ADMIN posted a blog entry in FDF Online NewsThis season of Indian Premier League has never been short of controversies right from the outset. From Ravi Ashwin's 'mankading' controversy to the 'no-ball' controversy in the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) versus Mumbai Indians (MI) game, it has seen it all. And now, in the 10th match of the season, fans on social media speculated that Indian Test wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant was involved a match-fixing scandal during the contest between Delhi Capitals (DC) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), on Saturday. As per reports, Pant was caught on the stump mic, saying “yeh to waise bhi chaukka hai (this is going to go for a four)” in the fourth over when KKR's Robin Uthappa was on strike. On the very next ball, Robbie hit the ball for a four off Nepal leg-spinner Sandeep Lamichhane, to get off the mark. The video of the incident went viral on social media with many fans questioning Pant on how he knew the result of the delivery even before the ball was bowled. However, the BCCI has dismissed all claims regarding the comment made by Pant. © AP “No one heard what Rishabh said before that particular sentence. He was apparently telling (Delhi Capitals captain) Shreyas Iyer to increase fielders on off-side to stop an imminent four,” a BCCI official told PTI. The BCCI official added that a young cricketer like Rishabh Pant shouldn't have been maligned in such a way on social media. “Maligning a young cricketer without even knowing the details is so unfortunate. A section of media allowed the social media to insinuate and vilify a young talent without getting into details. This is so disgusting,” the official added. Eventually, DC went on to win the match in the Super Over after finishing on 185/6 while chasing 186 for victory. Are social media trials getting too harsh? Let us know in the comments section.
KJo Apologises Over Hardik Pandya Controversy & Says He Feels Responsible But It Was Beyond His Control
ADMIN posted a blog entry in FDF Online NewsA chat show which is supposed to entertain the audience ended up leaving a bitter taste for all the fans of 'Koffee With Karan'. When Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul made their much hyped, much awaited appearance on KJo's show, fans were eager to see some bromance and hear some dressing room secrets of the men in blue. However, the comments and remarks made by cricketer Hardik Pandya were regarded as sexist, misogynistic and plain tasteless in nature. Hardik Pandya : When i lost my virginity, i told them, "Mai Aj kar kay aya ho" pic.twitter.com/6HfX0zRWHy — Thakur (@ThakurHassam) January 6, 2019 This is just an iota of the confidence that was shown by Hardik on the show which upset the viewers to a limit that only did BCCI had to take action against them and impose a ban, but the episode had to be pulled down as well. Amidst this wave of controversy, the host himself was mum for quite a while until recently when he opened up on the episode and issued his own apology for the same. The 2-Min 'Sridevi Bungalow' Teaser Has Priya Prakash Varrier Swimming In A Pool Of Controversy
ADMIN posted a blog entry in FDF Online NewsPriya Prakash Varrier has done it again. With just one video, she has broken the internet, only this time it wasn't a wink but the teaser of her upcoming Bollywood movie. © Instagram In case you didn't know, Priya Prakash Varrier is making her Bollywood debut with 'Sridevi Bungalow', which is being said to be based on late actress Sridevi's life (although it's not confirmed). This almost 2-minute (1 minute 49 seconds to be precise) video has already created a storm online, with people trolling the makers of the film and Priya for choosing this film. Here's the teaser that shook the internet. Directed by Malayalam filmmaker Prasanth Mambully, 'Sridevi Bungalow' is reportedly made on a budget of Rs. 70 crore. Apparently, Boney Kapoor has even sent a legal notice to the makers of 'Sridevi Bungalow'. Mambully said, "We received a legal notice from Mr Boney Kapoor last week. And we will face it, I want to. My film is a suspense thriller. I told him (Boney Kapoor) that Sridevi is a common name. My film's character also happens to be an actress. We will face it (the legal case)." © Aaraat Entertainments From attending parties to signing autographs for fans, the teaser shows the protagonist, Sridevi leading a lavish lifestyle of a superstar. Although it's not confirmed whether the movie is based on her life or not, the fact that the character's name is Sridevi and her lying in the bathtub at the end of the teaser (hinting at Sridevi's accidental drowning/ mysterious death in Dubai), raises a lot of eyebrows. The film does not have a release date yet. Recently, Priya was seen chilling with Vicky Kaushal and Ranveer Singh at the screening of 'Uri'.
ADMIN posted a blog entry in FDF Online NewsThe Indian cricket team, recently, has been churning out some really fresh talent. It all started with selecting Prithvi Shaw for the England tour, and then Mayank Agarwal was called up in the middle of the Australian tour. And now, here comes another young prodigy, Shubman Gill, who will join the Men in Blue for the New Zealand tour. It all came as a surprise to the 19-year-old youngster, who got the news late at night and straight away rushed to his father, Lakhwinder Singh, to share the same. Going for a practice session the next day, it was totally a different ball game for the rookie, as he couldn't believe that he would be sharing the dressing room with the likes of MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli. © Instagram Both Vijay Shankar and Shubman Gill have been added to the squad as replacements for the suspended Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul. While Vijay was expected to earn his maiden ODI call-up sooner than later, Gill's came as a surprise. He surely has proven his worth by scoring for India A on numerous occasions in 2018/19 but still, making it to the Indian National Team, and that too this soon, was something even he wouldn't have expected. From Kolkata Knight Riders to India A, to Ranji Trophy, this young star has grabbed every single opportunity on his way to glory. Scoring an impressive 1,089 runs in just 9 Ranji matches this year, he has given the critics a run for their money. And as destiny serves its best, there could be no better place for him to make his debut than in New Zealand. Performing well in the Under 19 World Cup, followed by the India A tour, both of which were in New Zealand, he has had a cumulative total of 434 runs (including a century against Pakistan in the Semi-Final) in mere eight matches with an average of 54.25, which proves that this lion can surely roar in the Kiwis' paradise. © Instagram “It is a big advantage (to be picked for the New Zealand tour). I played well there in the U-19 World Cup and now again I have got the opportunity. As I have done well there, I can say that there isn't much adjustment needed in the technique. If I get an opportunity, I will have just need to handle the pressure that comes with playing for India. Mentally, it will be different for sure but I am ready,” Gill told PTI on Sunday after getting the news of his life, late last night. Now, with the opportunity being provided to him on a silver platter, let's hope that the young Shubman Gill capitalizes on this chance of a lifetime.
ADMIN posted a blog entry in FDF Online NewsAt a time when the comments made by Indian cricketers Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul at film director and actor Karan Johar's talk show, 'Koffee With Karan' have made for one of the most trending issues buzzing all around, a lot of people were wondering what the Indian skipper, VIrat Kohli, had to say about the whole matter. After the 24-hour show cause notice levied by BCCI during which Pandya and Rahul were ordered to present their justification towards the indecent remarks made by the duo at the chat show, both the cricketers have been banned for two ODI matches upon the recommendations made by the Committee of Administrations Chairman, Vinod Rai. In the latest occurrence, the captain of the Indian cricket team, Virat Kohli, who had kept himself completely aloof of the whole issue, finally spoke on behalf of the entire squad. “We, definitely, as the Indian cricket team do not support views like that and that has been communicated,” Kohli said in a media coverage at the Sydney Cricket Ground ahead of the three-game ODI series against Australia. “I can definitely say that as the Indian cricket team and responsible cricketers we definitely don't align with those views and those are purely individual views.” But the additional comments made by Kohli is what makes him a great team leader. In an atmosphere of high tension where everyone is shaming Pandya and Rahul, Virat while showing his disagreement to their comments, didn't abandon them. “... the two concerned players felt what has gone wrong and they have understood the magnitude of what's happened,” Kohli didn't forget to mention. “Definitely, it has to hit anyone hard, they will definitely understand the things that have not gone right.” Kohli's take on the entire issue speaks volumes about his evolution as an aware captain. He feels responsible for his team both on and off the field and has been with them during the harshest of times. It's time for ODI cricket. Who do you reckon will lift this trophy after the end of the 3rd game.#AUSvIND pic.twitter.com/ESskDamvDj — BCCI (@BCCI) January 11, 2019 Consecutively, the absence of the two extremely talented cricketers, especially the all-rounder in Hardik Pandya will leave a deep void in the roster, filling which will be a real task for the team. Meanwhile, Hotstar, the mobile app broadcasting Karan Johar's show has taken down the episode featuring the vexed cricketing duo.
