  1. Leave it up to Shahid Kapoor and he will show you some zany ways to elevate your sartorial statement with a pair of sneakers. Every pair from his sneaker collection has an extravagant element to it. Sometimes they are overly chunky or he wears sneakers that look like a failed science experiment. With so many stylish instances, it is established that he is a true sneaker god. © Lyst At the moment, oversized silhouettes with a quirky message are in rage. Shahid's powder blue hoodie says 'There's No Future For You' at the back. This hood is by Haculla and it features a hood with drawstring fastening and kangaroo pockets. Furthermore, this versatile style also has a distressed finish and a loose fit. While this hoodie looks super relaxed, his bouncy, oversized sneakers, on the other hand, took his overall debonair a notch higher. Take a look: © Lyst He is wearing Valentino Garavani's Bounce Lace-up Sneakers. This pair has a disruptive design and the bulky style with a tonal mesh upper and suede overlays are further accentuated with electric blue, preinstalled in-sock. Additionally, this pair also has a thick rubber outsole and detailed with gold accents that add to the luxe finish. View the full article
  2. The most complete batsman of his time. The most prolific run-scorer of all time. The biggest cricket icon the gentleman's game has ever known. A living God amongst ordinary men with the unique ability to evoke passion amongst cricket fans. Sachin Tendulkar needs no introduction when it comes to cricket. Boasting a full range of rage of orthodox shots, Tendulkar's batting was based on the purest principles - perfect balance, economy of movement, precision in stroke-making and, above all, anticipation (an intangible quality, possessed by few greats, which continues to elude some of the best in the business even now). 3. Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman tackled the biggest elephant in the room just hours ago as she presented the Union Budget for 2020-21. The Budget becomes crucial because it gives us an estimate of the expected expenditure of the government for the given period of time. But really, for people like you and me who do not want to get into the nitty-gritty of the Annual Budget, our leading concerns lay in how the proposed Budget is going to impact our lives immediately. Which is to say, how we may be profiting or failing to benefit from the proposed financial projections - what becomes cheaper, what becomes costlier and what becomes of our personal savings to put things very simply. © Twitter So, without beating around the bush anymore, letâs directly get to what it is that you are really here for. First off, your cigarettes are going to get costlier and so are other tobacco-based products. Additionally, medical equipment will also become more expensive due to higher taxes on imports. © Pexels Imported footwear and furniture will also burn a hole in your pockets, so we suppose many of us will be cutting corners when it comes to setting up our houses. Even the kitchen may not look as dapper as youâd imagine because customs duty on porcelain, clay iron, steel and copper has been doubled. © Pexels However, there is some relief to be found in the fact that the withdrawal of customs duty on raw sugar, agro-animal based products, Tuna bait, skimmed milk, specific alcoholic beverages, soya fibre and soy protein will bring their prices down. In addition to all that, Finance Minister Sitharaman also announced the lower tax slabs under a new income tax regime which has been the biggest highlight of the session. Though we are still not sure where the economy is headed post today, hereâs hoping we can make the most of whatâs been served. View the full article
  4. Our soldiers put our safety first before their lives, brave the toughest of weather conditions and fight battles (which sometimes turn fatal) to protect us from not only external threats but also those on the inside and make sure that we are safe. No amount of words can ever be enough to express our gratitude towards them. But, what about those brave souls who sacrificed their lives for the country's freedom? A freedom, which we often take for granted. A freedom that costs countless lives that are slowly getting erased from everyone's memories now? © Prime Video To give a glimpse into the history and struggles of Indians back in 1942 and the courage with which they fought for our freedom, Prime Video is coming out with The Forgotten Army . Directed by Kabir Khan, The Forgotten Army chronicles the brave fight put up by the Azad Hind Fauj, also known as the Indian National Army led by Subhash Chandra Bose. The trailer has already struck a chord with people on social media, who can't seem to get enough of Sunny Kaushal who plays a pivotal role in the series. © Prime Video Ahead of its release on January 24, Sunny Kaushal and his brother Vicky Kaushal, who is probably till date answering his fans' question 'How's the Josh?'; came together for a special video where both of them are paying tribute to the 'remembered and forgotten' army. While Vicky pays tribute to the jawans of the Indian Army, Sunny Kaushal talks about the bravery and courage of the Indian National Army, who fought during World War II to free their country from the British. No matter how many times you watch the video, but every time Sunny Kaushal says, "Ek Din Hindustan Humari Is Qurbani Ko Yaad Karega, Shayad Samajh Nahi Payega Par Yaad Zaroor Karega", it sends chills down our spine. We can't wait to catch the series on Prime Video on January 24, what about you? Let us know in the comments below. View the full article
  5. Mahira Khan urges government to come down hard on child abusersPakistani superstar Mahira Khan has urged the government to come hard on people involved in sexual abuse against children, after a seven-year old girl was allegedly raped and murdered in Ziarat Kaka Sahib area of Nowshera, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Last month, Human Rights Minister Shireen Mazari on Twitter, had announced that the government is preparing a holistic policy on child abuse under the PM's directive and within two weeks it would be ready with all stakeholders being taken on board. Commenting on Mazari’s tweet, Mahira Khan, who is also the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees' (UNHCR) Goodwill Ambassador for Pakistan, said: “Dear @ShireenMazari1 It’s been two weeks. Is the policy ready? Another beautiful child raped and murdered. How many more would it take?” The actress urged the policy makers to come down hard on these culprits, saying, “Please please come down hard on these monsters.”
  6. OnePlus, as we all know, will launch its new phone for 2020 very soon. Although we don't know much about the phone just yet, we believe it's going to be a premium device with snappy performance, just like their current phones in the market. And now the CEO of OnePlus, Pete Lau, has just confirmed that their next phone will have a 120Hz display. Now, that's just awesome because we already love the 90Hz panel on the OnePlus 7T and the OnePlus 7T Pro. In fact, Pete believes that it'll be the best smartphone display in 2020. © MensXP/ Akshay Bhalla We're glad that OnePlus has decided to push the boundaries when it comes to display tech and come up with this new 120Hz panel for their next phone, which is believed to the OnePlus 8. As revealed by OnePlus, the new display feature the most rigorous hardware configuration in the industry and a handful of exciting technologies including MEMC technology for smoother video playback and a QHD+ resolution. The display also has the most accurate colour accuracy and 4096-level of automatic brightness control, four times of average android flagships. All that sounds super exciting, doesn't it? Well, now we just can't wait to check out the device in person and feel for it. © Reuters Pete Lau says, "We believe that the smoothest smartphone display must also be able to deliver a superior visual quality and viewing comfort. We're sure that OnePlus's new 120Hz Fluid Display will be the best you'll lay eyes on in 2020." As of now, we don't know when the company is planning to release its next phone. But they recently showcased a concept phone with a really cool feature, so be sure to check it out. View the full article
  7. American troops who were at the Al-Asad base where Iran fired a volley of missiles on Wednesday, knew an attack was imminent and had taken precautions two-and-a-half hours before it took place, according to a report. During an exclusive tour of the military base that came under attack this week, a CNN journalist was told that most US troops were either flown out or had been sheltering in bunkers by 11:00pm local time when the base came under attack. At around 1:30am, Iran fired multiple missiles at the base, targeting only the US areas of it that roughly comprise a quarter of the entire area. Referring to the incident as a "miracle", US troops--speaking for the first time ever since the attack that sent shockwaves across the world occurred--said some soldiers remained outside throughout the attack as missiles hit targets just a few feet away from their bunkers. US troops said they knew Iran would attack the Al-Asad base. However, they weren't aware about the nature of the attack. One of the bunkers at the Al-Asad base. PHOTO BY: CNNIran brought tensions to a new high between Washington and Tehran when it fired a volley of missiles at Al-Asad base--just one of two military bases in Iraq that came under attack that day. Tehran said the attack was retaliation for the US drone strike that killed top Iranian commander Qassem Soleimani in Baghdad. Iraq Prime Minister Adil Abdul Mahdi said Iran had sent a verbal warning that certain US targets in the country would be hit. A top diplomatic source told CNN that Iraq conveyed the information to US about "which bases would be hit" after the message was received from Tehran. The attack, which lasted for two hours, stopped at dawn. That is when US troops came out to ascertain the damage caused by the missiles. Ruined remains of a living quarters. PHOTO BY: CNNUS President Donald Trump had visited the base last year to spend time with American soldiers there. "We came in, we felt very safe coming in. It was a pretty difficult journey in certain ways, but we felt very, very good, very safe," Trump had said about the base. The Al-Asad military base lies in Iraq's Anbar province. It is one of the oldest and largest military bases that houses American troops.
  8. Google launched one of our favourite smartphones, the Pixel 3A in early 2019 and the smartphone surprised us all with what it was capable of. It was a smartphone that came with a great camera, balanced specifications and a more affordable price tag. However, new renders of the Pixel 4a have now leaked online and it shows us what the smartphone will look like. © 91Mobiles These are the first set of pictures that are based on the CAD files of the upcoming smartphone. The renders were published by 91mobiles and @Onleakes that shows a design similar to the Pixel 4. However, the most notable change is the punch-hole display as the Pixel 3a came with noticeable bezels. The punch-hole camera is positioned in the top-left part of the display and also allows the smartphone to have slimmer bezels. The Pixel 4a renders show that the smartphone will not have Pixel 3's larger forehead that housed different sensors for Motion Sense gestures. Since these sensors are not present on the smartphone, we aren't sure whether the smartphone will have Google's face unlock feature or not. In terms of camera arrangement, the Pixel 4a looks like it will have only one sensor in a similar camera module as the Pixel 4. The primary sensor is rumoured to be a 12.2 MP lens and will work similarly to the camera on the Pixel 3a. The Pixel 4a is also expected to come with a USB-C charging port and a 35mm headphone jack. © 91Mobiles In terms of specs, the Pixel 4a is expected to feature a 5.7-inch display and will be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 730 or 765 processor, 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of storage. 9. Just like clockwork, Apple upgrades its iPad lineup every year. This year, the company is reportedly planning to launch upgrades to both its 11-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pro tablets. These upgrades won't drop until the Spring of next year, but we already have our first look at the device. Yes, we already have 3D renders that gives us an idea as to what they'd look like. These renders were obtained by "Onleaks" which is a reliable source. That being said, we suggest you take all this info with a pinch of salt. © onloeaks-ipad As you can see, it looks like Apple is following a similar thin-bezel design of the iPad Pro 11 on both the models. It looks very similar from the front. But at the back, it now has three cameras. The module itself is very similar to the ones found on the iPhone 11 Pro. The fact that 2020 iPad Pro models will have a triple camera setup is a huge deal because they've only had a single camera module at the back up until now. We're not sure about the exact specs of the camera, but we think it'll be similar to the ones found on the iPhone 11 Pro models. And in case you don't know, Apple iPhone 11 Pro is said to have the best set of cameras on any smartphone, so it'll be awesome to see those cameras on the new iPad models. ©YouTube/ Marques Brownlee And as for the other hardware details, it looks like Apple will pack these devices with A13X chip. We all know that Apple's A series chips are really good, so we won't be surprised to see this thing flying through day-to-day tasks. Source: iGeeksBlog View the full article
  10. Even though Huawei has been having a tough time selling smartphones because of the ban on US companies doing business with the Chinese company, it is still making smartphones that push the envelope. Huawei already launched the Mate 30 Pro recently, but the launch was only limited to China. The next smartphone to launch is the P30 Pro's successor that will come with new battery technology according to rumours. © MensXP_Akshay Bhalla A tweet listed some details about the features on the P40 Pro and specification that are planned for the upcoming phone. The rumour may not be entirely accurate as the source is not Huawei but it does detail some interesting new technology it will be implementing. If the rumour is to believed, Huawei is looking to include a new graphene technology that will increase battery capacity drastically. The new graphene will also increase the battery speed while keeping it cooler than the widely used lithium-ion batteries. The Huawei P40 Pro is rumoured to come with a 5,500mAh graphene battery than can be fully charged in 45 minutes with a 50W charger. That's quite impressive considering the capacity of the battery and the speed at which it charges. Graphene battery technology is relatively new, however many companies are already working on it. Graphene batteries help in reducing the temperature of the battery and also increases its lifespan. © MensXP_Akshay Bhalla Of course, there is no guarantee whether the Huawei P40 Pro will use graphene batteries in the final version of the device. And we can only know for sure when the smartphone is made official. Other rumours have suggested flagship-level specifications for the Huawei P40 i.e. a 6.5-inch OLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and dual punch holes for the selfie camera. At the back, the P40 is expected to come with a Penta-camera setup that will use sensors by Leica. The main sensor is expected to be a 64-megapixel shooter while other sensors include a 20-megapixel ultra-wide lens, a 12-megapixel telephoto lens, a macro lens and ToF (time of flight) sensor. © MensXP_Akshay Bhalla As of now, it looks like the P40 will launch sometime in the first quarter of 2020, however the ban on American companies doing business with Huawei has still not been resolved. If the ban is not resolved by the P40's launch, it means that like the Mate 30 Pro, the P40 may not come with Android and Google Play services and the launch may be limited to China only. From teaching Charlotte Flair never-seen-before steps from one of the songs of Street Dancer to pulling off stunts in an auto with fellow actor Shraddha Kapoor, he's not leaving out anything. © Instagram/Manav Manglani And while at it, Varun Dhawan is making sure that he wears the quirkiest of outfits. Case in point, the time when he was with Charlotte Flair, he wore the Fury Boost silhouette with a yellow onesie which has arguably been one of the best sneaker collaborations this year. © Instagram/Manav Manglani And then recently, he wore C2H4 coordinated jacket and joggers that had a futuristic vibe to them. Underneath the jacket, he wore a plain black t-shirt that had a street dancer logo printed on it. He completed the outfit with a pair of sunglasses and a chunky chain. Take a look here: © Instagram/Manav Manglani Label C2H4, (Molecular Formula for Ethylene) was established by designer Yixi Chen. The label combines influences curated from science and subversive culture, to create innovative garment constructions keeping in mind futuristic aesthetics. This clearly reflects in Varun's outfit. © Instagram/Manav Manglani Besides, it's also a perfect outfit for Street Dancer promotions and while he's mostly seen in the most sporty yet trendy outfits, there are also one-off occasions when he dresses up like a regular guy like his classic denim-on-denim look that he wore recently. Street Dancer is set to release on January 24, 2020, so we're hoping to find some of Varun's best looks in the film. View the full article
  12. Apple's current-generation iPhones, as we already know, are extremely powerful. When it comes to the performance, there's hardly anything out there that's as powerful as the new iPhones. There are a ton of benchmarks out there to prove the same. And if the new report is something to go by, then it looks like, the next set of iPhones will be more powerful. The report by MacRumors suggests that the iPhone 12 Pro, 12 Pro Max will offer up to 6GB RAM. That's right, the iPhone 12 Pro and the iPhone 12 Pro Max both are likely to have 6GB RAM, up from 4GB in the iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max. © Apple Apple is one of the very few companies that has managed to nail OS optimisation. The iPhones work so well with iOS that RAM has never really been an issue. While Android phones have been carrying 6GB and 8GB RAM for a long time now, the 3GB RAM on the iPhone X has been a bottleneck. iPhones have great memory management and we expect them to remain the same, if not get better over time. Now that we're hearing rumours about the next iPhones having up to 6GB of RAM, we think it'll only make them more powerful. Although we don't have an official confirmation yet, we're expecting the RAM to be faster too. That way, the phones won't slow down over an extended period of time since it won't be a bottleneck, to begin with. In addition to that, the new iPhones are also expected to feature rear-facing 3D sensing and mmWave support for higher-performance 5G. And as far as the base model iPhone 12 is concerned, it's said to have 4GB of RAM. © YouTube/ Marques Brownlee Lastly, the report also says that the iPhone SE2 is still in the pipeline and its production is set to begin in February, 2020. All these information come from a reliable source, but we won't know anything for sure until we get any sort of confirmation directly from Apple. View the full article
  13. Let's face it, every time Pulkit Samrat steps out, he is either seen wearing an insane outfit or a spunky pair of sneakers. This underrated star has won our hearts with his impeccable sense of humour on-screen and some teary romantic movies. The actor is as limitless as Ranveer Singh when it comes to his fashion sense. A scroll through his Instagram and you would see how his style sense is synonymous with street style aesthetics. © Instagram/viralbhayani Recently for the screening of his movie, Pagalpanti, he offered us a good lesson on how to wear a metallic outfit. But his sneakers undoubtedly stole all the attention. The pair looks insane and we must say its Pagalpanti at its best. Here's why: © Instagram/viralbhayani © Balenciaga © Balenciaga Pulkit was spotted in his Balenciaga Track 2 White sneakers. This pair is designed in a combination of mesh and nylon and has a dynamic sole. Cool and comfortable, these sneakers set as an ultimate fashionable pair with its innovative design. They are available for Rs 60,000 that excludes import and customs duties. The brand is known for its super edgy sneakers. Even though they come at a humungous price range, the sartorial level of this brand remains unmatched. © Instagram/viralbhayani As for his outfit, he wore a metallic co-ord set by MKI Miyuki Zoku. 14. Now that OnePlus is done with launching phones for 2019, the company has already started work on it successor that will launch next year. The OnePlus 8, 8 Pro are in their initial stages and the design of the smartphones are under development. © Weibo New leaks by TrueTech that showcases the possible design of the OnePlus 8 Pro in the form of a diagram have surfaced online. The diagram may look quite rudimentary, however one feature is distinctively noticeable. Unlike the OnePlus 7T and 7 Series, the OnePlus 8 series is expected to come with a quad-camera setup. Sure, these are based on a set of renders, however previous leaks also suggested the same design change in line with the recent leak. The overall design remains the same apart from a few differences such as the quad-camera setup. © TrueTechh Other minor changes include additional camera sensors that maybe a ToF sensor and a dedicated slot for laser autofocus. The diagrams also show two different variants of the phone where there is a single front-camera cut out at the front and another with dual selfie cameras. If this leak is true, it is possible that OnePlus has ditched the pop-up selfie camera system of the OnePlus 7T Pro and OnePlus 7 Pro phones. Other rumours also suggest that OnePlus will finally add support for wireless charging and a new 120Hz refresh rate display for the Pro models. We are still quite a few months away from the launch of the next OnePlus smartphone, so you can expect things to change in terms of design. There is a good chance that this may be the final design of the phone, however we advise you take this information with a grain of salt. Source: True Tech View the full article
  15. Karan Johar has proven time and again that he deserves an award for his eccentric style. Sure, there are other B-town celebs like Ranveer Singh and Diljit Dosanjh who also have unbeatable sartorial sensibilities but Karan has always knocked it off the park and showed us that he is the king of eclectic styles. If you are expecting him to stand out wearing basic outfits, well, we think that's never going to happen. He is someone who can wear heels to an award function and super edgy sneakers on red carpets. © Viral Bhayani Recently, he was spotted at his fashionable best. Everything in his outfit looked put together tastefully but if there's one thing that definitely made a head-turning statement, it has to be his sneakers. If you look closely, you will notice that this pair definitely has a futuristic vibe to it. © Viral Bhayani © Dolce & Gabbana The self-proclaimed maximalist, KJo, was seen wearing Dolce & Gabanna Super King Sneakers. These black and silvertone sneakers feature a round toe with lace-up front fastening. The tongue is embossed with the brand name and has a rear logo patch. The modern aesthetics of these sneakers sure speak a lot of his personality and definitely are a super edgy pair that we have seen in a while. © Dolce & Gabbana We love the futuristic vibe they have but when it comes to how much it retails in India, it will set you back. They are worth Rs. 74,000 but since it's KJo wearing them, we can expect them to look extreme. © Viral Bhayani Even his outfit had an outlandish appearance as he was seen wearing a flamboyant hoodie and coupled it with black joggers. His sneakers added some gaudy flare we would say! We must admit, KJo your flamboyance is spot on! View the full article
  16. New rumours surrounding the OnePlus 8 are already hitting the internet and a new leak suggests that the display for the pro variant is going to get a major upgrade. Currently, the OnePlus 7T series and the OnePlus 7 Pro both come with a 90Hz refresh rate display and the company has already confirmed future OnePlus phones will have at least a 90Hz display. However, the new rumour suggests that the OnePlus 8 Pro will come with a 120Hz display. © OneLeaks This is not the first time we're seeing a smartphone that comes with a 120Hz display as it is already present on a number of gaming smartphones. The ASUS ROG II phone is the latest device that comes with a 120Hz display that helps out users in gaming. Having said that, if this rumour (via PhoneArena) is true, the OnePlus 8 Pro will be the first non-gaming smartphone that will come with a 120Hz display. © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla The rumours come from tipster Max J who revealed via Twitter that the pro variant will come with the 120Hz display while the OnePlus 8 will launch with a 90Hz display. This rumour seems quite believable especially since most smartphones are expected to come with a 90Hz display nowadays. Be a "pro". pic.twitter.com/h4UwnOXn8H — Max J. 17. “Expect the unexpected” is a phrase most of us have heard at some point in our lives, but how often is it that people are actually ready for such an occasion? Almost the entire city of Lucknow was completely unprepared for Sher Khan, a cricket fan from Afghanistan who was in town for his national team's One Day International match against the West Indies. While Rashid Khan's talented but inexperienced squad fell to Kieron Pollard's men after losing by seven wickets, it turns out that it wasn't the best of days for the fan as well. West Indies won the 1st ODI under the captaincy of Kieron Pollard against Afghanistan by 7 wickets. Shai Hope and Roston Chase had a match winning partnership after losing two early wickets and Roston Chse is also the Man of the Match with a fighting score of 94 runs.#bolt pic.twitter.com/kX1f8uEWB8 — BOLT Cricket â¡ (@BoltCricket) November 6, 2019 Khan, who flew down to the City of Nawabs a day ahead of the match, was unable to find himself a place to spend the night in the whole city despite multiple hotels having vacant rooms. According to an ANI report, Khan hopped from hotel to hotel, looking for a place for himself but was refused every single time because of his 8-feet-two-inch tall built. © Twitter Disappointed in the city, a helpless Sher Khan approached the Lucknow Police for help, who took the Kabul resident to Hotel Rajdhani in Naka area and made arrangements for him to spend Tuesday night. However, that wasn't the end of the cricket fan's misery as hundreds of people gathered at the gate of Khan's hotel to get a glimpse of the man. "As many as 200 people have come to see him. He is very disturbed," hotel owner Ranu told ANI on Wednesday. Afraid for the visitor's health and personal space, the Lucknow Police took the initiative to escort him to the Ekana Stadium ahead of the first of three ODIs between the two international teams. The fact that the Lucknow Police managed the situation with such professionalism and made the Afghan visitor feel safe in an unknown city is commendable and deserves respect and recognition. While the entire city gave up on him, it was the police that had the helpless man's back. View the full article
  18. It's not the first time we're hearing a smartphone will come with a 108MP camera as Samsung announced its new ISOCELL Bright HMX sensor that was developed in partnership with Xiaomi earlier this year. We've already seen the sensor being used on the Mi Note 10 or better known as Mi CC9 Pro. © MensXP_Akshay Bhalla According to renowned Samsung tipster 'Ice Universe', the next Samsung flagship smartphone will have a 108MP sensor but will be different from what Xiaomi is using. There's a good chance that Samsung may use the 2nd generation version of the sensor for the Galaxy S11. The sensor itself is 1/1.33-inch in size and is larger than any sensor available for smartphones. It uses a 4-in-1 pixel binning method which we've seen before on smartphones with high megapixel sensors. The ISOCELL Bright HMX sensor is capable of taking low-light images in 27MP resolution. The Galaxy S11 has a high probability of using a new 108MP sensor. — Ice universe (@UniverseIce) November 4, 2019 Currently, all Samsung flagship smartphones use a 12-megapixel sensor as its primary camera and it will be a major upgrade for Samsung flagship smartphones. 19. Come Live With Me Come live with me and be my love And we will all the pleasures prove That hills and valleys, dale and field And all the craggy mountains yield There will we sit upon the rocks And see the shepherds feed their flocks By shallow rivers to whose falls Melodious birds sing madrigals There I will make thee beds of roses And a thousand fragrant posies A cap of flowers, and a kirtle Embroider’d all with leaves of myrtle A gown made of the finest wool Which from our pretty lambs we pull Fair linèd slippers for the cold With buckles of the purest gold A belt of straw and ivy buds With coral clasps and amber studs And if these pleasures may thee move Come live with me, and be my love Thy silver dishes for thy meat As precious as the gods do eat Shall on an ivory table be Prepared each day for thee and me The shepherd swains shall dance and sing For thy delight each May-morning If these delights thy mind may move Then live with me and be my love
  20. At 34 years of age, Pankaj Advani has already achieved everything there is to achieve in the world of snooker. A 23-time World Champion who has an amazing hat-trick of hat-tricks in English billiards, with the World, Asian, and Indian National Championship titles simultaneously in his name in five different years, yet the man is as humble as one can be. Always the first to extend his hand for a handshake and introduce himself even though the world knows about him, one wonders where does he get his humility and meekness from? View this post on Instagram Sport is an art. The essence of art lies in its intensity! #gameface #flashbackfriday #billiards #snooker A post shared by Pankaj Advani (@pankajadvaniofficial) on Jan 25, 2019 at 2:45am PST Pankaj's story can be traced back to when he was merely a child who was stuck at the Belgrade airport with his family when the Gulf War broke out. Scared and all out of money, afraid for their lives, they somehow managed to make it back to India. However, their suffering had not ended yet as a couple of years later, Pankaj's father expired. “That's when my mom made the conscious decision of raising the two of us (Pankaj and his elder brother, Shree) instead of working. She wanted to spend more time nurturing us,” the cueist told MensXP. Every day after school, Pankaj would follow his brother and his friends back to a snooker parlour, where he'd just watch them play for hours. For the first three weeks, he didn't even touch the cue because he was short and underaged. So he sat in a corner and tried his best to understand the game. “I am really good at observing things so I'd watch my brother play and try to understand the technicalities of the game. I would notice his stance and the way he bridged,” he said. Finally, Pankaj decided to give the game a shot. He said, “I tried to implement whatever I'd observed and when I struck the ball, it went inside the pocket and then there was no looking back.” View this post on Instagram Qualified as India number 1 for the World Billiards Championship in Myanmar in November, 2018. #billiards #worldchampionship #lookingforward A post shared by Pankaj Advani (@pankajadvaniofficial) on Oct 10, 2018 at 8:26am PDT The 23x World Champion believes that he was extremely fortunate to fall in love with the game of snooker at an early age of 11 and says that even his mother was glad that it kept them away from all the distractions children go through during their teenage years. Advani also has his school Frank Anthony Public School and college Sri Bhagawan Mahaveer Jain College to thank behind such a successful career of his. “My education was taken care of. My school and college have been really supportive of my career. When we started playing it was considered to be an unconventional sport but the best part was that our school encouraged us when they saw us succeeding. I even got to miss a few exams,” he said with a smile. View this post on Instagram In 1996, as a 11 yr old kid, I saw Arvind Savur for the first time at the Karnataka State Billiards Association. After a few weeks, I mustered the courage to ask him to coach me. He refused saying that I was too short and it would affect my technique in the long run! I was heartbroken. Few months later, surprisingly, he came up to me and said '' Now you are ready.” I was thrilled!!! Ever since he took me under his wings, I rapidly improved my game and grew as a player. Arvind Uncle has had a huge role to play in my success. He has clearly come a long way since then. Now, he believes that if there's something that needs to be said, he would say it. “I feel like If you are holding yourself back all the time, you are living in a world of pretend,” he said. It would not be after he wins a certain number of world championships or when he reached a particular age. It will happen when he believes that he is ready to retire. As a fan of Tennis legend Roger Federer, Pankaj feels that there is a need for individual athletes to think beyond their own good and work towards having a bigger impact their sport and society. It is because of this very reason that the 34-year-old has started an initiative called Cue School by Pankaj Advani, with a mission to introduce cue sports in schools and ensure that young kids get the chance to start playing as soon as possible. View this post on Instagram More pics from the launch of Cue School yesterday. Was great having top lady players @varshaa_sanjeev and @keerthana_147 inspire the kids to take up cue sport! 21. Shah Rukh Khan is an inspiration to every person who wants to make it big in Bollywood. He's the King Khan and has reached that status without any nepotism whatsoever. Even star kids can't imagine having as successful a career as him. To put it simply, his life is a dream come true for anyone and he's fully aware of it. He was recently in Delhi for the closing ceremony of the India's first multiplex, PVR Anupam which has been shut for renovation. At the venue, SRK got nostalgic about Delhi and well, his words are the kind of motivation everyone needs in their life. "Some of the things that you don't think about will happen to you and they are the best things of life. You just don't know it yet," he said recollecting the inception of his journey. I don't want to show off but I'm genuinely a dream come true. I'm a lower-middle-class boy without his parents bound to the city of glamour and become a movie star. The world has showered me with their love. This happens only in dreams but I never thought of it. I haven't believed it, I am still that Delhi boy." Still so humble and down to earth - now that's how you become one of the most loved people in the world. He took a chance and it paid off (kind of an understatement but you get the point). And he's now encouraging everyone to always, always have faith in their dreams, because no one knows when it will become a reality. He also said he never sees himself as a 'star' in Delhi, "It bores me to be a star that way. I love my job and promise to everybody that as Ajay Bijli and Sanjeev Kumar Bijli keep on making cinema theatres, I'll keep on making movies to fill them." With so much 'dream talk', he also mentioned another dream he had - to own a theatre in a five-star hotel. He said, "This was the business I wanted to do, I didn't think I'll become a movie actor." Even SRK doubts himself, and that should make everyone feel so much better about themselves, tbh. He also talked about how much he hated seeing himself on the big screen for the first time. It was the 1992 film Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman and talking about it, he recalled, "I found myself so ugly. I had such bad hair. I was doing such bad acting in front of Nana Patekar, Amrita Singh and Juhi Chawla." He went on to add, "I took the late 4.15 am flight ticket that our producers used to get for us at 25 per cent off and went to the airport, thinking I can't work in films. Aziz and Juhi convinced me that it's not that bad. The final cut would be better. Just like Ajay Bijli lied and got Yes Boss to play at this theatre, those two lied to me. I never looked better, I looked just the same." © Dharama Productions Then, he moved on to reminiscing about Delhi, because even though he doesn't live here, he's still a Delhi boy out and out. He said, "I used to roam around on the roads like guys do... My wife Gauri used to live here in Panchsheel. I have roamed around this place a lot to impress her. When I had to really woo her, I borrowed my uncle's Vespa. I remember initially one of the big things for me was 'Main Dilliwala hoon, dilwala hoon'." I love how SRK was literally like every Delhi boy ever at one point in life, that's honestly very refreshing to see. Now, with Diwali upon us, he soon has to get back to Mumbai for some family time, but he knows that "the way Dussehra, Diwali and Holi are celebrated in Delhi, they aren't celebrated anywhere else." Lastly, the biggest tie he has with Delhi is his parents, of course. Their resting place is here and getting nostalgic about the same, SRK said, "Whenever I sit in a plane from Mumbai to come to Delhi, I have one thought in my heart that my mom and dad are here. I visit them in their graveyard late at night. When they say I've become a Mumbai person, I don't know how to express it... But as much as I can leave Delhi, Delhi can't leave me because my parents are here."

In an interview with Pinkvilla, the actor revealed that there were times when he would have only Rs 18 in his account. “It used to be tough times for me. I come from a very humble middle-class background and there was a time in school when I didn't have money and my teachers paid my school fees for two years,” he said. © Balaji Motion Pictures “When I came to the city, we were living in a really small house. I was paying Rs 7000 of my share which I thought was too much. 23. When it comes to men's accessories, watches win the race hands down, and rightfully so. They no longer just serve as devices that tell you the time, but have transformed themselves into indicators of one's 'woke'-ness, when it comes to fashion consciousness. While the market is saturated with thousands of choices, the only way to steal the limelight is choosing something that is unapologetically conspicuous, while not compromising on the sophistication scale. One brand that has decoded the formula of arriving at that perfect balance, is Swatch. When Swatch launched its 'Big Bold' collection, watch enthusiasts were blessed with a line that not only was extremely fashionable, but also boasted of a rare aesthetic that was phenomenally playful. (c) Swatch (c) Swatch Armed with a massive Ø47mm watch head covered with a slightly curved glass, the Big Bold Collection stays true to what it promised. The 6 variants with unique colours proved themselves worthy enough to take the urban streetwear game to the next level. (c) Swatch (c) Swatch Encouraged by the utterly positive response, Swatch decided to collaborate with one of the leading fashion labels in the world, 'A Bathing Ape', commonly known as 'Bape'. What came out of the collab is functionally one of the coolest things that we have witnessed. (c) MensXP SwatchXBape resulted in one of the funkiest watches the world has seen - 'Big Bold Bape The World Watch'. The pre-launch global event for that was organised on the 31st of May in Tokyo. (c) Swatch The collaboration resulted in a super cool collection of 6 watches inspired by (mega)-cities and the globe, namely, Bern, London, New York City, Paris, Tokyo and the entire planet. All six models feature a newly designed signature BAPE® camo pattern as well as the Ape Head logo on the hour hand and the lower strap, while the enhanced Swatch logo is invocative of the watchmaker's debut in the 1980s. The five city watches are numbered and limited to either 983 or 1993 pieces, paying tribute to each brand's respective birth year. Together with the sixth model BIG BOLD BAPE The World, this limited-edition collection shouts out to big personalities, celebrating the world, diversity and time. However, only the World watch will be available in India. (c) Swatch The World Watch definitely counts as a piece which is a statement collectible, being a part of an exclusive limited collection with a limited number of pieces. It will be available only at the Swatch exclusive store in Palladium mall, Mumbai. Launching on the 15th of June, this limited edition piece will cost INR 9250/-. (c) Swatch All we can say is that for watch enthusiasts, this collaboration right here definitely marks one of those rare instances where two fashion giants together gave rise to something so unique yet functional, which will be appreciated by connoisseurs and novices alike.
  24. Virat Kohli is without doubt once-a-generation player of the cricketing world who has taken over every fan of the game with his charisma, angry young man attitude and most importantly the perfection in batting that the cricketer has achieved having put years and years of practice into his craft. Now, as the captain of the most influential cricketing team in the world, Kohli is in pursuit of immortalising his name amongst the greatest men of the sport through the years as he looks to bring India it's third World Cup title. And it is safe to say that the 30-year-old's determination to become a legend has already paid off well as on Wednesday, the ever so famous wax museum Madame Tussauds of London unveiled his statue at Lord's Cricket Ground in the English capital, symbolising the inception of the ICC World Cup 2019. Credit: Madame Tussauds Starting Thursday, the Indian skipper's statue will be displayed at Madame Tussauds until July 15 or the day of the final of the quadrennial tournament. Steve Davies, General Manager at Madame Tussauds London, said: “Cricket fever is set to sweep the nation in the coming weeks so what better way to unveil our new figure of Virat Kohli than with the help of our neighbours at Lord's. “We hope that cricket fans will enjoy not only watching their hero on the pitch but taking to the crease with him here at Madame Tussauds London.” The effigy also boasts of the official kit of the Men in Blue, launched especially for the 2019 World Cup alongside pairs of gloves and shoes that were donated by the cricketer himself. Tarah Cunynghame, Head of Retail & Tours at Lord's Cricket Ground, said: “Lord's is the perfect backdrop to reveal this fantastic figure of Virat Kohli on the eve of the Cricket World Cup. The anticipation of the exciting summer of cricket has already started, with thousands of visitors coming to the Ground and enjoying a tour of Lord's and around the MCC Museum." “The figure of the famous batsman will delight any cricket fans visiting Madame Tussauds London.” A man who grew up watching his inspirations such Kapil Dev and Sachin Tendulkar achieve greatness on the field, now has a statue that will be placed next to theirs says a thousand words about how far the Delhi local has come. Credit: Madame Tussauds Virat Kohli and Team India are to begin their 2019 World Cup journey on 5th June 2019 against Faf du Plessis' South African team.
