  1. The World Cup fever has gripped the entire planet at the moment, but ahead of the much-awaited India vs Pakistan match scheduled for 16th June, the fervour and craziness in the air is at its peak, because like always, this is a highly-anticipated match, which will be watched by everyone, irrespective of their loyalties. So, ahead of this match, a Pakistani TV commercial has been going viral for all the wrong reasons. The advertisement shows a look-alike of IAF pilot Abhinandan Varthaman, who was in Pakistani captivity , wearing the colors of the Indian team jersey. This is the our hero's personality, no one can remain untouched. But next time plz use some good actors. Btw #ShikharDhawan exclusion must be a relief for many competitors #CWC19 #abhinandan pic.twitter.com/mrBFLFLh2d — Megha Jainð®ð³ (@i_meghajain) June 11, 2019 While Indians have mocked fans across the border with the 'Mauka Mauka' ad, a lot of angry Indian fans feel this was below the belt and not in good taste at all. This is shameful. Please just let this be a cricket match. This is beyond just simple banter. #CWC19#INDvPAK https://t.co/shsUrYpCHl — Ritayan Basu | à¦à¦¤à¦¾à§à¦¨ বসৠ(@ritayanbasu) June 11, 2019 Abhinandan's Capture Mocked in Racist #Pakistani Ad For World Cup Clash Against #India. The advertisement is an epic fail because Pak hasn't won a single match against us in the World Cup and the whole #Abhinandan incident was a win for us as well, seeing how he was returned to us safely. Think thoroughly before you try to start a banter, Pak. #EpicFail #CWC19 https://t.co/CHgsJOOFLz — Rahul Mishra (@RahulDKMishra) June 11, 2019 The main question is, how far can you go when it comes to national pride? These guys have their hearts filled with hate. #Pakistan stooping to a new low#abhinandan https://t.co/X1KpCfKeFO — SnehalRajani (@Snehal_Rajani) June 11, 2019 Our soldiers are way above a mere, crass advertisement and mockery of this kind not only belittles an individual, but is also a joke on the sacrifices made by the brave soldiers of a country.
  2. The year 2019 started with a bang for actor Vivek Oberoi, when his first look from his upcoming movie, 'PM Narendra Modi', came out. If there was anyone happier than Vivek or the makers of the movie, it was Vivek's fans who were having a field day discussing the film. Don't ask us this question again - "Vivek Oberoi has fans?" Anyway, from churning out hilarious reactions to putting efforts into making every dialogue trend in the form of memes; the PM Modi biopic became a bigger joke than us on social media. Now, the Election Commission has further rubbed salt on the wounds of the film's cast and crew by putting a ban on its release, just one day before it was about to hit the theatres. © Legend Global Studios When the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) gave a green signal to the movie, it raised the hopes of everyone waiting with a bucket of popcorn and cold drinks in their hands. But, now all those hopes are crushed as today, the EC announced a ban on the film's release until the Lok Sabha elections are over. According to the order, "Any Biopic material in nature of biography sub serving the purpose of any political entity or any individual entity connected to it, which has potential to disturb level playing field during the election, should not be displayed in Electronic media including cinematograph during the operation of Model Code of Conduct." © Legend Global Studios On Tuesday, the Supreme Court dismissed a petition filed by a Congress activist, who was asking for a stay on the release of the biopic. The court said that it cannot entertain the petition for the stay on the release, as it would be "premature" since the movie wasn't certified by the Censor Board. While CBFC gave a U-certificate, the EC made the makers take a U-turn before the release. Since, people can't watch the movie now, let's watch the trailer again. The film's lead actor aka reel-life PM Modi too wasn't happy with the way everyone was playing with the film's release. He took a dig at Bollywood for clicking selfies with the PM, but not taking a stand for the movie. Well, not just Vivek Oberoi, his fans too are furious with this decision. ððððð Booked a large tub of Popcorn and a medium glass of a very sacred drink, in advance. 3. Not to lead anyone to the horrible trap of superstition and unfounded belief systems, but we have to pay attention to the fact that when it comes to Virat Kohli and his Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) , their fate is doomed at the Indian Premier League (IPL) ever since the franchise was introduced in 2008. Having made it to just three IPL finals (2009, 2011 and 2016), RCB has never won a single title despite the team being loaded with world-class talents from the best squads seen at the international cricketing level. Ever since Kohli took up the role of the leader of the team ahead of the 2014 season of the league, his run as the skipper is flooded with unfortunate losses, embarrassing moments (RCB hold the record for the lowest IPL total of 49 runs) and heartbreaking exits from the tournament through the years. One such incident took place on Thursday in a nerve-racking game against Rohit Sharma's Mumbai Indians (MI). With Bengaluru needing seven runs off the final delivery of match, the loss was almost certain for the players in red and gold. Mumbai pacer and Sri Lankan legend Lasith Malinga let out a full-toss to an unprepared batsman in Shivam Dube who managed to connect and failed to take a single run. The twist however comes at a technical level. While Malinga took his run-up for the final ball, he overstepped which usually calls for the umpire to call it a 'no-ball'. This time around, the on-field umpire S. Ravi missed the call, resulting in RCB's unfortunate loss. Bed and poor umpiring by the umpires if the umpire consider the no ball the result was different and gone to RCB's sideðð captain Kohli says the same thing that,"umpires ko ankhain khuli rakhni chahiain!!!"ð ð¤ð¡........ pic.twitter.com/neTAlxM4lm — Imakash_n6.o (@akash_nad) March 29, 2019 What makes this incident even more excruciating is the 'what if' factor. If the umpire had called out for the 'no-ball', it not only would have resulted in an extra delivery but also an additional run awarded to Kohli's side making it possible for them to win with a maximum at the last ball. When Kohli was approached after the game, he was ready to share a piece of his mind with the public. Without holding back anything Kohli charged at the umpire for messing it up big time and very rightly so. "We are playing at the IPL level. We are not playing club cricket. That is just a ridiculous call -- last ball. The umpires should have their eyes open. It was a no-ball by an inch. It's completely different game altogether,” said a furious Kohli. “If it is a game of margins, I don't know what is happening. They should have been more sharp and careful out there." Sympathising with the umpires after the debacle, fans showed their concerns about the poor officials' wellbeing on Twitter: Virat kohli waiting for umpire #RCBvMI pic.twitter.com/gvrW2NXBH6 — SANJEEV KUMAR YADAV (@skysanjeevyadav) March 29, 2019 Umpire to Kohli after d match#noball #RCBvMI pic.twitter.com/8D8LO4KHbz — Shadab Yazdani (@Shadab_Yazdani) March 28, 2019 Kohli right now to Umpire #RCBvMI pic.twitter.com/sbOnTZhjAJ — Ravi Prakash (@raviprakash91) March 28, 2019 Virat Kohli to Umpire after the last ball #RCBvMI #RCBvMI pic.twitter.com/aQMjSaujM4 — Ajeet (@Kingofipl_dhoni) March 28, 2019 Kohli to Umpire after presentation ceremony: pic.twitter.com/JWOMIHFeYE — Nitish Ranjan (@nitish_ranjan) March 28, 2019 A massage from Virat kohli to umpire #RCBvMI #MIvsRCB pic.twitter.com/WwNQ0URsqr — भाà¤à¤¸à¤¾à¤¹à¤¬ (@Bhai_saheb) March 28, 2019 Umpire when Kohli meets him after the match #RCBvMI pic.twitter.com/3kTzdRtzFa — Rajpurohit (@gajender00) March 28, 2019 Virat Kohli looking for the Umpire#RCBvMI #IPL2019 #NoBall pic.twitter.com/3dRV9pl2G8 — Why So Silly® (@silly_why) March 28, 2019 Kohli is fuming. 4. Winger Gareth Bale was making a name for himself as somewhat of a bench warmer in the recent weeks as his club, Real Madrid had been undergoing one of the worst stints in the history of their existence. The players looked unhappy, the manager looked frustrated and the disappointed fans were on the verge of a riot when last night, in a do-or-die kind of a situation for Los Blancos, the Amsterdamsche Football Club Ajax (AFC Ajax) handed them a cruel 4-1 defeat, making them lose 3-5 on aggregate, and knocking them out of the Champions League at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium, the home to Real Madrid players. Things particularly went out of hand for Bale who, in what has become more of a trend lately, started the game sitting on the substitution bench. However, the Welsh did lace up his boots and entered the field within 30 mins of play time as Lucas Vazquez went down with an injury. Not good for Bale #waleswatch pic.twitter.com/Wz9J0PqO4D — James Holt ð´ó §ó ¢ó ·ó ¬ó ³ó ¿ (@james_scfc88) March 5, 2019 Bale's average performance, which also included a shot at the post (but no goals), failed to impress the people of Madrid who voted him as the worst Real Madrid player during last night's heartbreaking defeat. According to the Spanish publication, Marca, who put to vote the performance of the 14 Los Blancos superstars, Bale received a total of 1,100+ Down Votes while only being able to garner 199 Up Votes. On the other hand, the current Ballon d'Or holder Luca Modric was voted the best Real Madrid player. Courtois, Nacho (Red Card) and Kroos ranked 11th, 12th and 13th worst just ahead of the Wales international. The collective heat towards the winger follows a rant by Bale's personal agent Jonathan Barnett. "This generation of Real fans will be talking about Gareth's goals for years to come. Frankly, they should be ashamed of themselves... Gareth deserves the greatest of respect. The way the Real fans have treated Gareth is nothing short of a disgrace,” expressed Barnett in a recent interview with Sky. “In the six years he has been in Spain, he has won everything. He's one of the best players in the world. Those fans should be kissing his feet." Clearly, Bale's agent and Real Madrid fans are not on the same page as they took to Twitter to let the world know exactly how unhappy they are with the footballer's performance: When Perez asked Bale to step into Ronaldo's shoes pic.twitter.com/9MyTS5EU3k — Chidiebere Ogu ™ï¸ (@chyngyozil) March 5, 2019 September 19th, 2018 was the last time Gareth Bale scored at the Bernabéu. 5. Until yesterday, Barbados, the island nation in the Caribbean, used to be known across the world for being the place where 'Friends' character Rachel (Jennifer Aniston) hooked up with Joey (Matt LeBlanc), but the Windies' 'Universe Boss', Chris Gayle, decided to change that last evening when he caused it to rain sixes on the island against the visiting England cricket team. WHAT A KNOCK. Chris Gayle makes an incredible return to international cricket, reaching his 24th ODI hundred with a single off of Chris Woakes. It's come from exactly 100 balls. Clinical.#WIvENG | FOLLOW â¬ï¸ https://t.co/pQbWOWuEQM pic.twitter.com/0uUFCPJK4h — ICC (@ICC) February 20, 2019 If 'Balls Lost' was a stat maintained by the International Cricket Council (ICC), it would have to be Chris Gayle's name on the top of the charts. In a comeback match of his extremely successful career, the 39-year-old was able to get his 24th ODI century. He scored a massive 135 runs off 129 balls while having three 4s and 12 thunderous 6s to achieve this feat. What is crazier than these numbers is the sheer strength Gayle continues to command. There are sixes that just make it beyond the boundary line and then there are the 'Gayle Storm' sixes that disappear somewhere on stadium rooftops or even go out of them. Yesterday, Barbados experienced one such storm. During the beating he put on the Englishmen last evening, Gayle's 12 sixes included a monsterous maximum that travelled for more than 120-m with the ball nowhere to be found. However, the 'ball-finding' experts believe that it may quite possibly be resting on the decks of a ship docked in the adjacent port. But that was just one of eight incidents when the umpires had to introduce a new white ball into the game because of Chris Gayle. Running out of balls in Barbados#ENGvWI Gayle ð¥ð¥ — @RavitejaFan (@asisht84) February 20, 2019 Gayle looked like a batsman fresh in his prime during the first ODI between England and West Indies. Beating Shahid Afridi's record for the most number of sixes (476), Gayle got the top spot in that category when in the 14th over, Gayle sent another one out of the park on a Moeen Ali-delivery. His new found form has come up after a couple of days since the athlete had publicly announced that he would be retiring from One-Day International cricket post ICC World Cup 2019. Although Joe Root and the rest of the English squad was able to chase down the Windies' mammoth total of 360 runs to win the first ODI, Gayle's return to the Caribbean roster in such fashion, just a couple of months before the world cup is nothing but good new for his team. 7. Over the past few months and even years, Aadhaar has been in the news quite often. But unfortunately, most of the times, it was for the wrong reason. The government's directive of linking every possible official document that one has with their Aadhaar card did not go down well with the citizens of the country. However, all that backlash reduced drastically because well, what could one possibly do? What's done is done. If you want your sim, your bank account and everything else to work, you better link your Aadhaar card. © Paisa Bazaar However, what was revealed today has taken the entire country by storm. Time and again, the fear of our Aadhaar details being leaked have come to the forefront. And today, all of us have been proved right about it, even though we didn't want to be. The Tribune decided to conduct an investigation in Chandigarh to determine the security of Aadhaar details and the result was nothing short of shocking. © The Wire Rachna Khaira, a correspondent posed as a customer and contacted an “agent” who created a “gateway” and gave her a login ID and password to access the Aadhaar. All this happened in about 10 minutes for a mere payment of â¹500 through Paytm. When the Additional Director-General of UIDAI Regional Centre, Sanjay Jindal was asked about the same, he said, “Except the Director-General and I, no third person in Punjab should have a login access to our official portal. Anyone else having access is illegal, and is a major national security breach.” All this started around six months ago when anonymous groups were created on Whatsapp, who targeted around 3 lakh village-level enterprise (VLE), operators. As soon as the news came out, Twitter users were shocked to the core. 1. A Nightmare Indeed. Rs 500. That's all it takes for someone to steal the data of a billion citizens. 8. 'The Fast and the Furious' is a movie series that all of us have been interested in at some point or the other. While it started off as a franchise purely about fast cars, today it has become more about big action and even bigger heists. The last one even had a submarine in it. *rolls eyes* Source: Universal Pictures But, one thing is for sure, we've seen some pretty neat cars through the series. We've ranked the top 9 here. Let us know if we missed any: #9 Bugatti Veyron Source: Universal Pictures We know what you're saying. There has never been a Bugatti Veyron in the 'Fast and Furious' movie franchise. That's not true. Although it was only in the movie for a few seconds, it still counts. It was in 'Furious 7' when they're in Dubai. Don't remember? Let us refresh your memory: #8 2002 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution Source: Universal Pictures This is the car Brian drove through most of '2 Fast 2 Furious.' It isn't one of the fastest cars in the world but it got the job done. You may not know this but they had wanted to get an EVO VIII for the movie but had to settle for an EVO VII since the EVO VIII wasn't available in the United States while they were filming. This is perhaps the only car we had some doubts about while putting it on this list. #7 2010 Koenigsegg CCX-R Source: Universal Pictures Again, this one made nothing more than a cameo in the franchise but that's more than enough for it to deserve a spot on this list. This car is seen in 'Fast Five.' While Roman Pierce and Tej Parker claim to have two of the only CCX-Rs in the Western Hemisphere what most people don't know is that there are only two CCX-Rs in the world. #6 2013 W Motors Lykan HyperSport Source: Universal Pictures The first thing we think of when we hear the word Lykan (Lycan) is the werewolves from the 'Underworld' series. They were huge, powerful beasts that could tear vampires in half. While the HyperSport won't be able to tear a vampire in half, it is a huge, powerful beast. There's no two ways about it. #5 1970 Dodge Challenger Source: Universal Pictures We know what you're thinking, why the Challenger instead of the Camaro? We have a one word answer to this question. Colour! Just think about it. A nasty blue Camaro or a bright orange Challenger. Yeah, both would pique your interest, but what if both were standing side by side. Don't lie! You'd go for the bright orange one. All day! #4 1993 Mazda RX-7 Source: Universal Pictures Not many people will remember this car from the 'Fast and Furious' franchise. Well, it's from one of the earlier movies. We're not going to tell you which one. What we will tell you is that Vin Diesel is the one driving it. Got an idea now? Let us know in the comments. #3 1995 Toyota Supra Turbo MkIV Source: Universal Pictures While the Skyline is probably the most popular car to come out of Japan, the Supra is the most powerful. Brian did spend an entire movie building one, after all. Also, it's the same car Brian used to race Dom over the quarter mile in 'The Fast and the Furious.' They call it a 10-second car. This means it can do a quarter mile in under 10 seconds. Is that possible in the real world? Of course! But, not with a stock Supra. That's for sure! #2 1970 Dodge Charger Source: Universal Pictures We spent most of the first movie just waiting for Vinny D to get behind the wheel of this monster. The whole engine outside the hood idea was nothing more than a dream until we saw this beauty on the big screen. Remember when the Charger raced the Supra over a quarter-mile? When the front two wheels of the Charger lifted off the ground the first time, it made the hair on the back of our neck stand up! Source: Universal Pictures #1 1999 Nissan R34 Skyline GT-R Source: Universal Pictures Some people may say that Vin Diesel's Charger should be number one on this list. We guess it all comes down to whether you prefer muscle or import. The Charger is the perfect example of good old American muscle and the Skyline is the perfect example of Japanese ingenuity. Who can forget the gorgeous Brian O'Conner behind the wheel of the Skyline from '2 Fast 2 Furious?' One more reason this one comes out on top, and this is a little personal, there is no way you don't remember the Skyline from 'Need For Speed: Most Wanted'! Source: Universal Pictures Wouldn't it be great if you could meet and talk to the guy who built every single car in the 'Fast & Furious' franchise? While we can't make that happen, what we can do is show you a video where he talks about all the cars he designed. We're not talking about the regular cars. We're talking about the cars that were specifically made for the movies. These cars are so popular that some people even went as far as to recreate them. Check it out:
  9. For sports lovers, getting their hands on the jerseys of their favorite team is very essential. But for the fans of the Indian Football team, it was a daunting task. American apparel and sports accessories giant, Nike has been involved with the Indian national team over the past ten years as the kit suppliers for the ‘Blue Tigers'. The latest kit's light blue tones and minimalistic design looked neat with the new All India Football Federation (AIFF) logo. However, much to the dismay of the fans, the jersey was not available in stores. In the month of October this year, the FIFA U-17 World Cup is taking place in India and the Indian National team is all set to go head to head against the best teams from around the world. So, Nike and AIFF finally decided to up their game and announced that the new Indian national team jersey will be available at select Nike retailers from September 8 and on Nike.com starting September 12. Of course, it was expected that the jersey won't come cheap because of the quality fabric and the amount of research that goes behind their making. Apparently, the latest jersey is made of recycled polyester fabric, which is made from recycled plastic bottles melted down to produce a fine yarn. It also has Nike's Dri-FIT technology that helps draw sweat away from the body to the exterior. All these hi-tech innovations help maximize ventilation and allow the players to perform at their best by remaining cooler, drier, and more comfortable. The fans were rejoicing on getting this news but their happiness went out of the window when they saw the price of the jersey. Nike has priced it at Rs 4,695 which is too expensive in itself. But once you add up the tax and the shipment charges, it rounds off around Rs. 5,000. And that obviously didn't go down well with the Indian fans. I can understand why the iPhoneX costs a lakh in India. What I can't understand is why the Indian football jersey costs Rs 4695. 10. A sign is seen at the entrance of the compound of the Trade Representation building of the Russian Federation on September 2, 2017, in Washington DC. AFP/Eric Baradat MOSCOW: Russia demanded Sunday that the US rethink its shuttering of Moscow's diplomatic premises, insisting that Washington bore sole responsibility for worsening ties after the "hostile act". "We consider what has happened as an openly hostile act and a gross violation of international law by Washington," the foreign ministry in Moscow said in a statement. "We call on the American authorities to come to their senses and immediately return the Russian diplomatic properties or all blame for the continuing degradation in our relations lies on the US." Kremlin spokesman Dmitri Peskov for his part accused Washington of "trampling on international law". On Saturday, Russia was forced to vacate its consulate in San Francisco and two diplomatic buildings in New York and Washington after the US ordered the move, the latest twist of a lengthy feud. US federal agents inspected a Russian trade mission in Washington to confirm its closure, a step that drew a fierce diplomatic protest Saturday from Moscow. The foreign ministry said Sunday that the "US intelligence services with the support of armed police were now in charge of the seized buildings". Washington issued the closure order Thursday in retaliation for Moscow ordering the US to slash its diplomatic mission by 755 personnel by September 1. The number of US diplomatic staff will now be capped at 455, the same number that Russia has in the United States. The recent surge in tensions between the two nuclear-armed powers is a diplomatic setback for US President Donald Trump. During his campaign for office last year and in the early days of his presidency, he promised to try to improve relations with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Last year, tensions again escalated after US intelligence accused Putin of orchestrating a hacking and influence campaign to tip the presidential vote to Trump. In the waning days of his tenure, former US president Barack Obama punished Russia by turfing out 35 diplomats and closing diplomatic compounds in New York and Maryland. Moscow initially held off from retaliating but when Congress passed new sanctions, the Kremlin decided to belatedly strike back and ordered the US staff cut.
  11. Disclaimer: Spoilers ahead from episode 4, ‘The Spoils of War'. While the whole world was in shock after the hackers leaked the fourth episode of ‘Game Of Thrones', thanks to the makers, we are not regretting watching the leaked episode ahead of everyone else. ‘The Spoils of War' was the mother of all episodes, with the ‘loot train attack' being the one of the most fierce and explosive battles of all time. The amount of water I spit out of my mouth in excitement and shock was more than the stream of flame that Drogon spewed out to erase Jamie Lannister's forces. Although I am kind of disappointed with the name of the battle, the fight itself was more of a massacre than anything else. © HBO With the mother of dragons raining down fire from the sky and the Dothraki slaying people on ground, this episode was f**king awesome and one can only imagine how tough it would have been to shoot the whole scene. The episode has left us perplexed and confused as to who to root for after this whole sequence. While we enjoyed the deadly battle between Jamie Lannister's army and Daenerys' dragon along with the Dothraki, here's a behind-the-scenes featurette video that you must watch. This video talks about the amount of effort that went into making this battle one of the deadliest affairs in the television history. Trust me, the video will make you fall in love with ‘Game Of Thrones' all over again. Apparently, this episode happens to be most amount of time when Emilia Clarke was seen riding the dragon. Joe Bauer, VFX supervisor said that in Season 6, there were 11 shots of Daenerys riding the dragon, but in this loot train attack alone there were more than 80. To give a little brief *cough spoiler cough* of this episode, Jamie Lannister and his army were heading home after their victory at Highgarden, when they were attacked by Daenerys and the Dothraki in Westeros, and not just the 27 loot carriages but the soldiers were burned alive as well. © HBO We do feel bad for Tyrion Lannister who was left with no option but to watch his brother and his army lose in front of his eyes. He can't go against Danerys after all. Having said that, our dragon mother on the other hand has finally let loose her dragons in Westeros, and their fury has been unleashed and the bar has now been set really high. Let's just hope that the next episode manages to keep the pace and the build up at a pinnacle.
  12. The ‘Fast And Furious’ series has been going through a stellar run ever since it was conceived. One of the prime attractions of the series was the bromance between Vin Diesel and Paul Walker. The powerful duo not only made a great team on the big screen, they were also known to be the best of friends in real life. #Fast#and#Furious#R.I.P#Paul#Walker#Dominic#Toretto#Brian#O'conner#Han#Letty#Ortiz#Mia#Hobbes#Vin#Diesel#The#Rock#Michelle#Rodriguez#Sung#Kang#Jordana#Brewster#@paulwalker#@vindiesel#@sungkangsta#@mrodofficial#@ludacris#@tyreese#@jasonstatham#@jordanabrewster😭😭😭💞💚💜💖❤💗💕😘😍 A post shared by paul walker/vin diesel (@paulwalkervindiesel) on Apr 12, 2015 at 9:43am PDT Family is forever... #FF7 - #TeamPW A post shared by Paul Walker (@paulwalker) on Sep 24, 2014 at 1:20pm PDT The sad demise of Paul Walker shocked everyone and, of course, eventually led to the seventh instalment ending on a different note than it was originally planned. Our hearts broke when we saw the two friends bid goodbye in the closing scene of the movie. Have you ever wondered about the fate about the series and, particularly, this movie, if Paul was still alive? According to Chris Morgan, the writer of the movie, the ending was supposed to be very different. "Well, the original ending, if I remember correctly, was our guys end up solving the problem and then kind of becoming---again, going more outlaw, it was sort of a happier ending that kind of ends with the insinuation that they were gonna go off onto this heist or this job. When the big bad wolf blows your house down... you get even. http://bit.ly/pwff7 #Furious7 - #TeamPW A post shared by Paul Walker (@paulwalker) on Feb 5, 2015 at 7:27pm PST In regards to the story, it kind of was the same. The only difference is that we let Brian and Mia and their family go off to just be a family and drop the action-y elements of their lives and stop risking everything when the family is so important to them. Otherwise we would've just kind of continued with Brian learning and adjusting his character a little bit.” Life always has a different plan and sadly, we don’t get to script it.
  13. It was quite tragic when we all learned that Paul Walker, everyone's favourite blue-eyed boy, died in a fatal car crash in November 2013. While that left a void that could never be filled in the hearts of his family and friends, here, we're going to be talking about the problem it left the producers of 'Fast and Furious 7'. The first thing they needed to do was make necessary alterations to the script so that his character could be written out of the franchise. But, since they couldn't just magically make him disappear, they needed to film his remaining scenes. But, how? In step Paul's brothers, Caleb and Cody. This is as far as most people's understanding goes. But, there's just one problem. His brothers look nothing like him. © Quora/Krishnendu Krishnan So, how did they do it? You're probably thinking CGI right about now. But, but, but... What does that really mean? Is CGI so good that you can shoot an actor's scenes without needing them? It seems so. While director James Wan hasn't revealed the exact number of scenes which were filmed without Paul, the internet feels that there are over 350 shots where Paul's brothers stepped in for him. Now, if a movie were shot from start to finish, the way we see it, telling the difference would have been easy. You could pinpoint the exact time when Paul's brothers stepped in on his behalf. But hey, this is Hollywood! That's not how it works. While some of the shots were easy, some of them weren't. Shots with Brian O'Conner standing in the middle of a crowd or an action scene weren't hard. It's the scenes where he had little to do which gave the most trouble. Shots which were focused on him alone proved to be the hardest. Here are a few of the shots from the movie where it wasn't really Paul: Paul Walker Furious 7 VFX shots As per an article in Vanity Fair the three scenes which were the hardest to recreate were: #1 When Paul Walker (Brian O'Conner), Vin Diesel (Dominic Toretto), and Kurt Russell (Mr. Nobody) are driving through the desert About this scene, Martin Hill, VFX Supervisor at WETA (The company responsible for bringing Paul "back to life"), said, "Paul is trying to get to Los Angeles quickly, and is also reacting in a subtle way to the injured Kurt Russell in the backseat. The performance was very nuanced. . . . That's a high bar in itself, to create that. Beyond that, this actor was known to millions of fans, and this had to be Paul Walker—more specifically, Walker in character as Brian O'Conner." #2 When Toretto asks Brian if he "still missed the bullets" after jumping multiple skyscrapers in Abu Dhabi It's relatively easier to make CGI work when you're shooting an action scene with a lot of movement or when there are multiple characters on screen. When the focus is on the CGI, and there's barely any movement, the job becomes extremely difficult. Add to that the fact that neither of Paul's brothers was a seasoned actor and Weta had quite the problem on their hands. They did manage to solve it though, and how. #3 When the team is lined up in Los Angeles planning their next move This is probably the toughest scene yet where Brian O'Conner wasn't just supposed to be on screen in full frame but also had to deliver dialogue with meaning. But, Weta did such a good job with it that the shot was used for the promotion campaigns of the film. Now that's what you call "Special" effects. Remember the below poster? That’s not Paul! © Universal Pictures Paul probably was the best thing to come out of the Fast & Furious franchise, and he will surely be missed. Here's the tribute scene from the movie which, we feel, is one of the best tributes given by a movie to a departed actor in history.
  14. After the innumerable teasers, posters and a trailer thrown in later, the final major trailer of ‘Wonder Woman’ was dropped. The trailer shows us just how Princess Diana turned into the monster fighting bad ass we saw in 'Batman v Superman'. © Warner Bros The story traces the journey of Diana who travels from Themyscira to the real world with her indestructible bracelets and lasso of truth. It looks like Gal Gadot may just pull off the character better than the great Lynda Carter. She will always be the first Wonder Woman, but Gal Gadot is the Wonder Woman we need today. Even though she had a decent role in 'Batman v Superman', this is the first solo adventure for her as well as the first time the DC Extended Universe will make a superhero movie around a woman. They certainly couldn't have chosen a better superhero. This is the one thing Marvel lacks and probably why they announced 'Captain Marvel' for 2019. Who knows how that's going to work out. © Twitter Chris Pine will be portraying Steve Trevor in the movie and from the looks of the trailer, he has done a damn good job. We can't wait to see a relationship develop between these two on the big screen. Hopefully. We were also introduced to the villain in this trailer, Dr. Poison. Let's face it, not many know about this character and it's best that it stays that way. Go for the movie with no expectations and you'll have a lot more fun. The action sequences have been shot quite well and there's little to complain there. This certainly isn't shaping up like one of the Wonder Woman episodes from the 70s. © Warner Bros The movie hits the theatres in June and we're waiting with bated breath to watch the most popular female superhero enter the DCEU. Also, in case you missed it, here’s the first trailer to refresh your memory:
  15. Since the past few days, the entire world has been shaking for two reasons – the mystery behind Kattappa killing Baahubali, and ‘The Fate of the Furious’. While, the former has broken all the records in its opening weekend, the latter isn’t far behind and has been setting a record of another level altogether. Apparently, ‘The Fate of the Furious’ has been crashing all the piracy networks, with over 2 million pirated copies illegally shared worldwide in a week after its release. © Universal Pictures While we were anticipating that this movie would fail to impress the audience, the million-figure pirated copies seem to be reciting another story. According to Tecxipio, a piracy-analytics firm, these copies which are being circulated on file-sharing networks are illegal camcorders shot in cinemas and seem to be originating from India. Wow! Looks like Piracy and India are like that quarreling married couple, who can neither live with each other nor live without each other. This reminds me of our hostel days where the Wi-Fi was primarily used for downloading pirated copies of movies. Later we will call all the friends to our rooms and criticize the movie together. © Universal Pictures This movie is the 8th installment of ‘The Fast & Furious’ series and was released on April 14 in the US. We don’t know how critics will award this movie, but thanks to some smart asses this movie had already become the most pirated film by the first week. Although in comparison to ‘Furious 7’ and Universal’s other movies, it hasn’t made much of an impact even in the world of piracy in terms of numbers. However, given that the copies are said to be camcords and not high quality versions, the numbers are relatively well. According to a report published in Variety, the piracy spiked to 489,400 daily file sharers within two days after the theatrical release in the US and then steadily grew on an average of 420,000 in the following days. If we go by the data, it looks like people are ready to consume any big-budget Hollywood movie even if it’s a no-brainer because something is always better than nothing. © Universal Pictures Honestly, we have nothing against this movie but considering other films in the franchise, ‘The Fate of the Furious’ is what disappointment looks like. But if you think Vin Diesel, Charlize Theron or Dwayne Johnson are reasons enough for you to watch it, then you can definitely go. Source: Variety
  16. The moment the news broke out that liquor baron Vijay Mallya has been arrested in London by the Scotland yard, the whole world went into a tizzy and the internet was left gasping for air. With each passing minute, someone or the other was posting comments and personal views about his arrest and how this move is a great one. But, if you were taking a shower, had gone to buy some grocery for your girlfriend, or just went downstairs to park your car; right after reading this news you probably lost your golden chance to post anything. Because by the time you came back, Vijay Mallya was already out on bail and might have been enjoying his release with a ‘Kingfisher Premium’ pint. © Facebook Just like his arrest, the news of his bail too spread like wildfire and by the time we came to terms with exactly happened, Mallya’s release had already sent shockwaves around the world. We think the scientists will now have to edit the statement “Light travels faster than sound” and change it to “Vijay Mallya travels faster than anyone else in the world”. And the second best competition for Mallya is Twitter. This savage platform never minces words for anyone or anything and that’s what we love the most about it. So, while you were repenting your decision for going in for shower or not posting on Facebook about Mallya’s arrest within seconds, these whiz kids went a notch higher and turned Vijay Mallya’s release into an epic meme that is sure to leave you in splits. 17. LOS ANGELES: Universal´s action thriller "The Fate of the Furious" hit the ground in super-high gear this weekend, taking in $100.2 million on North American screens while roaring to record global revenues of more than a half-billion dollars, industry analysts estimated. Exhibitor Relations said the latest chapter in Universal Studio´s "Fast and Furious" series accounted for nearly two-thirds of North American revenues over the three-day Easter weekend, leaving previous frontrunner "The Boss Baby" in its dust with just $15.5 million in sales. That Fox/DreamWorks Animation film has now grossed $116.3 million domestically. While the latest "Fast" opened strongly, the manic muscle-car-filled film -- with megastars Vin Diesel and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson -- made nearly a third less in its first weekend than the previous "Fast and Furious" chapter, which scored $147.2 million. But the new film had an exceptionally strong performance in the rest of the world, led by China, bringing in $432.3 million. With North American sales added in, the estimated $532.5 million global debut would break the record of $529 million held by "Star Wars: The Force Awakens," website BoxOfficeMojo.com reported. "Beauty and the Beast" continued to draw viewers, earning $13.6 million in its fifth week out. The Disney blockbuster, starring Emma Watson and Dan Stevens, has taken in $454.7 million domestically while pushing past $1 billion internationally. The animated "Smurfs: The Lost Village" from Sony came in next at $6.5 million. That was half its opening takes from a week earlier. Holding fifth spot on North American screens was "Going in Style." The Warner Bros. comedy, starring Morgan Freeman, Alan Arkin and Michael Caine as aging bank robbers, had weekend sales of $6.3 million. Rounding out the top 10 are: "Gifted" ($3.0 million) "Get Out" ($2.9 million) "Power Rangers" ($2.9 million) "The Case for Christ" ($2.7 million) "Kong: Skull Island" ($2.7 million)
  18. If you think ‘Fast and Furious’ is one of the best movie franchises in the world then this movie will certainly change your mind. We don't know who is to blame for the 2h16m of crap that they turned into the eighth instalment of the movie but we feel like we should be able to sue Universal Pictures for damages. If you want to bang your head against a wall for a couple of hours, there are cheaper ways of doing it. We could go on talking about what this movie made us feel like when we walked out of the auditorium but we'd rather just talk about the actors who are part of the most action-packed BOLLYWOOD movie of 2017: My Future Is Pitch Black - Vin Diesel What have I done? © Pinterest Vin Diesel showcased all his acting skills within a few seconds. The rest of the movie was just about him cracking useless one-liners, looking over his shoulder, and flexing his muscles in a baniyan that would make the owners of "Rupa frontline" orgasm. Who knew that being cast as Groot in 'Guardians of the Galaxy' is the best use of his talents. Put him in a box and give him just one line to say. He can nail that. Journey 2: The Mysterious End Of My Career - The Rock Rockstar? Not anymore! © Pinterest Dwayne Johnson has done a lot of weird movies in the past. But who knew a man who also played Hercules would play the most unbelievable character ever in the ‘Fast and the Furious’? The man just can't be hurt. Even rubber bullets have no effect on his supernatural body. It's like his skin is made of Kevlar. Seriously dude! Who knew his best acting days were back in the WWF. I'm Going To Need An Italian Job After This - Jason Statham Crank had a better story than this. © Pinterest Jason continues to use every movie he acts in to show off his martial arts skills. It's always just a glorified advertisement. This time even more. But that's not the worst part. Jason Statham kicking ass is always fun to watch. But he's gone from an absolute badass in the last movie to a glorified babysitter of sorts in this one. At least this movie makes the ‘Expendables’ look like an Oscar film. Mad Max: End Of Furiosa - Charlize Theron Who thought such a hot Oscar winner would suck too? © Pinterest Who knew that after pulling off such a kick-ass character in a movie that she even overshadowed the protagonist whose name is in the title, this is where Charlize Theron would end up? We expect much more from an Oscar winner. Guess the poor acting skills of the entire cast wore off on her. There are times when she wasn't even trying. You could see it on her face. She didn't just want to leave the room in the shot; she wanted to leave the entire production. Straight Outta Compton, Straight Into The Trash - F. Gary Gray You can’t be so smug anymore Gary. © Pinterest For a man who was at the helm of one of the best movies of last year, he didn't try at all with this one. It's like Universal Pictures did this to throw the poor guy under the bus and then blew the bus up. Can't imagine that the same man who directed the ‘Italian Job’ could make such a piece of shit. Let-ty Me Out Of Here - Michelle Rodriguez This is probably what was happening inside Michelle Rodriguez’s head © Pinterest We bet Michelle was happy as ever when she learnt that her character died earlier in the series. She probably felt happy when she got a huge pay packet to return to the series. It's hard to imagine her smiling now though. The poor girl has come a long way from epic movie series like ‘Resident Evil’. Yes, even ‘Resident Evil’ looks like cinematic gold in front of this garbage. Epic brain fart! So save your money and do not venture anywhere near this movie unless you want to experience the worst migraine in your life.
  19. Milk a cow way too much and she’ll kick you in the face. With the ‘Fast and Furious’ series, the case is identical. They have been dragging the series way too far now. ‘Fast 7’ made millions riding off Paul Walker’s death and so did Vin Diesel. Truth be told, the franchise rightfully died with Paul Walker. With Jason Statham and box office almighty Dwayne Johnson, the makers thought that they could make another fortune. But looking at the latest trailer of ‘Fate Of The Furious’, it’s safe to say that the movie is going to be absolute trash. Alright, you got The Rock in there but still, what about the story? The intensity of the rivalry that was built up between Rock and Statham looks like comedy now. Don’t even talk about the stunts. A brief look at the trailer will convince you that they got the CGI done from an animation studio in Rajouri garden. The trailer gives out all the suspense as well. We are definitely not looking forward to it and strongly recommend you to do the same.
  20. Pranav Dhanawade shot to fame last year after he scored a mammoth 1009 runs not out in school cricket. Now, a year later the talented boy is in the news for a reason that will make you furious. Pranav has been arrested by the police and is presently detained. Why? Well, because the guy protested against the conversion of his cricket ground into a helipad for a minister’s arrival. As usual, dirty politics played out and the budding cricketers were left stranded with nowhere to go. Since the minister in question is BJP’S Prakash Javdekar, the kids had couldn’t figure out which authority to complain to and eventually had to stage a protest. Of course, they had to bear the brunt of it since it is India and there’s nobody above the corrupt ministers. The protest even turned a bit violent and Pranav was beaten up by the police and thrown behind bars without any valid reason.
  21. You heard that right. Azalea, a 19-year-old female chimpanzee in North Korea zoo, is addicted to smoking and puffs up to 20 cigarettes a day. The chimp can even light her own cigarette using a lighter, and has already been attracting a lot of visitors to the zoo. © AP Animal rights activists are fuming at the zoo authorities over the chain smoker chimpanzee. PETA president told ‘TIME’, "How cruel to willfully addict a chimpanzee to tobacco for human amusement. Gradually, zoos are learning that spectacles like chimpanzee tea parties, elephant rides and photo ops with tiger cubs are inappropriate and exploitive, with the big question now being, why are we keeping wild animals behind bars at all?" © AP But the zoo authorities claim that the chimp doesn’t really inhale the smoke, so it’s not as harmful for her. Guess they’ve never heard of passive smoking. We all know how chimps replicate human behaviour closely, but this went a tad too far. Clearly, we humans are a bad influence. View the full article
