  1. On days when the nation's bravehearts are not risking their lives to protect us, they are still saving lives with their selfless acts and heartwarming gestures. Constable Gohil Shailesh from the 53 Battalion of CRPF (Central Reserve Police Force) is one such braveheart who has now become the nation's hero too, after a photo of him donating blood to a young woman was posted on social media. Pexels (For Representation) Constable Shailesh not only saved the woman's life, but also saved the life of her newborn child. According to the post, the 25-year-old pregnant woman from Kashmir developed some severe complications (and blood loss) during her delivery and was in an urgent need of blood. Reportedly, the woman's family contacted CRPF 'Madadgaar', a helpline that addresses the medical emergencies of people living in Kashmir. The relation of blood. 2. From coming to the rescue of a financially struggling acid attack survivor to starting the initiative 'Bharat Ke Veer' along with the Government of India, Akshay Kumar is a hero in real life too, who has never backed down from going that extra mile for the society, and the bravehearts and their families. © Instagram Now, Akshay Kumar has donated Rs. 15 lakh to Sundari Devi, wife of Jeet Ram Gurjar. Gurjar was one of the CRPF jawans martyred in the Pulwama terror attack on 14th February. CRPF (Central Reserve Police Force) DIG Jagdish Narayan Meena revealed the news of his donation. Jeet Ram Gurjar hailed from a village in Bharatpur and was the sole earning member in his family. His younger brother, Vikram Singh, thanked Kumar for his gesture at a time when they needed it the most, as they are financially very weak. He further mentioned that his parents along with Gurjar's wife and two daughters were also dependent on him. Reportedly, the amount was transferred under 'Bharat Ke Veer'. In this initiative, one can help the families financially, by donating either using the app or the website bharatkeveer.gov.in. Earlier, it was reported that Akshay has vowed to donate Rs. 5 crore to the families of Pulwama martyrs, via 'Bharat Ke Veer'. He urged his fans to also step forward and help, and wrote on social media that "Pulwama is something we cannot forget and will not forget." #Pulwama is something we cannot & will not forget. We're all angry & it's time to act. 3. Since the devastating Kerala floods, the Pulwama attack in Jammu & Kashmir exactly a week ago has been the second incident of national importance that has managed to bring the entire country together. Regardless of one's class, creed or gender, people from all walks of life have come together to honour the martyrs and stand in support of their families. However, some people truly deserve a special mention during such a time for their selfless actions. An elderly woman beggar who breathed her last in 2018 happens to be one such individual who made a notable monetary contribution to the funds being collected for the Pulwama martyrs' families. © Twitter The late beggar named Nandini Sharma had collected a sum amounting to 6.61 lakh rupees over the years, which was a result of her regular cash deposits at the bank. Nandini had nominated two trustees to safeguard her account upon her death, and left behind a will stating that her savings be used for the society's welfare, according to a TOI report . Nandini used to beg outside the Ambe Mata Temple at Bajrangarh in Ajmer, and made it a habit to deposit a little sum every other day. The trustees who had been waiting for a good time to put Nandini's savings to good use since her death in August last year, decided to donate it for the welfare of the Pulwama martyrs' families. © Reuters Ajmer collector Vishwa Mohan Sharma told TOI, “the trustees came to the district administration office on Wednesday and expressed their desire to donate money to the chief minister relief fund for the attack victims. The legal cell completed the formalities following which, the amount was accepted and a certificate was issued to them.” One of Nandini's trustees, Sandeep Gaur told TOI that, “despite the fact that her savings came from begging, she wanted it to be of some use to the country and hence, we considered it best to be used for the kin of the CRPF jawans killed in the Pulwama attack.” © Twitter Regulars at the Ambe Mata Temple were so moved by the news of Nandini's goodwill that they have been holding special prayers for Nandini's soul. Even when she didn't have much, she saved for the welfare of others, and today her savings have been put to best use just as she had desired. We hope Nandini rests in peace, knowing her last wish has been fulfilled.
  4. Even on days when our brave jawans are not risking their lives to protect us, they are still saving lives with their selfless and heartwarming gestures. This incident about a CRPF jawan is from one of those days. Constable Rajkamal, from the 133 Battalion of CRPF (Central Reserve Police Force), is the nation's hero just like every other soldier who puts his life on the line to ensure our safety. But, now he's become the internet's hero as well, after a photo of him donating blood for an injured naxal was posted online. Reuters Reportedly, the Naxal was injured in Jharkhand recently, during an exchange of fire with troops of 209 Commando Battalion for Resolute Action (CoBRA). Post the shootout, the man was immediately rushed to Ranchi's Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences hospital, where the doctors said that the patient needed blood. So, Constable Rajkamal readily agreed to donate his blood. Why? Because he "considered his duty to help a fellow Indian in need." Rajkamal told The Pioneer, "I did what I had to on humanitarian grounds. We have had many clashes in the past, but that doesn't mean that I will have a personal grudge against them. They are our fellow Indians after all." EPITOME OF BENEVOLENCE: CT Rajkamal of CRPF donated blood to save the life of a Naxal who suffered grievous injuries during the encounter which took place when the Naxals attacked a team of 209 CoBRA. Rajkamal said that he considered his duty to help a fellow Indian in need. pic.twitter.com/VNnIi8Qpub — ð®ð³CRPFð®ð³ (@crpfindia) February 5, 2019 We salute Constable Rajkamal and his spirit. If people start thinking the way he does, the world can become a better place to live in. Like the tweet reads, it is indeed an 'Epitome of Benevolence." People on Twitter can't stop showering praises for CT Rajkamal. Unparallel example of high human values https://t.co/x0eR4i2osI — Salil dudi (@DudiSalil) February 6, 2019 This is unheard ever and unprecedented. Kudos to the fellow brave heart for this noble gesture. This is what @crpfindia 's motto is service and loyalty in true sense. Bravery with humanity. https://t.co/6LuAvxaRad — Avinash Aggarwal (@avinash_the_cop) February 6, 2019 Donating blood for an injured Naxal by CT RajKamal is an outstanding example shown by this gallant Force. 5. 'Simmba' enjoyed massive success and a magical run at the box office. Rohit Shetty knows exactly what to sell to his action fans and he does it quite well. The classic recipe which he began with Singham, played extremely well by Ajay Devgn, was carried forward as a sort of legacy by none other than Ranveer Singh himself, who like always, nailed the role of a cop in this one. View this post on Instagram RELEASING TOMORROW ! ð¦ðªð¾ #SIMMBA A post shared by Ranveer Singh (@ranveersingh) on Dec 26, 2018 at 10:10pm PST The movie crossed the 100-crore mark within a few days of its release and this gigantic success inspired director Rohit Shetty do so something thoughtful. At the recently concluded festival 'Umang Awards', Rohit Shetty pledged and donated 51 lakhs from the profit made by his movie. He presented the cheque with actors Ajay Devgn, Ranveer Singh and Akshay Kumar to the commissioner of Police. © Twitter 'Simmba' follows the story of a Marathi cop Sanghram Bhalerao who falls in the claws of corruption but eventually turns his good cop side on after an epiphany. Rohit is now all set to direct another action drama called 'Sooryavanshi' with none other than Khiladi Kumar himself, who made a cameo in 'Simmba' as well. Recently, the makers of Vicky Kaushal starrer 'Uri' pledged 1 crore towards the fund for Army widows on Army Day as well. It is good to see when Bollywood extends help and gives back to the country in a generous way.
  6. Last week, we all witnessed a harrowing incident where the plane of the Argentine footballer, Emiliano Sala disappeared from the radar over the English channel. After the police called off the rescue operation, now comes the ray of hope as a private search has been initiated to find the missing footballer. Sala had made his dream come true, of playing in the Premier League, as he made a move to Cardiff City from Nantes just a day before the incident took place. Days after the authorities called off the search for the Argentine, David Mearns led a private search for the missing plane and affirmed that there is a “very good chance” of finding the aircraft. © Reuters Approximately Rs 2.5 crores($3,40,000) have been raised till now, including a number of Rs 24 lakh ($34,000) by the French World Cup star Kylian Mbappe, to a crowdfunding campaign aimed at funding a private search mission for the missing aircraft. Along with him, many famous footballers like Adrien Rabiot (PSG) and Marseille's Dmitri Payet have also donated sizeable amounts to support the initiative. Talking of David Mearns, he is an American-born marine scientist and shipwreck-hunting specialist and confirmed that a survey vessel, equipped with state-of-the-art search equipment has been mobilized and will conduct an underwater search for the plane this weekend. © Reuters Though there's no guarantee of them to be found, Sala's family is determined to do everything they possibly can through the support they have in the football community and through family and friends. Many stars involving Lionel Messi and Diego Maradona have raised their concern over the continuation of the Argentines Aircraft. On 20th February, 28-year-old Emiliano Sala arrived in Cardiff to sign a deal for a club record fee which is not disclosed but is suspected to be around 15 Million Euros. Later he went back to Nantes, to bid farewell to his former teammates, and was on his way to Cardiff when the incident occurred, where the pilot David Ibbotson lost contact with Jersey air traffic control as it made its way over the English Channel. With private funding and underwater search in progress, let's hope Cardiff City finds their beloved new signing.
  7. Just like the rest of the world, Apple donated Rs 7 crore towards the relief work in Kerala. Apple fulfilled its duty of humanitarian efforts by adding support banners to its homepage and by adding a donation button on the iTunes Store and App Store. The new donation button enabled Apple and its users to donate a total sum of Rs 7 crore to the Mercy Corps. © Twitter "We're heartbroken by the catastrophic flooding in Kerala. Apple is donating Rs 7 crore to support the life-saving work Mercy Corps India and the Chief Minister's Distress Relief Fund are undertaking to support survivors, help those who have been displaced and rebuild homes and schools," the Cupertino-based iPhone maker said in a statement. © BCCL "We have also activated a donation button on iTunes and the App Store so customers who wish to donate to Mercy Corps' efforts can do so easily," Apple said. Indian tech companies such as Zomato, Paytm and many others followed a similar method to enable people to help with the relief efforts. The Kerala floods resulted in costing 417 lives and the floods have left at least 8.7 lakh people homeless. This is not the first time Apple has made a donation towards natural disaster relief efforts and we can expect more to pour in with further contributions. © Reuters If you would like to donate to the Mercy Corps easily via Apple, you can do so by clicking here
  8. The entire world is coming together to help the flood situation in Kerala which is a dark period for the state after many people were dislocated, lost their lives and even their homes in the floods. © Twitter The donations from various areas, countries, agencies and aids have been pouring in from all ends. While our B-town celebs have donated money and tried raising awareness from their end, Sushant Singh Rajput is probably the only actor who is a legit real life hero with a heart of gold. Sushant donated Rs 1 crore towards the Kerala relief fund on behalf of a fan. As promised my friend, @subhamranjan66 , what you wanted to do has been done. You made me do this, so be extremely proud of yourself. You delivered exactly when it was needed. Lots and lots of love. We have massive respect for the actor and let's hope more people, who are capable and have the capacity to contribute, do their bit with all that they can.
  9. The devastation left in the wake of the deadly Kerala floods is unprecedented, but people across the nation and the world are coming together, proving that humanity has the power to overcome calamities. From relentless rescue missions to donations in cash and kind, aid is pouring in and our nation has joined hands in this battle of saving lives and providing relief to crores of people. Now, the Gulf nations have also extended their help and are doing their bit by announcing their contribution for the flood-hit state. The Ruler of Dubai and the Vice President of the UAE, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum tweeted and urged people in the UAE to contribute towards the relief. 10. 'God's Own Country', Kerala is currently battling the worst flood in 100 years. The death toll has climbed to over 300 and is on a constant rise. More than 3 lakh people have been shifted to relief camps and rescue missions are on to save thousands of people from this disaster; Kerala needs our help as the situation continues to worsen with each passing day. Reuters Like a silver lining in the dark clouds, in this worsening situation, people from across the country are coming forward to support and help Kerala in every possible way. And cricketer Sanju Samson also lend a helping hand by donating Rs. 15 lakh to the Kerala Chief Minister's Relief Fund. In fact, he further urged his fans to support the Kerala flood victims. Reportedly, Samson's father Samson Vishwanadh and brother Saly Samson met CM Pinarayi Vijayan and handed over the cheque to him. Instagram Samson, in an interview with Khaleej Times, said he is not doing this for publicity, "This is not for publicity. I do charity without letting the world know. Now, it's the time to raise some awareness on the importance of making a donation to the flood relief fund and people like me have to do it and let the public know. I think my action will prompt several other people to come forward and support the flood-hit people." And he did exactly that with this Facebook post. While people are appreciating and supporting Sanju Samson for helping the Kerala flood victims, they are also criticising India's youngest billionaire, Vijay Shekhar Sharma, for donating a small sum of Rs. 10,000 to the flood victims. Social media was not ready to let this pass just like that and bombarded Sharma with these tweets.
