  1. Britney Spears turned to her social media and lashed out at all photographers and reporters prying on her
  2. After finishing the opening day (technically the Day 2) of the World Test Championship final on top, Team India failed to capitalise on the advantage and were bundled out for 217 in their first innings. Virat Kohli failed to add a single run to his overnight tally of 44 runs and was trapped by RCB teammate Kyle Jamieson, who set him up nicely by bowling a few outswingers and then brought one back in sharply, catching the Indian skipper by surprise. Despite gifting over the advantage to the opposition, India were hopeful of making early inroads into New Zealand’s innings but things didn’t go as per plan for Indian bowlers. Tom Latham and Devon Conway, much like what Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill did for India, played cautiously and batted for nearly 35 overs, adding 70 runs for the opening wicket. Acknowledging their effort, skipper Kohli, who was standing in the slips at the time, decided to motivate them by shaking a leg on the music beat. Virat Kohli dancing. Here's the clip. pic.twitter.com/yihJwoH6DU — Yash (@ABDxSRK) June 20, 2021 Watching Kohli enjoy his time in the middle was loved by most of the fans but there were a select few who questioned his casual body language, especially when the team was struggling for the first breakthrough. Not a single wicket and he is doing bhangra no shame left pic.twitter.com/nFuY2hLClH — Div (@div_yumm) June 20, 2021We the people of India are heavily involved in this game and doing all the superstitions and prayers for our win. Meanwhile our captain is dancing on the field like a monkey. Such a shame. #Kohli pic.twitter.com/zduhlpNJOA — Anuj (@Iamanujkdhiman) June 20, 2021The Indian skipper is known for his aggression on the field but it was good to see him enjoying his time out there in the middle and his supporters were quick to retaliate and slammed those who criticised him for his dancing. Wow , in which book it’s written you can’t dance if wicket isn’t fallen?? — PRÍŸÃŃŠH (@Pri7an45_MahiRo) June 20, 2021Bhai bande ko maze lene do na. You can't expect everyone to be serious all the time. And there are no indications that the match is lost. — Pranav Nambi (@PranavNambi) June 20, 2021Match abhi baaki hain mere dost! That's the way to enjoy the game. Everyone has their own way to lead their teams. — Shashank Mugali (@MugaliShashank) June 20, 2021Watching Kohli shake his leg, would have definitely boosted players’ morale as well as those supporting in the stands and motivated them to put in a little more extra effort into their job. It was not that Kohli wasn’t involved in the game as much as he should have been, he kept making bowling changes to unsettle both batsmen and, in the end, it worked out really well as Ravinchandran Ashiwn gave India the first breakthrough, and guess who took the catch? Yes! Virat Kohli. Flying Catch by Kohli #WTC21 pic.twitter.com/YKCkc7Dy2m — Alan ️ (@Kohlistic_18) June 20, 2021 Ashwin bowled a tossed up delivery and Latham took the bait and went for the drive but couldn’t beat Kohli at short cover, who took a sharp catch by jumping in the air. After getting the first breakthrough, Kohli kept experimenting with his field placements and bowling changes and it paid off as a slight lapse in concentration from Conway cost him his wicket. Conway flicked a leg-stump delivery from Ishant Shamrma straight into the hands of Mohammed Shami at wide mid-on. The Kiwis trail India by 116 runs with eight wickets in hand but the weather forecast is not too kind for the day. It is similar to what we had on the opening day and there is a high possibility of a complete washout. View the full article
  3. With social media fast evolving, the BCCI and its content creation team have also changed its approach of sharing information with the fans. The BCCI which was often criticised for its reluctance, unlike other cricket boards, to post the videos on its social media channels clearly seems to have taken note of high demand of its followers. With the Indian team currently playing an intra-squad match ahead of the World Test Championship final, the fans, in the absence of live telecast, are relying on the Indian board to provide them with the updates of how their favourite cricketers are performing in the build-up to the summit clash against New Zealand. How many of you guessed it right?#TeamIndia pic.twitter.com/7uXkaYaZ3g — BCCI (@BCCI) June 12, 2021 However, not every supporter was unhappy with the board, there were some who praised the hands behind BCCI’s Twitter handle and demanded his/her salary be hiked for doing such a tremendous job but soon he soon got an earful from other people who thought the BCCI still needed to do a lot, only then it could be worthy of such high praise. First let him get access to the YT channel too! — Jatin.Vats (@vats68) June 13, 2021 Poori highlights daalne me kaunsi maut aa rahi hai bcci ko — Khushi (@khushhay) June 12, 2021 Yaar BCCI itna content daal diya scorecard bhi daal do na please — Megha✯ (@_megha12_) June 12, 2021 Talking about the intra-squad game, Rishabh Pant blasted an unbeaten hundred, 121* off just 94 deliveries, and Shubhman Gill scored 85 off 135 balls on the opening day, while veteran pacer Ishant Sharma led the charge for Virat Kohli XI picking up three wickets for 36 runs. It's Day 2 of the intra-squad match simulation. The video began with Rahul, who is making a comeback after an injury, dancing down the track and hitting Ravindra Jadeja for a maximum, which ended with Saha pulling Shardul Thakur for a six. Highlights from Day 2 of the intra-squad match simulation here in Southampton #TeamIndia pic.twitter.com/Tm6RrQ4nnd — BCCI (@BCCI) June 13, 2021 With the final approaching, the team management is confused about what combination to go with against the Kiwis and if reports are to be believed, the tide is slightly tilted in favour of Mohammed Siraj, meaning star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja could end up warming the bench. The Jadeja supporters weren’t too happy about such reports and they even warned that it would be a disaster in waiting if Team India did indeed decide to drop the all-rounder out for the mega clash. 6. Coronavirus doesn't seem to be going anywhere, anytime soon. And the only thing we can do to keep it at an arm’s length, is to literally do exactly that at the very least. We all know how lightly people have been taking Covid-19 safety measures - right from ditching the masks to partying in large groups and traveling for leisure - people have been ignoring Covid precautions left, right and centre. © Paramount Pictures While many of us have resorted to ‘live with it’, it seems like actor Tom Cruise isn’t having any of it. An audio clip of Tom Cruise giving an earful to the crew on the set of Mission Impossible 7 has gone viral on social media and the reason behind the verbal bashing lies in the fact that Covid safety protocols were breached on the London set. Tom Cruise went full Les Grossman on the Mission: Impossible 7 crew for breaking COVID protocols https://t.co/88dgou18Qu pic.twitter.com/u9HjFpljOI — Icculus The Brave (@FirenzeMike) December 16, 2020 In the audio, the Hollywood star can be heard telling people they will be fired if they don’t follow the precautionary measures. Filled with expletives, Tom can be heard yelling at the top of his voice at those who were taking things lightly. © Paramount Pictures He went so far as to remind them how much people have struggled due to the industry shutdown due to the pandemic, and how flouting the rules is going to jeopardize the future of so many people due to illness and unemployment if the Covid situation worsens once again and the industry is forced to close down for a second time. © Paramount Pictures Reports state that Mission Impossible 7 was one of the first movies to stop production in February due to the pandemic and resumed it only in September when the situation slightly improved. No wonder people aren’t complaining about a superstar yelling at his crew this time, because we all agree with what Tom had to say and understand why it was justified for him to lose his cool over it. 8. Every sportsperson, at some point in their career, eventually finds that opponent who goes on to establish themselves as their nemesis. No matter how hard they try, their nemesis always finds a way to upstage them. In the world of badminton, Saina Nehwal has found that nemesis in Tai Tzu-Ying. The Taiwanese shuttler had won 14 out of the 19 head-to-head clashes against Nehwal. Thus, when the Indian shuttler geared up to take on the world no. 1 in the quarterfinals of the All England Championships on 8th March, Nehwal knew she had to be at her prolific best to come out on top. Instagram/@nehwalsaina But, sadly, Nehwal was outplayed by the defending champion in the opening exchanges of the match. Starting the match on a high-tempo, Tai Tzu didn't allow the Indian shuttler to get into the game and some weak shots further added to Nehwal's misery. She was trailing 3-11 during the break in the first game when her husband Parupalli Kashyap gave the Indian shuttler an earful. "If you want to win the match, understand that you have to be disciplined. You're playing some stupid shots," Kashyap was quoted as saying, to Nehwal during the break, by India Today. Paying heed to her husband, Nehwal fought back hard and reduced the massive gap to 12-14 in the first game. Instagram/@nehwalsaina However, as Nehwal pressed on the gas, her opponent, too, upped the ante before running away with the first game 21-15. Following an early setback, Kashyap once again advised Nehwal to be more disciplined. "Control karke maar, last me maar rahi thi. Drop ko baar baar lift karke court open chod rahi thi (Control the shuttle and go for the shots, like you did in the end. You were lifting the drop shots again and again and leaving your court open)," Kashyap said. "She (Tai Tzu) wants to keep the points short, you can't play into her hands. Be disciplined, she will play strokes and open the court for you and then you can go for your shots. You have to play her that way otherwise it's difficult," he added while directing his wife. Reuters But, Kashyap's advice was just not good enough to beat Tai Tzu who eventually sealed the 37-minute clash with a convincing scoreline of 15-21, 19-21. It was Nehwal's 13th straight defeat against the Taiwanese who has not lost against the Indian shuttler since 2015.
