Ooa ooa ooa ooa! — BADSHAH (@Its_Badshah) April 14, 2019 To anyone who knows anything about K-Pop, the unbelievable popularity of BTS is not a new development, instead, it does not come as a surprise anymore when celebrities take to social media to show how in awe they are of the seven-member band from South Korea. © Reuters The band recently scripted history by becoming the first K-Pop group ever to win the Top Group Award at the Billboard Music Awards. BTS, who were nominated for the first time ever in this category, won the award by beating out Dan + Shay, Imagine Dragons, Maroon 5 and Panic! At The Disco. 2. Diljit Dosanjh has made a statement through his Instagram post. While the world was busy refreshing their IG feeds to see the craziest lewks at the Met Gala, Diljit Dosanjh too posted how he reimagined the theme 'Camp'. Being invited to the Met Gala means you've arrived and the list is meticulously curated by Anne Wintour and her team. However, Diljit proved that he doesn't need Anne Wintour's approval to dress up for the Met Gala. He posted a short clip as a post wherein he's seen walking hand-in-hand with actor Neeru Bajwa. He's also seen wearing a bedazzled pink shiny two-piece, a blue turban and a peach shirt with a distinctive bow at the centre, while Bajwa was wearing a matching pink dress. They both posed for the paparazzi as they walked off. Take a look: View this post on Instagram A post shared by Diljit Dosanjh (@diljitdosanjh) on May 7, 2019 at 2:57am PDT And we approve of his very 'campy' look. What do you think? Diljit Dosanjh and Neeru Bajwa's “Shadaa” is slated to release on June 21, 2019.
  3. Diljit Dosanjh and Lilly Singh are two celebrities who are most popular with millennials all over the world. While Lilly Singh is a social media sensation across the globe, and enjoys huge following even in her motherland India, Diljit Dosanjh needs no introduction as such since his every other song has been doing all the talking for this terrific singer-turned-actor. View this post on Instagram New video coming today and can I just say I went to literal hell and back to make it happen. So stay tuned... unless a lightening bolt strikes my laptop and destroys it which is honestly not that unlikely at this point ð #IfBollywoodSongsWereRap any guess which song this is from?! ðð½ A post shared by Lilly Singh (@iisuperwomanii) on Mar 27, 2019 at 6:46pm PDT A popular YouTuber, Lilly Singh aka Superwoman was recently topping trends charts for her video titled 'If Bollywood Songs Were Rap' where she talks about women's rights and being Indian in a world dominated by men and the white man's burden. While our man Diljit Dosanjh has been in the news for his upcoming Bollywood project 'Good News' which also stars Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor and Kiara Advani. The first look of the film was released a few hours ago. View this post on Instagram Superwoman ... Gud artist .. God bless her @iisuperwomanii #diljitdosanjh A post shared by Diljit Dosanjh (@diljitdosanjh) on Apr 30, 2013 at 1:28pm PDT However, today, Lilly and Diljit are yet again trending all over social media, and for a reason that is so desi, and so completely Punjabi that every Indian, regardless of their geographical location, will be able to relate to it. View this post on Instagram Toronto Di Lilly Te DosanjhanWala ð When Two Punjabis meet ð¤ð¤© @iisuperwomanii @humblethepoet A post shared by Diljit Dosanjh (@diljitdosanjh) on Apr 4, 2019 at 8:43pm PDT The video is their take on what happens when two theth Punjabis meet each other, in any part of this world, in whatever company and under any given circumstance. The video is on-point and totally relatable. © Instagram Lilly's caption for the video pretty much sums it up perfectly well: “When you meet someone from the motherland. This is DEF how Punjabis greet each other, complete with a 5 minute long hand holding session and family tree check in. To be honest, @diljitdosanjh and I aren't even acting... someone was just rolling when we met up.” Lilly was recently in India for the YouTube Fanfest and met up with Diljit who happens to be an old friend. These two go back a long way, and we totally love what they have whipped up.
  4. Diljit Dosanjh's wax statue was just unveiled at the Madame Tussauds museum in New Delhi. While the statue was all set to be unveiled on February 28th, Diljit waited for a month as a mark of respect for the Pulwama terror attack victims. © Instagram/diljitdosanjh The statue features an ultra fashionable avatar of Diljit, Gucci-ed up top to bottom, but what we simply can't help but fixate on, is the accuracy with which they have fashioned his favourite accessory - an indispensable part of the outfit. © Instagram/diljitdosanjh We are talking about the Gucci Dapper Dan necklace, worth a whopping Rs 2.4 lakhs, that Diljit wears all the time. © Instagram/diljitdosanjh © Instagram/diljitdosanjh © Lyst He has worn the necklace with a number of outfits and carries it off like there's no tomorrow. Clearly, he is just as enamoured by the apt addition as we are. © Instagram/diljitdosanjh This is one of the best renditions of a Bollywood celebrity when it comes to a wax statue, tbh. Congratulations, Diljit. To many more for the future!
  5. Diljit Dosanjh is probably the only other fashionista in the country who can give Ranveer Singh and Karan Johar a solid run for their money when it comes to maximalism. His raw, rustic appeal is a perfect contrast against the hypebeast appeal his clothes exude. His wardrobe can legit be used as a fashion masterclass when it comes to brand-spotting, and some of them are super expensive (duh). Here are 5 pieces that we love, and probably can never afford. 1. The Dapper Dan Necklace From Gucci © Instagram/Diljitdosanjh This one, without a doubt, is Diljit's favourite accessory. He has worn it with almost every statement outfit of his and rocked it every single time. It costs a whopping Rs 2.4 Lakhs. 2. The Oversized Purple Teddy Bear Sweater From Amiri © Instagram/Diljitdosanjh The super playful oversized purple sweater from Amiri with a teddy bear patch costs 1190 Dollars, which when converted to INR, is around Rs 83,500. In its defence, it's really cute. 3. The 'Blame It On My Youth' Leather Jacket By Misbhv © Instagram/Diljitdosanjh Who won't want to own this classic piece with the super funky slogan? They can, of course, if they can spare Rs. 82.500. 4. Balenciaga Oversized Padded Logo-Print Cotton-Poplin Shirt © Instagram/Diljitdosanjh This cotton-poplin shirt with extra-big sleeves from Balenciaga costs INR 1,22,520. 5. Jeans From Gosha Rubchinskiy © Viral Bhayani It's 'not much', but will you be willing to pay INR 36,270 for a pair of jeans? Probably, if you're Diljit! Some day, Paaji, some day.
  6. Kylie Jenner is probably in mourning right now. After all, she's dealing with a very tragic loss. An egg, just an egg, dethroned her. An egg stole her record of having the most liked picture on Instagram. Press F to pay respects. But, don't worry, her knight in a Balenciaga sweatshirt is here to take revenge on her behalf. Diljit Dosanjh's huge crush on Kylie is no secret, he loves her and isn't afraid to show it online. From leaving comments on her Instagram pictures to tweeting to her asking her to be a part of his music videos to literally going on Kim Kardashian's Instagram live to ask about Kylie, Diljit has on many occasions shot his shot. Now, after months of not mentioning her, he's back because he couldn't just sit and watch his love getting dethroned by an egg. So, as a way to take revenge for the egg breaking Kylie's record, he just broke the egg and shared a video of it on Twitter. Ley Ho Geya Kam Jaan..ð¥ð³ Tension FREE Reh Tu..Pa Post'an Rajj Rajj.. ð@KylieJenner #WorldRecordEgg P.S - Sangeya Na Kar... Das Deya Kar Je Koi Gal Hundi aa Tan ðð pic.twitter.com/O3qAWJJICo — DILJIT DOSANJH (@diljitdosanjh) January 16, 2019 Now, this is true love, not being afraid to kill someone - or something - for your crush. The video is great in itself, but the caption also killed it. Yes Kylie, 'pa post'an rajj rajj', don't let an egg stop you. This grand gesture of love was obviously well received online and people can't stop laughing. We're all dead. I'm...ðððDEAD https://t.co/Vhe3bsfr2U — jass/jassii (@woahjass) January 16, 2019 He really does. 7. While certain singers and actors need introduction, the uncrowned 'King of Swag' doesn't need one. We don't think there's anyway who doesn't know about Dosanjh or the fact that he rules millions of hearts, because chances are they might be a part of his huge fanbase. On days when he is not fanboying over Gal Gadot or dropping cheesy messages on her timeline, Diljit Dosanjh is busy taking the whole world by a storm with his impeccable vocals and equally impressive acting prowess. As the 'King of Swag' turns 35 today, let's take a look at some of his amazing movies in Bollywood and the Punjab film industry. 1. Soorma 'Soorma' is a sports biopic based on the life of ace hockey player and former captain of the Indian Hockey Team, Sandeep Singh. Sandeep Singh is a hockey legend in his own right and one of the greatest athletes of all time, who made an epic comeback after he was left paralysed in an accident. 2. Sajjan Singh Rangroot Diljit plays Sepoy Sajjan Singh in this Indian war drama film that is based on the encounters of Sikh soldiers in the British Indian Army fighting on the Western Front, during the First World War. 3. Phillauri A young man returns from Canada to marry his girlfriend, but turns out he has to marry a tree first because he is a manglik. Post his marriage to a tree, he begins to get haunted by a spirit of a woman. While Anushka plays the character of the ghost, Diljit plays her love interest Roop Lal 'Phillauri' and the rest of the movie is weaved in flashbacks of their love story. 4. Udta Punjab 'Udta Punjab' is a black comedy crime movie that revolves around a rock star, a migrant labourer, a doctor and a police officer, who find themselves trapped in the vicious circle of drug abuse by the youth in Punjab, and the various conspiracies surrounding it. 5. Ambarsariya Diljit plays Jatt Ambarsariya, who lives a dual life as an insurance agent and a RAW agent, in this Punjabi comedy thriller. He is given a task of protecting the home minister of Punjab and during his mission falls in love with two women, Jasleen Kaur and Kirat. 6. Jatt & Juliet Diljit plays Fateh Singh, an Indian villager who wants to get married to a Canadian woman to get the citizenship of Canada. Though the Jatt and his Juliet fight a lot initially, they soon find themselves falling for each other. 7. Super Singh Forget Deadpool, we guess Super Singh is the only hilarious superhero we all need in our lives. Diljit plays Sajjan Singh, a Punjabi man who lives in Canada with his mother but soon returns to Punjab to save people after he accidentally gains superpowers. 8. Sardaarji Starring Diljit and Neeru Bajwa, 'Sardaar Ji' is one of the first fantasy films to be made in Punjabi cinema. Diljit plays the role of a ghost hunter, who falls in love with the ghost he was supposed to get rid of. 9. Punjab 1984 Another Punjabi period drama, this film is based on the 1984-86 Punjab insurgency and the impact it had on people's lives, particularly a mother-son duo played by Diljit and Kirron Kher. 10. Jatt & Juliet 2 This is a sequel to the hit Punjabi movie, 'Jatt & Juliet' but with a different storyline. Both Diljit and Neeru Bajwa reprise their characters from the prequel. Diljit plays fateh Singh, a constable who in order to get promoted agrees to go to Canada to find and bring back the commissioner's daughter. He is one of the finest singers, whose songs complete every party. He is an equally kickass fashion icon, whose sass and swag knows no bounds. Apart from all this, he is an equally talented actor and time and again he has proved his mettle to the world. In fact, these pictures are proof. Can I just say this man is running a one-man show, giving both actors and singers a run for their money simultaneously, without batting an eyelid?
  8. If one has to make a definitive list of hypebeasts in the country, two fashionistas will definitely find their names in there. We are talking about Karan Johar - the king of maximalism, and Diljit Dosanjh - the 'Putt Jatt Da' turned super-hypebeast. If you watched the Koffee episode where Diljit and Badshah spilled their fashion beans, you'd already be aware about how seriously both these people take fashion. However, the fashion feud is more intense than we thought and KJo just admitted that he is extremely heartbroken and troubled by Diljit's fashion shenanigans, that never let Karan win the game for a change. © Instagram/karanjohar Karan said there is something Diljit does that makes sure that he constantly is ahead in the fashion game, and Karan is clueless about to what to do to tackle that. He opened up about his fashion struggles in an episode of Neha Dhupia's show, 'No Filter Neha'. © Instagram/karanjohar © Instagram/Diljitdosanjh Karan said Diljit always beats him when it comes to flaunting a new piece or a new brand. "So, I've a big problem Neha. I am really troubled by Diljit Dosanjh. I mean, like you know the thing is that, I think we both are like crazy shoppers and I think we invariably land up wearing the same clothes because we have the same brands that we love, and plus they are also from the new collection and we are bit of like, I'm also an online shopper, so I go through this process of buying these things and wearing them on occasion. But Diljit buys and wears, immediately and puts up an image," he quoted. © Instagram/karanjohar © Instagram/Diljitdosanjh He also recalled an incident where Diljit left him so heartbroken that he almost was on the verge of singing 'Channa Mereya'. "So we had this faux fur jacket, you must specify that because I don't wear fur jackets... it's from a brand called as GCDS (God Can't Destroy Streetwear) and I was saving it for my big photo opportunity time when I was travelling to Europe and suddenly the night before I take that flight, I see the image uploaded by Diljit Dosanjh... I was like I called Nikita, my stylist and I'm like I'm shattered, I'm broken and I'm totally like Channa Mereya out right now because I'm like I wanted to wear this jacket and that was my FWP. And, I was so upset, it broke my heart," he vented. © Instagram/karanjohar © Instagram/Diljitdosanjh All we can say is that it looks like even KJo's fashion struggles are as dramatically eventful as his movies, sigh.
  9. Diljit Dosanjh, as the hypebeast that he has transformed into, never fails to amaze us sartorially. While he usually does it with his shows, appearances and Instagram posts, he has now decided to go beyond that and give a desi twist to that. That explains the grand aesthetic of his look in his latest album 'Roar', the first song of which, 'Gulabi Pagg', just released. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Diljit Dosanjh (@diljitdosanjh) on Dec 18, 2018 at 12:50am PST View this post on Instagram A post shared by Diljit Dosanjh (@diljitdosanjh) on Dec 18, 2018 at 1:44am PST The super colourful outfit, composed of patchwork, and replete with the pleared golden turban, is everything a lively album with a name like 'Roar' should possess. What we love about the shirt is the amalgamation of eclectic elements like the 'Baroque' pattern as well as a leopard. The album songs will also feature some statement outfits, like a waistcoat with lion heads on it. Take a look. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Diljit Dosanjh (@diljitdosanjh) on Dec 17, 2018 at 7:54am PST It will also have the colourful kaleidoscopic elements typically found in Bhangra outfits, replete with lively patterns. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Diljit Dosanjh (@diljitdosanjh) on Dec 16, 2018 at 10:58pm PST Earlier, Diljit shared the album cover and some other clips, which were enough to hype us up about the release of 'Roar'. 10. Diljit Dosanjh and Badshah just appeared together on the latest episode of 'Koffee With Karan', and we can safely conclude that this has been one of the best episodes of the season. While we saw the lighthearted camaraderie between the rockstars, we also saw the savage competition between them when it came to the game rounds. © Hotstar One of the highlights of the episode was the fashion quiz, which we have never seen on KWK before. Honestly, we could tell that this episode had to do a lot with fashion as soon as Karan Johar started telling us about how he is absolutely committed to his airport looks, and that they are a big deal for him. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Star World (@starworldindia) on Dec 9, 2018 at 7:34am PST Karan packed a suitcase full of his personal clothes (a Louis Vuitton suitcase, of course, because nothing else will do), and pulled them out one by one, while testing both of their knowledge on high fashion brands. While Badshah started all guns blazing, Diljit caught up, quickly. © Hotstar © Hotstar The competition kept getting more fierce by minute, and one could see Diljit's focus getting steadier and steadier, till he started belting out the label names with a greater dedication than KJo chooses his airport looks with. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Star World (@starworldindia) on Dec 9, 2018 at 8:12am PST Ultimately, it was Diljit who came out victorious, without having to struggle a lot. © Hotstar While Badshah's 'wakhra swag' is definetly infectious, desi hypebeast Diljit just proved that his fashion knowledge is in an entirely different league. Kudos, Paaji!
  11. This season of 'Koffee With Karan' has already witnessed some interesting pairings like Saif and daughter Sara, and Arjun and his sister Janhvi Kapoor. Tonight's episode is yet to appear but we can safely assume that it is going to be one of the best so far! Diljit and Badshah are going to bring to us some crazy, fun scoop with Karan and the premiere has already hooked us to it. Here are a few things that the duo will be revealing for their fans: 1. Badshah's Motive Behind Changing His Name Badshah's real name is Aditya Prateek Singh Sisodia and he took the stage name after being inspired by none other than King Khan himself. Also, there was a question about his name on KBC for INR 3,20,000 as well! 2. The Science Behind Karan's Airport Looks KJo will reveal that he takes his airport looks very seriously and if he is not caught on the camera, he genuinely gets upset about it. In fact, he does a proper dress rehearsal with his stylist before leaving for the airport and how he will pose. His PR crew informs the paparazzi well in advance to ensure no one misses KJo in action. Diljit's First Public Appearance The Punjabi rockstar will reveal that long before he became famous, he was asked to fill in for a singer back in his village where he took to stage in his vest and knickers and forgot the lyrics to the song. He'll also talk about how he always prayed that everyone should know who he was and he didn't care if he knew anyone. Rockstar Rapsters in the house! Badshah's Career Switch The rap god will talk about his journey from engineering to moving to make music as a career and following his passion. 5. Badshah's Love For SRK And Salman Khan When he will be asked to choose his favourite Khan, the rapper will quip that he is a huge 'Salarukh' fan, which is an amalgamation of SRK and Salman's name. He will also talk about how humble King Khan is and will recount a past experience where how there was a party going on near the vanity van where they had both invited him and added how he was surprised that the two personalities who were so famous were also extremely humble in their demeanour and SRK even served him biryani with his own hands. 12. The latest season of 'Koffee With Karan' is underway, and we are as excited as everyone else. One thing that fashion enthusiasts look for in the show, apart from the gossip and the entertainment factor, of course, are the outfits of the guests, and Karan himself as well. Especially now that KJo has transformed into a cutthroat fashionista, who wears the most statement pieces, our eyes will be glued to everything he will be wearing for his appearance on the cult show. He usually ends up giving others a major complex when it comes to designer labels and luxury brands in terms of outfits, but interestingly enough, the tables turned during his encounter with Diljit Dosanjh and Badshah. © Instagram/badboyshah The pictures of the Koffee episode with Diljit and Badshah are out, and all we can say is 'Wow'. It looks like a fashion battle, and rightfully so. For the uninitiated, KJo, Diljit, and Badshah currently are the Indian celebrities who are most caught up with the racy, edgy, hypebeast-y vibe that international fashion is all about. © Instagram/karanjohar Coming to what all of them are wearing, let's take a peak. To start with, let's focus on KJo. © Instagram/karanjohar Karan is wearing a men's black embroidered-crown Cashmere jacket from Dolce & Gabbana. We love the chill vibe of the jacket, along with the white piping. © Instagram/karanjohar How much does it cost, though? It costs $3,257, which when converted to INR, costs around Rs 2.4 lakhs. Yes, you read that right. However, we couldn't help but focus on Diljit and Badshah's outfits, which stood apart on their own right, being as vibrant and extravagant as their music, as well as personalities. They honestly stole KJo's jacket's thunder, which was uncharacteristically demure. Badshah went ahead and wore one of KJo's favourite brands - Balenciaga. He wore a Logo Print Polo shirt, that costs $682 (about INR 50,000). © Instagram/badboyshah When it comes to Diljit, the first thing we noticed were the statement Gore-Tex trousers by Virgil Abloh's Off-White. This pair here costs $1,046 (about INR 77,000). We also are in love with his Balenciaga sneakers. © Instagram/badboyshah Badshah clearly was wallowing in this newfound, fashionable camaraderie, as proven by his Instagram stories. © Instagram/badboyshah © Instagram/badboyshah We can't wait to see what the rest of the season brings forth.
  13. Diljit Dosanjh is one of those rare celebrities who despite being delightfully down to earth and charmingly rustic, has managed to take his style game to such dizzying heights, that he now effortlessly counts as an international style icon. From embracing the most hypebeast-y of outfits to sporting the most talked about brands in the international fashion scene, Paaji clearly knows how it's done. Here are 8 pictures that support our claim. 1. When neither the rough wilderness nor the uber-futuristic car stood a chance in front of Diljit's multicoloured camo ensemble. © Instagram 2. Who else can make athleisure look as royal as Diljit is, here? It helps that it's all Gucci, but that's a different conversation (winks). © Instagram 3. Black and white can make the boldest of statements. Don't you just love the bag? © Instagram 4. Diljit knows how to do complete justice to the Barocco pattern by Versace. Not an easy print to pull off, we must say! © Instagram 5. Under normal circumstances, we'd advise everyone to steer clear of green overalls. But look at him go! Also, those shoes are everything. © Instagram 6. A pinstriped double-vested suit with a matching turban - if this doesn't make the ladies go weak in the knees, we don't know what would. © Instagram 7. If anyone needs a lesson on how to transform an outfit with accessories, they should consult Mr Dosanjh. © Instagram 8. Colourblocking is in, but it can be a bit of a challenge to pull off, unless of course, you're Diljit Dosanjh. © Instagram
  14. Karan Johar - being the cutthroat fashionista he is - doesn't really need style inspiration. In fact, he is inspiration to hoards of style enthusiasts, courtesy his ever increasing collection of edgy outfits. Given this scenario, when he himself refers to not one, but two people in terms of style inspiration, that's saying something! KJo just took to Instagram with a story, where he referred to our homies Diljit Dosanjh and Badshah as inspirations for the outfit he stepped out wearing. Take a look! © Instagram Karan Johar posted the following story on his Instagram. © Instagram Clearly, Karan considers Diljit and Badshah as supremely well-dressed (a sentiment we echo, tbh). Anyone who has been keeping track of Diljit Dosanjh and Badshah's sartorial journey will testify to their love for oversized jackets, especially from Balenciaga. © Instagram © Instagram Karan rightfully took some inspiration, and wore a Balenciaga Colorblocked Nylon Oversized Track Jacket in Purple and Green, and Balenciaga Triple S Blue and White Sneakers to boot. © Instagram The jacket, with elasticized cuffs and drawstring hems, costs a whopping INR 1,17,193/- © Instagram Coming to the shoes, Karan is wearing the Balenciaga Blue and White Triple S Leather Sneakers. They cost around INR 59,465/- © Farfetch Who knew an outfit could bring people together, outside a KJo movie?
  15. The fact that no one understands the nuances of global fashion as scrupulously as our very own homeboy Diljit Dosanjh, is an established fact by now, and just when we thought his badassery can't cause more mayhem, he went right ahead and proved us wrong by doing something that no mortal has ever dared to. He took on - wait for it - Beyonce. What? Let's just say we're in as much shock as you. Here's what happened. © Instagram Queen B, in all her fierceness, posed in a custom-made Barocco fully printed look with Swarovski crystal embellished bodysuit, cape jacket and Barocco thigh-high leather boots in Chicago during the On 'The Run 2' tour. We weren't quite done appreciating the Goddess in all her glory, when we noticed a mighty beast at the horizon (or shall we say, hypebeast), aiming for the throne. © Instagram Diljit, clad head-to-toe in Versace, wearing basically the same outfit - aesthetic and printwise - as Beyonce, posted a series of pictures on Instagram. Now, we finally know why he calls himself 'fashionkilla'. © Instagram We have never seen a more gutsy instance of nonchalant irreverence (look at those Gucci sliders), that actually is the spirit of the raw and rustic allure associated with this 'Putt Jatt Da' - as he himself so poetically puts forth. © Instagram A post shared by Diljit Dosanjh (@diljitdosanjh) on Aug 11, 2018 at 3:28pm PDT All we can do at this point, is bow down.
  16. Diljit Dosanjh's latest outfit choices are a revelation on who he really is as a person. His wardrobe has gone through a major reshuffle and it turns out that he's an out and out hypebeast. From the weirdest of silhouettes to the most expensive brands, he dabbles in statement outfits without ever skipping a beat. We always knew that bowling shirts are his on and off muse, but his latest appearance in an insane piece reaffirms our belief in this love affair. He stepped out wearing a bowling shirt with crazy patterns and colours, unlike any we have seen before. Take a look. © Viral Bhayani Diljit is wearing the Panther Face Bowling shirt by Gucci. A super premium piece, it not only scores well in terms of its attention-grabbing appeal, but also in terms of comfort, being woven out of silk. Coming to how much it costs - it's worth a whopping $1,280, which when converted to Indian currency, comes close to Rs 88,000. © Farfetch That's one hell of a shirt when it comes to colours, right? Is there any colour that's missing in there? We don't think so. Anyway, what's driving us crazy is that pattern. That panther face pattern is the perfect melange of playful and fierce aesthetics. Let's just say we're in love with it. © Viral Bhayani No one else could have pulled it off with such casual nonchalance as Diljit is all about here (except perhaps Ranveer Singh). Coming to the overall look, he has kept it simple but supremely classy with a pair of black trousers that he has matched with his black turban. © Viral Bhayani The Balenciaga Triple S sneakers in Lime Green is the perfect accompaniment to that outfit in terms of footwear. They also seem to be one of his favourite pairs as he's often been spotted sporting them with a lot of outfits. Good going, Paaji!

On one hand, he is getting a wax statue of his own, while on the other hand, his movie 'Soorma' has received a great response. Playing the role of Indian hockey player Sandeep Singh, on whose life the movie is based, people are simply loving his performance and portrayal of the hockey champion. © SonyPictures While he is already a huge star in Punjab, the actor has now begun to take Bollywood by storm as well. © Twitter He will soon be seen in 'Kaneda' with Anushka Sharma and Arjun Kapoor and 'Arjun Patiala' with Kriti Sanon. We bet today is indeed a great day for all Diljit fans!
  18. The story of 'Soorma' has all the ingredients for a phenomenal movie. "Iss kahani mein sab hai, pyaar, drama, emotions, passion, pagalpan, ups and downs.” But despite all these elements, Shaad Ali's movie does not hit home and that's quite unfortunate. © SonyPictures Based on the inspiring tale of Indian hockey player Sandeep Singh, Shaad Ali takes us through his emotional journey filled with struggles, that will leave you overwhelmed. From nurturing a dream of playing for India to getting grievously injured and then defying all odds with a strong comeback, is what Singh's saga is all about. There is something about biopics, especially those of sports icons, that makes you want to watch it. The hard work, blood, sweat and tears, and the emotional breakdowns make it an irresistible watch. A story of a sportsman is all about chasing your goals relentlessly with a burning passion, and in the case of Sandeep Singh, popularly known as Flicker Singh, it is about scoring goals for the country and winning. © SonyPictures Shaad Ali's choice to cast Diljit Dosanjh in the titular role is the winner. Diljit makes sure that you live Sandeep's journey with him through every frame, a quality that makes you invested in the story. We see his dreams and his passion through his eyes. We understand what hockey is for him and we witness the struggle. Be it trying to learn from the bully coach (Danish Hussain), who often beats the shit out of the young player, or him falling in love with Harpreet (Tapsee Pannu), a hockey player herself. We see his dreams getting shattered when he accidentally gets shot and paralysed from the waist down. Diljit takes you through a rollercoaster ride of pain and helplessness, which makes your heartache. © SonyPictures Diljit rules the screen-time as Singh. His own vibe mixed with that of Singh's transports you to the time when these moments took place. There is not a single moment where you lose sight of Diljit's talent. But making a biopic comes with its own hardships, especially when you pick a star player, whose story has ruled the news channels, made headlines and whose fall and an epic comeback was witnessed by the whole nation. It's all about making it dramatic (need of moviemaking) but not overdramatic (because no one likes it when unnecessary factors overpower an awe-inspiring story). But that's where the film loses its effect. © SonyPictures Shaad Ali's movie is likeable and enjoyable till pre-interval. You love the journey until you realise that Sandeep Singh's story deserves better....a lot better, because his tale is worth every penny. 'Soorma' is yet another movie with an excellent cast, a great story sans the maker's clear vision and execution. The story sails perfectly when we see him with his brother (Angad Bedi), who wants to play for India. But things go haywire and start falling apart when the makers focus on building his character as a hero- a legend, sweating it out on the field with a blaring score, a lot of tears and sobs, infused with unnecessary dance numbers. All of a sudden, the movie isn't about hockey or the player anymore, but turns into a melodramatic narrative, losing its original essence in one go. © SonyPictures The way the movie rolls out makes you wish that Ali would have given this script some more time and thought, and also a better perspective, which would have brought a great difference to the chronicle he is unfolding on the silver screen. After all, Singh's narrative isn't something you see every day. The impressive cast holds the fort and builds the aura even during the dull moments. Tapsee's raw emotions and screen presence stay with you. Bedi is incredible as the brother; Hussain is brilliant as a bully-coach who is feared. Vijay Raaz as a senior coach adds life to the biopic with some brilliantly written dialogues. © SonyPictures It is sad that despite having a talent like Diljit, the makers fail to harness the real potential of such a brilliant biopic and present us with a mediocre work, missing some major home goals.
  19. Diljit Dosanjh is an unstoppable one-man army, who is delivering some of the finest performances both in the music and film industry right now. And the latest feather in his cap of achievements, is his upcoming ambitious biopic 'Soorma', where he is playing the character of Indian hockey legend Sandeep Singh. © Instagram The teasers, trailers and the songs of the movie, that is releasing this week, have already intrigued us and taken our excitement to a pinnacle. Only time will tell how Diljit and Taapsee Pannu manage to capture our hearts with their performance. © Instagram Ahead of the release of 'Soorma', Diljit visited Sandeep Singh's hometown Shahabad in Haryana and met his family. In fact, he also visited the hockey turf where Singh practices. He received a special gift from Singh's father that probably made his day – Sandeep Singh's personal hockey stick. Similarly for any sportsperson, the equipments they play with are the closest to their heart and for Sandeep Singh, aka Flicker Singh, things were no different. According to a report in The Times Of India, it is the same hockey stick that Sandeep Singh was carrying when he met with the accident that changed his life, and also during the time he was paralyzed. Diljit posted on his social media thanking the family for this sweet gesture and wrote, “Es Ke Layek Toh Nahi Mai Lekin Maa Ka PYAR TO NALAYEK BACHE KE LIYE BHI SAME HOTA HAI.” #Soorma 13th July ððð Es Ke Layek Toh Nahi Mai Lekin Maa Ka PYAR TO NALAYEK BACHE KE LIYE BHI SAME HOTA HAI ððð Thx @sandeep_rebirth Bhaji & FAMILY ðð A post shared by Diljit Dosanjh (@diljitdosanjh) on Jul 8, 2018 at 5:50am PDT 'Soorma' is slated to release on July 13 and will touch base with the inspiring story of Sandeep Singh, whose legendary comeback continues to inspire and motivate people to never give up and lose hope.
