  3. Will Smith - for every millennial who has been into Hollywood movies (or not), the name evokes the face of this ever-smiling personality who is known for his flamboyant gestures and witty remarks, as much as for his acting skills. However, there's something more that stands out about this goofball of a man, and that is his wisdom, and his way with words. Will Smith is known to have delivered some of Hollywood's most remarkable dialogues, but even off the screen, his pearls of wisdom have continued to inspire and motivate people to be a better version of themselves. The following quotes by Will Smith will not only inspire a man in his 20s, but shall also lend a life-changing perspective to things and situations you're living through. Read on to behold the gems: © MensXP Dream, dream, and dream. That's the basic gist of what he is trying to say here. We must not give in to the temptation of abandoning our dreams to keep up with reality, and thereby leading a mediocre life. © MensXP Life is the best teacher, and Smith totally agrees. All the big, life-altering lessons are learnt outside the four walls of the classroom. Experiences and interactions continue to add value to our lives till the very end. © MensXP 20s can often be pretty challenging in a lot of ways. From college to jobs and relationships, we end up undertaking and welcoming a lot of new things into our lives. But Smith reminds us of the importance of valuing ourselves before we begin to chase after people in the hopes of a “shared dream”. © MensXP Our twenties also turn out to be the time when the most number of interactions and associations take place in our lives. However, Smith believes that we must save ourselves from the impending disappointment when we place excessive confidence and faith in the wrong people. © MensXP One's 20s are kind of always brimming with uncertainties and doubts, because of the ever-changing and evolving state of our life during the time. However, we mustn't betray ourselves and instead be our own cheerleaders. We must come to believe we have it in us to do it. © MensXP The concept of love remains to be pretty twisted throughout this time, due to heartbreaks and adulting. But Smith makes sense when he says women aren't the only ones who deserve our love. We have to love our dreams and aspirations, our achievements as well as our failures to be able to shine. © MensXP Having a facade in your 20s is apparently a thing these days, but obviously, it's an absolute waste of time. In trying to keep up with it, we're losing ourselves to the hypocrites. © MensXP Focus and perseverance are the two qualities Smith swears by. He is a firm believer that hard work and grit are the biggest tools of success, which only comes to pass if we believe in our dreams and desires. © MensXP Another one where we can surely learn from the man himself. His antics and confidence are a total hit with women, who simply drool over the confidence and oomph the man exudes. We must chant this mantra whenever in doubt. © MensXP Smith has been known for his struggles and how he rose from the ashes after. Smith has inspired millions of people, yet what they hold most dear is his determination to carve his own destiny and live his life on his own terms. That's exactly how our thought-process in the 20s should be like. Don't you agree already that the man deserves an Oscar for his contributions that go beyond the realm of his marvellous acting on-screen?
  4. If you don't know that Will Smith is in our country right now, then what are you even doing with your life? Okay, that may be a little harsh, let me rephrase that, what are you even looking at online? His Indian adventures have been all over Twitter and Instagram for days, and you can just tell he's having the time of his life here, taking in everything India has to offer. But, that also means he's become a typical tourist and has done almost every touristy thing you can do here. Initially, he came here for an event and to shoot for a special appearance in the much-anticipated movie 'Student of the Year 2' and looks like he decided to stay for a few more days to do some sightseeing. Also, we should thank Karan Johar for getting Will here and then Will, for giving us some kickass pictures, even if they are quite touristy. 6. Men have often complained about there not being as much variety in products vis-a-vis clothes and accessories for them, as there tends to be for women. While this complaint is certainly justified for a variety of categories (grooming products immediately come to mind), it is simply UNTRUE when it comes to shoes. In fact, shoes are perhaps that one fashion category for men, where there is just as much variety (if not more!) of products to choose from, as there tends to be for their female counterparts. This is perhaps why it's also important for Indian men to have a clear understanding of, not only the type of shoes they can buy, but also WHY they need to be owning at least one pair of each. And since being spoilt for choice should never be a reason for missing out on fashion essentials, here are the six different type of shoes that every Indian man NEEDS to possess for their shoe racks: 1) A Pair Of White Sneakers © Unsplash It doesn't matter what body type you harbour, how tall you are or what your fashion sensibilities may be, but if you identify as an Indian man, you absolutely need to be owning at least one pair of white sneakers. After all, the utility of white sneakers cannot be stressed enough as they can pretty much go well with a vast majority of your wardrobe, so much so, that they'll probably become your go-to choice of footwear for a multitude of occasions. Just make sure you take care of them properly as they can be a bit challenging to maintain. 2) A Pair Of Brogues © Pexels It's often said that all those who consider themselves as being gentlemen should own at least one pair stylish brogues for their shoe collection. After all, brogues are the epitome of class, maturity and high-fashion. Perfect for your workplace, you can also depend on them to elevate your casual, smart-casual and semi-formal attires for a second date or a house party, giving them greater utility than others. 3) A Pair Of Sock-Sneakers © Unsplash Sock-sneakers are perhaps the best amalgamation of style and comfort. After all, is there any other type of shoe out there that not only makes you look stylish and fashion-forward but also does so without compromising on your sense of comfort? Since most of them feature mesh and textile uppers, you never have to worry about the breathability and comfort you'll be getting when you put them on. 4) A Pair Of Espadrilles © Flickr Espadrilles will pretty much be that breath of fresh air that'll add some much-needed variety to your otherwise monotonous collection of sneakers and formal shoes. In fact, espadrilles should pretty much be an essential part of your summer wardrobe, ones you can keep coming back to when you'd be looking for a pair of shoes that will make for comfort wear, all the while giving you an effortlessly stylish aura. 5) A Pair Of Loafers © Pexels If we were to go by its textbook definition, loafers can best be described as being shoes without laces. But going by just that definition would be a disservice, as loafers (both penny and horsebit variants) make for the most comfortable, fashionable and easy-to-wear type of shoes that can be used for almost all types of occasions. In fact, the best thing about owning a pair of loafers is just how reliable they are, so much so, that you shouldn't be surprised if they become your most used pair of shoes. 6) A Pair Of Running Shoes © Unsplash You don't even have to be a fitness freak or gym rat to own a pair of running shoes. In fact, whether you're a beginner, expert or completely alien to the concept of fitness, owning a pair of running shoes should be mandatory. After all, apart from their basic utility in aiding your morning runs and evening workouts, you can also use some of them (not all!) to accentuate your casual ensembles.
  7. We checked out the Pixel 3 in detail at Google's launch event in New York, and the one thing that Google wants you to know is that it's not all about the hardware. The Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL have probably been the most leaked smartphones in history, however, nobody knew about the features Google talked about today. The real magic happens when Google marries their software prowess with machine learning and hardware to deliver an experience you won't find on any other Android device. These are some of our favourite features on the Pixel 3 that set it apart from the rest of the crop: Top Shot © Google The new feature essentially lets you choose the perfect shot when you take pictures using the Pixel 3. Basically, it uses machine-learning to give you the best picture from multiple HDR+ images. Machine-Learning on the Pixel 3 will let you manually choose the perfect shot from a group of pictures. This will basically eliminate the problem of pictures that would have eyes closed or weird expressions. You can simply scroll through the alternate images to use the perfect moment captured. Night Sight © Google If you love to go out at night like me, this will be the most important feature you want to be looking at. Basically, Google uses “computational photography” to enhance images taken in low-light environments. This will basically eliminate the need to use flash, as Google's algorithms spruce up the brightness, contrast and colour automatically. Super Res Zoom © Google Previously, using software to zoom in on images would often result in awful images. The picture would be grainy and often lose detail, as the software zoom has never been able to be as good as a telephoto lens. However, Google will now use machine learning and deliver a super clean image, without ever using a secondary camera lens. Call Screening © Google Nobody likes telemarketers and sometimes we get duped by them because of the different phone numbers they tend to use. Google's new Call Screen feature will basically now let Google Assistant answer unwanted calls for you. It will ask the caller a few questions on your behalf and you can use one-touch screen prompts to carry on or end the conversation. No More Selfie Sticks © Google © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla If you're a fan of taking group selfies, you will no longer need to carry a selfie stick or have a friend with long arms thanks to the dual-selfie camera. Both cameras have an 8-MP sensor where one of them is a wide-angle lens. This lets the Pixel 3 XL capture 184 per cent more area of your surroundings and essentially makes taking group-selfies easy. Pixel 3 Specs & Pricing Display: Pixel 3: 5.5-inch flexible OLED at 443ppi/2160x1080, 18:9 aspect ratio; Pixel 3 XL: 6.3-inch flexible OLED at 523ppi/2960x1440, 18.5:9 aspect ratio (plus a notch!) 8. If you're still confused about the 'type' of girl you'd like to date, we can make it rather simple for you. How, you ask? Well, by throwing famous pop-culture references your way of course! By that I mean, we're so intrigued by popular character sketches on TV shows and series, that we imagine finding that very person to be acquainted with. It's quite fascinating really. But what if these shows are actually throwing subliminal messages your way telling you to find the right kind of people? Because let's face it, you always end up with the wrong kind, most times in your life. © 20th Television For instance, I was watching re-runs of 'How I Met Your Mother' (HIMYM) and I thought to myself, "man it'd be cool to have a woman like Robin Scherbatsky in my life". And why not! She's smart, she doesn't give a f*** about the most inane things in life and she's hot. Maybe you can't find fictional characters that often around you, but they do leave you with certain traits you can look for in the next girl you'd want to date. So, this time I am choosing Robin for you, because man, she's cool as hell! For all you know, you can learn a lot about relationships, from Robin's character in 'How I Met Your Mother'. (1) She Doesn't Rush Into Relationships Robin is the kinda girl who likes to build a foundation before jumping into a relationship, just like any smart person should ideally be doing. Even though Ted made a grand gesture by stealing a blue French horn for her from a restaurant, she didn't make a quick decision about dating him instantly, even though he put her on an uncomfortable pedestal. Robin is the kind of girl who takes her time in a relationship and doesn't get too carried away. So, if you find someone who takes it slow and doesn't build your expectation, that's a mighty good thing for you. (2) She's On Your Face Yeah, Robin doesn't mince words. She tells it like it is. So, if you're a fan of tough love at times, you need a Robin. If she doesn't like that shirt on you, she'll tell you straight up, if she thinks she needs to put her career before the relationship, she'll be honest about it. If you like your woman to sugar-coat things for you, then she isn't the girl for you. (3) She Never Gets 'Hangry' I've been with women who get hangry so quickly, you need to find food as soon as possible. While that's endearing, it's also annoying at the same time. But with Robin, that'll never be the case. Remember that episode in HIMYM, where she went hangry after her 'cleanse' when the gang decided to search for the 'perfect burger'?. Yeah, she didn't lose her cool then and she was a good sport! (4) She's A Scotch Drinker Women who know their Scotch are the perfect catch. They like finer things in life and are usually independent enough. She knows how to hold her drink and is very selective in her choice of Scotch. Reason enough? (5) Her Sense Of Self Rocks Do you want an insecure GF always looking for validation from you? I don't think so. If anything, you'd go right ahead and compliment her yourself, without her having to constantly ask you. Well, Robin doesn't need any compliments because she's very secure about the person she is and the way she looks. She knows she's hot and she owns it and she's her own knight in shining armour. (6) She's A Good Friend If she was friends with you before you started dating and things didn't work out between the two of you when you dated, she'll still be around to be a good friend. Not just to you, but she's a good friend in general. She stands up for all her friends and is always there when they need her support. (7) She's Open To Trying The Kinkiest Thing(s) In Bed Isn't that the dream? Well, if it is, then Robin's your go-to girl! If you remember the episode where she's describing a sexual act with a popular celebrity, you'll know what I am talking about. Oh and she's not averse to cameras in the bedroom either. With prior permission of course! (8) She's Just A lot Of Fun Having a Robin in your life is like a constant happy trip. She's crazy, she'll join you in any fun you'd like to have and she definitely isn't a buzz kill. Hell, she'll even root for the same team as you and celebrate the victory with a scotch and cigar session, while giving you the best time she can, in bed! I reckon you begin the search, now!
  9. When you're trying to seek out a woman you fancy, you cannot expect them to simply fall into your lap, because you've got the looks for it or enough bank balance to pamper her with. While we all feel great when we come to know someone loves us, women usually like to go a step further to size up the compatibility they share with the other person. Listed below are 10 such habits or personality traits that every woman usually looks for and appreciates in a man: 1. Thoughtful Mannerisms © Dharma Productions One of the things women notice very early on during their interactions with a man, are his mannerisms. By that, we don't just mean things like holding the door for her or paying attention to her when she speaks, those are basic etiquettes anyone should follow. But an easy trace of thoughtfulness and kindness in a man's mannerisms (that aren't merely pretentious), always catch a woman's attention. 2. Willingness To Mend Things In the present times of easy availability and abundant Chinese goods around us, thoughts of ditching something when it stops working and replacing it with a new one, come quick and easy. But women aren't a fan of the idea, until it becomes absolutely necessary. Women love it when men show signs of being willing to fix things, rather than abandoning them, the very first chance they get. © Dharma Productions 3. Holding The Pace Most people are unaware of the fact that women really appreciate it when a man consciously makes an effort to hold the pace during conversations or even when they are simply walking together. Rushing a conversation, meeting or constantly walking a few steps ahead of her seems a bit crude. 4. Respecting Time Yeah, it's a no-brainer, and yet half of you fail to follow this simple rule. Punctuality in every aspect of your personal and professional life is a major turn on for women. Your respect for time comes across as an indication of meticulousness and thinking ahead of time, which women absolutely admire in a man. © Jhoom Jhoom Productions 5. Positive Vibes You may think it isn't as important, but trust us when we say that your whole game will change if a woman gets attracted to your vibe before anything else. Women love men who make them feel welcome and calm. They dig men who exude positivity in the way they look at things. Your vibes can be a total game changer for you. 6. Passion & Discipline Having a passion that's close to your heart and making it a point to follow up on it, is something every woman seeks in a man. Nobody wants a man who only works, eats, sleeps and repeats it all over again, day in and day out. So, whether it's a hobby you're passionate about or it's gymming that makes you happy, following it with a discipline will surely make her admire you all the more. © Sunshine Pictures 7. A Vision For The Future Goes without saying, but women find men with a vision for the future extremely attractive. Women directly connect it to the fact that the man is dependable and can be trusted, not only with her heart but her own visions for the future, both personally and professionally. Men with a plan come across as sincere, invested and action-oriented, and women totally love that. 8. Eating Often & Eating Right Women love food. Well, mostly. Regardless of whether they are into cooking or not, women enjoy the company of good friends and delicious food at all times. So be assured, that she'll have her eyes on you when you take your call on food. If you can cook it, superb, that's a winner right there. If not, she'll score you on how much you appreciate good food when you taste it. © Viacom 18 Motion Pictures 9. Regard For Money & Finances This is something you feel we'd rather not mention, but this happens to be an important factor for women. If you're into the habit of taking care of your finances and closely monitoring your expenses and investments, while you indulge in a fair share of goodness that money provides, then that's going to be appreciated. Women don't like men who throw around their money simply because they can/want to. Dependability and security are crucial. 10. Initiating Open Conversations/Discussions If you've heard this one before, then you should know that it's true. It may be a common stereotype that women like to talk, anytime and anywhere, but the truth is, most of them want to stay away from futile conversations just as much as you do. Hence, if you can initiate open and quality conversations or are willing to initiate discussions on matters of mutual interest, she'll want to come back to you for more of it. How many of these do you think you have been blessed with?
  10. Xiaomi announced a range of new smart devices for Indian homes and we've been testing one of those gadgets for over a week. It's the affordable 360 degree 1080p security camera that basically looks like 'EVA' from 'Wall-E'. © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla When it comes to security, traditionally people tend to buy the most expensive setup out there, because not many people want to take a chance with an affordable solution. Having said that, the Mi Home Security Camera is here to change everyone's mind. It's equipped with a 360-degree wide-angle lens and one can move it up and down to 45 degrees. The security camera can capture 1080P video, has intelligent motion detection, infrared night vision and has a two-way talk feature. Basically, this smart security camera can do more than anything being offered in India at an affordable price. © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla Setting up the Mi Home Security Camera 360° was probably easier than setting up a new smartphone. You first start by plugging in the security and you get prompted by a voice stating “Waiting to connect” or something like that. You need to download the 'Mi Home' app if you haven't already. Make sure the 'Mi Home' app's region is set to “India (Asia Server)” otherwise you will not be able to pair the security camera. Once the app detects the security camera, it will use Bluetooth and your Wi-Fi network to set it up. The entire process probably takes around three minutes. How It Works © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla Once your security camera is added to the 'Mi Home' app, you can open the camera from the hub. It will automatically show you live footage from the room the camera is placed in. You can even notice the bit rate of the stream at the top. You can pause/play, change resolution, mute/unmute right from the application. You can even change the orientation of the camera from the app when you're not home and want to see something in the corner. © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla The motion detection on the security camera is top notch and you can even program the camera to send a notification to your smartphone each time it detects motion. Likewise, you can even set up the camera to start recording a video or take pictures when it detects motion. © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla The Mi App will even show you the entire history of each movement detected in the room. The security camera has a microSD slot where it can store all the files for you to view. The security camera is able to store footage for up to a week which you can save on your smartphone if you ever need to access it. © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla You can even store footage on a NAS drive if you happen to have one at your home. It would have been cool to see some support for cloud storage and it would be awesome to store videos and images on Mi Cloud or any third party service. You can have the security camera record for 24 hours at a certain time, or have it record only when it detects motion. You can even make a voice call to the security camera if someone is there in your room. It's a great feature to scare away people who are snooping in your room. I used it to scare my dogs when I was away and it definitely made them howl. © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla The Infrared night recording also works like a charm, as one can see everything clearly even in a pitch dark room. Everything is clear as daylight and the cool thing is that the security camera automatically switches to infrared mode, as soon as you switch off all the lights. The Final Say © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla The Mi Home Security Camera is probably our favourite device from the range of devices Xiaomi has launched recently. It should be priced way higher for all the things it does, but it only costs Rs 2,699. If you already have other Xiaomi smart home products, you can even create scenes within the Mi Home app for it to create your own smart home scenario. The Mi Security Camera 360° is a total winner in every aspect and is a must buy for every Indian homeowner.
  11. The much awaited and much-hyped trailer of this year's magnum opus, 'Thugs Of Hindostan' is finally out. Before we begin dissecting it further, let's just have a great aesthetic view of it first. First things first, Aamir Khan is easily the Johnny Depp of Bollywood, if one is allowed to do draw an innocuous comparison. The man is called a perfectionist for a reason. His role in TOH has some eerie similarities to Depp's characters from 'Pirates Of The Carribean' and 'Alice In Wonderland', and from the trailer, it looks like Aamir has nailed his performance in a way that only he could. © YRF Coming to Big B, words fall short for this mitochondria of Bollywood, who can slip into any role like changing his clothes. He can be seen pulling off some pretty kick-ass action moves in the trailer, and at his age, he is clearly giving the mainstream actors a run for their money. © YRF The movie also stars Fatima Sana Shaikh and Katrina Kaif. For some reason, their appearances were kept short and crisp in the trailer, so we are guessing we'll have a better look once the next trailer is out. The movie is a YRF production, so nothing lacks in terms of cinematography and it is going to be a Diwali treat for every fan out there! 'Thugs Of Hindostan' will release in theatres on November 8th.
  12. India unlocked its latest achievement this morning, when Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Pakyong Airport- an engineering marvel situated at a height of 4,500 feet above sea-level between the Himalayas in Sikkim. © Twitter PM Modi hailed it as an 'engineering marvel' because of the terrain where the airport has been constructed. Located 30 kilometres away from the state capital Gangtok, it marks the 100th functional airport in the country and has de-crowed Sikkim as the only state without an airport. The airport is located atop a hill two kilometres above the Pakyong village, and is spread over 201 acres and also happens to be North-East India's first greenfield airport. © Twitter The airport is being hailed as a good measure to improve regional connectivity to Sikkim besides the rest of the North-Eastern states, thereby also improving tourism in the region. The first commercial flight to take off from the airport on 4th October will be a budget carrier SpiceJet plane that will fly between Kolkata and Pakyong. © Twitter The Pakyong Airport has been included in central government's UDAN scheme, whose objective is to “let the common citizen of the country fly” by making air travel affordable and accessible. People all over the country are excited about this newest pride of the country, that is said to be blessed with picturesque sights and will not only make travelling to Sikkim easier, but will also save time and money. Can't wait to book a flight to Sikkim soon!
  13. This is the age of selfies, so no matter which way you lay your eyes, you're bound to come across a zillion people clicking away at their own “godly” faces for no particular reason at all. It's no news that we've been witness to numerous unfortunate selfies doing the rounds on the world wide web either because they went viral or perhaps because they were turned into memes. But no matter the reason behind the #selfiefails, what we cannot deny is that there is no room for such mishaps when you're trying to share a snap with a girl, more so if she's potentially your future girlfriend too. Fear not, for we've got you covered and taken the help of one of India's most eligible bachelors, Rahul Khanna, to help you decode the Dos of taking a selfie for every occasion and ace at flat-out impressing that girl. The “Woke Up Like This” Selfie If you ever get too tempted to send her a 'good morning' selfie that's just you with a mussed head and puffy eyes, we'd say you refrain from the idea and instead choose the tactic of peek-a-boo that Mr. Khanna resorts to in this selfie. A little 'hiding' from the camera can lead to a lot more 'seeking' off it. (Did you get the pun, eh?) © Instagram The “Hot & Sweaty Workout” Selfie Another selfie inclination most guys harbour in their hearts is of conveying to the girl that they're into fitness which leads to them sending a selfie in which they appear to have been sloshed with a fresh drizzling of sweat. No. That's not how you do it. A workout selfie needs to be aesthetically appealing, where the sweat does only as much to add sheen to your body. © Instagram The “Freshly Served” Selfie If you feel there's nothing like a good selfie right outta shower, wait a second before you go all out with a mirror selfie in a towel. Instead of that, try this. Take care of your dishevelled hair, look a little prim and perhaps also try to keep the focus above the waist to add a bit of tease. © Instagram The “Lazy Afternoon” Selfie On days you're staying in and got a good enough lazy vibe going on for you, take this selfie as your inspiration to send that “lazing around” selfie that's evident yet gives the viewer something to behold and admire all at once. Don't forget to add a hint of that lazy grin into the selfie, okay? © Instagram The “Traveller” Selfie That's another one to pop-up quite often as pictures you'd wanna share with a girl, right? But be smart and avoid sending her a selfie of you stuck between an endless stream of traffic to make the point. Restrict these selfies to those where you add a bit of the vista you're enjoying so that it appeals to both the travel bug in her as well as gives her a happy traveller's face to behold. © Instagram The “For Your Eyes Only” Selfie Let's keep this as a special one, or perhaps even a bonus you'd wanna throw in when you want her to think of you a little longer than she'd like. How you ask? Just bring in your pets into the frame and you have a selfie that's sure to strike a few chords of her heart and make her go “aww”. © Instagram The “Work Mode On” Selfie The work attire selfie is for those days when you're dressed for the job and feel capable of taking on anything life throws at you while at work. Happens not so often but there are always those days you feel and look good in dashing workwear. Well, just steal a selfie on such days! © Instagram The “Dapper In Tux” Selfie There mustn't be a need for an excuse to click and send a selfie when you're dressed in a tux. Period. Whether you're out for a office dinner with the hotshots of your company or it's a wedding you're dressed to kill for, be sure to send a selfie of yourself when you're looking like a business mogul. © Instagram The “Dream Of Me” Selfie This one has a LOT of potential. When you're done for the day, and ready to unwind, send your girl a quick selfie reminding her of the good, hard work you've gotten done that day while she can take in tousled hair look of you and hold her breath in awe. © Instagram Take inspiration from these selfies and go at it 'cause this is gonna work, we tell you.
  14. So, you're soon going to be 22 and life at this point seems like a world full of possibilities (and uncertainties), which is possibly what made you click on this article, in the hopes of figuring out what to really expect from this awkward stage in life. You don't feel like your older, fresh-out-of-school self but neither do you feel like you're up to adulting anytime soon, post your graduation. Well, it doesn't matter where you are at in your life currently, because these 15 things are applicable to all, and will surely help you navigate through what is to come in the near future: 1. Take Care Of Your Body © Pexels The sooner we learn about our body and master how to take care of it, the better. With all the junk we put into our system and the screwed up sleep patterns in our early 20s, this one is a must. 2. Learn To Cook Your Favourite Dish Whether it is rajma chawal or a loaded cheesy pizza, master cooking that one dish/food that can pull you out of a black hole on any given day. Trust us, you'll know what it's worth during the moment of need. 3. Be Alone © Pexels Yeah, brutal but honest too. By this point in your life you must master how to step out into the big, trying world outside with no other company but yours alone. Whether it means going to a movie alone, or checking out that restaurant you wanted to try, learn to enjoy your company. 4. Get Over Fears That Are Holding You Back This one could be anything, from interviews to public speaking and even extreme sports, no matter what fear, master the art of scraping them off your list the first chance you get. 5. Take Out Time For Your Fave Sports/Hobby © Pexels Yes, you need to master the trick that will allow you to indulge in your favourite sports or hobby, as you step into the corporate conundrum and suddenly feel there is nothing left in your life besides keying numbers into your laptop at work. 6. Own Up To Your Mistake 22 is often regarded as a tricky age. It's like you aren't too young anymore but neither too old and yet, people want you to somehow do the right thing, always. But that isn't how it's going to be. You will make mistakes, so you better master how to own up to them and learn from those mistakes. 7. Pen Down A Solid Signature © Pexels Never thought that's even important, right? Well, it is. It's a mark you are going to leave on every official document! So you better get a dope signature figured out for yourself ASAP. 8. Manage Your Own Laundry If you've lived alone, then you would have probably gotten a hang of it. If not, then this is just about the right time to start. Try it, clean clothes aren't all that bad. 9. Manage Your Finances © Pexels It isn't just the piggy bank or pocket money that should be your concern anymore. Major finances that involve paychecks and doing taxes need to be undertaken at the earliest. 10. Receive Constructive Criticism Positively Well, this was to come your way sooner or later. Criticism is every other Indian's favourite pastime, so count on receiving plenty of it. But what you also need to master is how to receive the constructive criticism positively and leave the rest of the BS behind. 11. Learn To Speak A Foreign Language © Pexels Today's global citizen needs to know as many foreign languages as possible. Who knows where fate (work) might take you, right? Be sure to master at least one foreign language by 22. You'll thank yourself later. 12. Challenge Yourself & Move Out Of Your Comfort Zone While you're still young, it's best to never get too comfortable with anything in your life. Your dreams, your worldview and even your job, no matter where you are in your life, become comfortable with the idea of constantly challenging yourself. 13. Make Friends You Can Trust For The Long Haul © Pexels Ah, yes. A tricky one to figure out but this one is essential. Make friends you can trust and count on. By this time, you may have figured out a few of them, but don't settle till you find the ones you can trust with your life. 14. Let Go Of Toxic Friendships This one follows from the previous point. You gotta learn to let go of a few “friends” in the process of finding the 'friends like family'. Cutting out certain people, particularly toxic ones, from your life is a necessary step you must learn if you want to move ahead. 15. Believe In Yourself © Pexels Last but surely not the least. There's a long, adventurous life awaiting you with a gazillion experiences to live through. So, you have to master the art of placing undying faith in yourself and your capabilities. Post that, the world will be your oyster! How many have you checked off the list?
  15. Love is a rare thing to find. Some find it in people, and some, in words! It's amazing how some words catch our attention and make us fall in love with them. If you want to express something in the best possible way, write a poem on it. In this digital generation, where love starts with swiping right and ends with unmatching, poetry is still the best way to express your love, or hate, as a matter of fact. Most people have a misconception about poetry. Poetry is not limited to just rhymes and long stanzas. Poetry is writing anything heart touching, irrespective of rhyme and length. The world is full of such poets and so is Instagram. Following are the 5 accounts which you should be following to read soothing lines: 1. @the_poetrybandit “We are in this together. I promise.” These 7 words can take anyone's worries away! This account belongs to a father, a husband and a man who just celebrated 3 years of sobriety. Only someone who has seen the darkness of life up close can write something which can touch your soul. View this post on Instagram People often ask me how I've been able to string 3 years of sobriety together. I often say you take it one step at a time. Sometimes a step is an hour, sometimes the step is getting over someone. That step could be a feeling, negative self talk, depression, anxiety, guilt, tragedy, and FEELINGS! Oh man. The feelings I felt when I stopped drinking were unbelievable. I can't count the number of AT&T commercials I cried over. The point is, it doesn't have to be sobriety or a mental health thing for you, it could be any tough moment you are experiencing. That's why I started this page 4 years ago and that's why I stayed. 16. The indie music scene here in India has evolved leaps and bounds in the last decade, and we have been witness to the grand shows that Nucleya, Hari & Sukhmani, MadBoy/Mink et al. have put up. These artists have recreated music and presented heady blends of vocals and musical notes, good enough to make a name and place for themselves in the commercial space, apart from delivering marvellous euphonies that can make your heart sing. But there is a different format of music in the indie music space that is slowly yet steadily gaining recognition and has been garnering a major fan following in India and that is the acapella music, which has been a popular genre of music worldwide for a long time. For those of you who may not be well aware of what acapella means, it is to sing without instrumental accompaniments but often complemented by beatboxing, as demonstrated in the popular movie 'Pitch Perfect'. While there are numerous acapella bands that are hugely popular around the globe and have been there for the longest time, here we chart out 6 of the most awesome Indian acapella groups that you must check out, if music is your drug: 1. RaagaTrippin' Touted to be India's very first Bollywood acapella group, they can create some of the most stunning renditions of Bollywood songs. Based out of aamchi Mumbai, the group is made up of seven superb talents namely, Gwen Dias, Suzanne D'Mello, Thomson Andrews, Gary Misquitta, Alan De Souza, Keshia Braganza and Leon De Souza. They ace the Jazz genre and have even performed with the 'Godfather of Indian Jazz' Louis Banks. 2. Voctronica Formed in 2011, Voctronica is said to be 'India's first beatboxing and vocal ensemble' and is based out of Mumbai. Fame came knocking at their door when their cover of 'Alt-J' went viral across social media platforms in 2015. The vocalists in this group are Warsha Easwar, Avinash Tewari, Meghana Bogle, Raj Verma, Clyde Rodrigues and Arjun Nair. Their music is upbeat and a mix of various genres. Last year they even collaborated with composer and singer Amit Trivedi for the Radio Mirchi Music Awards. 3. Penn Masala They need no introduction because whether you are into acapella or not, you must have stumbled across one of their videos on Facebook or Instagram. Penn Masala is one of the first South Asian acapella groups which was established way back in 1996 by Indian students in the University of Pennsylvania. Their western-Bollywood music medleys are to die for, while their simple Hindi music renditions also sound wonderful. They have also appeared in 'Pitch Perfect 2'. 4. No Treble Still making their space in the arena is this Bangalore based acapella group that started as a college level acapella team. They are into English and Bollywood music but also like to take up regional tunes. Their gigs have been well received by the audience but they haven't been very active online. The group also performed in the reality TV show 'India Banega Manch' on Colors TV. They have potential and we hope they find their moment of glory soon. 5. Aflatunes Another Mumbai based acapella group, this one isn't meant to be taken lightly. The name of their group is exactly what you should be expecting the group to whip up. The seven-member band comprises of both singers and beatboxers named Anish Nair, Dany Marshal, Jaimish Ashar, Ruchee Varghese, Nilay Singh, Pearl Alex and Joel Mathew. They have performed in numerous events including performances on the Rolling Stone Stage. 6. Vox Chord The Chennai based acapella group, Vox Chord came into the public eye when last year they sang an acapella version of Pakistan's national anthem Quami Taranah, as a gift on their Independence Day. The Twitterati on both the sides of the border applauded their soulful rendition. The group consists of three main singers, Alex Samuel Jenito, Vandana Mazan and Vaishnavi Kannan besides other artists who collaborate too. Beautiful, right?
  17. When I say 'boxing', how does it make you feel? A little scared and apprehensive? Well, it would make anyone feel like that if you've ever watched the pros throwing and taking punches and even succumbing to brain injuries. Yes, I am not going to lie to you. Professional boxers do get a lot of brain injuries because they spar or fight professionally, but if you ever take up boxing as a fitness challenge or a hobby, you don't have to worry about these injuries because you're only boxing for yourself, to keep your mettle and strength in check and trust me, it does a lot for you than just build strength and toughness. © Viacom 18 Motion Pictures If you train smart, with the right kind of academy, you'll actually be safe and work a lot on your mental and physical well being. I've been boxing for almost two years now and it has helped me out a lot. It has also taught me resilience and patience and has kept me sane when I needed to stay afloat. Here are some excellent benefits you can reap while learning how to box: (1) It Builds Athleticism You don't really have to be 'fit' to start boxing. That's what it does. Once you've begun the sport, it helps you build a lot of strength and endurance, something your body might not have faced before. It's the sport that indulges you in athleticism, because being a good boxer does require a lot of strength, endurance, agility and speed. So, it is a structural work out for your body. You just don't go start boxing while in a class. You first have to build your mobility strength and speed and eventually learn how to box. If your body is athletically inclined from before then it's always a bonus, although it's not a prerequisite to train in the sport. © Rajkumar Hirani Films (2) You Can Defend Yourself Whenever You Want This is one of the most obvious benefits of boxing. Any form of martial arts practised is used mostly defensively and boxing is one of the main, taking the lead. But defending oneself doesn't really come naturally. It only forms a habit when you have sparred at least 40-50 times with different opponents while learning the sport. You can easily work on your timing, footwork and speed to build a good amount of confidence to defend yourself from any attack, pre-emptively. © Vijayta Films I feel it's very important to know a form of sport or martial art, to be able to defend oneself on an onset of any kind of danger, and I can't think of anything other than boxing. It teaches you to control your movements, pre-empt an attack and strike at the right time. (3) It Increases Your Strength Physically & Mentally Physically, boxing is a great challenge to take up. Not only does it push you beyond your threshold to build endurance, it also increases your confidence to take punches like a man. The more you spar and train, the more you stand and fight, instead of turning your back and running away from your opponent. You are training your body and your mind constantly to persist. © Lionsgate Mentally, it's a great stress buster. Sparring and releasing all the pent-up energy makes you calmer as a person and less aggressive in life with people around you. Actually, any form of endorphin released from your body helps you do that, but since boxing is more physical than the rest and it includes contact with another body, most times, it helps to release any pent-up emotion you may have. It balances your centre and keeps your head straight. (4) Works On Your Self Confidence & Self Esteem Both your ability and your sense of self will turn around with regular practice. It's not easy to spar with random strangers while surrounded by a tough crowd, but if you can do that, there is nothing much you can shy away from. When you acquire a new skill and start putting it into practice religiously, you automatically feel that you can do a lot more and your confidence increases three fold. It's a natural process and it's great to be confident and sure about yourself at all times. © Rajkumar Hirani Films (5) It's A Great Workout & Helps Build Your Muscles Too Training to fight is one of the toughest workouts you can ever do, so if you ever see a boxer's body, you'll never find even an ounce of fat on it. It's always lean and ripped, ready to put up a great fight. Boxing works out on a lot of muscles too. Although you might not have really huge muscles, it surely works out the anterior, posterior deltoids, your biceps, triceps and a range of your back and core muscles. © Fox Star Studios Why are muscles involved in boxing and why it helps you build them? Well, because when you throw a powerful punch, you have to put your whole weight in motion, making your legs, hips, shoulders, back and abs all work together, in one swift motion. Muscle helps to support the punch and stabilize the body and its posture when it's in motion. So, building muscle is very important to be a good boxer. (6) Boxing Increases Kinaesthetic Intelligence Kinaesthetic intelligence is your own bodily awareness, spatial awareness and hand-eye coordination, and in order to work your body with the movement, you have to be kinaesthetically smart and agile. Not just for boxing, for any form of physical activity, especially martial arts. The brain teaches the body, to be more effective and efficient during a tough work out. So, in life, when you need your kinaesthetic to work well, it will come to you naturally, thanks to boxing. © Eros International (7) Boxing Is A Challenging Sport Boxing challenges you, more than any sport does. It's not because you get to throw punches at someone but because it's one of the few sports that work on your overall bodily growth, along with working on your mental endurance as well. It makes you get through challenging situations where you grapple with speed, agility, endurance, a lot of legwork, muscle strength and your confidence, constantly challenging you to become better. © Columbia Pictures So, if you're contemplating about which sport to take up and excel in, boxing should definitely be on your list. Either that, or take up a form of martial art, to keep your body agile and aware at all times. Boxing has definitely changed my life and I am sure if you take up the sport, it will change yours too.
  18. Just last week I read an article on how women are living in 'scary' times and the city has lost its safety net, where women are concerned. The news did unsettle me. Not that I didn't know we as women are always compromising on our safety, but those written words ascertaining our fears of dwelling in a city we grew up in, were becoming more transparent every day. The fear is real, I am not denying that but experiencing it is another level of existence altogether. © AA Films Just recently I happen to catch this movie called 'Stree', starring Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor and it baffled me relentlessly, thinking about the message it left me with. The movie is a dynamical mirror representation of our society and what it means to live under constant fear. The movie revolves around a small town in Madhya Pradesh which is haunted by the ghost of a young woman called 'Stree' (woman). She haunts the town once a year for four days, during a religious ceremony and picks up only men, who are not constrained behind their four walls and takes them away. What's bizarre is, she leaves their clothes behind, while she picks them up. The only way they can save themselves from Stree is by writing 'Stree Kal Aana' (Oh woman, come tomorrow), on the walls of their house, as a protective mantra. © AA Films The story is a representation of an age-old urban legend where men folks believed Stree to be an embodiment of a woman who was killed by village folks because she was in love with a man they didn't approve of. So she came back to find her lost lover and seek revenge from the men who unjustly killed her in a cruel way. The town lives in constant fear of this seductress spirit and cannot find a solution for her to stop taking the men away. The director, making his point out rightly has blended humour with horror quiet well and while you're getting spooked watching the movie, you're laughing at Rajkummar Rao's impeccable comic timing as well. The movie spun well in my mind. I thought it to be beautifully eerie, with an element of mystery and funny at the same time but then, when I digested the eventual takeaway, it actually got me thinking. Our society is quite like what it is in 'Stree', if the dynamics are completely changed and there is an apt role reversal. The director has very intelligently, might I add, made his point and driven it home. © AA Films Women live in constant fear in our society. Fear of walking the streets at night, fear of being picked up by fearless men, fear of grappling with living a comfortable life every day. In the movie, the men were on the edge for four days, every year because they feared their own fate. So they remained beneath closed doors, prayed to the Gods, asked their wives to protect them and even donned womanly attire to save themselves from Stree. Have you not realised, that's exactly how women live today? So, here I am, writing an article to urge every man to take away the best he can from the movie, which is a very subtle representation of the man-woman dynamic in our society. Here are some important life lessons 'Stree' is trying to teach every man. (1) It's Imperative To Slip Into Someone Else's Shoes In this case the director has taken this point out of the box and pinned it up really well. He tried to figuratively imbibe Atticus Finch's words into motion (the endearing character from 'To Kill A Mockingbird')- "climbing into someone else's skin and walking around in it", wherein, the director shows the men in town living under a strict curfew after hours, when there is danger lurking in the form of a woman. He made the men slip into women's characters and showed the fear of surviving in a space with predators roaming about. And that's the only way one can understand what a woman truly goes through, in a similar setting. To understand that, you truly have to understand the fear. © AA Films (2) You Face The Consequence For Everything We live in a world where everything is consequential and that's exactly what the director is trying to say as well. That no matter how hard hitting or subtle your wrong doing is, you have to eventually face the consequence, like the entire town did, trying their best to escape Stree after bestowing cruelty upon her. It's the Yin to every Yang and it completes the karmic circle. So before you take any step, always think about the consequences in hand. Either that, or constantly run away from your fears for the rest of your lives. © AA Films (3) Respect Can Go A Long Way How do you think Stree's painful journey ended towards the end, where she found peace eventually? It was a realisation that struck the protagonist (Rajkummar Rao), who faced his fears and came forward to acknowledge the wrongdoings of the men in town and took espinsibility for their consequences by showing her the respect she was looking for in the first place. And that's what the women in a society truly want and deserve from the men today. And that's why the movie's focus was more pronounced towards the end, when the men folk realised what they'd done was wrong and took steps to rectify it. How did they do it? By sculpting a statue of 'Stree' right at the brink of the town with the words 'Oh Stree Raksha Kar' (oh woman, protect us), etched on it, giving her (Stree) the respect she always wanted. © AA Films This article is not a feminist propaganda but an insight into a progressive cinema's metaphorical depiction of society, which some of you might have missed, within the realms of humour and horror the movie displays. The ardent lessons men can learn from this movie are plenty and I have just thrown light on the three main ones, leaving the rest for you to figure further. So, if you haven't watched the movie yet, I urge you to do so, to understand the society we live in today.
  19. I know that playing games sometimes is really a childish gambit, but there are some things you gotta do, to get the kind of attention you need and deserve from the woman you're attracted to, and playing hard to get is one of them! Even if she knows you're into her, don't throw yourself at her disposal, just so you can win her over. If she knows you're available for her all the time, then she will rain all over your parade and make it difficult for you to get what you really want. © Dharma Productions Playing hard to get is different from 'the chase' and in no way, it's as harsh as it sounds. It's just that it may backfire sometimes if you drag it along too far or if you play too hard to get, to get her attention. Other than that, it's a fun game to indulge in and by the end of it, we know for sure, she's going to be wanting you back as much as you want her in the first place. Here are 5 ways you can play hard to get to win her attention: (1) Do Not Give Her The Attention She Wants Yes, of course, she wants attention from you. Even if she doesn't say it, she always wants it. So, give her the attention she needs but not the attention she wants. Which means, you really need to get into your crush's head to figure out what kind of attention she wants and try and play hard to get around that. The thing is, if you give her the attention she wants, she will stop working towards caring about that attention from you and it'll all end there. So, always weigh the kind of attention you want to give her. Like, keep an eye on her but don't mollycoddle her, at least for a while. But don't create such a distance that she isn't interested in pursuing anything with you. Be smart about it. (2) Get Her To Make An Effort You obviously want your crush to make an effort for you, big or small. While she's making an effort, don't negate those efforts or act aloof and don't shy away from making efforts yourself. But remember to get her to make an effort for you. That's the one thing that will also bring equality into the equation, apart from playing hard to get. By playing hard to get, you can always make her feel in subtle ways, that making an effort for someone you care about isn't a bad thing at all. (3) Give Her A Chance To Miss You This one's important. Giving her space is very relevant if you want to win her attention. It makes her wonder about you more, which in turn makes her think about you and want to see you more often. It's like reverse psychology. Keeping her in mystery about your whereabouts really works like a charm. You can emerge once in a while and strike up a conversation. Don't go completely MIA on her, girls don't like that. In fact, be around from a distance, so that she misses you and wants to see you. (4) Build The Sexual Tension But Make Her Wait For *** If you're a smart guy, you'd know what I mean. Usually, women are a tease for men but sometimes men can be a tease too. You can build sexual tension in a lot of ways. You can attract her just by using your body language or by doing subtle things like sending hot selfies (not nudes!) of you, or using the element of mystery, to completely intrigue her. Whatever you do, build the sexual tension for a while but never give in, no matter how turned on the two of you are. This can be of great advantage for you, as she'll obviously want you more and when you do have *** with her eventually, it'll be great. (5) Use The Element Of Mystery Don't let her in easy, always keep your guard up for a while, when you're playing hard to get, just so she's more intrigued by your presence. Be the man of mystery, she is dying to solve! It's rather simple. A woman's mind tends to fill the missing gaps, when there is a lack of information. If you reveal everything at once, there is no scope for leaving anything to the imagination. Simply put, the psychology of attraction always helps if you don't reveal much about yourself and let them be as curious as they can, leaving an element of mystery, to ponder upon. So, let her want to know you more and more before you give in and become unguarded. Playing hard to get should never be stressful psychologically or otherwise for either of you. Don't come off as an ass****! Keep your distance intelligently and give her the affection she deserves, be mysterious but not stupid. Don't lose your lady love in the bargain and always respect her choices. Once she's completely into you, you can stop playing hard to get and get to know her like you want to, as well.
  20. While your 20s are the most formative years, progressing towards your manhood, they're also a constant reminder of the kind of man you're going to turn out to be in your 30s. So it's better to experience whatever you can and live to the fullest when you get a chance. Your 30s are also an age to find that one person who you want to spend the rest of your life with but to know who you want to spend your life with, you need to go through a barrage of different women to know what fits you perfectly well. No I am not saying you need to be a serial dater or you can't settle for someone in your 20s too. I am just saying it's good to go out with different women, who will probably shape the right person for you, whenever you start looking to settle. (c)Fox Star Studio So, I suggest live it up in your 20s and see what fits perfectly well, for you. Here are 5 kind of girls you'd find in your twenties, who you'd like to date. (1) The City Socialite She's a people's person and knows how and when to be charming. She also dresses to kill and loves doing so too. That doesn't make her a bimbette or eye candy. The urban sophisticate is calling the shots and makes sure she's the centre of attention, wherever she goes. She's not your regular outdoorsy adventure girl though but you'll have your own fun with her. Nothing comes in between her ambition and she gets what she wants usually. How's she in bed? Well, she loves being on top for sure. Maybe you can ask her to wear something sexy and expensive that highlight her breast, while she's on top. She'll definitely do it. (c)Eros International (2) The Arty Nouveau Hipster She's exciting and stylish and knows her art and her city very well. She'll swing you to the next jazz bar or a funky art exhibition where you think you'll get bored but her spunk won't let you in the least. If you want to know more about art and music, she's the right kind of girl to date. She knows her city culture like no one else and thrives on it too! It could be a stereotype but she's also an idealist and delves deep into theories of feminism and liberalism frequently. So, maybe your interest won't match perfectly well with hers, but she'll be a fun one to hang with. She's quite creative and dirty in bed, but her bed might not be clean. Maybe change the sheets once you're at her place? Geddit? (c)Panorama Studio (3) The Vegetarian/Vegan Yoga Lover Okay, this woman is probably out to make a deep connection in life and is looking for someone with similar goals. And if you want to do the same you will really like her. She has her goals in place and is very dedicated in life. She's a fitness and a health freak and believes in long back rubs with some essential oils. You'll often see her carry her yoga mat around while she shows off her super tight and round rear. If you suddenly start eating healthy and breathing slowly in life, you know she's good for you. Also, take her to the hills for a trek. She'll absolutely love that! She's slow and soulful in bed- a nice blend of Kamasutra and some intense yoga asanas, you'll actually love making love to her. Don't indulge her in a quickie though. She doesn't like them much. (c)Twitter (4) The Player Girl This one's a heartbreaker for sure but you need a heartbreak in your 20s to maybe prepare you for your 30s? She's a player and loves to play. She's hot one day and cold the other. There are big chances that she'll ghost you or forget about you because she has a long list of boys, who are her 'friends'. But this girl is a lot of fun and even if you're flinging with her, it's going to be absolutely worth it. Just try and not get too attached, that is all. She has no time for emotions or attachments because she loves her freedom a bit too much. She's quite experienced in bed because she loves to have *** and loves to be free and experimental, just like her personality. (c)Iluminati Films (5) The Simple Girl Next Door She's actually your girl next door. Kind, compassionate and empathetic, she's the girl everyone loves sharing their problems with because she's a great listener. She loves all things natural and is always too kind to everyone. Sometimes that gets annoying but you will definitely love her nature and the way she is around others. She's full of gratitude and if you ever do something nice for her, she'll hold you in high regard. Her love for animals is unconditional. She's a keeper, if you're okay with dating someone who is not much of an extrovert. She's a giver in bed and every opportunity she gets to make you happy, she takes it. Don't go taking advantage of her nature though. (c)Fox Star Studio So, maybe find these girls in your 20s and date them and have some fun and when you do reach your 30s someday, you'll know for sure what you want from the person you want to spend the rest of your life with.
  21. Amongst all the flak 'nepotism' has got in this day and age with all the debates and arguments doing the rounds about it, one thing is for certain. It really doesn't matter if you're a star kid being served on a silver platter, or a commoner who came to Mumbai with INR 500 in his or her pocket, as long as you have the talent and the determination, nothing can deter your spirit to make it big. Such is the case with Bollywood's newest sensation, who has done more versatile roles than Salman Khan's bare chest, on camera! Of course, I am talking about Rajkummar Rao and he's here to stay! © Pinterest You don't have fill in the standards for being 'perfect' or 'hot' or even 'good looking'. Not that I am saying Rao isn't a good-looking lad, but if you come with a plethora of talent and can fit into any role easily, you really don't have to depend on your looks as much. He's won awards for some fabulous roles and dialogue deliveries in films like 'Shahid' and 'Newton' and we can never wait too long to find out what he's churning out next. © Pinterest Now, he's done a role befitting every shade and genre of a typical Indian man. Some of his roles get too real for an assumption, but they're well executed and bring out the realism that life wants us to deal with. Yes, we love Rajkummar Rao and there's a little bit of every Indian man, in each one of his roles, he's ever portrayed. Here are 7 prominent roles Rajkummar Rao has ever portrayed. Which one do you identify with the most? (1) Shaurya From 'Trapped' Shaurya is a city dweller, who like most men struggling in Mumbai, is living on the hope that things will finally fall back to place in his life. He's ambitious and a non-quitter and he does get 'trapped' in a situation he can barely make his way out from. And why? Only because he goes all out for love and wants to keep it fresh and alive in his life. That's what the story is all about. Shaurya wants to get an apartment so that he can move in with his girlfriend, but the only one he can afford is on the 35th floor of a secluded building, which is still under construction. © Reliance Entertainment He gets locked in the house for several days without food and water and that's where you see the real character come out. He maintains his grit to come out as a survivor and a real hero who has patience and an 'I don't give up that easy' attitude. Are you a non-quitter too, who will go to any length to solve a daunting problem in your life? If yes, then this is the character for you. (2) Newton Kumar From 'Newton' Newton is a character full of idealism and hope who always sticks out for what is right! Rajkummar Rao plays a government clerk who's steadfastly doing what is always right and sticking up for the wrong in society. He's sincere and sometimes gets confused for a simpleton who doesn't understand the ways of the world. So, if you're an idealist stuck in a world where you stand up for what's wrong because you feel it's your responsibility, this is the character for you! © Eros International (3) Pritam Vidrohi From 'Bareilly Ki Barfi' So his last name in the movie is 'Vidrohi' which explains his character well. Pritam Vidrohi is a rebel without a cause, an outspoken fearless man who will even don a sari to make a sale! You see his character shift from a sombre, mild-mannered man to a Vidrohi (rebel) because he's been bullied all his life! But even so, he takes life with a pinch of salt and stands up to take on a fight whenever someone treats him like a pushover! Which is what happened all his life. Relate much? © AA Films (4) Shahid Azmi From 'Shahid' It's unfair to compare anyone to Shahid Azmi because the movie is based on the late advocate's life but there are some character traits that can match your personality too. Rajkummar Rao plays the 33-year-old criminal defence lawyer, who was criticised for representing people accused in terror cases. Standing up for your own self is one thing but fighting for someone else who needs a good fight is another. That was what Shahid Azmi did when he stood up for the Muslim men who were wrongly accused of terrorism. Have you been the kinda guy who's stood up and fought for someone else's right? © UTV Motion Picture (5) Vicky From 'Stree' Vicky, who is a very talented tailor is also fearless. When the whole village believes that it's haunted by a vengeful witch, Vicky is the only one who believes that her reason for haunting the villagers is that she's had a traumatising death, and no one gave her the respect she truly deserved when she was alive. Which is also a great metaphor for a man standing up for a woman, when he knows she's being disrespected in society! He's also the one who ends her tireless quest to find answers in the village, by being fearless and facing her, to help her end her misery! A lot of men need to be Vicky today! © AA films (6) Vijay From 'Queen' Okay, maybe very few of you will identify with this character only because he's not the ideal man, but there are men like Vijay, who shy away from responsibility when it doesn't suit them but do come around! Vijay is set to marry Rani but he then ditches her because he feels she doesn't have a modern outlook towards life, only to realise later on that she's the real queen of his life. Why? Because she sends him a picture by mistake which shows off her cleavage a little bit. He flies halfway across the world to apologise and win her back. Would you do that for someone when you know you've truly messed up? Then you're this guy! © Viacom 18 Motion Pictures (7) Gattu From 'Behen Hogi Teri' Gattu is one lovesick puppy who doesn't give up on love. He's been in love with the same woman since he was a kid and even though she treats him like a brother, he can't change the way he feels. That's a little disturbing but are you the guy who never gives up on true love? Then you're Gattu! © AA Films It doesn't matter which Rajkummar Rao character you resonate with the most since all of them are brilliant. What matters is, if you do relate to a character, you're a good human being because all his characters are about never giving up on anything, standing up for yourself, or for someone else and lastly standing up for love, always!
  22. One of the biggest myths that most people have about building strength is that they think that a gym membership is required to do so. While the truth is that 'starting strength' can be built right inside your house, using your body as the mode of resistance. Yup, body weight exercises are very underrated and especially by total beginners. A few weeks back I detailed on a number of exercises you must get strong on before spending on a gym membership. With this piece I'll chop up a very basic upper exercise called the pull-ups/chin-ups. The Pull-Up Solution © YouTube If you are a beginner and can't do a single pull-up, don't worry. You aren't alone and that's very natural when you haven't ever taken exercising seriously. The best way to get better at or start doing pull-ups is, well, DO pull-ups. Yes, practice. Pull-ups is one exercise that gets better and better with more and more sets and reps over time. So read this tutorial and prep yourself for a lot of failure before eventual success and loads of strength. The Pull-Up Bar It is one of the most common yet the most under-utilized strength equipment you can get installed at your place. Priced at about Rs 2000-3000, you get a decent bar that can easily hold up to 200 kilos of hanging weight. You can opt for the classic single straight rod or a multiple pull-up/chin-up grip. I'll prefer a multiple grip rod because it gives you a choice to use different grips to best adjust your pull ups. How To Start © Ebay Once you are well versed with the correct posture, gripping and hand placement, do this. Your first goal is to crack in 10 pull ups. No, they don't have to be in straight set. Do one when you can do only one, do two when you can and so on. The point is to get as many in one go as you can with correct form. If you are absolute beginner, spread your reps over the course of the day or however much time you spend at your place. Make it a point to do at least 10 pull ups every day. This will soon add up and you will see yourself getting stronger and proficient at performing the pull.
  23. When it comes to making girls go weak in the knees, there are only a few things that stand out, which can make you absolutely desirable to them. Obviously, all women are different and not all of them want the same things. However, there are a few things which most girls really look forward to in a man, a few things that really top the list and are actually quite irresistible, and if you know these things, you're actually sorted to get any girl you like or want. © AA Films What a girl really desires from her man has a lot to do with how he behaves around her, more than anything else, which makes it a notch up above looks and physique and it's the first thing that impresses any woman. So, here are 5 things you can do, to actually make yourself desirable to her, so that she goes absolutely weak in the knees, every time you're around her: (1) Show Genuine Kindness Whenever You Can Girls really dig a man who is super kind. She will definitely observe you in order to figure out how you treat others around you. Be it someone from the staff of a public place or even an animal, her checklist definitely includes your kindness quotient. So, even if you're faking kindness, make it seem genuine? © Zee films (2) Pay Attention To What She Says This is one of the simplest things to do, yet men all over fail to do so! By paying attention, I don't mean observe her every little move, I mean pay attention to what she says, show her that you're right there and are not zoned out while she's talking to you. You can actually win her heart if you pay attention to the things she says and does. © Yash Raj Films (3) Be Generous By that I obviously don't mean be generous with money or buying her gifts. While she would love to be pampered by you, she seeks generosity in terms of intangibles. Be generous towards her with your time, attention and affection. Inherently, that's what women seek from a man. © Eros International (4) Be Supportive She might be talking to you about a minor problem she's facing at work or how she's feeling toward a particular issue, so just be there for her and be supportive. You can do that by asking her the right questions which show concern, or giving her some unsolicited advice or even just hearing her out. Sometimes being a good listener does the trick too. Make sure she knows you're being supportive. © Yash Raj Films (5) Show Her Your Soft Side There is no harm in being a bit vulnerable towards the girl you really like or want. Every man has an EQ and if you are a softy inside, it's okay to show it. Trust me, women love that side of a man. Always acting like a tough macho man, really won't get you too far with her. If you're caring, sweet and attentive, she'll fall hard for you. © AA Films So, the next time you set your eyes on someone you really like and want, make sure you have these 5 tips nailed down to the T, before approaching her.
  24. I can't think of a better deal for men than women openly voicing out what they like and don't like. It's almost like you don't have to try too hard to figure out why women are mysterious, as long as they're vocal and if I have to give any advice to you lot, it's just going to be about how you should already know what women want, by the virtue of how they express themselves often. Don't get me yet? I stumbled upon this excellent compilation of 'women sharing their first date experiences' on Twitter and some of it is actually avoidable. It's only helpful for you because you're hearing it straight from the horse's mouth! © Pinterest A Twitter handle by the name of 'A Tribe Called Breast' asked some ladies to share their first date experiences and the ladies didn't stop telling since! Here, take a look and get some ideas, and the dos and don'ts in place! Ladies: tell me your worst date. — A Tribe Called Breast (@_ItsMissBre) 23 August 2018 A guy spent all of dinner telling me about his ex-girlfriends and how after each break-up he had to move out of their place and move back home. Then he asked how big my apartment was. https://t.co/XgbDwzzHhO — Danielle Sepulveres (@ellesep) 27 August 2018 Wow. Talk about a serial apartment inhabitant! Like seriously, why would you even bring up your ex girlfriends? That's one thing YOU should never do, unless of course she asks you point blank! Took me to a dinner where he didn't make reservations, so we couldn't get a table. Go to a different place where he proceeds to drink too much. On the way home asks me to get out two stops before my actual station to watch him pee into the train tracks. https://t.co/nLQ5Ecg0Kr — Natt à¸à¸²à¸£à¸¸à¸à¸£à¸±à¸à¸©à¸µà¸§à¸à¸¨à¹ (@nattgarun) 29 August 2018 Really, don't know what to say to this one except maybe plan your date better and don't drink like a thirsty goat on your first date? Why would you want to get drunk out of your mind instead of getting to know the woman you're on a date with? Oh and don't make her watch you pee? He picked me up on a Sunday morning. Thought we are going to have a breakfast date at a hotel. Ended up in the hotel's conference room where his church gathersð® Had to sit through a 2 hour church service ð¥ https://t.co/AL8br17vB2 — La Dolce Far Niente (@Onhwa86) 27 August 2018 Did I ever tell you about this one time I was on a date with a guy and he spent the whole evening trying to tell me about the goodness Christianity brings to people's lives, hoping I'd convert. He even tried to hand me some pamphlets. It was really weird. I mean what the fu** right? This one's exactly like that. Don't talk about religion on your first date. It really doesn't serve much of a purpose. © Pinterest Over coffee, he told me he was married but that his wife was "flexible". There was no second date. https://t.co/A20N8kGcl8 — Elizabeth (@historyinpearls) 29 August 2018 Uhh seriously? Don't pull this off. Ever. He talked about himself nonstop and only asked me two questions: 1) Was Michael Jackson guilty and 2) What was the point of the Dewey Decimal System? Then he got an emergency text about a fire in the chemistry lab he was supervising and invited me to come. HARD PASS. https://t.co/V6LUzTKJZ1 — Danielle Dreger (@DanielleDregerB) 28 August 2018 Okay guys, another reason why you may never get a second date is because all you did in the first date was talk about yourself and made the evening all about you and then just asked her to go home with you. I mean, why would she? Balance it out and ask relevant questions. Walked me to the bar, popped me down on a seat, said he was going for a shit, never came back. https://t.co/DC4aBoJbBH — Quim Jong-un (@sheikyerbouti_) 28 August 2018 Ouch. What a shitty excuse. © Twitter I showed up to meet a guy I'd only talked to online and the first thing out of his mouth was "You looked prettier in your pictures." Coincidentally it was also my shortest date. https://t.co/0vdA17mlnk — holly. (@hollydiggity) 28 August 2018 Yeaahhh, for all the 'blind daters' and people who meet online and then plan a date offline- if you don't like what you see, then be polite about it. He was a professional athlete who kept making sure I knew how impressive he was, and then told me in the car ON THE WAY to the restaurant, "There's a 90% chance I'm gonna sleep with you tonight." I guess he underestimated my 10% say in the matter. https://t.co/XlsKdTErvE — Kristin Butz (@TheRuralGaucho) 29 August 2018 This is just bad date ethics. Absolutely bad! Don't overestimate anything, ever! First Date: he took me home and we cooked/ate dinner with his mom and dad. https://t.co/jXBhnc2NOF — Kara McDowell (@karajmcdowell) 28 August 2018 Umm, why would you have a family dinner with your first date? What kind of a hurry are you in? Watched The Dark Knight in his room and he kept pausing it to check that I understood what was going on. Also lent me Sophie's Choice so that I would understand his degree better (he did philosophy) https://t.co/Zam06DkSGR — fre shavoc a do (@charlotteearney) 28 August 2018 I literally have no words except, don't underestimate the woman you're with, ever! © Thinkstock And here's 'Just Some Guy', acknowledging how 'wild' these stories are! the stories you all are sharing about worst dates are mad wild — just some guy (@b_eternal757) 23 August 2018 But seriously, if you're ever out on a first date with a woman, just be yourself, don't get too drunk or rude and underestimate her! Don't get ahead of yourself and certainly don't eat with your mouth open and always listen to the ladies!
  25. We were at Gamescom last week and got to see Cyberpunk 2077 gameplay behind closed doors, before it was made available for the public. The game looked ready to us, at least in the demo we got to see. You would start with a create-your-own character menu where you would customise your character. © CDProjekt RED The demo began with V, heading out to a gang hideout with our partner in crime Jackie. After a tense conversation, the mission escalates into a firefight. The gameplay showed off the gunplay of Cyberpunk 2077 where it was deeply rooted as a role-playing game. We were then given a mission to retrieve a spider looking drone from the Maelstrom gang. We got a glimpse at the astonishing visuals of Night City and the attention to detail CDprojekt Red is known for. © CDProjekt RED The gameplay is now ready for everyone to see and game director Adam Badowski said with the release of the gameplay, "What we're releasing today was recorded from a game deep in development, Since many of the assets and mechanics in the current version of Cyberpunk 2077 are most likely to be modified, we initially decided to show this gameplay only to media. Elements like gunplay (both in terms of visuals and how RPG stats influence it), not running, car physics, or the game's UI--everything's pretty much still in the playtest phase and we felt uneasy about publicly committing to any particular design." © CDProjekt RED “Animation glitches, work-in-progress character facial expressions, early versions of locations--all this made us hesitant to release what you're about to see. However, we are also well aware that many of you want to see what the media saw. Although this is probably not the same game you'll see on your screen when we launch, we still decided to share this 48-minute video with you. This is how Cyberpunk 2077 looks today. Let us know what you think!” he said. © CDProjekt RED The released gameplay may give you a glimpse of the game, as there were a few things that were shown to us and are not a part of the video. We, the audience, were given the choice to choose the gender of the character. In the create-your-character section, we could also choose a backstory and our childhood hero. Along with a range of weapons shown in the video, CDProjekt Red chose not to show what they showed us. Apart from being a shooter, our character could also use a katana with special abilities to hack off enemies. The sword, when held in the parry position, was capable of generating a force field around us that deflected bullets and projectiles. When we were done with the full demo, I was just staring at the blank screen with my mouth wide open. That's how good it looked! In my head, I gave the game a 10/10 after what I just witnessed. It was and probably will be the best game I have seen at Gamescom or maybe even 2018. If you want to see the gameplay for yourself, you can always watch the demo below:
