  1. Who doesn’t love compliments? Not a single person on this planet could honestly say that they don’t like compliments, even if they’d like to pretend otherwise. Well-received praise has the ability to turn a seemingly ordinary day into one of the best days of our lives. Fragrances are a bit of a hit-or-a-miss. Some can smell absolutely divine, whereas there are quite a few scents that stop just short of inspiring a migraine in others. This is why, you know when someone compliments you on your fragrance, that you’ve made your presence felt in a tasteful manner. Here are a few men sharing names of their favourite fragrances that always get them compliments: 1. “I’d bought it to be my daily perfume considering it wasn’t expensive at all, however, what really surprised me were the reactions I received from people around me. Villain Eau De Parfum is rich and spicy, which my girlfriend took to liking instantaneously. So consider me a happy customer!” - Rohit, 25 __ECOMPRODUCT__3164__ 2. "Chanel’s Platinum Egoiste’s sillage really sets it apart from other popular perfumes. Surprisingly it lasts long too. You don’t need to spray more than two spritzes at any given point." - Arshad, 31 3. "The perfume I wear changes, depending on the weather. If it’s hot, then I wear the Chanel AHEB or Aventus. For the days when it’s cold, I reach out for my Tobacco Vanille or Burberry classic." - Aakash, 29 4. "My Issey Miyake undoubtedly attracts the most compliments from people. I remember, this one time, a friend of mine leaned in for a hug and wouldn’t leave because of the way I smelled. I think that was one of the best compliments I could have received for my perfumes." - Gurkirat, 27 5. "If there’s one perfume that has got to be the star performer for me, it’s got to be my T’erre D’Hermes. Its citric notes and incredible sillage makes it perfect for a hot summer day. No matter the time of the day, I’d be smelling fresh, thanks to the way it undulates." - Roshan, 30 Which is your favourite perfume? Let us know in the comments below! View the full article
  2. Compliments, especially the ones given out in the earnest, can really add the needed punch to any relationship. Whether it’s meant for your crush you wish to take things further with or the date you’re trying to impress, well-meant compliments can really help you up your game and get the desired results. But unlike popular knowledge, not all those sweet-sounding ‘compliments’ sit well with women and instead come across as inappropriate or even insulting at times. So the idea is to either avoid such statements altogether, or keep it simple and straight-foward. Here are seven such commonly mis-used compliments men use, which women find rather insulting. 1. “You Look Pretty When You Smile” © Pexels This one is a straight-up no-go statement. What this sounds like is that when your crush/date/partner is not smiling, they don’t look as good, or worse look ugly. Secondly, it’s rather off-putting to expect someone to smile at a command or even most of the time. Instead, try sticking to a simple, “I love your smile”, “your smile is so heart-tugging”. 2. “I Love How Confident You Are About Going Au Naturel” © Pexels When guys say this, it’s pretty much like validating society’s twisted beauty standards for women and how they expect women to look perfect all the time. So just because the girl you’re into decided to go bare face and step out in a simple tee and jeans, doesn’t mean she has done something daring and needs to be called ‘confident’ for loving herself regardless of people’s prejudices. 3. “Your Social Profile Picture Is Amazing” © Pexels Err...this implies that they don’t look “as amazing” in real life. Unless that’s exactly what you wanted to say, this is surely going to backfire. It might seem as if you’re trying to say they look nothing like their “online version” or perhaps that the “filter” changed things a good deal and you’re kind of unhappy about what’s being served. You don’t mean to say that, do you? 4. “You Drive Really Well For A Woman” © Pexels As a rule, let’s just say you must steer clear of any and every sentence that begins or ends with “for a woman”. This shows a clear case of bias that claims women are ‘less of a man’ and is definitely sexist for more than one reason. While most guys will say they have never used such a “compliment”, you will be surprised by how commonly it is used by so-called “polished” men. It’s just insulting to say the least. 5. “You Sure Love Your Food/Love To Eat” © Pexels Most likely, the woman you’re trying to compliment will feel insecure about eating out with you next time because to her it would seem like her food choices and eating habits can become a point of discussion in your relationship. And honestly nobody wants to be told that they eat a lot, even as a compliment. 6. “This New Dress/Hair/Make-Up Is Making You Look Younger” © Pexels This simply translates into something which seems like you’re trying to say they looked old before, or mature or even boring in some sense. In such cases it’s best to give out a simple compliment such as “this new dress/hair/make-up looks good on you/suits you well.” 7. “You’re So Good-Looking, How Are You Still Single?” © Pexels Firstly, that’s like using singlehood as an insult. Please try and avoid. Secondly, while it’s obvious you’re trying to tell them they are good-looking, you might be indirectly implying that something else must be wrong with them if they are still single despite such good looks. Not to mention, the compliment is too superficial in any case. There you go, those were some of the most commonly misused compliments. Have you tried any of these before? Well, now you know why you need to avoid them in the future. View the full article
  3. Movie makers formulate different strategies to market the films. From Ranveer Singh wearing bizarre outfits to Tiger Shroff showing off his hot bod, to no promotions at all, we've seen a range of things. 'Kalank' has come out with a super-unique marketing strategy which comprises of having the on-screen couples wear the same colour. Initially, it seemed like it was a one-off promo event coordination but turns out this going to stay here for a while. 'Kalank' is a period film, set in pre-independent India. An elite family's internal conflict sets in motion a bigger communal struggle. So obviously, according to the theme of the movie, the characters are always spotted in fancy ethnic clothes. Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt look for Kalank's song premiere, 'First Class': © Viral Bhayani This might be a coincidence or it's a planned move. If you look at the history of targeting events, you realise it's definitely a planned move. Twinning in the same solid shade and yet at the same time keeping everything else different, makes you look together and yet your individual personalities are fleshed out well. © Viral Bhayani Especially for a shaadi, where you want to look like you belong together and yet not wear anything extreme, matching the base colour is a great option. Take a look at the rest of the Kalank cast: Madhuri Dixit and Sanjay Dutt © Viral Bhayani and Sonakshi Sinha and Aditya Roy Kapur © Viral Bhayani This planned discoordination is the sneaky PDA that everyone will admire this year.
  4. MS Dhoni's recent success has been nothing short of an inspirational narrative which spoke of the return of the one who's been called a 'has been' for a really long time now. His ability to be at an elite level both behind and in front of the stumps as a wicketkeeper and a batsman is worth all the compliments that the former Indian captain is getting right now. While Dhoni made headlines after a consistent and grand performance during the ODI series in Australia which eventually won him the Man of the Series award for two game-winning innings in the second and third games in Adelaide and Melbourne respectively, he also caught the attention of probably the last person you could think about in the sports and entertainment industry. After the ODI series win against Australia, ICC Cricket World Cup's official twitter handle paid their respects to the Indian veteran by tweeting this out: Eat. Sleep. Finish games. Repeat. Life as @msdhoni. ð pic.twitter.com/5GXrzH0dtR — Cricket World Cup (@cricketworldcup) January 18, 2019 The tweet read: “Eat, Sleep, Finish games, Repeat. Life as @msdhoni.” referring to Dhoni's iconic ability to finish games for the Indian cricket team by hitting the ball for a six of a four. Having said that, there is someone else who has the similar ability to end matches with literally a huge blow to their opponents, WWE superstar Brock Lesnar. Also known as 'The Beast Incarnate', Lesnar is famous for some of the greatest bouts in the WWE like the Wrestlemania XXX match against The Undertaker, in which he finally broke The Deadman's streak. As one of the most dominating forces of wrestling, Lesnar lives by a single rule: “Eat, Sleep, Conquer, Repeat”. This phrase was the brainchild of Lesnar's manager and spokesperson, Paul Heyman, who does his job exceptionally well in keeping Lesnar relevant even when he is not competing. EAT SLEEP CONQUER REPEAT! @BrockLesnar @WWE @WWEUniverse No apologies offered! pic.twitter.com/59WzNL59DB — Paul Heyman (@HeymanHustle) January 11, 2014 So, when the Cricket World Cup posted the tweet about Dhoni, Heyman was quick to respond with this cheeky message of his own: My most (in)sincere compliments to @cricketworldcup for promoting the amazing @msdhoni by paraphrasing my mantra for @WWE #UniversalChampion @BrockLesnar #EatSleepConquerRepeat. Our royalties may be paid in cash, check, stock or cryptocurrency. https://t.co/sGtIALzso1 — Paul Heyman (@HeymanHustle) January 18, 2019 While paying his respects to the Indian batsman, Heyman threw a jab at the Twitter account of Cricket World Cup saying that the they paraphrased his 'mantra' to promote Dhoni, while jokingly mentioning that he would take royalty in cash, cheque, stock or even cryptocurrency. Obviously a light-hearted prank, Heyman's tweet is just an example of his ability to create buzz of out thin air. He has been one of the most entertaining performers of the WWE without even being a wrestler and has gained a fan-following from all over the world, even Indians who seemed to be pleasantly stung by Heyman's reply: Please become MSD's advocate — Shreyas Gurudatt (@SpyderSG209) January 18, 2019 Since u have used d word" amazing" for Dhoni...We can shower only "love" for u. No cash, cheque or crypto. — sanjay kis prasad (@theskpd) January 19, 2019 @KarthikRaju4 look at this ! Imagine msd being introduced by Heyman ! ðâ¤ï¸â¤ï¸â¤ï¸ — lalit_pnl (@lalitp_3) January 19, 2019 Wow. Here is a mashup I never thought would happen @Rama21989 — Rakshit Chopra (@rakshit_chopra) January 18, 2019 Thank you paul heyman for applausing indias greatest finisher ever. Dhoni the GOD OF FINISHER. — chandra sekhar (@chandra53646645) January 20, 2019

  6. Sometimes the best way to make a woman's day is by saying the right things and using the right words. Don't believe me? Try this on your girlfriend once a while and see the mood change, if she's in a bad one that is. Or even otherwise, bestow her with kind words and a compliment once a while. Women are usually competitive with one another and our egos fuel us to be even more driven and capable from the rest and usually with the boyfriend, it's a fear of being walked all over like a doormat. So there is a constant push to prove ourselves from time to time, with everything around. So you men out there can make it way easier by complimenting us women every now and then. Now there are various compliments you can dole out but the unconventional ones that really matter go a long way with us women folk. So if you wanna earn some extra brownie points, maybe these kind words will pave your way? P.S: Say it like you mean it though! “You're Superb At Your Job” In today's day and age women really want some sort of career encouragement especially from their significant other. It isn't just a positive push but it dials down any sort of competitive nature she may think you have with her or otherwise. Besides a man praising a woman about her work is rare and quite something! (c)Pexels “You're A Strong Woman” Telling a woman she's strong is really appreciated. There is a lot of truth in this though. Women may be a little more emotional than men but they're strong creatures that can endure hardships at any given day. So flex your emotional muscle a tad and tell your girl how you appreciate her strength. Whether it's her strong political beliefs or her ability to work hard and take care of things around, let her know your appreciation for her inner strength. (c)Pexels “You're A Good Friend” We really value our friendships. Yes we do! We love to solve each other's messed up lives and later maybe gossip about it a little! Whatever it is, we've proved to be very efficient and dedicated friends so we would love it if you could recognise and appreciate our ardent ways of being a good friend. So next time your girl is being a good supportive friend, let her know! (c)Pexels “I am Proud Of You” Okay this compliment can get tricky. It could be mistaken as being patronising sometimes. So when you tell your woman you're proud of her make it seem like you're saying it out of a place of admiration and pride and not as an expectation. This one's an important one though, if said right. Remember, how you deliver the words is of supreme importance. (c)Pexels “My Friends & Family Really Like You” We sure as hell don't need anyone's approval but you could make us feel a part of your tribe once in a while too. We could use the knowledge of your friends thinking we're pretty damn swell. Sometimes there is a huge grey area around 'whether or not his friends like me or what they think of me'. You can break the ice and tell her that your friends love her and make her smile just on that thought. (c)Pexels “You're Smart” Of course we know we're smart and we're sure men are no longer intimidated by smart women, right? Come on guys, its 2017! Just once a while praise your girl's intellect. They're not just beautiful with a great bod, they're a lot more than that and let them know that. (c)Pexels “You're Funny” So, it's not just a guy thing to be funny. It can be either way. If you're laughing at her jokes, she's funny. As simple as that. And be sure to let her know that once a while. I'm sure she tells you how funny you are when she laughs mindlessly at your jokes! “I am So Lucky To Have You” This is one of the most endearing things to hear. I mean if you weren't lucky to have her, you wouldn't be with her right? So saying it loud out of sheer affection isn't a bad thing at all. She probably knows it already and thinks the same about you but you do know how lucky you are at the end of the day! Let her know. Say the words...don't just think them. (c)Pexels You can also go on a roll of you're sexy, you're beautiful, you're so hot or you're a good driver or a good cook but the above mentioned compliments are a bit more unconventional and are rarely said out loud. So whenever you do get a chance, say them out loud and make her feel special. What say?

  8. Compliments are a must. And when they're fake and don't mean anything, the thrill of the lottery shoots to another level! Fashion week (as usual) is witness to style goof-ups, pretentious as hell fashionistas and everyone who is anyone, trying way too hard to network. Result? Fake compliments, small talk galore and run-of-the-mill flatter. Decoding 8 of our favourite one-liners from Day 1. Hit it! 1. Who: Designers complementing each other, "That collection looked amazing, the colours were so fresh." What he means: “Yuck! Your colours look like pigeon poop!” 2. Who: Regular fashion week goer to another, "That hair colour looks amazing. Where did you get it done?" What she means: “Bald patch!” 3. Who: Very very important designer, "You've really lost a lot of weight babe." What he means: “Wow, she’s still packing up on the aloo parathas!” 4. Who: Male model: "Oh my god, this mesh top looks amazing on you. Where did you get it from?" What he means: “Bro, you need umm...hit the cardio, NOW!” 5. Who: Snooty social networkers to one another, “See you soon!” What he means: “See you, never!” 6. Who: Wannabe model, “Oh, I know her really well…” What he means: “She hasn’t returned my calls since 200-late!” 7. Who: Established model to a newbie, “Oh my god, you look so healthy!” What she means: “There she goes with her second helping of curry chawal!”
