  1. Asif Ali and Iftikhar Ahmed are of club standard and they should not be selected even for domestic teams, says Sadiq Mohammad
  2. Sohail's playing heyday came between 1990 and 2000, far too early to benefit from the T20 revolution begun by the Indian Premier League
  3. Sarfaraz's sacrificial animals are raised with great love and proper nutrition which add to their beauty
  4. Post circulated as Muslims took to streets in huge protests around Asia, sparked by firebrand politician Nupur Sharma's anti-Islam comments
  5. Michael Salter ditches court as charges of domestic violence against him were dropped on mental health grounds
  6. Rizwan is the first-ever cricketer in the history of T20 cricket to amass over 2,000 runs in a calendar year
  7. Pakistan cricket captain Babar Azam said that his cousin denied him a pair of joggers during his early years in the game. Former national cricketer and one of Babar’s cousins, Umar Akmal, reacts to the claims and reveals how true those allegations are. "When I was First Selected for U15, I asked my cousins if they have extra pair of shoes for me But they said "No, we don't". Then I decided not to borrow anything & will do everything on My own from here" __King Babar Azam Source: (KBSAKIB) pic.twitter.com/taFnJmD70J — Farwa Munir (@Fatii_PTI) January 7, 2022 Umar Akmal, Pakistani wicketkeeper-batsman, has responded to Babar Azam's claim that his cousin denied him a "pair of joggers" during his cricketing formative years. In a January interview with former Pakistan captain and batting great Inzamam-ul-Haq, Babar addressed his early troubles in cricket in-depth, and mentioned the incident as he discussed his early days in cricket. Babar claimed that he had asked his cousin if he had any joggers, but he refused, claiming that he didn't. The skipper went on to say that he quickly realised he shouldn't have asked for the shoes in the first place. Babar's remark drew a lot of attention, and his father, Azam Siddique, had to clarify the Pakistan captain's stance. His father added on his Instagram account that if one child had asked for the shoes and the other didn't have them or didn't offer them for whatever reason, it wasn't a big problem. Still, a lot of Pakistani fans were enraged at Babar’s cousins, all of whom have played international cricket for the country in the past for not showing their support for arguably the best and the most talented cricketer to have come out of that family. Extremely thankful to Babar's cousins(Akmal bros) who refused to lend their shoes to Babar. And Babar never looked back thereafter. You might not have contributed to Pak cricket directly but you gave us BABAR AZAM..Thanks for this#BabarAzam𓃵 #PAKvAUS pic.twitter.com/DSahORVv5H — ꪑꪊꫝꪖꪑꪑꪖᦔ ꪀꪖᦔꫀꫀꪑ (@Agronomist__oo9) April 3, 2022 Akmal, one of Babar's relatives, spoke out about the Pakistan captain's remarks four months later. Akmal, who has represented Pakistan in 16 Tests, 124 ODIs, and 84 T20Is, said he has no idea who of the relatives refused to give Babar their sneakers. Umar Akmal says it wasn’t him or his brothers who refused to give shoes to Babar Azam pic.twitter.com/CF6z5JdEnC — Ghumman (@emclub77) April 8, 2022 The former Pakistan wicketkeeper claimed he doesn't know who of his cousins declined to give Babar shoes, but that they have all always supported their relatives who wish to play cricket. Akmal revealed that he has never turned down a request and that those close to him are well aware of this. Ace batter and the leader of the Pakistani squad, Babar has been on one of his best runs in international cricket, scoring two hundred in the Test series against Australia and two more centuries in the three-match ODI series against Aaron Finch's team. Pakistan lost the Test series 0-1, but won the One-Day Internationals 2-1. View the full article
