  1. The 2019 Pakistan Super League (PSL) ended on a high note when Quetta Gladiators successfully chased down Peshawar Zalmi's below average total of 138 runs in just 17.5 overs to claim their first ever title in the Twenty20 league's history. The Man of the Match award was given to Pakistan's Mohammad Hasnain who was able to snap three wickets while giving up 30 runs in his four overs. Quetta's Ahmed Shehzad led the team's batting order with his 58-on-51 delivery performance as former Aussie captain Shane Watson was dismissed early in the game with a run-out at the hands of Umar Amin. However, the highlight of the evening came after the match was over when, from the crowd of 32,000 cricket fanatics present at the National Stadium in Karachi, emerged an internationally familiar face of a different sport. During the closing ceremony of the 2019 PSL former FIFA World Cup winner and Barcelona FC captain Carles Puyol was brought to the stage followed by a collective roar of cheer coming from the stands. I'm very happy to be here.” “I thought Pakistanis only liked cricket but I have seen they like football a lot also and it made me happy,” continued the footballer in Spanish while addressing the capacity crowd. While the sporting fans of Pakistan were overjoyed with the presence of such a well known international figure in their stadium, not everyone on Twitter were able to believe their eyes. Lmao wtf is Carlos Puyol doing at the PSL Final in Karachi?!!! #MadRespectTho — ð»ðð¦ð (@daudthepaki) March 17, 2019 Carlos Puyol in Pakistan. 2. For someone who moved from Pakistan to Down Under at a young age, Usman Khawaja has undeniably come a long way to become a vital cog in the Australian set-up. Ever since becoming the first Muslim to play for the Aussies in the Sydney Test during 2011 Ashes series, the left-hander has managed to cement his position in the Australian side on the back of consistent performances. When it comes to his batting, the Australian batsman thrives on the composure and patience he has developed over the years to build his innings. And, that is not derived from the countless hours spent in the nets. In fact, Khawaja mastered the art of discipline - something that's a must for any sportsperson - through his stint at the University of New South Wales - School of Aviation. Yep, you read that right. The Australian cricketer is also a qualified pilot after getting both his degree and licence to fly airplanes. And, he put his flying skills to test by taking control of Airbus A380 - the world's largest passenger aircraft - recently. Watch as qualified pilot Usman Khawaja puts his flying skills to the test, taking control of the largest passenger aircraft in the world!@Uz_Khawaja | @Qantas pic.twitter.com/gg8MerqebM — cricket.com.au (@cricketcomau) February 20, 2019 In a video shared on Twitter, the 32-year-old was seen handling himself quite expertly in the cockpit, his only blemish being a slightly rough landing. Confessing his love for flying, Khawaja said: "I travelled a lot as a kid. My dad worked in Saudi Arabia for about 5-6 years, so I use to travel back and forth to see them and then come back here to play cricket". guess this means they cant drop him for ashes because hes the one flying them over? — Blake Robinson (@Robbo_1990) February 20, 2019 "I just grew a fascination with planes. As I was coming towards the end, year 11-12, I thought 'what about flying'. I found UNSW (University of New South Wales - School of Aviation), which offered both a degree to make my mother happy and get my licence to get my wings," Khawaja said. Talking about how flying helped him in his cricketing endeavours, Khawaja revealed: "I think flying helped me a lot in terms of cricket. Probably the biggest way was discipline and keeping up with the learning, making sure you are on top of any changes that has happened. There are a lot of things that go hand in hand between flying and especially playing Test cricket. The discipline part of flying and discipline of being a sportsman, especially being a cricketer and being a batsman, I think there are a lot of similarities". Till flying simulator is fine but please don't give him real aircraft with passenger else be ready for Australian version of 9/11. — Abhishek Tripathi (@abhishekt2009) February 20, 2019 While many sportspersons are clueless about their choices post retirement, the Australian batsman seems to have that area covered pretty well. After acing the flying test, Khawaja will now have to back it up on the cricket field when Australia lock horns with India in two Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is) and five One-Day Internationals (ODIs), slated to begin from 24th February.
  3. A chat show which is supposed to entertain the audience ended up leaving a bitter taste for all the fans of 'Koffee With Karan'. When Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul made their much hyped, much awaited appearance on KJo's show, fans were eager to see some bromance and hear some dressing room secrets of the men in blue. However, the comments and remarks made by cricketer Hardik Pandya were regarded as sexist, misogynistic and plain tasteless in nature. Hardik Pandya : When i lost my virginity, i told them, "Mai Aj kar kay aya ho" pic.twitter.com/6HfX0zRWHy — Thakur (@ThakurHassam) January 6, 2019 This is just an iota of the confidence that was shown by Hardik on the show which upset the viewers to a limit that only did BCCI had to take action against them and impose a ban, but the episode had to be pulled down as well. Amidst this wave of controversy, the host himself was mum for quite a while until recently when he opened up on the episode and issued his own apology for the same. Karan Johar breaks his silence for the 1st time post Hardik Pandya & KL Rahul controversy on his #KoffeeWithKaran show. Full interview #ComingUp only on ET NOW. Stay tuned! #Davos @karanjohar @SupriyaShrinate @hardikpandya7 @klrahul11 #WEF2019 @wef pic.twitter.com/HERG69Jq5r — ET NOW (@ETNOWlive) January 23, 2019 Karan clearly mentioned that he regrets what happened to the boys and justified that how anyone associated with the episode had nothing to complain about it but being a responsible person, he wanted to share his two cents on it. The controversy cost the boys a ban from the India-Australia series which they were initially supposed to play. Even though Hardik issued an apology on social media, people were actually done with his thoughts.
  4. One of the most neglected factors when it comes to making progress in terms of fitness that people ignore is stress. Many a times, people who struggle with their fitness goals are going through some sort of stress in their life. Most people make the mistake of ignoring this factor but once you start managing stress better, other things start falling into place more easily. How Stress Works © Pixabay Trying to make progress in your fitness levels while being chronically stressed is like pushing your motorbike to the place that you want to ride it to. You might reach there but it would be a hell lot harder than if you would have ridden it. The reason behind it is that your body's sympathetic nervous system is stuck in "on" mode. It's like your body's smoke alarm is constantly going off which basically makes it's very hard for you to focus on anything and it depletes your will as well. The Peace Killing Hormone Is Friends With Stress Being stressed also makes your body produce a hormone called cortisol which has been linked to triggering cravings for comfort foods and eventually, food binges. Stress also depletes the energy you use to exert self-control. For example, if you are having a bad day at the office and someone offers you a piece of cake, you'll find it a lot harder to not eat it. Our impulse control takes a hit when we feel distressed, so we look for ways to feel better and that piece of cake looks like a very good alternative. How To Tackle Stress 1) The first and the foremost thing that you should do is that you should admit that you are stressed out. Only then you will look for a remedy to your problem. 2) Once, that is out of the picture, you should scale back a little. May be cut down on the number of sessions you work out every week and start dedicating your time towards an activity that you enjoy doing. This will help alleviate the stress of trying to do too much at once. 3) If you are trying to lose weight and the weight on the scale is stuck, remember, weight is just a number. Giving it too much importance can be stressful. There are many more factors to consider when it comes to tracking “fat loss” like taking your measurement, taking photos of yourself regularly, and looking at how your clothes fit you, etc. © Thinkstock 4) You should also look at adding activities which can relax you mentally and physically like yoga and meditation. These activities only take a few minutes of your time rather than hours and can go a long way de-stressing you. Taking care of yourself and it does not only include fitness and nutrition, take up a hobby or do an activity that you like doing, as doing things that you like reduces stress and keeps you active which in turn helps you live a happy life along with a healthy one.
