hersh, polarised public opinion and energised a mounting anti-war movement in the US. Though it took years for the American public to learn about My Lai ? the largest and best documented of several suspected mass killings by the US during the war ? the communist North reported the massacre much earlier in broadcasts dismissed as ?red? propaganda. Today, Cong dutifully recounts the painful day as a matter of posterity, to ensure it never happens again. Vietnam?s surging young population ? about half of the country?s 93 million people are under the age of 30 ? are mostly looking away from the war today, focused instead on getting good jobs, premier league football or the latest mobile phone app. Cong says recalling the massacre is a way to ?warn against war and protect peace?. Others in Quang Ngai province are less willing to be drawn into the discussion, some bitter at how little their lives have improved since the end of the war that left an estimated three million Vietnamese dead. Although paved roads and brick buildings have started to reshape parts of the province in recent years, some residents still struggle to eke out a meagre living from farming or fishing. ?Our life is bad... we face difficulties, many families are in need,? said Nguyen Ngoc Long, a rock scavenger who was just two years old when he saw his cousin killed in the massacre. Villagers like Long who did not fight in the war are not entitled to official veterans? compensation from the government, despite their losses during the conflict. ?We are just civilians so we must accept the losses of not having support at all,? said Truong Thi Hong, 76, whose mother and brother were killed. 'Peace, not war' Vietnam?s communist government is marking 50 years since the massacre on Friday with an official ceremony at the memorial site that Cong used to run, where the names of 504 victims are etched into a stone wall. A group of US veterans are also attending the ceremony, a sign of how far relations have come between the United States and Vietnam, former foes who now enjoy a cosy alliance. Vietnam has welcomed four American presidents since the end of the war, and today the US is one of its top trading partners and closest Western allies. Cong, steadily focused on looking ahead without forgetting the past, said he would welcome his former enemies to the village where his family was once slaughtered. ?Now the point is looking towards future, and the country?s development... we want peace, not war... not because we are forgetting the war or the crimes of American troops. We are putting the past behind, we don?t want to hold onto hatred.?
  14. Afghan President Ashraf Ghani in 2015. Photo: Reuters KABUL: Afghanistan President Ashraf Ghani said on Wednesday that Kabul is ready for talks with Pakistan, adding that they want to forget the past and start a new chapter. Calling on Pakistan to hold government-to-government talks, Ghani said the best place to hold peace talks is Kabul, according to Tolo News. Ghani made the remarks during a speech at the opening of the Kabul Process for Peace and Security Cooperation which went under way today. The conference, the first part of which was held in June last year, comprises representatives from around 25 countries, including Pakistan, and members of international organisations. The aim of the meeting is to find a settlement to the decades-long conflict in Afghanistan. 'Peace in Taliban's hands' In a message to the Taliban, the Afghan president said peace is in their hands today and called on the group to accept peace and come together to save this country. He said that the peace process and a ceasefire must be agreed upon and that Taliban must be declared a political group. Around 25 countries and organisations are attending the conference. Photo: ToloNews Ghani laid out several olive branches to the Taliban in his speech, saying the government will provide facilities and security to those who join the peace process, work on freeing prisoners, provide passports for Taliban members and their families and will issue visas, open an office for them including in Kabul and will also work to remove sanctions against Taliban leaders, according to Tolo News. Earlier, the Afghan president said consensus is still needed to take coordinated action among states to counter the threat faced by Afghanistan. Afghan Foreign Minister Salahuddin Rabbani in his opening remarks said that peace in Afghanistan would benefit the whole region and the world at large. In a tweet on Tuesday evening, Ghani had said he would present a detailed peace offer to the Taliban and Pakistan on behalf of the Afghan people. "We wish to march toward a lasting peace in #Afghanistan and in the region!" he had said in the message.
  15. 2017 started on a high note with an action-packed performance by Vin Diesel in 'xXx: Return of Xander Cage'. Though the action thriller did well in the international market, we saw the genre slipping at the box office. What we witnessed in the next few months was exciting and record-breaking at the same time. Movies after movies broke records in earnings and popularity. Where on one hand the horror genre ruled the box office, many crime thrillers did well in the overseas market. It was the zest of the talented filmmakers who took a brave attempt in bringing out crime stories when the market for horror flicks was soaring. Here we have compiled the list of the most amazing crime-thriller movies you must watch before the year ends. 1. Wind River © thunder road pictures This murder mystery, starring Jeremy Renner, Graham Greene, and Elizabeth Olsen, has won accolades at many film festivals and award shows in different categories, including the Best Director award at Cannes Film Festival and Best Actor (Graham Greene) and Best Film at American Indian Film Festival. Directed by Taylor Sheridan, this movie is about two officers – a U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service officer and an FBI agent – solving a murder that takes place on the Wind River Indian reservation in mysterious circumstances. Director Sheridan said that he was motivated to make this movie after finding out about the numerous true stories of assault and murder of women in reservations. 2. Baby Driver © big talk productions With a 7.8 rating on IMDb, 'Baby Driver', starring Ansel Elgort, Kevin Spacey, Lily Kames and Jamie Foxx, is a must watch for those who fancy action-thriller movies. More than 15 nominations in various award categories, including a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor – Motion Picture Musical or Comedy (Ansel Elgort), this movie has been able to appeal to the audiences and critics alike. Writer and director Edgar Wright says that he found inspiration to develop a story around a post-heist car chase from the 1994 song 'Bellbottoms'. Eventually, this song was used in the opening credits of this movie. 3. American Made © universal pictures This Tom Cruise starrer biographical crime movie is a gripping tale of a former pilot becoming a deadly drug dealer. With an 88 percent approval aggregate on Rotten Tomatoes, the critical consensus for this movie here is this: "American Made's fast-and-loose attitude with its real-life story mirrors the cavalier – and delightfully watchable – energy Tom Cruise gives off in the leading role." Now, don't we love Tom Cruise donning aviators, crash landing planes and going badass? Of course, we do! A cherry on the cake is that he does most of it in a pilot's uniform. 4. The Snowman © perfect world pictures This English crime thriller is based on a novel of the same name, written by Jo Nesbo. The story keeps viewers glued to their seats as they discover the protagonist – Detective Harry Hole investigating the case of the disappearance of a woman. Intriguingly, her scarf is found wrapped around an ominous-looking snowman. Though there have been mixed responses to the film but it has gained popularity for its impactful storytelling. Michael Fassbender gives a striking performance and has tried to explore a different genre through this film. The film is directed by Tomas Alfredson and keeps you gripped till the end. Scenic backdrop and snow-laden mountains are an attraction and make you feel the thrill. 5. Shot Caller © bold films This crime thriller stars Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Lake Bell, Omari Hardwick, Emory Cohen, Jon Bernthal, Evan Jones, Jeffrey Donovan, with Holt McCallany and Benjamin Bratt. Written and directed by Ric Roman Waugh, the movie entails the transformation of a charming family guy into a hardcore gangster. Nikolaj Coster-Waldau's performance in the lead role received raving reviews. He has given a breathtaking performance and ensures that the movie never gets static at all. As per the New York Times, the film would be 'Breaking Bad' of the prison genre. 6. John Wick: Chapter 2 © lionsgate This film sets your heart racing. With a 7.5 IMDb rating, this Keanu Reeves thriller grossed a whopping 171 million dollars worldwide. Mike Rougeau of IGN stated that the movie "takes joy in expanding on the original's lore", giving it an 8.5 out of 10. He praised the movie as a big improvement with regard to action set pieces, cinematography, fight choreography and writing. Peter Travers of Rolling Stone called this movie "pure cinema" and "the real deal". Now, who would want to miss a movie that made both the audience and the critics happy? 7. The Foreigner © wanda pictures Written by David Marconi and directed by Martin Campbell, this Anglo China action thriller is must watch for suspense lovers. Based on Stephen Leather's novel 'The Chinaman'; the movie stars Jackie Chan, Katie Leung, Pierce Brosnan, and Rufus Jones among others. Oscar winner Jackie Chan received good reviews for his dramatic performance as Ngoc Minh Quan – a former war Special Forces operator turned restaurateur in London. It is needless to say that those who have a thing for action definitely have a thing for Jackie Chan. It would not be wrong to say that the story is a fierce vendetta dipped in emotions. In addition, we get to see different shades of Chan – desperate, helpless, crying and angry. So, go, watch it and thank us later! 8. Brawl in Cell Block 99 © assemble media This is a story of a former boxer turned drug dealer who lands in prison after a drug deal goes wrong. With an IMDb rating of 7.2, this Vince Vaughn and Jennifer Carpenter criminal drama is a good watch. From nail-biting action scenes to a raunchy background score, this Craig Zahler directorial keeps you engaged and thrilled throughout. On Rotten Tomatoes, this movie has a brilliant aggregate of 93 percent and an approval of “certified fresh”. Need I say more? 9. Good Time © elara pictures 'Good Time' is undoubtedly Robert Pattinson's best performance so far. With a raw touch to his personality, Robert is almost unrecognizable in the trailers of this movie. He definitely walks out of his Cedric Diggory and Edward days in this one. Not just a pretty face anymore! With an IMDb rating of 7.4 and a whopping 91 percent approval on Rotten Tomatoes, this movie was appreciated by almost all critics alike. The consensus rating on Rotten Tomatoes reads – “A visual treat filled out by consistently stellar work from Robert Pattinson, Good Time is a singularly distinctive crime drama offering far more than the usual genre thrills." This crime drama was written by Josh Safdie and Ronald Bronstien, and directed by Ben and Josh Safdie. Oneohtrix Point Never developed the film's background score, which won the Soundtrack Award at the 2017 Cannes Film Festival. 10. Detroit © annapurna pictures From Kathryn Ann Bigelow, an Academy Award-winning writer-director of blockbusters like Zero Dark Thirty and The Hurt Locker, 'Detroit' is the story of one of the darkest times during the civil unrest in the summer of 1967 that rocked the city of Detroit. A 7.5 on IMDb, this gripping historical crime drama, is a must watch. The film stars Will Poulter, John Boyega, Jason Mitchell, Algee Smith, Anthony Mackie and John Krasinski. Will Leitch and Tim Grierson from The New Republic referred to the film as a potential Oscar candidate in the main category of Best Picture. They also mentioned John Boyega as a potentially deserving Oscar nominee for Best Actor.
  16. Keanu Reeves is all set to reprise the role of John Wick for a third inning of the movie series. Not much has been divulged in terms of the storyline and premise that will form the structure of the movie but as per reports, the movie is gearing up for a May 2019 release. © MJW Films The first part of the movie, which came in 2014 was a hit and fans loved Keanu. Chad Stahleski, the director threw some light about expanding the thriller series. “We want, not so much to go bigger on the third one, but to show you more of the intricacies of the world… I feel like there are all these different subtleties that I skipped over in Number Two, that I'd like to go back to on [chapter three] and show you the inner workings of different parts of New York. So rather than massive set pieces, I'd like to show you cooler and more intricate ones. I like telling stories from my one character's perspective. Once you put that aside with the TV show, [you can] expand to all the different characters and follow them throughout their journey.” © MJW Films He also explained how the original intention was to make just one movie. The idea of converting it into a whole series was not a part of the original plan. It's the success of the first part that prompted the makers to make a second one later. If you are a fan of the series or you have been missing Keanu in action, then you have an official waiting period that begins now.
  17.
