  1. Growing a long luscious beard is an asset that men have been sporting since ages now. For someone, who is lagging behind in this league, there are super easy ways to get the journey started. Beard growth is a task but when you follow a basic routine, it will be the easiest thing you will ever do. © iStock If you are wondering how to do that, take these four simple techniques and get a beard spa at home. This method helps stimulate your beard for faster growth. Check it out: 1. Coconut Oil As kids, our mom would constantly talk about the advantages of coconut oil. Be it your hair or your skin, it's a beneficial home remedy. The same way it helps your beard as well. It's an all-natural solution that treats myriad of hair issues. The dominant fatty acids penetrate deep in your hair and stimulate growth. All you need to do is heat up this oil and apply it gently on your beard. It will get absorbed into your skin, letting your facial hair get all the nourishment needed for faster growth. © iStock 2. Hot Steam Hot steam is one of the best things that you can do for your beard. It helps in opening the pores of your skin. Not just that, it also helps in eliminating blackheads. Place a hot water pot on a table and lean over it. Now, cover your head with a towel. Let your skin absorb all the steam. Continue this method for five minutes. Not only will this method help you feel fresh but will also stimulate beard growth. © iStock 3. Wash Your Face In Circular Motions Washing your face with a beard shampoo is not enough. There's a technique involved that enhances beard growth. Use wide circular motions and massage the sides of your face, right from the jawline to the corners. Do it in a circular motion as you continue moving towards your cheekbones. Following this, according to experts, encourages smooth and faster growth. © iStock 4. Try Homemade Beard-Stimulating Recipe Making this recipe is simple and you won't have to splurge on it since all the ingredients are straight from the kitchen. Make a thick paste with lime juice and cinnamon. Apply a thin layer of this solution on your beard and leave it on for a while. Rinse it off with a normal cleanser. © iStock Another method is to mix mustard leaves with amla oil. Follow the same method of applying it on your beard. Keep it on for 15 minutes and then wash it off. You can use both these methods every 2 to 3 days to stimulate beard growth. View the full article
  2. There are certain questions one should never ask, no matter how curious one is. And no one can understand it better than Zomato, when they recently asked their followers to come up with 'most creative' restaurant names. Recently, Zomato took to their social media to ask, "What is the most creative restaurant name you've ever come across?" and honestly, the responses they got make us feel like we've been living in a parallel universe all this while. Desi people really don't know how to disappoint anyone and this Twitter thread is proof of the same. And in case you're thinking, "they're like regular names with funny spelling mistakes", you're wrong. These restaurants put 'we' in the word 'weird'. From 'Ram Bharose', 'Second Wife' to 'Frying Nemo', these names are so bizarre that people even shared pictures as proof that they are not 'cooking' this up. 3. If you recently got a WiFi connection or have been facing issues with dropped Wi-Fi signals, it can be more frustrating than expected. It results in the inability to stream, cancelled downloads and failed voice calls. If you feel that your WiFi is being a bit slow or sluggish and wondering what you can do to improve the coverage or the speed, you can follow some of these steps to optimise your network: 1. Update Your WiFi's Firmware © ASUS Sometimes the most common problem has to do with pending software updates. Router companies update their routers' software just like phone companies update their phones. Sometimes routers also get new firmware for battery or security reasons. If you have one of the newer routers, the software can be updated right from the backend settings. However, if you own an old router, you may have to download the update manually and install it on your own. 2. Select The Right Frequency © TPLink It really depends on your needs and the placement of the router. Modern routers now come with two different bands. 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz frequencies serve entirely different purposes which also depends on where the router is being placed. For example, if speed is not your priority and portability matters more, make sure you stay connected to the 2.4GHz frequency. This band can cover a larger distance but at the cost of giving you slow speeds. On the other hand, if you want fast internet speeds, utilise the 5GHz band as it is capable of delivering incredible speeds depending on the router. Not only does 5GHz offer faster speeds, you'll likely encounter less interference from other wireless networks and devices. However, the 5Ghz frequency does not have enough range and you will be confined to an area. If you plan to stream movies and TV shows and need fast speeds wirelessly, we suggest you keep the router near the streaming device or move your streaming device nearer to the router. 3. WiFi Repeaters Are Obsolete © TPLink After considering all the options, a WiFi repeater is probably the worst solution to signal problems. We recommend you do not waste money on a repeater as it only re-broadcasts your router's signal. It is possible that you have a big house or thick walls due to which you do not get enough WiFi signal. The range extender works just like any other device with an IP address. You can do the same thing with your laptop or your phone if it supports WiFi passthrough. Instead, if you want to solve your signal range issues once and for all, we recommend you get a mesh WiFi network. You can set up another router, connect it via a very long ethernet cable and improve your situation. However, you will have to worry about concealing a really long ethernet cable, and tinkering with the DHCP and IP settings to make it work. 4. Change The Channel © MensXP Interference from other electronic devices is one of the major causes for slow speeds, weak signals and overall quality of the signal. Signals from your smartphones, smart TVs, Laptops, PCs, IoT devices or any other device that can communicate via WiFi is bound to interfere with your network. There is also interference from other appliances such as microwaves and traditional cordless phones. In order to combat this issue, you need to switch the channel where the wireless network is being broadcasted. From the settings of your router, you can change the channel according to the network type and congestion in various channels. You can track the signal congestion via numerous apps on your smartphone or on a Windows-powered PC. Just search for a WiFi Channel scanner app and you will be able to see the congestion visually. For a 2.4 GHz signal, we recommend you stick to channels 1, 6, and 11 since they're the only ones that don't overlap with other channels. The 5GHz frequency generally uses channels that are not commonly used. However, if you still prefer to change it, you can do so after checking the signal congestion around your router. 5. Install a Mesh Networking System © Unsplash/Andres Urena A mesh router system is the answer to every problem you may face at your home. Range extenders are a good temporary solution but you will still encounter dead zones and slow speeds. In order to have seamless connectivity at home, we recommend getting a mesh Wi-Fi system instead. There are plenty of options available right now, however they come at a premium price. Personally, I use Google's WiFi's Mesh system at home and it works flawlessly. Netgear, Linksys and other companies all have their WiFi mesh systems that can be installed in your home in minutes. Most mesh WiFi systems can be managed with a native application and you can even manage speeds for specific devices. I have a 1GBPS connection at home and from 20 feet away, I was able to get 500Mbps on my device while connected to my Google WiFi. I am able to stream 4K movies on Netflix in three separate rooms at the same time without facing any buffer period, thanks to this setup. If you want to know more about how Google's Mesh Wi-Fi system works, you can read more about it here. Mesh Wireless systems are capable of switching automatically from 2.4 GHz to 5GHz depending on your device's proximity to a satellite and it is also capable of automatically selecting channels that have the least interference. It is currently the best and complete solution for any WiFi issues you may face at home. View the full article
  4. Growing your beard can be a tricky business. But who doesn't like a good beard? However, growing a beard can be a little tough. So here are hacks that'll help you grow your beard faster. 1. Exfoliation Is Key © Getty Images It's important to keep your face fresh and exfoliate to weed out the dry skin cells. Dead skin cells hinder hair growth. 2. Taking Care Of Dietary Needs © Getty Images It's important to have a balanced diet and drink at least 8 glasses of water. Apart from that, the hair is mainly made of protein, so consuming more of protein-based foods. 3. Exercising Helps © Getty Images Trust us. Exercising regularly makes your body fit also encourages hair growth which means your beard is going to grow faster. 4. Don't Fret Too Much © Getty Images Your beard just like your hair will take its own time to grow. You'll have to be patient. Nothing takes place overnight. 5. Beard Oils Are Vital © Getty Images Regular beard oils or essential oils like amla and eucalyptus help stimulate the much-needed boost for hair growth. Additionally, the beard after using beard oil is softer. 6. Face Massages © Getty Images A face massage encourages blood flow throughout the face and helps your beard grow faster in no time.
  5. Long hair for men is a style statement that will always be 'in' - irrespective of whether celebrities are indulging in it or not. If you've had long hair, ever, you'd know what we're talking about. It feels amazing to have a head full of hair that's strong, long, and thick. You can leave it open, tie it in a man-bun, or try more unorthodox styles - the kinds that will always help you turn heads. But the problem is, it takes a long time for men to grow hair (or so we think). Keeping that in mind, we have compiled a list of 7 things to do everyday that will help you grow your hair much faster (and thicker too). 1. It might sound weird, but don't wash your hair every day. Most of us like washing our hair really frequently, because in a country like India where the climate makes us sweat bucketloads, that is just a natural urge. However, most of us also don't know that washing our hair very frequently strips hair off the natural oils, which is detrimental to hair growth, and also aids to hairfall. So, try not washing your hair every day with shampoo. Try washing it on alternate days (because cleanliness is important as well). © Getty Images 2. Pay more attention to conditioner, as compared to shampoo. If you wash your hair everyday, please make sure you don't use shampoo, but always use a conditioner post wash. That will keep dryness away, and also help you control hairfall, thereby aiding hair growth. © Getty Images 3. Eat a lot of protein. No matter what kind of grooming routine you follow, if you don't ingest the right nutrients, you will never be able to grow your hair at an optimal rate. A good breakfast with eggs and chicken can never be underestimated. Try protein rich veggies like broccoli if you're vegetarian. It will work amazingly well for your hair, and also your muscles. © Getty Images 4. Make sure you're getting all the vitamins and minerals. Meet a dietitian and figure out whether you need multivitamin supplements. Plus, most Indians are Vitamin B and D deficient, which is also responsible for less hair growth and also a bunch of other problems. Try taking fish oil supplements. © Getty Images 5. Start getting a champi done once a week. The power of a good ol' hair massage with warm coconut/almond/olive oil is immense, and it will do wonders for your hair growth, and overall scalp condition. © Getty Images 6. This may sound ridiculous, but shift to silk/satin pillowcases. When we're growing our hair, pillow fabrics with harsh materials can result in a lot of hairfall and tangling. Using a silk/satin pillowcase can sort that out for you. © Getty Images 7. Know when to comb your hair. Never comb when your hair is dripping wet, because that's the time your hair is at its most vulnerable state. If you have curly hair or ringlets, try combing it as less as possible, because it messes up the natural texture and flow of the hair (do head massages to take care of the blood circulation that usually happens because of combing). If you have straight or wavy hair, comb with a wide toothed brush for best results minus the breakage. © Getty Images Try these and see your mane grow bigger and bigger within a short span of time!
  6. Sprinting is a powerful and fundamental movement. It allowed our ancestors to escape from predators and hunt when required. Beyond that sprinting is an amazing exercise for building more muscle, improving your heart health and stamina. In order to sprint better, people use various apps and follow different running programs such as interval training or the useless long-distance running. Some also spend a lot of money on fancy running shoes thinking that they will help us prevent joint injuries and sprint better. Although the above tools can be useful, we often divulge from fixing the basics for long-term progress and focus more on the quick fixes Often when we sprint, our patterns are suboptimal which is a major contributor to slow pace and injuries. Our GAIT or human locomotion patterns are altered depending on a wide variety of reasons such as weight transition, previous injuries, mobility issues and posture deformities. © Pixabay In order to fix the above GAIT cycle, we need to assess the same using manual methods (most feasible) which can be easily done at your nearest physiotherapist. Once we have assessed our GAIT and have got recurring issues fixed by a physiotherapist, we now need to analyze our running pattern for which you will have to record a video of yourself from the side. Check for below points after recording the video from the lateral or the side view: Foot contact: Foot contact should be at the forefoot to midfoot which will change depending on your running speed Torso lean: Torso should be leaning slightly forward with eyes gazing around the horizon Hand position: Hand should be placed at the side flexed at 90 degrees and should move in coordination with the opposite leg. Think of your arms moving in a pendulum fashion. Left, Right, Left is a useful clue. Hip extension: Hip extension strength has a direct correlation with running speed and helps you propel forward. Exercises like deadlifts are very useful to create powerful hip extensions. © Pixabay Use cues such as lean forward, push the ground, swing the arms Left, Right, Left to correct the errors you see in your running pattern. Once you have optimized your running form, you will need to focus on strengthening the muscles involved in sprinting. Mistake Of Following A Generic Strength Program Running requires you to increase both concentric and eccentric strength. Below are things you need to keep in mind when designing a strength and conditioning program Eccentrically Strong Muscles: Hamstring and quadriceps. Heavy assisted leg press with slow eccentrics, single-leg leg extensions. Concentrically Strong Muscles: Glutes and hip flexor muscle group mainly psoas major and rectus femoris. Romanian Deadlifts & Hip-Thrusts Perform some strength training with high velocity as well. High-velocity movements will increase stride frequency and thus reduce ground contact time to give better running speed. Exercises which target different muscle lengths such as hip thrust and quarter squats can be incorporated as strength gain is joint angle specific as well. A full body program thrice a week will suffice the majority of the requirements with running being in the morning and strength and conditioning in the evening time. Your program will have to be periodized especially if you are a competing runner/sprinter. Summarizing everything we talked above: Step 1: Fix your current injuries and get your GAIT checked under a specialist Step 2: Record your running form from the lateral(side) view and fix visible errors and send them to running experts Step 3: Assess your current levels of strength, power and design a strength & conditioning program or get an expert to do the same for you Step 4: Periodize your entire running plan to minimize injuries and maximize your performance at any given timeframe That's it, folks! Even though above is a complex topic and requires super detailed reasoning and planning, I tried my best to explain it briefly. And if you apply even 50% of this, it will make a significant impact on your running performance. Feel free to drop a comment below or mail me for further queries or doubts. 7. Protein supplements are one of the supplements that have enough credible data supporting its benefits and safety when it comes to muscle building properties. It is one of the supplements that make my list of the 'only' supplements you will ever need. You can read that piece here. Now though protein supplements are beneficial, there is still a lot of confusion among people as they are flooded with different types of protein choices when they go to buy it from a store or online. As per the data present currently, the protein derived from milk, especially Whey and Casein protein have proven to be more beneficial compared to other plant and animal sources of protein supplements. © Thinkkstock That is because, in comparison to other protein sources, whey and casein have higher essential amino acids and thus promote more muscle protein synthesis. Let's compare Whey and Casein and decide which protein is better for muscle growth. A few properties of Whey: 1. A faster-digesting form of protein. 2. Rapidly increases muscle protein synthesis for a short period. 3. Slightly higher leucine content. A few properties of Casein: 1. A slower-digesting form of protein. 2. Slowly increases muscle protein synthesis for a relatively long period of time. Let's ask an important question first. Do you really need protein shakes? The short answer to that would be a resounding no. A relatively context based answer to the question would be the classic 'it depends.' Taking a protein supplement has certain benefits: 1. It does not need much preparation. 2. It is easier to consume on the go. 3. It can be conveniently carried with you. 4. It is a smart addition to a protein-deficient nutrition regime. If your goal is maximal muscle gain or maximal muscle retention while losing fat, research suggests that protein intakes between 1.6 grams to 2.2 grams per kilogram of body weight are beneficial. To finetune this further, the protein should be spread in 4-5 meals for the day. If you can get this protein by food sources alone, there is no need to consume protein shakes. But if you fail to do so, they can be a great addition. As whey protein is a faster-digesting source of protein, it can be a great source of protein as soon as you wake up or after your workout considering you have not had a protein meal a few hours or just before your workout. © Thinkkstock It will rapidly spike muscle protein synthesis and that in-turn will benefit you with either muscle gain or retention based on your overall nutrition and body composition goals. On the other hand, casein, being a slower-digesting protein can be a great addition before bed. As it is a sustained release protein, it will ensure that your muscle protein synthesis stays elevated for hours into sleep. Whey has anabolic properties aka it helps with muscle building whereas Casein has anti-catabolic properties aka it helps with muscle preservation. Both these supplements can be an addition to your routine and none of them are mandatory supplements to consume. You can do just well without them. 8. Last year, Apple completely redesigned its flagship phone with the iPhone X and this year, the company double downed on the design. Apple introduced three new phones with the same design ethos but one has the largest screen on an iPhone ever. The new smartphones are powered by Apple's A12 Bionic Chipset and have better photography than ever before. All of which come with a premium price tag that may not sit well with everyone. We got the iPhone XS and XS Max to review and here's what we think about Apple's latest offerings: Design Language © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla When Apple unveiled the iPhone X, every smartphone company simply copied the design and started offering it on every smartphone. Apple has continued to implement the same design on the iPhone XS and XS Max. The larger smartphone carries more weight and offers a distinct took as the design has more or less remained unchanged. Apple did, however, introduce a new Gold colour that isn't jarring and easy on the eye. I'm not a big fan of Gold smartphones, but Apple outdid themselves this time and made the Gold version look sexy. Apart from the aesthetics, there are a few upgrades that are a first on an iPhone. The iPhone XS and XS Max are now IP68 water and dust resistant. It can stay submerged under water up to two meters in depth for a period of 30 minutes. It can also withstand accidental spills such as coffee, beer and other harmful liquids. The iPhone XS and XS Max also have extremely good stereo speakers. Its crisper, louder and can also pan sound from left to right effectively. You can notice the difference in sound when you watch an HDR video as we did during our briefing session. It's needless to say that you would be better off to purchase a smartphone case to protect your smartphone. Even though Apple is using a tougher Gorilla Glass, it is still prone to micro scratches that you may want to avoid. Display © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla This year the iPhone comes in two sizes i.e. with a 5.8-inch display while the XS Max sports a 6.5-inch display. If you are a fan of a smaller form factor like the classic iPhones, the XS will be the perfect smartphone for you. Having said that, we prefer the iPhone XS Max thanks to its massive screen and better viewing experience. Earlier, users would opt for the bigger iPhone because of the dual camera setup, however, the iPhone XS Max offers the same specifications as the iPhone XS apart from a larger battery. The 6.5-inch display on the iPhone XS is noticeably larger and can sometimes be difficult to access the control centre and notification panel from the top. However, the display itself is extremely vivid and bright which makes viewing videos and playing games an absolute delight. In fact, the iPhone XS Max even beat the Galaxy Note 9's screen in almost every parameter. The screen has HDR10 support and Dolby Vision which makes it even more worthy of an investment. The iPhone XS Max is almost the same size as the iPhone 8 Plus but offers more real estate on the screen thanks to the notch design. Apart from having a larger screen, the iPhone XS Max also offers some software tweaks to make it a more fluid experience. The new UI features make it easier for users to see more on the screen when you switch to landscape mode. It is quite reminiscent of the iPad iOS version, as once you switch the orientation, you can see more details in apps like Calendar, Safari and Mail. It's not all rosy though, as some caveats were noticed in the larger iPhone. For example, even though there is more screen space, you can only arrange the same number of apps on the home screen as the iPhone X/XS. Apple could have also shown the actual battery percentage on the top right corner due to the fact we have more room. Other issues involve with apps not being optimised for the larger iPhone XS Max. There aren't many apps that have an issue with the new resolution, however, there are some that need more fine-tuning. Performance The iPhone XS and XS Max are both powered by Apple's proprietary A12 Bionic chip clocked at 2.5 GHz. It has a noticeable performance upgrade from its predecessors and has double the improvement in the GPU. Both smartphones load up apps faster than before and are also faster when it comes to multitasking. You can swipe between apps without any glitches and performs better than the A11 Chip on the iPhone X. © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla Talking about Face ID, the iPhone XS and XS Max work the same way when setting up as the iPhone X. It scans your entire face and head so that it can accurately track every inch of your face. FaceID is now faster and more accurate than the iPhone X as we don't have to adjust our face any more. It unlocks fast even in low-low-light conditions which are a great feat, considering you don't have a fingerprint sensor anymore. Face ID also assists when you switch phones from an older iPhone. If you've stored your passwords in the iCloud password keychain, you will be able to login to each and every app without even typing your details. It has made switching to the new iPhone a breeze and is probably one of the most underrated features you will come across. © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla Coming to the processor's performance, the iPhone XS Max and XS more or less performed the same. During the course of our review, the iPhone XS Max and XS scored an impressive 4817 in the single-core test while it scored 11453 on the multi-core test on Geekbench 4. That's faster than the current fastest Android smartphone i.e. OnePlus 6. What's impressive is that iPhone XS/XS Max was able to achieve this score with half the RAM. This proves that it's not only about the specifications but also about how the software is fine-tuned with the goods under the hood. The A12 bionic chips' neural engine is where it all makes the difference, the new chipset can conduct 5 trillion operations per second, while its predecessor could only do 600 billion per second. Battery Life When it comes to battery life, iPhones generally tend to have smaller batteries when you compare it its competition. That's because it doesn't need a bigger battery thanks to the operating system and the efficiency of the A12 Bionic chip. The iPhone XS has a 2658 mAh battery while the XS Max has 3174 mAh battery. Both support fast charging, however, you will need to buy it separately. It is essential in 2018 as both smartphones take a considerable time to get fully charged. Both iPhones do have smaller batteries compared to the last generation but they do last longer than the previous iPhones, at least by 40 minutes. The smartphones would last up to 16 hours on a full charge where it involved us using the smartphone for heavy messaging, navigation, photography and gaming. The XS and XS Max both support Qi wireless charging so you can use any QI certified wireless charger to juice up your phone. Camera Performance © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla The iPhone XS and XS Max have an identical vertical dual camera setup as the iPhone X but Apple has made some upgrades inside. The primary 12-MP sensor is larger i.e. 1.4-micron pixels to be specific, while the secondary 12-MP telephoto sensor remains the same. The fact that the sensor on the primary lens is bigger, it can let in more light when capturing images. This results in better and clearer low light images. Apple also introduces Smart HDR which is available exclusively on the new iPhones. This feature basically takes multiple shots and combines both underexposed and overexposed images to give you the best result. This is all possible because of the new A12 Bionic chip. The feature is enabled by default in the camera app which you can turn off if you want to take pictures manually. Portrait mode has also improved as it is capable of taking better bokeh sots. This time, however, you can also adjust the degree of the blur after you've taken a portrait image. It's not the first time we've seen this, as Samsung offered this feature on the Galaxy S8 last year. What's cool with Apple's Portrait mode is that you can change the blur from f/4.5 lens all the way to f/1.4 Here are a few samples of the images we took with the iPhone XS and XS Max in both low light and well lit scenarios: View this post on Instagram Shots using the #iPhoneXSMax and #iPhoneXS A post shared by Akshay Bhalla (@editorinchief) on Oct 1, 2018 at 1:18am PDT The Final Say © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla Apple's new smartphones feel, look and perform great. The company has delivered a flagship phone that actually delivers what it promises. We would have liked to see a longer lasting battery and an actual bundled fast charger. The screen on both XS and XS Max are amongst the best and are coupled with outstanding stereo speakers. Having said that, the iPhone XS and XS Max do have a hefty price tag in India that may not be in everybody's reach. However, if you are looking for a worthy investment, we feel you should invest in the iPhone XS Max.
  9. So it is your friend's wedding and of course you want to present a gift that he will remember for years to come and perhaps even tell his grandchildren about. We have all been through similar situations ourselves, when we have picked our brains for the longest time to come up with 'hatke' gift ideas for a friend's wedding. © maxpixel The same thought seems to have struck a bunch of groom's friends in Tamil Nadu and they came up with the most epic idea for what to gift their friend. In the Cuddalore district of Tamil Nadu a young man and his newly wed wife were greeting guests when the groom's friends came in bearing a gift of a lifetime for their dear friend - a can full of five litres of petrol. Why, you ask? Read on to find out. © Twitter Petrol prices in the state of Tamil Nadu have touched Rs 85.15 per litre and this transformed the fuel into a valuable commodity, worthy of being presented as wedding gift, the friends claimed. The incident was first reported by the Tamil TV channel called, 'Puthiya Thalaimurai' through a 39-second video clip, and has since made it to the top news of the day. © Maxpixel Right when “No Gifts Please” is slowly picking up pace in the Indian wedding scene, this unexpected yet useful wedding gift is something that even the groom couldn't have said no to. We feel that is such a thoughtful (and different nonetheless) gift to present someone, especially when the fuel prices in Tamil Nadu happen to be one of the highest in the country. We reckon this gift would have surely won a few hearts and a ton of laughter at the wedding!
  10. The process of digestion is important, as this is where the breaking down of food into nutrients happen, which then the body uses for energy, growth, and cell repair. Food and drink that we consume pre or post workout must be changed into smaller molecules of nutrients before the blood can absorb them and carry them to the various cells throughout the body. The three storage places are muscle glycogen, liver glycogen and fat cells. The body breaks down these nutrients that we consume into macro nutrients such as carbohydrates, protein, fats, and micro nutrients such as vitamins and minerals. © Thinkstock Digestion And Weight Loss Not many people are aware but the impact of digestion on weight loss is significant. Digestion is the process of breaking down food so that the body can use it for energy for various activities throughout the day, apart from giving you the energy to lift those heavy weights. Without proper digestion, the body would find it difficult to absorb the nutrients it needs for health functioning for your whole body. Improper digestion will keep you constantly hungry, storing fuel in the form of adipose tissue (fat) instead of using it immediately for its required purposes. How To Improve The Process Of Digestion For Fat Loss? More Fiber If you have a healthy digestive system, this will ensure your weight-loss plan will be successful. One way to improve your digestion to accelerate fat loss would be to make sure to consume enough fibre and fluids. Increasing your physical activity in any way will contribute to the calorie expenditure. Remember, any physical activity done for the body will burn calories. Even digestion burns calories; although you cannot compare it to the calorie burn from physical activity, doing anything healthy to ensure calorie expenditure would be great. Thermogenic effects of food needs to be taken into consideration, foods that take longer to break down will help with the calorie expenditure. © Thinkstock What Fiber Does Fibrous food has a higher Thermogenic effect, which means it takes time to digest. It challenges your digestive enzymes. Since it is not broken down completely but stays intact partially it passes through your digestive tract. As it travels, it forms a gel and absorbs some excess fat, cholesterol and sugar, which is passed through your stool. Foods such as vegetables, fruits, whole grains, nuts, seed, beans and legumes provide fibre. Also vegetables such as greens, tomatoes, broccoli and eggplant are good low-calorie options for weight loss. High-fibre foods are more nutritious than their low-fibre alternatives; whole grains offer more nutrients than refined white grains. High-fibre foods contain more vitamins and minerals important for your metabolism. Fluids Fluid consumption is important for weight loss and proper digestion because you need fluids for a lot of body functions. In terms of convenience, moving food through your digestive tract and clearing out the waste from your body. Drinking insufficient water will cause dehydration and dehydration can cause constipation, which can lead to weight gain from bloating. You need to drink at least 1 glass of water every 1 hour. Not many people know this but thirst is already an indication that the body is dehydrated. Drinking less water will also cause problems such as fatigue. Consulting with your sports nutritionist about your fluid needs, especially if you tend to retain water under the skin is very important. How much water one needs to drink is a question and will depend on many factors, including current health status, weight and activity level, weather and geographical locations. Conclusion The process of human excreting is very simple if enough fiber and fluids are present in the body. If they aren't, problems like bloating, constipation and irritable bowel syndrome show up. This can and will in longer runs mess with your fat loss or muscle building goals. Helius is one of Mumbai's most promising fitness professionals and part time kettle bell lecturer. 11. It's no secret Apple's A-series processors are insanely fast and are one of the core reasons for iPhone's success. The iPhone X is powered by Apple's A11 chipset and is able to churn out exceptional performance, both, practically as well as on benchmarks. The soon to come iPhones will surely be powered by Apple's 'A12' processor, carrying on the naming conventions from A10 Fusion or A11 Bionic. The A11 chipset was a big leap in terms of CPU architecture, and the A12 seeks to refine it with a 7nanometer design and further performance and power consumption improvements. © Apple The A11 Bionic found in the iPhone 8, 8 Plus, and X is produced using TSMC's 10nm manufacturing process on the other hand. Promising increased performance and decreased power consumption, TSMC says its 7nm process is said to make the A12 chip 20 percent faster than last year's A11 chip and 40 percent more energy-efficient. TSMC is the Taiwanese company that is exclusively responsible for manufacturing Apple's A12 chipset this year. © Apple Apple added a special Neural Engine in the A11, hence the name 'Bionic', we expect Apple to continue refining this further as AI and ML are at the center of the industry right now. It is used for features like Face ID and even the upcoming Kirin 970 contains a dedicated Neural Processing Unit (NPU) that can perform tasks like image recognition 20 times faster than a CPU. © AndroidAuthority The A11 Bionic processor has already proven that is exceptionally faster than the competing Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset, and with the A12 things will get even more interesting. On paper, Apple uses the same ARM 64-bit architecture that Qualcomm, Samsung, and Huawei use, but Apple has a special license with ARM that lets it design its own chipsets. Apple also has the liberty to design the processor exactly the way it wants to, adjustments in cost can be balanced as everything about the iPhone is built in-house. In fact, one reason why the A11 is faster than the Snapdragon 845 is that Apple uses bigger silicon chipsets that are almost twice the size of the competing chipsets. Source: MacWorld
  12. The Android vs iOS battle has been raging on for almost a decade now, and it's surely not going to end anytime soon. Every year, fans and users face a common dilemma, either get the latest iPhone running iOS or the latest Android from an OEM like Google and Samsung. While camera, design, processor, display, and unique features are the primary way of comparing these devices, one aspect that is hardly compared is the phone's modem speed. According to a new report from Ookla, the company behind the widely used SpeedTest.net service, you'd be surprised to know that integrated modems in phones also make a lot of difference. Who doesn't want a faster internet connection? Mobile phones have now become the number one tool to access the internet, everything is on the go. © Pexels Ookla has compiled data based on hundreds of thousands of user tests run on the iPhone 8, 8 Plus and X along with the S9 and Pixel 2. Th data shows that the S9 has an average download speed of 38.9 Mbps, Google Pixel 2 has an average speed of 34.4 Mbps while the iPhone X has an average of 29.7 Mbps. Even the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus fare lower than their Android counterparts at 29.4 Mbps and 28.6 Mbps, respectively. © Qualcomm The data further indicated that the iPhone X operated fastest on Verizon's network (USA) with an average of 31.5 Mbps while Sprint (USA) was the slowest at 25.1 Mbps. On the other hand, though, the Huawei Mate 10 Pro recorded the slowest speed with an average of 22 Mbps. The iPhone X sports an Intel XMM 7480 modem while its Android counterparts running on Snapdragon 845 SoC have Qualcomm's X20 modem. Ookla also found that Qualcomm's chipset had 53 percent faster download speeds than the phones running Intel's XMM 7480. © Tom's Hardware Apple uses a mix of components manufactured by both Qualcomm and Intel. The iPhone X sold via Verizon, Sprint and contract-free have Qualcomm's chipset, while the ones sold via AT&T and T-Mobile have Intel chipsets. While the two have differing performances, Apple's uses software to throttle the Qualcomm ones, so that both the variants perform uniformly. Recently, Samsung started rolling out Ads that take a hit on Apple and data speeds are one of the points being raised in the S9 vs iPhone X comparison. Source: Ookla / Bloomberg

  16. Wondering how to grow a beard faster? Should you be using a beard oil or other beard products for beard growth or not? Are there too many suggestions everywhere and you don't know which advice to follow and which one to ignore? Don't worry! Here we have a list of some easy tricks to follow to get that badass beard you have always wanted. 1. Patience © Twitter Lack of patience can be a complete beard-killer. During the first few weeks, your beard growth is uneven and it starts to get dry and itchy. But do not worry, this happens with everyone. Also, avoid taking any rash decisions such as shaving your beard, let it grow freely for at least 3-4 months. It will bear fruit. 2. Never use hair products on beard © Twitter For all of you who are thinking of using a coconut oil on your facial hair for beard growth, please think twice before going for it. This is because your facial skin is very delicate when compared to your hair scalp, and the thick coconut oil clogs the pores of your skin. All it does is leads to acne instead of helping in beard growth. 3. Beard Growth Supplements © Twitter Taking medicines or tablets for beard growth without a doctor's suggestion, is a complete no no! It is unsafe and can harm your body or your hormones. On the contrary, a safe solution for faster facial hair growth is Ustraa's Beard Growth oil (https://www.happilyunmarried.com/ustraa/beard/beard-growth-oil.html)). This oil is free from harmful chemicals such as sulphates and parabens, and has Redensyl, which has been scientifically proven to strengthen hair follicles, thereby helping in beard growth. 4. Beard Care © Twitter The most important thing to keep in mind is that a well-groomed beard is the one that grows faster. Include beard products like Ustraa's beard wash, beard softener, and mooch and beard oil in your daily routine, which not only provide daily nourishment but also help prevent split ends and itchiness. 5.Healthy Diet © Twitter The building blocks for your facial hair lie inside your body. You need to get the right supply of proteins and vitamins in your daily diet, for a healthy beard. This will not only benefit your body massively, but will also help in natural beard growth. Include nutrition in your diet that ultimately help in the production of testosterone in your body. A high protein diet, green vegetables, and fruits should be a must when it comes to that.
  17. Diljit Dosanjh is going all out for 'Soorma' promotions, and for good reason. Apart from a super intense performance as a hockey player who redeems himself through sheer grit, what is also under spotlight is Diljit's fashion choices. He has started opting for the ultimate hypebeast pieces, and is becoming Bollywood's most seasoned street style enthusiast. His latest appearance proved that again, where he met the legendary Madhuri Dixit wearing an expensive AF bag. © Instagram Diljit wore the 'Gucci Print leather belt bag', which has the logo of Gucci printed on hibiscus red leather, inspired by colourful retro prints from the '80s. The bag is designed to be worn on one's waist, like a fannypack with an adjustable nylon strap with plastic buckle closure, but Diljit being Diljit, chose to wear it across his chest like a statement fashion accessory. That does do justice to it TBH. © Twitter Now, let's focus on how much it costs. This bag costs $1,290, or close to INR 90,000/-. We are hyperventilating as well, yes. © Instagram This clearly is one of Diljit's favourite accessories, as he has been spotted wearing it quite often. And why won't he? If we had it, we'd be wearing it all the time too!
  18. There are a lot of rumours and reports going on around the upcoming iPhones. While we have seen a plethora of them suggesting the design, configuration, and camera, this new report states that Apple will change the charging cable. Apple is expected to release several new iPhone models at its September event later this year, and it has been rumoured that they could come bundled with a new charger. The leaked charger suggests that Apple is finally switching to USB-C. © Chongdiantou Photos have emerged of what appears to be an Apple adapter (the square brick that we plug into the charging outlet) that has a USB-C connection. USB-C is the same port that has now become default on board the Macbooks as well and can transfer far more power and data than a conventional cable. One thing remains unclear though, as we still don't know whether Apple is planning to remove the lightning port from the iPhone as well as replacing it with USB-C at both ends. A USB-C cable would allow the next-generation iPhones to charge far more quickly than the current models, as many Android devices have been able to do for the last few years. © Chongdiantou The leaked adapter has 18W of output, meaning it supports fast charging. Compared to the current 5W charger, the new design is an oval shape with the same style of super-ellipse rounded corners, that has been a part of Apple's hardware and software design. Keep in mind there is also a possibility this may be a third party charger and not Apple's default selection for the next generation iPhones. As far as chargers are concerned, Apple has been going through a rough patch since the launch of the iPhone X and iPhone 8. Apple had shown off its AirPower wireless charging pad at the launch and was supposed to release it in 2018, but it got massively delayed. © Chongdiantou Apple included fast charging in the iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X but didn't ship the supporting adapter along with them. Hence owners had to buy up third-party adapters or rely on Apple's US$ 50 adapter that had a 30W rating. When the proper accessories are used, the phone can be charged from 0 percent to 50 percent in under half an hour. Source: Chongdiantou
  19. Apple currently has 1.3 billion users all over the world which include older iPhones that get regular updates from the Cupertino Giant. Last night at WWDC, Apple unveiled that every iPhone that ran iOS 11 will be getting the iOS 12 update and will increase the efficiency of older iPhones. © Pexels The latest version of the operating system will make older devices like the iPhone 6 work better and faster than ever before. The new operating system will be available on the iPhone and iPad and simple tasks such as opening apps will be twice as fast on iOS 12. The new operating system will work on products that date back to 2013 which is a great feat given Android smartphones are unable to achieve this feat. © Apple Apple software chief Craig Federighi said that apps will launch 40 percent faster with iOS 12 and will also affect the camera and keyboard display. For Apple, customer satisfaction is the highest priority and the same can be said about users with older devices. "For iOS 12, we are doubling down on performance," said Federighi. Apple's commitment to support older devices is a great business move as it would prove to be a good investment for users even years later after their purchase. Even though supporting older devices is time-consuming, expensive and tedious, Apple cares about their users who spend a lot of money on their products. © Apple iOS 12 will be bringing minor improvements to devise and will include new features such as Siri Shortcuts, ARkit 2, group FaceTime, Measure app and screen time tracking. The new update will be supported by devices such as the iPhone 5S, iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 6S, iPhone 6S Plus, iPhone SE, iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X; iPad Air, Air 2 and 5th-gen iPad; iPad Mini 2, 3, and 4, and all iPad Pro models.
  20. Beards are awesome. It can do more for your *** life than you give it credit for. Also, what's not to like in a thick, mean stubble that makes you look mature and intimidating? Here, we have listed out 5 things that you should do everyday to make your beard grow faster. 1. Face Massages To stimulate hair growth, your facial skin needs good blood circulation. Face massages will make sure that happens. © Twitter 2. Eat More Protein Hair growth requires enough protein in diet. Start including meat, fish, eggs, and milk in your diet, along with greens. © Twitter 3. Massaging beard With Eucalyptus & Amla Oil Massage your beard and facial skin with oils that have Eucalyptus and Amla extracts. Alternatively, you can use moisturizers with the same. © Twitter 4. Leave Your Beard Alone An underrated yet super important step, this is overlooked all the time. Just leave your beard alone and don't do anything to it. Give it time, and avoid grooming or trimming it too often. Patience will bear fruit, trust us. © Twitter 5. Start Exercising Healthy growth of hair is directly related to your health. If your body is not in shape, don't expect a flawless beard. Start exercising, and it will give you more than just an awesome beard. © Twitter 6. Try it, and see you beard grow much faster. © Twitter 7. Keep Your Face Clean & Exfoliate Exfoliate your face at least once a week with a mild scrub, and make sure your skin stays clean. Dry skin and accumulated debris hamper beard growth. © Twitter
  21. The OnePlus 6 has finally been in our hands ever since it was announced and the smartphone is definitely faster than any Android phone we've ever used. In fact, its first real-life speed test revealed it was faster than the iPhone X and the Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus. We all know OnePlus loves delivering a smartphone that is blazingly fast and in order to do that, the Chinese company coupled the Snapdragon 845 processor with 8GB of RAM. The Galaxy Note 9 is the next flagship device Samsung will be announcing soon and it was spotted on Geekbench recently. © BCCL The device that was tested houses Samsung's Exynos chipset, the same variant that will launch in India. The Galaxy Note 9 is expected to have 6GB of RAM and regardless of the configuration, it looks like the Note 9 will be faster than the OnePlus 6. A benchmark test for the upcoming device with an Exynos chipset was discovered online that pertains results beating the OnePlus 6. Just like other Samsung devices, the Note 9 will be available in two variants i.e. powered by Exynos 9810 or Qualcomm Snapdragon 845. © MensXP The Exynos variant scored 2737 and 9064 in single- and multi-core tests whereas the Snapdragon 845 variant scored 2411 and 8712 in the same tests. We can see that the Exynos version of the device performs better than Snapdragon's top of the line chipset. The results were first spotted by MobielKopen and you can have a look at the result for yourself here. © MensXP If you're wondering how the OnePlus 6 performed in the same test, it scored 2474 and 9082 in Geekbench respectively. The OnePlus 6 appears to be faster than the Snapdragon Note 9 model but loses out by a very small margin by the Exynos variant. We can expect the two devices to be two of the fastest Android devices out there and it would be interesting to see how it would fare against the new upcoming iPhones. The tests also revealed the Galaxy Note 9 will have 6GB of RAM and there is no word as to whether it will have an 8GB variant. 23. Dell's best selling laptop the XPS 13 just got a revamped look, feel and specifications to make it one of the top ultraportables in the market. The XPS 13, more or less, looked the same for the past three years and for 2018, the American company decided to give it a much-needed overhaul. The laptop has a brand new chassis and an 8th-gen Intel CPUs. The XPS 13 is said to have better battery life and for the first time will be available in white. © Dell A closer look at the specifications reveals it has a thinner and lighter body that Dell claims to be 24 percent smaller. It weighs only 1.21 kilograms and measures 11.9 x 7.8 x 0.46-inches. The new XPS 13 is closer in size to Apple's 12-inch MacBook Air and it features Dell's signature Infinity Edge display. The laptop is powered by the latest Intel 8th Generation Quad Core processor and can support fast booting SSDs up to 1TB. You can also expect the longest battery life of any 13-inch laptop, with almost 20 hours on FHD, up to 11 on UHD (Mobile Mark 14). Customers can make a choice between an 8th-Gen Intel Core i5-8250U CPU, or a Core i7-8550U chip, up to 16GB of RAM and even a 1TB PCIe SSD if you need a lot of onboard storage. © Dell The XPS 13 has also ditched the traditional USB Type-A ports for three USB-C ports, much like the MacBook Pro by Apple. If you are still using devices that utilise the USB Type-A ports, Dell includes a USB-C to USB-A dongle in the box. Out of the three ports, two can support Thunderbolt 3 and can also be used as a charging port. The XPS 13 is the world's first laptop built with GORE Thermal Insulation, the same silica aerogels that have been used in the high tech science and extreme engineering environments to diffuse and dissipate heat, such as insulation on the Mars Rover and Hyper Velocity Particle capture in the Stardust Probe. This material directs heat out of the device, keeping your system cool while it works. © BCCL The laptop can be activated by voice, touch or facial recognition. Users can log in with a look or a touch with the infrared camera and optional fingerprint reader in the power button for Windows Hello. The new XPS 13 is available globally beginning today on Dell.com and Microsoftstore.com, starting at $999.99. Dell is also offering an Ubuntu-based developer edition with Linux preloaded starting at $949.99 beginning today on Dell.com in the US and in Europe as well. 24. Smartphones today are progressing in a fashion with thinner chassis, faster performance, larger screens and shrinking bezels. Smartphones are implementing new technologies every year, however, one aspect of the smartphone has always remained stagnant. Battery technology has only improved marginally and nothing exciting has been happening — until now. Samsung's Advanced Institute of Technology is implementing a new material in their batteries to give the Korean company that extra edge. Samsung has come up with another use for graphene, a material that has previously been used to purify seawater and detecting cancer. The same material can also do wonders when put inside lithium-ion batteries. Samsung used the material to create a "graphene ball" – a special coating that's used inside a typical lithium-ion battery that's found in most modern smartphones. This, in effect, would increase the overall capacity by up to 45 percent and will also speed up the charging process by five times. © OnePlus We already have impressive fast charging features such as OnePlus's Dash Charge and Huawei's Supercharge that can fully charge a smartphone in a very short amount of time. If this new technology is fruitful, you should be able to charge your smartphone from 0 to 100-percent in less than 20 minutes. © BCCL Samsung has been working on the new technology and have reported that even after 500 total charge cycles, the battery still manages to retain 78 percent of charge. In other words, the new battery tech is able to last extremely long without having the degrade the battery life and still manage to achieve super-fast recharge times. © Samsung The South Korean company has already filed patents for the application of graphene balls in batteries. It is however still unclear as to when we will be seeing this technology in smartphones and when it will make its way to consumers. Li-ion batteries are used in various other gadgets such as electric cars, drones, smartwatches and others. This application of fast charging could benefit other gadgets as well and can be adopted on a wider scale. Samsung says that it is possible to scale up this technology for larger batteries. We will just have to wait and see what the future hold for us and we hope we can see this technology implemented in smartphones safely and with caution in the near future. They seem to always take off at a slow rate. Getting that right will definitely help people,” Bolt told the Herald Sun. Well, no one doubts his words as it is that very 'explosive' start indeed that helped him bag eight Olympic gold medals and become a track God. The Aussies were in damn good hands and they sure made the most of it, as evident by the words of batsman Peter Handscomb who welcomed the precious tips with open arms. © Reuters “He was giving us a few pointers on how to get a little bit faster.
