  1. India is a melting pot of culture and the synergy of art and cinema that this country radiates is seldom matched by any other country. While Bollywood is globally recognised as a huge source of mass entertainment, the entertainment industry in South India is also a biggie and is sometimes, in fact, known to be more professional and streamlined where work is concerned. South Indian movie stars are perceived to be humble and real for their fans and hence the ever-growing appetite for making more movies is understandable. However, there are some North Indian stars as well who have enjoyed immense fame, and here are 5 Punjabi actresses who have managed to have a successful career down South as well: 1. Taapsee Pannu Long before she forayed and made her mark in Bollywood, Taapsee Pannu was already a famous name down South. She has been there for over a decade and has many hits to her credit including Aadukalam and Mogudu. she is one of the finest actresses of recent times and is currently riding on the success of her recent movie Thappad which raises the issue of domestic violence in the country. Rakul Preet Singh Another Punjabi from Delhi whoâs made her mark in South Indian movie industry before she sets hears ablaze in Bollywood as well. she made her Telugu and Tamil debut in the same year before entering Bollywood in 2014. Rakul is also the brand ambassador of the Telangana government which explains her popularity. 2. Zoya Akhtar revealed that she and her brother Farhan Akhtar would jump right into a gangster film if offered one
  3. âWhich actors would you like for your film, Mr. Anderson?â â...Yes.â If youâre a fan of Wes Andersonâs work, particularly with Searchlight Pictures, you have seen some of the most delightful stuff to ever be captured on film. Generous, sweeping pastel palettes, acting choreographed with razor-sharp finesse, and of course, the glorious, glorious symmetry thatâs become synonymous with the filmmaker. © Searchlight Pictures Thereâs plenty of reasons to be excited for the upcoming film, The French Dispatch - but before we get into excited adulations surrounding what might just be the most âWes Andersonâ film by Wes Anderson, take a look at the trailer, which just dropped this Thursday. The trailer opens with Bill Murray as Arthur Howitzer Jr., editor of the French Dispatch - described in the trailer as âa factual weekly report on the world of politics, the arts â high and low â and diverse stories of human interest.â Anderson happens to be a collector and fan of The New Yorker magazine - and the journalists depicted in the film as well as the stories they follow seem to be loosely inspired by the unique, thrilling and often bizarre tales youâd find during the publicationâs heyday in the 1950s. It also seems that the film jumps back and forth in time a la The Grand Budapest Hotel - playing around with colour, black-and-white and in a delightful nod to classic cinema, old-school aspect ratios. It appears that the central plot of this film weaves itself around three particular stories, hunted down by the Dispatchâs legendary journalists. © Searchlight Pictures âThe Concrete Masterpieceâ is the subject of the first story - reported by J.K.L. Berensen (Tilda Swinton). The masterpiece itself is an enigmatic painting produced by an apparently psychopathic, imprisoned artist - Moses Rosenthaler (Benicio Del Toro), whose muse Simone (Lea Seydoux) also happens to be his jailer. Things take a turn for the intense as art dealer Julien Cadazio (Adrein Brody) shows up with one thing on his mind - to get Rosenthaler to part with his beloved painting, no matter the cost. © Searchlight Pictures If youâve ever watched Bernardo Bertelucciâs The Dreamers, youâll like this one. Deeply influenced by the 1968 student riots in Paris, âRevisions To A Manifestoâ is written by Lucinda Krementz (Frances McDormand), and follows the story of two young French revolutionaries - Zeffirelli (Timothee Chalamet) and Juliette (Kyna Khoudri). While this little vignette seems to have the least footage in the trailer, we do get a rather funny, mysterious glimpse of Zeffirelli interrupted during a shower by Krementz, who seems to be... crying? © Searchlight Pictures Again - if you dig Wes Anderson, it would come as no surprise that heâd sneak in food critic Roebuck Wright (Jeffrey Wright) into the Dispatchâs battalion of front-line reporters. The filmmaker has always enjoyed creating marvelous setpieces revolving around food, and this one takes the cake - no pun intended. âThe Private Dining Roomâ revolves around a master chefâs (Steve Park) unique dining experiences, and one particular dinner where a guest (Mathieu Amalric) receives a chilling phone call, informing him that his son has been kidnapped. Itâs speculated that actors Williem DaFoe, Liev Schrieber, Ed Norton and Saiorse Ronan also have a part to play in this delectable tale. Owen Wilson and Christoph Waltz are also casted - along with a bevy of exceptional French talent. While the film is slated for a July 24th release, itâs to be expected that the film will have a special screening at this yearâs Cannes Film Festival, which will be held a bit earlier this May. If only we had a few tickets to France... View the full article

Now in season two of its fourth edition, the Navrasa Duende World Movie Festival has focused on revisiting world cinema classics. Several timeless films have been honoured at their screenings, where film-lovers and newcomers have been treated to the very best of cinema alike, in a variety of languages and genres - with more than a few hidden gems to add to your watched-list. Hereâs what the festival will screen this weekend, at the Siri Fort auditorium. Day One: 8th February 2020 (Saturday)10:30 A.M. - Lawrence of Arabia (English) The story of T.E. Lawrence, the English officer who successfully united and led the diverse, often warring, Arab tribes during World War I in order to fight the Turks. 03:30 P.M. - A Separation (Persian) A married couple are faced with a difficult decision - to improve the life of their child by moving to another country or to stay in Iran and look after a deteriorating parent who has Alzheimer's disease. 06:45 P.M. - The Conformist (Italian) A weak-willed Italian man becomes a fascist flunky who goes abroad to arrange the assassination of his old teacher, now a political dissident. Day Two: 9th February 2020 (Sunday)10:30 A.M. - 2001: A Space Odyssey (English) After discovering a mysterious artifact buried beneath the Lunar surface, mankind sets off on a quest to find its origins with help from intelligent supercomputer H.A.L. 9000. 03:00 P.M. - In The Mood For Love (Cantonese) Set in 1960âs Hong Kong, two neighbors, a woman and a man, form a strong bond after both suspect extramarital activities of their spouses. However, they agree to keep their bond platonic so as not to commit similar wrongs. 06:00 - Le Mepris (French) Screenwriter Paul Javal's marriage to his wife Camille disintegrates during movie production as she spends time with the producer. Layered conflicts between art and business ensue. The films are broadly selected through a surprisingly meticulous process. Divided into three ranges, Navrasa Duende chooses its films based on a scale weighing the artistic commitment of a film alongside its popular appeal - and the balance it strikes between those extremes. âThe festival is a moment to celebrate art and global community,â shares festival founder Dinesh Singh with The Indian Express. âMore than ever, we need to talk to each other and understand how we see the world, and cinema is the best medium to engage without prejudice.â You can purchase your tickets for the festival here. 5. While we all have a few favourites when it comes to Bollywood pairings in movies, sometimes, we become our own casting agents and like to wonder if a movie could have worked better with a much-better pairing. Here are 5 superstars who have never worked together but would look great indeed if they did a film and shared the screen space for the sake of their fans: 1. Aamir Khan & Shah Rukh Khan © Bollywood The two powerful Khans of Bollywood shared a history of animosity and bad blood but that is all out of the window now, ever since the two reconciled. Even though we have spotted them in B-town weddings and events together, a movie with our two favourites will be a treat for their fans. 2. Ranbir Kapoor & Kangana Ranaut © Bollywood Two actors who always manage to grab eyeballs for their dating life and sometimes, choice of work, are powerhouses of talent. Watching Ranbir Kapoor star in a movie with Kangana Ranaut would be super interesting to watch since both of them are extremely critical and picky about their script choices. The end result is bound to be stellar. 3. Salman And Deepika © Colors Deepika Padukone has managed to do admirable work and work with almost every big star, however, we havenât watched these two share the screen yet. 4. Rani Mukerji & Akshay Kumar © Bollywood Two super-talented actors who have been in this industry for over two decades but havenât been in a single movie together. I feel the need a very strong script and good direction, because nothing less than perfect for these two. 5. Katrina Kaif & Ranveer Singh © Bollywood Good looks, good talent and extremely-pleasing aesthetic is what will happen when someone gets these two to share the silver space together. I feel a good comedy would be a great recipe. 6. Varun Dhawan & Hrithik Roshan © Bollywood After watching Hrithik and Tiger nail an action thriller like War, I feel Varun and Hrithik would make for a great bromance storyline. View the full article

  7. The heartthrob of Bollywood, Hrithik Roshan has donned many avatars in his movies over the years, however, the one role noticeably missing from his repertoire is that of a cop. At a recent event, Umang: A Mumbai Police Welfare Fund's Initiative, Hrithik expressed his desire to someday, essay the role of a police officer. Acknowledging the efforts of the Mumbai Police, the War star said, "Mumbai is one of the best cities to live in and it is because of the Mumbai police force. I couldn't make it to Umang 2019 last year but this year I made sure that I come here. I am feeling wonderful performing at a stage for all the policemen who work for us day and night and keep us safe." View this post on InstagramThis oneâs all about the iphone. #ShotonIPhonePro . Good morning !A post shared by (@hrithikroshan) He also said that the role of a cop is one that he has been wanted to play for a long time. "In my entire life, I have essayed all kinds of roles. However, I haven't got a chance to play the character of a policeman. I would urge the filmmakers to write a police officer's role for me because that will be the most challenging role of my life. I am sure I will make it the best role of my life," he added. Don't know about you guys, but we think Hrithik, as a badass cop, beating the crap out of goons and criminals will be a sight to behold. Well, it this happens, looks like our beloved Singham and Simbaa will have some tough competition. What do you think? Let us know in the comments below. View the full article
  8. 1917, is one of the best war-films released in 2019 across the globe and on 17 Jan, 2020 in India, that is sweeping the award season this year. But the reason why 1917 is so unique is that the film design makes the viewer believe that everything was shot in one single cut. Set in April 1917, the film takes place during the first World War. Germans have retreated back from the French territory mysteriously and without warning, later, it's found out that it's a trap set by the Germans. The British Battalion of 1600 men set to attack the Germans on the Hindenburg Line the next morning could potentially lose their lives in this trap. The film follows the mission of two soldiers Dean-Charles Chapman as Lance Corporal Blake and George MacKay as Lance Corporal Schofield who are asked to deliver the message to the battalion and further asking them to stand down. The pair has to cross the vast "no man's land" filled with the debris of dead soldiers and scavengers feasting on these bodies. © DreamWorks Pictures This anti-war film doesn't follow the generic format of the war-genre with a redemptive arc for the protagonist. Instead, the film focuses on making this mission an experiential one. You'll feel like following the two soldiers. Directed and co-written by Sam Mendes, the film features Mark Strong, Andrew Scott, Richard Madden, Claire Duburcq, Colin Firth and Benedict Cumberbatch among others in pivotal roles. With stunning visuals and exceptional narrative, the film has historical roots but is certainly not based on a true story. Here are seven real-life historical connections with the film that make the narrative even more compelling. © DreamWorks Pictures 1. Sam Mendes's grandfather, Alfred H. Mendes served as a soldier in World War 1 for the British army on the Western Front and was sent on a mission in which he had to traverse across the âno man's landâ. However, the plotline in this film is largely inspired by his experience and the characters are fictional. The mission was written by the scriptwriters and most events are fabricated versions of the real-life event. The narrative to save a soldier's brother and his entire battalion is an incredible tale but it's important to note that the story is necessarily not a true one. © DreamWorks Pictures 2. It's true that the Germans obliterated everything in their wake, that could potentially be used by the Allies while retreating, creating a vast âno man's landâ. Roads, bridges, and water pipes were all destroyed in case the Allies moved forwards. Instead, booby-traps and barbed wire were set up which is represented in the extremely authentic set design in 1917. Itâs partly based on real-life events. © DreamWorks Pictures 3. In real life, Mendes's grandfather was given the Military Medal after volunteering to locate soldiers during the Battle of Passchendaele. This instance inspired the discussion between the two soldiers in the film about the honour of a military medal. McKay's character had received one and claimed it as a "piece of tin" that he traded for wine when he was thirsty. While Chapman's character held it as a symbol of pride and was rather excited to receive one. © DreamWorks Pictures 4. During the war, these trenches went on for miles of complicated twists and turns. The trenches on the Western Front were a pivotal feature of WWI and were created with as much accuracy as possible in the film. They hired a British Army veteran, Paul Biddiss, to act as a technical adviser to make these trenches in the film look as authentic as possible. The crew had dug about 2,500 feet of trenches by the end of it. © DreamWorks Pictures 5. In the timeline that this movie is set up, in real time, the First Battle of Passchendaele (or the Third Battle of Ypres) was underway. The battle that occurs in the film is heavily modeled on the Battle of Poelcappelle, which took place during the previously mentioned battles. This battle too was based on misleading information, much like it was in the movie. During this battle, the Allies thought they had an advance, but in reality, they did not. © DreamWorks Pictures 6. The background characters in the film are seen passing time by performing certain actions that were actually done by soldiers as they 'waited' for the battle to take place. Army Veteran, Paul Biddiss lent his expertise in assigning them tasks or leisure activities possible at the front. These included using candles to kill lice, filling sandbags, or even playing chess with buttons. © DreamWorks Pictures 7. 6 April, 1917, the date the film is set is based on the events that took place on 5 April. During the war, the Germans moved their troops to the Hindenburg Line along the Aisne River. The dispute between the Allies seeing it as a 'retreat' and the Germans seeking resources and a better location was actually based on real events. Besides, 6 April was the date that the Americans entered the war. Source: SCREENRANT View the full article
  9. Disney drops 'Fox' name from 20th Century film studio: reportsNEW YORK: Disney will rename 20th Century Fox to distance its legendary film studio from the assets of media tycoon Rupert Murdoch, US media reported Friday. The entertainment conglomerate last year acquired most of the assets of 21st Century Fox group, including the film house, while former owner Murdoch and his shareholders kept several TV channels, including Fox News. Variety magazine reported that the entertainment giant decided to rename its subsidiary to remove all links with Fox due to the ultra-conservative image of Murdoch and his Fox News channel — the preferred news source of President Donald Trump. Disney's decision is a symbolic step for one of Hollywood´s founding studios, which began production in 1914 and merged with 20th Century Pictures in 1935. The Fox Searchlight studio, 20th Century Fox's younger sibling, will also be rebranded as Searchlight Pictures. Disney has yet to decide on the fate of television studios 20th Century Fox Television and Fox 21 Television, according to Variety. Disney did not respond to AFP's request for comment.
  10. Under-fire Deepika Padukone visits temple, prays for new film 'Chhapaak'MUMBAI: Bollywood's top actress was snapped praying in a temple on Friday ahead of the release of her new film as a storm continued to rage over her attendance at a recent student protest. The presence of Deepika Padukone, 34, at the demonstration in New Delhi on Tuesday broke with the unspoken tradition of Bollywood stars remaining for the most part apolitical. It unleashed a furore on social media with detractors accusing the actress of a publicity stunt to promote her latest role as an acid attack survivor, while others applauded her courage. On Thursday Smriti Irani, a former model and TV actress who is now a minister in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's cabinet, accused her of being unpatriotic. Padukone was "standing with people who celebrate every time a CRPF jawan is killed," Irani said, referring to an Indian paramilitary soldier. Members of Modi's Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) have called for a boycott of her film Chhapaak (Splash), which came out on Friday. They have urged moviegoers to watch Tanhaji, a swashbuckling historical epic about a Hindu general, instead. Padukone was attending a protest after an attack blamed on a group close to the BJP at a Delhi university last Sunday injured 34 students while police allegedly stood by. The incident followed several weeks of protests nationwide against a new citizenship law during which police have been accused of using excessive force, with at least 25 people killed. Media reports said that Modi's government has also shelved a promotional video featuring Padukone in which she speaks about the need to give acid attack survivors equal opportunities. Meanwhile two Indian states and one union territory run by the main opposition Congress party have cut government taxes on tickets for Padukone's film.
  11. Fatima Sana Shaikh dismisses reports of signing film with Shah Rukh KhanBollywood actress Fatima Sana Shaikh has dismissed reports of signing any film with Shah Rukh Khan. In a recent interview, the Dangal actress said she had not signed a film with Shah Rukh Khan yet. Fatima said working with SRK was her biggest film dream, however, she does not know that something like this is on the cards. Earlier, there were reports that The Thugs of Hindostan actor was being considered for the female lead role opposite Khan in the upcoming film Salute. Fatima Sana made her Bollywood debut with Aamir Khan in Dangal in 2016. She also worked with him in Thugs of Hindostan. Fatima is a fan of Shah Rukh Khan and once she had admitted that she was dying to work with the superstar.

  13. Siddhant Chaturvedi isn't exactly a sneakerhead when compared to the rest of his brethren from the B-town. As opposed to most Bollywood celebs who have often been seen wearing some of the most flamboyant and unhinged sneakers ever made, Siddhant has much subtler preferences and poised taste when it comes to footwear. © Instagram/siddhantchaturvedi That being said, he does know how to make a statement or two, even with some really basic sneakers. © Viral Bhayani At the premiere of Deepika Padukone and our January 2020 cover star, Vikrant Massey's upcoming film, Chapaak, Siddhant was spotted wearing one of the coolest and most understated pairs of chunky white sneakers. Well to be honest, they kind of looked like a pair of sneakers that children wear to their schools on PT days, which make them even cooler. © Viral Bhayani First, let's get to the rest of his outfit. Siddhant is wearing a rather simple and laidback salamander orange crewneck sweatshirt from Jack & Jones, and rather sombre and classic pair of denim jeans from Levi's. The slim-fitting denim and the sweatshirt look rather dope on him and further add to the boy-next-door charm that the actor has. © Viral Bhayani As for his accessories, Siddhant's decision to keep it simple is actually a good one. When you've got an outfit as basic as this, you don't need to put on every watch, bracelet, and wristband that you've ever owned. A simple and tastefully made watch is sufficient. © Viral Bhayani Finally, coming to the sneakers themselves, they are a pair from Skechers, and legit look like one of those pairs of sneakers that students wear to their PT days. © Viral Bhayani That being said, the sneakers, with their chunky soles, and black and white lace loops do look cool, and make for a really hipster-looking pair of dad-sneakers. This just goes on to show how normcore has become the new norm. © Viral Bhayani All we'll say is that Siddhant does make a compelling case for dressing down for a grand event. Hats off, man, take a bow. View the full article
  14. Prime Minister Imran Khan, in an old video that has resurfaced recently, revealed that he was offered to work in Bollywood by renowned Indian actor Dev Anand. However, he rejected to do so. During an interview in a TV show titled India Questions, in 2006, PM Imran was quizzed about having thought of joining Bollywood. To this, he replied with a grin stating, ”You won't believe it, I was asked by one great Indian actor who we all used to look up to. Who in fact, even turned up in England to ask me to act in a film. But you know I was puzzled." The premier then raised questions about who made him the intriguing offer, and why did he turn it down. At first, PM Imran didn’t reveal the name and said, "I won't name him because it'll be embarrassing." However, the 1992 World Cup victor skipper, on insistence confirmed that it was none other than Dev Anand. “But for me, it's strange. Just because I'm playing cricket, how can I become an actor? It makes no sense to me," he said. PM Imran also shared, “In fact, Ismael Merchant once asked me to act in a film. But again, I was always puzzled, how can I act? I couldn't even act in a school play, forget about going into films." The incident has also been mentioned in Dev Anand’s 2007 autobiography Romancing with Life.
  15. Dawn Chief Executive Hameed Haroon (L) and film director Jamshed Mehmood Raza, known popularly as 'Jami' (R). Geo.tv/FilesKARACHI: Film director Jamshed Mehmood Raza, known popularly as 'Jami', has accused Dawn Chief Executive Hameed Haroon of rape, an allegation that Haroon categorically denied through a statement issued Monday, terming it "simply untrue and intentionally fabricated". Jami had first come forward in October earlier this year, saying he was "brutally raped by a very powerful person in our media world”. He had said he was speaking up to show solidarity with survivors of sexual violence and the #MeToo movement. At that time, he had refrained from naming the alleged perpetrator but claimed that he (the perpetrator) belonged to the media industry. In a Twitter thread on Saturday, Jami named Haroon as his rapist and said: "Im ready now. R u ready to print this @dawn_com?" However, Haroon "categorically [denied] the allegation of rape" in his statement and announced that he was "initiating legal action to clear my name and reputation, and to safeguard the freedom of the press". "But since I had not been specifically named in the [earlier] tweets, I was advised, that even though I had a fair idea of who was prompting Jami Raza, I should exercise restraint until I was specifically named. On 28th December, Jami Raza specifically named me and it has therefore become necessary to respond," he added. The Dawn CEO also "unequivocally condemn[ed] such dastardly acts" and said he "always demonstrated sympathy and support" for victims. However, he also talked of false allegations "leveled by powerful groups to serve their own social and political agendas with the calculated motive of destroying the reputation and dignity of a person". He noted that he was "convinced that the false and malicious allegation has been leveled at the instigation of powerful interests in the state and society who, for their own motives and the promotion of their own repressive narrative, wish to destroy my credibility and as a consequence thereof, the credibility of the newspaper group that I am associated with". "So far as the tweets and some newspaper reports are concerned, I am initiating legal action to clear my name and reputation, and to safeguard the freedom of the press by bringing to justice all those responsible for these false and malicious allegations against me," he added. In a statement responding to Haroon, Jami rejected the assertion that he was acting on behalf of anyone by accusing Haroon. "I'm from a family where we don't use any illegal means to serve any purpose at all. Rest we will see in court. This is for victims and survivors. We put our neck out (because) #metoo died here in Pakistan (because) of all these dirty tricks," he said in a statement posted on Twitter.
  16. Akshay Kumar's latest film Good Newwz is facing legal trouble just after its release. A PIL (Public Interest Litigation) has been filed in Karnataka High Court against the film asking a stay on its release, over the plot of the film. The film revolves around a story of two couples who opt for IVF to have a child through a private clinic and accidentally the sperms interchange. According to News18, A Mysuru-based NGO has filed the PIL and the petition calls the subject of the film misguiding and also makes the audience believe that IVF centers often makes such mistakes. View this post on Instagram The Batra's are coming to spread some cheer, this Christmas ð#3DaysToGoodNewwz #KareenaKapoorKhan @diljitdosanjh @kiaraaliaadvani #GoodNewwzThisFriday A post shared by Akshay Kumar (@akshaykumar) on Dec 23, 2019 at 10:23pm PST The petition says, "The movie is about two childless couples, who come for IVF treatment, and the sperms get exchanged. This is bound to create a lot of confusion and uncertainty about the credibility of IVF treatment itself. As childless couples are already under immense social and psychological pressure, this may further cause emotional disturbance for them." It also says, "The lead actors of this film are endorsing that this type of mix-up does not happen at Indira IVF Center, which creates doubts in the minds of people about the credibility of other IVF treatment centers across India. The petitioner has absolutely no reservation for somebody making an effort to increase the credibility of Indira IVF but not at the cost of the others in the field. This is the wrong type of product placement.” The petitioner, Mir Sameem Raza said, "It may be a fictional movie. But the plot is evident that there is a sperm mix up. By endorsing only one IVF center, it is indirectly saying that mix-ups happen a lot in other IVF centers. Hence, we have petitioned for a stay.” The film has already been released in the theatres and has been well-received by the audience. View the full article

Usually, the President honours the winners every year, but this time he will reportedly host a high tea for the winners while Vice President Venkaiah Naidu will honour them. The feature #films this year are as much about emotions as they are about intelligence In the bouquet of films, we have films that break stereotypes and attack superstitions sensitively We see through the maker's imagination how orthodox traditions give way to modern solutions pic.twitter.com/W06Yfi9sy6 — Vice President of India (@VPSecretariat) December 23, 2019 To begin with, let's talk about the man 'jo rishte me sabke baap lagte hai', the Shahenshah of Bollywood Amitabh Bachchan who was conferred with this year's Dadasaheb Phalke award. 21. Vidya Balanâs Kahaani became a massive hit, courtesy her brilliant character, a gripping story line and of course great direction work. One particular thing that stood out in the movie was the character of the innocent, naïve looking LIC agent Bob Biswas who is a cold blooded murderer in reality. Played effortlessly by actor Saswata Chatterjee, Bobâs character stayed on with the audience long after the movie was over and the credits rolled out. Turns out that the craze of Bob Biswas has gripped the makers as much as the audience and now after years since the movie released, it has been announced by none other than SRK that Bob Biswas is all set to have his own spin-off movie now. The movie is being produced by Red Chillies Entertainment and while the news of this movie is exciting to us, sadly, Saswata is not going to reprise the role, ironically made famous by him. Actor AbPhoto: © YouTube (Main Image)hishek Bachchan is going to step in his shoes now. Nomoshkar! ðð»ð Thrilled to announce our upcoming film, #BobBiswas in association with Bound Script Production; starring @juniorbachchan and directed by Diya Annapurna Ghosh. @gaurikhan @iamsrk @sujoy_g @_GauravVerma pic.twitter.com/CoQLlfE55X â Red Chillies Entertainment (@RedChilliesEnt) November 25, 2019 This piece of information has not made all Bob fans happy. I honestly feel bad for #SaswataChatterjee upon hearing the news of #BobBiswas getting its own spin off! A character, with such limited screen time had such a lasting impact with audiences as the antagonist. I guess itâs the sad reality of pitching a scalable film! pic.twitter.com/qMo21PL8RX â ANMOL JAMWAL (@jammypants4) November 25, 2019 @greatbong Abhishek Bachchan to portray #BobBiswas in upcoming movie. I think the character worked due to Saswata Chatterjee's brilliant acting. Don't think AB jr. can do even 10% justice to the cult villain. Your thoughts? pic.twitter.com/tOCcHLuguk â dorian (@stoicola) November 25, 2019 In fact, some fans are so upset with the makers and the general trend on Bollywood riding money on only A-listers, that people got #RIPBobBiswas trending. So the original actor who played the character so flawlessly is still alive? But then again it is Bollywood... There has been no comment made by the actor yet, so we donât really know if heâs cool with what is happening or feels cheated, like most Bob fans feel at the moment. View the full article
