You know how, sometimes, when you feel like you’re on top of the world, the wind is swinging in your favour and everything you’re doing is just falling right into place? And then, while you’re busy basking in the glory of your triumphs, suddenly there comes a moment when everything starts falling apart and you’re back on the ground. An example of which we’ve recently witnessed with Shark Tank India’s famous panellist Ashneer Grover, who right after getting famous for his appearance on the reality show, dove straight into a series of controversies that haven’t really ended well for him. Presently, Ashneer Grover is no longer part of the BharatPe board, for he claims to have been ‘forced to resign’ and was vilified by the investors. At the same time, his wife Madhuri Jain was also fired from the company on charges of ‘misappropriation of funds’. And turns out, both of them haven’t taken the news too well, for they’ve been using social media to show their dissent for things that have gone down. © Madhuri Jain While Madhuri took to Twitter to leak videos of the BharatPe employees, drinking and smoking in the office, while claiming that they can continue with their ‘drunken orgies’, Ashneer Grover took to his LinkedIn page to share a post about his alleged ‘lavish lifestyle’ after the board alleged him for siphoning off funds. He wrote, “I am appalled at the personal nature of the BharatPe Board's statement, but not surprised. It comes from a position of personal hatred and low thinking. I think the Board needs to be reminded of $1M of secondary shares investors bought from me in Series C, $2.5M in Series D and $8.5M in Series E. I would also want to learn who among Amarchand, PWC and A&M has started doing audit on ‘lavishness’ of one’s lifestyle ? The only thing lavish about me is my dreams and ability to achieve them against all odds through hard work and enterprise." © Ashneer Grover He went on to also wish, “I hope the Board can get back to working soon - I as a shareholder am worried about the value destruction. I wish the Company and the Board a speedy recovery. Please get back to your actual day jobs.” © Ashneer Grover And lastly, Ashneer shared a picture of a bed made out of a mattress on the floor and wrote, “P.S. I indeed have a very lavish lifestyle. I get invited by friends with open hearts to their homes, where I have no qualms sleeping on the floor. And this is when I am on the road in US and UK raising $370M Series E. And I've the right to stay in any lavish hotel and charge it on the company issued credit card in my pocket. Those who haven't built from scratch will never understand the Founder's mentality.” Several people dropped comments on his post that was shared yesterday, with over 61 thousand likes and counting. While some supported Ashneer, others wondered if he was aiming to gain sympathy. © Ashneer Grover One wrote, “Ashneer has been playing the victim card for quite a while now! Irrespective of his tussle with the board, he could have exhibited greater sense of dignity & poise in handling the whole situation,” while another commented, “This is ridiculous, what a shame on the board members. Is this really happening, what type of a mindset do these board members have? how do they think and act? They stooped so low, unbelievable and appalling.
