  1. Shaving might seem to be an extremely simple affair, but it's not. Every man has had bad experiences with shaving, at least once in his life, and it definitely is one of those experiences that one does not want a repeat of. (c) Getty Images There is a correct way and a wrong way to shave, but the trouble is that no one quite knows which is which. You're supposed to glide your razor across your face in a specific direction, that has to do with the usual hair growth pattern on a human male face. Following that pattern will reduce cuts and burns significantly, and also make sure that the stubble that grows afterwards is flawless. (c) Getty Images All you need to do is look at the face shave map here, and follow the arrows to determine the direction in which your razor should move. Make sure to rinse your razor after every stroke. (c) MensXP Say hello to a flawless shave! You're welcome.
  2. A well-shaved face is the mark of a true gentleman. Shaving is an art in itself, we believe, and if you do it right, there's nothing classier than a clean shaved man. But every art-form has its struggles, and shaving comes with its own set of problems too. Improper shaving can cause a lot of issues, the most annoying being razor burns. © livestrong Razor burns not only look bad but their counterpart, the razor bumps that follow, itch like crazy and leave a trail of redness. But there's nothing some extra care and proper shaving technique can't battle. Follow these golden rules of shaving to bid adieu to those nasty razor burns: 1. Prep Your Skin © Dherbs To get a good shave, the best time to do it is after a hot shower. The steam softens your skin and facial hair. Steam also opens up pores in your skin which help in reducing ingrown hair, which cause razor-burns. Using a conditioner on your facial hair helps soften it even more, making way for smooth AF skin post shaving. Also, exfoliation is necessary so that you have a clean, smooth surface to work with. It also helps get rid of teeny-tiny hair that clogs the pores and results in razor-burns. 2. Shave Along The Direction Of Hair-Growth © mandatory Most men usually shave against the direction of hair-growth. You get a close shave indeed, but you also risk cutting up your face and causing razor burn. Shaving with the grain will reduce the chances of irritation and won't cause razor bumps and ingrown hair. Don't forget to lather up your shaving cream well. A simple step that'll just take just five extra minutes, can do wonders for your shaving routine. 3. Clean Your Razor Blade With Alcohol © asuperiorshave Razor burn and skin irritation, result from bacteria on your shaving blade. Wipe down your razor blade using some rubbing alcohol pre-shaving. Commonly available at several drugstores, rubbing alcohol is the important hygiene step your shaving routine lacks in. Bonus advice, if you didn't know already, cleaning your blade after every stroke is super important as it helps to make a clean cut and prevents chafing. 4. Towel Dry Shaving Brush & Razor Post-Shave © livestrong Dry off your razor blade with a clean towel. This way, your blades won't go dull super quick and will last longer. Wet shaving brushes can house bacteria, which will end up on your face and cause acne, irritation and razor bumps. Clean your brushes well and hang them to air-dry every time you shave. 5. Apply A Shaving Balm Or Moisturizer © netpics You might have used an aftershave all your life, but it does not provide your skin with the moisture it needs. Aftershaves can actually add to the irritation your skin is facing for a few of you out there. Shaving dries out your skin, and what you need is a shaving balm or an aloe vera-based cream/gel. It'll help reduce the redness and help your skin retain its moisture. Voila! Keep these golden rules in mind the next time you shave to achieve that buttery smooth skin texture that women love.
  3. If we go down the whole inclusive narrative (which is the correct thing to do tbh), all smiles are beautiful. However, anyone who denies that they have not desired pearl-white teeth at some point or the other in their life, they're simply lying. White teeth are attractive not only because of their aesthetic appeal, they are also an indicator of good dental hygiene, which is in fact a desirable thing. Keeping that in mind, we have listed out 5 super effective home remedies that will help one get visibly whiter teeth in less than a month's time. 1. Oil Pulling © Shine365 Oil pulling is done by taking a teaspoonful of oil in your mouth, swishing it around for 15-20 minutes, and then spitting it out. It's an ancient technique that detoxifies your body, starting with the mouth. 2. Drinking less tea/coffee and quitting smoking © Yournewswire Quitting smoking will considerably decrease nicotine staining. Excessive consumption of coffee, tea, and strong dark sodas also stain your teeth, the effects of which can be long term. Everyone should make a conscious attempt to avoid these food items. 3. Brushing with baking soda © Orawellness Baking soda has natural whitening properties, and is a natural abrasive. Plus, it helps in creating an alkaline environment in your mouth, thereby restricting bacterial growth. All of these result in whiter teeth. 4. Eating fruits like apple, papaya, and pineapple © Health and Mind Care Enzymes found in these fruits will naturally help whiten your teeth, on regular consumption. 5. Brushing and flossing © Markham Dental Centre This one seems basic, but it's the most important step. Teeth staining happen mainly because of food stuck in your mouth for a long time. Brush properly (with vertical movement for your front teeth in a way that cleans the crevices) twice and day, and never go to bed without brushing post dinner. Flossing once a day will make sure food is not stuck in between your teeth, and will also take care of excess plaque.
  4. One of the most annoying things about travelling is lugging around your suitcases at Airports. You need to carry it everywhere with you and sometimes, it's a major cause for fatigue. However, now this could become a thing of the past, as this new 'smart suitcase' is designed to follow you and can also avoid collisions with obstacles on its own accord. © Ovis The smart suitcase is made by a Chinese company called ForwardX and is known as Ovis. It was unveiled last year at CES and has come back to the show with some major improvements. It uses an array of sensors that allow it to follow or stay by the side of its owner. These sensors also aid the suitcase in avoiding collisions with obstacles or other people. It works using Artificial Intelligence to ensure that the suitcase is never left behind too far. You even switch to the manual mode in case you need to take it through security, escalators and stairs. © Ovis The suitcase even has GPS tracking embedded, so that owners can track Ovis if misplaced. Ovis is also approved by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) which makes it easier for travellers to use on flights, however, it still depends on various airlines whether they allow it on their aircraft or not. In the event of losing the suitcase, the Ovis comes with a smart wristband that vibrates when your luggage is more than 2m away. That's a neat feature that comes in handy, as there can be instances where the smart suitcase could fall or when it runs out of battery. The suitcase is expected to be available in the first half of 2019 with a retail price of $799 (Rs 56,420).
  5. So, 2018 is quickly drawing to a close, which means that it's officially time to start making your New Year resolutions. One such resolution that's usually near the top of such lists has to do with being more healthy, and one of the healthiest changes you can make to your lifestyle, is to take up running. However, while it's much more hassle-free than joining a gym, it still requires more than a pair of running shoes and a willingness to sweat. To really get the most out of running regularly, there are a few things you need to know about before you even take your first stride. So, to help you adopt and stick to this healthy lifestyle change, here are a few basic tips that will help you kick-start your journey the right way, stay on track, and reap the rewards when you do get out there: 1. Visualise A Finish Line © Official Instagram: Milind Soman The first thing to do after you decide to start running is to set yourself a target to work towards. It could be a race you want to participate in, such as a marathon or a sprint. It could even be a specific time you want to beat or a particular distance you want to master. Keeping a goal in mind not only helps keep you motivated, but it also dictates your training pattern, nutrition regime and the kind of running equipment you should purchase to keep track of your progress. However, just because you hit your target doesn't mean you've reached the end of your journey. They say that every finish line is the start of a new race, so once you achieve your initial goal, the next thing to do is to set yourself a new one. 2. 'Gear Up' In The Right Way © Pixabay There's a lot of equipment that will help you along the way, but the most important piece you need to purchase is the right pair of running shoes. And no, just grabbing the most comfortable pair of shoes will not do - you need proper running shoes. Why, do you ask? Well, unlike your other trainers, running shoes are designed to allow your foot to strike the ground in such a way that it reduces the impact that travels up your leg. They're also designed to fit your feet snugly so that they don't slip and slide when you're on the move or cause any painful blisters on your feet. Don't just go into the store and buy the first pair that looks cool or go by brand name alone - take the time to find the pair that's perfect for you. It might require a little more time and effort, and take a chunk out of your wallet, but it'll reduce the risk of suffering common and painful injuries, making it totally worth it in the long run (pun intended!). Pro tip: If you're on an incredibly tight budget, you check out the best running shoes under Rs. 1000 for men. 3. Find The Perfect Track © Official Instagram: Milind Soman Once you're fully equipped to head out on your runs, the next thing to do is to figure out where you can run. A treadmill might be your first thought, but outdoor running is always a better option since treadmills 'pull' the ground under your feet and don't involve any wind resistance. This makes running somewhat easier, meaning you won't be able to enjoy the same results as outdoor running. The ideal running track is soft (think grass-covered), scenic, well-lit and free of traffic. This might be more of a task if you live in the city where space is limited, so mapping out a running track in a nearby park might be your best option. It's a good idea to consult other runners about the routes they prefer because you might find places you had overlooked before or didn't even know existed. 4. Fuel Yourself Correctly © Pixabay You might have heard your favourite athlete talk about how pasta and other carb-rich foods are an important part of their pre-match routine, but this does not give you a free pass to pile pasta on your plate! A clean, healthy diet is enough to fuel you when you're starting off. The time for strict dieting comes only when you're training seriously for a marathon or another competitive race. Hydration is another important factor for a runner, and many runners tend to overdo it. The important thing is to resist the urge to gulp down lots of water before you run because drinking excessive amounts of fluid doesn't serve any purpose. Instead, focus on drinking only when you're feeling thirsty. 5. Persistence Pays Off © Pexels Staying motivated is another aspect most beginners struggle with, which is why so many running regimes seem to get off to a promising beginning only to fizzle out midway. If you're just starting out, you should prepare yourself for sore legs and maybe even a sore back. This doesn't mean running is bad for you - it simply means that your body isn't used to the physical activity. So don't hang up your running shoes at the first signs of soreness, because the aches and pains WILL settle down eventually!
  6. Winter is 'the gaining season', and no, I am not going back on my words when I told you earlier that you can gain and cut anytime irrespective of what season it is. However, you would agree with me that majority of the people who follow fitness religiously, prefer winters to bulk up and for summers to cut down. So, today let me tell you the only 3 tips that you need to follow for 'The Winter Bulk'. 1) Count Your Macros © Pinterest Yes, you can't get away with this. Just because you are bulking, it doesn't mean that you will add any random food item that comes your way into your diet. People who do so, are the ones who complain of adding too much fat during their bulk. The purpose is to gain muscle mass with minimum fat gain. Now, there are various methods to calculate your calorie intake, but this time, I will give you a very simple formula. Take your weight in pounds and multiply it with 18. For example, if you weight 70Kgs which is approximately 154lb, then your calorie intake will be 154 multiplied by 18 which is equal to 2772. Now, I am not saying that this is the most scientific way to calculate the required calories but I know that a majority of you won't make any efforts to make the calculation, if I gave you a complicated equation. You will atleast get a rough idea of your calorie intake through this simple method. 2) Choose Your Macros Wisely © Thinkstock Now, when have you the calorie calculations in your hand, you need to find out how much of each macro you need to have and what will be the source of each macro. First, let's talk about protein, as protein is the macronutrient that's going to help you build muscles. I am going to take an upper limit here which would be taking per gram protein per pound of body weight. So that would come down to approximately 154gms of protein. The calories that will come from protein will be 154x4=616. Now let's calculate the fat intake. Take one gram of fat per kg of weight. In our example, that would come down to 70gms of fat. Calories from fat will be 70x9=630. Now, the left over calories 2772(Total) – 616(Protein)+630(Fat)=1526 will come from carbs. Since a gram of carb has 4 calories, the total grams of carbs will be 1526/4= 381. The overall macro ratio of carbs, protein and fat will be approx 55:22:22, which is a good ratio for gaining muscles. A good source of carbs will be the ones that have a low GI and are carb-dense like sweet potato, oats, brown rice, chapati, quinoa, beans, whole wheat bread and pasta. Lean source of protein include chicken, eggs, tofu, whey protein, milk etc. Fat can come from nuts, nuts butter, olive oil and coconut oil, cheese etc. 3) Progressive Overload Training © Pixabay You will hear lots of stuff about the reps that you should be performing in a set to gain muscles. I am not going to get into the details of those, but I am just going to suggest you a rep range that will help you to gain muscles. You can't measure the exact number or reps that will give you the best results, but you can definitely follow a rep range to gain muscles. I recommend a rep range of 6 to 8 reps with progression overload. Progression overload means that you add certain amount of weight every week in your lifts to create that stimulus in your muscles for growth. The body will only build new muscle fibers when they are constantly put against an increased resistance. Thus, try to follow a rep range of 6 to 8 and try increasing the resistance every week as the rep range increases. 7. Fitness has been a popular industry in 2018. It has become lucrative to be a part of it, as people are endlessly spending their money on fitness products and services like coaching, supplements, personal training, etc. At the same time, charlatans have made quick profit as well, as their sole purpose is to mislead people and take their money. They go to extremes like launching a Ketogenic Whey Protein to injecting steroids in young kids who want to build some muscle or lose some fat. Like every cloud has a silver lining, there are still sensible, helpful, and smart people in the industry who genuinely want to help people out giving the right information. If you do not want to go down the rabbit hole of misinformation and potentially hurt yourself in the name of fitness, you need to follow these accounts today (in no particular order). 1. Spencer Nadolsky (@drnadolsky) View this post on Instagram Want to have a doc who can help you with your blood sugars, cholesterol, and blood pressure through lifestyle changes? I'm right here. Not only that but I'll actually have time to spend with you since I got out of the regular inefficient medical system. - Right now you go to your doctor and you get about 10 minutes with them. They tell you what you already know. You already know you need to eat better. You know you need to do more physical activity and you understand that your weight may be causing some of your issues. Problem is, the doc probably doesn't know how to help you and if they do, they don't even have enough time. - So here's the deal, @steadymd asked me a couple years ago to start taking patients via online to help with this madness. I've capped myself around 220 patients for about a year now but I'm opening it up to more (about 30 more). - How does it work? You pay 99 bucks a month and you get an initial hour long video consult with me. I have my license in most states now. Sorry rest of the world I don't have power elsewhere. - After the initial hour long consult where I get to know you, I can order labs and even medicines if you need refills (no controlled meds through the internet like adderall or testosterone sorry). You then have access to me via your phone or computer similar to text messaging. - We do not take insurance. This allows us to spend time on you without the insurance hassles. - How can I do physical exams? Technically I don't. I can do most things I need through talking to you and looking at labs but there are new cool gadgets I can recommend that allow me to listen to your heart and lungs better than if I were in the office with you. - Who is this for? This is perfect for those who have blood sugar/pressure/cholesterol issues along with hypothyroidism. Those tend to be the patients that love it most. I have gotten many patients off their sugar and pressure meds using lifestyle. - You will also have the option of adding on my amazing nutrition coach for an extra fee once you sign up. - I wouldn't sign up if you're healthy and don't have an extra $99 a month. - Ready to start? click link in bio to sign up A post shared by Spencer Nadolsky (@drnadolsky) on Nov 23, 2018 at 7:28am PST An obesity medicine physician by profession, Dr. Nadolsky has the necessary education and the experience to deal with issues related to weight and obesity. 8. You go to the gym and tell the trainer that you want to get in shape. Maybe even get lean or ripped. They will say that you need to go on a diet. This part is correct. But the misery they put you through is one of the worst things that can happen to anyone. These things are: 1. A boiled food diet. Your taste buds will die a slow death. All you get to eat are foods like boiled chicken, steamed fish, oats, etc. You justify it by saying you eat food for function and not for taste. You also find stupid fitness quotes like 'No pain, No gain' motivating and relatable to your situation. 2. A ketogenic diet. The new blue-eyed baby of schmucks who say deluded stuff like 'I train your trainer.' Essentially, carbs are the reason two world wars happened, cancer happened, and the reason humans cannot fly. Carbs are the reason for all things wrong with the world. You must avoid it. Basically, these schools of thought are plain idiotic. You do not need to swing to any extremes if you want to get lean or shredded. Here are five things you should do instead: 1. Count Your Calories © Thinkstock The laws of thermodynamics dictate a change in your body weight. You eat more calories than you expend, you gain weight. You eat fewer calories than you expend and you lose weight. It all comes down to this. Any dietary pattern that you follow, any macro ratio you eat, whether you eat high carbs or high fat, in the end, it doesn't even matter if it does not put you in a caloric deficit. 2. Eat More Protein © YouTube Protein or amino acids are the building blocks of your muscle tissue. If you want more muscle, you need higher rates of muscle protein synthesis. Muscle protein synthesis is the process through which your body synthesizes more muscle tissue. Target anywhere between 1.8 to 2.2 grams of protein per kilo of your body weight. 3. Eat Your Fruits And Vegetables Your mom used to tell you this as a kid. Eat your greens and fruits. You did not back then. You don't even now. Fruits and veggies will ensure you are eating enough fiber for the day. It will keep you full, help you have good gut health, and provide you with micronutrients like vitamins and minerals. There is no downside to it. 4. Embrace Flexible Dieting © Thinkstock Flexible dieting, simply put, is a mindset. A mindset that helps you see food as it is, nutritious and helps you towards your goals or non-nutritious and takes you further away from your goal. You stop seeing food as good or bad. You do not swing into diet days and cheat days which is more harmful. Read this piece. You eat highly nutritious food most of the time with a little less nutritious food sometimes that helps you stay on track. 5. Stop Believing That You Need A Lot Of Supplements If you go to buy a supplement for a particular goal today, the industry has developed so much stupid stuff that they can sell you one for anything. A majority of these supplements are often useless. Supplements that can be beneficial for everyone are whey protein, caffeine, and creatine monohydrate. That's it. No BCAAs, no fat burners, etc. Read this for more info on this. Start doing these things in 2019 and get in shape. Not waste another year spinning your wheels. 9. Office- going folks often complain a lot about their weight problems. Some of the usual excuses are: "I do not have the time to exercise." "I cannot eat 6 meals in a day." "I have a slow metabolism." "I cannot follow the GM diet." etc….. Well, fat loss is not easy to achieve. I get that. But it does not have to be as complicated as you make it with those statements above. Fun fact: You don't need to do anyting mentioned in the statements above if you want to lose weight. How Does Weight Loss Happen? Your body needs a certain number of calories to maintain its weight. You have to eat lesser than that number to start losing weight. How To Calculate This Number? © Thinksticok An easy way to calculate the fat loss calories is to multiply your body weight x 24. Or you can use any of the innumerable calculators available online. For example, an 80-kilo guy can start eating 80x24 = 1920 calories to start losing weight. Obviously, this number will change with time as you lose weight. You do not need to follow any specific special diet or eat 6 times a day to boost metabolism. All you need to focus on is eating this calorie number consistently. Install a calorie counting app and feed in what you eat throughout the day. If it is going above this, you need to cut back on food. How Many Meals Per Day? As many as you are comfortable with. Do you like eating 3 meals? Eat 3 meals. Do you like eating 6 meals? Eat 6 meals. As long as you stick to the calorie number, it is all that matters. © Pixabay How Do I Exercise? I Cannot Go To The Gym 6 Days A Week. You do not need to. Just take care of a few things if you want to look good after losing weight: 1. Lift weights over doing just cardio. 2. Select exercises that work your whole body or more muscle groups and not just stick to bicep curls. 3. Exercise each body part at least two times per week. 4. Get stronger at those exercises. Need a 3-day plan with which you can kickstart your journey? Read this article. I Do Not Want To Take Fat Burners Or Fat Loss Pills. Are They Needed? No. They are not. Most supplements in the fitness industry are a bust and pretty pointless. They just give out fake promises and take your money. Do I Need Any Supplements? No again. Are there some supplements that can benefit you? Yes. And they are: 1. Whey protein 2. Caffeine 3. Creatine Again, they do not do anything magical or help you achieve your goals overnight. They benefit you in a certain way which I have covered in detail in this article. Oh, and guess what? Even if you buy 3 of these and use it, it will not cost you over 100 Rupees per day. How Long Do I Need To Do This? Good question. The simplest answer would be; 'as long as it takes.' As a lot of factors play a role in this and it is a very subjective thing. If you want to speed things up or want consistent results, you might benefit working with a coach 1-1. To Sum It Up: 1. Eat fewer calories 2. Lift weights 3. Get stronger 4. Do it consistently Author bio: Pratik Thakkar is the co-founder and director of GetSetGo Fitness, an online fitness company. He is regarded as someone who will make it easy for you to understand the process by putting things in the right context and providing science-based recommendations for natural bodybuilding. 10. As part of my profession, I take close to 100 flights a year. It is always visibly disturbing to see everyone so well behaved on board. This paints a very bland and depressing scene thousands of feet above the sea level. I have often sensed the inner urge of certain passengers to freely express themselves and endear their magnificent personalities on their neighbours. This article elaborates ten golden commandments you can follow to be highly appreciated by your neighbours on a flight; especially the ones that depart before sunrise: Rule #1: Thou Shall Be The King Of All You Survey For generations, we have been programmed to control our territory. It is an insult to your manliness if a co-passenger invades your allocated territory. The best practice always suggests that you take complete control of armrests on either side without conceding an inch. If you are really in the mood, you should ensure your elbow pokes into your neighbour's soft protruding belly! Rule #2: Thou Shall Always Be On 911 Mode The world is progressing at a very fast pace. And for all of us, time is money! Hence it is imperative you manage every second onboard efficiently. I highly recommend that you start taking calls as soon as the aircraft lands and barge your way through to collect your luggage before everyone else. Even if it damages someone else's bag...or head, it is understandable. What if a Fortune 500 CEO ends up calling you in the 5 minutes you are on the aircraft after it lands? Rule #3: Thou Shall Use The Washroom The Way You Used It During Your Hostel Days Certain passengers seem very fond of the washroom on flights. They seem to not let go of the washroom. In light of this warrior spirit, it is advisable that you bang hard on the washroom door screaming, “jaldi karo bhai, kitna time lagega” and then lock your self up inside for the purpose of meditation. To fondly remember your college days, you should treat the washroom the way you maintained it during your hostel days! Rule #4: Thou Shall Repeatedly Call The Air-Hostess Most airlines pride themselves on providing best in class customer service. But airlines should not take this premium imagery for granted. Hence, as a responsible customer, you should repeatedly call the air-hostess to check if she is still up to the mark. Ask her for yesterday's newspaper, ask her for mouth freshener, ask her for cotton earbuds, ask her for tissue paper, ask her if she can explain the evacuation instructions in Bhojpuri. If nothing else, ask her for a selfie with you! Rule #5: Thou Shall Watch A Movie Without The Earphones On © Hope Productions Entertainment is best relished when it is enjoyed by all and sundry. Your co-passengers will be highly appreciative if you play the latest episode of 'CID' featuring ACP Pradyuman at full volume without speakers. After all, who doesn't like a little thrill early morning? Rule #6: Thou Shall Constantly Feel Lighter In Air After the gymnasium, the flight is the most appropriate place to feel lighter in the air. Repeatedly attempting to relieve gas accumulated in your alimentary canal is a great way to lose weight 35,000 feet above sea level. In addition, it has the added benefit of all your co-passengers knowing what you had for dinner - garlic, onion, radish, mutton! Rule #7: Thou Shall Burp, Belch & Yawn Repeatedly Actually, there are other ways to relieve yourself in addition to the above. With the right discipline of belching, burping and yawning every 90 seconds; your body is guaranteed to feel light by a couple of pounds before you arrive on land. It is advisable to burp and belch in a rhythmic pattern so that they resemble the latest Honey Singh blockbuster. After all, everyone would love to experience a live Honey Singh performance! Rule #8: Thou Shall Make Your Neighbours Smell Your Aromatic Socks A great anonymous writer once said, “A man is known by the stinky socks he keeps.” There is no better way for a man to express his personality on a flight other than by removing his shoes and making his co-passengers smell his aromatic socks. After all, who doesn't like the smell of rotting onion combined with dog poop? Who knows, if the stars are aligned, Calvin Klein might select it for its next line of perfumes! Rule #9: Thou Shall Peep Into Your Neighbour's Laptop Knowledge is omnipresent and everyone is a source of learning! With this gospel truth in mind, you should always peep into your neighbour's laptop repeatedly to understand the industry and the work they are up to. Who knows, your neighbour might have quality inside information which you are missing out on? Rule #10: Thou Shall Attempt To Play Agony Aunt To Your Neighbour The world is very depressed. Everyone should do their bit to make the world a better place. As a result, it is always advisable to lend an empathetic shoulder to your neighbour. If you see a lady in her late 20s without an engagement ring, she will always appreciate if you ask her “abhi tak bachche nahin huain?” In conclusion, it is not easy to be a difficult pesky co-passenger. But with the right amount of dedication and blind faith to the above commandments, it is only a matter of time before your inner dream is realised! 11. We all go through the phase where we are looking for company but not exactly looking for company. Getting me? You might be finding it confusing, so let me rephrase that. Sometimes in our life, we crave for intimacy but don't exactly want a relationship. via GIPHY To get over this phase, some people have one night stands while some find solace in friends. However, some go for a relationship which is not exactly a relationship. They enter into something casual which usually has just one rule (and we sure can talk about it, unlike fight club): nothing serious! via GIPHY If you just had a breakup, or need a break from singlehood without having to commit, a casual relationship is a great idea. It provides you with the break which you need, you get a new friend, and of course, who doesn't like to get laid? But maintaining a casual relationship isn't as simple as it sounds. If you are in one such relationship then keep in mind that contrary to the popular belief, there is more than just one rule to keep the relationship in the complication-free zone. 1. There's No Space for Jealousy Irrespective of whether you're exclusively (but casually) involved or in an open relationship, there's no space for jealousy in such relationships. Your partner is free to date/hangout/party with whomever they want and you have no right to question it. via GIPHY The “who were you talking to at 1 in the night?” doesn't work here. If you're the jealous kind who hates the idea of your partner being even slightly involved with someone else, then a casual relationship isn't for you. 2. They Can't be Available All the Time When you're in a serious relationship, you expect your partner to be there for you whenever you need. But when you're in a casual relationship, expecting the same is naïve. via GIPHY A casual relationship is not an 'in sickness and in health' relationship. It is being there with each other to have a good time. That's it! Don't expect anything more than that. Make yourself understand that you might be their last priority. 3. Tell Them If You Start Developing Feelings First of all, you shouldn't break the very first rule of a casual relationship by falling for them. But, we're human and at times, we don't have control over our feelings. If you find yourself breaking this very basic rule, tell your partner. via GIPHY It's important because they might not be on the same page and things would become complicated if they actually aren't. Don't wait for too long hoping that they might start feeling the same. You might get hurt. 4. Don't Expect Pillow Talk Expecting the lovey-dovey messages, mushy talks, or good morning texts is a big NO-NO! You're in a casual relationship, so, keep it casual. Meet & talk when you both are free, have a good time and then get busy with your lives. via GIPHY Speaking of life, get one! Don't make them your world. A casual relationship is not at all about spending all the time together. It's about having a good time when you're free. 5. Split The Bill It goes for every relationship actually but is mandatory when you're in a casual relationship. Don't let your partner pay all the time. via GIPHY You don't need to split every bill, but you should pay alternately. It would keep things simple. The next time you enter into a casual relationship, keep these in mind. In fact, it is also good if you make your own rules by discussing your partner. After all, You wouldn't want a complicated relationship, would you?
  12. November is here, and so is Movember. This month is going to be all about facial hair, and for a noble cause. Those who anyway like keeping a beard, perhaps this month doesn't make all that difference, but for those who prefer a clean shaven look but would want to try growing their facial hair out - but feeling hesitant about it, we have some kickass inspiration. Here are 7 Indian models whose facial hair game will surely inspire you to go ahead and grow that beard. 1. Dushyant Singh Raghuvanshi © Instagram/Dushyant Singh Raghuvanshi If you are a fan of the quintessential edgy, structured beard, Dushyant's beard is pretty much the benchmark. 2. Nitin Chauhan © Instagram/Nitin Chauhan Nitin has the long, princely beard that reminds us of the royalty. Go ahead, it's perfect for Diwali. (Though you'll probably get that length by about Holi.) 3. Umesh Gulia © MensXP If you want a beard that's intimidating yet classy, Umesh's beard should be your inspiration. 4. Rouhallah Gazi © Instagram/Rouhallah Gazi A full, thick, healthy beard should be on every man's 'must-grow' list. Just like this beard here. 5. Prateek Jain © Instagram/Prateek Jain Sometimes, a badass beard can make you look otherworldly, almost mystical. Exhibit A. 6. Saud Hasan Khan © Instagram/Saud Hasan Khan If you want to get the entire limelight focused on your beard, sport it with a fade, just like Saud. 7. Prathamesh Maulingkar © Instagram/Prathamesh Maulingkar You don't necessarily need a long beard for it to be called an amazing beard. Prathamesh's beard is the perfect example.
  13. Diwali is just around the corner, and that means a lot of fun, a lot of eating, a lot of socialising, and a lot of partying. With all this happening, you need to make sure you look your best on Diwali, and we are here to tell you exactly how to do that. It's not just wearing a blingy kurta, or copying a celeb's look completely. It means making sure you look your best, your skin doesn't look tired from all the partying, and you look polished and groomed overall. So here are 5 tips on how to look your best, this Diwali season: 1. Pick An Outfit That Works For YOU © Official Instagram/ Raj Kummar Rao There are a lot of lookbooks, and celeb-inspired style guides out there, and for good reason. A lot of our favourite celebs have upped their style game, and have professional stylists working for them, so the looks they sport are expertly curated and styled, and look great. But what you have to remember is the exact same thing won't necessarily work for you. So, instead of blindly copying a look, get inspired by celeb looks, or try to incorporate elements that you like. Go for looks by celebs that are more your body type and height. And if you are unsure, or don't want to do all this, a well-fitted kurta is always an ideal go-to for Diwali. 2. Accessorise Well © Official Instagram/ Shahid Kapoor In these times of over-styling, sometimes a lot of us tend to go overboard. While ethnic wear for women can mean a lot of accessorising, for men, it is sort of the opposite for men. Too many elements can ruin a look, just as too many cooks tend to ruin a broth. So, pick your accessories with care. For example, if you want to wear a Nehru coat or a jacket, then make sure the colours or prints of the outfit are not too overpowering. If you want to pull off a dhoti, then keep the rest on the simpler side. Sometimes, even a great watch adds just enough of a touch to not require any other accessories. 3. Get Your Beard And Hair Game On © Official Instagram/ Ranveer Singh Grooming is obviously a very big part of getting a look right. The perfectly put-together look is more than just the pieces you sport, it also requires paying attention to your hair, and beard. A great outfit can be ruined by a shabby haircut or an unkempt beard. We are not saying you need to get a laser cut beard, but taking out time and going for a haircut, style, and a beard trim is essential. And once your stylist has helped you craft the look that works (remember that you are going to be wearing a lot of ethnic and fusion wear, ask for a style accordingly) keep it styled and neat at home. Something as simple as keeping a trimmer, some beard accessories and some hair products handy, goes a long way. 4. Don't Ignore Skin Care © Instagram/ Isha Bhansali Most men totally forget about this part, and honestly, it is a pretty important part. All the late nights, partying, oily food, drinks, and exhaustion tend to show on your skin and under your eyes. So, taking care of your skin is actually a pretty essential part of looking your best during the festival season. Aside from a good face wash and a face scrub, use a face serum as well. If you are prone to acne, then use anti-acne therapies, such as products with tea tree or neem. Also, use an under-eye cream to keep the tiredness from showing. And as a final step, you can get a face mist to quickly give yourself a dose of freshness while heading to any party. 5. Pay Attention To Little Finishing Touches © Official Instagram/ Ishan Khatter It's not just the pieces that you wear, but it is also how you wear it, and what you do to complement it. Little touches at the end can really elevate not just your look, but also your whole persona. So, take a little time to invest in these; find a good perfume or a cologne, use a good shower gel and body lotion, make sure your hands aren't rough, your nails are clipped and clean. Pro tip: If you are heading to a party, go the extra mile, and carry a gift to make a memorable impression.

  15. While many consider being a 'rule-breaker' and 'trendsetter' to be a good thing, especially when it comes to one's fashion choices, it's important to look at such statements with perspective. While being different, trendy and redefining what fashion means to you is encouraged, it's also important to remember that there are certain rules of fashion that should NEVER be broken. Think of these not as limitations or hindrances to your fashion choices, but as golden guidelines that are full-proof in helping you look your absolute best. So on that note, here are five golden rules of fashion that all Indian men should make sure they follow. 1) Less Is More © Official Instagram/ Kartik Aaryan This is perhaps the most essential rule of fashion that ALL men should make sure they follow. While accessorising or layering itself can be a really good thing, especially if it compliments your ensemble, over-accessorising and over-layering is simply not cool. Not only will doing so make your outfit appear more overwhelming than it has any right to be, but it'll also make people not take you (or your fashion choices!) seriously. 2) Get The Right Fit © Official Instagram/ Shahid Kapoor You might be wearing the best trousers, the best suits, the best jackets or the best jeans for men, but they'll all be wasted if you don't wear the right fit. After all, wearing ill-fitting clothes is perhaps the biggest fashion sin you could possibly commit. Just think about it - would you want to go out wearing a suit that looks a tad bit larger or a pair of trousers that appear too tight? 3) Your Shoes Can Make Or Break Your Look © Official Instagram/ Vicky Kaushal The type of sneakers you are wearing can go a long way in either making or breaking your look. After all, you might be wearing the best Adidas shoes, the best Nike shoes or the best Puma shoes out there and still not look good because they aren't going well with the rest of your outfit. Pro tip: Opting for different types of white sneakers is highly recommended as they can pretty much go well with most of your outfits. 4) Don't Underestimate The Impact Of Layering © Official Instagram/ Kartik Aaryan Not only can layering elevate your casual outfit, but it can also make your outfit more modish. In fact, most men nowadays are anyway layering up their outfits with stylish jackets, shirts and pullovers. However, just keep in mind that keeping things simple and layering up your outfits are not mutually exclusive. 5) Whatever You Wear, Wear It With Confidence © Official Instagram/ Karan Johar Finally, whatever you choose to wear, make sure you wear it with confidence. After all, if you yourself are unsure and uneasy about what you're wearing, how can you possibly expect anyone else to embrace your outfit? So whether you are wearing a casual tee and a simple pair of trousers, or if you're adorning a funky jacket and shimmery trousers, you need to make sure you wear it confidence.

  17. Trail runs make for one of the most adventurous and exciting sports you could possibly take part in. After all, the sheer sense of adrenaline and thrill you'll be experiencing is pretty much unrivaled. But a trail run is not like your run-of-the-mill morning run - it's more challenging, more risky and requires an extra dose of training and caution on your end. This is where following some basic tips becomes useful and in some cases even necessary. And so if you're planning on going on an adventurous and thrilling trail run, here are seven tips you should keep in mind to make sure you have a fun (and safe!) run: 1) Invest In The Right Trail Running Shoes © Pexels This is perhaps the most important and essential thing you need to do before you go on your next trail run. After all, without investing in the best trail running shoes, you'd never be properly prepared to run on the rugged (and often times unstable) terrains of those steepy mountains and hills. As such, getting your hands on the best running shoes - ones that happen to be absolutely essential - is pretty much a no-brainer! Pro tip: Reebok, Wildcraft and Salomon curate some of the best trail running shoes in the market, most of which happen to be budget-friendly as well. 2) Conduct Proper Research Before Choosing The Trail You'll Be Running On © Unsplash As adventurous, thrilling and adrenaline rushing a trail run can be, it's also one of the most dangerous sports to take part in - especially if you don't conduct proper research about the trail you'll be running on. So before you go on your run, make sure you know everything you need to know about that particular terrain, including its altitude, its steepness, any potential safety hazards, nearby places of interest and even the type of fauna and flora you'll find on that terrain. 3) Stock Up On All Essential Supplies © Unsplash While trail running shoes are certainly the most important thing you'll need for your trail run, they are NOT the only thing you require. There are other essential supplies that you need to be stocking up on as well including, but not limited to, protective sunglasses, reflective running vests, waist pouches, windcheater jackets (in case your terrain reaches incredibly high altitudes), and even a bottle of sunscreen. Pro tip: MensXP has already curated a list of essential products you need to keep in handy before going on a trail run. 4) Make Sure You Account For The Weather © Unsplash While Indian weather can be just as unpredictable as the stock market, you should still make sure you go through the weather predictions for that particular terrain before you go on your run. After all, you really don't want to be caught off-guard with a severe storm, a dust storm or even a blizzard (depending on the location of your terrain as well as the time of the year), while you're in the middle of your run. 5) Ensure That You're Physically Trained And Mentally Prepared For The Trail Run © Unsplash A trail run is perhaps one of the most physically challenging and taxing adventure sports you could possibly take part in. It requires a well-honed skill set and to put it lightly, it's not for the faint-hearted. As such, you need to absolutely make sure that you are physically trained and mentally prepared for your trail run - and have a clear understanding of how much stamina you'll require and just how physically exhausting things can get. 6) Keep Your Eyes On The Trail © Unsplash While this is mostly true for any type of run, it becomes especially true when you're on a trail run. After all, there are a gamut of potential safety hazards that you might encounter while on a trail run that you simply won't during any run-of-the mill marathon - including steep cliffs and ledges to fall off, potential rock slides and even the appearance of wild animals! So keeping your eyes on the trail becomes necessary, irrespective of how tempting it can be to look at the nature around you. 7) Finally, Ensure That You Are Always Carrying Fluids With You © Unsplash As general rule of principle, staying hydrated and drinking lots of water is something you should always make sure you are practicing. But this golden rule of life becomes even more essential when you're on a trail run. So make sure you have those hydration packs stocked up and that you're always carrying water bottles and/or energy drinks that will keep you constantly hydrated.
  18. Love is a rare thing to find. Some find it in people, and some, in words! It's amazing how some words catch our attention and make us fall in love with them. If you want to express something in the best possible way, write a poem on it. In this digital generation, where love starts with swiping right and ends with unmatching, poetry is still the best way to express your love, or hate, as a matter of fact. Most people have a misconception about poetry. Poetry is not limited to just rhymes and long stanzas. Poetry is writing anything heart touching, irrespective of rhyme and length. The world is full of such poets and so is Instagram. Following are the 5 accounts which you should be following to read soothing lines: 1. @the_poetrybandit “We are in this together. Sometimes a step is an hour, sometimes the step is getting over someone. That step could be a feeling, negative self talk, depression, anxiety, guilt, tragedy, and FEELINGS! Oh man. The feelings I felt when I stopped drinking were unbelievable. I can't count the number of AT&T commercials I cried over. The point is, it doesn't have to be sobriety or a mental health thing for you, it could be any tough moment you are experiencing. That's why I started this page 4 years ago and that's why I stayed. 19. If not treated in the right manner, oily skin becomes a nightmare to deal with. After all, who wants to deal with the excess oil production (and the resultant pimple and acne breakouts) that come along with it? The fact that having oily skin can be a major turn off for the ladies doesn't help either. So on that note, here are five basic skin care tips that men with oily skin should make sure they follow. 1) Make Sure Your Skin Is Hydrated © Instagram/Vicky Kaushal Ensuring that you keep your skin hydrated is perhaps the first, and most essential, skin care tip that'll help you combat oily skin as it'll help wash off the natural oils your skin secretes. As such, investing in a quality face wash that will help you keep your skin hydrated is highly recommended. Pro tip: Ustraa is known for curating the best face washes for oily skin (https://www.happilyunmarried.com/ustraa/ustraa-face-wash-oily-skin-acne-oil-control-100gm.html), some of which come infused with lime and basil extracts and are tailor-made for oily skin. 2) Ensure You Exfoliate Your Skin Regularly © Unsplash Just ensuring that you are regularly keeping your skin hydrated is not enough, you also have to exfoliate it from time to time. After all, how else will you remove those dead skin cells and unblock those clogged pores? So invest in a quality face scrub and you'll be good to go. Pro tip: Investing in an A-grade face scrub for oily skin (https://www.happilyunmarried.com/ustraa/face-scrub-de-tan.html) will go a long way in ensuring you never have to deal with acne breakouts. 3) Adopt A Healthier Diet © Pexels What you eat has a significant effect on your skin's health, after all it's not for nothing that people say “you are what you eat”. So make sure you adopt a healthier diet and you'll be able to keep your skin's oil production in check. Pro tip: Maintaining a diet that is rich in green vegetables, almond milk, fruits and brown rice is highly recommended. 4) Don't Underestimate The Importance Of Moisturising A good moisturiser should be your go-to tool to help you combat oiliness. Contrary to popular belief, using a moisturiser will NOT make your skin look greasier, especially if you use the right moisturiser that can help keep your skin moist and rejuvenated. 5) Use Oil-Free Products © Pexels Last, but certainly not least, you need to make sure that your grooming regimen contains oil-free products. This might seem like a no-brainer, but an alarming number of men actually invest in skin care products WITHOUT even taking a look at the ingredients being used in those products So pay more attintion to the ingredients your grooming products are infused with and opt for oil-free variants.
  20. With air pollution levels at an all-time high, and harmful toxins attacking our hair at alarming rates, taking care of our hair has become mandatory. But infusing your hair with a million hair products is not the answer, on the contrary it'll end up doing a lot more damage than good. So to help you make sure that you take proper care of your hair, here are five simple (yet effective!) tips you should always follow: 1) Invest In Premium Hair Serums © Instagram/Ranveer Singh When it comes to taking good care of your hair, hair serums end up being a godsend. Providing your hair with the nourishment it needs, investing in a premium hair serum should be the first - and perhaps most obvious - hair care tip you should follow. Pro tip: Beardo and Ustraa curate some of the best hair serums for men, all of which happen to be super affordable as well. 2) Make Sure You Don't Over-Wash Your Hair © Instagram/Shahid Kapoor Excess of anything can be bad - even water. So if you happen to be someone who washes his hair two to three times a day, you need to immediately stop doing that. Contrary to what many of you might believe, washing your hair just once a day is more than enough to make sure that its well taken care of. 3) Don't Hesitate To Oil Your Hair © Instagram/Vicky Kaushal Oiling your hair has a lot of benefits, many of which are often severely underrated. So don't hesitate in oiling your hair every once in a while to aid in its nourishment and overall health. But be careful, as putting too much oil on your hair can be damaging as well. Pro tip: If you've been planning on growing out your hair a bit and have been struggling with the same, you should check out Beardo and UrbanGabru's catalogue as they curate some of the best oils for hair growth. 4) Use A Shampoo That Is Best Suited For Your Hair © Instagram/Shahid Kapoor Do you suffer from hair fall? Has dandruff decided to make your hair its natural habitat? What about your hair length - is it short or long? Do you have straight hair or curly hair? Is your hair coloured? Depending on these factors, certain shampoos will be better suited (and naturally more effective) than others. So when you are searching for a shampoo for your hair - a product you'll be using on an almost daily basis - you need to make sure it's one that is best suited for your hair. Pro tip: Check out these best shampoos for Indian men that cater to different hair problems. 5) Hair Dryers Are Your Friend © Instagram/Ranveer Singh If you have long hair (and let's be honest, almost every second guy out there has long hair nowadays), then investing in a hair dryer pretty much becomes mandatory. After all, hair dryers end up being your friends as they ensure that your long and wavy hair doesn't stay damp and/or tangled.
  21. It's an unsaid fact, but most girls like it when boys come over and flirt with them. Flirting is a definite healthy way to interact with someone from the opposite ***, if you're doing it right that is. But there's a really thin line between healthy and harmless flirting and flirting where you seem like a creep to her. Sometimes you can get a little ahead of yourself and come off as disrespectful or unknowingly creepy when you do approach a girl intending to flirt with her. But remember, there's a big difference between using a dirty pick-up line and having a proper conversation with a woman. © 20th Television Respecting a woman and her boundaries is the right way to go about flirting with a woman. You can flirt all the way and win her heart by just maintaining some rules. Here's the simplest way to flirt with women, if you keep these rules in mind: Rule No. 1: Play It Right The fear of rejection, while approaching a woman, looms high and it can scare you into talking to any woman. But you need to understand, that rejection is a part of life and the only way to probably avoid it, is if you approach her politely and respectfully, rather than worrying about being funny or using a cheesy pick-up line. Just be yourself and have a real conversation and she won't reject you in the first go. Believe me, a lot of women actually like a guy to just approach them with a simple 'hey, how's it going?' rather than 'are you hurt? Because it seems like you've fallen from heaven' kinda cheesy stuff. If she does reject you, it could be because she's not looking to meet new people or is just busy and unavailable. That in no way is a cue for 'try harder'. That just means you leave her alone. Trust me, you'll know when she wants you to try harder and it's not 'I am really not looking to meet someone tonight' or 'I am out with the girls tonight, sorry'. Never take rejection to heart and act out of anger by becoming egoistic about it. You tried and she wasn't really interested. That's all. Move on! Always play your cards right. Rule No. 2: Maintain Eye Contact To know if she's interested in you and to keep her interest in you alive, always maintain eye contact with her. Not in a creepy way that'll make her uncomfortable, of course. Eye contact is a window to intrigue her further and lets her know subtly, that you're into her. Always smile, every time your eyes meet. It's best to maintain eye contact even before you start a conversation. This brings about confidence in you if she meets your gaze from afar. Rule No. 3: Observe, Don't Stare Always observe the woman you're hitting on. Observe how she gestures, what her body language is like, the way she talks, what she does subconsciously. It helps you know your moves a little bit in advance, depending on your astute powers of observation, of course. Just don't stare at her. There's a difference between observing someone and staring at them and if you don't know what that is, I can't help you bud. Rule No. 4: Always Keep A Smile Your smile is a warm giveaway of the fact that you're interested in her and you'd love to get to know her better. Even if you suck at flirting, just keep a charming smile alive on your face. It delivers a lot of confidence and exuberance and she'll know you're a pleasant guy, just trying your best to flirt and she'll definitely help you out. It's true what they say, a smile can really go a long way. Rule No. 5: Be A Good Listener Sometimes, women really dislike the fact that you keep talking to prove yourself to them. That's why it's imperative to listen as much as you talk. Being a good listener is a healthy habit and if you're just about getting to know her, then don't be all about yourself. In fact, ask her questions and learn to listen to what she says. If she sees you interested in her banter, she will definitely want to talk to you more. Rule No. 6: Approach Her Normally It's time to approach her and don't make it seem like a movie, waiting for the music to start playing, while you go in slo-mo, and everyone stares at you. Nope, that's not how it's done, mate. Just be confident, maintain that eye-contact and that smile and start with the simplest opening line like 'hey'! Rule No. 7: Appropriate Touching Is Good Don't get me wrong. I don't mean touch her and make her feel uncomfortable, but some sort of bodily contact is important to establish a connection and affection. Obviously, if she's uncomfortable, don't do it. Like this one time, I was out with a girl who had the perfect curls and I couldn't resist touching her hair or playing with them and she got so uncomfortable with that, that instead of asking me to stop, she ended our date! Well, you only learn from your mistakes, don't you? So maybe keep brushing your arm against her every once in a while. If it's a crowded bar, walk behind her and keep your hand at the small of her back. Not too low, or too high, just perfectly in the middle so you can guide her through the crowd. Touch establishes being comfortable yet flirtatious around someone. So, here are the 7 crucial rules to follow when it comes to flirting with someone you've just met. If you think you've been doing it wrong, with 0 success rate, now you know why. Keep these things in mind and you're golden with the ladies!
  22. If we were to go by Merriam-Webster's definition of the word 'grooming', it basically means one basic thing - to make oneself (or someone else!) neat and more attractive. Now most men understand this well enough and don't hold back vis-a-vis investing in grooming essentials. But I've noticed a trend lately where, when it comes to facial hair, most men have decided to either not prioritize or outright ignore its grooming. This becomes even more puzzling when, in most cases, it's a man's beard game that actually helps him leave a lasting impression on his dates. So to help our bros take their beard and mooch game to the next level, here are five grooming tips for facial hair that all Indian men should follow . 1) Invest In A Quality Trimmer © Official Instagram/Virat Kohli Seriously guys, it's not that hard to do this. When looking for the best trimmers for Indian men, there are four major factors that you should keep in mind - the brand you are opting for (Philips trimmers always make for a great option), whether you want a wired or wireless trimmer, the type of beard you are growing (is it a stubble or a proper mane?) and what's the budget that you're working with. Following these tips will help you make an informed choice and invest in a quality beard trimmer that will certainly upgrade your grooming game. 2) Hair Growth Oils Are Your Friend - Use Them Wisely © Official Instagram/Ranveer Singh There is nothing wrong in wanting to grow your beard - as long as you do it the right way. Some of the best oils for hair growth out there can end up being of great use in this regard, so long as you use them wisely. So make some room in your grooming regimen for beard growth oils and you'll be good to go. Additionally, you can also opt for beard and moustache waxes that will help groom your facial hair. Pro tip: Beardo and Mamaearth come out with premium hair growth oils that you could opt for. 3) Don't Follow The Crowd, Cultivate Your Own Sense Of Style © Official Instagram/Sidharth Malhotra Sheep follow the crowd, men walk their own path. That mind sound a bit cliched, but it's actually pretty relevant when it comes to grooming your facial hair. Blindly following your favourite celebrity and basing your beard on their beard doesn't work because - a) your face shape may differ from theirs, and b) the way your beard grows out may differ as well. As such, you should cultivate your own sense of style and grow your beard keeping in mind your facial shape and comfort. 4) Wash Your Beard Regularly And Choose Your Face Wash Wisely © Pexels People often forget about the damage using a substandard face wash could cause to their beard and mooch. As such, choosing a premium and A-grade face wash, depending on your skin type and the length of your facial hair, becomes essential. For instance, you should look for face washes for dry skin (if that is your skin type) that don't contain any such ingredients that could be harmful for your facial hair. Additionally, you should also make it a habit of washing your face at least three to four times a day, so as to always keep your beard clean. Pro tip: Garnier and Himalaya face washes are highly recommended. 5) Finally, Know When To Trim It © Official Instagram/Tom Hardy There is nothing wrong with growing a beard, as long as you know when it's the right time to trim it. If your beard is growing unevenly (which is more common that you'd like to believe), or if its not suiting your face shape, then that's a sign for you to use a trimmer.
  23. Food is life for us. It is our go-to friend for everything. Food is an excuse to meet friends. It brings us together. We make friends on the basis of our common tastes, literally. There are a hundred different cuisines out there. From high-end bakeries offering melt-in-the-mouth desserts to lip-smacking chicken tikkas at barbeque restaurants. From dirt-cheap draft beer to discounted combos. There's a whole world on a platter for you to have a good time. When you have food by your side, how can you not be happy? © Thinkstock/Getty Images We are young, ambitious and raring to go, and we are always stressed. We panic when we accidentally drunk text our ex. We are bummed when we don't get a parking spot. We feel life is shit when our order doesn't arrive on time. At the end of a tiring day, an indulgent warm meal is the ultimate stress-buster. The definition of a good meal, by default, eliminates anything that's home-cooked or healthy. Dripping with cheese, oil or cream, our comfort foods are high on fat, spices and junk. Food is a status symbol today. There are restaurants you have to right tick; there are dishes you must try; there are friends you have to meet every weekend. © Thinkstock/Getty Images Good food has become our source of happiness, sometimes our only source of happiness. The solution to every problem is good (read: swimming in calories) food and cold beer. Looks like a harmless thing, doesn't it? The problem is that most days are bad days. Most days are challenging. We need an anti-bummer every day. What do you do then? You indulge yourself every day. Had a dull meeting? Have a pizza. Had an argument with girlfriend? Have a beer. It's not gluttony anymore. It's an emotional need. © Thinkstock/Getty Images And even if you escape the vicious cycle of depending on food to bring a smile to your face, how do you manage your social life with a healthy diet? We millennials document everything. We Instagram our pizzas and our beers. We Snapchat our desserts with digital hearts over them. As a result, an entire generation is binging on unhealthy food. The days when people happily lived on plain dal chawal are long gone. You need to be eating good food to feel good about your life. As a result, a whole generation is becoming unfit. From obesity and hormonal problems to diabetes and heart disease, this generation is experiencing ailments that used to affect 50-year-olds. We have far more fitness options and far better awareness than our previous generation, yet we are unhealthier than our parents. © Thinkstock/Getty Images These are two opposing forces in your life – your need to be healthier, fitter, more good-looking, and your need to find easy happiness in food and bond over your common tastes. How many parties, get-togethers will you miss because you don't want to be cheating on your diet every weekend? How many times will you stay sober while the rest of your gang is busy clicking drunk pictures? How long will your resolve to live a healthy lifestyle last when everyone around you is downing pints after pints of beer and making YOLO-resolves to live life to the fullest? © Thinkstock/Getty Images How do you then avoid it? Removing junk from your life means removing certain friends, certain occasions, certain days. The reason why so many of us are never able to stick to our diets is because there's too much temptation around. Going on a diet is not a health decision anymore; it's a decision that will affect both your social and personal life. © Thinkstock/Getty Images You sweat it out in gyms or run marathons, but how do you eat clean? How do you jeopardize your social lives, how do you deny yourselves the pleasure of a perfectly grilled cheeseburger or a freshly brewed beer? How do you eliminate the one thing you look forward to in a day? Of course, many of us are able to do so. One idea is to then choose your friends wisely; have gym partners and fellow marathoners as your closest buddies. Chances are you will never cheat on your diet with junk food. But you don't always choose your company as much as your company chooses you. Changing friends is not the answer. Perseverance is also not the long-term solution. The change has to be deep and widespread. © Thinkstock/Getty Images We need to stop defining our lives with the food we eat. We need to get out of the dim-lighted pubs and find other ways of socializing, ways that don't always involve pleasures of the culinary kind. A swim in the nearby sports club, an evening walk in the ridge area, bonding over books, art and music – can we go back to the simpler yet more intimate ways of socializing, not to mention much less expensive. And while we're at it, it just might be a good idea to leave our phones behind.
