  1. The current Test cricket roster for the Indian side is being touted as one of the best sides to have played in this format, in the history of the game, especially because of the kind of feats they have achieved as a unit, barring the WTC final (and we won’t talk about it because we hate dealing with heavy losses). Anyhow, making a stunning comeback on the final day of the second Test against England at the iconic Lord’s cricket ground in London to win it all and gain a 1-0 lead in the series became the latest addition to this squad’s biggest achievements. View this post on Instagram At the helm of such a proud run remains the captain of the Indian cricket team, Virat Kohli, who became the fourth most successful captain in the history of Test cricket after booking the 37th win under his name. To add to the kind of impact he has on his team, the team speech that he gave ahead of England’s second innings on Day 5 managed to find its way online and has gone viral ever since. pic.twitter.com/VGpD8Fo3Wa — pant shirt fc (@pant_fc) August 16, 2021 “If I see anyone laughing in front of their players, see what happens. Got it? For Sixty overs they should feel like hell out there,” Kohli could be heard saying in the team hurdle. And to his credit, the kind of intensity brought along by his teammates, especially Mohammed Siraj, ended up working in their favour as the entire English batting order collapsed for just 120 runs, giving the Men in Blue a convincing 151-run victory. View this post on Instagram Having said that, those who love to criticise the Indian captain did not see any way in which Kohli contributed towards India’s winning cause. Instead, they went on to harp about how the skipper has been struggling to put up numbers on the scoreboard for a long time now and how he ended up dropping a crucial and simple Jos Buttler catch which could have cost them the match. No test performances in the last 670 days. Dropped Butler's catch at a crucial stage yesterday but yet take all the credit. He is lucky the English have a shitty batting line ATM. — Zee khan (@Zeekhan14909841) August 17, 2021When VK got out early, some fans came up with the idea of removing him as a test captain. Few days later his captaincy earned India a famous win. — Farrukh Rz (@FarrukhRz) August 17, 2021I'd rather a Kane Williamson who encourages his team to express themselves than curb their instincts and dull them into being a clone of yourself https://t.co/lw9BgEc1fZ — A comment & 3 slow (@krishnavallabh) August 18, 2021This is really ridiculous ...it is a game of cricket, not war behaving like a dictator https://t.co/cWjgYlrJ4u — ABHIJIT NAIR (@Rahul_bill) August 18, 2021An unlikeable and totally self-obsessed man. I'd much rather have Root as my captain personally https://t.co/wvBx3vjm2Q — Nicholas (@ncarowland) August 17, 2021What happened to this intensity when they faced a good batting line-up of NZ in the WTC Final? Why didn't it work? https://t.co/qwRB5hCCp6 — Aman (@cric_ap) August 18, 2021The second Test makes Kohli only the third Indian captain after Kapil Dev (1986) and Mahendra Singh Dhoni (2014) to win a red-ball match at Lord’s and the sheer experience of going through such a trying five-day period shows why it will forever be remembered as one of the most iconic Test wins.
