ADMIN posted a blog entry in FDF Online News'Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil, and Vile' - the name of the movie about Ted Bundy precisely sums up the serial killer but some people are not sure about his portrayal in it. As soon as the trailer of the much-anticipated movie starring Zac Efron as the notorious killer dropped, people had concerns about the makers trying to humanize Ted Bundy and turning it into an almost rom-com, instead of showing him as a cold-blooded murderer, who killed 30 or more women. It's here! First Teaser Trailer for #ExtremelyWickedShockinglyEvilAndVile pic.twitter.com/AyHc3J26jC — Zac Efron (@ZacEfron) January 25, 2019 The main concern comes from the glorification of his crimes and how it would affect the people who were impacted by his crimes. However, a lot of people argued that Ted Bundy was supposed to be this charming, charismatic guy and that's exactly how he got so many of his victims. While no one can judge the movie by just its trailer, everyone agreed that the music was too inappropriate and made it seem like a superhero movie instead of a creepy crime story. Here's what everyone's saying: Yep, the music was bad. That music choice was awful. It should be creepy. People should feel disgusted watching this trailer. You already ruined people's first impressions on the movie... ð https://t.co/NNDTkAfcC2 — syzahmd (@syaza_hamid_) January 27, 2019 Is it romantic, tho? I feel so bad for the families of the victims that have to sit there and see their terrors revived as a witty romantic thriller https://t.co/uP4y03XSBU — anime yitties (@peachesfrfr) January 26, 2019 He was a monster, for sure. i mean it looks good but why the music? this film is portraying a literal serial killer that existed and did horrible things in real life at least make it seem that way instead of romanticizing a monster. https://t.co/uGKbl67eC1 — Nah (@Jullian1402) January 27, 2019 Way to go. The music makes me feel ill. How you gonna play fucking action music with a film about ted bundy who raped and killed "over 30, perhaps as many as over 100" women. Barely touches on it in the trailer lol. Way to go https://t.co/we8aH2HOe0 — eva i guess (@evaiguess) January 27, 2019 Just read the title to see how horrible he was. why did they market this like it's a super hero movie and not a movie about someone who kills humans for fun. https://t.co/Wb2sfU5WJb — honeybð (@KalliyahDejesus) January 27, 2019 Anyone could be a serial killer, tbh. Yall fr getting mad because they're showing what he was like instead of maybe thinking that not all serial killers look like monsters and they actually could be the cute neighbor? None's gonna think of him as daddy while watching him drag a corpse, use your head https://t.co/C0PzS0nNh4 — KTH1/TXT/ITZY are coming (@idlearity) January 26, 2019 Can't assume that, obviously. I feel that casting a teenage hearthrob as a serial killer was to really show that even the most charismatic normal ones can be sadistic,,,that being said the music for this trailer was a horrible choice, although one can't just assume jovial will be the tone of the film. https://t.co/3K8NddkECo — professional whiner (@shalini_vs_) January 26, 2019 The movie's director came out to clear some things. Exactly! https://t.co/V9KsCxldh6 — Joe Berlinger (@joeberlinger) January 26, 2019 I don't see it. and in this moment, watching the ted bundy tapes, i realized just how spot on casting zac efron as ted bundy was......this is unsettling pic.twitter.com/07lsdQBDZW — JOANNA (@Jobazzle) January 24, 2019 Exactly. Zac Efron as Ted Bundy is kinda perfect casting cause you can't believe that he could possibly play a terrifying serial killer in the same way that you couldn't have looked at Ted Bundy and believed that he *was* a terrifying serial killer. https://t.co/kew3IpkvVf — John Squires (@FreddyInSpace) January 25, 2019 We can never ever forget Troy Bolton. Instead of sexualizing zac Efron as ted bundy, let's applaud him for being such a great actor and being able to go from playing a singing basketball player to a serial killer — Liz (@ultralizzete) January 27, 2019 Okay, this is just bad usage of words. "Ted bundy isn't being romanticized!" : pic.twitter.com/o6RWqnVOMS — Savannah Clemmons (@savclemm) January 27, 2019 Couldn't agree more. why is everyone saying ted bundy is cute when he looks like human shrek pic.twitter.com/a8PlKgi0Ys — yeehaw (@sluttydonutts) January 27, 2019 It's sad that it will for sure happen. Can we not sexulize Ted Bundy? He raped, murdered, and decapitated women and had *** with their dead bodies. Not here for this hyper-sexualized Zac Efron film. I know the youth of twitter will obsess over him, and I'd prefer not to read thirst tweets about a serial murderer — Kayla Stetzel (@KaylaStetzel) January 26, 2019 While sexualizing him online is wrong on so many levels, this is just spot on. Ted Bundy: *used his charm to lure his victims* Film about Ted Bundy: *shows his charm* People on the internet: how DARE They romanticise a murderer of women who MURDERED WOMEN!?!?!? — Taylor (@finejostens) January 27, 2019 A much deeper point. People thinking Ted Bundy is being "romanticized" by using a hot actor is exactly the problem with us - it is hard to accept someone as good looking as Zac Efron as capable of evil. That's called the "Halo Effect", and celebs, good-looking people, politicians get away coz of that — Albert Pagunsan (@albert_pagunsan) January 28, 2019 Yep. ted bundy is portrayed as a handsome and charming serial killer because...he was handsome and charming serial killer...pic.twitter.com/z2r89gvYPl — spare ts7 ma'am 𤲠(@moneyinabag) January 28, 2019 I'm so here for Ted Bundy-Zac Efron memes. Police: How many people did you kill? Ted Bundy: pic.twitter.com/QXSxoERf3x — Jack (@jacket_lunch) January 28, 2019 And, not Troy. t as in ted bundy 𤪠pic.twitter.com/0SYJlwIENb — ðð¶ð (@pharangry) January 27, 2019
