  1. The Pakistan cricket team is probably the most unpredictable thing about the ICC World Cup 2019, which begins in a couple of days in England & Wales. While their loss to a team like Afghanistan in their warm-up games shows just how bad the team can be, they consist of a few extremely talented players who can take Pakistan cricket to a new high, maybe even get their first ever World Cup victory against the Indian cricket team. Here are the five key players of the team who can win it all for the cricket-crazy nation: 1. Babar Azam © Reuters Referred to as the “Virat Kohli of Pakistan”, Babar Azam plays like the Indian skipper too. At the age of 24, Azam easily dominated some of the deadliest of bowlers on the current time in Dale Steyn, Kagiso Rabada and Duanne Olivier at the Proteas' home ground in South Africa a couple of months ago and seems to never lose his form with the bat. In his career in adolescence, Azam has scored 2544 runs in just 62 ODIs which includes 8 tons and 11 half-centuries. In 2019, Azam has batted in 10 innings for his team and scored 472 runs with an average of 52.4 runs per innings. 2. Imam-ul-Haq © Reuters Being the nephew of Inzamam-ul-Haq, Imam faced a lot of pressure during his introduction to international cricket during the U-19 Asia Cup in 2012. A fighter that he is, Imam has brought his flamboyant stroke-play to every match that he has played ever since. His debut for the national team of Pakistan occurred in 2017 against Sri Lanka, in which he not only chased the total and won the match but also struck his first ODI hundred. Imam's ODI journey has seen him play in 27 games while scoring a total of 1381 runs including his career's best single-inning performance, a 151 against the World Cup 2019 hosts a couple of weeks ago. 3. Fakhar Zaman © Reuters Probably as unpredictable as the Pakistan team, Fakhar Zaman is the opening batsman who will either bring you runs in big bundles or will not bring them at all. The series against England was the perfect example of his uncertainty as a batsman. Having said that, when he does stick to the crease, there is no force in the cricketing world that could stop him from getting a half-ton for his side. In his career, Zaman has featured in 34 ODIs, putting up 1585 runs on the board with a decent strike rate of 97.83 through his career. He has batted in 10 ODI innings this year and scored 367 runs. 4. Hasan Ali © Reuters While the team, which was once feared for their bowling attack, is now in search for some good bowlers themselves, 24-year-old Hasan Ali is probably the best they have heading into the World Cup, who's reverse swing with a slightly-used ball has got him some important wickets throughout his career. Ever since his 2016 debut in the ODI format of the game, Ali has scalped 78 wickets in just 47 matches with an economy rate of 5.56. 2019 has been a little expensive for the bowler as he has given an average of six runs per over in the past five months while collecting only five wickets. 5. Asif Ali © Reuters Pakistan's bravest athlete, Asif Ali faced a tragic loss in his personal life when cancer took away his two-year-old daughter from him a week ago. Aware of his duties towards the team and his fans, Asif returned to England to join the squad yet again before they take on West Indies on 31st May 2019. Stepping onto the crease at the number seven spot, Ali is known for hitting it strong and long on command. Ali has mustered 342 runs in the 16 games that he has played in the ODI format with a fierce strike rate of 131.03. In 2019, two of the four ODIs that he was a part of saw him raising his bat in the air for half-tons scoring 142 in total this year.
  2. This article contains heavy spoilers. Proceed with caution. If you see Bran's character arc, it's risen tremendously from how he was portrayed in Season 1, till the most recent Season, where he's named king of the six realms. But if you think about it, his journey wasn't just another teenager who finds true meaning in life and becomes the Three-Eyed-Raven. He was very carefully orchestrating and plotting his own storyline, which in all probability, was highly overshadowed from the rest of us. © HBO When the gang of survivors were holding a discussion as to who the next king should be, everyone unanimously decided upon Bran. Tyrion, of course, gave his two cents on why Bran should be the ruler of the 7 kingdoms and with a common consensus, Bran was named king of the 6 kingdoms, giving Sansa complete autonomy to rule the North on her own. Right after he was appointed king, Tyrion asked Bran if he wanted it and Bran said: ''why do you think I've come all this way"? That statement might have been something we missed delving deeper into but come to think of it, it's a pretty loaded statement, which could tell us that Bran had been planning taking over the realm since the beginning! Or since he became the Three-Eyed-Raven, who actually wanted to lead and rule all, according to some theories. © HBO But, let's fish out some actual facts on why Bran could be the ultimate villain who was silently rooting for the throne, for himself. First off, Bran knows everything that has happened and will happen in the future. We're not sure how far he can see into the future but it's a sufficient amount to predict things that may happen and avoid the things that shouldn't. The very fact that he let most things happen, even though he could have stopped them is highly suspicious. For example, if he knew Euron was going to attack Daenerys' fleet, he could have asked her to change her strategy, but he didn't. He kept quiet until Dany lost one of her dragon's in Euron's attack. For someone who 'sees' everything, this seemed quite intentional. © HBO Next, let's look at the Night King's death. I agree that episode 3 of 'Game of Thrones' Season 8 was absolutely haywire, where nothing made sense. Not just the fact that almost everyone survived the army of the dead and that the Night King died, frivolously, after 7 Seasons of absolute build-up, also that his death seemed very inferior compared to how he was shown or talked about in the show. But, keeping that bit aside, Bran warged into the ravens during the war and we never really figured out what he was trying to do. They never showed the part where his warging helped out the war in any way possible. Popular fan theories suggest that Bran cooked up a deal with the Night King, which lured him towards Bran, and since Bran had given Arya the Valyrian Steel dagger earlier, he knew the NK's actual fate. There was no form of expression or relief on Bran's face when Arya killed the Night King. © HBO Also, if you think about it, Bran giving the Valyrian Steel dagger to Arya, which foreshadowed the Night King's death and telling Samwell, Arya and Sansa about Jon's true lineage and not letting out anything else, is a great tactic. This way, he made sure his claim to the throne was intact, getting rid of his enemies one by one. Arya killed the Night King with the dagger Bran gave her and everyone knew Jon was a Targaryen after Bran revealed it, which led to Dany losing her mind towards the end, and eventually dying for it. And that's how Bran got rid of two tough contenders, one by one. And while the two wars were taking place, Bran took a back seat and watched things unfold. Things he'd set in motion himself. Very clever Bran! How did the #NightKing change Craster's babies? By touching them. How did he change Viserion? By touching it. What did Bloodraven say to #BranStark in the cave? "He touched you."#foodforthought#nightking #GameofThrones — Vladimir Furdik (@Vladimir_furdik) 28 April 2019 Which is actually true. Even though Bran met the NK earlier through a vision, the NK had touched him and left his mark. Did Bran change post that and wished to take control over everything else and discovered his evil-dark side? The fifth episode of Season 8 also has an interesting fan theory. Dany had decided to withdraw if and when King's Landing rang the bells in surrender. But even after the bells were rung, she went Dracarys on the entire kingdom! Earlier, if you see Dany, while the bells are ringing, she is looking towards the Red Keep where Cersei is standing, making it seem like she's going to charge towards Cersei and kill her and destroy just the Red Keep. But she ends up destroying the entire city. Now, the theory states that Bran probably warged into Drogon, Dany's dragon, and burnt the city down to ashes. © HBO Not once did they show Dany's face when Drogon was spitting fire. Maybe he wasn't in her control and was doing whatever he wanted because his consciousness had been taken over by Bran. There's also a shot of Drogon's shadow over King's Landing when he's spewing fire and it's identical to the vision Bran had a few seasons ago, which could also amount to something. And if Drogon was spitting fire recklessly while Dany was confused about his actions, it could just mean that Dany, in all probability, wasn't the Mad Queen after all and that Bran is just pure evil! © HBO While all these are just theories, they do give us something to think about. How can someone, who sees the future and knows the past never strategise during a big war? How was he always quiet? Why was no one consulting him on what to do next? Why didn't anyone else consider Jon Snow, the true heir, for the throne? After an entire build up over his revelation of being a Targaryen and Bran's constant vision of Jon's birth at the Tower of Joy in Dorne, the throne eventually went to Bran. Isn't it quite strange? © HBO Well, I like to believe Bran played a great game and made everyone believe he is the rightful king, even though he is not and he knew it all along, especially when he uttered, "why do you think I've come all this way". Now, we aren't sure if he means he's come all this way from the North to be named king, or that he's always been plotting and planning for the throne, by being the Three-Eyed-Raven and has come all this way to take the throne. We'll never truly know! But let's see what George RR Martin has in store for us, through his upcoming books!
  3. Sadly, most theories and prophecies didn't work in 'Game of Thrones', as we saw a rather clustered final season, with a lot of loose ends, that did not even make sense. Even so, towards the bittersweet end, the fog finally settled and things played out as and how they had to. But truly, if 'Game of Thrones' has taught us anything, it's how prophecies don't always come true even though they've been predicted by a reliable source. For instance, the infamous Valonqar prophecy, where Cersei was told by a fortune teller that her younger brother would eventually strangle her to death, didn't see the light of day. Although, all the other predictions Maggy the Frog had made, came true eventually. Cersei lost all her children but she died with Jaime when the Red Keep structure collapsed on them. (c)HBO Just like the Valonqar prophecy, the show emphasised a lot on the 'Prince That Was Promised' as well. The prophecy entailed a reincarnated form of the folklore warrior Azor Ahai, who ended the long night and brought light into the world, again. Azor Ahai killed the White Walkers in the past, by forging a sword by the name of 'Lightbringer' and brought in an era of peace and tranquillity. In a conversation with Ser Davos, Melisandre once stated: “There will come a day after a long summer when the stars bleed and the cold breath of darkness falls heavy on the world, In this dread hour, a warrior shall draw from the fire a burning sword. And that sword shall be Lightbringer, the Red Sword of Heroes, and he who clasps it shall be Azor Ahai come again, and the darkness shall flee before him.” (c)HBO So, in all practicality, she was predicting Azor Ahai or the return of the 'Prince That Was Promised', to end the long night again. At first, we all concluded that Arya Stark could be the warrior reborn, as she was the one who killed the Night King in episode 3 of Season 8 but as the Season progressed, we saw the possibilities of that not being true. (c)HBO The final twist towards the end of the show reveals that perhaps Jon Snow actually fulfilled the Azor Ahai prophecy and could clearly be the 'Prince That Was Promised.' Let's go back many years, shall we? According to legend, when Azor Ahai became a warrior, he needed to forge a hero's sword to end the darkness. A sword that would burn bright, while being used on the enemy. He spent 30 days and 30 nights to create his 'Lightbringer'. But when he tempered his sword in water, it broke. He didn't give up that easy and started making it from scratch, again. This could metaphorically be seen as Jon gathering an army to defeat the Night King. Even though Arya killed the Night King, Jon assembled the resources to defeat him and his army. Coming back to Azor Ahai, the second time he tried to create the Lightbringer, he took fifty days and fifty nights to make the sword. To forge it properly, this time he tempered it by capturing a lion and driving the blade through his heart, but alas, the steel shattered again. (c)HBO Again, this could have a metaphorical angle as the lion here can refer to Cersei, the ruling queen, whose house sigil is indeed a lion. Even though Jon didn't kill Cersei, he did defeat her army and fought till the very end, till there were no Lannisters aka lions left in Kingslanding, except, of course, Tyrion. Again, getting back to Azor Ahai's third attempt to forge his sword, it wasn't too disappointing this time. He knew what he had to do to create the perfect blade. He worked straight for 100 days and 100 nights and finished it. This time though, he called his wife Nissa Nissa and asked her to bear her bosom. He drove the blade right through her heart, where the steel combined with her heart and her soul to create the ultimate sword the 'Lightbringer', the Red Sword of heroes, finally. The sword was as warm and lit as Nissa Nissa's heart. (c)HBO Now, going back and connecting the dots, Jon did something similar, for the greater good of the realm, to drive any evil away. He stabbed Dany right through her heart and protected the world from any darkness and fire, bringing in the light, so that the kingdoms could be ruled peacefully. Azor Ahai's prophecy also reads the following: “Once Azor Ahai fought a monster, when he thrust his sword through the belly of the beast its blood began to boil. Smoke and steam poured from its mouth, its eyes melted and dribbled down its cheeks and its body burst into flame.” (c)HBO In this case, after Jon kills Dany, the monster refers to the Iron Throne, which Drogon, Dany's dragon burnt down to ashes, as it was a monster of sorts that drove Dany towards the depth of madness and didn't bring her back. So, all in all, you can see that Jon's personality is somehow very synonymous to who Azor Ahai actually was, as Jon too made the ultimate sacrifice. Even though he was the rightful heir to the throne, he gave that up to let Dany rule the world. But when he saw grave injustice and her act of violence towards the end, he ended her life, someone he deeply loved, to protect the realm and making a world a better place to live in. (c)HBO It might not be everything that was prophesied, but there are similarities that do match up to what Azor Ahai did years ago and Jon selflessly, almost did the same. Well, we'll only know more once George RR Martin finishes his last two books, shedding some more 'light' on this prophecy.
  4. Warning: if you haven't seen 'The Bells', that is Season 8 Episode 5 of 'Game of Thrones', you probably shouldn't read ahead. Westeros was reduced to rubble so that Daenerys Targaryen could sit on the Iron Throne, making everyone question what is the point of anything at all? Who will she even rule if the people she would potentially lord over, don't even exist? © HBO But besides her, everyone else was visibly and significantly traumatised except maybe Greyworm, who was too busy avenging his girlfriend's death. © HBO Arya Stark came with a very specific purpose to King's Landing: murdering Cersei and crossing her off the list. Oh well, we know how well that turned out. © HBO But by the end of the episode, by the looks of it, she has probably escaped death again by an inch or so. And if Cersei is now not on her list, is she going to target Dany? Considering Melisandre's prophecy which also spoke of a certain someone with 'green eyes' that Arya was to shut forever, turns out Dany, ahem... fits the category. And here's how she definitely has the motive to kill Dany, now especially after trying to save Nora, the woman who was trying to protect her daughter. Nora and her daughter's death has significantly impacted Arya. Especially after seeing them being burnt alive by Drogon leaving their charred bodies still in the stupor in which they were trying to save themselves. She also realizes, not just the futility of this excessive violence, but the harrowing aftermath that is going to strike the survivors of the burnt city. She then encounters a half-burnt white horse that rescues her from the burning city. But here's the thing, the horse has a hidden symbolic meaning behind it: In the 'GoT' world, a pale horse is symbolic of the bloody flux of what those in Mereen refer to as dysentery that strikes people like the plague and kills hundreds in one strike, which can be further analysed as the face of Death. Not just 'Game of Thrones', the Bible too has a reference of a pale horse that represents impending death. © HBO In Revelations 6:8, a line reads: “I looked, and there before me was a pale horse! Its rider was named Death, and Hades was following close behind him.” But even if we assume that the show makers aren't influenced by Biblical notions on the show, there is evidence that suggests otherwise. In Season 2, Dany was warned about a pale mare amongst other things by a masked woman called Quaithe. In riddles, this woman told Dany, “To go north, you must go south…”. In the book, A Dance with Dragons, Quaithe warns Dany, “The glass candles are burning. Soon comes the pale mare, and after her the others. Kraken and dark flame, lion and griffin, the sun's son and the mummer's dragon. Trust none of them. Remember the Undying. Beware the perfumed seneschal." © HBO Clearly, there were a lot of people that Dany had to watch out for from Quaithe's tricky riddles, but something that starkly stands out now with all this context is the pale mare. But that's the thing about prophecies and 'Game of Thrones', they can be rather unpredictable and surprise us out of nowhere. But the looming connection of the pale mare and Arya is definitely noteworthy.
  5. Do you feel like absolute sh** when your favourite character from 'Game of Thrones' dies? It's legit to feel absolutely down in the dumps because you form a dynamic with each character and when they die, it's hard to process that because they make a significant mark in your life. That's what 'GOT' has been doing to people across the board and you can spend hours talking about how and why someone dies but still not find any respite whatsoever. © HBO 'Game of Thrones' has grown over us slowly and steadily, over the last 8 years and we're slowly realising the end is near and we will have to let go every aspect of it soon. Of course the memories from the show will stay but it's almost like we need a constant support group to let them all go and someone's made a worthy effort to make sure we have a proper grievance platform for our favourite show. And guess what, there is one! © HBO Star World has been renowned as the channel that is home to all things 'Game of Thrones' and now, with the final season of the show coming to an end, it has upped the game again by finding a solution to our woes. Monday mornings have never been the same as each episode of the show takes us closer to its inevitable end. In order to engage with fans across the country and help them navigate through all the burns of the season, their many frustrations and melancholies, Star World has now opened up a #GOTHelpline - A first-of-its kind engagement activity, for all 'Game of Thrones' Fans. © HBO Based on the 5 stages of grief. i.e, denial, anger, withdrawals, depression and acceptance, the helpline will guide and support GOT fans through the many emotions they are feeling during each of the remaining episodes. All viewers need to do is give a missed call on 1800 313 6311 to get access to the #GOTHelpline. Whether they are in denial over the show coming to an end, or their anger burns with fiery rage towards the incidents on the show, or they are looking for a distraction, the #GOTHelpline is there to help. © Star World Through witty repartee, biting sarcasm and some of the most memorable moments and quotes from 'Game of Thrones', the helpline will help ease the anguish– whether it is the moment of disappointment when Jon leaves his beloved direwolf Ghost, to Tormund or the anger of Cersei's most recent betrayal when she didn't send her armies to Winterfell like she promised or even when Arya Stark takes the opportunity away from Jon Snow while becoming the AzorAhai. © HBO Through a special functionality made available for fans, they can even theorise and pay their respects to the show and its many characters over the #GoTHelpline. © HBO Now, with seven seasons of drama wrapped neatly under its belt and only one more episode to wrap everything up, things are going to move fast in the 'Game of Thrones' cosmos. Even then, there is no need to worry. Just dial the hotline number 1800 313 6311 and let the raven carry your sorrows to Westeros! © HBO Isn't this just the perfect light at the end of a dark tunnel? A helpline to get us through the end? Well, after episode 5 of season 8, we would certainly need some part of this IVR helpline. With a week left for the series to roll out its finale, it's going to be an emotional rollercoaster and we terribly hope this helpline can really help.
  6. The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) is one of the most well-renowned engineering institutions of India and is known to add a little bit of fun to its gruelling study-structure from time to time, in order to prevent the students from getting overwhelmed. However, when the teaching staff of the Institute decided to add the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) season to their end semester exam of Material and Energy Balances, IIT just became a lot cooler, in my personal opinion. The exam was held on 6th May 2019, that is a day before the playoffs of the twelfth season of the league began with the first match destined to take place between two of the most successful teams in the Rohit Sharma-led Mumbai Indians and Mahendra Singh Dhoni's Chennai Super Kings at the MA Chidambaram Stadium. The students were in for a pleasant surprise when the first question of the exam required them to hypothetically help the Chennai skipper make a crucial decision after he wins the toss. © IIT Madras The question read, “Dew can play a major role in day-night matches. Excessive dew in the outfield makes the ball wet. For spinners, the challenge is to grip the wet ball and get it to impart spin. For fast bowlers, it is difficult to hit the desired length. Hence, this can put the fielding team at a disadvantage. During IPL 2019, Chennai Super Kings are likely to play a qualifier at Chepauk Stadium on May 7. As per the weather forecast on May 7, the relative humidity in Chennai is expected to be 70 per cent. The temperature at the start of the game is expected to be 39 degrees. At the beginning of the second innings, the temperature is expected to drop to 27 degrees. Based on this info, if Dhoni wins the toss would you recommend batting or fielding first. Justify your answer.” Ever since the exam concluded, the question-paper went viral and ended up with the Twitter handle of the International Cricket Council, who even gave a shoutout to IIT Madras' Professor Vignesh “for making exams relevant to important, real-life issues!” Shout out to Professor Vignesh at @iitmadras for making exams relevant to important, real-life issues! Can anyone help @msdhoni and @ChennaiIPL make a decision before the toss tomorrow? (and show your workings ð) pic.twitter.com/8fp7rGI5BG — ICC (@ICC) May 6, 2019 Some of the other fans of the game, who did not have the opportunity to answer this question for marks, took to Twitter to do their best in helping Mahi make the decision: It's obvious whoever win the toss will elect field first. Dew will play crucial role , fielding second will definitely become challenging. Though Chennai has a spinning track , spinners in second inning will be in trouble to control the ball. Win the toss , win the match. — Patel Meet (@msp_011) May 6, 2019 @msdhoni will bowl first as the temperature is 39 in the beginning and in second innings it will drop to 27, hence major chances of due because of 70% humidity as the humid air will turn into water (due) on cold surfaces. — Durwas Mohite (@DurwasMohite) May 6, 2019 *Outside the box thinking* Since Chennai pitch is supporting spin and since we have quality spinners than quality pacers, it is better to chase. Bcz if dew comes, we will be in disadvantage. And even if dew doesn't come, chasing will be better for a heavy-batting unit like #CSK — Sai Krishð (@bsk5496) May 6, 2019 As the dew point is around 32 degree Celsius , by the time the second innings starts the dew would have already fallen ... Hence whichever team wins the toss should bat second !! pic.twitter.com/924JUEW3GB — The accidental researcher (@vijayathithan) May 6, 2019 I'd recommend bowl first, if there is dew on field, it is difficult bowlers to grip the ball and that will eventually help the batsmen.. So bowl first and chase comfortably!! — MSD Zealot! (@Vidyadhar_7) May 6, 2019
  7. Even though the spoiler ban has officially been lifted, I will still be nice and put a disclaimer. 'Avengers: Endgame' spoilers ahead. PS: if you're a true Marvel fan and still haven't watched the movie, I'm judging you. All of us are still talking about 'Avengers: Endgame' but Marvel cannot wait anymore. After making over 2 billion dollars with just one movie, they're already focussing on their next multi-million dollar movie, which is of course 'Spider-man: Far From Home'. The first trailer was all fun - Peter Parker going on a much deserved vacation to Europe with his friends - but now things are getting serious and emotional. Now, Marvel can actually show Peter dealing with Tony's death in 'Endgame' freely. It's good that they're showing him mourning the loss of Tony, but I wasn't prepared to see Peter crying. Not cool, Marvel. After the heartfelt moment, it picks up and Spider-Man is back to joking around. It's again all fun and game till Nick Fury shows up and hijacks Peter's vacation. Actually, Nick Fury just saying 'Bitch please' was the highlight for me. We've all analysed everything related to 'Endgame' to death, so let's focus our energies on 'Far From Home' now. Here's everything that stood out for me from this trailer and also the reason that the next phase of Marvel Cinematic Universe is kicking off with a great movie. 1. Peter Ghosting Nick Fury Like father (figure), like son? Only Peter Parker and Tony Stark can get away with ghosting Nick Fury, tbh. 2. Multiverse?! “He's from earth, just not our earth.” I'm already so confused by alternate timelines and time travel in 'Endgame', a multiverse will just make it worse. 3. Nod To OG Avengers All the Avengers are busy and the responsibility of saving the world comes on to a friendly neighbourghood Spider-Man. With that, let's move on to the next point. 4. “I'm Just A Friendly Neighbourhood Spider-man.” That is it, this has already made the movie for me. I can't wait to see just this specific scene in theatres. 5. MJ Knows He's Spider-Man First Aunt May, now MJ. Peter really is the worst at hiding his secret identity. 6. Mysterio Possibly Referring To Tony's Death More emotional stuff. While we don't know if he's talking about Tony exactly, I think it's safe to assume and not just because Tony has been ready to sacrifice himself in literally every movie. 7. Tony's Glasses That looks exactly like Tony's glasses, but what is Peter doing with them? 8. Iron Man Refernce With Iron Man's Glove? What is that glove thing? What is happening? Is he going to be the next Iron Man? 9. New Spidey Stealth Suit Yes, it was there is the last trailer as well, but it's still cool, okay? Thanks.
  8. The more I watch the ending of the last episode of 'Game of Thrones', the more convinced I am about a few revelations that will make a breakthrough in the next episode. Well, they can't leave us with unanswered questions on how Arya flew all the way, in the sneakiest way possible to kill the Night King, or how the Dothraki just disappeared in approximately 10 seconds. Everything from the 'darkest' episode in the history of TV series was a blur and we're really looking forward to some closure. © HBO A lot of fan theories are going about on the internet and we caught hold of one which made a lot of sense. Because we do need a close ended scenario here! So, do you remember the scene when Jon is trying to fight the zombie dragon, towards the end? Well, to be honest Jon didn't do much throughout the episode. He was either flying his dragon with his lover or fighting a dead dragon. But now it seems like he was helping Arya out in the end. How you ask? Well, according to a fan, while Jon was fighting and screaming at the dead dragon, he wasn't just randomly screaming at the dragon. Then what was he screaming at? © HBO Here's what the fan posted on Reddit about this theory: "Jon screamed at the undead dragon to distract it so Arya can run past and kill the Night King. The undead dragon was protecting the entrance to the Godswood. Watch it again, you can actually hear him scream 'GOOOOO – GO – GO.' 10 seconds later the scene you can see the hair of a White Walker flying up when Arya sprints past the group of White Walkers. Jon once again was ready to sacrifice himself to kill the Night King." So, basically, the dragon was manning the entry to the Godswood, so to distract him Jon started fighting him and yelling 'GO' to Arya at the same time. That'll be one interesting theory if it does come true. It'll certainly give us a fair amount of closure if nothing else! Which also means, everything was plotted and planned carefully in order to kill the Night King. But how does Arya fly all the way over to him and how is it that no one hears her coming? © HBO Well, take a look at the ending anyway, just so you can get a clearer sense of it: So, let's also add the fact that Jon was probably sacrificing himself to make Arya the last hero. Is that a fact? I want to certainly believe it because let's face it, it's Jon! Since this seems quite probable, I am really hoping they break certain revelations to us in episode 4, so we can be at peace and forgive HBO for forgetting to add enough light to watch the damn episode.
  9. As 'Game of Thrones' is heading towards the end, we all saw what we assumed was the most powerful enemy, defeated by none other than Arya Stark. It seemed simple, sidelining all the theories we'd been discussing for over weeks, but it wasn't as simple as it was made out to be. There were subtle hints throughout the series about Arya rising as a great warrior, pitching her purpose towards something bigger, like defeating the Night King's army. Now that's done with, we wonder what lies ahead. All we know is Cersei is waiting with Euron Greyjoy at the other end of the spectrum for either the living or the dead to arrive. © HBO While we speculated a gazillion theories on how the Night King's army will be defeated, here we are again, trying to figure the same for Cersei. Right now all we know is the living are going to march with whatever they have left towards King's Landing and fight Cersei for the throne. Dany and Jon alone don't have an army as such. The Dothraki and the unsullied were wiped off during the war. Dany has her dragons intact, which is enough but we shouldn't forget Cersei has the Golden Cloak army of 20,000 men, plus the Lannister army plus the Grejoy fleet. But she also has her prophecies buried in her head, and she's very aware of them and always has been. © HBO If you're wondering what prophecy I am talking about here, let me take you back to season 5 episode one, when Cersei meets a powerful fortune teller Maggy the Frog, deep in the woods of Casterly Rock when she was a child. Cercei demands to know her future and Maggy tells her three things. The first that she wouldn't marry a prince but a king. Which came true. Second, she would be cast aside by a younger and a prettier queen who will take away all that Cersei holds dear to her. Which again came true. In the last one Maggy tells her that that the king would have 20 children and Cersei would have three, and “gold will be their crowns, and gold their shrouds.” Maggy then tells Cersei that all three kids will eventually die. Which came true as well. Apart from these three predictions, Maggy reveals a final prediction, which is mentioned in 'The Feast of Crows', the fourth book in the series. She says “The valonqar shall wrap his hands about your pale throat and choke the life from you.” Now, here the valonqar translates to a younger brother. For Cersei, this has always been Tyrion as someone who could possibly try to kill her. However, if you notice, there's another brother in Cersei's life who is younger to her and that's Jaime. © HBO Earlier we would have assumed that Jaime can never kill Cersei since he's so helplessly in love with her. But towards the end of season 7, we see Jaime's disgust for how Cersei has been ruling the kingdom, bordering on insanity, just like the Mad King and he decides to leave her allegiance to support a greater war far North. Cersei also betrays Jaime and everyone else when she doesn't march to Winterfell to fight the dead along with the Starks and Daenerys. Since Jaime has left her side, Cersei hires Bronn to kill Jaime and since there is so much bitterness between the two already, we won't be surprised if Jaime does go for her throat when he sees her. © HBO While all her prophecies have come true, we're sure this will come true as well. But there's a heavy contradiction with this prophecy. In season 3, Melisandre meets Arya with the 'Brotherhood Without Banners' and she predicts that Arya and she will meet again. She also tells Arya that she sees a darkness in her and in that darkness eyes staring back at her. Brown eyes, blue eyes and green eyes, eyes she'll shut forever. Throughout the series when Arya is seeking revenge from her 'list', she shuts many brown eyes. When Melisandre sees her again in season eight's third episode, she reminds her of the prophecy and about the blue and green eyes she's yet to shut still. We all know Arya kills the Night King who has blue eyes. So, who's the one left with green eyes? Yes, it's no other than Cersei! The book mentions the fact that Cersei has green eyes. Now, we're not sure if Cersei is the one Arya will go after or if she's shut some green eyes before, we're not aware of. A lot of fans are theorising the belief that Jaime will die, in the battle at King's Landing and since Arya is the faceless man, she will don Jaime's face and strangle Cersei towards the end, giving both Melisandre and Maggy the Frog's theory a befitting end! Well, so far only the prophecies have helped foreshadow our cause in knowing what may happen next, so if we do hold on to these two theories, maybe the end is eventually near?
  10. I just have to say one thing before starting this article - if you don't stay for the end credit scenes in a Marvel movie, you're a disgrace to this fandom and you don't deserve to even watch the movies. Every single person knows that a end credit scene in any movie which is part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is an important as the movie itself. From giving clues as to what's next to basically have the biggest superheroes in the world just sit and eat after a battle, the end credit scenes are the real MVPs of Marvel movies and not even Marvel can deny that. Everyone's gearing up for the endgame - and possible end - of the OG Avengers in 'Avengers: Endgame' by binge watching all the movies again or just by following all the theories or memes. Marvel itself had a better idea to give the fans a refresher - a compilation of all the end credit scenes. The official Twitter account of Marvel has blessed us with the best Twitter thread right now and the easiest way to watch all of them. Starting off is RDJ as Iron Man, of course and the entry of Nick Fury, setting up the idea of 'Avengers' from the get go. “You've become a part of bigger universe, you just don't know it yet.” pic.twitter.com/eOmLZO5l1d — Marvel Studios (@MarvelStudios) April 22, 2019 Then Tony Stark showed up in 'The Incredible Hulk'. “What if I told you we were putting a team together...” pic.twitter.com/6fvpAvd9kL — Marvel Studios (@MarvelStudios) April 22, 2019 Thor's hammer Mjölnir showing up before Thor himself towards the end of 'Iron Man 2'. “Sir, we found it.” ð¨ pic.twitter.com/Dv4pURzD1z — Marvel Studios (@MarvelStudios) April 22, 2019 Loki being sneaky at the end of 'Thor'. “Well I guess that's worth a look.” pic.twitter.com/iPZOnhBZzA — Marvel Studios (@MarvelStudios) April 22, 2019 'Captain America: The First Avenger' had a rather simple one. “You here with a mission sir?” pic.twitter.com/aynOatBSL6 — Marvel Studios (@MarvelStudios) April 22, 2019 Giant purple grape is here! ð pic.twitter.com/yFTa2AzaQA — Marvel Studios (@MarvelStudios) April 22, 2019 The most iconic end credit scene, hands down. 11. The creators of 'Game Of Thrones' have come up with a pre-release treat for fans. With Season 8 right here, most people are anxious to find out who will sit on the Iron Throne and who is going to be slaughtered. With an unending supply of elaborate theories on the internet, it's hard to scour for the truth. But if you too, like us, can't wait to figure out how this season is going to pan out, then read ahead. Courtesy of creators of GOT, the pair David Benioff and D.B. Weiss helped create a new Spotify playlist, 'Game of Thrones: The End Is Coming', to accompany their show's final season—and even included hints as to how the beloved series will conclude. © Instagram “The answer to the ending is one hundred per cent hidden in the playlist choices,” Benioff and Weiss told a publication in an email. “No one will believe us, but it's true.” © Spotify Obviously, the intention was much more than to have their fans guessing who is going to die next. It was also about sharing their love for rock, metal, and several other music genres. The tracks that Benioff and Weiss added in the new playlist include: “Her Black Wings” by Danzig, “Sleep Now in the Fire” by Rage Against The Machine, and “Girl from the North Country” by Johnny Cash and Bob Dylan. This new playlist was made to get 'Game of Thrones' fans hyped in the last few days before the final season's premiere on April 14.
  12. Just days before the eighth and final season of 'Game of Thrones' premieres on HBO, a BTS video from the sets of the beloved fantasy epic has taken social media by storm. Titled 'The Cast Remembers', the 10-minute long video shows the cast talk about their journey over the years until the very end. The stars can be seen reminiscing about their most memorable moments on set, the actors they most admire and much more. © HBO The video comes at a time when every 'GOT' fan is waiting for the final season to hit the screens with bated breath. Anticipation is running high, excitement even higher. Yet, no one can ignore the nagging feeling of imminent sadness that the final episodes of the season are going to bring to us - each a reminder to the end. However, seeing some of the main actors from the show talk about the splendid experiences in the video, and their expectation v/s reality anecdotes come as a welcome distraction from the impending end. © HBO From Daenerys to Tyrion to Cersei, every character that we have come to love over the years share some of their best memories, and through it, all of us also get to relive the times of GOT from the very beginning. Sophie Turner, Maisie Williams and Isaac Hampstead-Wright have literally grown up on the show and all the talking about it will surely leave you guys feeling terribly nostalgic, and appreciate the journey we have made with them all. © HBO From their most shocking scenes, to the most difficult and who gets to be their most favourite co-star, the 'The Cast Remembers' is the best(and worst) sort of goodbye video the makers of 'GOT' could have sent our way at this moment. Adios, amigos. But maybe, not yet.
  13. Netflix is a Pandora's box which keeps spoiling us with a million options to choose from. This week, if you're in for a bit of a sci-fi kick just like us, then here are 5 show recommendations that will give you a pretty edgy visual experience: 1. The OA If you didn't watch the first season when it came out around 3 years ago, then please prepare to binge-watch that first. For everyone else who was left on a cliffhanger with that weird metaphysical ending and hated Prairie for not letting us in on her fate, the second season is finally here and is supposed to be crazy. 2. Love, Death + Robots This is probably the most trending sci-fi show that everyone is talking about even if they haven't really watched it. This animated series has episodes with major underlying themes in all of them and is supposed to be worth your time. 3. The Order Consider this as a borrowed Harry Potter concept twisted with the sci-fi world. The series follows a college student who discovers a whole new world of scary creatures and is surrounded by only werewolves for company. 4. Russian Doll Not that it's a new addition to Netflix. It's been there for a while, but if you still haven't watched it, save it for a weekend binge. It will make you cringe and boggle your head when you follow the lead character's life span cycle which is like a roller coaster stuck on repeat. If you want to question scientific multidimensional reality and also like a bit of existentialism like 'Waiting For Godot', then just watch this. 5. Travellers This show follows a bunch of travellers who send their consciousness back in time to actually save the society from a downfall. A secret time travel show with a heroic mission thrown in? sure, sounds like a good watch.
  14. Success is something everyone strives for. Something for which people pour in all their hard work. And when it comes to finding success in sports, it's on a different level altogether. Always finding ways to improve, players and teams tend to give their best at every stage. Off lately, this immense level of competition has surfaced in the tennis circuit. Every player in the ATP Tour circuit has struggled their way to the top in some or the other tournament. Be it newcomers like Alex De Minaur, Laslo Djere or well-established players such as Novak Djokovic or Roger Federer, everyone has had their share in the record. It's probably for the first time that we are seeing 19 different champions in all the 19 tournaments held on the ATP circuit. It's really inspiring to see true competition and not just one player winning it all. 18 finals, 18 different champions on the #ATP Tour this season. Will Federer be the first to get to two titles or will Thiem be No.19? Via @ATPMediaInfo pic.twitter.com/4qtox7Mckd — TennisNow (@Tennis_Now) March 17, 2019 Last season, we witnessed a similar situation where every tournament on the tour was won by different players, but soon the streak came to an end when the 'GOAT', Roger Federer, won the Rotterdam Open right after grabbing his record 20th Grand Slam title at the Australian Open. Unlike the last season, it has been more ruthless for all the players this time around. Starting with Roberto Bautista Agut winning the Doha Open, today, it added Dominic Thiem, the 19th winner to the list, after his epic comeback win over Federer in the Indian Wells Final. Everyone thought this streak would be broken again by the Swiss Maestro but the breathtaking gameplay of the 'Dominator,' stole the show by 3-6, 6-3, 7-5 win and registered his name in the history books. © AP Another great thing about this season is that the title holders include a whole lot of young guns who won their first title on the tour. Starting off with Minaur winning in Sydney and Tennys Sandgren bagging the Auckland Open title, the list is followed by Juan Ignacio Londero in Cordoba, Reilly Opelka in New York, Laslo Djere in Rio and lastly, Radu Abolt and Guido Pella in Delray Beach and Sao Paulo respectively. The domination of the young lads on the tour can be taken as a warning for the established ones to pull up their socks as the competition would just get more fierce from here. With the next tournament being the Miami Open, let's hope we get to witness the rise of a new champion.
  15. Amitabh Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu starrer 'Badla' released today, and even though the movie is clashing at the box office with 'Captain Marvel', it has managed to find enough takers. 16. Remember how much outrage there was when it became mandatory for all movie theatres to play the National Anthem before every movie? Well, Air India is also now doing something slightly similar. According to an Air India advisory, that was issued to all the crew members yesterday, they now have to say 'Jai Hind' with a “slight pause and much fervour” after every single announcement that is made. 17. The Marvel universe is just that, a pure marvel. It boasts of a following that's no less religious about its super teams and superheroes, than the ones who believe in the existence of a higher order placed within holy shrines. An array of captivating movies and stunning characters have taken birth on-screen under the Marvel Studios banner over the years. From the 'X-Men' to 'Fantastic Four' and 'Spiderman' to 'Deadpool', Marvel universe's oeuvre is packed with the best of the best that there are in the arena. © Marvel Studios Yet, regardless of the marvellous stories, and powerful characters that have made their way to the silver screen over the years, with over close to 35 Oscar nominations to its credit, none of them actually came close to take the gilded dude home. However, Marvel's bad luck with Oscars seems to have come to an end as 'Black Panther' won an Oscar for the Best Costume Design in a Motion Picture. 'Black Panther' had earned seven Oscar nominations in the Academy Awards 2019, of which designer Ruth Carter's costume designs for the film brought home the gold! Not just that, Carter also became the first black woman to ever win under the Costume Design category. In her acceptance speech, Carter said, “ It's been my life's honor to create costumes. Thank you to the Academy. Thank you for honouring African royalty and the empowered way women can look and lead on screen.” Apart from costume design, 'Black Panther' also won an Oscar for Best Production Design in a Motion Picture. Production designer Hannah Beachler also happens to be the first black artist to not only win under this category but also get nominated in the category in the last 90 years. It seems 'Black Panther' was on a mission to make up for all of Marvel's lost chances, and went on to bag an Oscar for Best Score in Motion Picture, which was accepted by composer Ludwig Goransson. It's been a good day for the cast and crew of 'Black Panther' and the rest of us Marvel fanatics. Wakanda Forever!
  18. The announcement of the 91st Academy Awards on Tuesday evening happened to be big news for the country. 'Period. End of Sentence', a film set in India is now in contention for an Oscar for Best Documentary (Short Subject). The 25-minute long film is based on the subject of menstrual hygiene in India and has been directed by Iranian-American filmmaker Rayka Zehtabchi. via GIPHY We exclusively got into a conversation with the film's co-producer Guneet Monga (Monga's Sikhya Entertainment has backed films like The Lunchbox and Masaan). Guneet discussed various aspects of being a producer and the filming process. © Guneet Monga How does it feel like to be amongst the top five nominees of the Documentary Short Subject? It's a massive honour. It's a huge honour to be acknowledged by the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences. I don't know how to express it in words. It feels very humbling and I am very grateful that our friend has reached this level and I hope the whole world can watch it. I am very excited, happy and gratified more than anything. Just when a mainstream Bollywood film titled 'Padman' was made, what inspired you and your team to chose the film's theme based on menstrual hygiene? The more we speak about it, it is less. This topic should have a hundred more movies on it. Periods are a taboo. I think 'Padman' did a big thing about making the conversation normal. More power to more people doing this and I think a lot more needs to be done. When you will see the film you will get to know that people still don't freely talk about it and there is shame attached to it. This is a normal process for any woman. © Columbia Pictures This was a story that was moving and was chosen by the girls in LA who wanted to bring it forth. A few schoolgirls in LA aged 12 to 14, read an article that in India, girls don't get to go to school because of periods and also drop out of schools. They started with Yogathon and other campaigns to raise money for buying a pad machine. They then raised $40,000 to be able to make a movie. They hired Rayka to direct the movie. The whole team got ready to shoot this in India. And it was through one of their parents, who got in touch with me. That's how I became a producer on the film. I feel that there should be a hundred more movies on this subject. We are in no comparison with 'Padman', as the film did a great job in lifting the taboo. We are a small film, a 25 minute documentary with girls and their point of view. What's your take on creating and putting out stories with women in the centre? There should be more films/ documentaries to put girls up in the centre of the storytelling. We need to get acknowledged across the world through every storytelling medium. Given that we are half the world and we also run the world. You have also remained a BAFTA nominee and became one of the first Indian producers to join the producer branch of the Academy. Would you foster and root for more roles/ work opportunities for the Indians? Indians/Asians would love to have their stories told to the rest of the world. We tell our stories to the rest of the world. That's the world we come from and these are the stories we are capable of telling in hope to resonate with other people. What is the most challenging part when it comes to connecting Indian films with international buyers? The challenge comes with the way the deals are structured within India. This kind of limits the international buyers to be a part of it. Any upcoming projects you are working on? I am doing a lot of cool stuff, especially women stories. I am also starting my own YouTube channel by women for women, it is called ReDo. 'Period. End of Sentence' is a short film, which follows girls and women in Hapur in Uttar Pradesh and their experience with the installation of a pad machine in the village. via GIPHY The documentary highlights the fight by the rural women against the deeply rooted stigma of menstruation.
  19. As 2018 nears the end, we're quickly scrambling through the remains and making our way to a brand new succulent year. Not that 2018 wasn't good enough. Of course, it was. It gave us an absolute semblance of resolutions, we may have sought years before, but couldn't get ourselves to. Yes, I am outrightly talking about the very capable and famous #MeToo movement and the repercussions it had on 2018. © Twitter For me, #MeToo is not a 'movement' so to speak. It's an emotion. You may wonder why I am putting such a heavy tag on it. I call it an emotion only because it comes and it goes, as any other emotion would. A movement has a timeline, it stays in flux and goes away when the time is over for it. However, #MeToo is different. It's expressing your deepest intent whenever an emotional upheaval leaves you grappling for a resolve. It makes you establish contact and caresses your fear and lets it leave you be. That's what the women, who stood their ground and spoke about their experiences on a public forum believe, and it makes complete sense this year. © Twitter Although the movement started in the USA, India has also been a flag bearer, bearing all the powerful yet intense narrations that became an intrinsic part of our everyday survival. So, to format everything in lieu of the year we all just went through, here's a gushing reminder that no matter what, the #MeToo phenomenon is here to stay and it'll never break its tangibility. Here are 12 utmost pioneers of the #MeToo movement in India, who gave their stories life: (1) Tanushree Dutta, Actress She was the first to come forward this year and start traction about the movement, while naming and shaming one of the well established veteran actors Nana Patekar. This is what gave light to many other women who wanted a similar platform to narrate their stories. © Indiatime (2) Vinta Nanda, Writer-Producer A veteran writer-producer of the Avante-Garde 90's show Tara, has accused Alok Nath of sexually violating her almost two decades ago. It was a phenomenal stance she took but her story was heartbreaking, to say the least. © Twitter (3) Pallavi Gogoi, Priya Ramani & Ghazala Wahab, Journalists The three and of course many others came out with detailed accounts of alleged sexual misconduct carried out by MJ Akbar when he was at a senior editorial position at many media houses. Akbar though in denial of the charges filed a case of defamation against Priya Ramani, while the Editors Guild Of India has asked him to withdraw his defamation against the journalist. © Twitter (4) Nisha Bora, Journalist Jatin Das the artist/painter has been accused of sexual harassment by four women, out of which Nisha Bora happens to be the first, who assisted him around 1999-2000. Jatin Das denied the allegations stating he has nothing to do with these and that he's never met these women. © Twitter (5) Saloni Chopra & Simran Suri, Actresses The two actresses came out with their story stating Sajid Khan the famous director who sexually harassed them. Sajid has not accepted any of the accusations and has stated that he's waiting for the 'truth' to come out. Well, little does he know, the truth is already out! © Twitter (6) Payal Rohtagi, Actress Another actress accused Dibakar Banerjee, the director, of sexual misconduct in lieu of a film he wanted to cast her in, in 2011. He'd asked her to 'lift her shirt and show her stomach to him'. Payal was treated as an outcast in the industry when she made a noise about this back then and she didn't get a chance to audition for anything, again. © Twitter (7) Kangana Ranaut, Actress She came out speaking up against director Vikas Bahl and how he used to 'bury his face in her neck' and 'hold her really tight'. Even earlier he was accused of sexual misconduct in 2015 in Goa by a former employee of the film collective Phantom Films. © Twitter (8) Shweta Pandit, Singer Singer Shweta Pandit accused music director Anu Malik of sexually harassing her when she was 15! Alisha Chinai came forward to support the singer too and stated that every word written about Anu Malik is true. © Twitter (9) Sona Mohapatra, Singer The singer spoke up about Kailash Kher's misconduct towards her, claiming he once placed his hands on her thighs, without her permission. Apart from her, a female journalist came forward too and stated Kailash had misbehaved with her as well. He has obviously denied every accusation. © Twitter (10) Natasha Rathore, Filmmaker The filmmaker was sexually harassed by ad-man Suhel Seth. Seth is yet to issue a statement to clear the matter. © Twitter (11) Nishtha Jain, Film Maker The filmmaker came out with her story and accused journalist Vinod Dua of making lewd jokes, demeaning her during a job interview and trying to grab her against her will. © Twitter (12) Kaneez Surka The comedian accused a fellow comedian of forcibly kissing her on stage without her consent, using her tongue. Even though it was done by a woman, it still falls under misconduct because it was done sans consent. © Twitter India has been mighty brave in calling out some of the predators. While some women went all rogue with calling out the names of the men who've abused them, most of them were anonymous while they called the accused out. Whatever the case is, India is soon realising the importance of such a movement and believes it's not just to give them a judicial recourse but to name and shame them publicly so they're not acknowledged as respected citizens anymore. We're hoping more women come out and speak openly and boldly about men who've tried to tarnish their image and their soul. Here's to a more progressive nation and it's ideologies!
  20. Once upon a time, Micromax used to be among the top smartphone makers in India, but the brand is barely even seen today. The Indian company had its days of glory back in 2013 and 2014, but since the arrival of rivals like Xiaomi, OPPO, Vivo, and Moto, the homegrown company has lost its footing. They did try to make a comeback with a new brand - Yu Smartphones. But the brand just fizzled out within a few months. The primary issue behind Micromax's fall has been ignorance. With the onslaught of new players, the company failed to adapt to users needs. The days of one judging a phone based on just hardware are long gone. Consumers now care about what "skin" is running, and MIUI has been at the forefront. © Micromax Many users have made peace with Stock Android and that's the audience Nokia is trying to grab. With the new Infinity N12 and N11, Micromax has opted the same route. Though we still are pessimistic about timely updates. Both the phones feature a 6.2-inch HD+ (720x1500 pixels) notched display along with an 18.9:9 aspect ratio. The Infinity N series is powered by the MediaTek Helio P22 processor clocked at 2.0Ghz. The N12 has 3GB RAM and 32GB storage, with 128GB expandable storage support while the N11 has 2GB RAM, though the total storage remains 32GB storage. © Micromax The two also feature a fingerprint scanner and face recognition for authentication. The phones come with dual LTE and dual VoLTE support and a triple-card slot lets you also use a microSD card along. In the camera department, both the devices boast a dual camera setup with 13+ 5-megapixel depth sensor paired with LED flash on the rear. The N12 has a 16-megapixel wide angle lens while the N11 has an 8-megapixel sensor. The devices come with 4000mAh battery each with 30 hours of talk time being promised by Micromax. © Twitter / Sulabh Puri The N11 is priced at Rs 8,999 while the N12 has been marked at Rs 9,999. Both smartphones will go on sale through major online and offline stores across the country starting December 25.
  21. If you have grown up in an Indian household, then you know exactly what 'CID' means. The show was not just any TV serial we binge-watched while growing up (and still do), but something that was a part of all our lives. ACP Pradyuman and his iconic dialogue 'Daya darwaza todo' has been a part of lives for 21 years now. Sadly, as per latest reports, it turns out that the show is coming to an end this month and fans are clearly not happy. Dear @SonyTV please don't end CID. The last episode will air on 27th October, and while we hope that the show is revived, until then we have the re-runs to fuel our CID cravings.
  22. It was almost a decade ago that the world of avid sitcom hoggers was gifted by the marvel that came to be known as 'The Big Bang Theory' which is much more than just a sci-fi based sitcom. Now with the twelfth, and reportedly also the final season all set to hit the screens in another 28 days, 677 hours, 40620 minutes and 2437200 seconds, we can't seem to come to terms with the impending 'black hole' that would leave on our list of 'beloved series that shouldn't ever come to an end'. © Facebook The show has gifted its audience with a lot besides the obvious dibs at geekiness and a healthy scoop of nerd references we all love to pull off during our times of need. The show has turned into a life-coach of sorts over the years and there is just so much one could take away from it. © Facebook The news has pushed us to reminisce about all the golden decrees that the show has gifted the mankind with and here are 5 of the best ones that are fit to be accepted and applied by anybody, in any given situation. 1. Choose Friends Who See The Crazy In You & Still Decide to Stick Around via GIPHY The show is an epitome of how a true friend chooses to stay beside you even when he/she sees how messed up you can be in the head. Despite the disagreements you have, the “quirks” that come along with your OCD and even the most bizarre agreements and arguments you come up with to have things your way, a true friend would always choose to stick by your side. 2. It's Okay To Flaunt The Geek In You & To Top That Off With Introversion via GIPHY If we had to choose that one trope that proudly shoulders the X-factor of this show, it has to be its way of showing how the nerd culture can be cool as well. The show marvellously utilizes the academic jargon and geek humour to dismantle popular beliefs around geeks and introverts which makes them seem like social misfits when in reality their world is too fun with new theories to discover and greater inventions to be made. 3. There Is Always Some Room For Love & You Must Trust To Find It In The Most Awkward Places via GIPHY Another aspect of the show that's highly relatable is the possibility of finding love in our lives. The lead characters in the sitcom comprises of two physicists, an aerospace engineer and an astrophysicist along with an actress-cum-waitress, so it's only expected that love and relationships wouldn't top their priority list but their heart begs to differ. Though for them, love comes as an alien concept requiring different commitments and emotional explorations, we have seen the men face their demons and (struggle to) find love. 4. Honesty Is The Best Policy & You Mustn't Shy Away From Being Blunt With It via GIPHY With the kind of personalities each characters possesses it is only expected to witness a clash of beliefs that spur exceedingly mind-blowing, well backed up yet daft arguments on anything and everything. Sheldon is known to have a knack for the spoken word and he can be exceptionally brutal with his honesty during arguments and discussions that often leads to cathartic interludes for the audience. 5. It's Okay To Not Win At Everything Or Live Up To Popular Demands/Expectations Every character in the story comes with its sets of shortcomings that are seen as “flaws” by an ever judgemental society but thankfully none of the characters in the show are sorry about it. via GIPHY Be it Sheldon with his orderliness and OCD, Leonard with agitations and eccentricities, Raj with his social anxiety and selective muteness, Howard with his creepy overtures or Penny with her academic and professional lacking, every character displays the ideal mix of Yin and Yang in the plot. Every character brings to the fore the many, unexplored layers of an individual which can be best explained by the fact that while all the guys in the story maybe be great academically, yet Penny manages to teach them a lot about life that they are unaware of. via GIPHY It would be such a low to not have the guys back on the screens for a new season after this, but here's hoping for all the closures and a series of memorable anecdotes to take away from the final run of the upcoming 24 episodes in the final season.
  23. More often than not, the endings of Leonardo DiCaprio movies need some more explanation and context, be it confusion or just anger. One such movie is obviously 'Titanic' with the age-old claim that there was enough space for both of them on that door. Special mention – the twisted ending of 'Shutter Island'. But, probably the most confusing ending belongs to the even more confusing movie 'Inception'. Was it a dream or reality? Did Cobb finally go back to his family or did he just dream about that in the end? These are some questions that have been left unanswered for almost a decade and we may have finally gotten the answer. Let's just get a little background before we proceed to the ending. The movie basically follows a bunch of people who specialize in stealing information from someone's mind through their dreams. But, since that wasn't difficult and weird enough, they are then supposed to actually plant an idea in a powerful businessman's mind and as you know, things don't really go exactly as they were planned. Since it's so easy for the lines between reality and dreams to become blurred, Leo's character uses a spinning top – fully aware that it spins forever in a dream but would topple if the situation is reality. In the end, though, we can see the top as it clearly kept spinning and the possibility of a happy ending becoming unclear. The mind-bending masterpiece of a movie by none other than Christopher Nolan came out eight years ago but that ending has never given us any proper answers. The supposed cliff-hanger is frustrating to say the least, but Michael Caine has finally cleared up some doubts. The actor gave everyone a little behind-the-scenes intel while attending the screening of the movie in London. “When I got the script of Inception, I was a bit puzzled by it, and I said to him, 'I don't understand where the dream is,'” Caine explained. He went on, “I said, 'When is it the dream and when is it reality?' He said, 'Well, when you're in the scene it's reality.' So, get that — if I'm in it, it's reality. If I'm not in it, it's a dream.” That's actually a good point which makes things so much easier. Let's go back to that ending once again with this newfound information, shall we? Michael Caine may have been missing from most of the movie but he was in that ending scene, so if we're going by his explanation, the happy ending was real and Leo finally went back home to his kids!
