  1. Shah Rukh Khan is also known as King Khan, not only because he is a tremendously good actor and rules over the hearts of millions of film lovers, but also because he is a true gentleman. Fans love him and swear by his words of wisdom. They take his words to heart and often treat him as a mentor. © YouTube That should not come as a shock because SRK is a great orator with a capability of stirring people's hearts with mere words and leaving a great impact on their minds. SRK might have just used this superpower for a great cause and the result is heartwarming. Recently, as part of the Meer Foundation initiative, Shah Rukh met acid attack survivors before their corrective surgeries, however, that was not all. While interacting with these strong women (many of whom were also his fans), he also shared some personal insights on life and facing it head-on, that is absolutely inspiring! SRK told the women to stay strong and live with their heads held high. He further told them that as long as they believed that they wanted to make something of themselves in life, the rest will fall in place. © Twitter He also underlined the importance of working for ourselves and being independent and said, “It's important for each one of us to make sure that we work for ourselves. We should do our own work without depending on another individual. Even if it's a small job, we should be fending for ourselves. And at the end of the day, we must be independent.” © YouTube The video from this meeting has since been widely circulated on social media and it's like a breath of fresh air to see these wonderful women smiling and giggling post their interaction with SRK. © YouTube Perhaps he doesn't know it, but we are sure that through this interaction SRK has touched many lives, and given many other survivors hope for the future. Shah Rukh Khan started the Meer foundation in 2017 and it focuses on improving the lives of acid-attack survivors.
  2. Losing a loved one is the most painful thing I can think of, and unfortunately, all of us have to go through it at some point in our lives. But, no one can understand the extremities of that loss like the people who work in the Defence, and their families do. Yesterday, the last rites of Squadron leader Siddharth Vashisht, who died in a Mi-17 chopper crash in Jammu and Kashmir's Budgam district, were performed with full military honours in Chandigarh. His family, including his wife Squadron Leader Aarti Singh and other fellow officers, were present to bid farewell and mourn the loss. His wife stood in full uniform as his father lit the funeral pyre. The Air Force personnel present gave a gun salute in the presence of officials from the IAF, the civil administration and all the people who turned up to pay their last respects. People couldn't help but salute Squadron Leader Aarti Singh's bravery at this difficult time while mourning for him. Her head was held high, as she clutched the tricolour to her chest, and the internet hailed her stoic spirit. 3. NASCAR races are extremely fun to watch. The sight of sports cars covered in sponsored logos just whizzing past in a split of a second, the sound of engines working on overload combined with the smell of burning tyres grinding against asphalt just gives a rush of adrenaline to the viewer. What makes the sport so exciting, rather nerve-wracking, is the fear of a blunder that could take place even with the slightest of nudges between the races that are going at 320 kph. Car crashes are pretty common in racing events, much like NASCAR Daytona 500 which produced one of the biggest collisions in the history of the sport. When driver Paul Menard tried to do a 'bump and run' around Matt DiBenedetto's car number 95, he nudged the rear passenger side of DiBenedetto's ride resulting in it to spin out in the middle of the race track while knocking out 17 cars in his way with the race in its last leg. Although nobody got injured during the crash, which is miraculous to say the least and Menard took complete responsibility for the entire incident, what prepares a race driver's psyche to take the hit during the smash is worth talking about. In an interview with Tampa Bay Times, NASCAR driver and one of the sufferers of the Daytona crash, Aric Almirola shares his experience. “At a certain point in the wreck, you're just kind of along for the ride. The initial instinct is to try to drive the car and avoid the wreck. Once you know that you're in the wreck, you kind of just brace for impact,” said the driver. “A lot of people take their hands off the steering wheel, but that is very unnatural for me. I keep my hands on the steering wheel. I kind of lock my elbow in and just, everything tenses up and tightens up and you brace for impact.” Amongst the first cars to get involved in the chain reaction that Menard had started, Almirola's ride (# 10) got tagged behind car #12 and almost did a somersault. Due to the momentum of the drag in favour of the car, Almirola stayed on his wheels and didn't turn over. © NASCAR In totality, the crash led to wrecking 21 cars (almost half of the contestants) but luckily not a single driver got injured. Obviously, it wasn't long before people took to Twitter to show their concerns towards the mishap and the safety of the racers: This still amazes me how big this crash was even for Daytona #NASCAR #Daytona500 pic.twitter.com/Shh7tLzp0c — Penske17 (@Penske_17) February 20, 2019 Now that's a nasty crash... #Daytona — Steve Twynstra (@SteveTwynstra) February 17, 2019 The biggest Daytona 500 crash of the whole night!!! pic.twitter.com/dvYojiuAzG — Gameoholic1994 (@gameoholic1994) February 17, 2019 Daytona 500. 4. Christmas is celebrated globally and pretty much marks the end of the year. Everyone is in a relaxed mood, schedules are filled with holidays and everyone just wants to relax. Seems like the holiday season now extends to "artificial" beings as well. Amazon's Echo smart speakers went down across the network on Christmas Day, with thousands of people reporting that the company's artificial intelligence assistant Alexa appeared to have gone on a festive break. © Amazon Amazon recently reported that it had sold "tens of millions" of the Echo range of smart speakers powered by the company's AI assistant Alexa. It's simple to conclude, a lot of people opened their presents in the morning, fired up the speaker and asked it way too many questions. It's natural for all of us to play around a maximum time when the gadget is new, and this flood of new users downed the servers. Thanks to the tens of thousands, or maybe even millions of commands coming in from all over the globe, the system just couldn't handle it. Even Alexa had it with humans and decided to be Absent Without Leave (AWOL), and I'm sure HR folks at Amazon weren't very excited about it. Oh dear. Red ring of death #alexa pic.twitter.com/aPqlE6LUX5 — Angus Fox ð´ó §ó ¢ó ³ó £ó ´ó ¿ (@nuxnix) December 25, 2018 Multilingual Alexa, who has more than 70,000 different skills, told over 100 million jokes in 2018, but people were less than impressed with her Christmas day stunt. Rather than give the desired response, when the system crashed at about 10 am, Alexa said: "Sorry, I'm having trouble understanding you right now." Though, the system was slowly back on track by the end of the afternoon. Replying to a query on Twitter, Amazon said they were aware of the issue and a technical team would resolve it within 12-24 hours. © Outage(dot) report The Amazon Echo speaker has a ring on the top, it usually is blue in colour, but turned red on Christmas Day. This obviously, wasn't planned to match along with the festival, but a sign that Alexa is unable to connect with the server successfully. The system wasn't globally down as many users in the U.S.A reported no issues while the most affected seem to be UK and Italy. The Amazon Echo Dot was Amazon's most popular gift in the lead up to the holidays.
  5. A lot of people who come to me, are in a putrid state in terms of body composition. When I mean body composition, I mean primarily a total combination of posture, body fat percentage and lean muscle mass. This is mainly due to two reasons: - Their own mistake. they are living a sedentary lifestyle, no resistance training, eating junk food and severe nutrient deficiency. - On the other hand, are those who have lost weight in a wrong manner. In this piece, we will talk about the second group of people who lost weight in a wrong manner. Every day I meet people who have lost lots of weight but their body composition is such that, they are actually in the worst shape of their lives. The Difference Between Getting Thin & Getting Lean And Strong © YouTube In terms of weight loss, this happens primarily because people do not understand the difference between getting skinny fat and getting fit. The difference, by the way, is huge. This is also the case with most trainers and dieticians, who are ready to somehow show you a massive dip in weight on the weighing scale anyhow, to make you happy. Because that's what you want to see. Whenever you see a labourer working, he is not fit, he is thin. That's because of extremely low-calorie consumption and excessive physical activity. This is what most people actually do to get thin. However, the labourer is still ripped, because he is not doing tons of cardio a day, but primarily doing work which is a kind of high-intensity work, like digging, lifting & carrying loads, pulling or pushing movements etc. So he is basically overdoing the physical work, and undereating. Overdoing Cardio & Severely Under Eating © Thinkstock Images This is where the problem lies. The last thing an obese person needs is excessive cardio and a starvation diet. Long duration steady state cardio workouts are the worst prescriptions in this case. Excessive running coupled with a very low-calorie diet and you have a physiological disaster. The result is a drastic loss in water weight. Loss of the most precious component, muscle mass. A decline in the metabolism follows thereafter. Lose Fat, Get Stronger And Preserve Muscle Mass At The Same Time. That's Real Fitness! Anyone who needs to lose fat must first understand the difference between weight loss and fat loss and getting thin and getting fit. Resistance training and high-intensity cardiovascular workouts should always form the base of the training in such cases along with a healthy and nutritious diet. One single point I have been pressing upon again and again is that there is a big difference in weight loss and fat loss. It's the weight which most people aim for, which is simply a reduction in the needle on the weighing scale. This is what your dietician or slimming centre is an expert in showing you. Because it's easy. When you lose weight, you do lose a bit of fat, but majorly muscle mass and water. What's challenging is to lose fat, get stronger and preserve muscle mass at the same time. That's real fitness. How Do You Burn More Fat? © Thinkstock Images Muscle cells have a fat burning powerhouse called as the mitochondria. These mitochondria are responsible for the production of energy. More the muscle mass, more amount of mitochondria, and more the fat burning capacity of the body. The body needs a strong reason to produce more mitochondria. This reason is given by weight training and high-intensity workouts. These workouts create a large demand for energy above what your body can already produce and hence, the body is forced to create new mitochondria. What Happens When You Crash Diet? The exact opposite happens when you lose excess weight faster. You are slowing your metabolism down, as you are losing all your precious muscle mass. When you are training for strength, your muscle mass is going to go up. When this happens, your fat burning capacity goes up but also does go up your weight, because muscles are denser than fat. 6. PS4 owners have been facing issues with their consoles due to a message that contains characters, which reportedly crashes the PlayStation 4. In many cases, users are forced to perform a factory reset on the hardware to get it working again. This sort of bug has been previously seen on smartphones, where a text message can basically freeze up your smartphone. The message that is being sent to numerous users is likely being sent by online rival players to shut down the console and have them booted out from a game. This is not an isolated incident and has been reported by multiple users on Reddit and other social media platforms. © Reddit How Can One Avoid It? There are a few ways to avoid this problem in case you get the message on your console. You can either delete the message from the PlayStation Messages app on iOS or Android. You can also follow the instructions below to avoid getting messages like these in the future. Restrict Messages © Pexels On your PS4, you can go to Settings > Account Management > Privacy Settings and then click on “Personal Info | Messages”. It will open a sub-menu where you need to select Messages. You can now restrict receiving messages from Friends which will block out any malicious messages from players you do not know. As of now, Sony is yet to confirm this issue officially, however, it seems likely that the Japanese company will roll out a firmware update to resolve this problem.
