'Kashmir Files Did What Govt Couldn't Do' Mukesh Khanna Calls Out PM Modi
ADMIN posted a blog entry in FDF Online News
Vivek Agnihotri’s The Kashmir Files is not only a massive box office success but has also been receiving all-round acclaim from the audience, celebs and politicians alike. Recently, Mahabharat and Shaktimaan fame Mukesh Khanna watched the film and was all praise for it. Coming out of a screening of the film, he told paps that The Kashmir Files is more than a film, it depicts reality. He rated the film 10 out of 10 and went on to praise director Vivek Agnihotri and actors Darshan Kumar and Anupam Kher for their performances. © Zee Studios Khanna further slammed the government for not helping Kashmiri Pandits in 32 years of their exodus, and called out Prime Minister Narendra Modi for not fulfilling his promise about helping Kashmiri Pandits return to their land. He said, “Yeh sarkar ki galti hai main bolunga. Kya kiya sarkar ne? Mujhe yaad hai Modi ji ne 2014 mein jab jeete they toh kaha tha ki, ‘Main Hindu Panditon ko sthapit karwaunga’. Maine us waqt kaha tha agar inhonein Kashmiri Panditon ko sthapit karwa diya na yeh superhero ban jayenge. But afsos hai aath saal aur beet chuke hai abhi yeh Kashmiri Pandit apne aap ko sharanarthi maanta hai. Sharam aani chahiye humein. (This is the government's fault I’d say. What has the government done for Kashmiri Pandits? I remember Prime Minister Narendra Modi promised after his 2014 win that he will help KPs but sadly it’s been eight years and they still consider them refugees in their own country. We should be ashamed of ourselves.)” He went on to praise Vivek Agnihotri saying he did more for Kashmiri Pandits than the government of India, “Mujhe yeh film nahin lagi main ek second apni aankhein nahin hata saka. So yeh logon ko appeal kar rahi hai. Jo sarkar nahin kar saki, Vivek Agnihotri ne karke dikhaya. This is the success. People should know about this genocide. (Not even for a second I took my eyes away from the screen while watching The Kashmir Files. The film is appealing to the audience. Vivek Agnihotri did for KPs what the government couldn’t do.)” © Zee Studios He also praised the film for showing “harsh reality” and praised Darshan Kumar calling him the best performer in the film. He also slammed mainstream Bollywood celebs for not promoting the film. Watch the full video below: The Kashmir Files stars Mithun Chakraborty, Anupam Kher, Darshan Kumar and Pallavi Joshi. Bollywood Superstar Salman Khan is one of the most successful actors in the Indian film industry, having worked in at least 126 movies since the start of his career back in 1988. Whether it's financial power, status, or pure respect from everyone inside the industry, Salman has all of it in abundance. © Instagram/Salman Khan However, one thing that seems to have missed him is perhaps marriage, with the topic often coming up whenever someone speaks of Salman. We know that Salman has been in several romantic relationships before, with the one with Katrina Kaif often talked about the most. © BCCL Now, while Salman may have often dodged questions relating to his marriage, did you know that he once really wanted to get married to a Bollywood actress? Yep! That's right! Salman Bhai was once known to be smitten by an older actress when he was young and he liked her so much that he told his family that he will marry her one day. The name of the actress is Bollywood legend, Rekha! © Instagram/Rekha Fandom Yes! Salman himself admitted having a lot of fondness for the actress, and he even revealed how he ended up taking Yoga because of her. According to reports, Salman revealed that he had been neighbours with Rekha and would get up at 5:30 in the morning to watch her go on her morning walks. “Uss waqt yoga se toh mera koi connection tha hi nahi par kyunki Rekha ji wahaan pe sikhati thi yoga, main aur mere dost pohoch jaaya karte the (At that time I had no connection with yoga, but as Rekha ji taught there, I and my friends used to go there)” he said. Salman revealed this when Rekha had come to promote her film ‘Super Nani’ on the sets of Bigg Boss several years ago. It was there when Rekha pitched and told what Salman had told his own family. © Viacom 18 “I (Salman) want to marry that girl when I grow up,” said Rekha. It was after this that Salman said, “Shayad isliye meri shaadi nahi hui. (Maybe this is why I did not get married)” To this, Rekha replied, “Shaayad meribhi isiliye nahin huyi… (Maybe this is why even I didn't)” Aw! This truly is a heartwarming incident. On the work front, Salman will next be seen in Tiger 3 and Shah Rukh Khan's upcoming film Pathan. There have also been reports that Salman may also team up with SRK and Hrithik Roshan in what will be an extended spy-universe film series. Source: Koimoi View the full article

Tobey Maguire is one actor who probably may not have done a lot of movies in recent years, but ask whoever you know, everyone loves him for his role as the first Spider-Man on the big screen. You could almost say that he was one of the founding members of the superhero movie universes that have become so popular right now. © Sony Pictures Spoiler Alert! We Spider-Man fans were literally treated to the biggest cinematic spectacle which was Tom Holland's Spider-Man: No Way Home movie, where Tobey and Amazing Spider-Man Andrew Garfield made an insane comeback. Tobey's return had some amazing nostalgic trips for fans and we certainly remembered so many good things about the original Sam Raimi movies. Now, one such iconic scene from the first Spider-Man movie was the kissing scene between Tobey and Kirsten Dunst, who played the role of Mary Jane Watson in the movie. The scene involved an inverted Spider-Man hanging with his web and kissing Mary Jane. © Sony Pictures The scene was really beautiful and looked absolutely awesome in the movies. However, the behind-the-scenes story is something very different. According to Tobey, who spoke about it in an old interview, the kiss was so difficult as he could not even breathe. If you can remember the scene, there was a lot of rain when Spider-Man and Mary Jane kiss. Now, with Tobey's Spider-Man upside down, the water just kept on blocking his nostrils in the scene. “When he was doing the scene, I remember the water was falling down into his upside-down nostrils, so he was kind of drowning. But it was a kissing scene. So, he had to pretend like it was a pleasant, sweet moment for him, when in fact, he was semi-drowning.” said Raimi. Tobey revealed how he felt for Kirsten during the scene. “There was rain pouring up or down my nose. I couldn’t breathe and I was gasping for breath out of the corner of Kirsten’s mouth. Poor girl. I was giving her mouth to mouth rather than kissing her.” Wow! That does sound very troublesome. View the full article

If there's something that the pandemic has taught us in terms of the entertainment industry, it is that no matter how much money or stars you throw into making the grandest of films, it stands to gain nothing without movie-watchers. At a time when cinemas had been shut all over the world and people were locked up within four walls, we realized that the only way that show was to go on, was if it could be shown on a computer or tv screen. And up went the stake of OTT platforms like Netflix and Amazon's Prime Video. Bollywood really has been brought down on its knees with movies clearly not working without people going ahead and paying for it. On the other hand, many content-driven movies and shows like The Family Man, Mirzapur, and now Mumbai Diaries 26/11 have shown the power of OTT. © Prime Video One personality that seems to echo the same words is the 'Family Man' himself, Manoj Bajpayee. © Prime Video The talented actor has been winning plaudits for his performance in the Prime Video series and has really seen his popularity rise to insane levels. He too thinks that the OTT platforms have sort of been the savior of the entertainment industry. “This has happened worldwide. There was only one medium of entertainment in a situation like a lockdown when people couldn’t even step out and do anything, forget about watching a film in theatres. OTT has been the only savior for the entertainment industry amid pandemic,” said Bajpayee. He also mentions how the platform helps people keep away from the negativity and stress of the current turbulent times. “The various shows and films kept them away from all the anxiety and stress. It is the only medium that has kept people entertained. It is a big ocean from where people can choose what they want to watch,” he said. Another thing that platforms like Netflix, Prime Video, Hotstar, Zee5, and others have provided is an opportunity to work in content-oriented films for actors who, for long, haven't been given opportunities in mainstream cinema. © Prime Video "All those people who can do some worthwhile job have got the chance to showcase their ability. It is a one-of-a-kind situation. I pray that this time of celebrating talent and quality does not go away. In our country, we often see that talented people were getting almost no due. The OTT has become a miracle for many,” added Bajpayee. The 52-year-old actor was asked whether he feels that the OTT platforms have reintroduced him to the audience. However, he is of the opinion that instead of that, the platforms have made it possible for him to connect with a vast younger audience. “I am not being reintroduced to the admirers who were already there. I was not just sitting at home and doing nothing. I was someone who was quite busy when the OTT boom came. The unique thing that has happened to me and my career is that it has taken me to a different kind of a fan base which is teen and young people. The audience of that age was not that aware of my work. Those are the people who are loving and liking my work in the past two years. It has kind of excited them to look at all my other past works. That I find is amazing,” he said. View the full article

There are tons of videos on the internet, challenging you to hold your laughter but we know how difficult of a task that is and where we all end up by the time the video ends. Most of us don’t even last the first half of the video and cave in rather easily, while a few samurais among us, somehow, manage to go all the way and complete the challenge but such people are few and far between and a rare commodity. Australian cricketer Usman Khawaja definitely fell in the second category, at least, this is what people thought till a few days back. Khawaja’s interaction with former Pakistan off-spinner Saeed Ajmal went viral on social media and fans were surprised how he kept his composure and didn’t break loose, despite hearing him say stuff like ‘science is the man’, among other things. View this post on Instagram Ajmal’s spirited reply came after he was asked about the ‘doosra’ -- an unconventional delivery bowled by an off-spinner, which instead of coming back into a right-hander goes away after pitching. “I can bowl, I ready the guys like within a month any youngster can bowl doosra within 15 degrees but ICC ban straight away said nobody can bowl, science said, why science fuckin man, what da scance, science is the man,” Ajmal can be heard saying in the video. If you still can’t guess what we are talking about, you probably belong to a different age because the video was such a big hit on social media. Here’s the video and we challenge you to control your laughter: props to @Uz_Khawaja for not laughing out loud and keeping his composure 🤣🤣🤣 — Ghumman (@emclub77) June 15, 2021 Khawaja’s initial reaction in the video earned him huge applause on the micro-blogging site, while some people commended his composure, others demanded an award for his brilliant performance. However, Khawaja’s tough-guy image lasted only a few days as he let loose after coming across a meme, featuring his picture and Ajmal’s now-viral quotes. 🤣🤣 https://t.co/Vm8IPisyDV — Usman Khawaja (@Uz_Khawaja) June 17, 2021 Apart from this video, the other thing for which Khawaja made headlines was his powerful century during a Pakistan Super League match. Captaining the Islamabad United side in the absence of their regular skipper, Khwaja led by example and blasted 105 off just 56 balls as his side posted 247 for the loss of two wickets in 20 overs. Chasing a mammoth total, Peshawar Zalmi also came all guns blazing and almost got over the line eventually falling short by just 15 runs. View the full article

Fan Gets An Earful For Praising BCCI Twitter Admin & We Couldn't Agree More

With social media fast evolving, the BCCI and its content creation team have also changed its approach of sharing information with the fans. The BCCI which was often criticised for its reluctance, unlike other cricket boards, to post the videos on its social media channels clearly seems to have taken note of high demand of its followers. With the Indian team currently playing an intra-squad match ahead of the World Test Championship final, the fans, in the absence of live telecast, are relying on the Indian board to provide them with the updates of how their favourite cricketers are performing in the build-up to the summit clash against New Zealand. The video began with Rahul, who is making a comeback after an injury, dancing down the track and hitting Ravindra Jadeja for a maximum, which ended with Saha pulling Shardul Thakur for a six. Highlights from Day 2 of the intra-squad match simulation here in Southampton #TeamIndia pic.twitter.com/Tm6RrQ4nnd — BCCI (@BCCI) June 13, 2021 With the final approaching, the team management is confused about what combination to go with against the Kiwis and if reports are to be believed, the tide is slightly tilted in favour of Mohammed Siraj, meaning star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja could end up warming the bench. The Jadeja supporters weren’t too happy about such reports and they even warned that it would be a disaster in waiting if Team India did indeed decide to drop the all-rounder out for the mega clash. Ever since showcasing his talent during the 2018 U-19 World Cup, Shubman Gill has gone from strength to strength to emerge as one of the finest young talents in the country. The right-hander has already impressed pundits and fans on the back of his mesmerising performances in the Indian Premier League (IPL). And, his brief stint with Team India is also picking pace. The right-handed batsman was one of the key performers for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the recently-concluded IPL season. Batting at the top, Gill scored 440 runs, including three fifties, in 14 matches. It was his consistency with the willow that earned him a spot in India's Test squad for the tour of Australia. © Twitter/@BCCI The Indian team doesn't really have a shortage of openers, despite the absence of Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma. The likes of KL Rahul, Prithvi Shaw, Mayank Agarwal and, now, Gill are all capable enough to carry the responsibility of opening the innings. In recent times, India have favoured Shaw to open alongside Mayank. But, the young Mumbai batsman seems a bit rusty at the moment. If his batting exploits weren't enough, Gill's case to open the innings has been further bolstered by the dismal performances of Shaw. The right-hander had a terrible outing in IPL 2020 before mediocre performances in the practice games. He was dismissed for a duck in the first practice game, his fourth in his last seven Test innings. In the warm-up tie against Australia A, Shaw failed to convert his start into a big score as he got dismissed for 40 in the first innings. His impatience and inability to avoid risky and aerial shots further spelt his doom in the second innings as the Indian opener was sent back to the pavilion with just 3 runs against his name. Matthew Wade Told Shikhar Dhawan He's Not MS Dhoni & We Couldn't Agree More
ADMIN posted a blog entry in FDF Online News
Almost sixteen years ago, a 23-year-old MS Dhoni, on the back of eye-catching performances in domestic cricket, made his international debut donning the national colours for the very first time during an encounter with Bangladesh. But his Team India debut was a forgettable one as he got dismissed for a golden duck. But, scoring a mere 22 runs in his four matches for Team India wasn't the only problem for Dhoni. It was his unorthodox approach both in batting and wicket-keeping that got the purists wondering if he really belonged at the international stage. But, unperturbed by criticism, Dhoni stuck to his instincts and eventually broke the stereotypes of the gentleman's game. One major rule related to wicket-keeping or fielding, in general, is inertia. With the ball travelling to the fielder's hands at a rapid pace, a cricketer is expected to catch the ball and let it slide with the momentum for some time before resisting the motion. The idea is to absorb the momentum of the ball slowly in a bid to avoid chances of it popping out of their hands. While most wicket-keepers follow this tactic, Dhoni followed a completely different ideology. He believed in attacking the ball and throwing his hands at the stumps as quickly as possible. When he faced spinners, Dhoni moved his hand towards the ball and - without moving his hand back for even a second - guided it to the stumps. So what did he achieve by doing that? As noted in one of his stumpings, a reaction time of staggering 0.08 seconds - a world record that still stands tall. Today, at the age of 39, Dhoni might have called time on his international career, but his legend continues to live on as witnessed during India's six-wicket win against Australia in the 2nd T20I at Sydney on December 6. It was the 9th over of India's run-chase when Shikhar Dhawan momentarily lifted his foot in the crease as Matthew Wade whipped the bails off in a flash before going up in an animated appeal. "Not Dhoni, not quick enough like Dhoni!" Live #AUSvIND: https://t.co/L1KY15FYnb pic.twitter.com/IOC7NH2xgb — cricket.com.au (@cricketcomau) December 6, 2020 Australian leggie Mitchell Swepson had bowled a wide wrong-un which was missed by Dhawan as he went for a cut shot. Skipper Wade thought he had perhaps caught the Indian opener unaware but the replays suggested that Dhawan had planted his raised foot just in time to avoid a stumping opportunity. As soon as the decision was flashed on the big screen, Wade was caught on the stump-mic saying, "Not Dhoni, not quick enough like Dhoni", to Dhawan who responded with a smile saying, "No". Wade has an experience from watching this in Non-strikers end. pic.twitter.com/ed2Z4v5tpf — Cricket VIDEOPEDIA (@CricVideoPedia) December 6, 2020 Well, we can't really blame Wade for bringing the Dhoni comparison especially when he had watched the former Indian captain pulling off something in a similar situation from the non-striker's end. While Wade's comments surely left the commentators and, later, fans on social media in splits, he had another moment to forget earlier in the game. During the 8th over of Australia's innings, Wade was looking dangerous before he hoicked Washington Sundar's length delivery towards cover where Virat Kohli made a mockery of a sitter, spilling the catch on two attempts. But, such was Wade's luck that, rather than watching the Indian skipper drop a dolly, the Aussie captain conceded it to be his downfall and didn't bother to return to the crease. And, unlike Wade, Kohli had some match-awareness as he fired in a throw at the striker's end to help wicket-keeper KL Rahul catch the Australian short at the crease. What a calamity! #AUSvIND pic.twitter.com/2NeeTB4ixT — cricket.com.au (@cricketcomau) December 6, 2020 The comical turn of events brought an end to Wade's blistering 58-run knock that was laced with 10 fours and a six. It was his blazing knock that played a key role in helping Australia pile up a mammoth total of 194 runs. However, to the home side's sheer displeasure, Dhawan (52) and Kohli (40) kept India's run-chase on track before a Hardik Pandya (22-ball 42) stole an emphatic win for India in the 2nd T20I and sealed their 2-0 series win with a game to spare.
