  1. The trailer for the upcoming Netflix drama series 'Leila', based on Prayaag Akbar's novel by the same name, has been dropped online. After 'Sacred Games' and 'Ghoul', we have 'Leila' and the trailer introduces you to the dystopian world. For the uninitiated, dystopian world is the exact opposite of what you think is perfect. The utopian world is perfect and dystopian is an imaginary society that is dehumanising and something not very pleasant to your eyes. Netflix doesn't fail to impress the viewers with its sense of fresh content and 'Leila' is one such example. The web series stars Huma Qureshi, Siddharth, Rahul Khanna, Seema Biswas, Akash Khurana, Sanjay Suri and Arif Zakaria, among others. The trailer will give you one nail-biting experience and trust us, you wouldn't want to wait till June 14 to see all the episodes. It's intriguing, interesting and spine chilling at the same time. The trailer would make you travel to the dystopian world and you would empathise with Huma's character. The dystopian drama is co-directed by Deepa Mehta, Shanker Raman, and Pawan Kumar. It's a six-episode series that follows Shalini (Huma), a mother in search of her daughter Leila whom she lost. 'Leila' is set in an imagined world, Aryavarta in which there is great suffering, extreme and totalitarian rules of engagement and fictional extremes constructed around an obsession with purity, communal and divisive societal dramas and grit. The whole idea of purity is reintroduced to the viewers. The Godfather of Aryavarta wants to fix the world and wants no mixed-race children. Watch the trailer here: "Leila has been a fantastic Netflix project to work on. I'm thrilled to be essaying Shalini, whose unique mix of strength, grace, and optimism is what gets her through all kinds of obstacles. So it really has been an honour to portray a character that has not only pushed me as an artist but I believe will resonate with a lot of young women. It is unlike anything I have done before and I can't wait for Netflix to take this story to the world," Huma had earlier said at an event. We are thrilled and can't wait to see all the episodes as soon it airs on Netflix. With this, we can say that Netflix has room for great content.
  2. We've seen so many pictures that were clicked right before catastrophe struck and half the time they're chilling and the rest of the time they're funny. Now, there's a picture that's going viral that was clicked just an hour before the Notre Dame Cathedral fire started and it's going viral for all the right reasons. Brooke Windsor managed to capture a beutiful moment right in front of Notre Dame and clicked a heartwarming picture of what seems like a father and daughter playing around and having fun. While it is already an adorable picture, what makes it special was that it was clicked about an hour before the terrible fire occured at the historical place. I took this photo as we were leaving #NotreDame about an hour before it caught on fire. I almost went up to the dad and asked if he wanted it. Now I wish I had. Twitter if you have any magic, help him find this ðð¼ pic.twitter.com/pEu33ubqCK — Brooke Windsor (@brookeawindsor) April 16, 2019 I don't have to tell anyone about teh power of social media and that's why Brooke also asked everyone to help her find them so they can have this memorable picture. Ever since she shared this on Twitter, the picture and the tweet and have gone viral with everyone trying to help out in any way they can, even if it's just a retweet. The replies to the tweet also became a place where everyone shared their own last picture of Notre Dame and they're all so beautiful. Inside before the fires. My friends noticed the smoke, and we followed (2/?) pic.twitter.com/l76nF0jAIv — Brooke Windsor (@brookeawindsor) April 16, 2019 This particular story is pretty similar to viral story from last year when someone clicked a picture of two strangers getting engaged and managed to capute that memorable moment at Yosemite National Park. Twitter help, idk who these two are but I hope this finds them. I took this at Taft Point at Yosemite National Park, on October 6th, 2018. pic.twitter.com/Rdzy0QqFbY — Matthew Dippel (@TheCornChips) October 17, 2018 Good news though, he managed to finally find them so there's a lort of hope for the Notre Dame picture as well.
  3. At just 18 years of age, Muskan Kirar must feel on top of the world after bagging four medals including two golds, one silver and one bronze medal and was crowned the 'Individual Champion' in Compound women category at the 2019 Asia Cup World Ranking Archery Stage-1 in Bangkok on Monday. NEWS. India's Muskan Kirar ð¹ ð®ð³ defends Asia Cup ðð gold in Bangkok #archery ð¹ð¯ https://t.co/Bs0izP4q65 pic.twitter.com/hyIKv4TIXN — World Archery (@worldarchery) March 29, 2019 As sports enthusiasts, we are a sucker for stories that epitomise the rise of classic underdogs and Kirar's narrative does not disappoint. Hailing from the town of Jabalpur, Muskan has never been the one to back away from hard work. In an interview with india.com, her father spoke of her rigorous regimen during which Muskhan spends around nine hours every single day, putting in the effort just to get one step closer to perfecting her craft. And as a dedicated sports person, her achievements speak a thousand words about her sincerity and affection towards the game. Making a stunning debut on the professional level a couple of years ago in 2017, she put the national selectors on notice during the Senior Asian Championship in Dhaka and even managed to reach the Asia Cup Stage-3 the same year in Taipei, Taiwan in the senior category. But the archer was able to win her first gold in the sub-junior category during the 2017 season of National Archery Competition in Bhubaneswar and did not look back ever since. Before dominating the range at this year's Asia Cup, Kirar visited Bangkok in 2018 and had taken 'Krung Thep' by storm and won the gold back then as well. However, a big portion of credit behind Muskan's skyrocketing career must be given to her father Virendra Kirar who runs a butcher shop in their hometown of Jabalpur. “None of us usually talk about my profession as people look down upon it… But with whatever money I earn, I help my children accomplish their dreams,” Mr. Kirar told india.com. A father of three children, Virendra has made sure to not compromise with the sporting dreams of his kids. With Muskan clearly making a name for herself, her father is also dedicated to send his younger daughter Saloni into archery as well while making his boy, Basu, a karate expert. How often do we overlook the wonderful support system an athlete's family becomes for them. Parents like Virendra Kirar, go through hell to earn a living, only to give up on their own dreams and aspirations and make the world happen for their children. While there is no doubt that Muskan Kirar's relentless pursuit of her dreams got her to where she is right now, we have to acknowledge the sacrifices her father has made to make it a reality.

Yet, before we go ahead and claim we know what they are upto, we would like to ask @khan.ira, “BOYFRIEND???!!!”
  5. Salman Khan and Alia Bhatt are big names in Bollywood, and yesterday must have been a big day for the two mega stars when it was announced that Salman and Alia are all set to officially grace the screens as a lead pair in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's next film titled 'Inshallah'. After a gap of 20 years, Salman and Bhansali will be seen working together, their last film together being 'Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam'. Salman took to Twitter to share the announcement and said that he is looking forward to the journey. It's been 20 years but I am glad Sanjay and I are finally back in his next film, Inshallah. Looking forward to work with Alia and inshallah we will all be blessed on this journey.#Inshallah #SLB @aliaa08 @bhansali_produc @SKFilmsOfficial — Salman Khan (@BeingSalmanKhan) March 19, 2019 Alia also confirmed on Twitter that she had been roped in as the female lead in Bhansali's next opposite Salman. She also stated that she is looking forward to work with Salman and Bhansali for this film. Dream with your eyes wide open they say & I did. Sanjay Sir and Salman Khan are magical together & I can't wait to join them on this beautiful journey called “Inshallah” â¤#Inshallah #SLB @BeingSalmanKhan @bhansali_produc @SKFilmsOfficial @prerna982 — Alia Bhatt (@aliaa08) March 19, 2019 Soon after, Alia posted another tweet sharing with her followers that she has waited for a long time to live her dream of working with Sanjay Leela Bhansali. I was 9 when I first walked into Sanjay Leela Bhansali's office, all nervous and hoping and praying that I would be in his next film. It's been a long wait. — Alia Bhatt (@aliaa08) March 19, 2019 However, Twitter couldn't digest the pairing as well as the 30-year age gap between the lead actors. That gave rise to speculations over the plot of the movie and Twitter thinks 'Inshallah' might be a story about a father and daughter's relationship on the basis of the casting. Pretty soon, an ancient photo of Salman and Alia was dug out to make their point, and netizens haven't been able to shut up ever since. 6. All the desi grooms out there, there's a piece of great news for all of you. A multi-millionaire father is looking for a groom for his daughter who he says is single, virgin and can speak multiple languages. Meet 58-year-old Arnon Rodthong, a multi-millionaire from Thailand, who owns a huge durian (yep, the smelliest fruit on the face of the earth) farm in a province in southern Thailand. © Facebook Just like any other father in the world, Arnon too is concerned about his 26-year-old daughter, Karnsita Rodthong's marriage and future. So, he decided to take the matter into his own hands and made a bizarre and inescapable offer for his future son-in-law. Arnon has announced to offer 10 million baht (Rs. 2.19 crore approx.) as well as his entire estate to the man who marries his daughter. In fact, he is even willing to waive off the 'dowry fee' that a groom is expected to pay to his future wife (it's a part of the custom in some parts of Thailand). © Facebook According to Arnon, Karnsita helps him run the family business, can speak fluent English and Chinese and is a virgin. "I want someone to take care of my business and make it last. I don't want a person with a bachelor's, or master's or philosopher's degree," he said. He further added, "I want a diligent man. I just want someone with a hard-working attitude. That's all." What's more, there are no restrictions on the future groom's nationality, as long as they 'work hard and make Karnsita happy'. © Facebook While the dad has plans of giving it all to his future son-in-law, his daughter seems to have plans of her own on how she wants to use that money. Reportedly, Karnsita, who is overwhelmed by all the attention she is getting after her father's offer, hints that her future husband might have to struggle to take out money from her father because she would "like to use it herself for plastic surgery in Korea." Well, now we're curious about that lucky guy who will get Karnsita, 10 million baht and huge durian farms.
  7. The Indian Army is the largest standing volunteer army in the world, which is not only known for its bravado and daredevilry when it comes to standing guard over their motherland, but its soldiers also inspire awe and unceasing respect for their selflessless service towards the nation. All of us feel strongly about these men and women who dare to face death in their line of duty. After all, we owe so much of the life we're living to them. It is their sacrifice and selfless passion to serve the country and its people, that allows us to enjoy the kind of safe and fun life we lead, day after day. © Twitter But how often do we stop to acknowledge their service and pay homage to their sacrifices? Well, a martyred soldier's 6-year-old daughter recalls her papa's lessons on the Indian Army, and it will remind you to take a moment and appreciate the numerous lives that constantly look death in the eye, so that innocent lives can be saved. © Honourpoint On 29th November 2016, Major Akshay Girish Kumar and Major Gosavi Kunal Mannadir were killed in an ambush in Nagrota, along with five other jawans. Two years since his passing away, Akshay's little daughter was seen recalling her father's teachings about the Indian Army in a video, which has since been actively circulated on social media. In the video Akshay's daughter Naina can be seen telling us what her father told her about the Indian Army. Check out the video here: A year after Akshay's martyrdom, Naina recollects conversations with her papa. Here she teaches us what 'Army is...' This random video captures innocence and faith. 8. Our mothers will always protect us from anything and everything under the sun, but if you piss her off then there's nothing, I repeat nothing, that can save you from her wrath. The incident that I am going to talk about now, is a legendary proof of the same. Fights between teenagers and parents is nothing unsual, nor is it strange for the kids to walk out of the house in anger and parents going after them to pursue them. This teenager in Mexico too must have fought with her mother and ran out of the house. But, here's a twist. The mother in question is not your regular parent. I would like to call her a 'ninja mom' especially after looking at her technique of stopping her kid. She didn't run after her. Instead, she launched her weapon - her chappal aka flip-flop - at her daughter and that weapon flew a ridiculous distance to hit her. When I say ridiculous, I mean nearly 30 meters. She should probably have an 'Angry Bird' game of her own. ¡Nunca subestimen el poder de la chancla! ð pic.twitter.com/Btmib1JUol — Niño Triqui (@nino_triqui) January 16, 2019 Such was the impact of the chappal of our ninja mom that her daughter was shocked to see it and tripped. People on internet have already started a virtual petition (not really) to make her compete in the Olympics for 'chanclazo volador' (flying flip-flop), because her throwing skills are pure gold.
  9. Ever since the so-called 'special' episode of 'Koffee With Karan' aired last Sunday, the lives of Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul have turned around for all the wrong reasons. Owing to their misogynist and sexist comments on the show, the two Indian cricketers have already faced a lot of backlash as they await fitting punishment for their actions on national TV. After the Committee of Administrators (CoA) chief Vinod Rai's recommendation of a two-ODI ban, the duo was charged with misconduct and indiscipline before being suspended from all forms of cricket pending a detailed inquiry into the controversy. The two cricketers were later forced to return home from Australia where the Indian cricket team is currently engrossed with the ODI series. Amid the uproar on social media, Virat Kohli made his stand clear and stated that the comments made by Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul are not are not acceptable and the personal opinions are not the view of the India team. "We, definitely, as the Indian cricket team do not support views like that and that has been communicated. I can definitely say that as the Indian cricket team and responsible cricketers we definitely don't align with those views and those are purely individual views," Kohli had said ahead of India's first ODI against the Aussies at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG). BCCL Following Kohli's strong stance on the demeanour of the two cricketers, Harbhajan Singh, too, came out all guns blazing against Pandya and Rahul for tarnishing the image of the game and those who play it. even went on to add that he won't be comfortable having Pandya and Rahul around his wife and daughter. "I will not travel with these two guys in the bus if my daughter or my wife are travelling in the team bus with me. How would they feel? You are looking at women in only one angle and that is not right," Harbhajan told India Today. The veteran Indian spinner also pointed out that the duo's comments have now put every cricketer's reputation on the line. "We don't talk about all this even with our friends and they were talking on public television. Now people might think was Harbhajan Singh like this, was Anil Kumble like this and was Sachin Tendulkar," Harbhajan added. Instagram/@hardikpandya93 "Pandya has been in the team for how long to talk of the team culture in the manner he did. I think this is the way to go," the 38-year-old said, when asked about the suspension. "The BCCI did the right thing, and this is also the way forward. This was expected and I am not surprised," Bhajji said. Following the nation-wide outrage, Pandya and Rahul, in response to the BCCI's showcause notice demanding an explanation from the two cricketers, had regretted their actions and apologised for hurting the sentiments of people. However, the BCCI officials unanimously decided to suspend the Pandya and Rahul while ordering an inquiry into the row.

  11. There is something about sportspersons and their humble beginnings that captures the imagination of fans, unlike others. An athlete fighting all the hardships early on and then going on to become an icon, serves as the perfect premise for a story. Take Cristiano Ronaldo for instance, the man rose through the ranks from being born into the ghettos of Madeira to becoming one of the world's best footballers. It's not that we get emotional or pity them (maybe sympathise a little), but the reason their stories seem to become the best ones and eventually strike a chord with the common folk, is because they inspire us to overcome our own hardships. It gives hope to all those who seek inspiration to turn the tide in their favour. The 2018 edition of the Asian Games brought a few stories like these into the spotlight. There were athletes who struggled severely in their daily life, but they neither stopped dreaming, nor did they give up hope. And, at the Games, these miracle workers produced spectacular performances and the glory was theirs for the taking. These young Indian eves after creating sensation in Poland are now aiming to seal their berth as the most promising prospects and next generation boxers for India. Let wish these young pugilists #allthebest. ð®ð³ðªð#PunchMeinHainDum #boxing pic.twitter.com/ojNMn5NGRh — Boxing Federation (@BFI_official) September 18, 2018 While the Asian Games have come to an end, the inspirational stories of Indian athletes continue to throng the limelight. A similar tale came to the fore at the 13th International Silesian Boxing Championships for women, where 16-year-old Sandeep Kaur made India proud by bagging a gold medal in women's boxing. Congratulations Sandeep Kaur for winning gold in 52 kg category in 13th international Silesian boxing. You are an inspiration to all the young girls.#WomenPositivehttps://t.co/6CorkkSMnF — All India Mahila Congress (@MahilaCongress) September 25, 2018 The teenage girl made sure that the Indian tricolour was flying high in Poland, by winning the yellow metal in the 52kg weight category (junior section). Plying her trade against home favourite Karolina Ampuska, Sandeep decimated her opponent with a barrage of punches to eventually secure a 5-0 win in the summit clash. It was undoubtedly the biggest moment of her budding career, but success didn't come easy for the youngster. Born into a poor family in Patiala's Hassanpur village, Sandeep was fighting for basic amenities long before opponents in the ring. Her father Sardar Jasvir Singh earns the daily bread and butter for his family by driving an auto. Thanks for making India Proud... Congrants Sandeep Kaur! — Aakriti Jain (@jain_minnie) September 25, 2018 Given their financial conditions, Sandeep was forced by her family members and fellow villagers to give up the sport and contribute by taking up a job. But, while everyone joined the chorus to end her boxing stint, Sandeep's father remained unmoved and worked harder to ensure his daughter didn't have to give up the sport. Sandeep's love affair with boxing began through her uncle Simranjit Singh, who used to box at a village academy. "I used to go with my uncle to a boxing academy near our village when I was a child. At the academy, I saw several youngsters box, and gradually my interest in the sport grew. I was eight when I first picked up the boxing gloves and started training," the youngster told TOI. She deserves praise.... — Rishikesh Chandel (@RishikesChandel) September 25, 2018 But, her decision to pursue boxing drew flak from all corners. Her relatives were convinced that she'd fail and achieve nothing, while Sandeep's fellow villagers persistently slammed her family for allowing the girl to pursue a man's sport. But, despite all the resistance, Sandeep's family - especially her father - stood by her side and motivated the young girl to dream big. Today, despite her short height and tender age, Sandeep stands taller than all the naysayers she has encountered in her life. The sight of the young girl standing on the podium with a gold medal around her neck was the perfect embodiment of perseverance and hard work- one that outlasted the criticism and resistance from all those who believe that women shouldn't take up a man's sport.
  12. Salman Khan has helmed and launched the career wagon of many actors, including star kids in Bollywood. The man minces no emotions and is pretty clear about favouring the ones he believes have potential. Joining his list of protégés, Pranutan, Mohnish Bahl's daughter is now under his wings. 13. Every kid wants to live up to the expectations of their parents, fulfil their dreams and make them proud. Similarly, all parents want to see their children excel and reach greater heights in life. And when the kids outshine their parents, their happiness and joy is unparalleled. No one can understand this emotion better than AR Umamaheswara Sarma, a father whose pride knows no bounds, ever since he greeted his daughter with a salute. Umamaheswara has been serving in the police for over three decades now and is currently working as the Deputy Commissioner of Police in Malkajgiri area in Telangana. © Facebook Yesterday, during the public meeting of Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) at Kongara Kalan, he met his daughter Sindhu Sarma for the first time as a cop while on duty. Sindhu is the Superintendent of Police in Telangana and is Umamaheswara's senior officer. © Twitter "This is the first time we have come together while doing our duties. I am fortunate to work with her," said the proud father. He further added, "She is my senior officer. When I see her, I salute her. We do our respective duties and don't discuss this, but at home, we are just like any father and daughter." Sarma, who is retiring next year, started his career as a sub-inspector, while his daughter Sindhu is an IPS officer from the 2014 batch.
  14. Do you remember your first job interview? That nervousness of walking inside the room where employers are eagerly waiting to scan and judge you on the basis of your CV. In fact, most of us lost the game solely because someone else's CV was stronger than ours. Writing an impressive resume is one of the hardest steps in the quest to get a job. You probably had to take advice from your parents or elder siblings on where to start and efficiently list down your skills, qualifications and achievements. While most of us got the best suggestions to ace our resume game, I am sure a certain 16-year-old Lauren Moore from North Yorkshire is currently regretting (or maybe not) her decision to let her dad write her resume. Lauren Moore/ Twitter The CV looked like a generic one with everything mentioned such as achievements, grades, skills and experience; but it was the content inside that was pure gold. He mentioned 'giving out all clients' information to fraudsters', 'digging holes looking for gold', 'browsing Facebook' and 'f**king everything up' as responsibilities and 'lazy', 'late', 'rude' and 'couldn't give a f**k' as skills and personal qualities. Lauren Moore/ Twitter At least now we know who is not getting a job anytime soon. Lauren posted this hilarious CV on social media with the caption, "Remind me not to let my dad do my CV for me." Well, it's too late Lauren! And this ingenious dad made sure not to miss out on the most important part of the CV - reference. While we list our seniors or former colleagues, he listed a probation officer called Ben Dover and wrote, "Don't contact him, he doesn't give a f**k either." Lauren Moore/ Twitter Her friends and everyone else who read this masterpiece was left in splits and we're sure you too won't be able to hold your laughter as well, once you take a look at the incredible CV. So folks, the next time your parents tell you, "You cannot fool us! We know everything about you," do not take those words lightly. Who knows, they might have a CV ready for you as well.
