Shakun Batra's Gehraiyaan, starring Deepika Padukone, Siddhant Chaturvedi, Ananya Panday and Dhairya Karwa, is one of the most awaited movies and has been in the news since its inception. As the makers dropped the trailer, people were impressed with how the filmmaker has decided to decode the millennial language. Deepika plays Alisha, who is in a relationship with Dhairya’s character. Ananya plays her cousin, who is engaged to Siddhant’s character. But relationships get complicated when Deepika and Siddhant’s characters start falling for each other. In the end, they even asked a rather important question if they are messed up people. For those people who saw the trailer have been calling it a tale of modern love that has its own darkness. We would suggest to watch it before making a perception. Deepika did talk about the intimate scenes and gave us an idea that it’s way more than just infidelity in the movie. Talking about the intimate scenes, she said, “I don’t think it would be possible without the comfort that he (Shakun) has given all of us. You feel you are working in an extremely safe and secure environment because intimacy is not easy. It is not something that we have ever experienced or explored in Indian cinema before, in the way we have in this film. So, to go down that route of intimacy, of vulnerability, is only possible when you know that the director is not doing it for the eyeballs, but he is doing it because that’s just where the characters are coming from, through their journey and their experiences.” View this post on Instagram She said, “All I can say is that I have not done something like this before. I have done films and a lot of characters that are love stories or relationships dramas. I want to say that my character in Gehraiyaan is bold. I think, for me, this character is a lot more raw and a lot more real than some of the other characters that I have played. Emotionally, it is completely stripped and naked in that sense, and completely vulnerable. I think to be able to do that on screen, it has to come from a very deep place. It is not to say that I haven’t experienced that before. I don’t think love stories or relationships happen like that. It is not infidelity under the garb of finding the one or finding the true love. In today’s time how relationships unravel today, it is people looking at love differently, it is not always finding the one but what you feel in the moment.” In our opinion, the movie is addressing the chaos we have within us and the choices we make. People judged Sara Ali Khan's Atrangi Re and bashed her and Akshay Kumar for romancing each other but their story was altogether different. It’s probably better to watch the movie before you judge it! Originally scheduled to release at the end of January, Gehraiyaan was pushed by some days. Ahead of its release, Ranveer Singh’s much-hyped film 83 is facing legal trouble and Deepika Padukone's name has also been dragged into the controversy. Yes, you read that right! A case has reportedly been filed in a Mumbai court against the 83 makers of alleged cheating and the complaint also mentions Deepika's name as she is one of the producers of the upcoming sports drama. View this post on Instagram According to an India Today report, a UAE-based financer has filed the complaint after approaching the Andheri Metropolitan Magistrate Court in Mumbai. In the complaint, it has been alleged that Vibri Media has promised good returns to his company after they invested Rs 16 crore (approx). However, without the complainant's consent, the money was used for the production of 83 after their funds were directed into multiple agreements involving filmmakers like Sajid Nadiadwala, Kabir Khan, Deepika Padukone among others. Advocate Rizwan Siddiquee, who is representing FZE (the complainant), said, "It is true that my client has filed a criminal complaint against all the Producers of the film 83 on the grounds of cheating and criminal conspiracy. My client had no other option but to initiate strict legal proceedings, as the producers did not seem interested in resolving the dispute amicably, despite full knowledge of my client’s rights. The matter would now be taken up by respective Courts". In the complaint, FZE has asked for issuance of process against all the accused of allegedly committing offenses under IPC Sections 405, 406, 415, 418, 420, and 120B. The makers of 83 are yet to react to the same. Talking about the much-awaited biopic, 83 features Ranveer as the Indian cricket legend Kapil Dev while Deepika will be seen essaying the role of the cricketer's wife Romi Bhatia. The makers of 83, directed by Kabir Khan, recently released the film's trailer which is receiving an overwhelming response from moviegoers. Also featuring Saqib Saleem, Ammy Virk, Pankaj Tripathi, Harrdy Sandhu among others in pivotal roles, it is slated to hit the theatres on 24 December, during the Christmas weekend.
