The trailer for 'Yamla Pagla Deewana Phir Se' is out and prepare yourself for some bad news, which I'm sure you were already expecting. If you are a Deol clan fan and were waiting for this film with bated breath, then you are in for great disappointment. The third instalment in the YPD franchise just makes us wonder that why on earth can't Bollywood get over making sequels? How about making a good movie, instead of trying to cash in on the success of its previous parts? © Saregama Music The movie, no doubt, brings together Dharmendra, Sunny, and Bobby Deol. And who doesn't like seeing one big happy family in one frame? Yes, we love the Deols but can't say the same for their upcoming movie. © Saregama Music Bringing the same old stale comedy is YPDPS, which revolves around the same cliché concept that Bollywood has been selling for decades now. © Saregama Music Dharmendra is introduced to us as Yamla Parmar — a womaniser and an alcoholic. The man is full of life and aims to enjoy every moment. In fact, he also imagines about having pretty women all around him. But, the question here is, why make him play the same role again and again? He is a legend and sorry to say this, but this is downright insulting! © Saregama Music Sunny Deol is a 'vaidh' (Doctor) this time, whose 'dhai-kilo-ka-haath' still has the same effect but we doubt Millenials would connect with it. © Saregama Music Bobby Deol, who was brought to life by Salman Khan in 'Race 3', is seen trying to please actress Kriti Kharbanda in the movie. © Saregama Music This time, the three Punjabi mundas travel to Gujarat, the dry state, and pretend to be Gujus. Adding to the ruckus are Salman Khan, Sonakshi Sinha and Rekha (do the makers really think they can save this movie?). And that's not it; they are here with a new version of “Rafta Rafta Dekho Aankh Meri Ladi Hai”, because Bollywood's new goal is all about murdering iconic numbers. So much in the name of originality, we tell you! Check out the trailer here: Directed by Navaniat Singh, 'Yamla Pagla Deewana Phir Se' is slated for release on 15th August.
Every time we think of Dharam paaji, the song 'Main Jat Yamla Pagla Deewana' instantly pops up in our head. The magic of the song is still so fresh in our minds that we can't help but groove to its beat even now. © Saregama Well, the 70's were all about Dharmendra's quintessential persona and charm, as there was no one who wasn't mesmerised by his aura. And when his sons Sunny and Bobby joined him for a movie, it was an absolute success. © Saregamapa Music The first installment of 'Yamla Pagla Deewana' brought the whole Deol family together in the most entertaining manner imaginable. Fans couldn't have asked for more and the YPD franchise successfully managed to entertain the viewers. 'Yamla Pagla Deewana' (2010) and 'Yamla Pagla Deewana 2' (2013) were loved for their quirky dialogues and spot-on humour. And now comes the third installment 'Yamla Pagla Deewana Phir Se' which sadly fails to leave a mark on us. © Saregama It's not the actors who disappoint, but the cliché and stale comedy that we have been seeing for a decade, which completely falls flat on its face. No doubt it's great to see the trio together, but there is nothing fresh in their equation. It's just the old cocktail in a new bottle. © Saregama Dharmendra is introduced to us as Yamla Parmar — a womaniser, who is full of life and young at heart. Sunny Deol is a 'vaidh' (Doctor) this time, whose 'dhai-kilo-ka-haath' cannot go unnoticed and Bobby Deol is someone who just aims to please women. © Saregama While some dialogues might crack you up, the rest leave you with a blank face. However, Bobby pulling off Dharam's iconic drunk scene from 'Sholay', is something you just can't miss. But we've got to admit that no one can recreate what Dharam paaji did! © Saregama Adding to the franchise this time is also Salman Khan, who joins the bandwagon as Mastana. Sadly, his cameo doesn't add anything to the flick and we hope the film has something better to offer. © Saregama Check out the teaser here: Directed by Navaniat Singh, 'Yamla Pagla Deewana Phir Se' is slated to release on 15 August.
