  1. ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister of National Food Security and Research Khusro Bakhtiar said Sunday that the prevalent wheat crisis will be solved tomorrow (Monday). Bakhtiar was speaking during a press conference during which he said the crisis will be solved by Monday as the government currently had 4 million tonnes of wheat in its stock. He said that Sindh government's "late lifting" of the wheat from Pakistan Agricultural Storage and Services Corporation (PASSCO) had resulted in the artificial crisis taking place in the province. He said that the transport strike in the province made matters worse. "Sindh did not even procure a grain of wheat this year whereas their target was 700,000 tonnes," he said. "The NLC has gave 9,000 tonnes of wheat to the Sindh government only for Karachi. Today, they will provide 10,000 tonnes [of wheat]. "Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government was receiving 2,000 tonnes of wheat daily while Sindh was only lifting 150 tonnes," he added. Speaking about the flour crisis in KP, Bakhtiar said the Punjab government's food department noticed that wheat was being provided to KP "more than the necessary amount" saying that as checks and balances were introduced by the provincial government, it led to a "suspension in the supply chain". The federal minister said as flour mills open from Monday, wheat prices will start declining. He said about 40,000 metric tons of wheat were smuggled to Afghanistan per month and special measures were also made to check this smuggling to keep the supply smooth in local markets. Bakhtiar said a special helpline was also established to monitor the wheat supply in local markets and wheat procurement targets were also enhanced from six million tons to eight million tons to keep the strategic reserves for local requirements. To a question, he said incumbent government has attached higher priorities with the agriculture sector and initiated development projects worth Rs 300 billion to enhance the output of major crops including wheat.
  2. Not all movies that are deep in nature need to end on a sad note. Catharsis is sure a brilliant literary device which many movies use brilliantly as they make the audience cry and feel bad for the protagonist, but some sad movies do have a happy ending. Here are 5 movies which have a sob story but do end on a happy note. 1. Room A heartbreaking, life-affirming movie which follows the story of a mother and her young kid who, after years of confinement in a small room, manage to taste freedom. The movie makes you feel claustrophobic, sad and just uneasy at the same time but the ending gives you hope. 2. Masoom If this movie has not given you âthem feelsâ and made you drop a tear or two, then I donât know what else can or will. A small boy looking for his father and wanting to be accepted in a family he loves is what this movie is about. The movie will make you question how life can sometimes be cruel but the ending reminds you that eventually good things happen to good people. 3. Shawshank Redemption It is one of the best movies of all time and once you watch it, you will understand why. The story is based on a banker who is sentenced to life imprisonmetnt after being accused of murdering his wife and her lover. The ending with Red and Andy being together explains that when we think life has nothing to offer, it often surprises us with something much bigger. 4. Kabir Singh One of the most controversial movies of 2019 but also a sad one if one may call it. A bright doctor takes the help of alcoholism as a coping mechanism for his lost love. While the character is problematic in parts, one does feel sorry for his sad and traumatic state. When the two unite in the end, one does feel happy for them. True love does exist. 5. Tamasha Trust Imtiaz Ali to express emotions and show anyoneâs sentiments like no one else can make that happen. Two people trying to make a relationship work with different views in life. You feel sad for Ved but also relate to him on an intimate level. Eventually, when the two unite as his struggle to find his âtrue selfâ ends on a happy note, all is well in the end. 3. Photo: FileThe stock market closed on a positive note in the outgoing week as it scaled above 43,000 points despite geopolitical tensions arising due to the US-Iran conflict, dealers told The News and are expecting the market to sustain its recent upward momentum. Dealers also shared that the recent spiraling of tensions between Iran and the US led to a surge in oil prices and people also rushed to havens such as gold. However, the equity market showed resilience to the conflict, which suggests investors have become familiar with how messy situations could unlock other avenues of opportunity. Also read: Pakistani stocks recover slightly after US-Iran showdown scare Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) benchmark KSE100-shares index ended the week on gains of around 2.1 per cent or 885 points and closed at 43,207.05. Average Volumes settled at 303 million shares, up 8 by per cent on weekly basis, while average value traded clocked-in at 78 million dollars, up by 13 per cent on weekly basis. Foreign buying clocked-in at 7 million dollars, compared to last week’s net sell of 7.3 million dollars. Buying was witnessed in fertiliser sector was 5.9 million dollars and exploration and production sector gained 1.8 million dollars. On the domestic front, major selling was reported by mutual funds at 5.9 million dollars, and individuals at 4 million dollars. “The assassination of Iranian General Qasem Soleimani by US was followed by a sharp rise in global commodity prices and decline in global equity markets,” said Amreen Soorani from JS Capital. Also read: US stocks down amid geopolitical uncertainty However, President Donald Trump's speech midweek that addressed the current stance of US eased the tensions between the two countries. This boosted investor confidence, supporting a bounce back in the equity markets, and correction in commodity prices. “As the market broke through its key resistance levels this week, we believe the upwards trajectory may continue next week.Fundamentals appear intact with stable rupee, compressing current account deficit, and inflows in T-bills, PIBs and the local bourse, which bode well for the index,” said sn analyst from Arif Habib. “With macro-economic indicators improving and political volatility low, we expect the market to sustain its recent upwards momentum,” an analyst from Habib Metro-Financial Services said. “We recommend investors to find exposure in fundamentally sound scrips trading at attractive levels.” BMA Capital Management said the US-Iran tension has been largely resolved, reflection of which has also been witnessed in the markets across the globe. Also read: Stocks end week on bearish note over cross-border tensions Furthermore, ample domestic and fresh foreign liquidity would likely set the pace of KSE-100 towards the year-end target of 55,000 points. In upcoming weeks, earnings season is expected to guide the market sentiments. In terms of financial results, banking sector would likely outshine other sectors, with financial performance of cyclicals expected to remain disappointing.
  4. LAHORE: All Pakistan Transport Owners Federation (APTOF) on Thursday announced an end to the countrywide strike after successful negotiations were held with Punjab Governor Chaudhry Ghulam Sarwar who assured them that their issues will be resolved by the month's end. After a meeting was held between members of the transport alliance and the provincial government during which Sarwar convinced transporters that their issues will be resolved by January 31, the APTOF said they were ending the countrywide strike. The transporters went on strike today (Thursday) after the government announced imposition of heavy fines on violation of rules and regulations. Last year in November, the Federal Cabinet had given approval for a massive increase in fines on highways and motorways. An eight-member committee comprising representatives from the government and the transport alliance have been formed to solve the crisis that was caused by the government's act of imposition of heavy fines. Sarwar announced the release of all drivers and conductors who were arrested by police. "We are ending the strike after being given assurances [that the crisis will be solved] by the governor," he said. "We hope our problems will be solved soon." The government had decided to increase the fine which was Rs750 across the board for every violation to Rs1,500 for motorbikes found guilty of overspeeding, Rs2,500 for cars, Rs5,000 for trucks and Rs10,000 for public service vehicles, according to a report. Other fines included Rs1,500 if motorcycles and cars were found to be overtaking other vehicles. While those car drivers and motorcyclists who are found taking a wrong U-turn would have had to pay Rs1,000, while heavy vehicles would have been fined Rs3,000. Federal Minister for Communications and Postal Services Murad Saeed had announced in parliament that the government had taken back the decision to impose heavy fines after the strike. Murad had said the government had taken the decision to bring down the number of accidents to 50 percent.
  5. âFloat like a butterfly, sting like a bee,â although this phrase was introduced to us by the all-time great Muhammad Ali, it is also the best way to describe the now 46-year-old Leander Paes - humble in his words, so joyous to talk to, and full of experience at the top level. I first met the star at a sports award show a couple of years ago. He was being honoured with the âLifetime Achievementâ award for a professional career spanning 29 years. 29 years of winning everything there was to win. Eight doubles and ten mixed doubles Grand Slams including the historic 6â7, 6â3, 6â4, 7â6 win with partner Mahesh Bhupathi at the 1999 Wimbledon final and Paes will still greet you with so much warmth and affection and will always be the first to introduce himself, as if the world did not know who he was. If you get the opportunity to be in the legendâs vicinity when he is talking about his parents and how they created a sense of discipline in his life, consider yourself to be lucky. The way Paes articulates even the smallest of the details of his journey, the way he talks about the most important episodes of his life with a smile on his face will make you admire how unique yet how humble this athlete is. He may not be the skinniest guy on the court, heâd definitely not be the most athletic either , but the man covered all of it up with his heart. He will burn himself out to chase the farthest of shots. Every point mattered the same to him and nothing seemed to be impossible until the ball bounced twice. âIn the semis I meet Leander Paes, from India. Heâs a flying jumping bean, a bundle of hyperkinetic energy, with the tourâs quickest hands. Still, heâs never learned to hit a tennis ball. He hits off-speed, hacks, chips, lobs â heâs the Brad of Bombay. Then, behind all his junk, he flies to the net, covers so well that it seems to work. After an hour, you feel as if he hasnât hit one ball cleanly â and yet heâs beating you soundly. Because Iâm prepared, I stay patient, stay calm, and beat Paes 7-6 6-3.â This is how former world No. 1 and all-time great, Andre Agassi described his first encounter with a then 23-year-old Paes in the semi-final of the 1996 Atlanta Olympics. âHe hit like maybe 25 drop shots. Thatâs strange. But just because he plays strange doesnât mean itâs not good. Itâs just strange,â Agassi added. Iâll never get over this day. Just another boy who believed he could. But it took a LOT more than just belief. Look Dada, now we can finally sit on the same table as two Olympic champions I earned that for you, me, for our people and for our country. It feels GOOD pic.twitter.com/y9AHyM87JZ â Leander Paes (@Leander) August 3, 2019 It was also during the same tournament that Agassiâs father Mike told Dr Vece Paes (Leanderâs dad): âAmazing. My boy is supposed to play well, but your boy has been playing this week like a Top 4 player.â Courage and the will to take on the most renowned tennis superstars of the world is what the story of Paesâ career is all about. #OneLastRoar pic.twitter.com/WwALCVF5LO â Leander Paes (@Leander) December 25, 2019 And now that the Calcuttan has decided to have that âone last roarâ before saying goodbye to the sport, there is nothing but immense pride and honour in the hearts of his people. There is no greater way to sign off than this. This is the legacy of Leander Paes, and it is as magnanimous as he is. View the full article
  6. MOSCOW: Russia and Japan´s foreign ministers met on Thursday to try and find a solution to a territorial dispute that has prevented them from signing a formal WWII peace treaty. The Soviet Union seized the strategically located volcanic archipelago north of Japan´s Hokkaido in the final days of World War II and has maintained a military presence there ever since. It´s the third time in four months that Russia´s Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and his Japanese counterpart Toshimutsu Motegi have met. "The talks were constructive and substantial," said Lavrov after a meeting with his Japanese counterpart in Moscow. Atsushi Kaifu, a spokesman from Japan´s foreign ministry, said the discussions lasted for about five hours and focused on the peace treaty. "It was an intense and fruitful discussion," he said, adding, the foreign ministers would meet again on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference in February. Called the Kuril islands by Russia and the Northern Territories by Japan, talks to resolve the disputed territory stalled for decades due to Japan´s claim to the four strategic islands seized by the Soviet army in the final days of the war. The islands´ current population is around 20,000 people. Russia has had military bases on the archipelago since WWII and has deployed missile systems on the islands. President Vladimir Putin and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe have met many times to try to find a way to break the impasse. The pair have discussed joint economic activity in the region. "The most important thing is that we want to find a solution," Putin said on Thursday during his annual press conference, praising "trusting relations" with Tokyo. But he questioned if a solution could be found to appease public opinion in both countries.
  7. The 13th edition of the South Asian Games ended on a high for the Indian contingent that broke their own record in medal tally with 312 medals against the other nations of the region like Nepal, Sri Lanka and Pakistan. With 174 golds, 93 silvers and 45 bronze earned between December 1 and December 10, Team India maintained their top-level stature in the regional games ever since its inception back in 1984. India sets new record! India create a new record at the #SouthAsianGames with as they reach 312 medals, three more than their tally in 2016. India won 174 golds, 93 silver and 45 bronze medals. Sona ka Punch!ð¥ It is a ð¯show for Indiað®ð³ as the women boxers pick up goldð¥Here are the winners! -@boxer_pinkij -@SoniaLatherBoxe -#ManjuBamboriya #PunchMeinHaiDum#boxing pic.twitter.com/MtnKRfzXFH — Boxing Federation (@BFI_official) December 10, 2019 Even though this is a phenomenal achievement and the athletes worked hard day in and out to represent their country on such a high stage to win and earn medals, the reality of the Indian contingent as a whole might not be as rosy as it looks. Sure, the overall medal tally went up since 2016 but the number of gold medals between 2016 and 2019 has depreciated by 15. Another important aspect of the 2019 South Asian Games is that this edition had 75 more medal events offering 225 medals more than the previous edition. So, when you look at the percentage of India's medal earnings this year, it has gone down by approximately 10 percent. This turns out to become a bigger cause of worry for the Indian sports fraternity especially as the 2020 Olympics, which is to be held in Tokyo, is just eight months away. If we have learnt anything from our past it is that regardless of how many miles ahead of competition India has been in the South Asian region in sports, we have always ended up disappointed at the greatest stage of them all. © Reuters If we are letting our dominance at the regional level fade away too, well then, where does that make us stand on a global level? “I will not take names but if an Indian athlete, who comes from a very humble background, is given crores of rupees for winning one Asia-level medal, why would they want to put their body through the torture of daily practice for higher levels of competition,” Divesh Bhal, an Athletics Federation of India official, had told MensXP in September. “Sometimes, they lose motivation (after winning an Asia-level medal) and it happens too much within Indian athletics," he said. And this happens every single time. Once an athlete wins a medal at the Asian or South Asian level, the hunger to win an Olympic gold somehow dies off and that's the mentality that makes us fail to bring podium finishes, much less a gold medal. 8. Prime Minister Imran Khan. Photo: FilePrime Minister Imran Khan on Tuesday reiterated calls for an end to India’s gross abuse and oppression of Kashmiris.“On Human Rights Day, we must appeal to the world's conscience, to upholders of international law and to the United Nations Security Council to act against the illegal annexation of Indian occupied Kashmir (IOK)by the Indian occupation government,” PM Imran tweeted. “We salute and stand resolutely with the brave Kashmiris struggling for their right of self-determination,” he added.Occupied Kashmir has been under military curfew since August 5, when Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi revoked the constitutional autonomy of the region and arrested thousands of people. Since the annexation, New Delhi has also enforced a near complete communications blackout by blocking internet and telecommunication services in the disputed territory.‘Govt committed to protecting the rights of all citizens’In a separate tweet, PM Imran assured that his government remains committed to the protection of the rights of all citizens without discrimination. “On International Human Rights Day, Muslims need to remember that the message of equality, justice and protection of human rights for all was given more than 1400 years ago by our Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him),” the premier said. The prime minister added that the message of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)"embodied the cardinal principles of respect for human rights and human dignity".The premier said his government was committed to the protection of human rights for all citizens as preached by Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), especially in his last sermon.World Human Rights Day is observed every year on December 10, the day the United Nations General Assembly adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in 1948.
  9. This December, people are not saying goodbye to the year, but the entire freaking decade. The 2010s are ending and it's making everyone look back and reflect how much everyone and everything has changed in these last ten years. That's why it's not surprising that the biggest trend on Twitter right now is a comparison between people in 2010 to people now, basically a beginning of the decade vs end of the decade moment. Actually seeing how so many celebrities changed so much in this decade is kind of weird and also very nostalgic, in a way. It's been a long, long decade and everything is so different now. 12. I feel like, at this point in time, getting a role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is the biggest flex for an actor but it wasn't always like that. It's weird to think that some of our favourite Marvel actors actually thought becoming a superhero would end their careers. Recently, BFFs Chris Evans and Scarlet Johansson sat down for a conversation for Variety's Actors on Actors series and talked about everything from their decade-long Marvel experience to their upcoming movies. With so much going on in the entire episode, we thought we would just get some highlights out of it, and the biggest one is, obviously, how both of them feared joining the MCU back in the day. Scarlet joined the MCU almost at the very beginning with Iron Man 2 and at that time, Marvel's ambitious multi-movie narrative was barely starting out. Talking about her initial hesitation on taking the role of Natasha Romanoff, she talked about how easily this could've been a career-ending move if it hadn't worked out. She said, "You don't know how it's gonna go. It seems ridiculous now because of how successful the Marvel stuff is, but it could be, like, career-ending. It felt like that at the time, if it went the wrong way." While her concerns are valid, of course, but now we can just laugh at the irony of it all. Imagine if she had passed on the Black Widow role, I don't think anyone would've had a bigger regret in life than that. It has always been widely known that Chris Evans turned down the role of Steve Rogers multiple times before actually coming on board. It wasn't just the two of them, but back then, while filming The Avengers, the entire cast felt the pressure. The first Avengers movie a bigger crossover than anything ever at that time, the cast feared it could easily go wrong. She said, "When we went on to do Avengers, the first one, all of us were totally... I think everybody was feeling very uneasy about the concept. It was just so absurd." Absurd, but brilliant. Even Chris agreed about how much was at stake with that movie. He said, "It was a big, big endeavour. This is it, this is the moment. If this doesn't work, this pipe dream that we've been hearing about could derail very quickly." While the movie was quite ambitious, given the success of all the individual Marvel movies, I would think that it was pretty clear that The Avengers would be a huge success. Moving on, Chris also talked about - or was forced to talk about - the most important question every Marvel fan has for him - is he ever going to pick up that shield again? (or maybe, Mjolnir also now) He obviously didn't give a straight answer and kept it very, very vague. He said, "You know, you never say never. I love the character. It's not a hard no but it's not an eager yes either. There's other things I'm working on right now." He went on, "I think Cap had such a tricky arc to stick the landing and I think they did a really nice job letting him complete his journey. If you're gonna revisit it, it can't be a cash-grab, it can't be just because audiences would be excited. A lot of things would have to come together. It doesn't feel at this time like that would be the thing that I'm looking to do." So, there you have it, we're not getting Chris as Cap again, not anytime soon, at least. View the full article
  13. It's no secret that Apple has been rumoured to be working on the next iteration of the AirPods. It was reported earlier that the new AirPods will launch sometime next year. Now, however it seems like it will come sooner than that. The new AirPods are rumoured to be called the AirPods Pro and will have a noise-cancelling feature as reported earlier. © SlashLeaks A new report by China Economic Daily suggests that Apple will be releasing the AirPods Pro later this month. It is expected to cost $260 (~Rs 18,500) and will also have basic water resistance for gym use. Earlier, the design of the upcoming AirPods was leaked and it shows that the overall design language will remain the same with subtle changes. It was also disclosed in the iOS 13.2 beta and the same update also had a tutorial about how users can adjust the noise cancellation on the new AirPods. © Twitter/RieplhuberGD The new AirPods will compete with Amazon's newly announced Echo Buds and the upcoming Pixel Buds. The noise cancellation feature on truly wireless earphones is expected to work similarly to the Sony WF- 1000XM3. It will adapt the sound in the earphones according to your surroundings and will block out ambient noise when needed. Sony uses its own 'Headphones' app to enable the feature and it will be interesting to see how Apple will implement its version of noise cancellation on the AirPods Pro. Of course, there is no certainty whether the earphones will launch later this month even though there are have been rumours of Apple hosting an event in October. Having said that, we are now approaching the end of the month and it looks highly unlikely. Source: China Economic Daily
  14. The Pakistan cricket team is probably the most unpredictable thing about the ICC World Cup 2019, which begins in a couple of days in England & Wales. While their loss to a team like Afghanistan in their warm-up games shows just how bad the team can be, they consist of a few extremely talented players who can take Pakistan cricket to a new high, maybe even get their first ever World Cup victory against the Indian cricket team. Here are the five key players of the team who can win it all for the cricket-crazy nation: 1. Babar Azam © Reuters Referred to as the “Virat Kohli of Pakistan”, Babar Azam plays like the Indian skipper too. At the age of 24, Azam easily dominated some of the deadliest of bowlers on the current time in Dale Steyn, Kagiso Rabada and Duanne Olivier at the Proteas' home ground in South Africa a couple of months ago and seems to never lose his form with the bat. In his career in adolescence, Azam has scored 2544 runs in just 62 ODIs which includes 8 tons and 11 half-centuries. In 2019, Azam has batted in 10 innings for his team and scored 472 runs with an average of 52.4 runs per innings. 2. Imam-ul-Haq © Reuters Being the nephew of Inzamam-ul-Haq, Imam faced a lot of pressure during his introduction to international cricket during the U-19 Asia Cup in 2012. A fighter that he is, Imam has brought his flamboyant stroke-play to every match that he has played ever since. His debut for the national team of Pakistan occurred in 2017 against Sri Lanka, in which he not only chased the total and won the match but also struck his first ODI hundred. Imam's ODI journey has seen him play in 27 games while scoring a total of 1381 runs including his career's best single-inning performance, a 151 against the World Cup 2019 hosts a couple of weeks ago. 3. Fakhar Zaman © Reuters Probably as unpredictable as the Pakistan team, Fakhar Zaman is the opening batsman who will either bring you runs in big bundles or will not bring them at all. The series against England was the perfect example of his uncertainty as a batsman. Having said that, when he does stick to the crease, there is no force in the cricketing world that could stop him from getting a half-ton for his side. In his career, Zaman has featured in 34 ODIs, putting up 1585 runs on the board with a decent strike rate of 97.83 through his career. He has batted in 10 ODI innings this year and scored 367 runs. 4. Hasan Ali © Reuters While the team, which was once feared for their bowling attack, is now in search for some good bowlers themselves, 24-year-old Hasan Ali is probably the best they have heading into the World Cup, who's reverse swing with a slightly-used ball has got him some important wickets throughout his career. Ever since his 2016 debut in the ODI format of the game, Ali has scalped 78 wickets in just 47 matches with an economy rate of 5.56. 2019 has been a little expensive for the bowler as he has given an average of six runs per over in the past five months while collecting only five wickets. 5. Asif Ali © Reuters Pakistan's bravest athlete, Asif Ali faced a tragic loss in his personal life when cancer took away his two-year-old daughter from him a week ago. Aware of his duties towards the team and his fans, Asif returned to England to join the squad yet again before they take on West Indies on 31st May 2019. Stepping onto the crease at the number seven spot, Ali is known for hitting it strong and long on command. Ali has mustered 342 runs in the 16 games that he has played in the ODI format with a fierce strike rate of 131.03. In 2019, two of the four ODIs that he was a part of saw him raising his bat in the air for half-tons scoring 142 in total this year.
  15. This article contains heavy spoilers. Proceed with caution. If you see Bran's character arc, it's risen tremendously from how he was portrayed in Season 1, till the most recent Season, where he's named king of the six realms. But if you think about it, his journey wasn't just another teenager who finds true meaning in life and becomes the Three-Eyed-Raven. He was very carefully orchestrating and plotting his own storyline, which in all probability, was highly overshadowed from the rest of us. © HBO When the gang of survivors were holding a discussion as to who the next king should be, everyone unanimously decided upon Bran. Tyrion, of course, gave his two cents on why Bran should be the ruler of the 7 kingdoms and with a common consensus, Bran was named king of the 6 kingdoms, giving Sansa complete autonomy to rule the North on her own. Right after he was appointed king, Tyrion asked Bran if he wanted it and Bran said: ''why do you think I've come all this way"? That statement might have been something we missed delving deeper into but come to think of it, it's a pretty loaded statement, which could tell us that Bran had been planning taking over the realm since the beginning! Or since he became the Three-Eyed-Raven, who actually wanted to lead and rule all, according to some theories. © HBO But, let's fish out some actual facts on why Bran could be the ultimate villain who was silently rooting for the throne, for himself. First off, Bran knows everything that has happened and will happen in the future. We're not sure how far he can see into the future but it's a sufficient amount to predict things that may happen and avoid the things that shouldn't. The very fact that he let most things happen, even though he could have stopped them is highly suspicious. For example, if he knew Euron was going to attack Daenerys' fleet, he could have asked her to change her strategy, but he didn't. He kept quiet until Dany lost one of her dragon's in Euron's attack. For someone who 'sees' everything, this seemed quite intentional. © HBO Next, let's look at the Night King's death. I agree that episode 3 of 'Game of Thrones' Season 8 was absolutely haywire, where nothing made sense. Not just the fact that almost everyone survived the army of the dead and that the Night King died, frivolously, after 7 Seasons of absolute build-up, also that his death seemed very inferior compared to how he was shown or talked about in the show. But, keeping that bit aside, Bran warged into the ravens during the war and we never really figured out what he was trying to do. They never showed the part where his warging helped out the war in any way possible. Popular fan theories suggest that Bran cooked up a deal with the Night King, which lured him towards Bran, and since Bran had given Arya the Valyrian Steel dagger earlier, he knew the NK's actual fate. There was no form of expression or relief on Bran's face when Arya killed the Night King. © HBO Also, if you think about it, Bran giving the Valyrian Steel dagger to Arya, which foreshadowed the Night King's death and telling Samwell, Arya and Sansa about Jon's true lineage and not letting out anything else, is a great tactic. This way, he made sure his claim to the throne was intact, getting rid of his enemies one by one. Arya killed the Night King with the dagger Bran gave her and everyone knew Jon was a Targaryen after Bran revealed it, which led to Dany losing her mind towards the end, and eventually dying for it. And that's how Bran got rid of two tough contenders, one by one. And while the two wars were taking place, Bran took a back seat and watched things unfold. Things he'd set in motion himself. Very clever Bran! How did the #NightKing change Craster's babies? By touching them. How did he change Viserion? By touching it. What did Bloodraven say to #BranStark in the cave? "He touched you."#foodforthought#nightking #GameofThrones — Vladimir Furdik (@Vladimir_furdik) 28 April 2019 Which is actually true. Even though Bran met the NK earlier through a vision, the NK had touched him and left his mark. Did Bran change post that and wished to take control over everything else and discovered his evil-dark side? The fifth episode of Season 8 also has an interesting fan theory. Dany had decided to withdraw if and when King's Landing rang the bells in surrender. But even after the bells were rung, she went Dracarys on the entire kingdom! Earlier, if you see Dany, while the bells are ringing, she is looking towards the Red Keep where Cersei is standing, making it seem like she's going to charge towards Cersei and kill her and destroy just the Red Keep. But she ends up destroying the entire city. Now, the theory states that Bran probably warged into Drogon, Dany's dragon, and burnt the city down to ashes. © HBO Not once did they show Dany's face when Drogon was spitting fire. Maybe he wasn't in her control and was doing whatever he wanted because his consciousness had been taken over by Bran. There's also a shot of Drogon's shadow over King's Landing when he's spewing fire and it's identical to the vision Bran had a few seasons ago, which could also amount to something. And if Drogon was spitting fire recklessly while Dany was confused about his actions, it could just mean that Dany, in all probability, wasn't the Mad Queen after all and that Bran is just pure evil! © HBO While all these are just theories, they do give us something to think about. How can someone, who sees the future and knows the past never strategise during a big war? How was he always quiet? Why was no one consulting him on what to do next? Why didn't anyone else consider Jon Snow, the true heir, for the throne? After an entire build up over his revelation of being a Targaryen and Bran's constant vision of Jon's birth at the Tower of Joy in Dorne, the throne eventually went to Bran. Isn't it quite strange? © HBO Well, I like to believe Bran played a great game and made everyone believe he is the rightful king, even though he is not and he knew it all along, especially when he uttered, "why do you think I've come all this way". Now, we aren't sure if he means he's come all this way from the North to be named king, or that he's always been plotting and planning for the throne, by being the Three-Eyed-Raven and has come all this way to take the throne. We'll never truly know! But let's see what George RR Martin has in store for us, through his upcoming books!
  16. Sadly, most theories and prophecies didn't work in 'Game of Thrones', as we saw a rather clustered final season, with a lot of loose ends, that did not even make sense. Even so, towards the bittersweet end, the fog finally settled and things played out as and how they had to. But truly, if 'Game of Thrones' has taught us anything, it's how prophecies don't always come true even though they've been predicted by a reliable source. For instance, the infamous Valonqar prophecy, where Cersei was told by a fortune teller that her younger brother would eventually strangle her to death, didn't see the light of day. Although, all the other predictions Maggy the Frog had made, came true eventually. Cersei lost all her children but she died with Jaime when the Red Keep structure collapsed on them. (c)HBO Just like the Valonqar prophecy, the show emphasised a lot on the 'Prince That Was Promised' as well. The prophecy entailed a reincarnated form of the folklore warrior Azor Ahai, who ended the long night and brought light into the world, again. Azor Ahai killed the White Walkers in the past, by forging a sword by the name of 'Lightbringer' and brought in an era of peace and tranquillity. In a conversation with Ser Davos, Melisandre once stated: “There will come a day after a long summer when the stars bleed and the cold breath of darkness falls heavy on the world, In this dread hour, a warrior shall draw from the fire a burning sword. And that sword shall be Lightbringer, the Red Sword of Heroes, and he who clasps it shall be Azor Ahai come again, and the darkness shall flee before him.” (c)HBO So, in all practicality, she was predicting Azor Ahai or the return of the 'Prince That Was Promised', to end the long night again. At first, we all concluded that Arya Stark could be the warrior reborn, as she was the one who killed the Night King in episode 3 of Season 8 but as the Season progressed, we saw the possibilities of that not being true. (c)HBO The final twist towards the end of the show reveals that perhaps Jon Snow actually fulfilled the Azor Ahai prophecy and could clearly be the 'Prince That Was Promised.' Let's go back many years, shall we? According to legend, when Azor Ahai became a warrior, he needed to forge a hero's sword to end the darkness. A sword that would burn bright, while being used on the enemy. He spent 30 days and 30 nights to create his 'Lightbringer'. But when he tempered his sword in water, it broke. He didn't give up that easy and started making it from scratch, again. This could metaphorically be seen as Jon gathering an army to defeat the Night King. Even though Arya killed the Night King, Jon assembled the resources to defeat him and his army. Coming back to Azor Ahai, the second time he tried to create the Lightbringer, he took fifty days and fifty nights to make the sword. To forge it properly, this time he tempered it by capturing a lion and driving the blade through his heart, but alas, the steel shattered again. (c)HBO Again, this could have a metaphorical angle as the lion here can refer to Cersei, the ruling queen, whose house sigil is indeed a lion. Even though Jon didn't kill Cersei, he did defeat her army and fought till the very end, till there were no Lannisters aka lions left in Kingslanding, except, of course, Tyrion. Again, getting back to Azor Ahai's third attempt to forge his sword, it wasn't too disappointing this time. He knew what he had to do to create the perfect blade. He worked straight for 100 days and 100 nights and finished it. This time though, he called his wife Nissa Nissa and asked her to bear her bosom. He drove the blade right through her heart, where the steel combined with her heart and her soul to create the ultimate sword the 'Lightbringer', the Red Sword of heroes, finally. The sword was as warm and lit as Nissa Nissa's heart. (c)HBO Now, going back and connecting the dots, Jon did something similar, for the greater good of the realm, to drive any evil away. He stabbed Dany right through her heart and protected the world from any darkness and fire, bringing in the light, so that the kingdoms could be ruled peacefully. Azor Ahai's prophecy also reads the following: “Once Azor Ahai fought a monster, when he thrust his sword through the belly of the beast its blood began to boil. Smoke and steam poured from its mouth, its eyes melted and dribbled down its cheeks and its body burst into flame.” (c)HBO In this case, after Jon kills Dany, the monster refers to the Iron Throne, which Drogon, Dany's dragon burnt down to ashes, as it was a monster of sorts that drove Dany towards the depth of madness and didn't bring her back. So, all in all, you can see that Jon's personality is somehow very synonymous to who Azor Ahai actually was, as Jon too made the ultimate sacrifice. Even though he was the rightful heir to the throne, he gave that up to let Dany rule the world. But when he saw grave injustice and her act of violence towards the end, he ended her life, someone he deeply loved, to protect the realm and making a world a better place to live in. (c)HBO It might not be everything that was prophesied, but there are similarities that do match up to what Azor Ahai did years ago and Jon selflessly, almost did the same. Well, we'll only know more once George RR Martin finishes his last two books, shedding some more 'light' on this prophecy.
  17. Warning: if you haven't seen 'The Bells', that is Season 8 Episode 5 of 'Game of Thrones', you probably shouldn't read ahead. Westeros was reduced to rubble so that Daenerys Targaryen could sit on the Iron Throne, making everyone question what is the point of anything at all? Who will she even rule if the people she would potentially lord over, don't even exist? © HBO But besides her, everyone else was visibly and significantly traumatised except maybe Greyworm, who was too busy avenging his girlfriend's death. © HBO Arya Stark came with a very specific purpose to King's Landing: murdering Cersei and crossing her off the list. Oh well, we know how well that turned out. © HBO But by the end of the episode, by the looks of it, she has probably escaped death again by an inch or so. And if Cersei is now not on her list, is she going to target Dany? Considering Melisandre's prophecy which also spoke of a certain someone with 'green eyes' that Arya was to shut forever, turns out Dany, ahem... fits the category. And here's how she definitely has the motive to kill Dany, now especially after trying to save Nora, the woman who was trying to protect her daughter. Nora and her daughter's death has significantly impacted Arya. Especially after seeing them being burnt alive by Drogon leaving their charred bodies still in the stupor in which they were trying to save themselves. She also realizes, not just the futility of this excessive violence, but the harrowing aftermath that is going to strike the survivors of the burnt city. She then encounters a half-burnt white horse that rescues her from the burning city. But here's the thing, the horse has a hidden symbolic meaning behind it: In the 'GoT' world, a pale horse is symbolic of the bloody flux of what those in Mereen refer to as dysentery that strikes people like the plague and kills hundreds in one strike, which can be further analysed as the face of Death. Not just 'Game of Thrones', the Bible too has a reference of a pale horse that represents impending death. © HBO In Revelations 6:8, a line reads: “I looked, and there before me was a pale horse! Its rider was named Death, and Hades was following close behind him.” But even if we assume that the show makers aren't influenced by Biblical notions on the show, there is evidence that suggests otherwise. In Season 2, Dany was warned about a pale mare amongst other things by a masked woman called Quaithe. In riddles, this woman told Dany, “To go north, you must go south…”. In the book, A Dance with Dragons, Quaithe warns Dany, “The glass candles are burning. Soon comes the pale mare, and after her the others. Kraken and dark flame, lion and griffin, the sun's son and the mummer's dragon. Trust none of them. Remember the Undying. Beware the perfumed seneschal." © HBO Clearly, there were a lot of people that Dany had to watch out for from Quaithe's tricky riddles, but something that starkly stands out now with all this context is the pale mare. But that's the thing about prophecies and 'Game of Thrones', they can be rather unpredictable and surprise us out of nowhere. But the looming connection of the pale mare and Arya is definitely noteworthy.
  18. Do you feel like absolute sh** when your favourite character from 'Game of Thrones' dies? It's legit to feel absolutely down in the dumps because you form a dynamic with each character and when they die, it's hard to process that because they make a significant mark in your life. That's what 'GOT' has been doing to people across the board and you can spend hours talking about how and why someone dies but still not find any respite whatsoever. © HBO 'Game of Thrones' has grown over us slowly and steadily, over the last 8 years and we're slowly realising the end is near and we will have to let go every aspect of it soon. Of course the memories from the show will stay but it's almost like we need a constant support group to let them all go and someone's made a worthy effort to make sure we have a proper grievance platform for our favourite show. With a week left for the series to roll out its finale, it's going to be an emotional rollercoaster and we terribly hope this helpline can really help.
  19. The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) is one of the most well-renowned engineering institutions of India and is known to add a little bit of fun to its gruelling study-structure from time to time, in order to prevent the students from getting overwhelmed. However, when the teaching staff of the Institute decided to add the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) season to their end semester exam of Material and Energy Balances, IIT just became a lot cooler, in my personal opinion. The exam was held on 6th May 2019, that is a day before the playoffs of the twelfth season of the league began with the first match destined to take place between two of the most successful teams in the Rohit Sharma-led Mumbai Indians and Mahendra Singh Dhoni's Chennai Super Kings at the MA Chidambaram Stadium. The students were in for a pleasant surprise when the first question of the exam required them to hypothetically help the Chennai skipper make a crucial decision after he wins the toss. © IIT Madras The question read, “Dew can play a major role in day-night matches. Excessive dew in the outfield makes the ball wet. For spinners, the challenge is to grip the wet ball and get it to impart spin. For fast bowlers, it is difficult to hit the desired length. Hence, this can put the fielding team at a disadvantage. During IPL 2019, Chennai Super Kings are likely to play a qualifier at Chepauk Stadium on May 7. As per the weather forecast on May 7, the relative humidity in Chennai is expected to be 70 per cent. The temperature at the start of the game is expected to be 39 degrees. At the beginning of the second innings, the temperature is expected to drop to 27 degrees. Based on this info, if Dhoni wins the toss would you recommend batting or fielding first. Justify your answer.” Ever since the exam concluded, the question-paper went viral and ended up with the Twitter handle of the International Cricket Council, who even gave a shoutout to IIT Madras' Professor Vignesh “for making exams relevant to important, real-life issues!” Shout out to Professor Vignesh at @iitmadras for making exams relevant to important, real-life issues! Can anyone help @msdhoni and @ChennaiIPL make a decision before the toss tomorrow? (and show your workings ð) pic.twitter.com/8fp7rGI5BG — ICC (@ICC) May 6, 2019 Some of the other fans of the game, who did not have the opportunity to answer this question for marks, took to Twitter to do their best in helping Mahi make the decision: It's obvious whoever win the toss will elect field first. Dew will play crucial role , fielding second will definitely become challenging. Though Chennai has a spinning track , spinners in second inning will be in trouble to control the ball. Win the toss , win the match. — Patel Meet (@msp_011) May 6, 2019 @msdhoni will bowl first as the temperature is 39 in the beginning and in second innings it will drop to 27, hence major chances of due because of 70% humidity as the humid air will turn into water (due) on cold surfaces. — Durwas Mohite (@DurwasMohite) May 6, 2019 *Outside the box thinking* Since Chennai pitch is supporting spin and since we have quality spinners than quality pacers, it is better to chase. Bcz if dew comes, we will be in disadvantage. And even if dew doesn't come, chasing will be better for a heavy-batting unit like #CSK — Sai Krishð (@bsk5496) May 6, 2019 As the dew point is around 32 degree Celsius , by the time the second innings starts the dew would have already fallen ... Hence whichever team wins the toss should bat second !! pic.twitter.com/924JUEW3GB — The accidental researcher (@vijayathithan) May 6, 2019 I'd recommend bowl first, if there is dew on field, it is difficult bowlers to grip the ball and that will eventually help the batsmen.. So bowl first and chase comfortably!! — MSD Zealot! (@Vidyadhar_7) May 6, 2019
  20. Even though the spoiler ban has officially been lifted, I will still be nice and put a disclaimer. 'Avengers: Endgame' spoilers ahead. PS: if you're a true Marvel fan and still haven't watched the movie, I'm judging you. All of us are still talking about 'Avengers: Endgame' but Marvel cannot wait anymore. After making over 2 billion dollars with just one movie, they're already focussing on their next multi-million dollar movie, which is of course 'Spider-man: Far From Home'. The first trailer was all fun - Peter Parker going on a much deserved vacation to Europe with his friends - but now things are getting serious and emotional. Now, Marvel can actually show Peter dealing with Tony's death in 'Endgame' freely. It's good that they're showing him mourning the loss of Tony, but I wasn't prepared to see Peter crying. Not cool, Marvel. After the heartfelt moment, it picks up and Spider-Man is back to joking around. It's again all fun and game till Nick Fury shows up and hijacks Peter's vacation. Actually, Nick Fury just saying 'Bitch please' was the highlight for me. We've all analysed everything related to 'Endgame' to death, so let's focus our energies on 'Far From Home' now. Here's everything that stood out for me from this trailer and also the reason that the next phase of Marvel Cinematic Universe is kicking off with a great movie. 1. Peter Ghosting Nick Fury Like father (figure), like son? Only Peter Parker and Tony Stark can get away with ghosting Nick Fury, tbh. 2. Multiverse?! “He's from earth, just not our earth.” I'm already so confused by alternate timelines and time travel in 'Endgame', a multiverse will just make it worse. 3. Nod To OG Avengers All the Avengers are busy and the responsibility of saving the world comes on to a friendly neighbourghood Spider-Man. With that, let's move on to the next point. 4. “I'm Just A Friendly Neighbourhood Spider-man.” That is it, this has already made the movie for me. I can't wait to see just this specific scene in theatres. 5. MJ Knows He's Spider-Man First Aunt May, now MJ. Peter really is the worst at hiding his secret identity. 6. Mysterio Possibly Referring To Tony's Death More emotional stuff. While we don't know if he's talking about Tony exactly, I think it's safe to assume and not just because Tony has been ready to sacrifice himself in literally every movie. 7. Tony's Glasses That looks exactly like Tony's glasses, but what is Peter doing with them? 8. Iron Man Refernce With Iron Man's Glove? What is that glove thing? What is happening? Is he going to be the next Iron Man? 9. New Spidey Stealth Suit Yes, it was there is the last trailer as well, but it's still cool, okay? Thanks.
  21. The more I watch the ending of the last episode of 'Game of Thrones', the more convinced I am about a few revelations that will make a breakthrough in the next episode. Well, they can't leave us with unanswered questions on how Arya flew all the way, in the sneakiest way possible to kill the Night King, or how the Dothraki just disappeared in approximately 10 seconds. Everything from the 'darkest' episode in the history of TV series was a blur and we're really looking forward to some closure. © HBO A lot of fan theories are going about on the internet and we caught hold of one which made a lot of sense. Because we do need a close ended scenario here! So, do you remember the scene when Jon is trying to fight the zombie dragon, towards the end? Well, to be honest Jon didn't do much throughout the episode. He was either flying his dragon with his lover or fighting a dead dragon. But now it seems like he was helping Arya out in the end. How you ask? Well, according to a fan, while Jon was fighting and screaming at the dead dragon, he wasn't just randomly screaming at the dragon. Then what was he screaming at? © HBO Here's what the fan posted on Reddit about this theory: "Jon screamed at the undead dragon to distract it so Arya can run past and kill the Night King. The undead dragon was protecting the entrance to the Godswood. Watch it again, you can actually hear him scream 'GOOOOO – GO – GO.' 10 seconds later the scene you can see the hair of a White Walker flying up when Arya sprints past the group of White Walkers. Jon once again was ready to sacrifice himself to kill the Night King." So, basically, the dragon was manning the entry to the Godswood, so to distract him Jon started fighting him and yelling 'GO' to Arya at the same time. That'll be one interesting theory if it does come true. It'll certainly give us a fair amount of closure if nothing else! Which also means, everything was plotted and planned carefully in order to kill the Night King. But how does Arya fly all the way over to him and how is it that no one hears her coming? © HBO Well, take a look at the ending anyway, just so you can get a clearer sense of it: So, let's also add the fact that Jon was probably sacrificing himself to make Arya the last hero. Is that a fact? I want to certainly believe it because let's face it, it's Jon! Since this seems quite probable, I am really hoping they break certain revelations to us in episode 4, so we can be at peace and forgive HBO for forgetting to add enough light to watch the damn episode.
  22. As 'Game of Thrones' is heading towards the end, we all saw what we assumed was the most powerful enemy, defeated by none other than Arya Stark. It seemed simple, sidelining all the theories we'd been discussing for over weeks, but it wasn't as simple as it was made out to be. There were subtle hints throughout the series about Arya rising as a great warrior, pitching her purpose towards something bigger, like defeating the Night King's army. Now that's done with, we wonder what lies ahead. All we know is Cersei is waiting with Euron Greyjoy at the other end of the spectrum for either the living or the dead to arrive. © HBO While we speculated a gazillion theories on how the Night King's army will be defeated, here we are again, trying to figure the same for Cersei. Right now all we know is the living are going to march with whatever they have left towards King's Landing and fight Cersei for the throne. Dany and Jon alone don't have an army as such. The Dothraki and the unsullied were wiped off during the war. Dany has her dragons intact, which is enough but we shouldn't forget Cersei has the Golden Cloak army of 20,000 men, plus the Lannister army plus the Grejoy fleet. But she also has her prophecies buried in her head, and she's very aware of them and always has been. © HBO If you're wondering what prophecy I am talking about here, let me take you back to season 5 episode one, when Cersei meets a powerful fortune teller Maggy the Frog, deep in the woods of Casterly Rock when she was a child. Cercei demands to know her future and Maggy tells her three things. The first that she wouldn't marry a prince but a king. Which came true. Second, she would be cast aside by a younger and a prettier queen who will take away all that Cersei holds dear to her. Which again came true. In the last one Maggy tells her that that the king would have 20 children and Cersei would have three, and “gold will be their crowns, and gold their shrouds.” Maggy then tells Cersei that all three kids will eventually die. Which came true as well. Apart from these three predictions, Maggy reveals a final prediction, which is mentioned in 'The Feast of Crows', the fourth book in the series. She says “The valonqar shall wrap his hands about your pale throat and choke the life from you.” Now, here the valonqar translates to a younger brother. For Cersei, this has always been Tyrion as someone who could possibly try to kill her. However, if you notice, there's another brother in Cersei's life who is younger to her and that's Jaime. © HBO Earlier we would have assumed that Jaime can never kill Cersei since he's so helplessly in love with her. But towards the end of season 7, we see Jaime's disgust for how Cersei has been ruling the kingdom, bordering on insanity, just like the Mad King and he decides to leave her allegiance to support a greater war far North. Cersei also betrays Jaime and everyone else when she doesn't march to Winterfell to fight the dead along with the Starks and Daenerys. Since Jaime has left her side, Cersei hires Bronn to kill Jaime and since there is so much bitterness between the two already, we won't be surprised if Jaime does go for her throat when he sees her. © HBO While all her prophecies have come true, we're sure this will come true as well. But there's a heavy contradiction with this prophecy. In season 3, Melisandre meets Arya with the 'Brotherhood Without Banners' and she predicts that Arya and she will meet again. She also tells Arya that she sees a darkness in her and in that darkness eyes staring back at her. Brown eyes, blue eyes and green eyes, eyes she'll shut forever. Throughout the series when Arya is seeking revenge from her 'list', she shuts many brown eyes. When Melisandre sees her again in season eight's third episode, she reminds her of the prophecy and about the blue and green eyes she's yet to shut still. We all know Arya kills the Night King who has blue eyes. So, who's the one left with green eyes? Yes, it's no other than Cersei! The book mentions the fact that Cersei has green eyes. Now, we're not sure if Cersei is the one Arya will go after or if she's shut some green eyes before, we're not aware of. A lot of fans are theorising the belief that Jaime will die, in the battle at King's Landing and since Arya is the faceless man, she will don Jaime's face and strangle Cersei towards the end, giving both Melisandre and Maggy the Frog's theory a befitting end! Well, so far only the prophecies have helped foreshadow our cause in knowing what may happen next, so if we do hold on to these two theories, maybe the end is eventually near?
  23. I just have to say one thing before starting this article - if you don't stay for the end credit scenes in a Marvel movie, you're a disgrace to this fandom and you don't deserve to even watch the movies. Every single person knows that a end credit scene in any movie which is part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is an important as the movie itself. From giving clues as to what's next to basically have the biggest superheroes in the world just sit and eat after a battle, the end credit scenes are the real MVPs of Marvel movies and not even Marvel can deny that. Everyone's gearing up for the endgame - and possible end - of the OG Avengers in 'Avengers: Endgame' by binge watching all the movies again or just by following all the theories or memes. Marvel itself had a better idea to give the fans a refresher - a compilation of all the end credit scenes. The official Twitter account of Marvel has blessed us with the best Twitter thread right now and the easiest way to watch all of them. Starting off is RDJ as Iron Man, of course and the entry of Nick Fury, setting up the idea of 'Avengers' from the get go. “You've become a part of bigger universe, you just don't know it yet.” pic.twitter.com/eOmLZO5l1d — Marvel Studios (@MarvelStudios) April 22, 2019 Then Tony Stark showed up in 'The Incredible Hulk'. “What if I told you we were putting a team together...” pic.twitter.com/6fvpAvd9kL — Marvel Studios (@MarvelStudios) April 22, 2019 Thor's hammer Mjölnir showing up before Thor himself towards the end of 'Iron Man 2'. “Sir, we found it.” ð¨ pic.twitter.com/Dv4pURzD1z — Marvel Studios (@MarvelStudios) April 22, 2019 Loki being sneaky at the end of 'Thor'. “Well I guess that's worth a look.” pic.twitter.com/iPZOnhBZzA — Marvel Studios (@MarvelStudios) April 22, 2019 'Captain America: The First Avenger' had a rather simple one. “You here with a mission sir?” pic.twitter.com/aynOatBSL6 — Marvel Studios (@MarvelStudios) April 22, 2019 Giant purple grape is here! ð pic.twitter.com/yFTa2AzaQA — Marvel Studios (@MarvelStudios) April 22, 2019 The most iconic end credit scene, hands down. 24. The creators of 'Game Of Thrones' have come up with a pre-release treat for fans. With Season 8 right here, most people are anxious to find out who will sit on the Iron Throne and who is going to be slaughtered. With an unending supply of elaborate theories on the internet, it's hard to scour for the truth. But if you too, like us, can't wait to figure out how this season is going to pan out, then read ahead. Courtesy of creators of GOT, the pair David Benioff and D.B. Weiss helped create a new Spotify playlist, 'Game of Thrones: The End Is Coming', to accompany their show's final season—and even included hints as to how the beloved series will conclude. © Instagram “The answer to the ending is one hundred per cent hidden in the playlist choices,” Benioff and Weiss told a publication in an email. “No one will believe us, but it's true.” © Spotify Obviously, the intention was much more than to have their fans guessing who is going to die next. It was also about sharing their love for rock, metal, and several other music genres. The tracks that Benioff and Weiss added in the new playlist include: “Her Black Wings” by Danzig, “Sleep Now in the Fire” by Rage Against The Machine, and “Girl from the North Country” by Johnny Cash and Bob Dylan. This new playlist was made to get 'Game of Thrones' fans hyped in the last few days before the final season's premiere on April 14.
  25. Just days before the eighth and final season of 'Game of Thrones' premieres on HBO, a BTS video from the sets of the beloved fantasy epic has taken social media by storm. Titled 'The Cast Remembers', the 10-minute long video shows the cast talk about their journey over the years until the very end. The stars can be seen reminiscing about their most memorable moments on set, the actors they most admire and much more. © HBO The video comes at a time when every 'GOT' fan is waiting for the final season to hit the screens with bated breath. Anticipation is running high, excitement even higher. Yet, no one can ignore the nagging feeling of imminent sadness that the final episodes of the season are going to bring to us - each a reminder to the end. However, seeing some of the main actors from the show talk about the splendid experiences in the video, and their expectation v/s reality anecdotes come as a welcome distraction from the impending end. © HBO From Daenerys to Tyrion to Cersei, every character that we have come to love over the years share some of their best memories, and through it, all of us also get to relive the times of GOT from the very beginning. Sophie Turner, Maisie Williams and Isaac Hampstead-Wright have literally grown up on the show and all the talking about it will surely leave you guys feeling terribly nostalgic, and appreciate the journey we have made with them all. © HBO From their most shocking scenes, to the most difficult and who gets to be their most favourite co-star, the 'The Cast Remembers' is the best(and worst) sort of goodbye video the makers of 'GOT' could have sent our way at this moment. Adios, amigos. But maybe, not yet.
