The Indian Premier League (IPL), without any doubt, is the biggest cricket league in the world. In fact, not just cricket, IPL is one of the most popular sports leagues in the world. With every new season, its viewership touches new heights as more and more fans tune in to watch the action unfold, either in front of their television sets or smartphones. © Twitter Apart from attracting billions of eyeballs, the IPL has also filled the coffers of the BCCI, the franchises and the official broadcasters. According to a report published by Duff and Phelps, the IPL has the fourth most expensive broadcasting rights in the world. The host broadcasters Star India paid around Rs 64.37 Cr in broadcasting fee per match to the BCCI in 2020. © Twitter/IPL The top three spots belong to the National Football League (Rs 131.78 Cr), English Premier League (Rs 79.52 Cr) and Major League Baseball (Rs 72.70 Cr), respectively. Germany’s top-flight football league Bundesliga comes in at fifth spot with Rs 29.53 Cr while the NBA takes the sixth place earning Rs 15.90 Cr per match through broadcasting rights. What’s interesting is that all the other leagues on the list have a long history while the IPL came into existence merely a decade back in 2008. However, little did Sanju Baba know that the party would be known and remembered for all the wrong reasons. As per reports, during the party things hadn't been well between Farah's husband Shirish and Shah Rukh after the former took a dig at SRK's film Ra.One by tweeting “I just heard a 150 crore firework fizzle" about it. However, a source speaking to TOI back then, said that despite the incident, Shah Rukh avoided Shirish altogether and kept talking to other celebs at the party. But that didn't stop Kunder from creating a stir with SRK, according to the source. “Khan refused to acknowledge Kunder at the party. Even when Dutt escorted SRK outside the venue to introduce him to a close friend, Kunder unabashedly followed them. Kunder placed himself right behind SRK and murmured something into his ear.” said the source. The report quoted another source close to SRK saying, “Shirish started to tail Shah Rukh saying, ‘I am waiting...I am waiting.’ It is reported that Shirish even followed SRK to the washroom and it was later when Shah Rukh came out and held him by the neck and said, "my children were very hurt when you tweeted about the movie. I had promised them I would slap you when I meet you next but I won’t. I am just warning you that don’t mess with me." Following this, it was reported that Shirish replied to SRK by saying, "I don't give a f*** about you." As per report, this was what made SRK lose his cool, after which he brought Shirish down on the ground by pulling his hair and thrashing him. The recently appointed chair of the Pakistan Cricket Board, Ramiz Raja is having an extremely difficult time getting work done due to the security threats in his country and the lack of willingness of international teams to risk the lives of their players by sending them to Pakistan. However, in a new development, the former cricketer and commentator, Raja expressed his worries about how India controls the fate of the PCB and the future of cricket in Pakistan. He even goes on to speculate that Prime Minister Narendra Modi can pull the plug on Pakistani cricket in a moment if he wants to. After New Zealand and England pulled out from their respective series on Pakistani soil last month, Raja confessed that the cricketing operations in the country are completely dependent on the funding they receive from the ICC. He appealed to Karachi’s business community at the Pakistan Stock Exchange on Tuesday with the hopes of reviving cricketing success in the nation once again. “Our cricket is relying on ICC’s funding right now and when I see the books, I get very scared because the contribution of local entrepreneurs is minimal,” the PCB chief had said. Instagram head Adam Mosseri has confirmed that Facebook is going to be making drastic changes to Instagram, primarily to compete with TikTok and Youtube. In fact, from Mosseri’s statement, it looks like Instagram will be more like a TikTok clone in the future than anything else. The move will be a drastic change for Instagram and its users since the app is primary used for sharing square-sized still images. Some would say that it was the essence of the popular social media app that started off as an app for people to showcase their pictures. Instagram already introduced reels to take on TikTok last year and it seems like Facebook will be copying every aspect of the Chinese app as well "People are looking to Instagram to be entertained, there’s stiff competition and there’s more to do,” Mosseri said. “We have to embrace that, and that means change.” Instagram is also testing a new feature for content creators called “Exclusive Stories.” The new feature will be a subscription service for fan club members of a particular content creator.
