  1. The Khurana brothers are perhaps the most stylish siblings in Bollywood right now, and even though Ayushmann usually is the forerunner in terms of kickass style moves, Aparshakti is not far behind at all. He just demonstrated it once again with his accessory game, by wearing an industrial belt that's more than 6 Feet 7 Inches in length. Take a look. © Viral Bhayani © Viral Bhayani Aparshakti is wearing the Off-White industrial yellow belt that was showcased first during Virgil Abloh's Fall-Winter collection in 2016. The yellow belt runs a super extra length of 205 cm and has an adjustable metal buckle. Of course, he had to wrap it around 2-3 times. © Hypebeast Off-White is famous for creating pieces that set the wearer apart in a crowd, and this clearly is one of those statement pieces of accessories. The fact that Aparshakti is wearing it with a basic black T-shirt and a relaxed pair of black trousers, shows that the man understands the nuances of subtle street style. © Viral Bhayani © Viral Bhayani Coming to how much it costs, the belt is worth 211 USD, which when converted to NR comes close to about Rs 15,000. But when one piece can transform your entire ensemble, we guess it's worth it after all.
  2. Aero India is a biennial event happening in India since 1996, and the program has slowly gained a lot of momentum. These trade shows are a perfect platform for companies to show-off their offerings, and in a rapidly developing market like India, the possibilities are limitless. While India has shared deeper roots with the then-USSR in terms of defence and aviation acquisitions, the tides are slowly turning. India is among the top defence equipment importers in the world, and with nascent domestic aviation manufacturing, targeting India as a potential customer is natural. For the aviation geeks out there, the show is a mesmerising experience. Not only does it offer newer civilian aircraft, but also demonstrates the capability of India's armed forces. This year, more than fifty aircrafts were on static display at Aero India. Aerobatic performances were held by numerous aircrafts, and we've listed down our favourites. 1. Dassault Rafale © MensXP / Shivam Vahia The Rafale has become a household name in India now, but keeping aside the political controversies, it is among the most capable multirole fighter planes out there. It can perform air superiority, reconnaissance, ground support, as well as nuclear deterrence. The French Air Force primarily operates it, and Indian Air Force has placed an order of 36 aircraft. © MensXP / Shivam Vahia The French Air Force (regionally called Armée de l'air) brought a couple of their Rafale's at Aero India, and they undoubtedly attracted the most people. The delta wing design provides higher maneuverability and the jet can reach a maximum speed of Mach 1.8 (1,900 km/h). It can also go as slow as 213km/h and take off as well as land on aircraft carriers. It is a symbol of French engineering and carries forward the legacy of Dassault's Mirage 2000 jets. 2. Sukhoi 30MKI © MensXP / Shivam Vahia It is a 4.5-generation air superiority aircraft developed by Russia and India has more than 250 of them in service. With state of the art avionics and thrust vectoring nozzles, it can perform a cobra manoeuvre in which it suddenly raises the nose momentarily to the vertical position and slightly beyond. This lets it reduce air speed instantly, providing an edge in air-to-air combat. © MensXP / Shivam Vahia The Indian variant can carry a BrahMos supersonic missile and employs a variety of weapons for ground-based offensive as well. It can also fly at double the speed of sound and pick up enemy at ranges in excess of 200kms. 3. LCA Tejas © MensXP / Shivam Vahia It is an indigenously developed aircraft and the first squadron was raised in July 2016. The complete structure is made of composite materials to reduce weight and increase performance. Just like the Rafale, it has a delta wing design for increased maneuverability. The air show depicted its exceedingly high rate of climb along with sharp turns to provide an edge in air-to-air combat. It features a complete glass cockpit along with a heads-up display and fly by wire technology for simpler handling. Aero India 2019 dazzled when Tejas rose to the sky, thundering amidst the much hyped Rafale and staple warhorse Sukhoi. 4. C17 Globemaster III © MensXP / Shivam Vahia Transport aircrafts like the C17 were another spectacular sight. United States Air Force brought their giant from Pearl Harbour, along with the P-8I Poseidon. The plane is made by Boeing and features four engines that enable it to carry more than 77,000 kgs of cargo. © MensXP / Shivam Vahia The plane has multiple roles and can perform troop drop, strategic airlifting as well as relief operations. The Indian Air Force currently has 10 of these and they play a crucial role in maintaining logistics supply to the remote parts of the country. 5. Airbus A330neo © MensXP / Shivam Vahia The Airbus A320neo have become a common sight in India thanks to a huge operational fleet of IndiGo, GoAir, Vistara, and Air India. The A330 is a wide-body aircraft that can carry up to 400 people in a single class configuration. The "NEO" stands for New Engine Option and new Rolls Royce Trent 7000 engines are extremely efficient in terms of operating costs. So far, only three have been built and the first scheduled flight of the A330 will be operated to Mumbai. The cockpit looks very similar to the A350 and the two share a lot of common design elements.
  3. Every 80s or 90s kid has seen at least one Star Wars movie if not the entire series, which although consists of a lot of chapters, is worth a session of binge-watching (other than 'Solo', do NOT watch 'Solo'). Other than the fact that the series introduced us to one of the most iconic bad guys in Darth Vader and the wisest philosopher and master period, in Yoda, the elaborate lightsaber duels between the good and the evil was a primary reason for the geeks and nerds to stay up all night in long lines just to buy the movie tickets to the George Lucas classics. The whole concept of energy swords used for melee combats or for deflecting blaster bolts has been timeless and is one of the ideal weapons to have during the time of an apocalypse (personal choice). © AP Anyhow, it appears as if the Frenchmen responsible for sports in the country are bigger Star War geeks than the rest of the world took them to be. A nation of sword-fighting and fencing fans, France has officially recognised lightsaber dueling as a real sport. Believe it or not, the French Fencing Federation took this decision to encourage the younger generation to participate in the game instead of staying glued to their mobile phones and video game consoles. © AP “With young people today, it's a real public health issue,” federation secretary general Serge Aubailly told AP. “They don't do any sport and only exercise with their thumbs. It's becoming difficult to (persuade them to) do a sport that has no connection with getting out of the sofa and playing with one's thumbs.” Here are the two basic rules of lightsaber dueling: Rule 1: Before each blow, the lightsaber's tip must be brought backwards. Rule 2: Fighters have the option of waving the whole lightsaber, from tip to hilt, behind them or to their sides. That's not all. The Jedi-Sith dueling inspired 'sport' can soon make an appearance at the Olympics in the coming years as well. © AP ”We wanted it to be safe, we wanted it to be umpired and, most of all, we wanted it to produce something visual that looks like the movies, because that is what people expect,” tournament organiser Michel Ortiz told AP in Paris. Get your passports ready guys. Time to move to France. May the Force be with you.
  4. We do not live in the same city and yet manage to spend more time together than couples living in the same zip code. We end up flying almost every weekend to see each other, either in Mumbai or Delhi. All other times, we meet directly at the holiday destination (not in the same city to travel together for a holiday, we just land up there separately). In our two-and-a-half-year-old relationship, we would have taken a combined total of at least 150 flights, visited 8 countries and many cities in India just to spend time with each other- Gaurang (c)Instagram While every couple strives the hardest to make a relationship work, there are a few who go an extra mile to make sure their relationship is nothing short of extraordinary. And the couples who usually do that have a tough situation at hand and they certainly work towards the odds, to perceive it as nothing less than spectacular. For us, every relationship does circumvent its way around to make it spectacular. If you've made it long enough and are true to each other, then why shouldn't you brag about it? I mean that, in the most non-cynical banter ever. Today, relationships are moulded out of uncertainty, where a 'right swipe' takes you far away from basic reality of a relationship which should ideally be working on strong will and a lot of determination. And if there are couples making it work through the thick and thin of everything, without using distractions as a tool to temporarily sabotage an equation, then they're definitely worth a mention. (c)Instagram Meet one such couple, who has realised the importance of sticking together, even though they have miles between them, in a generation that thinks working extra-hard on a dynamic is rather redundant and superfluous, with frivolity ruling the roost, of every heart, today. Here's introducing Gaurang and Saachi, who defy that theory fairly often. The two met through a common friend, back in 2011, when they were still in college and when Blackberry phones were the endgame for a lot of couples back then. The first interaction was, of course, exchanging BBM pins. We actually lived through the "BBM age" in 2011. We used to chat for 7-8 hours every day till it got to a point where we risked finger tendonitis. - Gaurang (c)Instagram Favourite Memory So Far Both of them have been bitten by the travel bug and have made their favourite memories together from their indulgences in different places. The first time Saachi proclaimed her feelings for Gaurang was in Goa and when they were spending time together. Right when the sun came out, she looked at Gaurang and asked him if he wanted to go out. Little did Gaurang realise she's asking him out and in his innocent spree, he agreed to go outside to soak up some sun and enjoy some breakfast. (c)Instagram From thereon, their memories were filtered to either ticket cancellations and re-bookings or checking out a new place together or even making travel plans for their next birthdays, Valentine's Day and various relationships milestones. Took me to Prague for my birthday. Flew in to Mumbai to surprise me on Valentine's day, Jodhpur for our 2 years and now we're planning to bring in our birthdays at Scotland and USA respectively, this year, because we need new memories!- Saachi (c)Instagram This Is How You Tackle Distance Both the 'wanderers' have been together for a long while now and have opted through various things in life to stay together. By that I mean, Saachi and Gaurang realised that being physically together in one place, even though their relationship doesn't allow it, is a bare essential and they've done everything in their power to overcome the distance they go through, everyday. Couples living away from each other, making each day count, and not letting suppositions rule their relationship with the obscure distance they have to deal with, are an inspiration in today's day and age and we're glad we can count on them flawlessly to teach us how to strive towards keeping something so fragile, alive. (c)Instagram Gaurang and Saachi going through months of not seeing each other is not just commendable, it's the strongest aspect that builds the fundamentals of their relationship. From dealing with insecurities to earning each other's trust over time, while away from each other, is the strongest reinforcement of belief and love. And believe it or not, their long-distance relationship works from one suitcase to another. They both love travelling and have made that an eventuality in keeping their love alive. (c)Instagram When they decided to date, it was on a trip to Goa they'd taken with a few friends and now, every time they establish a new milestone in their relationship, it's overlooking a new city skyline, amidst local food and an adequate yet brand new start to a very old equation. We decided to date each other on a trip with friends to Goa. Our first date was on the beach drinking wine - Saachi Since then, instead of visiting each other in the city they both reside, they book tickets and explore new cities and spend time together. It helps them regain the moments they've lost in time and travel through different places, making indispensible memories their unbreakable timeline for the future. It was Gaurang's idea initially to make their life a lot more convenient since Saachi had a job that made her shift her base from time to time. The couple first travelled to Jodhpur to spend some quality time together and then made it mandatory to pick a city of their choice to meet at, whenever time allowed them to. Honestly, if long distance relationships worked this way, distance would just be a meagre resolve, as couples would pay more heed to planning the next trip and figuring out an active itinerary rather than brood over how far they are from one another. (c)Instagram She's a consultant and travels every week, so I end up living that lifestyle vicariously. We've met each other at Prague, Portugal, Budapest, Finland, Thailand, Vietnam, USA and Dubai , as far as I can remember - Gaurang Long distance relationships should be listed under survivor tools, because you're diligently doing anything to keep them intact, in order to survive a relationship crash. It's tough for sure but there are many things you learn with this association such as patience, faith, and trust. Gaurang and Saachi have been stuck with a conundrum of following through with long distance and they've been doing a mighty good job of it so far, by travelling away their woes. (c)Instagram There is never a decree of 'heartbreak' between these two, when they leave each other's company to pursue their lives in different cities. Because they know they've tackled the severest relationship downfall and have made it alive, with a lot of sparkle and fun, intact. They have mastered the art of making holiday plans, seeing each other whenever the need arises and saving money diligently to do so successfully, until the day they're married! Honestly, I have been blessed with more than I deserve. - Gaurang (c)Instagram At the end of the day, relationships that are fundamentally stable, can withstand any test they're put through, even the test of time. To end this beautiful story, I can't stress enough on how some couples have to part temporarily on a good note and carry forth their association in different places. I personally admire couples who have immense faith in each other to work through the distance and make every day a reason to point at the map and say 'Let's make this work and have fun while doing so'.
  5. Kartik Aryan has always managed to wow us with his sartorial aptitude. 2018 was indeed an amazing year for him on that front, and he clearly has decided to do the same this year. Case in point? He just wore an embroidered denim jacket that we think is a super-cool outerwear that definitely did wonders in terms of boosting his layering game. © Viral Bhayani He wore it with a cool camo T-shirt underneath for the promotions of his upcoming movie 'Luka Chuppi', and even though it might look like your regular denim jacket from the front, the magic lies at the back. © Instagram/thevainglorious The jacket is a 'Heron Preston' piece that has a fierce fire-breathing Chinese dragon embroidered on it. It costs a whopping INR 50K+, but he's used to wearing pieces which are far more expensive (wink). Clearly, The Vainglorious is on fire. © Instagram/thevainglorious Well, the oversized jacket technically may be a women's jacket, but it's 2019 and please let's get ahead of that. How does it even matter which section you pick it up from? Kartik agrees. Isn't the embroidery to die for? We are in love with the detailing of the piece! © Thewebster We're sure the movie is going to be as cool as the jacket. All the best, Kartik!
  6. His 'dhaai kilo ka haath' gave many a screen villains a run for their lives, but when it comes to 'cool' things like fashion or dancing, Mr Sunny Deol, unfortunately, has never been at the forefront. However, it finally does look like things are changing, at least on the fashion front. Mr Deol just stepped out wearing an insane pair of hiking boots that proves this. Take a look! © Viral Bhayani © Viral Bhayani Don't you just love these hiking boots from Gucci? According to Gucci, these sneakers are inspired by the hiking world and designed with an oversize shape sole. For Fall Winter 2018, these sneakers are presented in dark green and black, featuring a dynamic mix of materials--rubber, leather, suede, and technical canvas. A recurring detail of the latest collections, the Gucci logo is displayed in the graphic font of SEGA—a fixture in the colorful arcades and coin-op game rooms of the eighties. © Gucci © Gucci The studded detailing on which the laces are tied gives the pair an endearing retro look, plus the military olive accentuates the combat shoe aesthetic. Not a pair one would ideally wear with an outfit composed of a shirt and jeans, but Sunny paaji sure is carrying it off like a boss. © Gucci When it comes to accessories, we love the brown leather bag that he's carrying. Perfect for an airport look, especially the kind of relaxed aesthetic he's going for. © Viral Bhayani All we can say is that it's good to see that Bobby isn't the only fashionable Deol anymore.
  7. The second edition of the Riders Music Festival has created waves ahead of its opening day on December 22 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Delhi. As much as it is a celebration of the biking community in the country, it is also a carnival that brings in other elements, like music “With the ever-evolving biking community and the increasing fad of motorcycles every year in our country, we believe there should be something for everybody,” believes Nisha Narayanan, COO RED FM. “What's better than to bring together an amalgamation of biking, music, grub and more for that perfect concoction to make your weekend a memorable one. Riders Music Festival was a huge success in its inception year in 2017. This year we look forward to the IP becoming bigger, better, and louder. Let the bikes roar & the music play,” she adds. Here are a few of the big Indian performers that you can catch live at this extravaganza. 1. Mame Khan The manganiyar singer is known for his expertise in traditional Folk and Sufi music. He is a former India's Got Talent contestant and found instant success with his rendition of the song Chaudhary for MTV India's music show Coke Studio. 2. Lucky Ali A cult star of the 90s, Lucky Ali barely needs any introduction to the generation that grew up listening to his songs and idolising him in those uber cool music videos. For the ones who are not well acquainted with him, check out a few of his tracks and prepare yourself to fall in love with his soulful brand of music. 3. Nucleya One of the biggest Indian DJs and mixers of this decade, Udyan Sagar became a countrywide phenomenon with his kitsch, bass-heavy sound that was immediately lapped up by the masses. His USP is a very distinct and unique usage of Indian street sounds that has earned him a reputation of someone who is bridging the gap between indie and mainstream in a way that few others have. 4. Divine Born with the name Vivian Fernandes, Divine's rise from the streets of Mumbai to India's coolest rap sensation has been nothing short of a dream. But behind the realisation of this dream have been many years of hard work that yielded superhit numbers like Yeh Mera Bombay and Mere Gully Mei. 5. Bhuvan Bam One of our cover stars for the month of December, Bhuvan Bam started his stage career as a musician in small-time Delhi restaurants. It took a back seat when he started making videos for his Youtube channel BB Ki Vines, but his first love has resurfaced with tracks like Safar and Sang Hoon Tere. And he's surely as good at singing as he is at other things.

  10. I still remember my first encounter with Aquaman in the comics back when I was a kid, and I must admit, I did not find anything 'super' about this superhero. via GIPHY That orange costume and blond hair were just not helping. Plus, something about being in water just did not get my motor running, as compared to Flash or Batman, both of whom were my ultimate DC superheroes. Remember that scene from 'The Big Bang Theory' when no one wanted to dress up as Aquaman for Halloween? Well, they had a reason! via GIPHY I never imagined I would be associating Aquaman with the word 'cool', I mean, come on, Atlantean King with a bigass trident? Talks to fish? And that god-awful orange and green outfit was never going to get Arthur Curry on my list. Little did I know I was about to be sucker-punched by Jason Momoa. via GIPHY 'Batman v Superman' and 'Justice League' already introduced us to a badass Arthur Curry, listening to rock music and downing whiskey like water. However, 'Aquaman' took it a notch higher and ensured that DC was about to find its coolest superhero ever. via GIPHY Now, I knew what to expect before I entered the hall. Crazy visuals, a super beefy Arthur Curry, bad fish guys and the usual rigmarole involved in a superhero flick, but I was also wary, because it's DC so there's got to be a heavy dose of angst, and also I had been tripping on Marvel for some time now. Which is why 'Aquaman' hit me so hard, as nothing could have prepared me for what I was about to watch. via GIPHY The multiple trailers had already whetted my appetite, with Momoa having my complete undivided attention (can you blame me?), but what the trailers did not even give a hint about is what makes 'Aquaman' the coolest DC movie ever: Visuals. via GIPHY Believe me, when I say this, the CGI is so damn good that at one point my vertigo and hydrophobia started acting up. Also, since most of the movie is about Atlantis and about being in the ocean, I was ready for some passable effects but James Wan has pulled off such a brilliant job here, that you will have a tough time pulling your jaw back up from the ground. via GIPHY Every single fish, every seaweed to even the details of the very water is so perfect, that it lets you forgive the slight gaping holes in the storyline. I mean, I really wanted to see more of Arthur's childhood and the origin of his powers, but I did not mind it because damn, his training sequences were so spectacular, that I just had to forgive this teeny-tiny flaw. via GIPHY " It was like a kid entering a candy story!" via GIPHY The fights and the action scenes, especially, have been executed brilliantly, ensuring that every single movement looks realistic, which is damn hard considering 90 per cent is happening under water. via GIPHY No power on earth can drag my hydrophobic ass in a submarine and take a tour of the ocean, but 'Aquaman' came real damn close to give an almost similar experience, that's how good the details are. via GIPHY Okay, let's get to the real star of the movie here- Jason Momoa. Man, he is making it so hard for me right now to stay devoted to 'Wonder Woman'. I can't believe I am actually having a mental war over my loyalty to Diana, thanks to the entry of another royalty. via GIPHY But Momoa has done a brilliant job of having just the right amount of angst a DC hero needs, along with liberal doses of pure awesomeness. via GIPHY The natural swagger that he displays as Arthur lets him pull off even the cheesiest of lines, especially when he is with the gorgeous Mera (Amber Heard). via GIPHY Being a superhero means having some heavy-ass lines talking about 'revenge' and 'glory' and in some cases, 'Martha' (please don't murder me in my bed.) But those lines roll off Momoa's tongue without making you cringe at all. via GIPHY Can I say 'Aquaman' is the best DC movie ever? Hmmm, well, no way in hell is Christian Bale moving from my No. 1 spot. But is 'Aquaman' the coolest DC movie ever? I can't see why not. Yes, 'Suicide Squad' had its charms but 'Aquaman' has ticked off on all categories to become DC's new saving grace. via GIPHY Okay. Mild spoilers ahead, so please proceed at your own risk. The ending ensured that 'Aquaman' will have a sequel and that is nothing but good news. Also, people, get ready to see the best on-screen kiss ever. I mean, this is going to the first time in history, where people are going to be focusing on everything else but mostly the kiss. Yea, you'll understand what I'm saying when you see it for yourself. Also, most importantly, there IS a post-credit scene, so please don't walk out like muggles. Please!
  11. Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone, who got married on November 14 and 15 in Italy's Lake Como, seem to have forgotten to hang up their party shoes as they rang in their third (including sister Ritika's bash) wedding reception last night at Mumbai's Grand Hyatt. The party was hosted for their close friends, family members and a section of media. © Viral Bhayani The livewire of Bollywood aka Ranveer Singh is, hands down, the life of any and every party he attends and last night's wedding reception wasn't any different either. 12. People say you're never too old or too young to follow your dreams and passion. And the 96-year-old grandma Karthyayani Amma is the proud torchbearer of this saying. We first came to know about Karthyayani Amma in August, when she enrolled in the 4th standard in order to complete her education. Now, Alappuzha's famous granny has recreated history once again by clearing the exam with flying colours. If pursuing studies at 96 wasn't impressive enough, she even topped the exam by scoring 98% marks. © BCCL She was the oldest student to take the 'Aksharalaksham' test conducted by Kerala's Literacy Mission Authority. She will receive a merit certificate from Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan today at the Chief Minister's Conference hall. Reportedly, Amma had never gone to school and used to work as a cleaning staff in temples. Amma told India Today, "I'm happy that I got good marks. Now I know how to read, write and calculate." She also said that her great grandchildren, 12-year-old Aparna and 9-year-old Anjana, helped her in learning the lessons. When my younger daughter Amminiamma qualified in the tenth equivalent examination in 2016, I took it as a challenge." Kerala already has the highest literacy rate in the country and this programme was launched this year to eliminate illiteracy completely from the state. Nearly, 43,330 students appeared for the exam in the classes 4th, 7th, 10th, 11th and 12th. Out of them, 42,933 cleared the exam. © Twitter After successfully passing ths exam, Amma now wants to learn English in the next term and said, "My great grandchildren are studying in an English medium school. I also want to learn English." We salute Karthyayani Amma for her dedication and strong will to study even at the age of 96, and we hope that more people take inspiration from her.
