  1. The fans of Indian cricket are livid ever since the International Cricket Council (ICC) has ordered the Board of Control for Cricket in India or the BCCI to remove the regiment badge of Indian Army's Para Special Forces unit from wicket keeper MS Dhoni's gloves. “We have requested the BCCI to get it removed,” Claire Furlong, the ICC General Manager, strategic communications was quoted as saying by the Times of India as according to the ICC regulations, “the ICC equipment and clothing regulations do not permit the display of messages that relate to political, religious or racial activities or causes during an international match.” The fact that Dhoni showing his respect for the servicemen of the nation does not promote any political, religious or racial agenda thereby should be self-explanatory and the apex cricket council should have no problems with the former World Champion's gesture, especially when the Indian Army shows no objection and supports him. #DhoniKeepTheGlove You are a cricketer, before that you are a soldier! Lt. Col. MSD pic.twitter.com/pjcslND7px — Samrat Jha (@samratorsam) June 7, 2019 Instead, as the ultimate caretaker of the game of cricket and carrying out a smooth execution of matches worldwide, the ICC must focus on things that more so much more than what non-controversial symbol a player is wearing on his wicket keeping gloves, horrible and amateurish umpiring being one of them. Take the World Cup match between Australia and the West Indies for that matter. The umpires who evidently got intimidated by the prolonged Australian appeals gave out some pretty awful decisions against the Windies side that eventually caused them the game. Opening batsman Chris Gayle and skipper Jason Holder, both fell prey to incorrect decisions by the umpires twice only to be saved by the third umpire. The fact that on-field umpire missed out on a massive no-ball delivered by Aussie bowler Mitchell Starc and Chris Gayle was dismissed on the next ball which would have been a free hit had the previous delivery been rightfully called as overstepping did not help make the officials' case any better. Dear @ICC, Instead of focussing on MS Dhoni's gloves better focus on improving the quality of umpires. 4 decisions overturned so far in today's game + a huge No Ball miss that costed Chris Gayle's wicket. We have better umpires in our gully cricket. #DhoniKeepTheGlove #CWC19 https://t.co/EqeYYYDLUt pic.twitter.com/YTjB5ThcNK — Sir Jadeja fan (@SirJadeja) June 6, 2019 "To lose Chris in a chase of 280, who can probably get 180 of them himself obviously, broke the start that we wanted to have,” Carlos Brathwaite told reporters after the match. Jamaican cricketing legend Michael Holding who was commentating on television sounded extremely frustrated with the kind of officiating that was happening in front of his eyes. “The umpiring in this game has been atrocious,” Holding said. So the question that now arises is why the ICC is not concerned about the bad umpiring that has been ruining World Cup matches for some of the best teams in the international circuit and focused on one player's gloves?
  2. There are still many people out there who think that heavy lifting is only for bodybuilders and 'meat bags'. The weight training section of an average gym is still occupied with people whose primary target for training is hypertrophy or gaining muscles. However, this is a big misconception amongst people and I am going to tell you why. Heavy weight training complements your training no matter what your target for training is. You could be training for endurance, strength or just normal routine fitness levels, heavy weight training is still the best way to get there. Here are a few reasons why you should be going heavy in your weights. You Get Stronger Heavy weight training increases the power and strength of your muscles and adds significant muscle fibers as well. This means that you will be able to do every day physical tasks with more ease than before. Consistent training will increase the amount of weight that you can lift and will thus make you more efficient in your daily chores as well. You will feel that you need to put in less effort to do the same physical work every day. You Look Younger © MensXP Health Strength training with heavy weights enhances your muscle mass and definition and thus you start looking younger than your actual age. You must have seen that people who dedicatedly stay in shape throughout the year look much younger than their counterparts who don't workout at all. Now if you include heavy weight training in your daily workout routine, you will be able put on some decent muscle mass on your body which will make it look in better shape. If you fear that you will start looking like a meat bag by lifting heavy weight, you don't have to worry. Those athletes that you see on the cover of a bodybuilding magazine are not something that you become just with some heavy weight training and protein shakes. You need shit load of drugs to look anywhere near that. You Burn More Fat Muscle mass is metabolically more active than fat cells in your body. A guy with more muscle mass will burn more calories even if he is sitting idle. It is because your body will have to burn more calories even to maintain the muscle mass that you have put on already. Lifting heavy helps you to build more muscle mass and thus you become metabolically more active. This in turn helps your body to burn more fat in short as well as long term. Thus, even if your target is to burn more fat, heavy weight training is the most apt way to do it. © MensXP Health It Prevents Injuries In The Long Run Heavy weight training strengthens more than just your muscles; it also strengthens your bones and connective tissues. This added strength and stability and will help you ward off injuries and keep a strong body in the long run. You may find it hard to believe but even sportsmen who play cricket or lawn tennis or any other sport perform good weight training to maintain good bone density.
  3. After nearly a month of public humiliation and hate speeches by cricketers and fans alike, which eventually led to massive self-loathing by Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul for their juvenile comments at Bollywood director and actor Karan Johar's talkshow, Koffee With Karan, the Board of Cricket Control in India or BCCI's Committee of Administration, has finally decided to lift the ban on the young stars of the Indian cricket team on Thursday. © Instagram "The Committee of Administrators ("CoA") had, by emails dated 11.01.2019, and in exercise of Rule 41(6) of the Constitution of BCCI, suspended Mr. Hardik Pandya and Mr. K.L. Rahul in view of the allegations of misconduct against them, pending adjudication of the allegations under Rule 46 of the approved BCCI Constitution," the CoA said in a press release. "Since the adjudication of all allegations of misconduct against any cricketer registered with, inter alia, the BCCI is required to be undertaken by the BCCI Ombudsman, whose appointment is pending directions of the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India, the CoA is the of the view that the interim suspension orders dated 11.01.2019 should be presently lifted with immediate effect. "The above matter and decision has been taken with the concurrence of the Learned Amicus Curiae, Mr. P.S. Narasimha. In view of the above, the suspension orders dated 11.01.2019 is immediately lifted pending appointment and adjudication of the allegations by the BCCI Ombudsman," the release said. With the ban now lifted, pacer Hardik Pandya has now been asked to join the Men in Blue for the ongoing ODI series in New Zealand which India lead 1-0 following a brilliant bowling attack by Mohammed Shami and Kuldeep Yadav. ICYMI: India all-rounder Hardik Pandya will join the side on their ongoing #NZvIND tour. DETAILS â¬ï¸https://t.co/5MQdubt3w8 pic.twitter.com/nR3nd1T9RY — ICC (@ICC) January 25, 2019 KL Rahul, who was going through a major struggle on the crease even before the ban took place, during the Border-Gavaskar Test series in Australia, has also been given the opportunity to regain his confidence by joining Rishabh Pant in the India A squad, scheduled to take on the England Lions in a three-game one-dayers in Trivandrum. Karan Johar on the other hand showed his relief upon hearing the fortunate news for the two of India's finest. "I am so happy to hear that the ban has been lifted. I am so relieved and grateful. They deserved another chance. I am glad that the Board has given them this chance," Johar expressed as reported by The Times of India. Whatever the duo said during the show was wrong, there are no two ways about it but, they have paid for more than what they had bargained for during their banned-stint in India. What is of essence is the fact that both Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul are exceptional cricketers and their presence in the Indian roster for the upcoming 2019 ICC World Cup may be crucial.
