  1. Some people have stopped talking about 'Avengers: Endgame', but not us. It's been almost a week since the official spoiler ban was lifted by none other than the Russo Brothers and Chris Evans being just like his character, waited till then to share a lot of behind the scenes stuff from the biggest movie ever, unlike his fellow actors like Robert Downey Jr, Chris Pratt, and Elizabeth Olsen. Does that mean I can start posting set videos on Monday? https://t.co/X9c946pFW6 — Chris Evans (@ChrisEvans) May 2, 2019 Yes, the most responible one. Which is obviously WAY cooler than being the most handsome, funny, or talented. Take note, other Chrises. Losers. https://t.co/vG0JGheowM — Chris Evans (@ChrisEvans) May 3, 2019 So, I wanted to wait till Chris himself was done sharing a bunch of stuff from the sets of Endgame to compile a list of all of the BTS stuff, and here we go! Look at all the rule breakers, all the rebels. Video ban lifted! I guess I'm not the only one who broke the rules on this day of filming. (My camera work is annoyingly shaky) pic.twitter.com/D0f0e2PnXo — Chris Evans (@ChrisEvans) May 6, 2019 He was pacing himself. Part 2 pic.twitter.com/Vm5FNMvncr — Chris Evans (@ChrisEvans) May 8, 2019 Yep, that's it. This is like a Where's Waldo picture. I see Hulk, Antman, Thor, Hawkeye, Doctor Strange, Shuri, Okoye, and Falcon. pic.twitter.com/GuDwZEmegV — Chris Evans (@ChrisEvans) May 9, 2019 Umm. Halfway there pic.twitter.com/frBsW4x4hQ — Chris Evans (@ChrisEvans) May 10, 2019 Now, it's RDJ's turn and we all know he does what he wants and has been sharing stuff since the movie came out. 2. Anthony J. Russo and Joseph Vincent Russo are the people who have been the nerdy yet fantastic brains behind the process of taking the amalgamated Marvel Cinematic Universe to the next level of epic-ness when they were given the responsibility of making one of the most important characters of the MCU likable again with 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier'. So it is safe to say that the two bros know exactly what they were doing during the events of 'Avengers: Endgame'. They even shot multiple endings to continue to keep the cast and crew confused about the real manner in which the film would conclude just to avoid leaks and spoilers. Having said that, they were themselves confused between two endings in particular but finally decided to go ahead with the one that we got to see in the theatres (hopefully). In the official ending, Tony Stark takes away the Infinity Stones from Thanos, puts them in the Infinity Gauntlet of his own and snaps his fingers to decimate the Mad Titan and the rest of his Chitauri army. Overwhelmed with the Stones, Stark suffers irreversible damage while protecting trillions of others spread around the universe and peacefully passes away amidst Peter Potts, Peter Parker and the rest of his closest buddies. However, according to the details disclosed by the Russo brothers recently, the alternate ending would have taking Stark's consciousness to the 'Soul Stone' realm after the snap, just like Thanos did at the end of Infinity War and met a young Gamora. There, Stark would have met his an adult version of his daughter, Morgan Stark, played by '13 Reason Why' star, Katherine Langford who would have forgiven him for taking the lives of Thanos and his army because it was done to protect the rest of the universe. According to the directors, the scene would have complicated the movie for the audience furthermore and they wanted to shoot Iron Man's final scene with faces the audience was already familiar with, in order to make it more emotional and personal instead of Langford, whom people would have seen for the very first time in the MCU. Having said that, the fact that the Russo Bros cared so deeply about the character of a grown up Morgan suggests a very interesting theory about the post credit scene of Endgame. After the credits roll over the screen, we get to hear the sound of someone hammering metal. This is the exact sound bite from the very first Iron Man movie when Stark makes his very first suit, the Mark 1, to get out of the hands of the terrorist group known as Ten Rings. Now, according to the Russo brothers, the idea of putting this sound bite at the end came directly from Kevin Feige, who is probably the only constant member of the MCU who worked from behind-the-scenes in every movie made by Marvel. Maybe, Feige wanted to hint the audience about the possibility of the return of Iron Man during Phase 4 of the MCU, but not with Tony Stark as the person inside the suit, but with his daughter, Morgan Stark. Maybe, this is why the Russo brothers also wanted to introduce Katherine Langford's character into the MCU at the end of Phase 3 so that the people know who to cheer for when she dons a badass suit, swooping past her fellow Avengers on an AC/DC song, just like her father used to.
  3. A lot of people were disappointed to see Thor not being his usual buff self in 'Avengers: Endgame', but not us. (Sorry) Thor with his beer belly and man boobs easily became one of the most unexpected things in the movie and turns out that a lot of people were not on board with his new look. But, when it came to the actor himself, he was apparently totally psyched for Thor's new look. Talking about how Chris Hemsworth reacted to his new story arc in Endgame, Joe Russo said, “Hemsworth is up for anything, he likes to take risks.” Anthony Russo added, “Before the script was ready, when we called him to pitch the character arc, he was either still finishing or had just finished Ragnarok. But he was so energised by the work he had done with Taika [Waititi] in that movie in terms of coming up with a more comedic and irreverent Thor.” Joe continued, “And we were like, 'wait until you hear what we've got for you'.” And, we obviously know what they had got for him. After losing everything because of Thanos in 'Avengers: Infinity War', he failed at stopping the snap in the end as well. He looked so defeated in the beginning of 'Endgame' because he was talking the blame for half the population vanishing personally since he couldn't stop the giant purple grape. After he somewhat got his revenge - he finally went for the head! - it still wasn't bringing anyone back. It seemed like Thor had slipped into depression and as a result, became an alcoholic trying to cope up with everything in the five-year time jump. Five years worth of beer will obviously take a toll on anyone's body, even a God's. While a lot of people were disappointed at Marvel 'ruining Thor', I feel like it was a really realistic story arc for him. It wasn't done for any comedic effect, it seemed very relatable - losing everything and then trying to deal with that - or not deal with that - through alcohol. Even the Russo brothers intended the new Thor to be as inspiring as the old Thor. He has had to deal with so much trauma, and that too in such a short amount of time. The brothers said, “Joe and I love subversion and to take the God who looks like a God and find a way to subvert that and re-invent the character… We find 'fat Thor' as inspiring as any version of Thor because he's so relatable.” And, lastly, they said, “It's a very human version of the character.” Moreover, there was also no body-shaming, he did not go through a transformation before the epic final battle becasue one, it's not romcom that's perpetuating that toxic trope, and two, even with the weight, he's still one of the most powerful Avenger. The weight was never his problem and he did not need to lose it after getting some peace of mind about all the tragedies. The movie's screenwriter Christopher Markus once explained, "We leave him in that state at the end of the movie. Even though he's emotionally resolved. We fix his problem, and it's not his weight … And I think he is the ideal Thor at the end of the movie, and he's carrying some weight.” Even Chris himself was once quoted saying, “I wanted to do something different this time. Each film I've wanted to, in particular, the last couple, and [the Russos] were on board. They were on board and we sat for many hours and days and discussed kind of how far we could push it and what we could do differently.” Well lastly, fat Thor reminded me of this -
  4. 'Avengers: Endgame' was incredible, yes, but we were still robbed of a very important scene that would have made it even better, IMHO. Apparently, a Thor vs Thor sequence was being planned, but it ultimately never saw the light of the day. Not cool, Marvel, we deserved to see Thor kicking his own ass. Now that the spoiler ban is lifted, the Russo Brothers are openly talking about everything 'Endgame'-related and the topic of an almost fight scene also came up. During an interview on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, the directors talked about a fight scene they had originally planned between Thor and well, Thor, but it would have been “Lebowski Thor facing off against Buff Thor”. Joe Russo said, “We did have a sequence where they finally confront each other in Asgard. I can't remember exactly why we moved off it,” with Anthony Russo adding, “I think it got overly complicated and we liked Cap vs Cap better.” Well, considering how much they had to perfectly execute in one movie and how the Cap vs Cap scene was one of the best things about the movie, it's okay to let this one slide. As much as I would've loved to see the showdown between the Thors, Cap's very self-aware fight with the 2012 version of him was great. Joe said, “Once you start developing it, you can see how crowded it gets. We wanted to make sure we had story space to create real conflict for the Avengers that were going back [in time].” Moreover, we maybe got a better storyline with present-day Thor going back in time to collect the Reality Stone from Asgard. The conversation he had with his mother was extremely important for him and you could really see it during the rest of the movie. A Thor who had lost everyone, and also lost the chance to kill Thanos in time had just given up, he was down in the dumps and Frigga really did help him out, and honestly, no one other than his own mother could've helped him at that point. And, that's exactly what the Russos also intended. Anthony said, “I think there we also deferred to the storyline of Thor and his mother, which was more resonate. That was more part of Thor's journey and repair than confronting his former self.”
  5. In just a week after becoming the fastest film to gross more than $1 billion worldwide, Marvel's 'Avengers: Endgame' is well on its way to beat James Cameron's 'Avatar' and become the highest grossing film ever. That's right, 'Avengers: Endgame' has crossed the $2 billion mark in record time and has already beaten 'Titanic' to become the second highest-grossing film ever worldwide. We reckon 'Endgame' is likely to beat 'Avatar' because it's been adding millions of dollars every day. The blockbuster is racking up numbers at an unbelievable rate, really. 'Avatar' reached $2 billion in 47 days of release, whereas 'Avengers: Endgame' managed to pull it off in just 11 days. 'Endgame' has already beaten the likes of 'Titanic' and 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens', both of which have been holding their spots for quite some time now. We think it's only a start of what should be an unprecedented box office run. © Marvel Even, say, if there's a considerable drop-off in the coming weeks due to the arrival of 'Detective Pikachu' and 'Godzilla: King of the Monsters', we're pretty optimistic that it'll hit the numbers over a period of time. Unlike 'Avatar', which was a one-of-a-kind 3D sci-fi epic known for it's CGI interacts. 'Avengers: Endgame' marks the end of a saga. It ends phase 3 of MCU, so the film will continue to be a massive draw for a number of weeks to come. Not to mention, the die-hard MCU fans will want to experience the three-hour long movie again, leading to repeat viewings. © Marvel And as the crowd continues to watch it, more casual audiences may check it out to see what the buzz is all about. Who'd want to miss a blockbuster after all? According to the recent numbers reflected on Wikipedia, 'Avengers: Endgame' has currently grossed $2,188,698,638 worldwide. It's shy of roughly $500 million to top 'Avatar'. Considering the fact that the movie managed to do so much in just 11 days, we're pretty excited to see how the movie does in the next few weeks.
  6. 'Avengers: Endgame' turned out to be one of the most well-received films at the global box-offices in recent times. MCU fans thronged the movie theatres in Brobdingnagian waves, underlining the loyal (and almost fanatic) fanbase the franchise enjoys across the globe. For proof, get this. In the very first week of its release, 'Avengers: Endgame' rocked the box office with collections that went well beyond Rs 260 crore. Not just that but it has also managed to break quite a few filmy records, not just in India, but internationally too. © Marvel Studios In India, Salman Khan starrer 'Sultan' enjoys the highest first week box office collection at Rs 208.82 crore, followed by 'Tiger Zinda Hai' at Rs 206.04 crore and Ranbir Kapoor starrer 2018 hit 'Sanju' at Rs 202.51 crore. 'Baahubali 2' was the only film to challenge these numbers with it's first week box office earnings touching Rs 247 crore. However, Marvel's 'Avengers: Endgame' has outdone each one of those milestones by a good margin, even exceeding the success of 'Avengers: Infinity War', which had collected Rs 226 crore in India. © Marvel Studios 'Avengers: Endgame' has managed to wipe out numerous lifetime numbers in the blink of an eye, by becoming the fastest movie to gross 2 billion dollars at the box office in just 11 days. It became the second highest grosser of all times after crossing 'Titanic' with 2.18 billion dollars. Here are the four other all-time biggies to achieve this feat, making 'Avengers: Endgame' the fifth film to score over 2 billion dollars at the box office so quickly. 1. Avatar © Lightstorm Entertainment The 2009 science fiction epic film directed by James Cameron had earned 2.78 billion dollars. 2. Titanic © Paramount Pictures The 1997 epic romance and disaster film, also directed by James Cameron, has 2.18 billion dollars to its credit. 3. Star Wars: The Force Awakens © Walt Disney Studios J. J. Abrams' 2015 epic space-opera film bagged a whopping 2.06 billion dollars at the box office. 4. Avengers: Infinity War © Marvel Studios The superhero film and 'Endgame' predecessor pocketed a total of 2.04 billion dollars in 2018. Even by Bollywood standards, 'Endgame', with its estimated Rs 375 crore collection, surpasses the lifetime earnings of a number of blockbuster Bollywood flicks by a huge margin. With 'Sanju' at Rs 342.53 crore, 'PK' at Rs 340.8 crore and 'Tiger Zinda Hai' Rs 339.25 crore, 'Endgame' might soon turn these numbers into history. However, the fight might still go strong against Bollywood's highest grosser of all times, 'Dangal', which had bagged Rs 387.38 crore in its lifetime.
  7. A teacher holds a very special place in our hearts, only second to our parents and family members. Teachers help shape our lives in our formative years, guide us with what's wrong and what's right. However, being a teacher or dealing with unruly kids is not a cakewalk. It is, in fact, the hardest thing in the world. If you get too strict, your class starts hating you. If you become too lenient, they start taking you for granted. But, one teacher has cracked the code of bringing some discipline in the class, although the Russo Brothers wouldn't approve of that method. Marvel Studios Every teacher has his or her own method to punish kids, but nothing can get as brutal as this teacher who threatened to drop 'Avengers: Endgame' spoilers if the students got too loud. This Reddit user's teacher warned the class that if the students got too rowdy, then he will start dropping spoilers one by one. In the post, we can see two blank spaces and clearly the students took it as a joke and that's when Thanos and Thor came in the picture. Reddit Turns out, this is not the only teacher who came up with such a savage idea. Ever since 'Avengers: Endgame' was released, almost every other teacher is using this trick to either control the class, punish them or getting things done from them. Me if I was teacher #endgame pic.twitter.com/0RMBI8xihx — Dasal (@ADasalbtw) April 26, 2019 Reddit Thank God, our desi teachers still use conventional methods of punishment. Becoming a 'murga' or standing outside the class might be embarrassing, but it's better than getting a spoiler from the biggest Marvel movie.
  8. I feel like the pressure on 'Spider-Man: Far From Home' is simply increasing by the day, because it's the first Marvel Cinematic Universe movie to come out after 'Avengers: Endgame'. Imagine you're in a talent competition and you find out you're going after say, Beyonce! And, no, this is not me hating on 'Spider-Man', that's not the case. Just stating a fact. But, we know the movie will do good because people love Tom Holland and his portrayal of Peter Parker. But, since it's coming out so soon after 'Endgame', it is bound to be connected to the movie, especially since Peter Parker is basically Tony Stark's 'ward'. Since it's confirmed that the events of 'Far From Home' take place shortly after the events of 'Endgame', it's not just the movie that will have spoilers for 'Endgame', but the trailer as well. Reportedly, the next trailer for 'Far From Home' - which is expected to drop on 6th May - might contain spoilers about 'Avengers: Endgame'. And, Marvel has reportedly decided to be nice for once and put a spoiler warning before the trailer, and Tom Holland himself will do the honours of that. Apparently, right before the trailer, a clip of Tom Holland will come and warn people about the spoilers. Yes, I see the irony, Tom Holland, the guy infamous for giving spoilers, will give a spoiler warning. 'ENDGAME' SPOILERS AHEAD I think it's safe to assume that 'Far From Home' will have Peter mourning and coping with Tony Stark's death but will they bring that right up in the trailer? Quite possible. Or maybe, the trailer will show that some people at Peter's school are now five years older, since it's not possible that every single one of them disintegrated after 'Avengers: Infinity War'. Side note: How is it possible that all of Peter's friends got disintegrated and then came back? I mean, it was a random selection of half the population but all of them seem to be back and are the same age, while we saw in 'Endgame' that everyone else who didn't turn to dust was five years older now. Is this a possible plot hole? Also, Marvel, please don't show Peter crying because of Tony's death, it'll be too hard to deal with. One more possibility for the 'Endgame' connection in 'Far From Home' is Mysterio's abilities, which include special effects and illusions, so what if he uses Tony, to manipulate Peter? That seems quite possible but it's also so brutal. Whatever it is, we'll just have to wait till Monday to find out. 'Spider-Man: Far From Home' will release on July 2nd.
  9. Everyone knows that Robert Downey Jr has made Marvel and MCU what it is today with his exceptional portrayal of Tony Stark. For years, we've all been saying that this man has literally been carrying MCU and even he knows it for sure. Just look at his profile picture on Instagram right now! I honestly can't imagine MCU without him, and I'm sure I'm not the only one. But, today is not the time to get sad, it's the first 'Iron Man' movie's 11th anniversary and it's the perfect opportunity to celebrate Tony Stark. The most memorable thing about him though is his quips and one-liners, and we all know he loves his pop culture references. So, here's a list of some of the best dialogues that were delivered by RDJ so flawlessly as Tony Stark. 1. I am Iron Man The line that started it all. (And, ended it all as well, but more on that later) 2. Cheeseburger first What do you want after being in captivity for three months? A cheeseburger, of course! A great line from 'Iron Man' that is now a little too emotional after 'Endgame'. 3. I told you I don't want to join your super secret boyband Just imagine if the Avengers actually moonlighted as a boyband? I would go for every show, tbh. 4. Genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist Stupid question, Cap. He's way more than just a suit. 5. Doth mother know you weareth her drapes? A perfect burn, Tony doesn't care that Thor is a God, he will roast everyone. 6. We have a Hulk Loki's army vs the Hulk, we know how that worked out. Also, Loki saying that again at the beginning of 'Infinity War' was a great callback to this moment in the first 'Avengers'. 7. I'm a huge fan of the way you lose control and turn into an enormous green rage monster I think we all are, except for Bruce Banner, of course. 8. If you're nothing without this suit then you shouldn't have it As we established before, Tony is obviously much more than his suit and that's the lesson he wants his 'ward' to have in 'Homecoming'. 9. I'm sorry, Earth is closed today Sarcastic remarks, the perfect way to get some aliens to leave you alone, a lesson by Tony Stark. 10. Uh, he's from space, he came here to steal a necklace from a wizard Remember that 'badly explain a movie trend' on Twitter? Tony would honestly, excel at it. 11. If you throw another moon at me, I'm gonna lose it Yeah, one moon per person is the limit, everyone knows that. 'ENDGAME' SPOILERS AHEAD 12. You know what, give me a break, Steve. I just got hit in the head with a Hulk (Representational gif, if that's even a thing) Who can forget one of the best scenes from 'Endgame'? Cap fighting Cap and Tony getting hit by the Hulk. 13. I love you 3000 A very heartwarming and heartbreaking quote. Brb, crying. 14. Part of the journey is the end Okay, Tony had a lot of great moments in the movie, but now everything is just sad because the Earth has lost its best defender for good. 15. I am Iron Man Yes, we're coming full circle with his dialogues. I'm still surprised this almost wasn't in the movie but I'm so glad it made it. Also, he is and will forever be Iron Man.
  10. Spoilers ahead. If I ask any Marvel fan which quote started the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe, they would tell me one thing - He's fucking Iron Man and he wants the world to know that! This was such a huge defining moment for the MCU. What a line, so simple yet so powerful, and it made the first 'Iron Man' movie so much better. Side note, Happy Birthday to the first Iron Man movie! 'I am Iron Man', the last line spoken in the first 'Iron Man' movie made a comeback in 'Avengers: Endgame' as well, of course. 'Iron Man' was RDJ's first appearance as the iconic character that changed the world of Marvel forever and 'Endgame' marked the last time, sadly. So, it's kind of symbolic to see everything come full circle, just like his character arc did. But, it came as such a surprise to me that the iconic line almost didn't make it to the movie. In the last moment, during the final battle in 'Endgame', Thanos finally has the gauntlet with all the Infinity Stones and says “I am inevitable”. At that moment, all hope was lost for a second and we thought everyone would disintegrate again when Thanos snaps his fingers again. But, Tony Stark comes to the rescue and prevents the repeat of the final 'Infinity War' scene. He steals - very sneakily, I might add - all the stones from Thanos and delivers the one line, the best line at that moment - 'I am Iron Man' - right before snapping his fingers and making Thanos and his entire army disintegrate. Turns out, that line was actually a last minute addition. He originally wasn't supposed to say anything, but the Russo Brothers talked about how difficult it was to nail the final line. They said, “We were in the editing room going, 'He has to say something. This a character who has lived and died by quips.' And we just couldn't, we tried a million different last lines.” Then, Jeff Ford, the Russo Brothers' right-hand man and editor on 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier', 'Civil War', 'Avengers: Infinity War', and 'Endgame' gave the best suggestion - “Why don't we just go full circle with it and say 'I am Iron Man'?” They loved it so much that they immediately went, “Get the cameras! We have to shoot this tomorrow.” And, the rest is history. I would personally like to thank Jeff because without that final line in 'Endgame', the movie wouldn't have been the same.
  11. Spoilers ahead. Read at your own risk. In the final scene of 'Avengers: Endgame', Captain America, who is now old and grey after returning the Infinity Stones to their respective timelines, hands over his iconic Vibranium shield away to Sam. But, here's the thing: this scene might not be the end of the first Avenger. In a recent interview, 'Endgame' directors Joe and Anthony Russo have hinted towards the return of Chris Evans as Captain America. This may not come as a surprise considering the number of Easter eggs in the movie. © Marvel While speaking to a leading publication about Captain America, the Russo brothers spoke about Captain's solo trip back in time to return the Infinity Stones to their original places. But, in the present, he arrives as an old man, who used his second chance to finally live his life with the love of his life, Peggy Carter for their happy ever after. So, the obvious question here is was Captain America living in the past this whole time? Turns out, in his time travels, he found another dimension to live in with Agent Carter. “If Cap were to go back into the past and live there, he would create a branched reality,” Joe Russo said. “The question then becomes, how is he back in this reality to give the shield away?” he added. © Getty Images Which is what we wondered too. But here's how they responded to that. “Maybe there's a story there," he said, a big hint that his journey is not over yet. "There's a lot of layers built into this movie," he continued, "and we spent three years thinking through it, so it's fun to talk about it and hopefully fill in holes for people so they understand what we're thinking.” Obviously, we did not get any confirmations. But the answers clearly leave a big room for the possibility of a 'Captain America 4' someday, maybe. How else do we join the dots? And to tell this story and fill the gaps, Evans could possibly return to the franchise, hopefully. His best friend, Bucky Barnes could possibly know the behind story, considering the way he bid goodbye to Cap. Is it possible that they met in the past? What do you guys think?
  12. The whole world is going crazy over 'Avengers: Endgame', so much so that a fan landed in hospital for crying uncontrollably during the movie. Someone was beaten up outside a movie hall for giving away spoilers. Yup, that's right! That's the kind of impact the film has had on people across the globe. Marvel Studios Well, the movie has earned more than $1.2 billion in its first week, so you can expect nothing but the best. Looks like everyone wants to know how the remaining superheroes fight Thanos to 'avenge the fallen'. But, there's someone who isn't excited about 'Endgame' at all. In fact, she thinks it's one of the most boring films ever made. Instagram We are talking about columnist and novelist, Shobhaa De. BTW, she wrote 'End Game' instead of 'Endgame' while ranting about the movie. Calling it a multi-million dollar joke, she wrote, "Avengers: End Game. Should never have begun! 13. This copy contains Massive, Major, Mega spoilers, so please walk away if you still have not seen 'Avengers: Endgame'. Okay. So, I've seen 'Avengers: Endgame' three times already over the weekend? Can you blame me? You can't consume all that awesomeness in one sitting. I mean, the first time I watched, pretty sure I blacked out at some point and could barely hear anything over the sound of my own screams. The second watch helped me process the movie a little better, and the third time, I was just sitting back and enjoying the reaction from the audience at all those moments where I had lost it during my first watch. By the time I saw 'Endgame' a third time, a few quotes and one-liners had already stuck by me, and for a very good reason too. Given the kind of reaction these dialogues got from the audience, pretty sure they enjoyed it as much as I did. So, here are 20 quotes, quips and one-liners from 'Endgame' that blew my mind, along with the rest of the audience's as well: 1. Before You Didn't Have Me. © Marvel Part of Carol Danvers' awesomeness comes from her insane confidence, which was on full display in this quote. We have the distressed Avengers discussing their next plan of action after Thanos wipes of 50 per cent of the planet, and Bruce Banner tries to reason with the team when they decide to go against Thanos one more time, saying “how do we know it's going to end any differently than it did before?”. To which Captain Marvel responds with this badass quote. 2. Let's Go Get This Sonofabitch. © Marvel Is there any better sound in this world than Captain America using profanities? When the Avengers decide to go kick Thanos' butt again, we have Steve Rogers saying this, and I couldn't help but yell “LANGUAGE!” 3. I Went For The Head. © Marvel I will not lie, I punched myself in the face here. I did not see it coming, man. Thor slicing the head off Thanos in one clean stroke, damn! Also, this quote is super significant given that Thanos had taunted Thor in 'Infinity War' when he struck the Titan in the chest, saying “You should have gone for the head.” 4. DAB! Who would have imagined seeing the Hulk dab one day? Not me. Which is why watching 'Professor' Hulk dab along with a bunch of kids and taking selfies was such an unbelievable yet adorable thing. The best of Bruce Banner + the best of the Hulk = Professor Hulk. 5. I Just Want Peace. © Marvel When Tony Stark finally figures out Time Travel successfully and rushes to the Avengers Headquarters, you see him being greeted by Captain America, who looks a little taken aback given their previous encounter, where Tony had flatly refused from participating in any Time Travel-based missions. As a justification for changing his mind, Tony simply holds up a peace sign with his finger and says this sassy line. 6. What's Up Regular-Sized Man? Man, I just love Scott Lang, ever since the first 'Ant-Man' movie. His comic timing is so on point that I can't even. However, this time, the tables turn when Rhodey lands in his War Machine suit right in front of Scott's face, and the poor guy almost gets a heart attack. 7. You Look Like Melted Ice-Cream. © Marvel I must say, watching overweight Thor walk around dejected and depressed with that jiggling beer belly damn near broke my heart. Sure, it was funny when Rocket made fun of him with this quote, but still, some sympathy would have been nice. But hey, who am I kidding? If I want sympathy, Rocket is the last racoon I'm gonna get it from. 8. You Want To Go To Space, Puppy? I'll Take You To Space! Rocket really let Scott have it with this condescending quote, but can't really blame him. Scott was being rreeallly painfully slow here when the Avengers were discussing the locations of the Infinity stones across space. So, when Scott says, “A planet? Like in outer space?”, Rocket rips him a new one. 9. Hail Hydra. © Marvel Ohmygod! This was so cool. When these words left Captain America's mouth, I went partially deaf thanks to the screaming bloke next to me. It was bloody brilliant though. Cap playing along with the Hydra infiltrators instead of just kicking their ass like he did in 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier', was epic. 10. I Can Do This All Day. Yeah, I Know! © Marvel When the Present Captain America faces Past Captain America, well, fireworks were expected. However, no one expected it to turn downright funny when Cap from the past shoots his infamous line at, what he thinks is Loki in disguise, to which the present, more jaded Cap replies less enthusiastically. 11. I Am Still Worthy! This was super emotional for me, I must confess. After watching Thor being at his most dejected self, which has clearly taken a toll on him both mentally and physically, this moment when he finally redeems himself, was brilliant. Thor goes back in time to Asgard to retrieve the Reality Stone, when right before leaving for the present, he has a stroke of brilliance and summons Mjolnir (still intact as Hella has not arrived yet). You can see the joy he feels when he is reconnected with his old hammer which leads him to say these powerful words. 12. Let's Kill Him Properly This Time. © Marvel Thor reminds the Avengers that 'this time', while they are facing Thanos again, they will have no option but to take him out for good, unlike the last time in 'Infinity War' where Thor did not go for his head. 13. I KNEW IT! Watching the audience losing it was nothing compared to Thor's reaction when Captain America wielded Mjolnir. I swear, it was the most badass moment in any Marvel movie I have ever seen. Electric Captain America. God, I was not ready for it. 14. Avengers, Assemble Another orgasmic moment from the movie. You're lying if you're telling me you didn't clap, whistle or hoot like a maniac when Captain America said these words, as all the dusted superheroes came back after the snap was undone by Bruce. Thanos did not see this coming! 15. Don't Worry, She's Got Help. What a girl power moment, am I right? With Thanos from the past, wreaking havoc in the present-day Earth, trying to get his hands on the new gauntlet made by the Avengers with all the Infinity Stones, we have Spider-Man looking bruised and battered, clutching the Gauntlet for dear life, and who swoops in to take over? Captain Marvel. Peter looks a little unsure about her plan looking at the battlefield and says, “I don't know how you're going to get through all of that,” to which the confident Okoye responds with this kickass dialogue. And then one by one, all the other female MCU characters appear and man, what a scene! 16. I Am Inevitable. And I Am Iron Man. I am confident I was not the only one whose heart was in their throats at this scene! After Thanos tosses Tony Stark to the side after a pretty intense grappling session, now armed with the Gauntlet, he says “I am inevitable”, and for a moment, all is lost as he snaps his fingers. But lo and behold! The gems are missing and then we see Tony revealing how he had stolen the Stones and planted them on his own armoured glove during their fight and delivers this incredible line. Raise your hands if you got goosebumps! 17. We Won Mr Stark. You Did It, Sir. Remember, “Mr Stark…I don't feel so good?”, how we were all left an emotional mess and felt we could never recover? Well, this was a million times worse. After Tony snaps his fingers and turns Thanos and his army to dust, we immediately see the life beginning to sap out of him as the Gauntlet had taken a toll on his mortal form. Peter runs to Tony and tries to console his hero, his mentor, who is taking his last breath and dying right before his eyes. Sorry…brb…I can't …. 18. Tony, We'll Be Okay. You Can Rest Now. © Marvel Hands down, the most gut-wrenching scene from the movie. Tony is dying on the battlefield after defeating Thanos, and is surrounded by everyone he loves, and Pepper helps him go in peace as she holds him and assures him that he did his job and they were all going to be okay. You're made of stone if this scene didn't reduce to a blubbering mess! 19. I Love You 3000. Watching Tony be a dad in the second half was one of the most fulfilling and beautiful scenes in the movie. Even though Thanos destroyed half the world, from that darkness, Tony managed to find a slice of happiness in the form of a family, which included his baby daughter Morgan. She tells him at one point, that she loves him three thousand, which he then gloats to Pepper, saying their daughter clearly loves him more than her. So, when the Avengers are at Iron Man's funeral, they play a video Tony had recorded for everyone right before they went against Thanos, just in case he died, and he repeats his daughter's line right back to her. 20. Your Dad Loved Cheeseburgers. In one of the closing scenes, right after Iron Man's funeral, we see Happy sitting with Tony's daughter Morgan and asking her if she is hungry, to which she replies that she is indeed and that she would like to have a cheeseburger. A smiling Happy then delivers this simple yet powerful line and promises to get her all the cheeseburgers she wants. This took me right back to the first 'Iron Man' movie, when Tony returns home after he escapes from his captors and says there are two things he wants, a press conference and….you guessed it right… a cheeseburger! Clearly, this moment between Happy and Morgan was a nod to Tony making a complete turnabout in his life during that press conference where he announced to the world that he was not going to make weapons of mass destruction anymore, whilst having a cheeseburger. Oh God, the feels!!
  14. Now that 'Avengers: Endgame' has made it to the list of top ten highest-grossing films of all time, it's safe to say that the movie has already made a dent in the box office. But if that wasn't a big deal for you, then here are some mind-boggling figures that tell us how much “The Avengers” earned from the flick. The folks over at the THR managed to get a hold of some classified info and they've revealed how much the Avengers stars have earned from the movie. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Avengers: Endgame (@avengers) on Mar 26, 2019 at 10:12am PDT Robert Downey Jr., who played the role of Iron Man for over 10 years to become the face of the franchise, is said to have walked away with the fattest paycheck of about $75 million for Infinity War, which roughly translates to over Rs 524 crores. Yes, Downey has apparently signed a unique financial negotiation with Marvel to 'receive backend profit on the series'. If that wasn't enough, Downey is said to have earned as much as $5 million per day for a three-day work schedule on 'Spider-Man: Homecoming'. Meanwhile, Chris Hemsworth, who signed a five-year deal with Marvel Studios in 2010 for the role of Thor is said to draw a salary of $15 million to $20 million (Rs 140 Crore). Captain America, played by Chris Evans, apparently renegotiated his deal with the studio before Endgame, and his pay scale is also said to stand between $15 million to $20 million. © Marvel Scarlett Johansson is also said to be drawing figures in the $20 million range for her role of Black Widow in the MCU. She'll soon be starring and producing a standalone Black Widow movie. As for the other MCU stars, the bonuses and earnings are structured around the franchise's box office run. While we don't have the complete picture in front of us, these figures give us an idea of how much each of these stars are drawing from the franchise's popularity. Things are only going to get interesting in the MCU, as a lot of these characters will return for shows that have been planned for Disney+.
  15. Spoilers. The Marvel Cinematic Universe has a long-standing tradition of heavily manipulating their trailers, especially when it comes to movies like 'Avengers: Infinity War' and 'Avengers: Endgame'. Or, maybe it's just the Russo brothers being very extra. We all know how much of a secret the plot of 'Endgame' was, as even the actors weren't given full scripts and the Russo brothers even made some of them shoot fake scenes to keep them in the dark. Yes, they went to extreme lengths to keep everything under wraps so obviously, they wouldn't have undone all of that by just straight up giving away scenes in the trailers, teasers, and TV spots. Last year, we managed to find a bunch of differences between scenes in trailers and the actual scenes in the movie for 'Infinity War'. Now, for 'Endgame', the stakes are higher and so it the secrecy. Here are all the scenes from the trailer that were manipulated or just didn't appear in the movie: 1. Nat Practicing To Fight Thanos With A Gun??? Well, if a freaking axe made from a dying star can't kill the giant grape, a gun will, apparently. Okay, I don't want to be so mean about a scene that never even made it to the movie - probably because it was stupid - but what was the point? Sorry Nat, you can't kill Thanos with a gun. 2. Black Widow's Hair, Part One If you recall, Scott Lang showing up at the Avengers compound is what set everything in motion. Also, that happened five years after the Avengers managed to kill the present day Thanos. So, during that time jump, Nat has been keeping busy making peanut butter sandwiches and getting emails from a racoon, so of course, she let her hair grow out. In this particular scene in the movie, her hair is long and almost entirely red and not short and blonde. 3. The Avengers Walking In Their New Suits This was one of the best moments from all of the trailers when it came out because we saw everyone together. At that time also, a lot of people noted the absence of Thor and Bruce Banner. Well, now we know they were there but their look for the movie couldn't be revealed before. 4. 'Bring Me Thanos' (Again) A scene from 'Infinity War' that wasn't even in 'Infinity War'. This is basically a different version or maybe just a close of the best moment from the third Avengers movie - Thor's entrance in Wakanda. 5. Steve Crying In the trailers, the scene is set up as if he's crying because they couldn't stop Thanos before he snapped his fingers, but in reality, this comes after Natasha Romanoff's sacrificial death to get the Soul Stone. Moreover, there's someone else in the shot as well, standing in the back. (I can't remember who, I'm sorry, I've only watched the movie once yet) 6. Black Widow's Hair, Part Two I love how Natasha's red/blonde hair is used to make a timeline and also used for manipulation. This exact scene happened after the five-year time jump in the movie, therefore her hair was red and not 'Infinity War' blonde by that time. 7. Cap's Shield Captain America's shield is literally the most reliable and constant thing throughout the entire MCU and it's almost indestructible. But, it was time for Cap to get a new, improved weapon so the shield's gotta go. In the movie, when he's strapping on the shield to his arm, it's almost completely broken, thanks to the grape I mentioned before, so that crucial information sure as hell couldn't be revealed in the trailer. Also, is it just me or does this gif has 'I can do this all day' energy? 8. Cap's Giddy Optimism 'I missed that giddy optimism' - turns out Cap and Tony weren't all hugs and smiles when Tony actually said this line. In the trailer, it seems like he said this to Cap as a joke right at this point, but obviously, it came at a different time in the movie. Tony said this to Cap at his house, not the Avengers compound and plus, it wasn't a friendly comment but rather a taunt. 9. Captain Marvel's Helmet I really don't think anyone cares about this one, but in this scene, she wasn't wearing her helmet. I'm pretty sure the edit here is just to not reveal her new hairstyle, which again no one cares that much about. But hey, it got us a funny quip from Rocket so it's all good.
  16. Spoilers. Kinda. Everything 'Avengers: Endgame' related has been a secret for the longest time, just because of how important of a movie it is. From manipulating the trailers to not even giving the actors entire scripts, the Russo Brothers did everything in their power to keep everything under wraps. But, there will always be rebels. This time, it was Chris Pratt. It's pretty understandable why no one would be allowed to film anything while on the set of the biggest Marvel movie ever, but obviously, the actors know how to sneak around and do something 'illegal'. Remember the whole 'Infinity War' is the biggest crossover ever? Well, it ain't got nothing on 'Endgame' because 'Infinity War' had all the actors, but the actors and their characters never shared any screen time together. Now, in 'Endgame', for people who've seen it, watched literally everyone come together and fight the giant purple grape. So, when they shot the final battle, it was probably the only time every MCU character was together and it's such a rare moment, of course. To remember that once-in-a-lifetime moment, Chris Pratt recorded a secret video of everyone on the set. View this post on Instagram I remember being blown away in this moment on the @avengers set. Nobody was allowed to film anything on their phones. I said screw it. No rule was going to stop me from seizing this once in a lifetime opportunity to capture this collection of stars, a groupthat likely will never be in the same room again. We are so blessed. A post shared by chris pratt (@prattprattpratt) on Apr 29, 2019 at 12:57am PDT Thank you, Chris, but sorry, you're still my least favourite Chris. Chris Evans being a cutie in the video will obviously take the top spot. He wrote in the caption, “I remember being blown away in this moment on the Avengers set. Nobody was allowed to film anything on their phones. I said screw it. No rule was going to stop me from seizing this once in a lifetime opportunity to capture this collection of stars, a group that likely will never be in the same room again. We are so blessed.” Even Evans agrees it's awesome. This is awesome. (I may or may not have stolen a few cool videos too) https://t.co/M9vaC4TWcx — Chris Evans (@ChrisEvans) April 29, 2019 Groot is impressed. And Nebula. Diplo being Diplo. And, then there's Thanos himself. Lastly, the best part of the video.
  17. There are spoilers in this article, please go away if you haven't watched 'Avengers: Endgame' and don't give me hate in the comments, thank you. For more than a week now, everyone has been trying to avoid any kind of 'Avengers: Endgame' spoilers before they watched the movie and there are still warnings just in case, because people are being very considerate as to not spoil something that has been building up for more than a decade. But, some random Twitter account basically posted spoilers back in December not caring about anyone, but at least it didn't get much attention until now. And, yes I'll call them spoilers because they're far too accurate to be predictions. Twitter account @RogerWardell only has 11 tweets all posted in a span of two days back in December 2018 and has like four very specific events from the movie. The first tweet is- In Ragnarok Thor lost a lot of things but what he loses in Avengers 4 is unexpected. He loses his figure, expect him to look a bit like his old friend Volstagg. #Marvel #Avengers4 trailer #Avengers4 #Thor #Spoilers — Roger Wardell (@RogerWardell) December 4, 2018 And yes, we saw the unexpected happen. Thor with man-boobs is something I never thought I would see in my life, but there it was. Then there's something about Cap and lifts. Chris Evans gets a chance to play a completely different Steve Rogers in Avengers 4. HAIL HYDRA! #chrisevans #avengers4 #marvelleaks #marvelspoilers #captainamerica #hydra #hailhydra — Roger Wardell (@RogerWardell) December 5, 2018 This was such a great scene to watch, I'm so glad it wasn't spoiled for me beforehand. Remember what Thanos said to Thor in 'Infinity War'? “You should've gone for the head”? Well, here you go. In Avengers 4 Thanos meets his end when Thor finally takes his advice from the previous film. No going forward with this character.#avengers4 #thanos #thor #mcu #marvelspoilers #marvelleaks — Roger Wardell (@RogerWardell) December 5, 2018 And obviously, he went for the head and even commented on it. There was something about Stan Lee's cameo as well. Stan Lee's cameo in Avengers 4 is at a 1970's car show. #mcu #avengers4 #stanlee #marvelstudios #marvelspoilers #marvelleaks — Roger Wardell (@RogerWardell) December 5, 2018 Well, it wasn't really a car show but it was in 1970 so, close enough, I guess? The appearance of the real Jarvis was something literally no one expected to see, no one, but Roger Wardell knew about it. Avengers 4 will feature the very FIRST character switching from TV to film, and that man is none other than James D'Arcy's Edwin Jarvis. #agentcarter #marvelleaks #marvelspoilers #avengers4 #mcu — Roger Wardell (@RogerWardell) December 5, 2018 I feel like they're not just predictions, but proper spoilers from someone who's seen the movie because it's just too specific. Were there some test screenings and stuff back in December? Did this person work on the movie and share stuff from a fake account? Or is this person actually great at guessing everything? Well, we'll never know.
  18. Before I begin, there are spoilers, please click away if you don't want them and move on with your life instead of commenting 'unfollowing this page' or 'at least give a warning about spoilers'. I mean it, I'm tired of explaining this to some people who apparently can't read. As for everyone who's seen 'Avengers: Endgame' and is interested in reading more about it, carry on. So, the movie of the decade is here and it was better than our expectations. While it felt like it was totally unexpected - everything from Nat dying to Tony dying (or maybe we were just in denial about the deaths) - it turns out, a lot of it had already been predicted by the fans. Every Marvel fan has spent the entire year watching and rewatching all the movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and spent so much time coming up with theories and predictions ever since the release of 'Avengers: Infinity War'. Obviously, all of that didn't go to waste; so many theories actually came true in the movie, thanks to everyone's vast knowledge of Marvel comics and just by observing everything properly. While we didn't know this is exactly what would happen before, we still heard about theories at least once before. 1. Professor Hulk Everyone was almost 100% sure we'll get Professor Hulk in 'Endgame' and the Russo Brothers did not disappoint. After seeing the constant disagreement and fighting between the Hulk and Bruce Banner all throughout 'Infinity War', we finally got to see that they had put aside all their differences and come to an understanding. Which means that we got Professor with the body and strength of the Hulk and the brilliant mind of Bruce altogether in one giant green Avenger. 2. Time Travel No one knew for sure but everyone knew that the movie will deal with time travel in some way or the other. Actually, this theory was or less proved with leaked pictures of Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr at a set that looked like the final battle scene from the first Avengers movie. Now, we know for sure that all of them travelled back in time to retrieve the infinity stones from the past so they could undo Thanos' snap. The time travel actually ended up giving us some of the best moments from the movie - Cap fighting Cap, 'Hail Hydra', Thor and Rocket sneaking around in Asgard while Loki is lying in a cell, Howard Stark & Peggy Carter in 1970. Well, it also gave us one of the worst moments as well, but I guess it was inevitable. 3. Time Jump A not that important or big theory but still a theory that came true. A lot of people predicted that there would be a time jump in the movie just like a desi soap show our mom watches and it became canon as soon as the trailers came out since we could make a timeline just with Nat's hair. 4. Tony Stark Dying It was something I don't think anyone was ready for but was prepared for at the same time, if that makes any sense. We knew there would be some permanent deaths of some of the OG Avengers and throughout the year, Marvel and Chris Evans were subtly hinting at Cap's death in the movie. I'm pretty sure that it was a strategy to keep Tony Stark's death even more shocking in the movie. Well, it worked, everyone knew this was probably Robert Downey Jr's last movie as Iron Man but we all were rooting for him to retire and have a long and happy life with Pepper and Morgan. Well, at least he got his perfect life for five years and Dad Tony is honestly one of the best parts of the movie. 5. Steve Rogers' Fate Again, we were all prepared, but not really, for his death with all the emotional goodbyes and the jokes by Chris himself. But, he got one of the best endings in the movie and it wraps up his storyline perfectly. He has been ready to sacrifice himself for greater good since he first appeared in the MCU, and he did that in 'Captain America: The First Avenger'. But, after everything was wrapped up in 'Endgame' and Thanos was gone, it was time for him to have his date with Peggy and finally, finally have that dance. While old man Steve was a little shocking at first, it was still a heartwarming moment since he got to live out his life not fighting but being with the love of his life. 6. Cap Passes On The Captain America Mantle To Falcon It felt like Marvel had been hinting at Bucky Barnes to become the new Captain America ever since he held the shield back in 'Captain America: The First Avenger' but turns out, it was passed on over to Sam Wilson aka Falcon. Well, it was going to happen sooner or later and the choice was always between Bucky and Sam. 7. Captain America Wielding Thor's Hammer The electric Captain America was everything we ever wanted, and more. It was hands down the best moment of the movie for me. Thanos is about to kill Thor, but no Cap and Mjölnir to the rescue. What a moment, I would watch the movie like five more times in the theatres just to experience that scene again and again. 8. Thanos Dies In The First Twenty Minutes Last time, it was Loki dying in the first 15-20 minutes, this time it was none other than Thanos. He's alone, without his shield or armour, just cooking and chilling alone after murdering trillions of people. Well, the Avengers obviously avenged everyone but that did not bring back anyone, of course. While it was ultimately a pretty useless thing, since he had already destroyed all the stones and the chance of undoing the snap with it, he was pretty harmless now, considering everything. But, he did see Thor finally aiming for the head and delivering that line perfectly. 9. Pepper Potts Suits Up This was also a theory that had been floating around for a while and yes, it came true in 'Endgame'. Literally everyone fought, so obviously the woman who has killed more Marvel villains than any other character wouldn't sit out the final battle. And, of course, the badass moment of all the powerful women of Marvel together would have been incomplete without her.
  19. There is nothing more satisfying than watching people cheer for Tony Stark as he snaps his fingers with his new personalised Infinity Gauntlet, loaded with all six Infinity Stones and an epic, timeless one-liner: “I am Iron Man”. With the effects of Thanos' snap already reversed, Stark 'decimates' the infamous 'Children of Thanos', the rest of his Chitauri army and the 'Man Titan', himself having to sacrifice his life in the process. And sure, the threat was averted and the universe was whole again in this timeline, but what about the rest of them that Captain America and the rest of his squad created while speed-jumping through the Quantum Realm? “But Captain America went back in time to return all the Infinity Stones back to where they all belonged!” To answer that, you must check this out: “In an isolated system, particles co-exist in a stable-phase relationship. If the system is interfered with, that system becomes chaos, unpredictable, dangerous, beautiful. Isolated completely, a quantum system would completely revert back to separate states of matter, each entangled with a distinct state of its environment,” says Dr Bill Foster, Quantum Physicist in the MCU. “In other words, the object in question would be both in and out of phase with multiple parallel realities.” To put it simply, the jumps through the main timeline, first made by the teams to different times and spaces, then further back in time by Stark and Rogers to 1970, gave way to infinite parallel realities out of which, Dr Stephen Strange saw 14,000,605 possibilities at Titan during the events of 'Infinity War' and declared that there was only one way to make things right again. Inversely, this means that the rest of the 14,000,604 possibilities, all of which are true and parallelly happening with ours, still have the universe 'decimated' and characters like Peter Parker, T'Challa and Wanda Maximoff are still dead and are not returning to life. Thanos has won. On the other hand, in the timeline that we were focusing on during 'Endgame', it does not go well for a lot of people here as well when Professor Hulk snaps them back to life. Based on what Peter Parker says after returning to life, it can be noted that people resurrected at the same spot where they had decimated. According to that logic, people who turned to dust while travelling in an aeroplane or were stationed in a submarine, would return midair and fall to their death or drown underwater. Not a very happy ending now, is it?
  20. First things first, 'Avengers: Endgame' is an absolute masterpiece. Don't get me wrong, this plothole I'm going to talk about doesn't make the movie any less amazing. In fact, I didn't even notice it till I watched it for the second time. No one did. I guess we were all just blown away by the epicness of it all. But, once the dust settles, and I could think clearly about everything I had just witnessed, there was only one question that popped into my head. Be warned, there are SPOILERS AHEAD! If you are part of the select few who haven't watched 'Avengers: Endgame' yet and want to go into it without any spoilers, STOP READING right here! Don't say you weren't warned. Don't go crying in the comments about how I ruined your experience by giving out spoilers. You're the idiot if you keep on reading from here on out without watching the movie. © Marvel Studios Okay, now that the spoiler alert is out of the way, let's get right to it. The two main characters get very different endings. One, Iron Man, gets to save everyone and finally rest while, the other, Captain America gets his happy albeit kind of selfish ending. Iron Man's journey has come full circle from the events of 'The Avengers.' All he wanted to do from the first Iron Man movie onwards was save the world and he finally did it. He lost his life in the process and that's just one of the reasons it is a huge sacrifice. He also gave up his perfect life (with Pepper and Morgan) so that everyone else who had lost their loved ones could get another chance at happiness. The perfect story arc for his character who started off as selfish and arrogant. © Marvel Studios As for Captain America, he has always been the selfless hero who puts everyone else ahead of himself. His own needs are always secondary and every single decision he takes is for the greater good. He is infallible in that sense and is everything a hero and the leader of the Avengers should stand for. So, you could forgive him for being selfish for once and choosing to stay in the past with Peggy Carter after returning all the Infinity Stones. No complaints here either. But then, old Captain America shows up on the bench where Bucky, Sam and Professor Hulk are waiting for him to return through the Quantum tunnel. At first, you enjoy this scene with Bucky's knowing smile and Sam's shocked expression when Cap passes his shield to him. Then you see Cap getting his dance with Peggy and the movie ends on the perfect note. The first Avenger is also the last one you see on screen. Can't see anything wrong with these scenes, can you? Well, there is one problem. How the hell did old Captain America end up on that bench? Answer this question and I will be forever grateful. © Marvel Studios The answer is not simple. Let me break it down into multiple reasons supporting this ending and why they aren't possible: The Rules Of Time Travel Every movie uses what it considers it's own rules for time travel. 'Avengers: Endgame' did the same thing. The rules are simple. Time is relative. So, if you go into the past and change something, your present won't change. You will be creating an alternate timeline. The past will become your future, your present will become your past which can't be changed by the new future you're creating, as Professor Hulk eloquently puts it. © Marvel Studios The Ancient One adds to this saying that when you remove a single Infinity Stone from a particular timeline, you create an alternate timeline where that stone ceases to exist. Professor Hulk has a solution for this. Return every single Infinity Stone to the exact time they took it for. That makes sense and that's where Captain America's final mission leads him. To return every Infinity Stone to the exact moment in time they took them from. If he just showed up on the Quantum tunnel at the end of the movie as Old Captain America, things would have been fine. Captain America Gets Benched It's safe to assume that Captain America is proficient enough to return every Infinity Stone to the right time and place. After that, he decides to live out his life with Peggy Carter. Basically, take the long road to the future. But, how would a timeline where there are two Captain Americas suddenly merge at the end, where he shows up on the bench in the original timeline? It's just not possible. © Marvel Studios If they let him live his life with Peggy Carter in a world where he dismantles Hydra before it infiltrates SHIELD, rescues Bucky before he can cause so much damage, helps the Avengers defeat Loki and take down Thanos, while still leading a happy life with Peggy, I would have been satisfied. But, he shows up on the stupid bench and ruins this theory. Captain America Has Mastered Time Travel Here's another one. Captain America has become a master at time travel. He makes sure he stays with Peggy Carter but lives a very reserved life without impacting any of the major events that take place in the world since he knows there's another Captain America out there handling stuff. The first problem with this is that Captain America, the bravest and purest Avenger would have to sit back while Hydra infiltrates SHIELD, Bucky dismantles governments and murders Tony's parents among others and all the other gruesome things that take place in the main timeline without doing anything. That's not the Captain America we all know and love. © Marvel Studios But, even if he does manage to do that, there's another problem with this theory. Even the smallest of changes could have a huge impact on the timeline and hence create an alternate one. For example, he still has to eat. That's food that would have otherwise gone to someone else. All the food he has eaten over 70-80 years. That's enough to create a new timeline. Time travel isn't as simple as you'd think. The One That Might Just Be True Here's the last one. It's the most plausible of the lot. Still pretty unbelievable. But, it could be true. So, Cap returns all the Infinity stones and then lives his life with Peggy Carter. Once he's done with that life, he takes out the Quantum time travel device Tony Stark created and uses it to travel back to the main timeline with his shield. But, instead of showing up on the new Quantum tunnel he shows up near it. © Marvel Studios He then walks to the place he remembers his friends were waiting for and sits on that bench. That's when everyone sees him and everything else happens as we see at the end of the movie. Although highly implausible, this is the only thing that makes sense. Is there any other explanation? Please help me! I'm losing my mind…
  21. Before the release of the final installment in the Avengers series, there were only two movies people were talking about - 'Avengers: Infinity War' and 'Baahubali 2: The Conclusion'. Now, everyone has just one thing on their minds - 'Avengers: Endgame'. Arka Media Works Thanos is the greatest supervillain ever, not just in the Marvel Universe but also in the lives of Bollywood filmmakers, as 'Avengers: Endgame' turned every desi movie to dust with its release. In fact, 'Avengers: Endgame' has entered the 100-crore club in its second day itself. Marvel Studios If a movie can land a Marvel fan in hospital, because she cried uncontrollably while watching it, you can only expect it to reach greater heights and break all the records. On its first day, the movie earned Rs 53.10 crore and became the biggest opener in India, beating the likes of 'Baahubali 2: The Conclusion'. On Saturday, it earned Rs 51.40 crore and cakewalked into the Rs 100 crore club in just two days, with Rs 104 crore. Marvel Studios Even before its release, the movie has been making every desi marvel fan go batshit crazy and its release has only made people lose their minds further. The Russo brothers' directorial released in 2845 screens in India in Hindi, English, Tamil and Telugu language, and the movie stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Mark Ruffalo, Jeremy Renner and Brie Larson, among others.
  22. The Marvel Cinematic Universe is the ideal example of how a mere idea and the passion to actualise it can snowball into something so massive and praise-worthy, having an impact, not only on the lives of the people involved in the making of these movies but also, the billions from various countries who can relate with these characters and make a commitment to them. Ever since the first piece of the puzzle was played with Robert Downey Jr. becoming Iron Man and really personalising the character of Tony Stark as himself, the seed was sown which would become this beautiful, magnificent tree in the next 11 years. What made these Marvel movies so special and different from the rest of the superhero movies of the past is the kind of effort put in the storytelling. Not only did the plots get into the deep integrities of character building but also took care of the tiniest of comic book details that we now know as 'Easter Eggs' and hid them across the MCU, making the experience even more awesome for the real fans. Credit: Iron Man 2 (2009), Marvel Studios Yet another attribute of Kevin Feigi's (President, Marvel Studios) vision was the small delights that came after the end credits of every MCU movie. Some gave us an insight about what to expect in the coming years, others were just to tickle our funny bones. Nonetheless, it was a great way to making the audience stay in the theatres until the name of every single cast member had appeared on the big screen. With time and the impressive post-credit scenes, it became a ritual for all MCU fans to patiently sit in their chairs and wait for what's next to come. Then came the final piece of the puzzle, 'Avengers: Endgame' and reports came pouring in saying that there are no post-credit scenes after the movie. While standing in line to enter into the cinema hall, people spoke about how the movie will end without telling us what's next and how it will end just like any other film we watch. After three hours and two minutes of being mesmerised however, something changed. Credit: Dissolve In spite of knowing that there will be nothing once the credits roll up into that black screen, not a single soul moved from their seat. They just sat there, not talking but in awe of what a wonderful journey it was and thanked the stars of the series, in their own little way, silently, in their hearts. Some happy, others overwhelmed with the conclusion, 'the quiet' was probably the greatest recognition an audience could honour Marvel with.
  23. Dear Sadists, You tried your best to annoy me, get a reaction out of me by giving away some of the most integral parts of a movie I had waited for nearly a year with so much passion and excitement. You tried to ruin something so special that was coming to an end after a decade-long journey, a journey, that became a big part of my childhood and my days of becoming an adult. Sure, I am a 'grown man' now and I have various responsibilities on my shoulders. I earn now, I prepare my own meals, I drive to work every single day, but Iron Man, Captain America and Hulk will always remain in my heart no matter how old I get. Not because of the quirky dialogues and silly comedy that these movies brought along but because of the many stories and memories I have shared with these characters through the years. And you tried to take away all of that from me. An unasked for comment on my pictures on social media giving away the plot of the story, unwarranted WhatsApp texts revealing the fate of one of the characters, you did all of that to just to make me say something nasty to you and help you feel as if you matter, just a little bit. To be honest, when I was going through the comments section of a post that had nothing to do with the movie and your comment with a grave spoiler appeared out of nowhere, it got on my nerves and I was pissed off. But later that evening, when I sat in that theatre, watching my favourite comic characters come to life maybe for the last time, none of that mattered. Your “Tony Stark did this” and “This is what happens to Thanos” did not make me feel less emotional about the art of storytelling, not even a little. Nor did it stop me from cheering in pure ecstasy when something epic happened, something that I had already read in your 24-hour long Instagram stories. The passion of a true Marvel fan will never run out no matter how much you'd try to ruin it. But good try, nonetheless! Top marks for the effort. Sincerely, An unaffected Marvel fan
  24. 'Avengers: Endgame,' what a spectacle. If anyone tells you there's no way to end a 10+ year story with a single movie while giving everyone closure, just show them everything the MCU has done till date. But here, I'm not going to be talking about any of the countless other things in the movie, I'm going to be focused on just one person, Steve Rogers. If there is anyone in the world who deserved a happy ending, it was this guy. Okay, before I delve deeper into this here's your mandatory spoiler warning. If you haven't watched the movie yet, don't read ahead till you do. If you have watched it, you absolutely must read ahead. Also, I understand how important Tony Stark and Robert Downey Jr. have been to this franchise. It's just that, for me, Captain America has way more impact… Source: Marvel Studios Now with nothing to disturb me I can finally get down to business. Remember that little guy in 'Captain America: The First Avenger?' No no, remember the Human Torch from 'Fantastic Four?' Yeah, that guy made me cry with one of the most epic scenes in cinema I've ever witnessed. Everyone knows Captain America is perhaps the purest among the Avengers. But is he worthy of carrying Mjolnir? Hell yeah. Not just carrying, but using it like a freaking legend. Watching him channel the lightning like he's been doing it for years is an image that's been implanted in my brain and will probably never fade away. (At least not for a while. :p) While writing about it, I couldn't help but replay it in my head another 10 times. This music only helps make it better. There's just one huge problem. Now, you'll want to watch it again. I already have tickets for Saturday and Sunday too. But, what about you? If you can't get anything before next week, come back on Sunday. I'll have a complete breakdown of the movie out. You can live vicariously through me. It doesn't cost anything. Source: Marvel Studios Moving on, all eyes are on Iron Man and he may just be the focus of every single discussion around you but, for me, it's Captain America who had the greatest effect. Is he the strongest Avenger? No. Is he a big, green, unkillable giant? No. Does he understand Quantum Physics? No. Why him then? He's their leader. He's the First Avenger. He's the man everyone rallies behind. It was pretty clear when he was standing alone in front of Thanos and his army that this guy was not going to back down even when nothing was in his favour. Luckily for him, he had a lot of people backing him up when he needed them but he had no idea they were coming. Once they did, who better to say the two words everyone has been dying to hear, 'Avengers Assemble' that the ultimate Avenger? Source: Marvel Studios But forget everything else, when all is said and done. The one scene which has had the most impact on me in all my years of existence is when Captain America grabs hold of Mjolnir. It brought tears of joy to my eyes. Seeing such a powerful scene really made my day. Captain America, just a guy from Brooklyn, was found worthy by a mythical hammer created for the Gods. Boy was he worthy…
  25. A lot of spoilers lie ahead, so close this right now if you haven't watched the movie. Just a warning. I'm still trying to process 'Avengers: Endgame' - literally having a very deep conversation about it while writing this - and this will probably continue till the next viewing and the one after that. So much happened, but let's not get into the details of the main plot as of now, I'll save that for another story. Right now, let's focus on all the characters we saw in the movie, other than the ones we knew about, of course. Literally, everyone knew that all the people who disintegrated at the end of 'Avengers: Infinity War' will come back as soon as the movie ended. Marvel is not going to abandon so many million dollar franchises like that, so obviously, that was pretty much expected. What wasn't expected was appearances from a bunch of characters that have appeared in various MCU movies over the course of 11 years. 1. Peggy Carter While everyone basically knew that time travel would be involved in this, no one exactly knew about the specifics and where actually the Avengers would end up going. After having a little problem in 2012 while retrieving the Tesseract, Tony and Steve have no choice but to end up travelling even further back in time to collect the space stone. After ending up in 1970, both of them have an unlikely reunion. We'll talk about the Tony part in a later point, but Cap got a glimpse of a very familiar face there. While hiding in an office, he sees none other than Peggy Carter through the blinds. It's obviously a great moment since the last time he saw her was on her deathbed at the beginning of 'Captain America: Civil War'. But, that wasn't it, Cap also got to live out his life with the love of his life when he travelled back in time again at the end of the movie. He got to grow old with her and even finally have that dance, bringing a very nice end to his Marvel storyline. 2. Jane Foster We haven't seen her since the second Thor instalment, which no one even honestly remembers, but obviously, it's important when we consider the Infinity Stones. To retrieve the Reality Stone from a still intact Asgard, Thor and Rocket travel back in time to the events of 'Thor: The Dark World' where their mission is to extract the Ether from Jane. Even though there's nothing much to it, her cameo was still surprising, since it's been years since her last mention or appearance. 3. The Ancient One Again, because of time travel, Tony, Steve, Scott, and Bruce end up at the battle of New York from the first Avengers movie, since there were three Infinity Stones not just on Earth at the same time but all together in New York as well. Since Doctor Strange is still a brilliant surgeon and five years away from becoming the master of mystic arts back in 2012, the Time Stone is with the Ancient One. After refusing to give up the Time Stone at any cost, she finally relents after learning that Doctor Strange himself gave the stone to Thanos. 4. Harley This is just one of the two appearances not related to time travel whatsoever, but it's a sad cameo though. Remember the little kid from 'Iron Man 3'? Harley Keener? Well, we haven't heard much about him since that movie but it seems like Tony has kept up with him all these years. He makes a blink-and-miss appearance at Tony Stark's funeral towards the end. It's an important cameo but it was missed by a lot of fans. 5. Howard Stark Another major appearance that had a big impact. As I mentioned above, Tony and Steve travel back to 1970 and guess who Tony runs into? His dad, Howard Stark! Obviously not revealing his real identity, Tony still manages to have a very important and impactful conversation with his father about fatherhood. We've seen through the years that both of them did not really have a strong relationship but with just that one conversation, Tony seemed to have had major character development. Moreover, since Tony loses his life soon after that, it was good to see him at least leaving things on a good note with his father. 6. Thanos' Children And no, I'm not talking about Nebula and Gamora. In 'Infinity War', Thanos sent his 'children' to earth to get the two Infinity Stones there - time and mind - and they are faced with the Avengers, of course. Ebony Maw loses his life while on his way to Titan, thanks to Peter Parker's knowledge of 'really really old movies', and Scarlet Witch manages to kill off Proxima Midnight in the battle in Wakanda. These were permanent deaths but they also happened in 2018, so when the Thanos from 2014 makes it to the movie's present time, all of his children and the Black Order is still alive and fighting beside him in the final battle. 7. Gamora Again, Gamora did not come back to life, it's just the Gamora from 2014 who doesn't even know the Guardians of the Galaxy yet. Well, it was still great to see her kick Peter Quill right in his balls. I'm also more interested to know 'where is Gamora' (sorry) because we didn't see her at the end of the movie, nor did she go with the Guardians of the Galaxy. 8. Frigga As mentioned above, Thor travelled back to a still existing Asgard and he saw his mother the day she was supposed to die. In the present timeline, anyone can see that Thor is not really doing that well, and it looks like talking to Frigga helped him more than anything had in the previous five years. It looked like he got some closure and he also got to hug his mom again! A precious moment, tbh.
