  1. If you wanted the OnePlus Watch to hold its own against the Apple Watch, then this review isn’t for you. The OnePlus Watch might be just another wearable accessory for your Android smartphone that gets the job done. Whether you want it to track exercises, SpO2, steps and manage notifications, the OnePlus Watch can do that. However, the experience on the OnePlus Watch is not the best at the moment especially since there are plenty of cheaper alternatives available. Here’s what I think about the OnePlus Watch and my experience with the latest wearable: DesignThe OnePlus Watch is designed with the Galaxy Watch Active 2 in mind, at least that's what I have gathered. It has a round face that doesn’t have any unique attributes and has rubber straps stuck on either end. There are two buttons on the right and a touchscreen AMOLED display. The 46-mm smartwatch does have a stainless steel case which gives off a more premium feel than its competition. © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla While the display is quite large for navigation and browsing menus, it does not have an always-on display which makes the experience a bit annoying. You will end up flicking your wrist each time you want to check the time or any of the notifications you receive throughout the day. The OnePlus Watch is fairly light and does not feel heavy on the wrist. Overall, it looks like a premium smartwatch from afar. © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla If you feel like customising the OnePlus Watch, you have 50 watch face options to choose from and possibly more in the future. Some watch faces are quite detailed and show relevant information while others are quite basic for users who just want to manage notifications and look at the time. Having said that, the watch faces don’t give off that premium vibe when compared to the Apple Watch or any of the Galaxy Watches. © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla The OnePlus Watch is also rated for water resistance up to 164 feet which means you can use the smartwatch while swimming too. Features and Experience The OnePlus Watch comes with a plethora of features that you would expect from a smartwatch. You can track many exercises, track heart rate, measure SpO2, analyse sleep and stress level. The OnePlus Watch also has its respiration app that has copied animations from Apple’s ‘Breathe app’. Most features work out of the box as advertised, however in our experience, tracking heart rate can be a bit tedious. So far, all the features that I’ve mentioned can also be found in a budget-friendly fitness tracker. © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla The OnePlus Watch can be used for managing notifications, responding to texts or emails and answering phone calls. The notification system on the OnePlus Watch is quite straightforward and it does not have any delay when viewing them. However, there are other problems such as syncing notifications between the watch and phone. For example, even after I cleared a notification on the smartphone, the same notification would persist on the OnePlus Watch. It gives off a very unconnected experience that you don’t expect from a smartwatch. The OnePlus Watch is marketed as an advanced smartwatch for OnePlus users but that couldn’t be further from the truth. For starters, at launch the smartwatch only tracks 12-13 workout modes. The SpO2 reading from the smartwatch is not accurate when comparing results with the Apple Watch and an Oximeter. The OnePlus Watch also lets you control music but it does not have support for apps like Spotify which can be cumbersome to use. While working out, playback controls on the smartwatch is a basic feature that even budget alternatives offer. Since there is no support for Spotify, you will have to manually transfer music to the OnePlus Watch’s memory which is very inconvenient. © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla When it comes to the overall experience on the OnePlus Watch, the software does not feel as intuitive or smooth as other smartwatches we’ve used in the past. Navigating the main menu is a cumbersome task that doesn’t look pleasing to the eye. Even the OnePlus health app is quite basic and doesn’t always relay data from the smartwatch. For example, the app fails to display some manual SpO2 readings. Other details such as heart rate data during workout sessions are missing and it does not sync data with the Google Fitness app either. The OnePlus Health app requires a major overhaul if it wants to compete with the big guys as it does not offer a satisfactory experience at the moment. Battery Life © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla The OnePlus Watch offers incredible battery life and can last tup 14 days on a single charge. Of course, that number goes down if you use features such as GPS tracking and Bluetooth music playback. In my experience, the OnePlus Watch lasts longer than advertised and can get a week’s worth of power in about 20 minutes. The OnePlus Watch charges extremely fast, similar to its smartphones which comes in handy when you are in a hurry. The Final Say The OnePus Watch is not the perfect smartwatch as the company makes it out to be. It is often held back by its software and the companion health app which reduces it to just another fitness tracker. The OnePlus Watch for what it's worth faces tough competition from cheaper alternatives that offer the same features and a better experience for less. The OnePlus Watch retails for Rs 14,999 which is hard to justify when you can get a cheaper alternative from Amazfit that offers more robust features. View the full article
  2. People love Anushka Sharma and she is one of the most admired celebrities in the industry. She is loved for being herself and also for her opinions. However, in 2014 her pout that was noticed by the audience put her under tremendous scrutiny. Fans first noticed her lip job when she appeared on filmmaker Karan Johar’s chat show, Koffee With Karan. She was trolled badly for her enhanced lip. In 2016, in an interview with Vogue magazine, she accepted that she had gotten a lip job done. She said, "I have nothing to hide. So when I spoke about my lip job, a lot of people called me brave for coming out. But I did what I had to for my role in Bombay Velvet. I’m not going to lie and say I didn’t; I had to take ownership. I wanted fans to know that I’m human and not perfect.” However, in the year 2014, she had said that she was using a temporary lip enhancing tool. View this post on Instagram Thankfully, that's a thing of the past now. Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli are a power couple in a true sense today and the couple also has a huge fan following as they bring the two biggest worlds together- Cricket and Bollywood. They first met through a shampoo brand commercial in the year 2013 and now they are married and just had a beautiful daughter. They are also one of the richest Indian celebrity couples at the moment and their net worth combined has crossed the mark of a total of Rs 1200 crores as of January 2020. View the full article
  3. Smartphone companies have done some great things to bring the industry forward but plenty have also done some shady things. While we might like to forget some of the dreadful things done in the past, we can’t ignore them, especially if history repeats itself. From controversial decisions to false marketing; here are five of the worst things smartphone companies have done in the past. 1. False Marketing © Huawei_Reddit Many smartphone companies have tried to pass off false marketing as the real deal for an upcoming product which was soon caught by people keeping a close watch. It all started with the Nokia Lumia 920 where one could see a video being shot by a DSLR. The video used for advertising the smartphone highlighted the smartphone’s OIS capabilities however soon enough people could spot a person in reflection using a DSLR instead. Similarly, Huawei was also caught faking DSLR shots for its Nova 3 smartphone commercial. In the commercial, a couple is taking selfie shots however additional behind the scenes images surfaced online showing how the company faked the images claiming it was shot on the Nova 3. Huawei was caught for a second time when it presented a stock image of a volcano erupting as if it was captured using the P30 Pro’s camera. 2. Inserting Ads in Smartphones © MensXP Xiaomi is the number one culprit here for serving its customers ads on the Redmi Note series of smartphones. These ads are so intrusive that many opt to flash the phone and install a different OS ROM to get around the problem. Ads in personal devices are quite intrusive, especially since most of the free apps on the smartphone are already plagued with ads. It ruins the overall experience and is one of the worst things a smartphone company can do. Other companies like Realme, Samsung and others have also started to advertise on their smartphones treating personal devices as some sort of a digital billboard. 3. Removing The Headphone Jack © Youtube_UnboxTherapy While we may not complain about it today, removing the headphone hack on the iPhone 7 was quite controversial a few years ago. Apple's reasoning was a vague declaration of its 'courage' for innovation in the smartphone space however not many people were happy about it. While it may have worked out for the company in the long run, it was widely considered as one of the worst things done by a smartphone company in recent memory. Today, almost every flagship smartphone comes with a headphone jack in favour of better water resistance and wireless audio tech. 4. Cheating Benchmarks © Realme Just last week, Realme was caught manipulating Antutu benchmark scores for the ‘Realme GT’ which led to the smartphone being banned on the platform for the next three months. Sadly, Realme is not the only culprit here since other companies such as OnePlus, Huawei, Honor, OPPO, Samsung and others have also been accused of manipulating benchmark scores in the past. Some companies even block benchmark apps on newly launched smartphones so that reviewers cannot run tests as it would reflect badly in review scores. 5. Heavy Discounting After Launch The one thing every Indian Android users knows is that smartphones often get heavily discounted soon after launch. Samsung is known for doing that with its flagship Galaxy smartphones and it often leaves a bad taste in the mouth of customers who purchased the smartphone on launch day. Android smartphones are known for losing value twice as fast as iPhones and there’s nothing you can do about it. However, we do advise waiting whenever a new Android device launches as it will probably get a heavy discount a few months later. View the full article
  4. A new day, and a new controversy. But what's not new? The involvement of a certain Kangana Ranaut in it. This time, she jumped on the viral #RippedJeansTwitter trend, however, not in the way one would have expected. Posting a series of pictures of herself in ripped jeans, the actress took to Twitter to say that people should only wear ripped jeans if they have the ‘coolness quotient' similar to hers. Taking a dig at people wearing ripped jeans, she wrote, “If you want to wear ripped jeans make sure coolness quotient is of this magnitude as in these pics, so that it looks like your style not your state a homeless beggar who hasn’t got allowance from parents this month, most young people look like that these days #RippedJeansTwitter.” If you want to wear ripped jeans make sure coolness quotient is of this magnitude as in these pics, so that it looks like your style not your state a homeless beggar who hasn’t got allowance from parents this month, most young people look like that these days #RippedJeansTwitter pic.twitter.com/hc14cLxQDE — Kangana Ranaut (@KanganaTeam) March 18, 2021 Here’s what people have to say about Kangana Ranaut’s recent post about people wearing ripped jeans: Wastage of clothes ;) — UjjwalPantWords (@honestwordonly) March 18, — Pearl Ivory (@PearlIvory3) March 18, 2021हमारा कुत्ता कुत्ता, तुम्हारा कुत्ता टॉमी — Navedkwt (@navedkwt) March 18, 2021For the unversed, what set the ball rolling was a tasteless comment by Uttarakhand Chief Minister Tirath Singh Rawat on women wearing ripped jeans. He said, “If this kind of woman goes out in the society to meet people and solve their problems, what kind of message are we giving out to society, to our kids? It all starts at home. What we do, our kids follow. A child who is taught the right culture at home, no matter how modern he becomes, will never fail in life.” क्या संस्कार दोगे?: उत्तराखंड CM तीरथ सिंह रावत pic.twitter.com/sGri6pPH7K — ANI_HindiNews (@AHindinews) March 17, 2021 Also, just after his comments, #RippedJeansTwitter started trending on Twitter along with women sharing their pictures in ripped jeans. 5. The world has changed ever since the COVID-19 lockdown and so has the demand for laptops that enables people to work from home or attend online classes. Whether you are a student or a professional, Microsoft seems to have come out with the perfect laptop that facilitates all of your needs with its lightweight Surface Laptop Go. Microsoft is usually known for making premium consumer products such as the other Surface laptops, but this time around the company has made something for everyone. I’ve been using the Surface Laptop Go for about three weeks for everything including attending calls, writing this review and editing images. Here’s how my experience with the Surface Laptop Go has been: Design and Display © MensXP_Akshay Bhalla The Surface Laptop Go looks like a premium laptop that uses the same design ethos as some of the products from the lineup. However, instead of using premium build materials like Aluminium, the laptop has a plastic chassis that doesn’t feel cheap to the touch. In fact, it is the highest grade of plastic used on the laptop which puts most budget laptops to shame. The Surface Laptop Go comes with a very bright and sharp 12.4-inch display which has a resolution of 1536 x 1024 pixel. The screen does have a smaller 3:2 aspect ratio which is ideal for people who have to read a lot of documents and web pages as part of their daily routine. The screen also supports touch input which adds an additional layer in terms of interaction with certain applications. © MensXP_Akshay Bhalla While the display is quite vivid and bright, the screen does have some thick bezels which may not be ideal for watching movies and TV shows, if you are fussy about that. I personally didn’t like the thicker bezels to be honest as it didn’t really bother me while watching videos on the laptop. Coming back to the design, since the Surface Laptop Go is more of a budget offering by Microsoft, there is no keyboard backlighting which was slightly problematic. I understand it was done to keep the cost in check, however during the work from home situation, many people tend to work in the evenings and sometimes late at night. If your work involves a lot of typing like mine, it can get a bit difficult to work since you can’t see which key you are typing on. If you are an experienced typer like me, it will take some time to get used to the key travel and then maybe you can type without looking at the keyboard. However, for people who need that backlighting, this is one caveat you simply cannot ignore. © MensXP_Akshay Bhalla Having said that, the typing experience is extremely comfortable where the keys feel snappy and highly superior to some of the recent MacBook devices. The trackpad also has great responsiveness, however I would have liked the surface to be a bit smoother. You can get around that by increasing the trackpad sensitivity but since it is made out of plastic, you can’t really expect it to have the same feel as the aluminium Surface laptops. The laptop also weighs just 1.11 kg which is extremely light for all types of users. You can easily carry the laptop in one hand while you are moving. © MensXP_Akshay Bhalla In terms of ports, Microsoft has opted to offer everything you need, albeit its quite limited. Due to the small size of the laptop, there’s one USB-C port, a USB-A port, a 3.5 mm headphone jack, and a Surface Connect port. If you are just using the laptop for work and online classes, these ports are more than enough to connect accessories, however I would have still liked to see an additional USB-C Port. The laptop also has a 720p webcam on top of the screen and a fingerprint sensor embedded into the power button. You can use the fingerprint sensor to seamlessly log in to the laptop which is much faster than typing in your password each time. Overall, I really liked the design of the Surface Laptop Go as it doesn’t look cheap and has everything you need for daily workflows. Sure, there could have been backlighting and more ports, but that’s just me nitpicking right now. Performance and Features The Microsoft Surface Laptop Go comes with a 10th-gen Intel Core i5-1035G1 processor, 8GB/16GB of RAM, and 128/256GB of SSD storage. I have been using the 8GB model for a while and considering the price of the laptop, I wasn’t disappointed one bit. For daily needs such as typing documents, watching movies, streaming music and editing large images, the Surface Laptop Go was a dream to use. There was no form of stutter that I came across and it handled everything I threw at it with ease. However, with multiple browser tabs, photoshop and a few documents open, I did notice the laptop getting a bit warm from the underside which was kind of expected. © MensXP_Akshay Bhalla If you are wondering about gaming and video editing, the Surface Laptop Go cannot handle any of these demanding tasks as it was never specifically meant for that. You can also upgrade your RAM and storage in case you ever need to, which is a nice option to have. Due to the size and weight of the laptop, there isn’t a big battery on this laptop to make it last longer than the industry standard. While during my normal work days, which involved music running in the background, editing images and typing out stories, the laptop lasted for about 6-7 hours on a single charge. When attending video calls, the battery life drops a little and lasts about 5-6 hours on a single charge. Overall, the battery life on the Surface Laptop Go is decent enough for professionals and students alike. If you are looking for something more powerful, then I recommend having a look at Apple’s M1 Macbook. © MensXP_Akshay Bhalla Finally, for people wondering about benchmark scores, the Surface Laptop scored 1,185 (Single-Core) and Multi-Core (3,390) on Geekbench 5, and 3,410 on PC Mark. For SSD speeds, the 256GB SSD on our review unit had a read speed of 2,007 MB/s and a write speed of 791 MB/s on CrystalDiskMark. All of the benchmarks indicate that this laptop outshines the previous Surface Go and Go 2 laptops by a mile. The Final Say The Microsoft Surface Laptop Go is the perfect companion device for professionals or students that need to get all the basic tasks done. Whether you need to do basic image editing, attend video conferences or watch content, the Surface Laptop Go covers it all. The build quality, display and typing experience on the laptop is superior to most laptops in the same price category. If you are looking to purchase a reliable laptop for your daily tasks, the Surface Laptop Go fits the bill perfectly. View the full article
  6. Tom Holland rose to global fame when he was cast by the Russo brothers as Peter Parker/Spider-Man in the 2016 superhero movie ?Captain America: Civil War"
  7. The title is pretty evident and if you clicked while crooning to Brown Munde just like I am playing it in the background as I type this, then here are 10 recommendations that might have missed your radar and are perfect for that evening ‘gedi’ with yaar dost: 1. Excuses AP Dhillon is that new dude on the block who is making waves across the globe with his ‘desi’ hit Brown Munde. His new release Excuses is about a dude explaining a girl how heartbreak will feel like once she experiences it. While he’s as it, he’s ensured there’s some dope music added to the lyrics which is perfect for a long drive. 2. Riri Trust Diljt to win hearts like his name, literally. The Punjabi king, who has taken the nation by storm by extending his support to the farmers' protest and has taken upon him the responsibility to impart moral lessons to a certain Bollywood actress, has come up with another track for international pop queen, Rihanaa. Only Diljit can talk about buying Punjabi ‘jutti’ and ‘salwar kameez’ for miss Fenty, and make a chartbuster out of it. 3. Hukam Karan Aujla is back with another musical banger which has touched over 18 million views in less than 4 days. The music video is also pretty cool, like all his musical outings. 4. Mexico Koka Another Aujla track on our list which is not as fresh as baked bread from last night, but then a little more Karan Aujla hurt no one. This one has a different vibe and a feel to it. 5. Dooja Pyaar The magical voice behind everyone’s favourite Khwaab, Akhil is back with another song laced with emotions. This one is about second love and the whole nuances around the experience. 6. Titliaan Warga This one is here only because it must be on our Punjabi list for the beginning of the year. Last year’s crazy hit’s sequel sung by Hardy Sandhu and penned by the prodigal Jaani is still ruling all charts and playlists. 7. Kadi Te Hans I guess if a legend like Atif Aslam even records his musical breathing, it will end up on our lists permanently. So when he took a classic number and gave it a twist of his own, it obviously had to go viral and also find a top spot on our ‘gedi’ list. 8. Pagal Nahi Hona The Mummy Nu Pasand singer, the gorgeous Sunanda Sharma’s new song starring Sonu Sood is a nice background score for some evening ‘car-o-baar’ outing. 9. Possessive Every once in a while, a song releases about the girlfriend either being possessive or demanding a ‘lehenga’. No idea why the writers are so obsessed with these demanding songs but this one has the melodious voice of Raashi Sood which is soothing. 10. Just A Dream This one is a great addition to your list in case you still haven’t managed to listen to this one. Sung by Prem Dhillon, this is stamped by Sidhu Moosewala himself . 9. It seems like Apple is not done with 2020 yet as the company may have a new product to launch next week. In an internal memo acquired by MacRumors , Apple has informed its service providers that the company has AppleCare-related changes planned for Tuesday, December 8th. The memo advises technicians to prepare for new product SKUs, new/updated product descriptions, and new/updated product pricing, according to the memo. © Macrumors While this memo may not seem much, the Cupertino giant has released similar memos in the past right before the launch of iPhones. Shortly after the iPhone 12 announcement, Apple issued the same advisory to technicians to prepare for the same AppleCare changes on October 13th at 10:00 AM PT. This was the same day and time when the iPhone 12 launch event began and if we take any cues from it, Apple is planning something yet again. Having said that, it seems unlikely that Apple will be hosting another full-blown event, however, we can expect a new product announcement via a press release on 8th December (next Tuesday). Apple has launched products in the past via simple press releases such as the 13-inch MacBook Pro in May 2020, the 16-inch MacBook Pro in November 2019, and second-generation AirPods in March 2019. © Macrumors Information of a new product launch by Apple in December was also leaked by Twitter user “L0vetodream" where the account said there will be a “Christmas surprise from Apple.” It remains unclear as to what Apple will be announcing in the coming week, however, there has been speculation of accessories yet to be launched. It has been long rumoured for Apple to announce AirTags, AirPods Studio and a brand new Apple TV that could come with a game controller. © Apple All we can say is that the new AppleCare changes memo is indicative of a new launch by Apple next week. We could be looking at new hardware, however, it is possible that the announcement could be related to a minor accessory as well. We will know more on Tuesday 8th December whether Apple announces a new product or not. Source: Macrumors View the full article

  11. Apple is already done with two events this year and we got new iPads and new iPhones for the year. But it looks like the company is not done yet and we have 'One More Thing', as Apple likes to say. In fact, that's what the event is called too. So this new event will take place on November 10 and we're expecting to see the company's first ARM-based Macs that run on Apple Silicon chips instead of the Intel processors. This is a big step for Apple because they've been issuing laptops running Intel chips since 2005. Yet another #AppleEvent coming up. #OneMoreThing pic.twitter.com/HWzFs8YdWy — Akshay Bhalla (@Bhallanator) November 2, 2020 The event invite itself doesn't say anything about the launch. The last time Apple used this phrase was back in 2017 during the launch of the iPhone X. Apple first announced its plan to switch over from Intel processors to its own Silicon CPUs back in June at WWDC. They did promise the first laptop running these new CPUs will be out this year, and here we are. Apple says it can get better performance with lower power consumption with the help of its own chip. © Reuters At first, we're only expecting to see a MacBook or two. But eventually, we're expecting Apple to switch the entirety of its line up to its ARM-based chips. As for the event itself, we think we'll also see the launch of macOS 11 Big Sur. It'll be interesting to see what Apple brings to the table, so let's hope for the best. View the full article
  12. The match between Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals has to be one of the most boring matches this season, especially when it was preceded by the brilliant double Super Over clash between Kings XI Punjab and Mumbai Indians. CSK managed to score 125 runs which is the lowest first innings total this season and the Royals were able to easily chase it down with two and a half overs to spare. Jos Buttler, who smashed an unbeaten 70 off 48 deliveries received ‘Man of the Match’. View this post on InstagramA post shared by (@rajasthanroyals) Other than that, there was simply very little to talk about from whatever happened on the field. Oh, and CSK absolutely sucked. Off the field, however, what caught everyone’s attention was Chennai skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s comments about his own teammates and how it felt as if the 39-year-old veteran has already given up on all intentions of going ahead in the tournament, at least this season. View this post on InstagramA post shared by (@chennaiipl) After the disappointing defeat in his 200th IPL match, Dhoni said: “You don’t want to chop and change. Insecurity is something you don’t want to prevail in the dressing room. Fair enough, this season we weren’t really there.”The skipper then went on to criticise his own teammates, especially the young blood for not showing the “spark”. He said: “Also the youngsters, we didn’t see the spark to push the guys. But what this result has done is give those youngsters a chance in the rest of the tournament. Maybe going forward we bring them in and they play without pressure.” View this post on InstagramA post shared by (@chennaiipl) While nobody questioned Dhoni’s ability to lead a team to a title in the past, for him to throw his team’s youngsters under the bus like that, especially this season when the skipper himself has failed to leave an impact, is not justified. A season high of 47 runs while playing with a strike rate of 125.19, Dhoni has not only lost 70% of his matches this year but has also been criticised for not showing the intent to win. Ha ha ha , they are out of the season. This ipl is over for them. . Good to see the points table. pic.twitter.com/ab8M9A1vWb — basuCHANDAKi (@basuCHANDAKi) October 20, 2020 Early in the season, one of his biggest critics in Gautam Gambhir had called the captain out for “not leading the team from the front” when he had promoted relatively inexperienced players like Sam Curran and Kedar Jadhav ahead of him in the batting order during a chase. The lack of intent isn’t new either. Back in 2019 when India lost their first match in the World Cup against England, it was all-rounder Ben Stokes who pointed out how there was no sense of willingness, no sense of urgency in the way Dhoni was performing on the pitch, when his team, his country needed him to play like the finisher he used to be. © Reuters To the fans who blindly follow ‘Captain Cool’, I understand that MS Dhoni has led Chennai Super Kings to three remarkable IPL titles, making the franchise one of the most successful in league history but you can’t bask in the glory of the past forever. Every season is a new one and if you are one of those rare athletes your franchise paid massive sums of money to retain, you can’t afford to shift the blame on the less experienced, definitely not when you are the leader of the squad. View this post on InstagramA post shared by (@chennaiipl) “Step up or step aside,” that has to be one of the few basic lessons the world of sports teaches everyone involved in the fraternity. If you feel you are too old for being the best player on the field, then retire. Otherwise, show up when the team wants you the most. You’ve been doing it all your career, MS Dhoni. Time to do it again. View the full article
  13. Everyone has their quirks which are, for the most part, quite endearing. But, sometimes it gets way too annoying and becomes an easy target for trolls. As we all know, there are only a few things Amitabh Bachchan cares more about than getting the numbering of his tweets right. Why does he need to put the number before every tweet in the first place? Only he knows that, and if it makes him happy, there's no problem, as it's not affecting anyone. View the full article
  14. We're only six months into the year, but 2020 has already been quite an eventful year. From a possible World War 3 to a full-blown pandemic, we've seen it all. While we're still struggling to get out of a pandemic, it looks like there's already a new disease coming out of China. According to a new report, a city in Northern China sounded an alert after a suspected case of bubonic plague was reported. A level 3 warning of plague prevention and control came out of Bayannur, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. The suspected case was reported by a hospital in Bayannur. © Reuters The warning period will apparently continue until the end of 2020. The local health authority has confirmed the case and said there's a risk of a human plague epidemic spreading in the city. This, by the way, wasn't the first suspected case of this newly reported plague. Earlier this month, two other adults were found to be affected. They both are brothers and they're being tested at two separate hospitals. The brother reportedly ate marmot meat. Marmot, for those of you who don't know, is a type of rodent. A total of 146 people, who they've been in contact with, have been isolated and are being treated at local hospitals. Bubonic plague is a bacterial disease that is spread by flies living on wild rodents such as marmots. It can kill an adult in less than 24 hours if not treated in time. Last year, a couple died in the western Mongolian province of Bayan-Ulgii after eating raw marmot meat. The researchers are now concerned about further mutation so that they can transfer from person to person. That's probably the worst thing that can happen while we're already battling a full-blown pandemic. People are obviously not happy about this whole situation that we're in. Here are some Twitter responses to this news about the new disease. No! I beg for mercy. I canât cope with any more such news... https://t.co/3CtrIrAVII â anand mahindra (@anandmahindra) July 5, 2020 True that Itne virus hum biology class me na padhe honge jitne ye log iss saal invent kar chuke he ð¤£ð¤£ â Appu (@Appu_Jr1) July 5, 2020 We wish everything happening in 2020 was 'Fake News' Please tell me it's fake news. â Asha (@iamAshaLatha) July 5, 2020 Let's not step out of the house only. @PMOIndia seal boarders till end of 2020 . â SVDragnov (@SDragnov) July 5, 2020 We really hope we're not looking at a serious disease here. 15. Russell Crowe, popular for roles like Maximus from Gladiator, in his time in self-isolation, has found an unlikely bond with actor and comedian, Johny Vegas. Recently, he posted a video on his Twitter account for his 2.7 million followers to spread the word about Johny's charity in hometown of St Helens. However, what's interesting is how drastically different he looks in self-isolation than his usual self. © Twitter/Russel Crowe Johnny is part of this charity group that takes everyday essentials to vulnerable people and key workers in the northwest town. Take look at the video here: If you are in the St.Helens UK area pic.twitter.com/Rp7n4yrcgz â Russell Crowe (@russellcrowe) March 31, 2020 Self-isolation has drastically changed the way we groom ourselves. Now, that we're locked up in our houses for days on end, no one cares about social constructs like grooming the beard or dying it for that matter. Russell Crowe's self-isolation look is clearly surprising his fans. In fact. he looked barely recognisable in the video that he posted. This man couldn't believe it was Russell Crowe. 16. Aamir Khan, Bollywoodâs very own Mr Perfectionist, is believed to be a true magician when it comes to turning all that he touches into gold. Well, barring Thugs of Hindostan. But this 55-year-old Bollywood veteran has so many good titles to his name, that something like a Thugs of Hindostan doesnât quite succeed to shake our faith in his calibre as an actor. But did you know that there are a handful of superhit blockbuster films that Aamir rejected over the span of his 32-year-old career? We agree you may have thought about it, but wait till you find out about some of the priceless ones our Mr Perfectionist missed out on: 1. Saajan © Eros International Before Sanjay Dutt took on the role of Sagar in this superhit movie, Aamir Khan was approached to star opposite Salman Khan and Madhuri Dixit. However, Aamir declined the offer because he didnât like the character. 2. Darr © Yash Raj Films This was perhaps one of the earliest times when the âobsessive loverâ was brought alive on the silver screen in Bollywood. Itâs almost impossible to forget the psychotic Rahul Mehra and his âK..K..K...Kiranâ. But reportedly, Yash Chopra had first offered this iconic role to Aamir, who declined it because he wasnât sure about playing a villain so early on in his career. 3. Hum Aapke Hain Koun © Rajshri Productions A Rajshri Productions classic, this one really added a substantial fan following to Salmanâs Bollywood journey. But Premâs role was first offered to Aamir, who ended up rejecting the role because he didnât find the script meaty enough. 4. Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge © Yash Raj Films Weâre so sure this must have hurt Aamir a whole lot. This Aditya Chopra directorial debut was first offered to Aamir who declined it. Later Salman also rejected the film, which was finally taken up by Shah Rukh Khan and boy, did it change SRKâs career graph or what! 5. Mohabbatein © Yash Raj Films This is yet another Aditya Chopra directorial that Aamir declined, and we think he shouldnât have. It was after Aamirâs rejection that SRK was roped in to play the âlove guruâ Raj Aryan Malhotra. 6. Swades © UTV Motion Pictures Having worked with Aamir in mega-blockbuster Lagaan, director Ashutosh Gowariker wanted to cast Aamir in Swades too. But Aamir wasnât convinced about the story and therefore rejected it. And as we know today, Aamirâs loss was SRKâs gain. 7. Bajrangi Bhaijaan © Salman Khan Films Reportedly, the makers of this 2015 blockbuster had first offered the lead role to Aamir who suggested a few changes in the script which were rejected by the director. So, Aamir then suggested that Salman be approached for the role instead. View the full article
  17. Just when we thought dating tends couldn't get any worse there's a new list of habitual traits in relationships and generic dating that emerge. Today we're going to talk about 'fleabagging' and it's something we all need to be wary of, no matter what. Based on the popular series that made a significant impact on the younger generation, fleabagging is constantly dating people who aren't good for you! Yes, now there's another name for this trend. Other than calling it gas lighting, toxicity or even emotional abuse, you can club all of these under 'fleabagging' and make things easier for you. © BBC So, just like Phoebe Waller-Bridge's iconic character in Fleabag, this is the word for those of us who just can't get enough of the people who really don't make us very happy, and apparently there are a lot of fleabags on the dating scene. According to a research portal Plenty of Fish, 38 percent of blokes experience fleabagging and admit they get into a habit of dating women who are not good for them. So if you're prone to attracting women who're diabolically wrong for you, you have to realise you're a fleabagger and that you're fleabagging. Here's how you know you're fleabagging and maybe change that habit around by attracting someone who is good for you: (1) Change Your PatternYes, attraction works on a pattern and what you truly desire. If you don't recognise the pattern and change it about, you will indulge in the same old myriad of experiences and people. That's why recognise who and what you attract towards yourself and change it around to avoid fleabagging altogether. © Yash Raj Films (2) Meet Someone Different One way to change your pattern is to meet someone who is absolutely different from the usual women you've been meeting all along. So, if you recognise a similar streak in someone, maybe look for someone who can confidently give you the feeling of 'I've never met someone like her before'. © AA Films (3) Take A BreatherIf you've been fleabagging constantly, it's a good idea to take some time off for a while and really think about what and who you need to be around so you stop attracting people who are not good for you. After a toxic relationship is finally over, you should definitely take some time off and visualise what you want for your future and what you need to change and avoid to make things better © AA Films While fleabagging might have a fun ring to it, it's been a serious problem since relationships have existed and it's time to recognise why you are fleabagging in the first place and change it immediately.
