  1. Jason Momoa aka Khal Drogo made his exit from 'Game of Thrones' over 9 years ago but you still feel his presence in spirit. From 'GOT' get-togethers to cheerleading for his 'Khaleesi', Momoa has never once taken a back seat from being an enthu-cutlet for the show. So, it was only obvious for fans to wait for his reaction towards the finale and he did join the party of disappointed fans, but only a bit late. Last night, Momoa went live on social media and got very furious when he saw his beloved Khaleesi dying. Jason Momoa had a very NSFW reaction to Dany's death in the 'Game of Thrones' finale 𤬠(via prideofgypsies | Instagram)pic.twitter.com/xQbV2TzkwT — Fandom (@getFANDOM) May 21, 2019 So he basically spoke for all of us since he was also like 'WTF just happened here'? 2. If there is one thing that every true blue fan of a superhero movie, TV series or anime franchise feels very strongly about, it is attending every comic con held in their region and coming up with the best cosplay costume out there for it. Because, if you think about it, what would be the fun in attending such events celebrating the characters we love, if not for the fan-atics stepping out in their best costumes and making us witness our favourite characters come to life before our eyes? However, while most of us want to dress up like our favourite characters and head to the events amidst a lot of hooting, and multiple photo-ops and free-flowing appreciation that follows, there is one thing in particular that holds us back. The huge-ass hole that the entire project of creating a costume from scratch burns into our pockets. Trust us, we have been there. Right from scrounging for the perfect materials, to creating the accessories and props to go with it, it's a hell lot of work (and fun). However, not everyone can expend that much energy or resources on the activity, and that is the sad truth. But don't lose hope just yet because it seems a young man from Thailand has found the ultimate low-cost hack of nailing cosplay costumes. Anucha Sangchart from Bangkok has been creating real low-cost cosplay costumes for a while now, and has close to 4 million followers on his page Lowcostcosplay on Facebook. The page features hundreds of out-of-the-box ways of nailing cosplay on social media at the very least, if not for bigger events. People love his creations (some of which are downright hilarious), and keep coming back for more. However, what caught our attention this time, were some of his cosplay costume ideas for 'Game of Thrones'. They are apt, on-point and so good they'll crack you up despite yourself. 1. Nailed The Night King 2. Dracarys All The Way 3. Jon Snow Didn't See That Coming 4. The White Walker Who's Actually A Nightmare 5. Even Khaleesi Wouldn't Question This Dude's Creativity 6. OMG Cersei, Is That You? 7. MOUNTAIN!
  3. 'Game of Thrones' series finale aired yesterday, and well, it got a lot of mixed reactions from viewers across the globe. But despite the backlash, the final episode of the series titled, “The Iron Throne,” melted its previous viewership record. The final episode broke all the viewership records by drawing 19.3 million viewers across HBO's platforms, overtaking the previous series high of 18.4 million viewers set by the previous episode. © HBO The final episode of the series has been receiving a lot of flak on the internet. Fans across the globe think that the showrunners 'rushed' to finish the series. Heck, people have been signed a petition asking the producers to remake the final season with better writers. Despite all the backlash, almost all episodes of the final series had record-breaking numbers when it comes to the viewership. The first episode drew over 17 million viewers. The number dipped a little for the second episode as it drew 15.9 million viewers. Since then, all the episodes have had over 17 million people watching the show across all HBO's platforms. © HBO Here's a quick look at the viewership numbers for the season 8- Episode 1/ Season premiere: 17.4 million Episode 2: 15.9 million Episode 3: 17.8 million Episode 4: 17.2 million Episode 5: 18.4 million Episode 6/ Series finale: 19.3 million
  4. If you haven't seen the swan song of 'Game of Thrones', you probably shouldn't read ahead. With Stark children in all their 'rightful' places that in a way defines closure for them as characters, we now know that they're doing something they've had intentions of before but never got around doing because of circumstances. Like how Jon once said to Ygritte that he wanted to wander around sans responsibility. He's doing that, in the end, considering no one needs a Night's Watch anymore. And Arya is off for another adventure, something she once mentioned during her time in Braavos. © HBO Arya once asked, "Essos is East. Westeros is West, but what's West of Westeros?" A question no one in Westeros can answer because that's where all the maps end. No one really knows. With the White Walkers dead, and the Mad Queen murdered, there's really no action left in Westeros. They're going to try and rebuild the city and the damage a dragon and his mother had caused. But sedentary life was never made for Arya. She's already declined Gendry's proposal because that's not her. But here's the thing, after wrapping up a successful series like 'Game of Thrones', HBO is open to the idea of spin-offs, one of which is already in the making. But here's a spin-off we wouldn't mind watching: Arya the Adventurer and her explorations of a world beyond Westeros. Arya mentioned back in Season 6 to Lady Crane that no one knows what's West of Westeros. So she created her own Stark fleet with a Stark sigil atop. Fans have requested for the spin-off on her extended storyline and honestly, it makes sense. Unlike the show, the books do provide a little information about what's West of Westeros. Like Daenerys, Arya will have to cross the Sunset Sea. According to the 'Wiki of Ice and Fire', the Sunset Sea contains animals like swordfish, seals and whales but no one has ever successfully crossed this sea, according to Martin. Somewhat fittingly, the last person to try was another King Bran Stark — Brandon the Shipwright from the North. But he was never heard of again. But now we know Arya is made differently. She can survive this and that would make for a brilliant story that we'd love to hear.
  5. One of the greatest television shows, 'Game of Thrones', ended with one of the worst possible conclusions that the writers of the show could have come up with. According to George RR Martin, writers David Benidoff and D.B. Weiss let the internet gossip get the better of them and forced them to diverge from the books' story in order to make the show more unpredictable and exciting. With the emerging plot holes and unfinished subplots of the show due to random changes in the original story, the risk taken by the show writers failed so miserably that the fans of the series even filed a petition for the eighth and final season of the show be rewritten and remade. ** SPOILERS AHEAD ** In the final 15-20 minutes of the finale, the writers managed to screw up their fanbase even more when in an open house assembly of the most influential people of the Seven Kingdoms got together to “choose” the next ruler of the land. And after Tyrion's half-hearted line about why 'stories are the most powerful weapon in society', they decided to choose Bran Stark, yes, Brandon 'The Broken' Stark as the “King of the Six Kingdoms and the Protector of the Realm” as Sansa decided to name herself the independent Queen of the North. Bran, the boy with the exceptional powers of controlling flying crows and roll up his eyes like the freaking Undertaker, will now be sitting on the Iron Throne (what's left of it, anyway). He was literally the root cause of Hodor dying and the Night King marching South to destroy Winterfell, killing thousands of soldiers, innocent women and children. He then let Theon Greyjoy die right in front of his supernatural eyes and showed absolutely zero efforts towards Daenerys Targaryan's manslaughter over King's Landing as he disappeared from the scenario altogether. Furthermore, when he did in fact become the King, he did not pardon Jon's exile and let him join the Night's Watch and spend his lifetime as a wildling. Anyhow, after the disappointing finale, people on Twitter have taken the task of comparing Bran's rise to the throne to the Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi: Today Bran sits on Throne on 23rd Modi ji will. #GOTFinale #Namoagain — Kamlesh Dorge (@Dorgekamlesh) May 20, 2019 Bran is like Narendra Modi. 6. 'Game Of Thrones' just got over. Let that sink in. As we waddle through the bittersweet waves of emotion, trying to make peace with the fact that perhaps never again, shall we be as excited as we have been throughout the show - be it waking up at 6.30 in the morning, or shielding ourselves from spoilers, or getting into animated discussions with strangers in the middle of nowhere. That, precisely, is the power of a good story, almost like Tyrion pointed out, poetically, before electing Bran The Broken as the new king. © HBO However, the last season had the fans divided, about how good of a story it actually has been. After the peak it reached with the end of season 6 with a fierce storyline unlike anything else we had witnessed before, it seemed to just go downhill. Season 8 had the least rated episodes, with what seemed to be a superbly accelerated pace - a pace the story could not cope up with. The character arcs seemed to have fallen flat, and 7 seasons' worth of build up came crashing down, unable to shoulder the sky-high expectations of viewers (or as some would like to call it - shoddy, lazy writing). However, the finale had a few moments that did try to salvage the wreckage that was season 8. Here are 5 of them. 1. Jon reuniting with Ghost © HBO This has to be the highlight of the episode. After Jon left Ghost with Tormund, and didn't even pet him goodbye, the whole internet went into a crisis so deep, that the dankest memes weren't able to mend. When he finally petted him, we couldn't control our tears. And the smiles that followed. He, after all, has been a 'good boi'. 2. Brienne completing Jaime's story © HBO Brienne of Tarth and Jaime Lannister's incomplete love story perhaps is one of the greatest things this show has given us. Their chemistry, love, and respect for each other knew no bounds, and it stayed on, even in death. Jaime abandoned Brienne to return to Cersei - the love of his life, and instead of carrying the bitterness around, Brienne chose to write a respectful end for Jaime in the pages of history, announcing to the entire world that he died while protecting his queen. 3. Bronn becoming Master of Coin © HBO Everyone is aware of Bronn and his castle dream. Not just he got to be the Lord of Highgarden, he also became the Master of Coins - which means he gets to control all the money. From a sellsword to this - Bronn's character arc shows nothing is impossible when you persevere and play smart. 4. The Stark children all growing up and going their independent ways © HBO The portrayal of the Stark children showed us what family is all about. They had each other to lean on till the very end, but it did not mean that they had to lead lives that were chained to each other. While Jon went back to the Night's Watch, Sansa became Queen of the North, Arya chose to go on another expedition to a place no one knows about, and Bran became the new King - but they still stayed a happy family, till the very end. 5. Monarchy was abolished in Westeros © HBO The Iron Throne was destroyed, and along with that, monarchy came to an end in Westeros. There can't possibly be a better ending (while ignoring the weird events of Season 8 leading to that, of course) for the people of a country. The fact that rulers won't be born anymore, but chosen, even if by a select few, is an upgrade from what it was. Yes, they laughed at the prospect of democracy, but perhaps Oligarchy is still preferable to Monarchy, any day. Well, we didn't want it to end, but like they say, all good things must.
  7. In case you have not watched today's finale, then here's a spoiler warning for you. For everyone who had watched and reacted and commented and lamented , you are not alone! Today's episode has left most fans with a cocktail of thoughts and before anything else, can I please take a moment of how brilliantly Bran orchestrated it all? Like Ekta Kapoor needs to sign him up for her next show. Bran can see anything right? So he knew the Iron Fleet was in Dragonstone and could kill Rheagal? He told Sansa Jon's heritage knowing it would turn Dany nuts. He knew Dany would go mad and wipe out King's Landing. With GOT down the road, what next for us? There's still time for a show to take over, until then let's drink to some disappointment and a flaming thought of how Bran was the real player of this game.
  8. It seemed like yesterday when the whole 'GOT' fever gripped the world and now when you think about it, we had to wait for over 2 years for the final season to drop on us. This season has been a major disappointment for fans across the globe and some fans are so upset that there's a legit petition that been filed for the makers to remake and rewrite the entire season. Now with just one more episode left, it's like a tsunami of expectations and an avalanche of predictions that is coming our way. Now it's kind of difficult to make everyone happy and make up for 5 sloppy episodes, but we sincerely hope that the final episode satiates the hunger for a satisfactory closure. The BTS images this week are numbered to just two images which is sad but maybe the makers don't believe in giving out any hints. The first image shows the dragon queen overlooking the ruins of King's Landing and her army. Looks like she is addressing them and maybe this is the plot twist when something happens. © HBO The other image is that of a confused and dazed Tyrion Lannister, who probably is enduring the madness that he just witnessed. Even after the people rang the bell and surrendered, Khaleesi ended up spitting fire and ensuring everything is limited to just ashes. He also lost his siblings and is contemplating probably if Varys was right about their queen all along. © HBO I firmly believe that Sansa will sit on the throne and in case you wonder why and how, you can read about the theory here. For now, let's wait for Monday morning to dawn upon us. In case you miss the madness on Monday, then you can catch the finale on Star World on Tuesday at 10 PM.
  9. The penultimate episode of 'Game of Thrones' is usually where all the drama lies. This is a set pattern and considering the minimal loss of life in the league of the major characters, we expected major bloodshed, and “The Bells” promised just that. Not that we didn't get bloodshed that we were promised, but it was rather disappointing. In case, you need a round-up of all the people who lost their lives, here's a list of the characters who are now dead and how they met their final ends. 1. Varys © HBO Varys died saying "I hope I'm wrong" to Tyrion referring to Dany losing it in the end. He was burnt alive by Dany's last standing dragon, Drogon in the presence of everyone. It was sad that in the end, it was Tyrion who outed him. 2. Harry Strickland, The Commander Of The Golden Company © HBO The Golden Company may have been a force to be reckoned with, but in front of Dragonfire, they couldn't stand a chance, could they? Harry survived the fire but was later brutally stabbed by Greyworm who was clearly avenging his girlfriend, Missandei's death by the looks of his expressions. 3. Euron Greyjoy © HBO Euron lived in a world of his own. He could've fled the scene but died of his own mistake that was provoking Jaime Lannister and then dying believing that he actually killed him. Tch tch tch, nearing death does make people delusional. 4. Qyburn © HBO Poor guy. Killed by his own creation in the end. The Mountain squeezed his neck in a snap without thinking twice. When has playing God worked out well for anyone? 5. Sandor & Gregor Clegane © HBO The much-awaited Clegaine bowl finally took place. But, oh well, it did not pan out well for either of the parties. While The Mountain was a lost cause, we do miss Ser Gregor. 6. Jaime and Cersei Lannister © HBO We expected a much, much more gruesome death for Cersei for all the cruelness she's inflicted on our favourite characters over the years. But they did want to romanticise their sibling-lovers-relationship in the end. Sigh.
  10. Some might call this week's 'Game Of Thrones' episode a little slow, but if you observed the episode closely, you wouldn't agree at all. This episode was extremely insightful and full of revelations. Seeing human behaviour closely as all characters prepare for seemingly imminent death, was pretty relatable. Not everyone acted the same. Take Arya, for example, the seven seasons have not always been good to her. The training with the faceless man was brutal but so was everything else and she matured beyond her years quickly. And yet at the brink of death, she chose to spend her possible last living hours making love because she wanted to know what it felt like. © HBO Even though some people could relate to this situation, it was still rather surprising to see Arya pursuing Gendry so strongly, considering we've seen her grow up on the show. Turns out, Maisie Williams had the same reaction when she first read the script. © HBO So, apparently, showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss are known to have pranked actors in the past seasons with bogus scripts. "At first, I thought it was a prank," Williams told a leading publication. "I was like, 'Yo, good one.' And [the showrunners were] like, 'No, we haven't done that this year.' Oh f*ck!" But after realizing that is was, in fact, part of the last season, she was given leeway to decide how much she wanted to bare onscreen. "David and Dan were like: 'You can show as much or as little as you want. So I kept myself pretty private. I don't think it's important for Arya to flash. This beat isn't really about that. And everybody else has already done it on the show, so…," she further added. © HBO Joe Dempsey, who plays Gendry, had his own reservations about the show. “At the same time, I don't want to be patronizing toward Maisie—she's a 20-year-old woman. So we just had a lot of fun with it,” he said. Meanwhile, HBO, very sneakily clarified that Arya was, in fact, of age. By age 18 in Westeros you should have: - Had a pet. - Moved out on your own. - Travelled extensively. - Had a kill list. - Pretended to be the opposite *** to evade capture. - Been blind for a while. - Ticked at least three people off of your kill list. — HBO (@HBO_UK) April 21, 2019 So, now it all makes sense.
  11. If you've seen the first episode of the final season of 'Game of Thrones', you'd have come across many things that may seem very probable. That's exactly how and why theories come into place, isn't it? And I believe you already have a few of them tucked under your belt. For instance, after seeing Lord Umber trapped in the 'death swirl' created by the Night King, we do believe the swirl has some relevance in the last season, since we've been seeing it since season 1. It could also mean it has a prominent clue on how to defeat the Night King and his army. Well, that's what theories do, build interest and a narrative for the show. © HBO Similarly, there's another theory doing the rounds. Remember Arya and Gendry and how they parted ways? It broke our hearts to see them bid adieu in the most unfavourable circumstances, but they meet again in season 8, where they are both relieved the other is alive. Gendry, a blacksmith, is busy at Winterfell forging weapons from Dragonglass and Valyrian Steel to defeat the Wights and the White Walkers and being an ace blacksmith himself, he makes some rather indestructible weapons. After a flirtatious banter between the two, Arya asks Gendry to forge her a weapon and I think that's the most romantic gesture I've seen off late! An assassin asking her former crush to craft her the finest weapon of all. Well, we do believe it's the finest because the weapon Arya has asked Gendry to make for her will play a pivotal role in the season. © HBO Let's look at all the facts here. Arya pulls out a drawing and passes it on to Gendry so he can make it. The weapon looks like a double-ended spear/staff, with a Dragonglass and a Valyrian Steel blade on each end, both detachable. Now, if you see the season 8 trailer again, you'll see Arya fight with a weapon that looks like a staff, and not to forget she got adequate training fighting with a staff when she was trying to become one of the 'Faceless Men', so it all adds up I suppose. But that's not all. According to Tommy Dunne, the weapon master of Game Of Thrones, there is a creation in season 8, which is apparently going to steal the show and I bet it's the weapon Aryá asks Gendry to make for her! © HBO “There is one creation in season 8 that is absolutely phenomenal. It'll be a showstopper. That was great to finish. It was great to make, great to design it that it was about to be reverse-engineered and made into two different items.” Dunne told a popular international publication. Does he mean Arya's weapon may put an end to the show? I wonder! Well, we really can't wait to know what Gendry forges for Arya and if the weapon itself is a showstopper like Tommy said. After all, the weapon Arya asks Gendry to make does have two pointy ends!
  12. After waiting for close to two years, the finale of the most-watched show on the face of the Earth, 'Game Of Thrones', is finally dawning upon us in less than 48 hours. Who gets the throne? What happens to the Night King? Does Arya finally find any happiness? Will Khaleesi's dragons survive the battle? These are just a few of the numerous questions we need answers to. It's quite possible that all your GOT nerd friends started way in advance and have probably caught up and brushed up their GOT knowledge, while others are now trying to connect the dots and read online summaries. However, fret not because we have the recaps for all the seasons ready for you right here, so just spare some time and go through them: 1. Season 1- This was all about the Stark family, the patriarch's murder, little Sansa growing up and Khaleesi marrying Khal Drogo amongst other things. 2. Season 2- Tyrion becomes the hand of the King, Theon reunites with Yara, Khaleesi ventures into the house of the undying and we spot the army of White Walkers. 3. Season 3- Joffery falls for the beautiful Margaery, Tywin Lannister tries his hand at match-fixing Tyrion and Cersei for his own good, and we finally see the dark side of Mellisandre, and the horror of the Red Wedding dawns upon us. 4. Season 4- This rollercoaster season is mostly about Ramsay torturing Theon like there's no tomorrow, Tyrion is betrayed by Shae, and Joffrey dies at his own wedding. 5. Season 5- King Tommen marries Margery, Baelish starts travelling with Sansa towards Winterfell, the High Sparrow wreaks havoc, and poor Shireen is burned alive followed by the shocker of Jon Snow getting stabbed to death as well 6. Season 6- Jon is back, King Tommen takes his own life, Bran Stark is being enlightened by his own new found wisdom, we lose the poor Hodor as well. 7. Season 7- Khaleesi loses her dragon to the Night King, The Wall has been smashed, Jon Snow and Khaleesi have apparently fallen in love and Cersei is pregnant with Jaime, who is now leaving her side. The season ended on a gritting note and obviously, the battle for the throne begins now! So, there you go. You're all brushed up and prepared for the ultimate showdown. Let the finale begin!
  13. Artificial Intelligence, as we all know, is slowly changing all of our lives as we know it. They're slowly taking over our jobs, have started driving our cars, and who knows what else. And guess what? A group of researchers just decided to let an AI program decide who will survive to rule the seven kingdoms in the 'Game Of Thrones' finale. The AI program in question here is the same one which predicted Jon Snow would live and Tommen Baratheon would die. And now, as we all are preparing for the final season to premiere in a couple of days, the AI is back at it again. © HBO This particular AI program, in case you are wondering, was created by the students of the Technical University of Munich. The algorithm has analyzed the data of over 2,000 characters with the help of information obtained from 'Game of Thrones' Wiki and The Wiki of Fire and Ice. A particular character's house, gender, marriage history, and things like character significance are among the deciding factors. “When you play the game of thrones you win… OR YOU DIE”. 16. 2019 is a visibly significant year for the world of television as the most famous show of the 21st century is now nearing its end. Fans are gearing up for the premiere of 'Game of Thrones' Season 8, which would also mark the grand finale season of the series. via GIPHY The fandom for the show is unmatched which makes this legend a greater one from every aspect. Other than 'Game of Thrones', many potential stories are brewing and will hit the small screen this year. Here is a look at all the HBO shows which must be on your list, maybe just to get over with the GOT hangover: 1. Big Little Lies - Season 2 Based on a story by best-selling author Liane Moriarty, the first season of 'Big Little Lies' was a prudently plotted tale of murder and yummy mummies topped with a masterly twist on soapy American Drama. The show will be back with Season 2 and unearth the malignancy of lies, the durability of friendships, the fragility of marriage and vicious ferocity of sound parenting. via GIPHY The main characters Madeline Mackenzie (Reese Witherspoon), Celeste Wright (Nicole Kidman) and Jane Chapman (Shailene Woodley), Bonnie Carlson (Zoe Kravitz) and Renata Klein (Laura Dern), are all set to reprise their roles with Meryl Streep joining the cast as Celeste's Mother-in-Law. via GIPHY Reese Witherspoon and Nicole Kidman are back as Executive Producers with David E. Kelley tackling the script. We wait to watch if 'Big Little Lies' sequel continues to explore the dark waters without popping the soapy bubbles. 2. True Detective - Season 3 The long-anticipated third season of the police drama debuts in January 2019. The show portrays the story of Detective Wayne Hays (Mahershala Ali) who worked on the case 35 years back. Wayne and his partner Roland West (Stephen Dorff) investigate the disappearance of two kids. via GIPHY The Oscar-winning actor Mahershala Ali leads a stripped-down cast of characters, with similar partner dynamics to Season 1, through a Southern setting and a time hopping mystery. Directed by Nic Pizzolatto, the third season looks far more interesting and we are already expecting a good number of twists this time. 3. Watchmen Damon Lindelof (the showrunner of HBO's 'Watchmen') believes that the series will be influenced by contemporary politics and would resonate much with the film version. This plot will introduce newer characters and an almost similar storyline. Based on the comic book by Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons, the American drama series may echo the lives of Trump or Putin. © Warner Bros The Oscar-winner Jeremy Irons portrays an older version of Adrian Veidt along with Emmy-Winner Jean Smart as FBI agent investigating the murder. Nearly a decade after the controversial film adaptation, this is one HBO show which is slated to open to an anticipated audience. 4. Euphoria 'Euphoria' is a teen drama starring actor-singer Zendaya. The series is written by Sam Levinson, with Drake and Future The Prince joining as the Executive Producers. Based on the Israeli series of the same name created by Ron Leshem, Euphoria follows a group of high school students as they navigate through drugs, ***, social media, depression, love and identity crisis. © HBO Directed by Augustine Frizzell, the ensemble cast includes Sydney Sweeney, Jacob Elordi, Maude Apatow, Storm Reid, Eric Dane, and Algee Smith to name a few. 5. Veep - Season 7 The Primetime Emmy Award Winner for Outstanding Comedy Series, 'Veep' will premiere in Spring 2019. Though, ostensibly an American version of the 'Thick of It', creator Armando Iannucci allowed a fresher look at the machinations of politics across the pond. via GIPHY This Political satire comedy series stars Julia Louis-Dreyfus who deftly essays the role of Selena Meyer, the Vice President of the United States (or "Veep") leading her to win five consecutive Golden Globe nominations and six consecutive Emmy awards. via GIPHY Also starring Anna Chlumsky (Chief of Staff) and Gary (Tony Hale), the series went on hiatus in 2017 after Julia was diagnosed with breast cancer, the series is making a comeback with its last chapter. Relish each episode as this is the final season of the HBO Comedy. 6. Barry - Season 2 Created by Alec Berg and Bill Hader, this series seamlessly amalgamates crime drama about contract killing, hits, and mobsters with a comedy about a lonely, lost guy who accidentally ends up on stage and happens to like it. Bill Hader stars as the title character, a hitman in the Midwest who moved to Los Angeles to indulge his acting aspirations. via GIPHY However, the best part of the show is Henry Winkler essaying the role of Bill's acting teacher who won his first-ever Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actor in Comedy Series. via GIPHY The first season won critical acclaim and strong ratings but left an unanswered question for the viewers, what happened to Detective Moss? The second season is back to explore that cliffhanger while the assassin-turned-actor protagonist keeps trying to put his bleak past behind him. 7. Chernobyl Produced by Sister Pictures and The Mighty Mint, 'Chernobyl' is the first HBO/Sky project to be greenlit through an international partnership to build a big-scale drama. This project was adopted under a $250 million multi-year co-production investment deal. via GIPHY Directed by Johan Renck, this series retells one of the world's worst manmade catastrophes, the explosion at the Chernobyl Nuclear Plant in Ukraine in 1986. via GIPHY Stellan Skarsgard plays Boris Shcherbina, the Soviet official charged with handling the fallout, Emily Watson is a nuclear scientist who wants to unveil the reason behind the explosion and Jared Harris plays Valery Legasov, the Soviet's man on the ground after the crisis. The series will outline how people tried to deal with the immediate aftermath and how it was planned to cover up. 8. Succession - Season 2 Jesse Armstrong's comedy-drama, 'Succession' Season 1 was undoubtedly a must watch series last year. Set in New York, the dysfunctional drama follows the dynasty's disintegration and is based on the lives of international media icons like Rupert Murdoch, Robert Maxwell and William Randolph Hearst. via GIPHY Brian Cox plays family patriarch Logan Roy, a broadcast magnate. In his quest to hand over his business to his first born Kendall (played by Jeremy Strong), it turns out that his son accidentally kills a waiter. Logan agrees to take care of the situation if Kendall quits his aggressive takeover plans. The second season is slated to pick up the aftermath of the first's finale and viewers can continue to enjoy the high family's antics on HBO. 9. Catherine The Great The first look at Oscar-winner Helen Mirren's historical limited series, 'Catherine the Great,' is promising. 'Catherine the Great' commanded supreme power throughout Russia for almost half of the 18th century and her reign was laced with political upheaval. The series displays her politically tumultuous rule coupled with her sexually charged court. © HBO Her passionate affair with Grigory Potemkin (Jason Clarke) comes into the frame too. Amid scandal, intrigue and immense conflict, they develop a devoted relationship, overcoming their adversaries and together serving as the architects of modern-day Russia. The drama has been written by Nigel Williams and directed by Philip Martin whose body of work includes 'Prime Suspect' and 'The Crown'. This is the latest project in the partnership between HBO and Sky. 10. Divorce - Season 3 Sarah Jessica Parker can easily take the credit of gifting HBO '*** and the City', which has remained one of the most popular shows ever. Years later she is set to bring the fans a treat as Frances, a woman in New York with a squabbling marriage. via GIPHY HBO has given a nod to 6-episode Season 3 of 'Divorce' and Sharon Horgan renders heartfelt touch to the drama. The plot develops when France's good friend Diane (Molly Shanon) fights with her husband Nick (Tracy Letts) at her 50th birthday party making Frances realize that she cannot allow her own marriage to turn this horrific. via GIPHY Both Horgan and Parker are intent on exploring the pain of a failed marriage. 'Divorce' is painfully accurate with the profound message that hope must be omnipresent, at least on the telly.
  17. After a 4-day long fashion extravaganza, the Lotus Make-Up India Fashion Week came to an end. The beautiful artistry involved in the skilful execution of all the garments, as well as the shows, transformed it into an affair to remember in the fashion fraternity. The big cherry on the cake, however, was the finale, which was a celebration of love. The show was dedicated to freedom - the freedom of choice that the LGBT community has only recently acquired because of the landmark ruling regarding the striking down of section 377. Here are 5 never-before-seen moments from the show, that made it one of the most iconic fashion shows ever: 1. For the first time ever, 40 designers came together to showcase their respective work, based on one single celebratory theme. The rainbow was the unifying factor and was presented in the form of 40 different, mindblowing outfits. © Viral Bhayani 2. From transgender models to gender-fluid outfits, everything that paves the way for a more inclusive society graced the stage with unmatched beauty. © Viral Bhayani © Viral Bhayani 3. From a conceptual view of art and design, there were some never before seen pieces. From Gaurav Gupta's illuminated dress to start off the show to Rajesh Pratap Singh's iconic white dress, that bled rainbow colours as it entered the runway, it was an artistic paradise. © Viral Bhayani © Viral Bhayani 4. Never before have we seen such positive energy on a ramp, when all 40 designers walked the ramp as well, accompanied by their respective models and creations. It's all in good fun though, and there are usually no hard feelings at the end of the match. After all, cricket is a gentleman's game. As we all saw, India beat Pakistan in all the Asia Cup matches this year, and some Pakistani fans even went as far as to troll their own cricket team because of their performance. I mean, if you can laugh at yourself, you have basically won at life. But, instead of turning to memes, one particular fan from Pakistan decided to cheer hard for India instead.
