  1. It is an irony to see one of the best rappers in the industry turn into a curse for the sporting world. While music and sports are completely different worlds, finding success in one and brandished as a curse in another is an infamous distinction probably no one has achieved, barring, of course, Canadian rapper Drake. Apart from making the world dance to his hit tunes, Drake seems to have started a curse that continues to rock the sporting world. Rumour has it, that sportspersons tend to lose their respective matches or witness a slump in their performance right after meeting the popular rapper. While it might seem a little superstitious or far-fetched, but, we kid you not, the 'Drake Curse' is now actually a thing, leaving victims in its wake. The latest celeb who succumbed to the Canadian rapper's curse was none other than Sergio Aguero of Manchester City. A night after winning against Watford in the Premier League, Aguero met Drake at the backstage in Manchester Arena. And, as expected, when the Argentine returned to the football field for the first leg of the UEFA Champions League quarterfinals on Wednesday, the 'Drake Curse' was at it again as Aguero missed a penalty that would've surely saved City from a 1-0 defeat against Tottenham Hotspur. View this post on Instagram Bout to break the curse ð¦ #June1st A post shared by Anthony Joshua (@anthony_joshua) on Mar 21, 2019 at 2:56pm PDT On the same weekend, Jadon Sancho of Borussia Dortmund also arrived in Manchester to meet the Canadian star and uploaded a photo of himself alongside Drake on Instagram. View this post on Instagram The goat! @champagnepapi ð¤ð¼ð¥ A post shared by Jadon Sancho (@sanchooo10) on Mar 11, 2019 at 6:16am PDT Soon after, Sancho felt the full effect of the 'Drake Curse' when his side was humiliated at the hand of Bayern Munich with a 5-0 defeat. In another instance, when Drake's tour moved to London's O2 Arena, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang got a cheeky photo with him holding the Gabonese star's Arsenal shirt. Following which, the Gunners suffered an away defeat against Everton on Sunday, affecting their chances of a top-4 finish in the Premier League. And that's not all, the 'Drake Curse' has been influencing the sporting world for a while now. Over in America, Serena Williams, the University of Kentucky, Toronto Raptors in NBA, the University of Alabama American Football team have all been victims of the Canadian rapper's voodoo. You would famously remember Drake being on Conor McGregor's side before the latter's UFC clash with Khabib Nurmagomedov last year. View this post on Instagram The 6 God and The 12 animal! A post shared by Conor McGregor Official (@thenotoriousmma) on Oct 5, 2018 at 6:50pm PDT Continuing the practice, things did not go as planned for McGregor as he was beaten in emphatic style by the Russian fighter. Now to the latest, Anthony Joshua, The heavyweight champion who has won every professional fight in his 22-bout career, claims that he is going to end the 'Drake Curse' when he takes on Jarell Miller on 1st June. View this post on Instagram Bout to break the curse ð¦ #June1st A post shared by Anthony Joshua (@anthony_joshua) on Mar 21, 2019 at 2:56pm PDT Drake visited Joshua's gym last month, following which AJ posted a photo with the rapper claiming: "Bout to break the curse". With Joshua getting into the ring with Miller in less than two months, let's hope the 'Drake Curse' doesn't have any more victims till then.
  2. When you have so much money that you don't even know what to do with it, you start spending it on honestly the most bizarre, frivolous things. Case in point - Drake's new diamond encrusted iPhone case. Oh, and it apparently cost him $400,000 which is exactly â¹2,85,92,000. Basically, while we're all struggling to even afford an iPhone, he spent the money it would take to buy, say 400 iPhones, on a single phone case. I mean, it's his money and he can do whatever he wants with it, so Champagne Papi just decided to call everyone a broke bitch at the same time. Well, here's the cover, and please tell me I'm not the only one who thinks this is a little tacky. View this post on Instagram Because we can't do basic! Diamond iPhone case cover for our friend @champagnepapi ðð¼ðð¼ðð¼ A post shared by JASON OF BEVERLY HILLS (@jasonofbeverlyhills) on Feb 14, 2019 at 5:21am PST Not so basic, for sure. But, I still have some questions - What will happen when a new iPhone comes and it's time for Drake to upgrade? Will he stick to his current iPhone or drop another half a million dollars on a case? Is he being this extra just because he has a song called 'hotline bling' and this is literally hotline bling come to life? Does this case offer any extra protection when his phone inevitably falls? Will the diamonds prevent a broken screen? But, most importantly, I'm just scared of him losing his phone or someone stealing it. I mean, it would hurt us if we lost our iPhone, but he would not just lost his iPhone but 3 crore worth of diamonds as well. It hurts just thinking about it. Drake, be careful man, your phone is probably a target now.
  3. Before there was Kiki and people jumping out of their cars to profess their love for her, there were people telling everyone the only two things they loved - their bed and their mama - but they were at least sorry about it. Almost every song Drake releases has a huge impact everywhere, with challenges inspired by them or just becoming the most-played song (and soon overplayed as well, tbh) so it's no surprise that 'God's Plan' from his album Scorpion won the Grammy for Best Rap Song. What's actually surprising is Drake's acceptance speech at last night's awards show. While accepting his Grammy, Drake ended up calling out Grammys - intentionally or unintentionally, we don't really know - and looks like he angered some people because his speech was cut short as his mic was cut off. Oops. He started off by saying, “I want to take this opportunity while I'm up here to just talk to all the kids that are watching this, aspiring to do music. All my peers that make music from their heart that do things pure and tell the truth, I wanna let you know we're playing in an opinion-based sport, not a factual-based sport. So it's not the NBA where at the end of the year you're holding a trophy because you made the right decisions or won the games.” He then went on, “This is a business where sometimes it's up to a bunch of people who might not understand what a mixed-race kid from Canada has to say or a fly Spanish girl from New York or anybody else, or a brother from Houston right there, my brother Travis [Scott]. But my point is you've already won if you have people singing your songs word for word, if you're a hero in your hometown. Look, if there's people who have regular jobs who are coming out in the rain, in the snow, spending their hard earned money to buy tickets to come to your shows, you don't need this right here. I promise you, you already won.” And, he was going to continue speaking but the broadcast cut to commercial before Drake finished speaking. Here's the video: #GRAMMYs winner @Drake: "You've already won if you have people singing your songs word for word, if you're a hero from your hometown" https://t.co/LKT8CIeYvn pic.twitter.com/3UDE8jJzXR — Hollywood Reporter (@THR) February 11, 2019 Grammys may have not wanted it but obviously, a lot of people noticed the abrupt cut and a lot of people also could see that Drake wasn't finished yet. Was it ego? Just because Drake had told the truth, that awards don't really matter, doesn't mean you can just cut him off. People are still wondering where he was going with his speech and guess we'll never find out now. Soon as Drake said “you don't need this” the Grammys got vexed on em — brandon / jinx (@Jersey_Jinx) February 11, 2019 Yes, let him speak. Hey, Drake was going somewhere with that speech — Kazeem Famuyide (@RealLifeKaz) February 11, 2019 So eloquently put. Grammys cut to commercial real quick on Drake. They like “You ain't finna have people thinking they don't need us bruh.” #GRAMMMYs pic.twitter.com/lo2MF5jSEa — Jackie Hill Perry (@JackieHillPerry) February 11, 2019 WE NEED TO KNOW! Wait.. what was drake going to say?!.. I HAVE TO KNOW WHAT DRAKE WAS GOING TO SAY #GRAMMYs — Conor Maynard (@ConorMaynard) February 11, 2019 Worth it, tho. This Drake's last Grammy after what he said. But that was some real shit though. — ð¹(@Dr_Sweets23) February 11, 2019 Get on it. leak drake's full speech pls — Jon Caramanica (@joncaramanica) February 11, 2019 A proper explanation. Because he was saying that the Grammys and award shows as a whole are pointless, and a lot of people have a lot of money invested in us pretending they do matter. — Aldous Cucksley (@RussThallheimer) February 11, 2019 Yes, Adam! Drake's speech for the win — Adam Levine (@adamlevine) February 11, 2019
  4. The rumours of rap hero Drake dating Bollywood actress Athiya Shetty have been doing the rounds for quite a while now. He has been following her on Instagram for a while now and never shies away from commenting on her pictures as well. When his super hit 'Kiki Do You Love Me' became a chart buster, it was also hinted by many that maybe Athiya was his 'Kiki'. So while there has been no pictures of the two secretly meeting anywhere or any proof of them dating, the 'Passionfruit' singer made his affection for her quite clear when she recently celebrated her 26th birthday. Drake might be miles away but his gift for Athiya was special beyond any materialistic gestures. He claimed that he watched her recent movie 'Mubarakan'3 times on tour for her birthday!. View this post on Instagram This one was extra special and happy indeed. Thank you for all the love, wishes, and blessings. I truly feel so tremendously grateful and special. â¨ðð±ððð¼ ð¦ To my main people, I love you. You know who you are. PS: 26, be kind ð¤ð»ð¬ A post shared by Athiya Shetty (@athiyashetty) on Nov 5, 2018 at 7:47am PST Even if they ain't dating, isn't that too kind of him? 'Mubarakan' didn't fare too well at the box office but was still a family entertainer movie. Even though this should be a better gift for Arjun Kapoor since he was the lead, it still counts as a wonderful gesture, even if he is just a friend. Well, let's hope if something brews between them, we get to hear from Drake in his next album maybe?
  5. "Good afternoon passengers. It is your pilot...err...autopilot system speaking because the pilot is busy performing the Kiki challenge outside this moving plane..." Had there been any passengers inside, this would have probably been the message announced on the plane piloted by Alejandra Manriquez. After multiple fails, broken bones and risky accidents, most of us thought that the viral 'Kiki Challenge' is finally over. Yes, the same challenge where people get out of their moving cars to confess their love for a mysterious woman named Kiki. Actually, she isn't mysterious anymore, this is Kiki. © YouTube But, the point is I was wrong. People haven't gotten over the Kiki challenge yet and the latest entry is from Alejandra, a pilot by profession who took a break from her flight duties and jumped off a moving plane to take this viral dance challenge. Alejandra, who was joined by her flight attendant, pushed one of the levers in the cockpit and then stepped out of the plane as it started moving slowly. Reportedly, Alejandra's love for aviation began after she graduated from high school. She started her career as a flight attendant and then got into a flight school at 22. She has already flown to more than 40 countries and now flies private jets across the Atlantic Ocean. #kiki dance in pilots way ðð pic.twitter.com/62zKlz58fx — Aviationdailyâï¸Ø§ÙØ·Ùرا٠ÙÙÙÙØ¢ (@Aviationdailyy) August 28, 2018 Is it just me or the Kiki challenge has really taken the world by storm. Thanks to Drake, I am sure people won't name their kids Kiki anymore or will they to go viral? But, I am sure Drake must be proud of Alejandra for taking the Kiki challenge to 'flight mode'. Since, we're talking about Drake and Kiki, let's take a look at Drake's official version.
