  1. While the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Prime Minister Narendra Modi are probably celebrating their victory and the chance of running the country for another 5 years, there's one guy who is crying his heart out for losing in the Lok Sabha 2019 elections. YouTube Neetu Shuttern Wala, who hails from Jalandhar, stood independently in the recently held polls and claims to have gotten only 5 votes. When he was being interviewed, he broke down before the camera and started crying. Well, he is crying not because of the alleged 5 votes. He is crying because he got 5 votes despite having 9 people in his own family. Yes, his own family members betrayed him and didn't vote for him. The man, while wiping his tears, blamed his family and accused the EVM machines of tampering in the voting process, which resulted in his loss. The reporter then proceeded to leave no stone unturned to rub salt on the poor guy's wounds and asked him, "When your own family doesn't support you, how can you expect outsiders to help you?" Well, the man is so disheartened with the results that he has decided to not run for the elections ever again. We feel you man, we really do! But, people on Twitter are having a field day laughing at his misery. 2. He is unfiltered, unapologetic, never shies away from putting forth his opinions and steers clear of the privilege that the 'Deol' tag offers him, particularly in his career. We are talking about none other than Abhay Deol here, the man who took his sweet time to carve a niche for himself in the industry, solely on his acting prowess. While most actors were busy ensuring their box office scores kept soaring, we had Abhay on the other side, churning out meaningful stories with his power-packed performances. He is surely among the rare breed of sorted actors we have in the industry right now. Be it 'Dev D' or 'Aisha' or 'Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara', Abhay has never failed to impress us with his brilliance in his craft. If you have been missing watching him on the big screen, we have some good news for you. Abhay is coming back with his Netflix series 'Chopsticks' and a film titled 'Jungle Cry'. If you go by the trailers, you would have gotten an idea by now that something great is in store for you. Before you see him on the big screen and on your laptop screens, MensXP got you the unfiltered version of Abhay Deol, as we got a chance to interact with him and talk about some rather controversial issues. When we asked him if he has come to terms with the idea of his persona in the industry, which is known for being someone with rather strong opinions, Abhay said, "not sure what there is to come to terms with. Isn't that a good thing? As long as you don't force your opinions on others and are open to new ideas, there's no problem." If you have seen any of Abhay's films, you would know that he is known more for his choices of offbeat cinema. As a movie buff, I wanted to know what does he see in a script before giving a final nod to it. "Relatability, originality, context. I'm attracted to stories and characters that I can relate to, I look for originality even if it is a genre that has been done many times, and context, by which I mean where is it placed, how does it relate to that place, what is it saying about that place and why." Abhay started way too early when we talk about content-based cinema. Now, Bollywood is completely changing and content has now become the king. We have unconventional heroes like Rajkummar Rao, Vicky Kaushal and Ayushmann Khurrana taking the lead. The actor is proud of the change in the industry and said, "I think it's great! Technology has played a disruptive role all across the world and I was waiting for it to happen in our industry. When I was making non-conformist films, they got a release because coincidently the multiplex boom was happening. That came to an end, as there could only be a finite number of cinema halls we could have. With the digital era, that space is now limitless! The change in audience tastes has also happened because the generation that is going to the cinemas now was too young to be consumers when I was pushing hard for change. They've grown up exposed to world cinema/shows from a very young age and that explains their rejection of the old guard of Bollywood lately, and their embrace of more relatable actors, characters, and stories." View this post on Instagram Basking in the light of the #wintersun. A post shared by Abhay Deol (@abhaydeol) on Dec 4, 2018 at 1:47am PST Abhay shocked everyone when he took on the who's who of Bollywood and slammed them for promoting racism through their fairness cream endorsements. Talking about endorsements, it has become a clear shot formula for actors to be in the scene, even if they don't really stand by the product. I asked Abhay if he thinks that the concept of celebs endorsing such products blindly, should completely disappear from the scene. "Yes, I think celebs should not endorse brands that go against their principles. For example, if celebs who endorse fairness creams actually believe that fairer is better than darker, then that's fine. The thing is if they actually believed that, then they should find themselves to be inferior to fairer people as they themselves are dark in real life. And no matter how fair you are, as an Indian, you will always be dark in the context of the world. Then there are brands that pollute not just the body but also the environment, like all colas. On one level, all products are destructive to a degree, some more than others and I tend to side with the ones that cause the least damage because, after all, endorsements have become integral to an actor's career. Even the media plays its part, as endorsements are (often) their only source of revenue. We need to call out all players, not just the celebs to be 'fair'." Abhay said loud and clear. Abhay has always been very transparent in his approach to everything that he strongly believes in. Has it ever happened that he was rejected because of his transparency? Turns out, "many times." Well, that's how it works for people who are very blunt and transparent. So, what's next for him, "My next release is 'Chopsticks' which is the first Netflix Original film out of India. It goes live on its platform on the 31st of May," said Abhay. Are you excited for this one? View this post on Instagram A stolen car sends a frantic Nirma to an Artist to take on a goat-loving gangster. Chopsticks premieres on 31 May, only on Netflix. @mipalkarofficial I LOVE your expression in this one ð! @netflix_in @viniyardfilms A post shared by Abhay Deol (@abhaydeol) on May 14, 2019 at 9:35pm PDT If you think Abhay's journey has been a bed of roses because of the Deol tag, then you are wrong. His journey has been turbulent and he has had his own set of struggles. But what's more important is that he actually learnt from the things that held him from growing even more. "Everyone goes through struggles, successes, and failures. It's part of life and I'm glad I've got to experience both, the highs and the lows. You cannot appreciate the highs unless you have gone through the lows. As I said, everyone goes through highs and lows but not everyone learns to appreciate both, as many people do not like the lows. This is why there's a whole industry selling you a pill for your 'depression' or 'sadness'. I am aware that I've to lead a privileged existence and I am grateful for it. I've done exactly what I've wanted to, lived my life authentically and there are not many people who can say that." View this post on Instagram From the multi-talented @sinbadphgura This was taken at home, with only the natural source of light and no hair and make up. Come to think of it, that's how he always shoots with me! A post shared by Abhay Deol (@abhaydeol) on Jun 15, 2018 at 7:08am PDT The Deol tag eventually got me asking him about Nepotism that became a huge deal a while back. For the uninitiated, Nepotism is 'the practice among those with power or influence of favouring relatives or friends, especially by giving them jobs'. I asked him if he relates to the word and does he think having relatives in the industry helps the person grow, or does one have to constantly prove their caliber? To which Abhay had a rather strong response, "It's both a privilege and a curse. If you look at the current crop of actors, 99% of them are from a film family, the 1% left over are proteges of those with influence. It's unfair to point to Bollywood alone and call out its nepotism. Don't you see it in politics and big business as well? Most people would not like to hear this, but nepotism is part of Indian culture. Where do you think cast, 'Jati' comes from? The son is born into a community and carries forward the work of his father while the women get married and become housewives. Most of the country still operates under this Brahmanical system, the very thing both Gautam Buddha and Mahavira rebelled against. So, if you want to criticize Bollywood for its nepotism, look at your own family and ask the question, 'am I willing to marry outside my cast?' or 'am I running my father's business?' or 'will I let my maid or driver sit at the dinner table with me and eat with me?' Because all of these questions, believe it or not, are linked to our unique brand of Nepotism." View this post on Instagram All natural look, by the ethereal @aetheria_ #thephotographerisfarprettierthanthemodel. A post shared by Abhay Deol (@abhaydeol) on Aug 10, 2018 at 11:32pm PDT Well, that's quite an honest and a strong take on Nepotism. Why only blame Bollywood if it starts from your own home?
  3. For all you Iron Man fans out there, we know how the ending of 'Avengers: Endgame' must have left you an emotional wreck. There were tears, heartbreak and a sense of sheer disbelief. I have been there, and yes, moving on has been difficult. But today, I will not venture into the movie and re-live the sadness. Instead, I have some great news that might just help you cope with the 'Endgame' shock. The buzz around town is that the man who brought Iron Man to life on-screen, Robert Downey Jr, has joined hands with the premium smartphone brand, OnePlus, to represent the latest flagship from the company - OnePlus7 Pro, that was launched last Tuesday, May 14. With the OnePlus 7 Pro, the brand finally breaks its traditional OnePlus look and opts for seamless glass curves, immersive 6.67-inch Fluid AMOLED display, a sleek and chic exterior, and three colours including Mirror Grey, Almond, and Nebula Blue. The camera, on the other hand, is a different ball game altogether. First of all, the pop-up front-facing camera is no gimmick. It is crafted to deliver spectacular selfies without getting in the way of your immersion. Additionally, the 48MP f/1.6 rear camera is equipped with 17 mm 117° ultra wide angle lens which is perfect for capturing sweeping landscapes with incredible clarity. And thanks to the 8MP f/2.4 telephoto lens with 3X optical zoom that lets you shoot high-quality, detailed images even at a distance. Apart from all that, the OnePlus 7 Pro features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 (octa-core, 2.84GHz) processor with Adreno 640 GPU, one of the best chips available on a phone currently. The device is supported with dual nano-SIM capability, a massive 4000mAh battery, and Warp Charge technology that can get your OnePlus 7 Pro up and running in just 20 minutes. How cool is that? And while all this is happening, the association with Robert Downey Jr is yet another milestone for OnePlus. "It's cool to see a young brand disrupting the tech landscape. I was challenged to help them create an authentic campaign based on the tenets of quality and craftsmanship, and it's already proving to be a great fit creatively," says Downey. As far as we are concerned, we think Downey is the perfect fit for the brand and is someone who is an embodiment of the 'Never Settle' spirit at OnePlus. Can't wait to see more from this exciting collaboration!
  4. The much awaited laugh riot of the year, 'De De Pyaar De', released today amidst much hype. The movie is a family entertainer which deals with the issue of a 50-year-old man falling in love with a 26-year-old woman and facing disapproval from his family and ex-wife. The movie stars Ajay Devgn in the lead role, with Tabu playing the role of his ex-wife and Rakul Preet playing his love interest. So far, the audience reactions have been pretty good and people are calling it a laugh riot. In all, #DeDePyaarDeð is a Complete Package offering a real take on relationships without being stupid or preachy. It has more dramatic plot than 20s movies. Was not a good watch. However @Rakulpreet was looking stunning throughout. #tabu steal the show with acting. #DeDePyaarDeReview — Sayantan Halder (@sayantanhalder) May 16, 2019 However, the movie does star Alok Nath who was a prime accused in the #metoo movement and that is questionable. Also, some viewers felt the movie was misogynistic or just created a certain kind of animosity towards women. #DeDePyaarDeReview An absolutely crappy and misogynistic film. Wheres the alt right's outrage over this film since tabu ties a rakhi to ajay and then sleeps with him. (Hindu customs anyone)? Or no outrage since ajays a modi supporter? — Kabir Dev (@kabirraga272) May 17, 2019 However, you can watch it for yourself and decide. Overall, the movie has received a lot of positive response so far.
  5. Mahendra Singh Dhoni is one of a kind cricketer of this generation. With the kind of strength, quickness and creativity he possesses, the Ranchi-born athlete has won the hearts of millions of fans throughout the world, yes, even his opponents. Let's take the example of this young cricketer, Riyan Parag, a Rajasthan Royals member who played a brilliant innings against Kolkata Knight Riders in a win to ruin Dinesh Karthik's explosive and unbeaten 97-run performance a couple of days ago. In what he considers to be the game of life, Parag had the honour of sharing the field with 'Captain Cool' himself when his RR locked horns against Dhoni's Chennai Super Kings on 11th April 2019. What's more is that after the 17-year-old was able to collate no more than 16 runs, he was dismissed with a caught behind with Mahi as the keeper. Cute!#RRvCSK ##IPL2019 pic.twitter.com/IrXAtEZsrs — Mohandas Menon (@mohanstatsman) April 13, 2019 Now, two weeks since the matchup, Indian commentary legend, Harsha Bhogle uploaded a tweet something extremely interesting about Dhoni and the Parag family: Someone on twitter (sorry there were lots of msgs and I can't trace the name) pointed out this interesting bit of trivia. #RR played #CSK on April 11 in Jaipur and Riyan Parag was caught by MS Dhoni for 16. — Harsha Bhogle (@bhogleharsha) April 26, 2019 Many years ago, in the 99-00 season of the Ranji Trophy (see the 2nd innings of Assam in this scorecard) https://t.co/R2CzlZvnwG An Assam opener, called Parag Das was stumped by a young keeper called MS Dhoni. Parag Das is Riyan Parag's father! And MSD is the constant! — Harsha Bhogle (@bhogleharsha) April 26, 2019 That's right, when former captain of the Indian cricket team, made his Ranji debut in the year 2000, he dismissed the opener of the Assam team. The name of the opener, Parag Das, the father of Riyan. Essentially, with multiple generations of a cricketing family have come and gone, the only thing constant is the brilliance of Mahendra Singh Dhoni. This is how the fans reacted: Dhoni's longevity and consistency. It's like starting off as a Management Trainee in an office and helping an officer with his PPT and then years later being a mentor to his son and teaching him how to make the perfect PPT. — Rohit (@rohit1709) April 27, 2019 That's we call Thala — naresh p (@nareshloss) April 26, 2019 Dhoni: Hunting through generations ð — S DEEPAK (@dpuktambi) April 26, 2019 The life cycle of cricket pic.twitter.com/5Aqu2LLYLw — Shanmuga sundaram (@shannsundar) April 26, 2019 Circle of cricketing life :) — ðEbrahim Rupawalað¿ (@eburupa52) April 26, 2019 DHONI is new CONSTANT in the cricket equation — sanjeev (@sanjeevagri) April 26, 2019 Evergreen dhoni...kahinor of indian cricket⤠— Mostak ahmed (@Mostaka23179006) April 26, 2019

You will do what you are told like you always do.” Initially, Khabib's manager responded to the Irishman calling him a “rapist”, while explaining that criticizing someone's wife and religion is taking things too far. From coming to the rescue of a financially struggling acid attack survivor to starting the initiative 'Bharat Ke Veer' along with the Government of India, Akshay Kumar is a hero in real life too, who has never backed down from going that extra mile for the society, and the bravehearts and their families. © Instagram Now, Akshay Kumar has donated Rs. 15 lakh to Sundari Devi, wife of Jeet Ram Gurjar. Gurjar was one of the CRPF jawans martyred in the Pulwama terror attack on 14th February. CRPF (Central Reserve Police Force) DIG Jagdish Narayan Meena revealed the news of his donation. Jeet Ram Gurjar hailed from a village in Bharatpur and was the sole earning member in his family. His younger brother, Vikram Singh, thanked Kumar for his gesture at a time when they needed it the most, as they are financially very weak. He further mentioned that his parents along with Gurjar's wife and two daughters were also dependent on him. Reportedly, the amount was transferred under 'Bharat Ke Veer'. In this initiative, one can help the families financially, by donating either using the app or the website bharatkeveer.gov.in. 10. With the tensions increasing between India and Pakistan, we are trying to find respite in the situation for our Armed Forces, who're either in captivity or battling the current scenario to give us peaceful nights. In the midst of these screaming tensions though, a newborn baby in Rajasthan's Nagaur region has been named 'Mirage', after the Mirage 2000 fighter jets, used by the Indian Air Force, in the 26th February's air strikes against Pakistan-based terror camps. © Twitter The baby has officially been christened 'Mirage Singh Rathore' and his father, SS Rathore hopes that his son joins the nations' security forces when he grows up, someday. “We named our child Mirage Rathore to commemorate the strike on Pakistan by the Mirage jets. We hope he will join the security forces when he grows up," He told a local news agency while in conversation with them. © Twitter The boy, obviously born on Tuesday when India went ahead with the air strikes, was named the same to commemorate a memorable day, according to his family. His uncle, who is in the Air Force said he received news of two good developments on Tuesday. One was India's attack on Pakistan territory and the other was the birth of his nephew. Well, this does lean on some solid shreds of patriotism and when Mirage does grow up, we're sure he's going to consider joining the security forces after he finds out the back-story to his name. Well, if you thought the name 'Stalin' was a bit too idealistically communist for little boys growing up in Kerala, then Mirage is definitely going to one-up them with this historic memory that reeks of patriotism. © Reuters In the wee hours of the 26th morning, 12 Mirage-2000 jets entered the Pakistan air space and dropped 1,000 kg laser-guided bombs on Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorist camp-site, in Balakot. The Mirage-2000, developed by a French company, Dassault Aviation is one of the deadliest aircrafts in existence and it was first commissioned in 1985. It was first recognised when it was used in the Kargil warfare in 1999, following which the Government placed additional orders for 10 more Mirage-2000 jets in 2004, making it a total of 50 jets. © Reuters We're sure it would be an honour for baby Mirage to grow up with a name like that, but without actually flying a Mirage-2000 jet into war, when he does decide to join the forces!

One year ago today, the nation mourned and woke up to the tragic news that Bollywood's legend and one of the most beautiful women this world had seen, Sridevi, left us after her untimely demise. 13. The trailer of the much-awaited comic caper of the year and the third movie from the 'Dhamaal' series, 'Total Dhamaal', is finally out and looks like it is going to be one of the highest grossing family entertainers of the year. The movie has possibly one of the biggest ensemble cast in recent times that includes Madhuri Dixit, Anil Kapoor, Ajay Devgn, Sanjay Mishra, Johnny Lever and the original cast including Arshad Warsi, Javed Jaffrey and Riteish Deshmukh. The storyline follows the previous plot of a group of people chasing a treasure and they've thrown some VFX effects in it which is quite passable if you ask us. © Fox Star Studios Overall, the trailer looks like it's probably one of the only clean, out and out, proper comedy movies which you can basically watch with your entire extended family in tow. The project is helmed by Indra Kumar who is well versed with the genre and it is interesting to have this movie from him since his last outing was the 'Masti' series which is an adult comedy franchise. The movie hits the theatres on 22nd February so make sure your plans are ready.
  14. Netflix is synonymous to binge-watching, and we've all done it. The company pushes the complete season of a show all at once so we don't have to wait for weekly episodes. Start watching a show, and after hours you'll end up completing the piece in one go. This trend has given rise to the infamous "Netflix and Chill" lifestyle that millennials are so fond of. 13-year-old Damir Carter from Delaware was doing the same. His mother asked him to go to bed early, but in defiance, he continued binge watching The Flash on Netflix. He was supposed to sleep by 9.30 PM, like every good kid, but his resistance ended up saving the family from a house fire. © WPVI At 1 AM he heard things breaking and thought it's just the house cat messing around with things. Soon, he noticed smoke coming from the hallway and discovered a huge fire in the house. He immediately started yelling and woke up his mother, thankfully the family and he made it out of the fire unhurt. “And then I saw smoke in my hallway, and then I saw the fire. When I saw that, I started yelling for my mom because she was asleep at the time,” Damir told WPVI. “If Netflix wasn't there, I probably would have gone to sleep.” © WPVI Authorities believe it was a power strip that had overheated and sparked the fire. This is not the first time the family has lost a home to a fire. Around four years ago, another blaze destroyed their old home, Borden said. The family has lost all its possessions in the fire and the mother said she was just happy she and her son were safe. On a light note, the mother said Carter won't be getting grounded this time for defying the bedtime rule. © MarketWatch “I don't know where we would have been if he listened and went to sleep,” Damir's mom said via a post on Facebook. “Our house is gone, but we are still standing.” While Netflix too is being credited for saving the family, things haven't been going well for the streaming site in the past few days. Since the release of Bird Box on the site, many have tried to imitate the fictional characters, endangering their lives. Netflix even had to issue a warning after video of a blindfolded person falling down a subway stairwell surfaced on Twitter.
  15. On one hand where people in some parts of the world are fighting each other in the name of religion, there are some who are setting great examples of communal harmony with their selfless deeds. For instance, this Muslim family in Pakistan that has been taking care of a church which is over a century old. For 100 years now, the custodianship of the St. Matthew's Church has been passed down from one generation to the other. YouTube/ BBC News Located in the picturesque Hazada District town of Nathia Galiyat in Pakistan, this church is currently being taken care of by Waheed Murad, the third generation caretaker in his family. Murad has been looking after the church for almost 17 years now. His grandfather and father looked after it for 35 and 45 years, repectively. In fact, Murad is proud of his work and says that he is the only person in his area who knows how to ring the church's bell. Murad's family has been looking after the church by themselves, because the governement didn't make any efforts since there are hardly any Christians in the area. Speaking to the local media, Murad said "We believe in all messengers of God and believe in all the holy books, hence we give the same respect to this church, as we give to our mosque." If only more people could think like Murad, the world will be a better place to live in.

  18. We finally laid our eyes on Bollywood's most favourite newly-weds last evening, when the couple posted their first wedding pictures on photo-sharing platform Instagram. As per a latest report by Bollywoodlife.com, the humongous rectangle solitaire set in platinum is supposedly worth somewhere between Rs. 1.3 - 2.7 crores! Deepika is now amongst the top women who sport some of the most expensive wedding rings. Now that is a HUGE amount of money, enough to fund the dream wedding of any middle-class bride!
  19. A student's life isn't a cakewalk, especially when you are 16 and trying to figure out life amidst exam stress, family pressure, teenage love and passion. While reading comedian Kautuk Srivastava's first book- Red Card, one can't help but relate to the protagonist and everything that surrounds him. It's all real and feels like being hit by a wave of nostalgia from the good, old days. Penguin India Rishabh Bala is a 10th grade student, who finds himself hopelessly in love when the exam pressure is at its peak. And to top that, he is juggling his passion for football along with extensive tutorials. Rishabh is extremely energetic, enthusiastic, distracted and romantic. However, he is not the only one who is going through a similar dilemma. I spoke to 5 students, who like Rishabh, are dealing with puberty, career, parents and an unconditional feeling they call love: 1. Arjun, 15 "My parents want me to pursue science albeit my passion lies in theatre. They don't get it and there is no way I can make them understand. I don't think I am cut out for a 9-to-5 corporate job, but my parents are more worried about a secured future. I wish I could tell them that theatre will pay my bills too, not immediately but eventually." 2. Nikesh, 15 "My girlfriend and I have been dating for quite some time. For the world, it's just another adolescence love that will fade away. Not for me! I think it's the real deal. Although, there is always a fear of long-distance. She wants to study abroad and I have to finish my education in India. Sometimes, I feel insecure but I don't want to stop her from pursuing her dreams. It's a depressing situation, honestly." 3. Nilanjali, 14 "I am hopelessly in love with my best friend's boyfriend. And I think he feels the same for me. I don't want to hurt my friend but I don't want to lose him. Either way, I am going to lose someone precious. I know I have to make my choice. I am afraid I'll land up making the wrong one." 4. Vibgyor, 16 "I am struggling to keep up with my grades and my performance in cricket matches. My parents, teachers and coaches have a lot of faith and expectations from me. But sometimes, it's a little frustrating. I am tired of impressing everyone around me and I wish I could run away from all of it. I think that would be easier than letting people down." 5. Rusha, 16 "My body is changing and I look different. Not in a good way though! When I see other teenage girls, I feel extremely conscious. I have been body-shamed and my confidence has been shattered more than once. I try to remain strong but sometimes I feel people should start talking about puberty openly. And it must start at home." Rishabh is no different from all the teenagers above. But will he be able to keep it together? Can he win a trophy for his beloved school's football team? Will he face his first heartbreak? Give Red Card a read and find out how Rishabh copes with all his woes, one day at a time. Buy the book here.
  20. Can you even imagine Bollywood without Shah Rukh Khan? The man is indeed an essential part of the industry and owns the hearts of millions. But have you ever wondered who gave King Khan the initial support he needed to become the man he is today? “Friday Night: Me u and my leather jacket...” Finally a chilly enough day to wear my jacket & yeah 60's kinda hairstyle. This is the most fashionable I can get...! A post shared by Shah Rukh Khan (@iamsrk) on May 18, 2018 at 2:08pm PDT We are familiar with the story of how he struggled initially in the industry, but there was someone who played an essential part in transforming him into the King of Bollywood, and we finally know who it is. SRK recently made an appearance on the final episode of Salman Khan's show 'Dus Ka Dum' and threw light on an unknown chapter from his life. Rani Mukherjee was also a part of the episode and the three stars walked down the memory lanes of their 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai' days, making us nostalgic as well. © Twitter Whenever SRK and Salman are together, you can't expect it to be anything less than a fun-filled episode. There is something about their dosti that makes us admire Karan-Arjun even more. However, SRK isn't close just to Salman, as he also shares a special bond with his family. In the episode, SRK dedicated his success and fame to Salman Khan's father Salim Khan. “The first time I came to Mumbai as a struggling actor, I had my meals at Salman's place where Salim Khan Ji supported me a lot. It is because of them I have become 'Shah Rukh Khan'. I have come on the show only because of Salman and I will go wherever he tells me to go.” IANS quoted him as saying. © Twitter A beautiful tale indeed! © RedChillies On the work front, SRK is gearing up for Anand L Rai's 'Zero', in which Salman has a cameo. We can't wait for the movie to release and see SRK in a never-seen-before avatar.
  21. Last week in an unfortunate accident, a mother and her young daughter lost their lives. It was a fiery, wrong-way car crash in San Diego that claimed the lives of three people - 43-year-old Aileen Pizarro, her 12-year-old daughter Aryana Pizarro, and the culprit, 18-year-old Trevor Heitmann, a popular YouTube personality known as 'McSkillet'. It was a horrifying car accident, and no one can even imagine what the family must be going through right now. It's a truly tragic incident and the family would do anything to do something special for them as a tribute. Turns out Aileen was a huge fan of Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson and it would be more than special if he knew about the accident and say a few kind words, it would make a big difference for the family. 22. Rakhi is just around the corner and the entire city seems to be abuzz with excitement. Every other household is busy prepping for the celebrations that are all set to unfold on the morning of 26th August. © Pixabay What's more, none of the stores have held back from putting up those flashy hoardings and posters to remind you that you gotta empty your pockets for the upcoming event, lest you might forget, right? As if, that's even an option we're left with, in 2018. But things weren't this way growing up, were they? Rakhi was an affirmation of the bond we shared as siblings and reconciliations after those painful fights. It was about turning a fresh page and starting over. © Pixabay It was also about letting go of the grudges and revenge plots we'd cooked up in our heads for the other, even if it was just for that day. Because some things between siblings never change, right? The hefty gifts and the rest of the trimmings we see today came in much later. So, what we're asking is, what changed? During the good ol' days of our childhood the ritual of tying a thread or rakhi around the brother's wrist symbolised a promise and no, it wasn't just limited to protecting your sister (trust me she's done with seeking a man's protection). It meant a lot more. It still means a lot more. © Pixabay Rakhi is as much about the unspoken vow that you make to stay by her side when the world turns its back on her, to have her back when she is fighting her battles and not fight it for her! It's about respect, respecting her as an individual with a mind of her own - whether it is by the way of accepting her decisions or even her indecisiveness. To treat her with dignity and love, one that you can apply to every other woman in your life. It is about counting on her to come to your rescue when things are not in your favour and it's also about asking her to share the load with you, whatever it may be. It is about mutual respect and the love you share, as it is about holding your tongue when you're too 'tempted' to catcall at women or have a good laugh at their expense in the company of your male friends because “yeh sab toh chalta hai”. © Pixabay It is about realising that no gifts in this entire world can compensate for all the times you thought of women as lesser beings, treated them as second-class citizens AND used be******d in the same breath. What Raksha Bandhan has come to now, is simply offering your wrist to the sister to tie her 'honour'...oops...rakhi onto it, gorging on the mithais, partaking of the feast in the company of the extended family and forgetting about the rest of the promises as soon as the day ends. © Wikimedia Commons This might not be your story but there's no denying that this is the reality for a lot of men in our country. Being a brother is not a responsibility you're meant to shoulder, it's a relationship you're meant to respect and cherish Yes, a lot of guys exist who will fight the whole world for their sister's happiness and will move heaven and earth to make sure they get to live their dreams. Truly they exist and we must be grateful for them. © Pixabay But what we must come to face is that, regardless of it all we have all come across men who can put the term 'brother' to shame and from what we can guess, most of them must be someone's brother, right? So, this Rakhi, we hope you'd take this aspect (and reality) of brotherhood with a pinch of salt and perhaps consider doing things a little differently, so that the Rakhi celebrations don't just end up being yet another 'family get-together day' on our calendars.
  23. Qatar's royal family has put its luxury jet up for sale and it could sell for as much much as £500,000,000 (that's 500 million). The Royal Family has a whole fleet of Business Jets often called as the Qatar Amiri fleet. There are almost a dozen planes, and one of them is the Boeing 747-8, the world's largest business jet. The Royal Family has two of these Boeing 747-8s and is now looking to sell one of them. To be more precise, the one up for sale has a registration code VQ-BSK and was delivered just recently in December 2012. The interior redesign was completed in December 2014, and the aircraft finally entered service in January 2015. © Controller The aircraft has logged just 436 flight hours along with 200 cycles and is equipped to transport 76 passengers in an extremely luxurious cabin. Onboard facilities include a large bedroom with a double bed, a living room, staterooms and meeting rooms, a bathroom and even its own special hospital. © Controller The Boeing 747-8i, also known as the 747 Dreamliner has a list price of US$ 370 million and is designed to carry more than 400 passengers in a three-class layout. Currently, airlines like Lufthansa and British Airways operate this aircraft and it is among the most popular aircrafts in the world, thanks to the legacy of 747 series. © Controller Right now it remains unclear as to why the Royal Family is open to selling this crown jewel, the other 747-8 in their fleet is a lot more subtle from the outside though. Keep in mind, even though there are numerous pictures available online about the interiors, there are still many features and additions on board the aircraft that are not meant for everyone's eyes. © Controller The Qatar Amiri Fleet also includes a three widebody Airbus A340s and two A330s. For more routine and short turnaround work, it has around eight narrow-body A320s as well as a single A310. Basically yes, the Royal Family has its own mini airline that is waiting round the clock for them. © Controller It's unclear who the new buyer will be, or whether there will be one in the first place. Business Jets are a huge liability, and the 747-8 burns fuel and requires maintenance like a monster. In fact, the American President is also going to get a new aircraft, often referred to as the "Air Force One", and its obviously going to be a heavily customized Boeing 747-8. If you're actually thinking of getting one, the Qatar Royal Family is also looking to sell its 40-year-old Boeing 747SP for a considerably lesser US$ 9.5 million. Source: The Guardian

  25. The Sikh community never fails in making us believe, that humanity will continue to exist in our hearts, as long as we have love and affection for our fellow beings. One such family in Hamilton is winning hearts across the world with their selfless act of serving the homeless in Hamilton, New Zealand every day. The family of three, Rajveer, Seerat Singh and Narinder Kaur make sure that every morning the homeless community in Hamilton gets food to survive the cold. © stuff.co.nz © stuff.co.nz The family migrated to Hamilton around 16 years ago and this is their way of preaching their religion, and also a gesture of giving back to the place, which is now their home. Every morning, they serve food, and basic amenities like toothpaste, feminine hygiene products and even basic clothing for people who are in dire need of them. © stuff.co.nz The family goes out of their way in caring for the people who return every day for food. They bought a man a new pair of shoes and waited for him to return so that they could give it to him. © stuff.co.nz The whole idea behind this beautiful service is very simple for this family. A few years ago, they were severely hurt in a car accident and the son and the father had to take a break from work. They believe that no one should go hungry in the cold weather. This is a stellar example of humanity and we all can contribute to making this world a better place.
