  1. Last week, Game Of Thrones' 'The Long Night' episode had abysmal ratings all over the internet and we pointed out some key issues that were obviously very evident. Just to make it clear, I love the “Song of Ice and Fire" series; however, the last season has been disappointing for various reasons. I mean I don't want to be known as the “GOT Hater” but it is getting hard to defend the latest season. In fact, 'The Last Of The Starks' episode had its own share of issues that basically points to one thing: the showrunners are rushing the plot and have no clue what they are doing. © Rotten Tomatoes Just to give you a perspective, the first Season GOT has a 100% rating on every episode while the latest season is getting worse with every episode. “The Long Night” was second lowest episode on GOT's history as it had a rating of 73% on Rotten Tomatoes. 'The Last Of The Starks' has now dethroned the previous episode to become the second lowest rated episode with a rating of 61% at the time of writing this. The lowest rated episode in GOT's history is Season 5 Episode 6 with a rating of 54%. Many scenes and plot lines defy logic and storytelling that is the primary cause for low ratings even on Metacritic. The episode is plagued with lapses in logic that were too irritating to ignore. It seems like many decisions are made to serve as it conveniently fits the plot but isn't really demanded by it. Needless to say that if you haven't seen the episode yet, we recommend you skip this story right now; because you have been warned. Jon's True Heritage © HBO We finally got to the point where Jon shared the secret of his true ancestral heritage with Arya and Sansa. It was a key moment we've all been waiting for to see how his family would react to the news. Just before Bran tells Arya and Sansa Jon's secret, the scene is set up with Arya telling Jon that she doesn't consider him as a half-brother but in fact her real brother. They set up a scene full of emotion but it all got screwed up as we didn't get to see any reactions from the two sisters as Bran told them Jon's secret. It was probably the most important scene of this season that would set up the entire season's plot, but instead we got to see nothing. Arya simply left Winterfell and we see Sansa crying while staring at Daenerys' dragons. Where is the conflict we were supposed to see? Where are all the emotions the scene built up right before? Why would they leave such a huge moment off camera? It's not that Maisie Williams and Sophie Turner are bad actors, we've seen them give outstanding performances in previous seasons so why turn away now? The Weapon That Killed Rhaegal © HBO One of the shocking deaths was of Rhaegal as he was shot down by Scorpions used by Euron Greyjoy's fleet. Sure, that was a cool way to kill one of the dragons. However, my issue is with how he was killed. Rhaegal dies with three very precise shots that pierces through his body and ends up killing him. We've seen this weapon before as the Scorpion's bolt was first used to attack Drogon by Bronn in season 7. Here's my issue with this scene: all the three bolts right on target with utmost accuracy; however, when the same weapon is used against Drogon and Daenerys, each one of them misses. Just moments ago Euron's fleet hit every shot on Rhaegal but missed when Danny was charging them in a straight line of fire? © Hotstar Drogon is a much larger target and they still missed? Like the entire fleet targetted Drogon and not a single one hit. Sure, you could say that Rhaegal's injuries made him slower and weaker but it still doesn't justify that the entire fleet missed a larger target that was flying in a straight line towards them. This a classic case where decisions are taken for the convenience of the plot without putting any real effort or thought to them. The logic is missing because it seems like the show-runners have run out of ideas and are now just taking rushed decisions without taking logic into consideration. © HBO My other issue is with the bolt itself. Just last season we saw Drogon get injured by Bronn when he used the Scorpion to deter the attack. Drogon was visibly injured but was forced to land and Dany easily took it out. Now all of a sudden the bolt is powerful enough to destroy ships and pierce a dragon's skin. Have the bolts suddenly gotten stronger? Who will tell us that? Do the showrunners just expect us to assume that certain advances were made off-screen? C'mon guys, you can do better than that. Why Didn't Daenerys See The Fleet? © HBO Dany and her two dragons were literally 200 feet above sea level and neither of them spotted a massive fleet? I mean they could see them very clearly but both the dragons and Daenerys were flying around without having any sense of awareness? It's not like some lone-wolf was attacking them from behind a bush or something, it was an entire fleet! Given her vantage point up in the sky, Daenerys should have seen the Greyjoy fleet approaching. Ghost's Departure © HBO As a pet owner, I can't wait to get home from work and play with my dogs every day. I feel sad leaving them behind every day when coming to my workplace in the morning. It's sort of hard to believe that Ghost's departure was handled in the most unrealistic manner. Ghost has been with Jon ever since he was a pup and has saved his life many times. Ghost also battled the White Walkers and lost his ear in the 'Battle For Winterfell'. The least Jon could do was hug his direwolf before he sends him off with the free-folk. I mean, it was the saddest moment in the entire episode and we don't even see Jon interact with his pet wolf? I'm not the only one who felt this way, in fact, there were many Twitter reactions to this scene and you can read more about it here.
  2. I just have to say one thing before starting this article - if you don't stay for the end credit scenes in a Marvel movie, you're a disgrace to this fandom and you don't deserve to even watch the movies. Every single person knows that a end credit scene in any movie which is part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is an important as the movie itself. From giving clues as to what's next to basically have the biggest superheroes in the world just sit and eat after a battle, the end credit scenes are the real MVPs of Marvel movies and not even Marvel can deny that. Everyone's gearing up for the endgame - and possible end - of the OG Avengers in 'Avengers: Endgame' by binge watching all the movies again or just by following all the theories or memes. Marvel itself had a better idea to give the fans a refresher - a compilation of all the end credit scenes. The official Twitter account of Marvel has blessed us with the best Twitter thread right now and the easiest way to watch all of them. Starting off is RDJ as Iron Man, of course and the entry of Nick Fury, setting up the idea of 'Avengers' from the get go. “You've become a part of bigger universe, you just don't know it yet.” pic.twitter.com/eOmLZO5l1d — Marvel Studios (@MarvelStudios) April 22, 2019 Then Tony Stark showed up in 'The Incredible Hulk'. “What if I told you we were putting a team together...” pic.twitter.com/6fvpAvd9kL — Marvel Studios (@MarvelStudios) April 22, 2019 Thor's hammer Mjölnir showing up before Thor himself towards the end of 'Iron Man 2'. “Sir, we found it.” ð¨ pic.twitter.com/Dv4pURzD1z — Marvel Studios (@MarvelStudios) April 22, 2019 Loki being sneaky at the end of 'Thor'. “Well I guess that's worth a look.” pic.twitter.com/iPZOnhBZzA — Marvel Studios (@MarvelStudios) April 22, 2019 'Captain America: The First Avenger' had a rather simple one. “You here with a mission sir?” pic.twitter.com/aynOatBSL6 — Marvel Studios (@MarvelStudios) April 22, 2019 Giant purple grape is here! ð pic.twitter.com/yFTa2AzaQA — Marvel Studios (@MarvelStudios) April 22, 2019 The most iconic end credit scene, hands down. 3. "That night still haunts me. When I saw my dad butchered to death before my own eyes. It was terrifying, to live in the constant fear of imminent claws of death. Even the memory of it throws me back to a dark time in my own life, a time of helplessness and fear." For most of us, this is a sad story that moves people and brings tears to their eyes. But, there is someone somewhere who is living this horror every single day. Within an instant, they lose their home, families, language, occupation, everything and become refugees seeking shelter and safety. © enactus DCAC We live in the comfort of four walls, eat proper food, drink clean water, and get the best education possible. We are so protected and have everything at our disposal that we never realise how privileged we are. On one hand, where we start taking things for granted, on the other, there exists a parallel world where our basic necessities are somebody's luxury. They crave for it, they want it, but cannot afford it. We are talking about those who are underprivileged. © enactus DCAC The absence of government support, basic human rights and most of all absence of humanity from us, makes this community even more vulnerable. Some ignore the underprivileged and refugees, some pity them, but how many of us actually come forward to help them? Well, we don't know about you but a bunch of students sure are working towards their upliftment and in the process, are taking huge steps towards building a better society. Meet Enactus, an international non-profit student body spread across 36 countries with 144 chapters in India, which is working for the upliftment of the underprivileged and marginalised communities in their own right. One of their chapters in Delhi is looked by Delhi University's Delhi College of Arts and Commerce (DCAC). © enactus DCAC Enactus DCAC realised that because the refugees have little or no education, they are trapped in a vicious cycle of poverty and often find themselves getting drawn towards anti-social activities. So the students of this organisation decided to bring about a change, with the power vested in them and together they launched the project Taaleem, to provide quality primary education to the refugee children. © enactus DCAC Their strategy is simple, use a community-driven model of storytelling, and they have specially designed an Active Story Based Curriculum for them. Since these kids have not been to school, they have a huge learning gap irrespective of how old they are. So they analyse the learning and knowledge level of the kids and then divide them into groups on the basis of their learning levels instead of ages. © enactus DCAC These young college students have pledged to bring light and hope in the refugees' lives and change their lives for good. Apart from Taaleem, they are also working on CanSurvive, a project wherein they aim at selling prosthetic bras at a lesser rate and also break the taboo around breast cancer. If only more people could think like them, the world would be a better place to live in.
  4. After eagerly waiting for the UEFA Champions League draws for the quarter-finals, we finally have the table in front of us. The Champions League quarter-finals are set ð« Happy? #UCL pic.twitter.com/NQRf7Flh0o — Goal (@goal) March 15, 2019 While the rest of the contests look pretty decent, our major focus instantly shifted to the matches between Lionel Messi's Barcelona FC and Paul Pogba's Manchester United that are destined to take place on 9th April (Leg 1) and 16th April. Keeping in mind the performances carried out by two of the most historically prestigious football clubs in the recent past it is safe to say that Messi and Co. clearly have the upper hand. Case in point, Barcelona's previous match up against Lyon which the Spanish giants easily cruised past after winning 5-1 on aggregate. With Messi coming back to form in the second leg as he scored two goals and assisted twice, things don't seem to be getting any easier for the Red Devils. On the other hand, Manchester United have proven their true worth to those who underestimated them during their duel against Mbappe's Paris Saint-Germain. We scoured the internet to check out exactly how the fans from both sides reacted to the draw and the results are hilarious: Overjoyed Barcelona Fans: Rip Man United — Messi ð (@loyalmessi) March 15, 2019 Thank you Jessssssssssssuuuuussssssðððð we're through — Saucererð (@ghermaine__) March 15, 2019 I foresee an easy gameðððð...LOL ðð — Yusuf Olatunji (@Yusuf_Olatunji2) March 15, 2019 It's coming home ðªð — Leoð (@ProudCule1) March 15, 2019 RIP IN ADVANCE MAN U — Keith (@Keith58808029) March 15, 2019 Depressed and Gloomy Manchester United Fans: Dear @ChampionsLeague, Thanks for the memories but it's time to say goodbye... — Himansh (@GunnarMindset) March 15, 2019 pic.twitter.com/xmGFPvZKpy — Esoâ (@EsoKachikwu) March 15, 2019 pic.twitter.com/TMr5fN8wDV — Leo Carter ð¾ðª (@LeoCarter27) March 15, 2019 pic.twitter.com/TMr5fN8wDV — Leo Carter ð¾ðª (@LeoCarter27) March 15, 2019 My brother when I told they'd drawn Barcelona ðð pic.twitter.com/2LKqcF1fPj — William (@talibanscum) March 15, 2019 pic.twitter.com/sItdB4e1eu — Koyin ð³ð¬ (@K0YIN) March 15, 2019
  5. With less than 24 hours before Lionel Messi's exceptional performance against Lyon at Camp Nou that propelled his Barcelona FC to the quarter-finals of UEFA Champions League for a record twelfth time, it was the world's most famous athlete, Cristiano Ronaldo who put Juventus on his shoulders and brought home a 3-0 (3-2 on aggregate) victory to enter the quarter-finals as well. Ronaldo's solid hat-trick, which included two magnificent headers in the first half and a well-placed penalty in the bottom right corner of the net in the final minutes of the game, was more of a reminder that the Portuguese exudes excellence no matter which side he plays for. It's all over! A @Cristiano hat-trick against Atlético Madrid sends Juventus through to the #UCL quarterfinals. https://t.co/h8fnqHE1ZG — Twitter Moments (@TwitterMoments) March 12, 2019 With the former Champions League winners and Ronaldo's previous team, Real Madrid being knocked out of the contest by Ajax in the Round of 16, the narrative of the five-time Ballon d'Or holder and his legacy only get more convincing. On the other hand, it was Ronaldo's arch-nemesis and greatest individual competition, Lionel Messi who stole the spotlight in a 5-1 win against Lyon last night. His two goals consisted of a skilful panenka penalty in the 17th minute and a bottom right strike to the net following a fancy dribbling run in the 78th. Man of the match.â¡ï¸ Leo Messi lights up the ultimate stage once again. #NEMEZIZ #DareToCreate pic.twitter.com/3Fmj75xPY6 — Team Messi (@TeamMessi) March 13, 2019 With the match far away from the hands of Bruno Génésio's team, the Argentine assisted teammates Gerard Pique and Ousmane Dembele for one goal each, making it Messi's very first Champions League game with two goals and two assists. The back to back performances from the two titans make it very interesting for the true fans of the game to sit back and ponder whether Messi and Ronaldo truly inspire each other to become the better versions of themselves, push their limits and aspire harder to become the best footballer in the world. After the win against Lyon, Messi shared his thoughts about Ronaldo's performance from the previous night. "Cristiano and Juventus were awesome... It was a big surprise because I thought Atletico would be stronger. But Juventus overcame them and Cristiano had a magical night with three goals," the Argentine told Movistar+. Tuesday: Hat-trick from Ronaldo Wednesday: Two goals and two assists from Messi Back-to-back ðperformances (via @brfootball) pic.twitter.com/5LWzVLZv1T — Bleacher Report (@BleacherReport) March 13, 2019 According to Andy West (BBC Sports), Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers has shown support to this theory. When West asked Rodgers about this notion whilst interviewing him for a book he wrote on Messi, Rodgers said: “Maybe subconsciously in some way they've driven each other on, but I think both those players inherently have that hunger to be the best players they can be. With the very elite performers, that drive comes from within. The two megastars, no doubt, are completely different as players. While Ronaldo looks to quench his thirst for goals every second of the game, Messi looks to make the team around him better as a whole and surely, the methods followed by two are ways apart, the ultimate goal (pun intended) is to be the best in the world. The two wizards of the sport therefore not only get inspired by each other's magic, but they also continue to work on their spells to outdo their respective competitions and as football fans, we couldn't ask for more.
  6. While most of you are busy celebrating Valentine's Day today with your SO, we at MensXP are celebrating some of the most beautiful love stories. Love stories that are far greater than any shackles of stereotypes, discrimination against homosexuality, barriers of caste, religion and everything in between. Stories of people who dared to bare their hearts in front of each other, overcame their ups and downs in life together with a big smile on their faces. Amidst the daily battles between old school romance vs millennial love, reel-life romance vs real-life love stories; there is one couple who is living their love one moment at a time and redefining the term 'relationship goals' for all of us every day. We're talking about Rajkummar Rao and Patralekha, whose 8-year-old relationship has not only stood the test of time but also proved to be an inspiration for those around them. © Instagram Rajkummar is undoubtedly one of the finest and the most versatile actors in the current crop of Bollywood. We have seen many facets of Rajkummar Rao on-screen, but how is the actor in real life, especially when it comes to love? Patralekha gave us exclusive insights into their relationship, their favourite memories and their idea of Valentine's Day. Their First Date & Favourite Memory "I was totally amazed and blown away by his dedication and hard work. He was focussed and would only concentrate on his next scene. I started admiring him and then we became friends", said Patralekha, who met him in FTII where the two had gone to do a student project. When asked about her favourite memory, she said, "I was back home in Shillong and Raj just turned up outside my home to surprise me." © Instagram The 'Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga' actor too has a special memory of how the two met and who played the cupid for him. Turns out it was a commercial he saw her in, "We never went on an official date. It's surprising but it's true. I had noticed her in a commercial before we got a chance to work with each other but somewhere deep down, I always knew that she is the one." Millennial Love vs Old School Romance "My idea of love is old school if you ask. I would love to receive a hand-written note from Patra or I love it when she asks me 'how your day' after a day's hard work. So, you can call me traditional that way, but I believe in keeping promises."- Rajkummar. "My idea of love is all about trust. You invest so much in a relationship emotionally that it can totally drain you if your trust or love is broken. So, both of us trust each other immensely and ensure we don't break it or take each other for granted." - Patralekha. © Instagram How Do The Two 'Share The Load' And Responsibilities Recently, Rajkummar and Patralekha appeared together in the campaign organised by Ariel. The campaign talks about gender equality and urges the sons to '#ShareTheLoad'. The core triggering question of this powerful movement is – 'Are we teaching our sons what we are teaching our daughters?' Bollywood's latest 'IT' couple too participated in the campaign and spoke to lengths about their idea of equality. Rajkummar said, "Today's sons will be tomorrow's husbands and thus, they should be equipped to demonstrate equality within the household. They can start this with simple chore like laundry and start sharing responsibilities with their mothers and sisters so that they grow up to be equal partners when they get married." © Instagram Patralekha too feels that since women today are excelling in all fields, they expect to get support from their partners so that they don't feel overburdened with responsibilities. "It's only fair that their partners share the load. But if sons of today are not equipped to contribute to household work, they will never be able to do it in future. Thus, conflict is natural to occur. I am thankful to have Raj as a partner. He believes, says, and demonstrates that we are truly equal partners. But, partners like Raj shouldn't be exceptions, they should be the norm," said Patralekha. Reel-Life Vs Real-Life Jealousy and possessiveness can sometimes break even the strongest of relationships. With billions of people watching you and keeping a track of your personal life, things only get tough for Bollywood actors. "I am quite secure that way. It's because of the confidence, comfort and trust that Raj gives me. We share everything so there is no doubt and if there is, I openly ask him, and he explains. Being from the same industry, I understand the limitations and compulsions that actors must go through. So, it works out fine." - Patralekha. Just like all of us, Raj and Patra too have their own plans and ideas about Valentine's Day and they are genuinely better than all of ours. © Instagram "Every day is a Valentine's Day with Patra. She is a great partner and a great friend; she is the person I want to come back to after a long day. I can be myself with her without being judged. I think love is about all this, about the comfort, compassion, fun that you share with the partner." - Rajkummar. View this post on Instagram #JummaChumma with @patralekhaa #Bangkok video credit by my dear friend @vivek_daschaudhary A post shared by Raj Kummar Rao (@rajkummar_rao) on Dec 30, 2017 at 9:52am PST "We celebrate love every day…that's the best part of being us. No special plans, being together and taking time out for each other is the best thing to do." - Patralekha. We guess we all can learn a lesson or two from Raj and Patra, as the two lovingly call each other, when it comes to treating our partners as equals.
  7. Seeing the world through the eyes of an explorer soothes more than just our senses, it feeds our soul. There is a renewed sense of vitality that comes from seeking the world with an avid lust of a traveller, who wishes to discover new places and gather experiences that turn out to be nothing less than Aladdin's treasure. This becomes all the more poignant when people say that the world is an oyster for those who know where to look. Tryst with the travel bug is made memorable every time we witness the lush hill stations, or snow-capped mountains and pristine islands sitting in the lap of nature, that are scattered around the world. © Instagram Yet, such amazing experiences would get heightened manifold if one could witness the teeming beauty of this world in the company of someone they love and wish to share their life with. It is a life that most couples would kill for, and there is no guessing why. The possibility of discovering the captivating beauty of the earth with the person who makes your world go round, would pretty much be like living the dream life. And let us tell you that Vidit and Savi are living this exact life. They are lovers as well as travellers in love, and this is exactly how their story unfolded. For Vidit and Savi, their love for travelling and discovering the world together first began from the backseat of their school bus rides at DPS R. K. Puram. Talking about that time of their life Savi says, “we met in high school in New Delhi – we were friends for years, dated for ages, and then got married!” © Instagram Even their first date involved the outdoors, and even though it was a long time ago, Savi remembers it like it was yesterday, “we went for a long drive and coffee at a newly-opened coffee shop in the city! I'd happily do that on a date even today!” Even after having seen most of the world with Vidit, Savi is more than happy to take him up on a similar date even today - who said little things don't count? From that first date to a gazillion one-of-a-kind dates later, Savi and Vidit have come a long way. However, it was back in 2008 when the couple took the biggest leap of their lives. From travelling as a couple to scaling thousands of miles to get married and travel to a new place every month and amping that up to travelling to a new destination every few days and leaving their jobs to make it possible, Savi and Vidit's journey has been nothing short of an adventure. © Instagram The couple decided to document it all on their blog 'Bruised Passports', which today has a great following online. So, when Jaime Lynn Beatty once said that, “jobs fill your pocket, but adventures fill your soul,” we suppose nobody could live up to this saying better than the makers of 'Bruised Passports'. As of today, the couple has travelled to 90 countries around the world, with many more to go as per their itinerary. However, their journey as travellers in love began when they were teenagers. Recalling their journey as a couple, this is what Savi had to say, “we travelled a fair bit in South East Asia as teenagers when we had just started dating because Vid went to university in Singapore. That's when both of us fell in love with travelling together!” © Instagram Soon, life caught up with the young couple and “as we grew up, we moved to London and got married. At this stage of our lives, we would save our salaries to travel together each month. We spent almost 8 years in London and would try to travel to a new place every month! This is how we ended up exploring Europe, the US, and parts of Africa.” However, the thrill of exploration and discovery rubbed off on the couple and they began to seek much more of what they had already tasted of life as travellers. Savi shares more and says, “sometime along the way we fell in love with travelling and savouring new experiences. Eventually, we ended up working towards travelling full time. Experiencing remote corners and busy cities of the world together has brought us a lot closer. It's like being partners-in-crime at a whole new level.” © Instagram Yet, when we asked them of their most cherished memory, this is what they had to say, “Finnish Lapland - the feeling of lying in a transparent glass igloo and looking out at the Northern Lights is incomparable. A trip to Lapland offers so many bucket list items - riding a reindeer, sledging with husky dogs, seeing the Northern Lights, cruising through a frozen sea, swimming with icebergs - and for that reason, it is second to none!” Just reading about it is making us daydream about all the glory they might have witnessed, and that sure as hell would be one of the most romantic ways of spending a date night with our significant other, don't you agree? © Instagram But this journey that Savi and Vidit set out on over a decade ago has taught them as much about each other as individuals, as it has taught them about relationships and life at large. Vidit shares how he learns something new from Savi every single day, “I have learnt to be a fighter when it comes to achieving goals. Savi has a meticulous rhythm of working and because of that, I learn something new from her every day. She juggles so many different roles and does it all with perfection.” As for Savi, she claims that “I've learnt the art of prioritising from Vid and never settling for anything less than 100%. He strives for complete happiness, in work and life, and isn't afraid of spending hours, days, or even years to achieve something. But it has to look exactly like what he had in mind! I'm also really proud of the fact that he's passionate about gender equality and is always talking about how important it is to fight stereotypes and respect women.” © Instagram And when you ask the couple what their relationship has taught them over the years, they say, “loads. But mostly that a long term relationship isn't always about flowers and candles. It's about adventure, experiences, mind-numbing compatibility, and consciously CHOOSING to be with someone every single day. And marriage isn't about duties, being 'tied down' (the one stereotype we hate the most!) or becoming one soul!” For them, love and marriage mean nothing else than saying that, “it's actually about celebrating your individualities, being two financially independent people supporting each other's dreams, giving each other strength when all hope is lost, and most importantly having fun!” © Instagram Savi and Vidit may have travelled far and wide on the face of this earth, but they have also managed to discover themselves in the process, and grow as individuals as well as a couple by coming in touch with myriad people, places and cultures which only helped them to appreciate life and each other a lot better. Why? Because this world can be the greatest teacher, and when you know where to look, it can surprise you with some of life's most splendid experiences.
  8. We find love in the strangest of places. All while a seemingly unthreatening person manages to disarm us with that one look or smile casually thrown our way, which leaves our heart craving for more, so much more! The arena of online dating happens to be one such space where most of us venture into without any set expectations of what might come our way. That is mostly because this entire scene of online dating bears an air of mystery and suspense around it - a sort of a thrill that has succeeded in luring even a few “hermits” around us. You never know who you will meet in this virtual world, and even if you think you like the person you behold on the screen going by their bio, likes-dislikes and hobbies et al., you cannot be too sure unless you meet them up close and see for yourself if the two of you are worth another shot. Souvik Thakur Sure, this might be true in 99% of the cases, though there still exist a few who get so lucky with their online dates, that they end up signing the deal of spending an entire lifetime with one another. Such is the story of Souvik and Upasana, who met each other on an online dating website, and so fiery was their chemistry from the very onset, that the couple ended up marrying each other within a year of their first official date! It all began in late 2017, or more specifically 22nd October 2017 as Upasana would point out when the two first found out about each other on an online dating platform. Souvik is quick to add that, “it was her smile that caught my attention,” and he didn't waste any time in getting in touch with Upasana after that. “It was love at first sight (for me), even though we were living in two different cities then. I was in Delhi, while she was in Kolkata,” adds Souvik. Remembering that fateful night, Upasana recalls, “I remember that Sunday. I had a night recess and after I woke up, I saw a notification of his request. After reading his message, I shared my phone number. Within a second he called me, and we started talking. He spoke for an hour and by the end of it, he proposed me for marriage.” Souvik Thakur We know, that almost sounds like a Japanese bullet train of dating on the move. But you know what, in the matters of the heart, when you know, you know. Whether it is a matter of knowing someone for an hour, a year or even ten years for that matter, you simply know it when you find 'the one'. However, we wonder, if their first virtual meeting was so zippy, imagine all the fire alarms that must have gone off when the two met each other for the first time, for real! You guessed it, for both Souvik and Upasana, their first date remains one of the greatest highlights of their relationship so far. It was 25th December 2017 when they finally met in person after constantly being in touch for a little over two months. While Souvik recalls the day for their exploration of the City of Joy, eating and shopping their hearts out and making memories together, it was much more special for Upasana. Souvik Thakur “It was 25th December and he had come down from Delhi to meet me. Naturally, it was special for me. We met at Esplanade, the heart of Kolkata. Then we went to Princep Ghat. After spending some quality time on the bank of river Ganges, we went to taste Biryani from Kolkata's famous Biryani shop. Then he surprised me by gifting me a yellow-green from a famous boutique,” shares Upasana. The saree, as Souvik tells us, was a gift to celebrate their first date. And they say men are not romantic and thoughtful enough. Anyhow, that's definitely one memorable first date the two had, won't you agree? However, from the numerous memories the two share between them, for Souvik one of the most unforgettable ones is when the two spent some quiet time alone in each other's company on the terrace at his place - “(the) terrace is a very special place for me. I love to read, write, sing on the terrace. Finally, I took her to my special place in the house,” recalls Souvik. Our man here had finally found the woman to share his special place with, and we all know that's a big commitment all by itself, even though many women don't know it at the moment. But since things were already moving in the fifth gear for the couple since the beginning, the real deal was never too far behind. Souvik Thakur Soon after their first meeting, Souvik couldn't wait to take the next big step. He had all the plans laid out. But like it is usually in the case of love, things don't come easy. Sure enough, Souvik had a hurdle to move past before he could claim his lady love, and make her his for the next 'seven lifetimes'. Since Souvik was living in Delhi for work, it meant that for Upasana getting married would be a lot more than just tying the knot. So when Souvik popped the question, Upasana couldn't accept the proposal instantly, even when she wanted to. “I would have said yes, but couldn't. Since he lived in Delhi for the sake of his job, and I didn't want to relocate from my hometown Kolkata, I clearly told him so. He was very disheartened, but tried to convince me to make the move. After 15 days, he succeeded. I agreed to move to Delhi.” Once this was taken care of, things picked up speed and their families got involved. The date for the wedding was set and finally, on 2nd December 2018, the couple got hitched. Even though most things happened in a blur in their relationship, married life has come with its own share of lessons and experiences for the couple. Souvik Thakur According to Upasana, their journey from bachelorhood to being married has changed their perspective about relationship and love. As a married couple, they are becoming more and more responsible with every passing day. Even Souvik agrees that the relationship has taught him to choose his battles wisely, adjust and compromise where necessary and take important decisions keeping each other in mind. However, with all things said and done, the newlyweds believe that their relationship has taught them to love selflessly and accept each other's quirks. “We are two very much different people. She is loud and expressive, whereas I am soft and calm. But we love to eat, travel & listen to music together. These are the binding factors of our relationship and our lives”, says Souvik. Souvik Thakur For Upasana, however, the most unique quality of her husband is that “he is a very good human being, funny and he is very passionate towards his work.” The couple may be completely opposite in nature and personality type, but these traits help to balance their relationship and add depth to it. Married for just two months today, the journey so far has been a revelation for the couple in a lot of ways. Not only are they getting to know each other more deeply, but they are also evolving as individuals as they take on this journey called life together.

  10. Vishal Bhardwaj's movies never leave us disappointed, as there is something about him that gives his movies a unique blend that most makers can't seem to conjure. Following the same pattern is his new film 'Pataakha' starring Sanya Malhotra from 'Dangal' and Radhika Madan. The trailer of the movie is out and it is gritty, complex and hilarious. (c) B4U Motion Pictures Vishal introduces two sisters Genda Kumari or 'Chhutki' (Sanya) and Champa Kumari or 'Badki' (Radhika) who, like most siblings, are out for each other's blood and are constantly at each other's throats. (c) B4U Motion Pictures The narrator in the trailer compares their violent and turbulent relationship to that of India and Pakistan, and honestly, he's not exaggerating! Living in a village in Rajasthan with their father aka Bapu (Vijay Raaz), the film very impressively establishes the rivalry between the two sisters, that has existed right from their childhood. (c) B4U Motion Pictures From massive brawls, which are often public, to being beedi-addicts to flirting with boys just for fun, the two are always indulging in some mischief which has their poor father at his wit's end. We soon see Bapu in dire need of money, who then fixes the marriage of his daughter with a rich man (Saanand Verma). But the twist comes when both the sisters run away and end up marrying men, who turn out to be brothers. (c) B4U Motion Pictures You can imagine their horror, as the sisters realise, that they'll have to end up living together, again! We also see Sunil Grover featuring as Dipper Naradmuni who is amazing as always. (c) B4U Motion Pictures Clearly, this is yet another piece of fine work by Bhardwaj about an epic sibling rivalry, which I'm sure most of us can relate to. 'Pataakha' is based on acclaimed writer Charan Singh Pathik's short story 'Do Behenein' and looks very promising indeed. Check out the trailer now: The movie is all set to hit the big screen on September 28.
  11. 'Are Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh getting married this year?' A question we still don't have a definite answer to, and probably won't have until they actually get married after pulling a Virushka. But, as the world speculates about their impending wedding, both of them seem very chilled out and still behave like they're both teenagers dating someone for the first time. Instead of posting PDA pictures all over social media – because they're classy like that – both of them just restrict the PDA to comments and often have something really lovey-dovey to say about each other's pictures, that too with a bunch of emojis. © Instagram In case you haven't noticed, Ranveer Singh's Instagram only screams one thing – this guy loves himself and looks like even Deepika loves this 'self-love' and how he posts so many nice pictures of himself on a daily basis. Yesterday, he posted this collage and among a sea of comments, one definitely stood out. âï¸âï¸âï¸ A post shared by Ranveer Singh (@ranveersingh) on Aug 12, 2018 at 7:59am PDT Here's a little bit of PDA we got in the comment section. © Instagram Doesn't this seem like a very “teenagers in love” kind of thing to say? “You stop it, no you stop it.” Actually, this is not even the first time both of them have done this. Yes, leaving comments is not a big deal but both of them have never confirmed their relationship publicly and this is all the confirmation we've gotten in years. Now, they're more open about their love and Deepika proved that by writing 'mine' on one of his pictures a while ago. © Instagram And, here's a bunch of times Ranveer was there to remind his girlfriend how drop dead gorgeous she is. © Instagram What a queen! © Instagram Yep, exactly. © Instagram A heart eyes emoji is worth a thousand words. © Instagram He really likes the word 'gosh'. © Instagram Okay, last one. © Instagram In conclusion, both of them are probably getting married soon but still behave like teenagers in love for the first time and it's beautiful to see, actually.
  12. The legendary Nargis Dutt had a huge influence on the life of her son Sanjay Dutt. She was responsible for shaping his personality, his perspective and helped him in getting rid of his drug addiction. © Twitter In fact, Rajkumar Hirani's biopic 'Sanju' brilliantly portrayed the importance of Nargis in Sanjay's life. An interview from 1991surfaced on the web recently, where Sanjay, for the first time, talked about coming in terms with his mother's death. Nargis, who gave us some extraordinary films, succumbed to cancer just three days before Sanjay's debut film 'Rocky' hit the screens. She was adamant that the movie's premiere should not be postponed no matter what. As the family bid her goodbye, 'Rocky' released exactly on the date it was supposed to. © FoxSTarHindi “When my mother died, I did not cry, had no emotions – nothing. It was after 2 years that I was sitting in this group that all of a sudden this guy started playing the tape,” Sanjay says in the video. But when his friend played that recording of Nargis's final words from her deathbed, Sanjay confessed that he, “burst into tears and cried and cried for hours.” © Twitter In the audio recording, one can hear Nargis saying, “More than anything, Sanju, keep your humility. Keep your character. Never show off. Always be humble and always respect the elders. That is the thing that is going to take you far, and that is going to give you strength in your work.” The video is so hard-hitting that it did give us goosebumps. Check out the heart-breaking clip here: This tape even plays a vital part in Hirani's film, though the content is a little different. He showed us how due to drug addiction, Sanju couldn't digest his mother's (played by Manisha Koirala) death. It was only a year later, when his father (played by Paresh Rawal) played his mother's tape, that he got the courage to fight his addiction. © FoxStarHindi Until the film released, not many knew how Nargis' death had impacted Sanjay. The actress died of pancreatic cancer in 1981, at the age of 51. It was her tape that transformed Sanjay and changed his life for the better.
