L Murugan was recently appointed as Minister of State for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Information Broadcasting. However, this news didn’t change the minds of his parents as they continue to toil in the fields of Tamil Nadu to make a living. Before Murugan became the Union Minister, he was Tamil Nadu BJP President. His parents, Loganathan and Varudammal live in the small village of Konur in Tamil Nadu's Namakkal district. Read this report to believe it . Son @Murugan_MoS is a MOS in PM Sri @narendramodi cabinet. Parents are proud but continue their work for living . pic.twitter.com/Wx0d5wsL5M — B L Santhosh (@blsanthosh) July 18, 2021 As per a report in TOI, the couple is living independently. It is also reported that Loganathan and Varudammal belong to the Arunthathiyar community, which is a Dalit subsect. The couple live in a tiny house and were working in the fields when they heard that their son will become a minister. Talking to a reporter, Varudammal said that he didn’t do anything to make his son’s careers reach heights and she is proud of him. She also said that they supported their son’s education with borrowed funds and their own hard work. Murugan is a lawyer and studied law at Dr Ambedkar Law College in Chennai. He also became a member of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. While he was practicing law, he represented BJP in many cases. The couple doesn’t believe in changing their attitude even though their son has reached great heights. They still firmly believe in staying independent and want to keep working in the fields. As soon as the news started doing the rounds of the Internet, reactions from all across the country started pouring in. Here’s what people have to say about this- Proud of living....
