  1. Hrithik Roshan is known as the ‘Greek God’ of the industry and he is also a heartthrob of Bollywood. He has given us some amazing films like Super 30 & War recently but in the past, he has done blunders just like any other Bollywood actor. He is one actor who has surprised us by keeping a well-toned body throughout his journey in Bollywood. Also, his fitness regime has often motivated his fans to become better and make a better physique. He gave his Bollywood debut with Amisha Patel in Kaho Na Pyaar Hai and the movie turned out to be a hit. The film left the audience impressed but then, he gave some flops that were total disasters and made the audience think twice before watching his films. Mohenjo Daro The film starred Hrithik Roshan and Pooja Hegde in the lead role. The story of the film revolves around a farmer who travels the city of Mohenjo Daro and grows to fall in love with a rich woman. The film was declared a flop as it didn’t make much money at the box-office and also couldn’t impress the audience. Kites The film starred Barbara Mori and Hrithik Roshan in the lead roles. The storyline of the film revolved around a dance teacher who marries an immigrant woman so that they could get a green card. But, when they meet again, they fall in love with each other. The film disappointed the audience and apart from the songs of the film audience didn’t find anything worthwhile. Mai Prem Ki Diwani Hun The Kareena Kapoor and Hrithik Roshan starrer film are still talked about and made fun of as both the actors overacted in the film. The film’s story wasn’t that bad but the movie turned out to be a cringe-fest due to Kareena Kapoor and Hrithik Roshan’s overacting in it. Mujhse Dosti Karoge The movie stars Hrithik Roshan, Kareena Kapoor and Rani Mukherji in the lead role. The film’s plot revolves around a bizarre storyline of how Raj falls in love with Tina after she writes him emails every day after he has moved overseas with his family. However, he is unaware that Pooja is the one writing the emails to him on Tina's behalf. The film couldn’t do numbers at the box-office and tanked badly. Aap Mujhe Achche Lagne Lage This film starred Hrithik Roshan and Amisha Patel in the lead roles. The film did not impress the audience at all and flopped at the box-office. The film revolves around the story of a girl who desires nothing more than love in life and wants to get married to Rohit (Hrithik Roshan) but her family doesn’t agree and created problems for them. Her father wants her to get married to a family friend’s son and would stop for nothing. View the full article
  2. Costumes speak volumes about characters in Bollywood movies. Be it, Ranveer Singh, playing the role of a mischievous Bittoo in devil may care attire or Sonam Kapoor acing the extravagant couture in Aisha, the eclectic wardrobes of celebrities strike a chord with the audiences and electrify the screen alike. Let's take a look at these seven movies that gave us the most memorable sartorial moments. 1. Bombay Velvet © Phantom films Even though Bombay Velvet tanked at the box office, the efforts of Niharika Khan, the costume designer, stood out. Since the movie is set in the late sixties, Anushka and Ranbir's costumes detailed the '60s pop culture. For the uninitiated, Anushka wore 140 costumes in this film. Think beaded, blingy gowns and long trains with intricate handwork and headpieces with gloves. The amalgamation of daring colours, dapper suits with brooches, and glamorous dresses, looked quite exquisite. 2. Bajirao Mastani © Sanjay Leela Bhansali Films The movie was a magnum opus, and the costumes used in the movie were nothing less than mesmerizing. Bajirao Mastani starring Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra Jonas, is a 'historical epic romance' showcasing beautiful costumes and accentuating the opulence of that period. Designer Anju Modi deserves a shoutout, for curating a wardrobe, adorned with intricate details that highlighted the nuances of each protagonist in the movie. 3. Goliyon Ki Raasleela - Ram Leela © Sanjay Leela Bhansali Films Sanjay Leela Bhansali has certainly made a mark in the industry to get a second mention within this category. It's almost unbelievable that he maintains the grandiosity of his characters in every film. Ram Leela is a turbulent love story and the costumes in this movie, even though relatable, has a unique elegance of their own. Be it Ranveer's dhoti pants coupled with vibrant shirts and jackets or Deepika's heavy lehengas, the vibrant hues made the movie immensely vibrant. The outfits were tailored to perfection and the meticulous work made it sartorially elaborate. 4. Gully Boy © Excel entertainment Director Zoya Akhtar sure pulled a neat 180 with a movie like Gully Boy. The movie was shot in the underbelly of Mumbai and in order to add authenticity and realism, costume designer Poornamrita Singh cut out the extravagance and showcased the reality from the streets of Mumbai. This made everything relatable for the masses. Think oversized jackets, basic T-shirts, sleek pants. Besides the music and screenplay of the film, the outfits played a big role in maintaining the gritty spirit of the film. 5. Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani © Dharma Productions Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani hit a jackpot at the box office and became one of the highest-grossing movies of all time. Kabir AKA Bunny, played by Ranbir in the movie garnered a huge fan base not just for his character, but also for the costumes donned by him in the film. The actor gave us definitive proof that nerdy glasses, ripped jeans, plaid shirts and elegant suits will never go out of style. Even Deepika's glamorous avatar in the latter half of the movie was highly lauded. Truly, Manish Malhotra and Samidha Wangnoo scored brownie points for this one. 6. Gangs Of Wasseypur © Anurag Kashyap Films When a movie is based on a gangster drama, you would expect the characters wearing fake wayfarers and lousy shirts. But, Anurag Kashyap's Gangs Of Wasseypur stands out even when it comes to the costumes of the film. Besides garnering a cult following for its iconic characters, dialogues, and music, the movie went on to make the humble 'Gamcha' famous, to such an extent that the whole cast flaunted it at the Cannes Film Festival and made an outlandish, rustic style statement. 7. Jodhaa Akbar © AGPPL © AGPPL The list would be incomplete without the mention of the historical drama, Jodhaa Akbar. Besides the riveting story, the movie is a sight to sore eyes when it comes to fashion. Set in the 16th century, the movie is about a love story between the Mughal Emperor and the Rajputana Princess, and they both did justice to their characters. Aishwarya's jewellery in the movie, made in actual gold and semi-precious stones, weighed almost 400 kg, while Hrithik's heavy headgears doused in pearls along with intricate traditional attire were some of finest picks of costume designer Neeta Lulla, when it comes to royal menswear. 3. India has a long and rich tradition of poems and lyrics. It wonât be farfetched to say that we have produced some of the best lyricists ever to have walked the earth. Be it Javed Akhtar, or Gulzar sa'ab, or even someone like Sahir Ludhianvi, we have had so many great lyricists, with such a wide body of work, that it is actually impossible to keep a track of their greatness. © BCCL Still, why not make an attempt at it? We have jotted down the names of a few lyricists who have produced an amazing body of work over the years, and whoâre still going at it. As a result, we cannot factor in the greats like Anand Bakshi, or Majrooh Sultanpuri. © Filmfare Now, we have to address the fact, that there have been blotches every now and then, especially with the current crop of âartistsâ who think that they have revolutionized Indian music with their music and cringe-worthy lyrics. © Twitter/its_badshah But by and large, we have a rich and colourful history. Here are a few lyricists that have contributed immensely to that history. Javed Akhtar (About 1200 Songs) © BCCL Javed Akhtar has been writing since the 70s, an era where scriptwriters werenât given credit in a film, so naturally, lyricists were far down the pecking order. Only when a really notable poet would write lyrics for a song, would it get publicised. In a career spanning almost 5 decades, Javed Akhtar has given us some seriously amazing lyrics to some of the most iconic songs. We reckon that he has probably given us more than 1500, or perhaps even 1800 songs. However, because giving credit to struggling writers wasnât even a consideration back in the 70s, we cannot say for sure. Shitala Pandey aka Sameer Anjaan(Over 4000 Songs) © Wiki Commons If you grew up during the 90s and could read, anytime you picked a cassette case, and read the name of the lyricist of any given sing, you would always find the line âLyrics By Sameer.â So much so, that there was a joke which said that Sameerâs first name was âLyrics By.â Lame jokes aside, Sameer Anjaan has the most credits as a lyricist to his name. As of 2015, he has written songs for over 650 Bollywood films, and a total of 3500 songs. As of 2019, he has over 4000 songs to his credit. Gulzar (Over 1000 Songs) © BCCL Gulzar saâab has a way with words that is simply mesmerising. You really cannot explain effect his lyrics have, they are something that you just have to experience. He has been writing lyrics since 1961. That is a career spanning nearly 60 years. A part of the Progressive Writers Association, Gulzar saâab has always chosen quality over quantity, and weâre really glad for that. Till date, he has written songs for well over 200 films Prasoon Joshi (Circa 400 Songs) © Wiki Commons The man who has given us some of the most iconic advertisements in India, and who now heads the CBFC, Prasoon Joshi had a rather short career as a proper lyricist. We genuinely wish that after his stint as the chairperson for CBFC, he starts writing lyrics again. In spite of being immensely popular, and very much in demand, Prasoon Joshi was very selective with his projects. In total, he has written songs for about 50 films in total. Irshad Kamil (Over 450 Songs) © IMDb Next, we have Irshad Kamil. Irshad is a poet who has been writing lyrics since 2004. Of the current lot of lyricists, he is one of the most in-demand lyricists. He started his Bollywood career with Sudhir Mishraâs Chameli so that should tell you enough, just how capable he has been. Amitabh Bhattacharya (Over 300 Songs) © IMDb And finally, we have Amitabh Bhattacharya, one of the most promising lyricists that we have today. Although he wanted to be known mainly as a singer, it was his lyrics that actually made the mark for him. He remains one of the most celebrated lyricists ever and has also won the prestigious National Film Awards for his work. Because he started out in 2008 and has mostly worked with a very close circle, the number of songs he has written is as high. However, weâre pretty sure that weâre just seeing him getting started. 4. While talking about Bollywood A-listers, the only thing that comes to mind is that these are some of the most successful, superhit-producing actors of the Hindi film industry. However, the reality couldnât be more different. While itâs true that they have a lot of blockbusters to their name, many Bollywood A-listers also have some of the worst performing films to their credit as well. Here are 8 such top Bollywood actors who have also given some of the most negatively reviewed movies in Bollywood. Based on IMDB ratings of 3.5 and below, here are 8 A-listers who made it to the list. 1. Akshay Kumar © UTV Motion Pictures Akshay Kumar, who is hailed as the âKhiladiâ of Bollywood also happens to be one of the leading Bollywood actors with one of the worst Bollywood films to his credit. Akshayâs Tees Maar Khan starring Katrina Kaif made the audience cry tears of blood given how shitty the plot and the concept was. 2. Hrithik Roshan © Emkay Films After Hrithikâs debut Kaho Na Pyaar Hai did wonders at the box office, Vikram Bhatt must have thought the star jodi would recreate the charm with Aap Mujhe Ache Lagne Lage. However, he was up for some major disappointment because the film tanked and how! 3. Ajay Devgn © Eros International Who would have imagined Ajay Devgn would top the list with the MOST number of negatively reviewed Bollywood movies? Well, as the facts have it, three of Ajayâs films, namely Himmatwala, Ram Gopal Varma Ki Aag and Rascals happen to be some of the biggest flops of Ajayâs career. 4. Salman Khan © Salman Khan Films Although we totally agree that Race 3 deserves to grace this list for being the most ridiculous and sham of a film, it turns out that isnât the biggest flop of Salmanâs career. As per the ratings, Me & Mrs Khanna, starring Kareena Kapoor Khan, is one of Salmanâs worst performing films ever. 5. Saif Ali Khan © Fox Star Studios 2013 hadnât really been a very bad year for Saif on the professional front. With four movie releases that year, including Race 2, we wonder why on earth he decided to settle for Humshakals. Experimenting is fine, but the combo of crass humour and slapstick comedy in this stupid film surely did no good to him. 6. Priyanka Chopra © Baweja Movies There is no forgetting this mega failure of a film titled Love Story 2050. Starring PeeCee and Harman Baweja, this movie was such a tragedy, we bet Priyanka wouldnât mind erasing this âfuturisticâ romance flick from the face of the earth. We personally wouldnât mind that either. 7. Ranveer Singh © Yash Raj Films Rated 2.4, Gunday probably doesnât even deserve a rating of more than 1.5 rotten eggs. Right from Ranveer and Arjunâs oiled bodies throughout the film, to the shitty screenplay and Arjun Kapoorâs ridiculous acting, this one definitely deserves to be on the list. 8. Tiger Shroff © Balaji Motion Pictures Tiger has two flop movies to his name on this list - Munna Michael and Flying Jatt. Letâs not even get to the acting part because come on, weâre talking about Tiger here and he has no relation to acting whatsoever. Whatâs even more disappointing (for him) is that even his kicks and punches couldnât save the show. Got any movie by Bollywood A-listers that you particularly hate? 5. As the world continues to struggle with curbing the spread of coronavirus, we have been hit by two successive jolts that have left the country in shock and grief. Irrfan Khan and Rishi Kapoor, though very different in their approach to the craft of acting, have left voids that canât be filled by others. And while we were still grieving the legends by revisiting their masterpieces, we came across a poignant video on YouTube, where Irrfan Khan talks about life, death, spirituality and much more. © YouTube/Anand Gandhi Uncanny as it may seem now, as soon as the conversation starts, Irrfan brings up the topic of death - trying to understand Asha Jadejaâs perspective on whether death is beyond understanding. Asha Jadeja is the wife of Rajeev Motwani, who was one of the first advisors of Google. Asha offers a rather interesting insight on how she coped with her husbandâs death by looking out for signals. © YouTube/Anand Gandhi The conversation freewheels into how the society has become consumeristic and drifted away from spirituality with some profound insights from Irrfan. Citing an example from his childhood, Irrfan explains how the epiphany struck him that he was a mere device of all the information and influences around him and how we are all, as a society, designed to work like that. What stood out for me though and can really give anyone goosebumps is the way Irrfan wraps the conversation up: Irrfan says, âSometimes we have the audacity to understand reality. Thatâs the energy which has created you - you cannot look back and understand it. Itâs unknowable and you should be easy with that uncertainty and the unknowable. We have this sense of being, but we are nothing. Maybe the consciousness is experiencing itself through us.â Though eerie to see him talking about life and death, the note on which he ends this video not only gives some solace in dealing with his loss, it also comes as some much-needed reflection amidst these testing times of isolating from the world. 6. âLove is blindâ is a very common saying that we hear every other day from someone or the other. But, lately, weâve also realized that the world is a strange place and every new day is a competition to the birth of an even stranger incident. Now, coming to the point, we recently found out that at the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust people were surprised when a zebra gave birth to a zonkey. Yes! A zonkey is a hybrid baby of zebra and a donkey. © Facebook/The Shledrick Wildlife Trus A little confusing but true! The Sheldrick Wildlife Trust took to social media and wrote, âLast May, the SWT/KWS Tsavo Mobile Veterinary Unit received a call from the KWS Community Warden at Mutomo Station. A stray zebra ventured out of the Tsavo East National Park, and into a community bordering the park. She made herself right at home there, becoming an honorary member of a local womanâs cattle herd. This situation continued for many weeks until the story was aired on local media, and then our team was asked to help translocate the zebra back to a protected area.â Checkout the full post here- She was later translocated to Kenze Anti-poaching teamâs base in Chulu National Park. However, this year the team found the zebra with a tiny foal. After a few weeks, they recognized the pair properly and figured out the real scenario. Now, as we earlier mentioned, âlove is blindâ and the zebra might have fallen in love with a donkey. © Facbook/Sheldrick Wildlife Trust Sounds unusual but if you look back at the life choices you have made when it comes to falling in love, you wouldnât find zebraâs choice that strange! Zonkey is a rare hybrid between a zebra and a donkey which means its opposite of âRab Ne Bana Di Jodiâ. Later on, the workers connected the dots and figured out how a zonkey was born. © Unsplash Turns out, according to the trust,âDuring her time living within the community last year, she had obviously become acquainted with an amorous donkey. The zonkey combines the sturdy body of its donkey sire and the striped legs of its zebra mother, which makes for a striking creature. While it should otherwise lead a normal life, zonkeys are mules, meaning that it will be unable to successfully breed once it reaches maturity.â However, the mother and the baby are healthy and living a good life. Also, the wonders of nature donât always give us what we want and will surprise you every day! View the full article

  9. There are two types of people in this world, one who end up taking jobs and one who actually follow their passion. Speaking of Bollywood actors, there have been a couple of them who chose acting above their first careers, leaving behind corporate, lucrative jobs, for which they were highly-qualified, obviously. Here's a compiled list of celebrities who gave up their well-paid jobs and pursued acting: 1. Ranveer Singh © Instagram/Ranveer Singh Even though Ranveer Singh always wanted to be an actor, he ensured that he went all the way with his educational qualifications. He completed his studies from H R College of Commerce and Economics in Mumbai and further pursued his Bachelor's Degree from Indiana University in Bloomington. Before he began acting, he was working as a copywriter and has worked with major ad agencies like O&M and JWT. And then he gave us his debut in 2007 with Anushka Sharma in Band Baaja Baarat. 2. Parineeti Chopra © Instagram/Parineeti Chopra Parineeti Chopra also has an impressive educational background. With her brilliant acting chops, this actress has already amazed us with several of her impressive works like Ishaqzaade and Ladies vs Ricky Bahl. At 17, she moved to London and got her triple honours degree in business, economics and finance from the Manchester Business School in London. Before acting, Parineeti worked as a public relations consultant with Yash Raj Studio where she applied for an internship in the marketing department. What followed this was her big break and the start of her new career as an actor. 3. Vicky Kaushal © Instagram/Vicky Kaushal Ace actor, Vicky Kaushal is not just a versatile actor but his impressive education background has left us stunned. This young actor, who gave up engineering for acting, graduated in electronics and telecommunications in 2008. Vicky was placed by several reputed firms and yet he refused it all. He began to pursue his career in acting and started with theatre, where he acted in workshops before he took up roles. You would remember him starting with small works but then came his big break with Masaan, where he won our hearts and received heaps of accolades for his role. 4. John Abraham © Instagram/John Abraham John Abraham might be off Bollywood's grid at the moment, but even he gave up his lucrative job to try his hand at acting. He received his Bachelor degree in economics from Jai Hind and later, went onto pursue Masters in Management Sciences, Mumbai Educational trust. This was in 1998. Initially, he started with modelling, but then entered an ad agency named Enterprises- Nexus and worked there as a media planner. 5. Sonakshi Sinha © Instagram/Sonakshi Sinha If you have observed, Sonakshi Sinha has been pretty on point with her fashion game and that's also because of her educational background. Sonakshi received her degree in designing from Shreemati Nathibai Damodar Thackersey Womenâs University, Mumbai. She worked as a costume designer and stylist for several movies. She came into the limelight post her ramp walk at the Lakme Fashion Week. Post that, she was offered a lead role in Dabangg, along with Salman Khan. 6. Randeep Hooda © Instagram/Randeep Hooda Randeep Hooda has made an impact in B-town with his impeccable acting prowess but he also has a strong educational background. With a handful of degrees, Randeep went to Melbourne to pursue higher studies. He did his Bachelor's and Masters in business and human resource management. Once he returned to his roots, he worked in a marketing firm before his debut in 2001. 7. Taapsee Pannu © Instagram/Taapsee Pannu Before she became an actress with a penchant for strong roles in Bollywood, Tapsee Pannu was a software engineer. She completed her graduation from Guru Tegh Bahadur Institute of Technology, New Delhi. To enter the world of B-town, she first auditioned for the Channel V show Get Gorgeous which led her straight to her Bollywood debut in Pink as a lead actress. View the full article
  10. One of Indiaâs biggest threats when it comes to fighting the Coronavirus pandemic in the subcontinent, is the countryâs low COVID-19 testing numbers. Even as the Director-General of the WHO advised all the affected countries to âtest, test, testâ on every other citizen, India has only been testing people with foreign travel history or those who have been exposed to confirmed Coronavirus patients. The major reason why weâre facing this situation is that India has limited testing facilities. Or so was the case until very recently. Because now, a Pune-based virologist named Minal Dakhave Bhosale has successfully developed Indiaâs first, low-cost COVID-19 testing kit which is being hailed as a game-changer for Indiaâs fight against Coronavirus. Who Is Minal Dakhabe Bhosale © Twitter Minal is a virologist who works with a Pune-based molecular diagnostics company named Mylab Discovery Solutions as their Research and Development Chief. Reportedly, Minal was eight months pregnant and had just come home from a pregnancy-related complication when she took up the project to create the first âmade in Indiaâ coronavirus testing kit - âPatho Detectâ. Minal was heading a 10-member team and handled major proceedings remotely from home since February this year. She, along with her dedicated team, worked non-stop to develop the testing kit in a record six weeksâ time, given the countryâs growing need to test more people for the Coronavirus infection. © Twitter Minal submitted the fully-finished kit for evaluation at the National Institute of Virology in Pune on 18th March. And as fate would have it, the very next day she gave birth to her daughter through C-section. But even an hour before she was to leave for the hospital, Minal submitted her proposal to the Indian FDA and CDSCO seeking commercial approval. She got it all right in the first go, got the necessary clearances and gave India a much-needed weapon to fight Coronavirus. What Makes This Testing Special © BCCL - LinkedIN Not only has this development come as a ray of hope for Indians, the kit developed by Minal and her team also comes with its own salient features that make it invaluable. This COVID-19 testing kit can reportedly test 100 samples per kit and would cost one-fourth the price at Rs 1,200 as opposed to Rs 4,500 imported testing kits cost. Thatâs not all. Indiaâs COVID-19 testing kit is capable of giving correct diagnostic results in just two and a half hours as opposed to the six or seven hours imported test kits take. Whatâs more, the kit can also indicate potentially positive cases among asymptomatic patients What This Means © BCCL The first few batches of kits developed by Minal and her team have already been sent out to diagnostic laboratories in major Indian cities. The director of the manufacturing company of the COVID-19 kits, Mylab Discovery, told BBC that the company can supply up to 100,000 kits in a week and push it up to 200,000 if needed. This week will see more kits reaching many other labs and take-up Indiaâs much-needed testing numbers higher. Talking about the feat, Minal told BBC, "It was an emergency, so I took this on as a challenge. I have to serve my nation." Given the dire need to scale up the number of random testing of Coronavirus in India, 'Mylab PathoDetect COVID-19 Qualitative PCR kit' can not only help with early diagnosis but also help bring down the number of fatalities in the process. Kudos to Minal Bhosale and her team for their terrific work! View the full article
  11. We all know that star kids get as much attention as any other B-town celebrity. Even if they are not a part of the movie industry just yet, the paparazzi always ensure they are snapped and this gives us an insight into what their lives are like. Having said that, with a majority of star kids out there, Aryan Khan, Shah Rukh Khan's son, has never failed to amaze us. He has been in the spotlight for a while now and even though he hasn't marked his debut yet, we are constantly updated about his whereabouts through social media. What makes his feed even catchier, is the fact that most of the pictures that he posts remind us of Shah Rukh Khan. Be it his looks or his way of dressing, Aryan clearly knows how to ace all sorts of silhouettes and give fierce competition to his father with his fashion game. Here's a compiled list of all the times when Aryan Khan aced the fashion arena with his sartorial eccentricities. View this post on Instagram Happy Mothers day #gaurikhan A post shared by Aryan Khan (@__aryan____) on May 12, 2019 at 12:07am PDT 1. Remember the time when we spotted all celebrities at Akash Ambani's engagement party? Well, our favourite star kid wasn't far behind in the fashion league. This well-fitted blue suit with a black-tie, shows that he is truly King Khan's son as he knows how to elevate his style statement, no matter where he goes. View this post on Instagram #suhanakhan #shahrukhkhan #aryankhan #gaurikhan #abramkhan #ananyapanday #saraalikhan #janvikapoor #iamsrk #naturephotography#naturalhair A post shared by Aryan Khan (@__aryan____) on May 24, 2019 at 9:41am PDT The saying 'like father, like son', is seen quite explicitly in this picture. This one, for example, is encapsulated quite well with a leather bomber jacket topped with denim pants and a basic T-shirt. On the other hand, SRK's way of wearing the jacket with cargo pants is relatable too. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Aryan Khan (@__aryan____) on Mar 17, 2019 at 8:19pm PDT We cannot take our eyes off that jawline. Add to that, oversized orange jacket for winter days, sums up this picture in the most pleasing manner. While we have seen SRK wearing such silhouettes, this one from Aryan's closet, shows where he gets his inspiration from. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Aryan Khan (@__aryan____) on Jul 1, 2018 at 8:37am PDT Balenciaga sock sneakers are hands down the most versatile pair of sneakers we have seen and it looks like the trend of wearing them runs in the Khan family. A look at this picture and you would see how Aryan, AbRam and SRK are all wearing the same sock sneakers in different colours. This is beyond words for us! View this post on Instagram A post shared by Aryan Khan (@__aryan____) on Jan 28, 2018 at 3:04am PST Aryan looks like SRK's spitting image in this one. Also, the way he is sporting the smart casual outfit is truly raising the temperature. A white shirt with undone buttons, layered with a black blazer is an instant way to stand out. If this is not tempting enough, we don't know what is! View this post on Instagram A post shared by Aryan Khan (@__aryan____) on Mar 24, 2020 at 7:30am PDT Aryan clearly doesn't need any more fashion lessons as he has already struck a chord with us with his choices. This one, where he has layered a grey denim jacket over an oversized Givenchy red hoodie and camouflage pants is athleisure fashion at its best. Hats off! View the full article
  12. There's not been so much build-up for a Bollywood movie in a long time as much as there has been for Brahmastra. 13. It was a dark Monday in Delhi yesterday. The national capital wasnât on its best behaviour and that cost us the lives of people who didnât deserve to die. As fresh clashes broke out in parts of East Delhi between pro- and anti-CAA protestors early on Monday morning, police officers at the nearest Gokulpuri police station stepped up to calm the protestors and bring peace and order back into the streets of East Delhi. © Twitter Little did Delhi Police Head Constable Ratan Lal know that this would be his last time donning the uniform he cherished. As Ratan Lal stepped onto the streets and faced the enraged mob of protesters, pelting stones and showering bullets, he didnât know it would take his life for people to see the gravity of the situation. Head Constable Ratan Lal was trying to bring the protestors under control when things went out of hand, and he was severely injured in the head while trying to perform his duty, and protect his boss from getting hurt while at it. © Twitter Here is what we know about the brave cop who laid down his life for the sake of peace, and duty towards people. 1. Head Constable Ratan Lal was 42-years-old and hailed from Tihawali Village in Fatehpur, Sikar in Rajasthan. Born into a middle-class family, he was the eldest amongst the four brothers and sister. 2. A true patriot, Ratan Lal always wanted to join the forces, don the uniform and serve his country. It was back in 1998 when he joined the Delhi police as a constable. © Twitter 3. He was posted at the Gokulpuri Police Station and attached to the office of the ACP. 4. He married his wife Poonam in 2004 in Jaipur and the couple had three young children together. 5. Ratan Lalâs eldest daughter Siddhi is merely 13, while her younger siblings Kanak and Ram are just 10 and 8-years-old respectively. 6. Ratan Lal lived with his family in Amrit Vihar Colony in Burari, while the kids attended Delhi Police Public school in the area. © Twitter 7. Friends and acquaintances say Ratan Lal was a calm, peace-loving man who hated conflicts and arguments. 8. Reportedly, Ratan Lal was killed near Dayalpur police station during the stone-pelting incident when it peaked during noon yesterday. However, word has it that he may have been shot in the head which resulted in his death. 9. While speaking to NDTV, Ratan Lalâs younger brother Dinesh said, "He was the reader of the Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) of Gokulpuri. He had just accompanied the ACP, but the mob surrounded him and killed him." 10. According to TOI, Ratan Lal was known as a brave cop in his department and had led many raids conducted by Gokulpuri police over the last few years. © Twitter 11. One of Ratan Lalâs colleagues told TOI that Lal would always sign up for difficult and dangerous assignments. He added, âHe was instrumental in nabbing the accused in a gruesome rape of two tribal women in 2013 and in an act of vandalism committed by a group of wrestlers at a restaurant in Seemapuri.â 12. Back in his village in Sikar, people are demanding a âmartyrâ status for Ratan Lal and that he be put to rest with full state honours. They have also asked for the government school in their village to be named after Lal. © Twitter The braveheart and devoted officer has left behind a devastated family behind for no fault of his, and perhaps this should be our wake up alarm to see what we may have gotten wrong while trying to safeguard our rights while taking away anotherâs right to safe and long life by taking the law into our hands. Violent protests will never bring us the right answers. View the full article

  15. When it comes to turning heads with casual ensembles, Aditya Roy Kapur hardly makes a wrong move. His sartorial choices are simple and effortless which make it easier for us to take notes from his zany style. But, recently, instead of going the mainstream way, we saw Kapur making an avant-garde statement, as he walked down the ramp for Chola, at Lakme Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2020. © Viral Bhayani The brand recently came together with Reebok to create high impact and add more oomph factor to the street style aesthetics of the ensembles. With Chola's silhouettes and Reebok's transformative Zig Kinetica, the overall show was minimal and had a hint of mystery to it with its colour palette. © Viral Bhayani Chola's recent collection included extraordinary silhouettes with Ninja theme. It's reflective of the brand's aesthetics which speaks about easy and contemporary fashion. Moreover, the styles showed the subtlety of tribal prints which stays true to the label's signature style. That's not it. To bring in more drama to these ensembles, the collaboration with Reebok's Zig Kinetica raised the style stakes even higher. © Viral Bhayani © Viral Bhayani Chola as a label has, time and again, spoken out loud about gender-neutral fashion, featuring deconstructed tailoring, versatile jacket styles and oversized silhouettes and has proved that there's no inherence of gender when it comes to clothing. Even for the recent collection, we saw flowy silhouettes further revolutionised with baggy drop-crotch pants and right sort of layering. All the garbs were experientially amplified with Reebok's shoes. © Viral Bhayani Coming to collaboration, the ZigTech technology of this collection was originally introduced back in 2010 with innovative and disruptive design. The recent styles are high on functionality and can seamlessly transition into all sorts of wardrobe which makes it a worthy choice. The overall aesthetics of this edit blended well with Chola's immaculately made contemporary designs. © Viral Bhayani As far as Aditya's ensemble goes, this monochrome, desi look steered clear of normcore fashion. The black shirt teamed with baggy drop-crotch pants, featuring a loose belt is a true masterpiece due to its modern structure and light fabric. What's more, the shoes with vibrant orange outsole rounded off this ensemble with total suaveness. All in all, this is perhaps the zaniest way to rock an all-black ensemble. Keep up the game, Aditya! 16. Decisions donât get the kind of importance they should. The entire prospect has gained such a flavour of triviality that you and I have come to take this âpowerâ vested upon us for granted. There is power in decisions to change lives, alter realities and make one's wildest dreams come to life. All it took for four-time CrossFit Games champ Vedharth Thappa, was such a decision that helped him carve out his own path and go places. Vedharth is currently the only Indian to be representing the country at the 2020 CrossFit Games in the US, and has won the title of fittest 'CrossFit man in India' for the past three years consecutively. However, it was during his engineering days that he stumbled upon CrossFit which allowed him to stay fit within a tight academic schedule. His experience with CrossFit had such a deep impact on him, that Vedharth decided to switch to fitness full-time. The Big Decision It was his new-found love for CrossFit that pushed Vedharth to take the big leap of deciding to give up his family business in favour of making it big in the fitness industry and focus on the CrossFit Games. Talking about these life-altering decisions Vedharth told MensXP, âAt 21 when I opened my first gym and was certainly unaware of business ethics and what it takes to have a successful business. I devoted all my time and efforts towards building what I believed in and worked tirelessly towards achieving it.â The Journey So Far When it comes to staying fit, Vedharth says that his regular fitness routine involves âtwo sessions a day for about 90-120 minutes each, five times a week. Like they say, fitness is a combination of exercise and proper nutrition, hence I equally dial into my food and try not to eat things that do not help me reach my goals.â View this post on InstagramOld jungle saying :-Find what youâd die for and live for it. #Lifestyle #living #FearandgreedA post shared by (@vedharththappaofficial) Additionally, Vedharth also adds that mental health is of utmost importance to him. 17. 2019 marked a fantastic boom in Indian publishing, especially for non-fiction titles - several publishers reported great renewed interest as the Indian readerâs curiosity kept bringing them back to bookshelves time and time again. Several gifted authors also produced works of merit that received widespread national and international acclaim - here are some of the very best we saw across 2019. The Absent Dialogue: Politicians, Bureaucrats, and the Military in India - Amit Mukherjee © Oxford University Press/Brookings Institution Informed by more than a hundred and fifty interviews and recently available archival material, The Absent Dialogue sheds new light on India's military and will reshape our understanding of both the history and contemporary dynamics of civil-military relations and recurring problems therein. A must-read for anyone curious about the state of our military bureaucracy today, and how it came to be. How to Win an Indian Election: What Political Parties Don't Want You to Know - Shivam Shankar Singh © Twitter/Penguin India Singh was a campaign strategist for the BJP in 2014. After he resigned, he publicly spoke about how they deal in fake news and censorship, creating quite the uproar in 2018. His book reveals an inside view of just how political parties use data analytics, political consultants and what goes on in the forbidden election war-rooms of Indiaâs political heavyweights. The book is invaluable for its extensively researched content, personal anecdotes and exclusive interviews. Wasted: The Messy Story of Sanitation in India, A Manifesto for Change - Ankur Bisen © Pan MacMillian India/Twitter Urban India generates close to 3 million trucks of untreated garbage every day. If these were laid end-to-end, one could reach half way to the moon - but just how did we get so dirty? Questions such as these, and a deep exploration of Indiaâs most obvious everyday problem present themselves in Wasted. Bisen aims to help people understand the complex, cast-driven dynamics behind sanitation and the invisible socio-political pressures that keep us from being a true âSwacch Bharatâ. A must read for those interested in policy, civil planning and the environment. The Patient Assassin - Anita Anand © Simon & Schuster/Sukhi Dhanda The dramatic true story of Udham Singh, a young orphan survivor of the Jallianwala Bagh massacre of 1919, and his ferocious 20-year campaign of revenge that made him a hero to hundreds of millions. Anandâs book is voraciously researched and reads much like a dramatic thriller - taking us through a long journey from the blood-soaked earth of Amritsar to Africa, the United States and finally to London, where Singh finally finds his target. ISRO's Magnificent Women and Their Flying Machines - Minnie Vaid ©Twitter/Speaking Tiger Through a combination of Bollywood and the recent public interest upsurge in ISRO, many of us came to know that a huge part of Indiaâs space programme is frontlined by women. Vaidâs book helps draw light towards the challenges and triumphs experienced by ISROâs female scientists. Itâs also been recently updated to include a bit about the 2019 Chandrayaan-2 mission, and a bit of speculation about the future of ISRO and careers in science for Indiaâs women. Straight to Normal - Sharif D. Rangnekar © Twitter/Rupa Publications One of the most honest, gritty and upfront autobiographies written by an Indian in recent years, Rangnekarâs story takes us through the 1970s to the modern LGBT revolution in India, charting a course through years of confusion, fear, depression and ultimately self-discovery and acceptance. Itâs a work written in deep retrospection and has been described in the authorâs own words as the story of âgaining an identity but losing a near lifetime, looking for love and companionship.â Behind Bars In Byculla: My Days In Prison - Jigna Vora © Twitter/Penguin India One of the most fascinating premises for any true story, Behind Bars In Byculla charts crime reporter Jigna Voraâs journey as a jailed suspect in connection to the underworld elites of Bombay. Covering seven years of jail time, courtroom sessions and her final days before acquittal, Voraâs story is incredibly fascinating. Particularly interesting are the interviews and conversations she had as a crime reporter behind bars, crossing paths with fallen socialites, gambling donnas and even Pragya Thakur. So while Varun would never choose to wear something bizarre, his outfits still manage to stand out from the crowd in the most unique ways. Especially, now that he's promoting his soon-to-be releasing film Street Dancer 3D, and on top of that his upcoming project Mr. Lele has also been announced. 20. The 77th Golden Globe Awards just took place in Hollywood and we weren't shocked with the results. Well, at least not where Joaquin Phoenix was concerned! The actor won a Golden Globe for best actor in a motion picture drama for his role as a troubled Arthur Fleck in Joker. While winning the award is one thing, giving one hell of an acceptance speech is another and that's exactly what Phoenix ended up doing at the Beverly Hills Hotel. After acknowledging his fellow nominees in his speech, Phoenix, who has never been keen on award shows as such said- "There is no F***ing best actor". © Twitter He also went on to thank Todd Philips, the writer and director of Joker and also said, "I'm such a pain in the ass, I cannot believe you put up with me.” in his speech. Even though a lot of his speech was bleeped while he was on stage (since he used a lot of 'F-word'), he nailed the way he delivered every aspect of it. The words chosen and the sentiments behind those words, everything was appreciated not just by the audience present there but by the Twitter world as well. "Contrary to popular belief I don't want to rock the boat. The boat is fucking rocked," is one of the things he said. Phoenix even talked about climate change where he thanked the Hollywood Foreign Press Association for its meat-free meal, while stating "recognizing and acknowledging the link between animal agriculture and climate change. It's a very bold move, making tonight plant-based,” "We don't have to take private jets to Palm Springs ... I'll try to do better, and I hope you will too." the vegan actor added. © warner Bros Pictures Not only did Phoenix think the awards are quite useless in general, he also talked about social issues everyone should be concentrating on currently. And he did all this while still celebrating the work of his fellow nominees. Quite an actor, if I may say so myself! Obviously the Twitter fraternity lauded his speech and praised it to no extent! But, it's the holiday season, and he knows when to take a break. For a Christmas party, he was spotted along with Alia Bhatt in what looked like mismatched shoes. He was, in fact, wearing Travis Scott x Air Jordan 1. While the shoes look like two different silhouettes from a distance, if you look closely, they're in fact the same silhouette designed to look that way. The shoes have a leather texture and the inner sole is complemented with the cactus jack label. The intricate details of this pair are complemented with the different laces that make it more apparent. 25. We all make mistakes and we all learn, at least we try to. Our favourite Bollywood stars are no different. While this movie making factory dishes out movies like crazy with so many new faces to experiment with, some movies only work for the beloved super stars acting in them. After all, loyalty has a price. However, some movies saw some of the biggest stars losing their senses and pelting out such bad performances that it legit hurt their fans. Here are six movies where some of the best actors gave really bad performances: 1. Love Story 2050 Our 'desi' girl is a global icon today with volumes of great works that speak for her. When she is not slaying on the red carpet or working on a good project, she is spotted in some virtual PDA with her beloved husband Nick Jonas. However, long before PeeCee became a Hollywood star, Love Story 2050 saw her dishing out a bad performance and as per rumours, it was reportedly because of her not-so-good relationship with her ex-flame Harman Baweja. 2. Khushi Bebo is one gorgeous actor who can look fiery and dish out immensely fiery performances in equal measure. However, it is a known fact that in her initial days of Bollywood, she signed some of the random projects but Khushi kind of tops the list, because what was that performance, you queen? 3. RGV Ki Aag You are not supposed to touch master pieces like Sholay because that is like playing with fire. And looks like, this is exactly what RGV wanted to do when he made this dud and managed to make BIG B look so intensely bored in this movie, that it probably made it to his regret list soon enough. 4. Aap Mujhe Acche Lagne Lage There is a reason why Hrithik Roshan is known as a Greek God. Those looks, that ripped body and a talent house of wonderful acting, I have no idea what went into him prepping up for this movie where nothing at all looked good to us. Why, Hrithik? 5. Besharam Ranbir Kapoor's work speaks for him. With tremendous acting done by this genius of an actor in films like Rockstar and Barfi, this movie has no explanation of how it landed in his kitty and why! 6. Dil Ne Jisse Apna Kaha Salman Khan's screen presence is strong enough to get the cash registers ringing but we have no logical explanation for what went into him doing this movie with Preity Zinta and Bhumika Chawla. Three good looking people, one badly written script. So glad that bhai is back to doing Dabangg and entertain us in a way which only he can do. View the full article
