  1. Here's some excellent news from India's green brigade! The government is going to make efforts to go absolutely electric where vehicles are concerned and they're starting this with the two and three-wheeler vehicles. The government has decided to make electric vehicles a mandate in certain categories, and judging by the alarming pollution levels in the country, there couldn't be a better decision made than that. Right now, though, the transitional categories include three and two-wheeler vehicles with the engine capacity up to 150cc. © Twitter The decision was made by a recent government panel which was set up and with effect to April 2023, a mandate of sale of only of electric two and three-wheelers, with an engine capacity of 150cc will be put into place and by 2025, it will be made mandatory. The basic mandate is to convert two of the highest selling automotive segments in India to electric, to reduce any form of carbon emissions and, of course, encourage the usage for electric vehicles more prominently in the country. © Indiatimes A similar mandate might take place for school and city buses soon as well, but for now, the focus remains on smaller vehicles, that will be up for change. For now, the government has made the vehicles in this category BS-VI compliant, by taking the current expenditure on the vehicles in this category. The makers are rightfully getting about 4-6 years of transitioning their vehicles in order for them to gain profit from such compliant vehicles. The efforts to increase the usage of electric vehicles in the future comes with another aspect to it. While converting most 2 and 3-wheeler vehicles to EV, the government will also put effective fuel efficiency norms for petrol and diesel vehicles, increasing their price and hence making it a less viable option for the consumers to purchase, in order to have them on the road lesser. To make this work, the power ministry will be creating a framework for carbon credit trading mechanism, as an addition to Corporate Average Fuel Efficiency (CAFE) norms. The idea is to encourage automakers to produce more and more electric vehicles. The transport ministry is working alongside this project as well and they propose to make a step-wise transition for all the vehicles to electric, by 2030, which will be a great step to curb pollution in India, particularly in Delhi. © Twitter Obviously the auto industry has a mixed reaction to this and they're asking for more incentives to transform their vehicles to electric, while many have started bringing their EV car offerings to India and there are already EV launches of major car makers in the country. One major blimp though is the present infrastructure to set up charging stations for these upcoming electric vehicles. The firms looking to establish these charging stations need to procure their licence from Japan, China and other nations. But recently, the Bureau of India Standards (BIS) and the Department of Science and Technology said they are working on an indigenous charging standard for India, making it easier to establish charging stations all over. Once these stations are in place, the costing of these stations will definitely come down, enabling more such setups, for a lesser cost, across the country. © Twitter India's taking a big step toward a greener initiative and we hope the transition happens as smoothly as possible.
  2. 'Avengers: Endgame,' what a spectacle. If anyone tells you there's no way to end a 10+ year story with a single movie while giving everyone closure, just show them everything the MCU has done till date. But here, I'm not going to be talking about any of the countless other things in the movie, I'm going to be focused on just one person, Steve Rogers. If there is anyone in the world who deserved a happy ending, it was this guy. Okay, before I delve deeper into this here's your mandatory spoiler warning. If you haven't watched the movie yet, don't read ahead till you do. If you have watched it, you absolutely must read ahead. Also, I understand how important Tony Stark and Robert Downey Jr. have been to this franchise. It's just that, for me, Captain America has way more impact… Source: Marvel Studios Now with nothing to disturb me I can finally get down to business. Remember that little guy in 'Captain America: The First Avenger?' No no, remember the Human Torch from 'Fantastic Four?' Yeah, that guy made me cry with one of the most epic scenes in cinema I've ever witnessed. Everyone knows Captain America is perhaps the purest among the Avengers. But is he worthy of carrying Mjolnir? Hell yeah. Not just carrying, but using it like a freaking legend. Watching him channel the lightning like he's been doing it for years is an image that's been implanted in my brain and will probably never fade away. (At least not for a while. :p) While writing about it, I couldn't help but replay it in my head another 10 times. This music only helps make it better. There's just one huge problem. Now, you'll want to watch it again. I already have tickets for Saturday and Sunday too. But, what about you? If you can't get anything before next week, come back on Sunday. I'll have a complete breakdown of the movie out. You can live vicariously through me. It doesn't cost anything. Source: Marvel Studios Moving on, all eyes are on Iron Man and he may just be the focus of every single discussion around you but, for me, it's Captain America who had the greatest effect. Is he the strongest Avenger? No. Is he a big, green, unkillable giant? No. Does he understand Quantum Physics? No. Why him then? He's their leader. He's the First Avenger. He's the man everyone rallies behind. It was pretty clear when he was standing alone in front of Thanos and his army that this guy was not going to back down even when nothing was in his favour. Luckily for him, he had a lot of people backing him up when he needed them but he had no idea they were coming. Once they did, who better to say the two words everyone has been dying to hear, 'Avengers Assemble' that the ultimate Avenger? Source: Marvel Studios But forget everything else, when all is said and done. The one scene which has had the most impact on me in all my years of existence is when Captain America grabs hold of Mjolnir. It brought tears of joy to my eyes. Seeing such a powerful scene really made my day. Captain America, just a guy from Brooklyn, was found worthy by a mythical hammer created for the Gods. Boy was he worthy…
  3. Four years after its original announcement, Aston Martin's first all-electric car is finally here. The company's Rapide sedan called the “Rapide E” made its debut at the Shangai Auto Show yesterday. Aston Martin didn't announce a price for the car, but it said only 155 Rapide E cars will ever be made. However, do you know what are we most excited about? To see Agent 007 drive the new all-electric car in the next Bond movie. For those of you who don't know, Aston Martin cars and James Bond movies have a huge history. Aston Martin's relationship with the 007 franchise began in 1964 when Sean Connery drove a DB5 sports car in Goldfinger. Well, if the reports are something to go by, the upcoming 25th James Bond (https://www.mensxp.com/special-features/james-bond-lifestyle/7551-10-best-james-bond-outfits.html) movie will see our 007 agent drive the new Rapide E. Of course, there's a lot of swift action sequences in the movie, and we think it's about time to put our agent in a zero-emission vehicle. © Aston Martin The new Rapide E is a powerful machine. It's powered by an 800-volt, 65kWh battery, which Aston Martin says will be able to travel over 200 miles on a single charge. The car has a twin motor fitted on the rear axle, which can generate 450kW and can get the car up to a top speed of 155 miles per hour. Also, the new Aston Martin Rapide E can go from 0 to 60 miles in under four seconds. The car is packed with a lot of other gizmos like a 10-inch digital instrument cluster behind the steering wheel, an 8-inch display mounted atop the centre of the dashboard, and more. The new Rapide E was said to hit the road in 2018, but there's no official word on its availability yet.

  5. While technically you can use your beard trimmer to shave you body hair as well - do you really want to do that? Just think about it for a second. 6. The first time we ever heard about a Harley Davidson electric motorcycle was way back in 2014 and since then it has been anticipated to debut soon. The project was dubbed as 'Project LiveWire' and has since got some design changes and will be one of the very few electric bikes to launch next year. © Harley Davidson The news comes from Harley-Davidson's future strategy to inspire the next generation of bikers. "The LiveWire will be the first bike that will have a no-clutch 'twist and go' system which has been designed to establish the company as the leader in the electrification of the sport," wrote the company in a press release. Of course, the images released by Harley Davidson is only a prototype and is not for sale yet. © Harley Davidson Since it is a prototype, it may undergo a few changes and have different features on the final outcome. The company is also working on two other electric bike models — one resembles a dirt-bike while the other looks more like a city commuter version. Both electric versions of the bike are expected to launch sometime in 2022. © Harley Davidson The company will continue to work on traditional non-electric bikes and the company plans to launch its first adventure touring model called the “the Pan America 1250” in 2020. The company will also be looking to launch a 975cc StreetFighter model for 2020. It seems like Harley Davidson has been busy with updating its current lineup as a "stripped down” styled motorcycle is also expected to launch by 2021 that will have 1250cc of power.
