  1. India's biggest festival for the four legged took place a few weeks back in the capital, on the 28th and 29th of December 2019, and people made their way to the NSIC grounds in Okhla, to witness a life changing experience for their pets. Pet Fed is India's biggest carnival for pets, which usually takes place in an open area where people can spend adequate time with their four-legged. This time we saw a lot of people in Delhi bring in their cats and dogs and have themselves quite an adventure. Now Pet Fed is ready for round two, which will take place in Mumbai on January 11th and 12th, 2020. © Pet Fed Apart from all the amazing activities that were planned for two whole days, and adoption camps that were set up at the venue, we also got a chance to interact with actor/model, Dino Morea, the ambassador for the event and also one of the main investors for Pet Fed. Dino, an animal lover himself, is a proud father of two fur-babies - a labrador named Maximus and an Indie named Ganpat and he himself promotes the idea behind 'adopt don't shop', which mainly talks about not buying breed dogs when you can adopt desi dogs around you. © Pet Fed Here's what we spoke to Dino about: MensXP: What are the causes you're closely attached to and have actively worked with? Dino Morea: I've worked with a variety of causes ranging from betterment of stray animals & spreading more knowledge regarding adoption of pets through my association with Pet Fed to starting up "DM Fitness" which provides health and fitness solutions to young kids from the streets who want to come and work out on the streets itself. Apart from this, I've worked independently with various NGOs who provide education to underprivileged kids. MensXP: Do you have any pets? What's the most basic need a pet may have? DM: Yes, I'm a father to two pets at the moment. A Labrador named 'Maximus' and an Indie named 'Ganpat'. I've always had indies around me at any point of time. The most basic need of a pet is love and care, just like us humans. © Indtagram MensXP: How can a festival like Pet Fed encourage more people to adopt dogs or cats? DM: Just talking about it is not enough, you have to experience it for yourself. So I suggest visiting the next Pet Fed carnival - either Delhi, Mumbai or Bangalore. Through this, people get sensitized to knowing how loving pets are, how good they are and how they make us into better human beings. As long as adoption is concerned, festivals like Pet Fed are important as it encourages more pathways for knowledge towards indie breeds, how hearty they are & how they aren't any less than any other dog or cat breeds. MensXP: What do you feel about 'adopt don't shop'? DM: "Adopt Don't Shop" delves & tackles two important issues: 1) It discourages breeding which is an unhealthy business in itself, especially when it's done in the wrong way possible. You stop that by adopting strays. When you need a pet, you don't really need 'em to show off, you need them as a companion. Second good thing about this cause is that when you adopt, especially a stray animal, you end up with a furry companion and you also give a deserving home, love and care to an animal in need. © Pet Fed MensXP: Do you think a festival like Pet Fed should take place in every part of the country and that too frequently? DM: Yes! Every city in India needs to have a Pet Fed happening, because we have carnivals for human beings & for every liking in every small part of this country, so why not have a carnival for pets? Besides knowledge and awareness, it's also a lot of fun. Kids, people and pet lovers alike, would love to come and experience something like this. It's the most wonderful experience and according to me, every city should have it at least twice a year. After reading this I am sure either you're convinced to adopt a pet or you're going for the next Pet Fed event happening near you. Whatever it is, make sure you register for the event and give your pooches the time and effort they truly deserve. View the full article
  2. India's biggest carnival for pets, Pet Fed, just took place in Bengaluru and Delhi, and is scheduled to take place in Mumbai on 19th and 20th January. An essentially one of a kind event, Pet Fed is a gathering of pets and pet lovers spread across 3 acres of lush green land. While pet owners finally had an event exclusively dedicated to their pooches, pet lovers also got an event where they could spend some quality time with thousands of dogs, cats, and other animals. Dino Morea, who has always been surrounded by animals since his childhood and is a noted animal lover, is the ambassador for the event, and is also an investor. © Pet Fed © Pet Fed © Pet Fed Dino is a proud father of two fur-babies - a labrador named Maximus and an Indie named Ganpat. While they form an extremely important part of his personal life, he says he wants to do more. "I will never understand people who don't love animals. Their love is unconditional, and the purest form of love. Some people are just chemically imbalanced in their brain I guess. What else explains cruelty to dogs and other animals?", he says. "Not only is it an extremely healthy initiative for pets and pet-related awareness overall, it can give rise to a lot of other business verticals as well, that will generate employment and make pets more inclusive in the commercial space." © Pet Fed © Pet Fed © Pet Fed Dino says it's extremely important for events like Pet Fed to be organized in India, as they help people understand the beauty and innocence of animals. "If one attends an event like this one where they get to spend time with so many animals, they will surely get closer to animals. Yes, it's a slow process and an uphill task, but every day can be a new start. Animals are beautiful and they help us become better human beings", he asserts. © Pet Fed © Pet Fed (Yes, you can have an iguana as a pet too!) Pet Fed is scheduled to take place in Mumbai, at MMRDA, BKC, on 19th and 20th January. One can look forward to a lot of exciting things there, such as discovering dog breeds, dog fashion show, security dog show, adoption camps, and even a special cat zone. For tickets, click here
  3. Dino Morea is turning 43, and he still continues to be the reason for the collective weak knees for a large number of women in the country (let's just say worldwide, tbh). When it comes to good looking men, he has always been the forerunner - right from the '90s, and nothing has changed even after decades. He is still as fit, as fashionable, and as charming, and here are 10 pictures that prove that. 1. 4. Dino Morea was the heartthrob of every girl in the early 2000s. Almost two decades later, not much has changed. He still has the looks, the physique, and most importantly, the charm. At 42, he still has got it. He was recently spotted in a super chill floral shirt that screams summer. © Viral Bhayani Looking at him rocking that floral shirt, it struck us that florals indeed should be the thing that should be indispensable in every fashionable man's wardrobe. Even though they usually are considered to be daywear, Dino just proved us wrong. It can look fab at night too, and there is no reason you should be hesitant to wear florals at night. © Viral Bhayani What else can possibly be a more apt companion for a shirt as chill as this, except a cool pair of jeans? The relaxed pair of faded blue jeans he is wearing is just perfect for an afternoon soiree that has the potential of transforming into a full-fledged party later at night. © Viral Bhayani We approve of his choice of footwear. The black (or are they midnight blue?) espadrilles with white detailing at the soles are complementing that outfit perfectly, and they clearly are super comfortable. © Viral Bhayani All we can say is that it's supremely commendable for a 42-year-old to maintain himself well enough not to look a day older than 25, and dress the part as well. Kudos, Dino!
  5. When the first trailer of 'Jurassic Park: Fallen Kingdom' came out, we were beyond ecstatic. It took us back to our favorite (not) island of Isla Nublar where we witnessed some outrageous dinosaur action along with a lot of explosions while Owen (Chris Pratt) and Claire (Bryce Dallas Howard) went on a mission to save the dinosaurs AND mankind. If you haven't watched the first trailer yet, here you go: Basically, it was everything we wanted. But as it turns out, we can and are getting much more than what we could have imagined. A new trailer just dropped on the internet after the Super Bowl and boy, we are shook. While most of the visuals are same as that of the first trailer, we do get some exciting yet terrifying footage. © Universal Pictures There's a new dino in town. Actually, it's in people's homes and is out to terrify and eat up children. What did children ever do to these filmmakers, we'd never understand. © Universal Pictures A dinosaur inside your bedroom is essentially everyone's childhood nightmare coming alive. And seeing it on celluloid doesn't exactly make us feel any less scared. We also get a closer look at the conspiracy that is threatening mankind as we see the lead characters hiding above a packed room where a new beast is being unveiled. © Universal Pictures And of course, Owen eventually comes in contact with this new creature, leaving us on the edge our seats. © Universal Pictures All in all, the new trailer amps up the thrill and scares, beyond our expectations. Although we didn't need more reasons to watch the movie, this just does the trick of getting people hooked. Watch the second trailer: The film is slated for a June 22 release this year.
  6. Remember Dino Morea? The pretty guy who appeared in a lot of 90's music videos? The erstwhile heartthrob of teenage girls who are now in their 30's? Bipasha's ex-ex? We know you remember him, so don't pretend. Yes, we too thought that he had vanished off the face of the Earth, until he was just spotted with Varun Dhawan outside a gym. © Viral Bhayani We, like you, honestly don't remember when was the last time we saw him in a movie. But we are not focusing on that now. We are focusing on the fact that after all this time, he still looks like a supermodel. Well, let's not forget that he was one. But that was ages ago and he is 42 now. 42, people. But just look at him! © Viral Bhayani The sight of Dino and Varun together are giving us major bro-feels. Varun is the younger, aggressive one (totally justifying it in the douche-tank) while Dino is the older, mature, sophisticated one who doesn't need to show off his gains. And not because his body is not as good (Bipasha, as a rule, doesn't date anyone whose abs can't be used as an abacus, remember?). It's just that he's at that age where he has calmed down a bit because he has been there and done that. © Viral Bhayani Coming to his look, we must say we are impressed. You know how some people just get better with age? The still lean and mean physique and that salt-and-pepper stubble - he has got it down in the looks department. In fact, we feel he has never looked better. Anil Kapoor would be proud. © Viral Bhayani The white Adidas jacket paired with the grey shorts is doing wonders for the look Dino is sporting. Simple but flattering nonetheless. We like how he has chosen to wear a black and white baseball cap that complements his jacket. The orange Nike flat-soled trainers add a perfect little splash of colour to his gym outfit. © Viral Bhayani One thing we could not help but notice is his choice of transport. Not a car, nope. He rides a bike. Does it get any more badass than this? We love a celeb who is as grounded. We wonder why he is not making more appearances. People would surely like to see more of him. Are you listening, Dino?
  7. Dinosaurs, the most fearsome creatures ever to walk the Earth, were bugged already 100 million years ago by a paltry pest that still plagues animals today: the bloodsucking tick, scientists have discovered. PARIS: Dinosaurs, the most fearsome creatures ever to walk the Earth, were bugged already 100 million years ago by a paltry pest that still plagues animals today: the bloodsucking tick, scientists have discovered. Preserved for eternity in amber, fossilised tree resin, researchers have found a hard tick ? uncannily similar to those we know ? clinging to a 99-million-year-old dinosaur feather, a team wrote in the journal Nature Communications this week. "The discovery is remarkable because fossils of parasitic, blood-feeding creatures directly associated with remains of their host are exceedingly scarce, and the new specimen is the oldest known to date," they said in a statement. The well-preserved, juvenile insect was less than a millimetre in size, had eight legs, but no eyes. One of its legs was entangled in the barb of a "pennaceous" feather ? those with a central quill as sported by some dinosaurs and their modern offspring: birds. The team could not identify which type of dinosaur the feather had belonged to, but dated it to the Cretaceous period some 145 million to 66 million years ago. "So although we can?t be sure what kind of dinosaur the tick was feeding on, the mid-Cretaceous age of the Burmese amber confirms that the feather certainly did not belong to a modern bird, as these appeared much later in... evolution," said study co-author Ricardo Perez-de la Fuente of the Oxford University Museum of Natural History. The fossilised tick provides the first evidence of an early parasitic relationship between ticks and dinos, the team said. And they found further evidence, though less direct, with the discovery of two specimens of a different tick ? which they named after the fictitious bloodsucker Count Dracula ? also locked up in amber. These ticks had remains of skin beetle larvae stuck to them. Skin beetles feed in nests, consuming feathers, skin, and hair. Is it a bird? "And as no mammal hairs have yet been found in Cretaceous amber," the ticks? host was likely to have been a feathered dinosaur, said the team. The pair of ticks were named Deinocroton draculi from the Greek for "terrible" (deinos) and "tick" (kroton), followed by a nod to Bram Stoker?s famous vampire. "Together, these findings provide direct and indirect evidence that ticks have been parasitising and sucking blood from dinosaurs within the evolutionary lineage leading to modern birds for almost 100 million years," the researchers said. "While the birds were the only lineage of theropod dinosaurs to survive the mass extinction at the end of the Cretaceous 66 million years ago, the ticks did not just cling on for survival, they continued to thrive." Ticks feed off the blood of animals, sometimes transmitting ailments such as Lyme disease, typhus, or tick fever. The team said whatever remained of the blood the ticks had sucked, would not have preserved any dinosaur DNA.
