Okay so I know this is a publication that is pro-men and all that jazz, which is why when I start with what I am going to say next, it might prick some of you. But the thing is, men need to know, learn and acknowledge a few things that they do wrong in life, and this might be one of them. And I am sure, most of you would agree. View this post on Instagram Being a woman is not easy in itself, let alone at work. And that can mean any kind of work - be it running a business, being a journalist like myself or even being behind the camera and anchoring for a channel. Like the case was with former sports anchor and actress Mandira Bedi. She was known to host quick tete-a-tete with cricketers and we just loved those quick, candid bites from famous sports personalities right off the field. However, turns out, Mandira didn’t enjoy those as much as we did. Why, you ask? Because she always felt she was being stared down by these cricketers. © YouTube In an exclusive interview with Pinkvilla , Mandira opened up about her experience while hosting ICC Cricket World Cups in 2003 and 2007. And not just that, she also hosted the Champions Trophies in 2004 and 2006 as well as IPL. She shared, “Nobody accepted me to begin with, certainly not the people sitting on the panel. I'm friends with all the ex-cricketers now who I worked with back then as well but they didn't like that either. They didn't like that there was a woman wearing a saree, dressed up, talking cricket. Nobody fed me any lines, nobody fed me any questions. I was there to represent the layperson who doesn't know every technicality of cricket, who does not know every nuance of cricket.” © Twitter And it didn’t end there. She went on to share, “I was told whatever question comes to your mind at that particular point of time if you're thinking of asking it. I was given that freedom. Of course, I got stared down by a lot of the cricketers like- what's she even asking, why is she even asking that.” Mandira then revealed, “They answered whatever they wanted to answer nothing connected to my question and that can be very very intimidating but I kind of was assured by the channel, it was Sony, that backed me and chose me from 150-200 women. They said that we've chosen you with the reason we think you have what it takes to stay, so go ahead and be yourself and start enjoying yourself." View this post on Instagram Recently Mandira hosted the show The Love Laugh Live Show and was last seen enjoying at good friend Mouni Roy’s wedding with businessman Suraj Nambiar. For an Indian cricket fan, the last couple of weeks have been nightmarish. The team has lost its opening two matches against Pakistan and New Zealand and is on the verge of an early exit from the ongoing T20 World Cup. New Zealand win the game, but #TeamIndia will look to make amends in their next match of the #T20WorldCup. #INDvNZ Scorecard https://t.co/ZXELFVZhDp pic.twitter.com/Bvkz3BHshm — BCCI (@BCCI) October 31, 2021 No matter how hard we try to defend our players, the truth is that our players have no one else but themselves to blame for their predicament, where they are at the mercy of other teams to stand even an outside chance of making it to the next stage of the competition. And given how highly things are stacked against the Men In Blue, it will be nothing short of a miracle if they qualify. © Twitter BCCI It’s hard to believe that these are the same players who were being hailed as one of the favourites to win the tournament and here they were virtually knocked out of the tournament after just two matches. Heading into any major event, the expectations are always high from the Indian team because they always impress in the bi-lateral series but when it comes to the major ICC events, for some reason, they fail to deliver the goods. © Twitter BCCI India not just lost the match but they suffered two of their worst defeats in the tournament’s history. Former Indian opener Gautam Gambhir, who top-scored for India in the two World Cup finals, feels that the Indian players don’t lack skills but it’s the “mental toughness” that is holding them back. “This game was literally like a quarterfinal. The problem is with the mental toughness of the side. Suddenly when you know you have got to win the game and can’t make mistakes, in bilaterals it’s different because you can make mistakes there. But in these kind of games, I don’t think India has got that mental strength,” Gambhir said on ESPNCricinfo post-match show. “They have got the skill and are a very dangerous side. But unfortunately, we can keep talking about it that we need to stand by our team when its not doing well but it’s been a trend and its been happening for a very long time in most of these ICC tournaments, whether it’s the semifinals or the game today as well. When it mattered the most for someone to put his hand up, they just couldn’t,” said the former southpaw. © Twitter ICC More than the defeat, watching the Indian team surrender in front of oppositions has been more demoralising. If they had shown some teeth and challenged the opposition and then went down fighting the defeat wouldn’t have caused this much pain. India last won an ICC trophy back in 2013 when MS Dhon guided them to the Champions Trophy title. SInce then, it’s been more than eight years but Team India has kept the fans waiting and with each passing year, the patience is starting to run its course. View the full article

Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas often take to their Instagram profiles and share some adorable pictures together. But, even if they post solo pictures, they are often seen appreciating each other in the comments section. The couple got married in 2018 and have been going strong ever since. Despite facing disapprobation, they tackled every obstacle that came in their way and proved that no stereotype could wreck their relationship. © Instagram/Priyanka Chopra Priyanka recently spoke in a new podcast and opened up about how she and Nick Jonas respect each other's cultures and traditions. We witnessed it at the time of their wedding when the couple followed both Hindu as well as Christian customs. The Christian wedding was performed by Nick's father, Paul Kevin Jonas Sr. © Instagram/Priyanka Chopra Apart from that, she also said Nick often asks Priyanka to do Puja before any significant event in their lives. © Instagram/Priyanka Chopra Speaking during Victoria’s Secret’s VS Voices podcast, Priyanka mentioned that they both have different faiths. However, on spiritual grounds, they are on the same frequency. “Spiritually, Nick and I align when it comes to our feelings and our relationship with our faith. Of course, we have been raised with different faiths. I am a believer that eventually, religion is a map to get to the same destination, which is God. So, whatever your faith has been when you were raised, we are all going in the same direction to a higher power. We both align on that." © Instagram/Priyanka Chopra She further added, "I do a lot of pujas in the house which are prayer ceremonies. Nick usually asks me to do them whenever we are starting something big because that is how I have always started something auspicious in my life, with a prayer of thanks. I have had that upbringing and he has had that upbringing and we have sort of created that within our family as well." © Instagram/Priyanka Chopra Priyanka is currently shooting for her next project, Citadel, starring Richard Madden and produced by the Russo brothers. Apart from that, she will also be seen in The Matrix: Resurrections and Text For You. She will also make her Bollywood comeback with Jee Le Zaraa. View the full article
