  1. If you haven't seen the swan song of 'Game of Thrones', you probably shouldn't read ahead. With Stark children in all their 'rightful' places that in a way defines closure for them as characters, we now know that they're doing something they've had intentions of before but never got around doing because of circumstances. Like how Jon once said to Ygritte that he wanted to wander around sans responsibility. He's doing that, in the end, considering no one needs a Night's Watch anymore. And Arya is off for another adventure, something she once mentioned during her time in Braavos. © HBO Arya once asked, "Essos is East. Westeros is West, but what's West of Westeros?" A question no one in Westeros can answer because that's where all the maps end. No one really knows. With the White Walkers dead, and the Mad Queen murdered, there's really no action left in Westeros. They're going to try and rebuild the city and the damage a dragon and his mother had caused. But sedentary life was never made for Arya. She's already declined Gendry's proposal because that's not her. But here's the thing, after wrapping up a successful series like 'Game of Thrones', HBO is open to the idea of spin-offs, one of which is already in the making. But here's a spin-off we wouldn't mind watching: Arya the Adventurer and her explorations of a world beyond Westeros. Arya mentioned back in Season 6 to Lady Crane that no one knows what's West of Westeros. So she created her own Stark fleet with a Stark sigil atop. Fans have requested for the spin-off on her extended storyline and honestly, it makes sense. Unlike the show, the books do provide a little information about what's West of Westeros. Like Daenerys, Arya will have to cross the Sunset Sea. According to the 'Wiki of Ice and Fire', the Sunset Sea contains animals like swordfish, seals and whales but no one has ever successfully crossed this sea, according to Martin. Somewhat fittingly, the last person to try was another King Bran Stark — Brandon the Shipwright from the North. But he was never heard of again. But now we know Arya is made differently. She can survive this and that would make for a brilliant story that we'd love to hear.
  2. Ever since 'Cyclone Fani' wreaked havoc in Odisha, the state has been struggling to get back on its feet. Amidst the worsening situation, Bollywood's OG Khiladi Akshay Kumar emerged as a silver lining, by donating Rs. 1 crore to the cyclone victims in Odisha. © Instagram Although there might be controversies regarding his citizenship, the fact remains that Akshay Kumar has never refrained from going the extra mile for the country and society. This time around too, he reportedly donated Rs. 1 crore to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund to help the Odisha cyclone victims. According to a report in Hindustan Times, a source revealed this news and said, "This is not new. Akshay has always been contributing for causes, be it his Bharat ke Veer initiative for the armed forces, or his contribution to the Kerala Floods or Chennai floods earlier." © Instagram Earlier in 2015, Akshay had donated Rs. 1 crore for the Chennai flood relief work. He has also been actively donating and urging his fans to contribute to 'Bharat Ke Veer', an initiative launched by him and the Government of India, for the bravehearts and their families. Nature showed its wrath in Odisha with 'Cyclone Fani' recently, and we lost many innocent lives and there are videos that show the extent of infrastructural damage the state has gone through. So far, more than 30 people have been killed and hundreds of houses have been destroyed, despite the planned evacuation. © Instagram But, Odisha refused to give up and so did the entire nation, by coming forward to support the relief work and pray for their safety. Once again, people of the country proved that nothing can break their spirit. Currently, Akshay Kumar is working on his upcoming film 'Sooryavanshi'.
  3. It's not every day that you see a brand make a bold move to outdo its competitor. And even rarer to see a beer brand ditch the subtle nuances and go for the direct dig. But that's exactly what happened when Beck's Ice launched their new digital film. With just one bird, they managed to say a lot. For those of you who still haven't managed to catch this quirky dig, bring out the tub of popcorn and see this new competition unfold. With their innovative and subtle yet obvious dig, Beck's Ice has caught everyone's attention this summer. And rightly so! Their social media handles are flooded with responses to the video. While some of them are ready to once and for all settle who is the best, others are enjoying this spirited approach and are all about giving this smooth malt beer a go! After all, what else does one need to escape the summer heat besides a refreshing beer and a summer getaway – two points that they have made very clear in their digital film. While other brands in the beer segment market themselves alike, Beck's Ice decided to stand out from the rest through this tongue-in-cheek flair. In a one-of-its-kind move, the brand has openly spoken about its ingredient story making it an interesting marketing strategy that will not only help them maintain but also gain a loyal customer base. For all those who haven't yet got your hands on this recently launched brew – here's some deets you should know! Beck's Ice is a smooth beer with a German heritage and here's a fun fact – it's a beer that is made with 100% pure malt. So what you really waiting for, it's just going to get hotter and this refreshing brew is your only escape!
  4. We've seen so many pictures that were clicked right before catastrophe struck and half the time they're chilling and the rest of the time they're funny. Now, there's a picture that's going viral that was clicked just an hour before the Notre Dame Cathedral fire started and it's going viral for all the right reasons. Brooke Windsor managed to capture a beutiful moment right in front of Notre Dame and clicked a heartwarming picture of what seems like a father and daughter playing around and having fun. While it is already an adorable picture, what makes it special was that it was clicked about an hour before the terrible fire occured at the historical place. I took this photo as we were leaving #NotreDame about an hour before it caught on fire. I almost went up to the dad and asked if he wanted it. Now I wish I had. Twitter if you have any magic, help him find this ðð¼ pic.twitter.com/pEu33ubqCK — Brooke Windsor (@brookeawindsor) April 16, 2019 I don't have to tell anyone about teh power of social media and that's why Brooke also asked everyone to help her find them so they can have this memorable picture. Ever since she shared this on Twitter, the picture and the tweet and have gone viral with everyone trying to help out in any way they can, even if it's just a retweet. The replies to the tweet also became a place where everyone shared their own last picture of Notre Dame and they're all so beautiful. Inside before the fires. My friends noticed the smoke, and we followed (2/?) pic.twitter.com/l76nF0jAIv — Brooke Windsor (@brookeawindsor) April 16, 2019 This particular story is pretty similar to viral story from last year when someone clicked a picture of two strangers getting engaged and managed to capute that memorable moment at Yosemite National Park. Twitter help, idk who these two are but I hope this finds them. I took this at Taft Point at Yosemite National Park, on October 6th, 2018. pic.twitter.com/Rdzy0QqFbY — Matthew Dippel (@TheCornChips) October 17, 2018 Good news though, he managed to finally find them so there's a lort of hope for the Notre Dame picture as well.
  5. What's up everyone? It's our girl Superwoman out there making India proud! Lilly Singh aka Superwoman has just become the first Indian-origin woman to host a Late Night talk show and basically the entire world is showing nothing but support for her. It's official. Ya girl is getting her own @nbc late night show... A Little Late with Lilly Singh. Thank you so much for being here. I am truly so grateful. â¤ï¸ Thank you @jimmyfallon @sethmeyers pic.twitter.com/h44HoPRtel — Lilly Singh (@IISuperwomanII) March 15, 2019 She started off her career online by posting YouTube videos on her channel ||Superwoman|| and quickly became a fan favourite on the website because of her hilarious and relatable content. Imagine going from making YouTube videos in your room to getting your own talk show down the line. Sounds like a dream, right? Does it make you want to go back in time and start a YouTube channel doing stupid things and posting it online? Coming back to her show 'A Little Late with Lilly Singh', she's taking over Carson Daly's 1:30 am slot on NBC and the show is expected to debut this year in December. This is not just important because she's Indian-Canadian, but also because she would be joining the few women hosts in a majorly male-dominated area. Moreover, she's also an openly bisexual woman, so it's like a trifecta of representation. Ever since the news broke online, all her fans and even celebrities have been showing excitement over this and are tweeting showing support. National jiju has spoken. YES! So awesome congrats! — Nick Jonas (@nickjonas) March 15, 2019 The shade was so good. Thanks bro in law! Appreciate you tweeting this while probably still celebrating your wedding haha! 6. Any sane person knows that sending unsolicited 'dick pics' is straight up sexual harassment, there's no doubt about that. Actually, every single person should know this now, especially after the MeToo movement, but I guess some people still haven't gotten the memo. Today, renowned journalist Barkha Dutt shared the screenshot of an unsolicited dick pic she received on Whatsapp. Yes, it was great for her to call out such creeps and it was the right thing to file a complaint and take official action. However, the problem that a lot of people are having with her tweet is that she seems to have politicised the rather sensitive subject of sexual harassment. Also, everyone's asking the same question right now- how do you tell someone's a nationalist by just looking at their dick? This is terrible @BDUTT. This man shd be caught and punished. Not sure how you could identify political ideology based on genitalia though? ð¤https://t.co/rfo7lw2pLr — Anuraag Saxena (@anuraag_saxena) February 18, 2019 We're all with her when it comes to calling out these horrible trolls. .@BDUTT is being viciously trolled. Someone has leaked her number and she's being barraged with horrendous obscenities and images. This is the absolute pits. What a low. There was a face recognition software but Barkha's phone have body parts recognition software which tell you weather the part from nationalist or anti-national. Brawo for inventing new software. @BDUTT — Angry Bird (@flyingvoyage) February 18, 2019 Everyone is confused. It's disgusting and action shud be taken on the person but where is nationalism here ? 𤠗 Amit A (@Amit_smiling) February 18, 2019 Umm. Where is the nationalilsm mentioned ð¡ð¡ð¡ð¡ — Aman Ranjan Bhumihar (@im_ak_ranjan) February 18, 2019 Yes, he definitely should. Throughout history, male genital has been used by sexual terrorists to show misplaced power and vile valour...esply to threaten & humiliate women. Sadly, some are doing so in our times, in India, on Twitter. Send the beast, who has done this to Barkha, to jail. @BDUTT 17/n — Sudheendra Kulkarni (@SudheenKulkarni) February 18, 2019 So @BDUTT can look at the private parts of a man & say what IDEOLOGY he follows? I think we should send all the "Terror-suspects" to her. She'll "check" & let us know if the person is guilty or not. ððð — Poornima Nayak (@FullmoonNayak) February 18, 2019 "Terrorism has no Religion but 'genitals" have political ideology" Barkha Dutt school of journalism!!! pic.twitter.com/jfhqrct4E5 — Seema Choudhary (@Seems3r) February 18, 2019 I stand for @BDUTT - without any hangups on our differences in politics. But also want to shame her for her cheap and deeply dangerous antics! https://t.co/en5AjqBSji pic.twitter.com/Z1N6FGR3ou — Shubhrastha (@Shubhrastha) February 18, 2019
  7. If you are a millennial, a regular Uber user, or just someone who spends more than eight hours on the internet, chances are, you've already heard about the recent craze around Uber Ratings. We know what you're thinking. Is this really happening? Is this some new sort of lifestyle benchmark? Is this here to stay? Well, duh. Up until now, you have been rating your drivers, but we bet you didn't know that the drivers are rating you too, and from what we hear, the higher your Uber rating, the better you are as a human being. Uber Ratings are definitely the next big trend in 2019 and it's taking our social media feed by storm. Don't believe us? Take a look at these hilarious posts that have created a bit of a buzz recently. Spoiler alert: How you treat your drivers might reflect on how your next date treats you. 1. No Rating, No Date Seems like this guy takes Uber Ratings quite seriously. His online dating profile legit says, “Swipe right if your Uber rating is 4.8+”. Meaning? You need to improve your rating, in order to get back to dating. 2. Want A Job? Get Yourself A 4.7+ Rating Yes, you saw that right! You may need an Uber rating of 4.75 or above to land a job! Time to update your CV, isn't it? 3. Uber Rating On Marriage Proposals! Yup, we were just as surprised. Uber ratings are now a requirement for getting married as well. If the perfect rishta doesn't get you to take Uber ratings seriously, we don't know what will. 4. When Your Crush Chooses A Partner Based On Uber Rating So, tell us- what kind of a person are you? Can your Uber rating attest to that? And don't worry, we're not all saints. We have quite a few people that we know and love who don't have the best rider ratings- but there are many ways to improve. Post your #UberRating and maybe you'll find answers- and if not answers, you'll find friends with the same troubles as yours! 8. It's no surprise Facebook has been losing its most lucrative bunch of users, the teens, lately. It has become a universal rule, every social network slowly starts seeing a decline in the number of active users over a period of time. This is because users are always looking for something different and get carried away with fads. Facebook killed Orkut and MySpace, and there was a time when we saw Snapchat taking over the reins. But, unlike the previous cases, Facebook has become a behemoth and acquired loads of interesting companies that'll ensure its survival. © Twitter Though, it hasn't given up on luring users back to the classic platform. How do you attract teens in 2019? Well, with memes. The social media giant is working on a whole new section called LOL that will apparently have bone-tickling memes and GIFs that can be used to share on the platform. A Facebook spokesperson confirmed the company is experimenting with the idea. It's supposed to be a simple piece of software featuring a feed of memes and GIFs categorized by topics like “dogs” and “pranks,” and Facebook is currently testing it with 100 high school users. Similarly, Facebook had also tested "Facebook Watch", the company's video-centric tab to take on competition from YouTube. © TechCrunch From TechCrunch's screen grabs, LOL's design and features draw comparisons to Snapchat's Discover feed. But Facebook has yet to decide whether LOL will exist as a standalone app, or as a feature within the existing app. The social network also owns the popular image sharing social network Instagram and instant messenger WhatsApp. These two combined give the company unprecedented backup options, but Facebook wants its users to be on Facebook. While teens have flocked new apps, Facebook is now often said to have been taken over by parents. © TechCrunch According to a study from the Pew Research Center, teens and young adults in the US are leaving Facebook for other social media sites like Instagram and Snapchat. The study reveals that only 51 per cent of teens aged between 13 and 17 use Facebook in the US. Every effort to lure the younger crowd has failed and with newer genres like TikTok coming in, the company faces even more challenges. Last year, thanks to the Cambridge Analytica scandal and repeated privacy flags have dented the social network's reputation. Source: TechCrunch
  9. No one's talking about the devastating floods in Kerala anymore, but that doesn't mean everything there has been fixed and restored, it just means that people have seemingly stopped taking an interest since it has become 'old news' now. But, the Khalsa Aid is always there to help, no matter what. We have already heard so many great things about this organization, that tirelessly and selflessly helps anyone in need, but they always surprise us even more. Tweeting about how the Khalsa Aid workers are still in Kerala helping in rehabilitation, they made sure to remind people that they would never simply walk away just a few days after a disaster. Clearly, the whole of Bollywood was wondering the same thing when they attended the wedding, and boy did they 'dress'! Everyone put their best foot forward, but two gentlemen who stole everyone's thunder were Shah Rukh Khan and Suniel Shetty. Why, you ask? They brought back the incredibly underrated and most ignored item of Indian ethnic menswear - the good ol' Dhoti. Take a look! © Viral Bhayani © Viral Bhayani Both of them wore white dhotis and paired them with black achkans. 11. If you have grown up in an Indian household, then you know exactly what 'CID' means. The show was not just any TV serial we binge-watched while growing up (and still do), but something that was a part of all our lives. ACP Pradyuman and his iconic dialogue 'Daya darwaza todo' has been a part of lives for 21 years now. Sadly, as per latest reports, it turns out that the show is coming to an end this month and fans are clearly not happy. Dear @SonyTV please don't end CID. The last episode will air on 27th October, and while we hope that the show is revived, until then we have the re-runs to fuel our CID cravings.
  12. Arguably one of the biggest names in Indian cricket, Mahendra Singh Dhoni continues to garner praise for his brilliance on the field and gets criticised every time he fails to live up to the expectations of a billion fans. Such is India's obsession with the Jharkhand cricketer that no matter what he does - both on and off the field, it becomes a subject of public interest. A calm and cool campaigner who rarely allows his emotions to get the better of him, Dhoni is quite a private person in his life away from the playing field. While his teammates are often seen glued to their gadgets, Dhoni has often been accused of staying away from mobile phones. © BCCL In fact, there have been a lot of cricketers who've claimed in the past that it is hard to get in touch with Dhoni on the phone. Clearing the air for the very first time, the former Indian captain revealed: "Me and technology, there is a big divide. I don't use phones so much and there are lot of stories I don't pick up phones". "But I do use technology as well. When I am shown some videos, you wonder if I am playing it right. Technology has to be used in right way," the 37-year-old cricketer said. © BCCL Dhoni's reluctance to use technology was one of the main reasons why he was missing from VVS Laxman's retirement bash in 2012 which further raised questions on the rapport the two cricketers shared. "You think it's a controversy but people who know me always complained that I'm someone who is quite difficult to get hold of. That was one of the reasons why Laxmanbhai could not get hold of me," Dhoni claimed. "That's not something new. I have tried to improve but it seems I have not really improved," he added. Dhoni was part of the Indian side that defeated England 2-1 in the T20I series before suffering a loss in the ODIs. While his teammates are busy preparing for the second Test at Lord's, Dhoni will be seen in action during the 2018 Asia Cup which is slated to begin from 15th September in United Arab Emirates (UAE).
