  1. The gruesome details of the gang-rape and murder of an eight-year-old girl last year in Kathua, Jammu and Kashmir, still haunts us and sends shivers down our spine. However, the heartless perpetrators still continue committing heinous crimes against children, the intensity of which boils our blood. In a gut-wrenching incident from Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, a three-year-old girl was allegedly strangled to death and her eyes were gouged out. Thinkstock Photos Reports state that this happened over a loan of Rs. 10,000, which her parents allegedly failed to pay. The girl had gone missing on May 31, and her body was recovered from a dumping ground near her house on June 2. According to reports, the girl's mutilated body was found after a pack of dogs was spotted carrying what appeared to be human body parts. Aligarh: Body of 2.5-year-old girl was found in Tappal area on May2. SSP Aligarh says,'Case of kidnapping was registered with police on May 31. Post-mortem report has revealed death by strangulation, no signs of rape, a case of personal enmity; 2 men arrested. Probe on' (05/06) pic.twitter.com/DP0HaUzHsI — ANI UP (@ANINewsUP) June 6, 2019 The cops have arrested two accused, who also happen to be the girl's neighbours. Even since this inhumane act came into the limelight, the entire nation has come forward in expressing their outrage on social media, and offer their support and condolences to the child's grieving family. Pexels From Abhishek Bachchan to Sunny Leone, Bollywood celebrities have also come forward to condemn the brutal incident and express their anger towards the society, where even kids aren't safe to live in. Twitter Twitter Twitter Twitter Twitter Twitter Twitter Although certain reports and tweets state that the child was raped, according to initial investigations and the post-mortem reports, no signs of rape have been found on the child's body so far. We'll update you once we get more details on the progress of the investigation in this matter.
  2. Whether you wish to get to know this girl in your class or want to be friends with the lively girl in your office who makes those eight hours look less dreary all of a sudden, the first step is to be able to get her to notice you. However, it's a lot easier said than done, and for obvious reasons too. More often than not, guys have a hard time going up to women and introducing themselves good-naturedly without seeming like a creep. © Dharma Productions However, things need not always be that way for men. A lot of times, men genuinely wish to get to know a woman and are honestly interested in giving it a shot and see where things will go. But a number of inhibitions and 'concerns' burden their minds, and deter them from following through with their original plans. But fret not, we have some really quick, not-at-all-awkward and “safe” ways of catching that woman's attention you are pining after. Check out these 6 easy ways of getting noticed by a girl without losing your mind over it: 1. Share A Smile (Or Five) That's the very first one that you should try. And honestly, that's also the safest way. A smile can never rub someone the wrong way, unless you are passing her a sleazy smile. But apart from that, sharing a confident smile every time you come face to face with them is just about the right way of starting things. © Red Chillis Entertainment 2. Attend To Her Before you think of anything else, no we're not talking about carrying her shopping bags for her or something (though that's always a nice touch), but what we really mean is that pay attention to what she says and does, when you share her company. Women notice when someone is being attentive towards them, and that always ends well. 3. Reciprocate Whenever necessary, make the effort of reciprocating her gestures and behaviour towards you. Reciprocating or mirroring the other person always catches their attention, try it. © RSVP Films 4. Dig Deeper To Find Shared Interests This might take a little bit of effort from your side, but try to find out what interests the woman you are crushing on. Suppose it's travelling that interests them, you can share (not brag) about your personal travel experiences when you guys share each other's company. That'll surely get her to notice you. © Maddock Films 5. A Hello Goes A Long Way A simple hello often takes too much work, but it's one of the easiest ways of taking things up a notch and gauging things for yourself. Try a “hey, how are you” the next time you see them and see how that goes. 6. Get Your Friends Involved Another fool-proof way of treading this path is to get your common friends involved so they can introduce you guys during a social setting, and there's no way things could get awkward after that.
  3. When Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings were playing with all their might to clinch the IPL 2019 trophy; people watching the match live and the ones who were watching it on TV were busy crushing over this mystery MI fangirl. In fact, the camera person should get a separate award for solely focusing on the girl, when the match was in its crucial stage. They are also good at finding out who the mystery girl is, just like they did with other IPL teams' fangirls. So, once again, people tapped into their inner Sherlock and found out who this girl is, who just couldn't stop cheering for Mumbai Indians. 4. Virat Kohli-led Indian Premier League franchise, Royal Challengers Bangalore were literally the least impressive team to play in the league in the past month and a half as they finished at the bottom of the points table with 11 points, 5 wins and 8 losses under their name. The men in Red and Gold ended their IPL 2019 journey with a meaningless 4-wicket win against a depleted SunRisers Hyderabad on 4th May 2019 as Shimron Hetmyer and Gurkeerat Mann rallied RCB to victory in the final over, but that was the end of the road for the Play Bold Team this season. The byproduct of the match, however, was an RCB fan getting all the fame in the world overnight. While the match was in progression, the big screen present at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium displayed Deepika Ghose, a die-hard RCB fan, cheering for her side. Soon after, her video took over the internet and made her go viral, bringing in more than 2,75,000 followers on her Instagram account within the span of a day. View this post on Instagram #RCB girl forever â¤ï¸ð A post shared by deepika (@deeghose) on May 4, 2019 at 12:51pm PDT Her following became so crazy that fake Instagram accounts began to pop up in her name, displaying some of her best images online. However, when the good kind of fans were done idealising her, the bad, vulgar and unruly trolls of the internet got their eyes on the fan who became famous as 'The RCB Girl'. Concerned with all the negativity, the vulgarity and the horrific things she got to read about herself led her to come out and address this issue openly: View this post on Instagram My name is Deepika Ghose & that is probably the only thing that is being said about me which is 100% TRUE. It all started on the Saturday of the RCBxSRH IPL match. I have been attending RCB matches for many years. It has become a family tradition to watch, cheer and support our Bengaluru team. When we went for the match on May 4th, I did not expect it to be different. I did not want any recognition or realise the number of times that I was on camera. I am no celebrity, just an ordinary girl who was enjoying the match. I did nothing to warrant the kind of attention that ensued after the TV images appeared & I certainly did not seek it. I have much to be proud of - I am a kind, artistic & hardworking woman. I am well educated, well-travelled and well loved by my friends and family. I have many talents and have excelled at my work as a stylist and as a dancer/teacher/entrepreneur. I do NOT consider being seen on TV at an IPL match an achievement. Many people ask me how my life has changed. It has NOT! The only thing that has changed is the number of my Instagram followers. I am as much in shock as all of you. While I am grateful for the love, I am disturbed by the unnecessary negativity. It has been an extreme case of abuse, trauma and mental torture. I am confused as to how people found my name/profile. My identity, privacy & life have been hacked in an instant. A lot of the overnight followers are men who have used this platform to be crude, vulgar, vicious & entirely disrespectful. Even more shocking is the hate I have received from women. How quick & cruel you have been to say mean things to & about me without even knowing me. I AM ONE OF YOU! The world desperately needs more women supporting & uplifting each other. I am appalled by how I have been judged & condemned instead of being given a compassionate hearing. Stop & think about how it is as a girl to have been subjected to this unwanted attention. So many people have asked me why they should follow me - and you are right to question this. Now that this has happened, I am going to turn this into something genuine, meaningful & fabulous. Yes, I am #theRCBgirl but I am SO MUCH MORE THAN THAT. 5. What started off as a successful (sometimes hit-and-miss) strategy for some directors has now become a go-to mantra for Bollywood, whenever they run out of fresh ideas and concepts- remake another movie. And in the huge ocean of official remakes, another movie has now found its way. After delivering a great performance in 'Kesari' and stepping into the shoes of ace Indian shuttler Saina Nehwal for her upcoming biopic, Parineeti Chopra is all set to take up another challenging role of her career, as she will reprise the role of Emily Blunt in the official Bollywood remake of 'The Girl On The Train'. © ‎DreamWorks Pictures 'Te3n' director, Ribhu Dasgupta will be helming this project, the name of which is yet to be announced. The American psychological mystery thriller was directed by Tate Taylor and was an adaptation of Paula Hawkins' bestselling book of the same name. Emily Blunt was brilliant as Rachel, an alcoholic divorcee, who gets dragged into a missing person's investigation. In fact, she won several awards and nominations for the film. So, naturally, expectations are really high from Parineeti. Hopping onto this thrilling ride! The character is an alcoholic and a victim of abuse, and I haven't explored anything like her onscreen before". Reportedly, the film is entirely based in the UK and is expected to release in 2020.
  6. Anand Mahindra is known for taking an interest in a lot of things going on around us. His Twitter feed is full of hundreds of inspiring posts from around the world. And obviously his followers love him for keeping it real and always giving a damn about things. And yet again, Anand Mahindra helped us kick-start our week filled with all the motivation we need to survive the week that lies ahead of us. Anand recently shared a post on his Twitter handle which shows a video that has gone viral on social media. © Reuters The video is that of a class 10 girl who can be seen riding a horse to her exam centre in Thrissur district of Kerala. Onlookers caught her journey on camera and it has been widely circulated on social media as an example of unceasing dedication and sincerity. © Twitter Even Anand Mahindra couldn't hold himself back from praising this young girl's dedication towards her education. The young girl is an inspiration to so many of us, and reminds us to keep charging forward towards our goals, regardless of the hurdles that may come our way.
  7. John Cena and Nikki Bella, after a crazy yet dreamy proposal, became one of the hottest and strongest couples in the world seven years ago. I don't know how else to put it, but they were couple goals through and through, complete with their own imperfections, fights and flaws. However, last year they shocked everyone with their breakup. Even after their breakup, John Cena was still deeply in love with her and even confessed the same on a chat show, where he said he wants the two to work and get married to her. Looks like John Cena has finally gotten over his feelings for Nikki and moved on to someone else. A few days ago, the 41-year-old was spotted arm-in-arm with a mystery woman and since then the internet can't keep calm. People tapped into their inner Sherlock and finally found out who the mystery woman is. Meet Shay Shariatzadeh, John Cena's rumoured girlfriend. We found every information available about her and compiled it for y'all, to save you guys time. © Reuters Shay is from Vancouver, and reportedly works as a product manager in the video surveillance industry, Avigilon. She completed her graduation in 2013 from Electrical and Electronics Engineering at the University of British Columbia. She even said on Avigilon's site that she has always enjoyed maths and physics and it was her brother who inspired her to become an engineer. From a WWE wrestler to an engineer, that is quite a jump for John. © Twitter Her LinkedIn profile reads, "I love technology and people! I excel at building rapport with customers, determining market needs and translating those into engineering requirements so we can build successful products that people love." Shay's biggest inspiration is her mother, "She is the reason I fight to be the best version of myself, to be kind and to never give up—because, despite all the hardship, she always smiled. She is my hero." © Twitter Shay has a green and white belt from Lean Six Sigma before becoming an engineer. Prior to that, she was a sales associate at a high-end fashion store, Guess. John and Shay were spotted enjoying a romantic dinner last week and were all smiles while walking hand in hand. We wonder what Nikki Bella has to say about this news.
  8. Movie makers formulate different strategies to market the films. From Ranveer Singh wearing bizarre outfits to Tiger Shroff showing off his hot bod, to no promotions at all, we've seen a range of things. 'Kalank' has come out with a super-unique marketing strategy which comprises of having the on-screen couples wear the same colour. Initially, it seemed like it was a one-off promo event coordination but turns out this going to stay here for a while. 'Kalank' is a period film, set in pre-independent India. An elite family's internal conflict sets in motion a bigger communal struggle. So obviously, according to the theme of the movie, the characters are always spotted in fancy ethnic clothes. Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt look for Kalank's song premiere, 'First Class': © Viral Bhayani This might be a coincidence or it's a planned move. If you look at the history of targeting events, you realise it's definitely a planned move. Twinning in the same solid shade and yet at the same time keeping everything else different, makes you look together and yet your individual personalities are fleshed out well. © Viral Bhayani Especially for a shaadi, where you want to look like you belong together and yet not wear anything extreme, matching the base colour is a great option. Take a look at the rest of the Kalank cast: Madhuri Dixit and Sanjay Dutt © Viral Bhayani and Sonakshi Sinha and Aditya Roy Kapur © Viral Bhayani This planned discoordination is the sneaky PDA that everyone will admire this year.
  9. Varun Dhawan is currently in London shooting for his upcoming film, 'Street Dancer', and so are Shraddha Kapoor, Nora Fatehi and the other cast and crew members of the film. And we all know by now that when there's Nora Fatehi, dance-offs are bound to happen especially when the entire movie is all about dancing. Nora Fatehi is a brilliant dancer and twerking is child's play for her. But, we're sure no one expected Varun Dhawan to give Nora a run for her own money, with his epic twerk on 'Taki Taki'. © Instagram Varun captioned the post, "I often get challenged to twerk competitions on 'Street Dancer' and I will do anything to win." Apart from 'Street Dancer', Varun will also be seen in 'Kalank'. Shraddha Kapoor is working on 'Saaho' opposite Prabhas and on a biopic on Saina Nehwal. It has been raining Bollywood projects for Nora Fatehi, who belly danced her way into our hearts with 'Dilbar' version 2.0 from 'Satyameva Jayate'.

  11. It's 2019! The year of the pig and to sheer coincidence, it's also the year of Lok Sabha elections in India, as every party, every candidate is burning the midnight oil in order to end up on top. A majority of our politicians have been travelling all over the country in order to boost their chances of winning. Speaking of which, our Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his entourage reached Vrindavan to serve food to underprivileged school children. The reason for this visit was to mark the three billionth meal offered by the Akshaya Patra Foundation. A Bengaluru-based non-profit organisation - Akshaya Patra Foundation, has worked with the government to provide mid-day meals. Amidst the event, Prime Minister Narendra Modi indulged in a conversation with a boy saying, ”Barah baje milna chahiye tha khaana, der se aaya Pradhan Mantri, aapka khaana late ho gaya, haina?” Before the boy could answer, a girl sitting next to him intervened and her innocent reply will crack you up. 12. After serving a brief suspension over his objectionable comments on a popular chat show, Hardik Pandya has returned to the Indian team with better focus and more determination. Thriving in the role of an allrounder, the Baroda cricketer has adequately aided the Indian team during their recent tour of New Zealand. However, during the third and decisive third Twenty20 International (T20I) at the Seddon Park in Hamilton, the Indian cricketer was seen struggling with the ball. The right-arm seamer was clobbered all around the park, conceding 47 runs in his quota of four overs. He was India's second most expensive bowler after his brother Krunal (0-54) on the day. When it came to his batting, Pandya couldn't do much to rescue his team from a four-run loss. With his side in desperate need of some power-hitting, the 25-year-old was promoted up the order but couldn't make it count as he departed after a 11-ball 21. 13. Ever since Finance Minister Piyush Goyal presented the budget in the Lok Sabha, the whole nation has been busy deliberating its pros and cons, and what it might have in store for the Indian citizens. Being NDA government's last budget before the 2019 general elections, it was looked upon as a potential chance to woo the voters. From financial support to farmers to noticeable tax rebates, the Budget 2019 had many offerings which allowed it to dominate social media trends over the weekend. There were hilarious memes, funny jokes and all the chatter you needed about the new budget. But, amid all that, there came an epic photobombing episode that made a young girl an internet sensation overnight. After the new budget was tabled in Lok Sabha, Union Minister Jayant Sinha was busy expressing his views while talking to the reporters outside Parliament. But, as Sinha spoke about how the government has “always presented a good budget and this year is no different”, a young girl standing behind him made full use of the opportunity to photobomb his interview. Walking back and forth behind Sinha, the white sweatshirt-wearing teenager made her presence felt by looking in the camera and then sticking her tongue out. She, then, did the same thing multiple times till the interview ended. While Sinha went about his business, the young girl, with her antics, went viral on the social media platforms. Who's this kid? Photo bombing a minister outside parliament on budget day is no mean feat. #Budget2019 pic.twitter.com/pwIpGXaF9e — Devjyot Ghoshal (@DevjyotGhoshal) February 1, 2019 Lololol... 14. I started as an extremely fat guy with some really messed up eating habits. My cravings for sweet and savoury food were high all the time. I can still remember myself in the college canteen munching on patties, Tandoori Momos and soft drinks on a daily basis. Health Issues All of this started giving me major issues in my stomach. I had to take injections for this reason too. During regular check-ups in my school, I used to feel ashamed after seeing the weight scale going overboard. My weight had reached to 115 Kgs then. This made my friends tease me and call me names. Due to his, I had to visit a family doctor who rightly stated my poor eating habits as the reason for my abnormal weight gain. My Source Of Motivation I was forced to go to the gym, but it was against my own desire. The concept of training and working hard did not attract me. All of this changed when I met a girl who told me the hard truth – “You don't look attractive!” Uneducated Start To My Journey That hurt me deep inside but motivated me to start my journey of transformation as well. I started to run on the treadmill for countless hours and neglected weight training in the initial days. This made me lose 10-12 kgs but also made me look weak. I just ran on treadmill without thinking anything about the diet. Self Awareness The tables were turned when I changed my location to Pune and started watching videos on diet and training. I got aware on basic topics like calories, macros and macronutrients. Measuring my food and counting calories with the combination of heavy lifting made a lot of differences in my body. I used to get goosebumps seeing biceps popping out of my arms. My supplement stack only contained following two things: 1. Whey Protein 2. Multivitamin What Worked For Me? Apparently, the combination of these things worked for me: 1. Caloric deficit (Eating less calories than my bod requires) 2. High protein diet 3. Walks to the gym adding to Energy Burn (I didn't have my vehicle in Pune. This made me walk to the gym) 4. Educated and Science Based Training methods 5. Real Food and not meaningless Supplements What Didn't Work For Me? I followed the Ketogenic Diet in between which obviously got me results. Later on, I realized that this diet could not be followed for long because of limited food options. My Final Message To All When your loved ones see your efforts and hard work, they start recognizing and supporting you. Girls who didn't know my name, drool over me now! My parents have started appreciating my fitness goals. Also, our decisions and choices dictate our progress. I'm that one guy in the group who chooses diet coke over a regular soft drink. These small choices can add up in the long run and make us achieve our goal sooner.
  15. Having *** or making love is fun and games sure, but if you're with that special someone, there are, on an autopilot, many strings attached with the fun that comes with being a lover. Now there maybe many ways you can improve your *** skills or your game play in bed, but apart from the physical manoeuvres, there are some emotional and mental things you need to keep in mind, which will definitely be the best for you and make you the best bet in bed. © Getty Images Even if you're single, having a few things straightened out emotionally can really help you become 'the best *** she's ever had'. But for that to happen you have to pay heed to a lot more than just physical needs. Here are three things you should do to become a better lover. (1) Communicate Effectively So many couples, and men in general, lack the basic skills for effective communication. If you're communicating what you feel and what you feel like doing, effectively, you'll never not fulfil what she desires the most. The hard part isn't over when you find someone to be with. The hard part starts when you want to express and share most things with them. By effectively communicating and laying what you feel on the table, you can grasp the situation a lot easily and understand your partner's needs, everywhere, including the bedroom. © Getty Images (2) Being Emotionally Tuned In Emotional needs fit right into the Yin Yang and they definitely help meet all physical needs. If your emotional quotient is in order, you'll understand the levels of intimacy your partner needs. Understanding women emotionally is a task and if you take out time and patience to tune in emotionally with them, there's no stopping you from becoming the mayor of loverville. If you're emotionally disconnected, *** is just a casual activity you indulge in, like taking a walk in the park and it can't become something hot and intimate. © Getty Images (3) Sensitivity Pays Off You may be thinking that if you're emotionally there, you're sensitive too but sensitivity is different from being emotionally tuned in. A sensitive man knows how to play out his emotions well and when to use them. So, if you're in bed with her and you're sensitive to her needs and listen to what she wants, you're being sensitive. You can't become sensitive when you're not. It takes time and patience to develop a skill or a personality like that but if you try and adhere to her needs and pay attention to things she says, it can get you there in no time. And also, do wonders with your lovemaking skills! © Getty Images You may have a good body, a big *****, perfectly crusted abs, a sexy voice or anything that can make her jaw drop after seeing you naked. But if you don't have these three things listed above, you're just going to be an average lover and trust me, average isn't good!

  17. New Year's Eve is a big celebration, for obvious reasons, and we are always making big party plans to forget the year we've been dealing with, to start off with a brand new year. It's the only healing we're consciously aware of and the only party we judiciously plan, down to every T. © Getty Images Along with planning NYE parties and agreeing to go for a few, there is always a chance of you trying to get the perfect date on board, so it wouldn't be all that bad. For all the single guys, being alone on New Year's isn't a bad thing at all. In fact, it gives you a chance to meet some newbie's you can take along with you to the next year and maybe have something awesome with them. So, to make this easier, here are 5 ways you can ask out someone for a NYE party and bring in 2019 with some extra joy: (1) Have A Legit Plan First off, you need to have a plan that's not floating about still trying to figure itself out. If you've narrowed down on asking a girl out, she needs to know about your plan too! You can't tell her 'hey keep yourself free for NYE' and end the conversation there! Narrow down on a plan and lock it down, so you don't make changes and perhaps let her know about it too. © Getty Images (2) Use Social Media As Much As Possible Social media is your best bet if you're asking someone out on a date for NYE. It's tangible and you can do it as creatively as you want. I mean you can do it through a simple message on Facebook/Whatsapp or Instagram as well, but you can even send funny GIFs and stickers or stories and ask the girl you like out on a date. © Getty Images (3) You Can Call Up Some Of Her Friends Now that she's said yes and you're taking her to a party where you're familiar with people or are inviting her over to your party, it's only fair that you ask her to bring some friends along. In case she feels a little left out, then she will have someone for company. If not, then she's someone who probably doesn't need anyone to depend on and that's a good thing! © Getty Images (4) Make Your Intentions Pretty Clear You asking someone out for a New Year's party could mean many things. Primarily, it means you're asking someone out to begin an entire year with and a lot of people think it's a serious gesture. Well, that's for you to decide really. If you think it's serious enough, try and let her know in some way. Through a message or something more. If it's just a date for yet another party, act out as casually as you can. But make your intention clear. © Getty images (5) Just Have Fun Apart from getting a little suspicious or serious, New Year's Eve parties are just to have a lot of fun and open up, make some rather solid, drunk resolutions and if you have her by your side, get to know her to the best of your ability. In short, have fun and bring in the new year with a lot of fun and class! © Getty Images

There is no better way to tackle this, than to take swift and immediate action. And so, as advised by my doctors, I am currently undergoing a course of treatment in New York. We remain optimistic and I am determined to fight every step of the way. 19. Back in the day, the likes of Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhupathi successfully carried the baton for Indian tennis at global events. The Indian duo forged a formidable partnership to put India on the map of international tennis. Then, came a young Sania Mirza who inspired a whole new generation of players, allowing them and the Indian fans to dream on. While these iconic tennis stars might no longer be as clinical as they once were, their tryst with success - in a sport which was largely considered a superior game for Asians and a country that has been obsessed with cricket - has arguably paved way for young and rising stars to carve their own niche and consistently evolve in tennis. Though, producing a player of, say, Roger Federer's calibre might still prove to be an uphill task for a country like India, but the commendable performances of proven Indian tennis veterans did wake the nation from its slumber, serving a stark reminder to those who felt that this country was only good at playing cricket. © ASICS The intriguing story of Karman Kaur Thandi and her rise in tennis is, to an extent, a byproduct of the legacy established by Indian tennis veterans who continue to serve as role models for these young guns. "Sania (Mirza) is a huge inspiration for us Indian athletes. Leander (Paes) and Mahesh (Bhupathi) have also done so much for the sport in India. My interactions with them have allowed me to learn from their experiences. They also keep giving me tips from their journey and success," Karman said. For a 20-year-old, Karman is no stranger to unique feats. From clinching the WTA Future Stars U-16 title to becoming only the fifth Indian to break into the Top 200 rankings in women's singles, the Delhi-born tennis sensation has already achieved a lot at such a tender age. But, last month, the youngster, partnering Ankita Raina, won her maiden WTA doubles title at the Taipei Open - an achievement that stays close to her heart and allows her to dream for bigger things. "It's very special to have won my first WTA doubles title with an Indian partner, it means a lot because now I know that I belong at a certain level in the sport and it gives me a boost to perform along with top women's players. All in all, it gives me the confidence to go out and compete with them and step up my level of play," she spoke, oozing confidence. © ASICS But, tasting success at a young age has its own drawbacks. Many budding athletes never truly recognise their full potential, while others have been seen succumbing to pressure. But, Kamran, surprisingly for her age, is not only indifferent to pressure, but she has made it her strength. "Of course! I mean, there's always going to be pressure. But, pressure is good because when you go on to the court, it forces you to give it your all. It feels great to be an upcoming player in India and all the hard work that we're doing each day as athletes. My family has supported me throughout my career and they have made many sacrifices to help me be the player that I am. It has made a big difference to my success overall," she revealed. She might be one of the most promising young talents in tennis right now, but Kamran knows her roots and the sacrifices her parents have made. "My parents are from Punjab and have lived most of their lives in Delhi. My father is an electronic engineer and mom is a national-level athlete. We come from a middle-class family, my dad's a self-made man so I'm lucky and proud to say that I have parents who are always there for me," Karman, who idolises her parents as role models, said. © ASICS "My parents and my brother have been a great support and have worked very hard with me. My mom has been constant support both during practice and during tournaments to make me comfortable. I think we all have enjoyed this journey and grown as a family through it. My Father and brother support me extensively, and my family watches me play all my games and tournaments. They are very positive and have kept me positive through all my ups and downs whether I lose or win. Overall, it's a great team effort!" she added. Asked what made her choose tennis, she quickly replied: "I don't think I chose tennis, I believe tennis chose me. My parents introduced me to tennis at the age of 8 and I quickly learned to love the sport. As I kept on playing tournaments, my game improved and I kept getting better and better. When I started competing, I loved winning and the fact that I won made me go out and play tennis with a positive mindset. Enduring every competition and learning from each tournament, it helped me develop both as a player and a person". For someone who really liked arts and craft as a child, it was not surprising to see Karman confess her love for nail art like any other young girl. But, despite being fashionable, the youngster equally values a good support system for a budding talent like herself. "It's really important. I'm lucky to get Mahesh (Bhupathi) as my mentor and ASICS to support me with good gear and good sportswear whether I'm on or off the court. This motivates the player to do more and go forward freely without any mental pressure," she claimed. © ASICS Thanks to ASICS, Karman has a special connection with none other than Novak Djokovic. "It feels special to me that Djokovic and I are ASICS athletes. When you see Djokovic wearing ASICS shoes and then you are wearing the same shoes it feels good that even at that level players use it. Because the ASICS technology is high performance and it feels good to be part of a brand that the top players in the world are using," Karman disclosed. She might be smitten by Djokovic, but Karman seems to have learned the tools of her trade from modern-day legends Maria Sharapova and Serena Williams. "I am an aggressive player on the court. I admire and watch a lot of matches where Maria (Sharapova) is playing, and I think our game style is pretty much the same. I also admire Serena (Williams). She's an absolute legend because of the revolution she's brought into women's tennis. Her achievements as an athlete are commendable," she claimed. Talking about her future, the Indian tennis star aims high but stays realistic. "Right now the goal is to get into the Grand Slams. 2019 Australian Open is around the corner, so that's the first goal and then, maybe getting to the Top 150 in WTA rankings. Amid expectations, I just want to give my best out of there, stay fit and healthy and play more tournaments," she said. © ASICS Having enjoyed a great year, Karman intends to keep pushing forward, improving her game every day and making her country proud in upcoming tournaments. She will be seen plying her trade in ITFS (Pune and Solapur) which will be followed by a pre-season in France before all-important preparations for the Australian Open kick in. "Tennis is the one thing I enjoy and spend most of my time doing. I've always believed that it's important to enjoy what you do, have fun in what you're doing. If you love what you do and have fun doing it, it's not a task or obligation anymore. A balance of hard work and enjoyment is the best combination, Karman, who's rapidly rising as the new poster girl of Indian women's tennis, signed off with a valuable piece of advice for the youth.
  20. Irrespective of the sport, every sportsperson has their own signature style, move and technique that is more than capable of either making, or breaking their respective careers. In the world of football, we've seen the dribbling skills of Lionel Messi and the aerial threat of Cristiano Ronaldo. But, apart from their respective playing styles, the footballing icons also have different ways of taking penalty kicks. From their run-up to preferred corners of the goal post, each footballer takes penalty in their own unique manner - something that is often replicated by the fans in their respective football matches. While there are a lot of videos where fans have been seen taking the spot kick just like their footballing heroes, a latest video that shows a young girl recreating the penalties of Ronaldo, Messi, Paul Pogba and Neymar is undoubtedly the one that stands out. In what has turned into a viral video, a young girl can be seen sporting the club jerseys of the four prominent footballers before successfully copying their penalty kicks. She carefully begins taking the signature Ronaldo run-up and thumping the ball into the net before unveiling the Portuguese iconic goal celebration. How Messi, Ronaldo, Pogba, Neymar hit penalty kicks.. pic.twitter.com/ZUIP0PSoGi — Harsh Goenka (@hvgoenka) November 25, 2018 The next one in line was Messi who would have surely been proud to see the girl curling the ball from her left foot into the inside corner of the post. Pogba's snail speed in the build up to his spot kick was also perfectly replicated by the girl before breaking into a dance move to celebrate the goal. Last, but not the least, Neymar's theatrics from FIFA World Cup in Russia once again came to the fore - thanks to this hilarious video. After successfully converting the penalty in Neymar's style, the girl was seen going down to the floor, imitating the Brazilian's antics from the World Cup earlier this year. The icing on the cake was definitely the last few seconds of the video, where the girl was literally seen rolling on the ground, bringing the old Neymar rolling memes back to our memories. While we reckon that the girl in this video deserves an Oscar for imitating the four footballers in such hilarious manner, she has already set the social media on fire with her footballing and acting skills. 22. Touted as one of the favourites in the tournament, Indian women's cricket team fired warning shots early in the ongoing ICC World T20 on the back of some sublime performances in the West Indies. The Harmanpreet Kaur-led side stunned New Zealand in their tournament opener before decimating arch-rivals Pakistan in the second match. While there have been a lot of positives for the Indian eves, pragmatic skipper Harmanpreet has arguably been the one that stands out amongst the rest. The right-hander became the first Indian woman to hit a T20I hundred when she smashed a 51-ball 103 against the Kiwis in the opening game at the Providence stadium in Guyana. © Reuters Going into the second game against Pakistan, Harmanpreet's leadership skills were also on full display as her side skittled the opposition with an emphatic seven-wicket triumph. Though a low total and Mithali Raj's 56-run knock didn't give Harmanpreet an opportunity to showcase her big-hitting abilities, but still the Indian T20I captain found a way to grab the headlines. Ahead of the Indo-Pak encounter, both the teams stood in unison for the customary national anthems on the field. The cricketers were also accompanied by young mascots who stood right in front of them before the national anthems from the two countries were played. pic.twitter.com/06Q3KxvfMU — Mushfiqur Fan (@NaaginDance) November 11, 2018 During India's national anthem, the mascot accompanying Harmanpreet fell ill. Taking notice of the young girl's health issues, Harmanpreet wasted no time in carrying her in her arms and handed her over to the management before taking the field. Harmanpreet didn't just showed her concern for the youngster, but also had the respect for the national anthem as she waited for it to get over before doing the needful. The Indian skipper's touching gesture was caught on tape and later shared on Twitter. Since then, every cricket fan across the globe has showered praise on Harmanpreet for showing her concern for the young girl. @ImHarmanpreet is and will always be a legend. 23. Just weeks after officially going public with her relationship with model Rohman Shawl on social media, latest reports suggest that Sushmita Sen and beau are ready to take their relationship to the next level just months after they started dating. Wedding bells are on the cards for Bollywood's latest couple, who are allegedly going to be united in holy matrimony sometime next year according to a DNA report. It was earlier reported that the duo met at a fashion show a couple of months ago, and instantly hit it off. The rest, as we all know, is history. © YouTube However, given the latest developments, a source close to the couple was reported by DNA as saying, “they have even discussed the idea of marriage and if things go as planned, they will take their marital vows next year”. Of late, Rohman has been making frequent appearances on Sushmita's Instagram feed, as well as offline, at Shilpa Shetty's Diwali party. The couple seem very much in-love and as per the DNA reports, Rohman has already proposed to his lady love, which was accepted by Sushmita! © Instagram "Rohman has already proposed to Sushmita and she has agreed, which is why she decided to go public with the relationship. They are currently figuring out when would be a good time to tie the knot, but as of now, the couple is looking at a date around winter 2019," the source had said. Rohman, 27, seems to get along really well with Sushmita's young daughters Renee and Alisah too. Speaking to DNA the source further added that, "apparently, both Renee and Alisah are fond of him. The mother of two is happy that her daughters, too, have approved of her choice". 24. For a country that has been blessed with prolific wrestlers over the years, India continues to find talent and nurture them in a bid to flex its muscles in the wrestling domain globally. We've seen numerous Indian wrestlers proving their mettle internationally, bagging coveted medals and making the country proud. After an impressive outing at the Asian Games last month, the Indian wrestlers were expected to carry on their fine form in the ongoing Wrestling World Championships in Budapest, Hungary. In what was arguably a brilliant start for India's campaign, Bajrang Punia produced a hard-fought silver-medal finish in the men's 65kg freestyle category. While the coveted silver made him the first Indian wrestler to win two medals at the World Championships (his last being a bronze in the 2013 edition), it also set the tone for his fellow compatriots to follow in his footsteps. But, India had to wait for a while for its next medal at the tournament. © Twitter/@wrestling The likes of Vijay (55kg), Gaurav Sharma (63kg), Kuldeep Malik (72kg) and Harpreet Singh (82kg) all crashed out after losing their Qualification rounds in the Greco-Roman competition. There was no respite in the women's category as medal favourites Sakshi Malik and Ritu Phogat both missed out on securing a medal for their country. While Rio Olympics bronze medallist Sakshi yet again failed to reach the medal round at a big-ticket event following her loss in the repechage round to Hungary's Marianna Sastin, Ritu missed out on an opportunity to emulate her elder sisters Geeta and Babita after her loss in the bronze medal bout against Ukraine's Oksana Livach. After the early exits of the two women wrestlers, it was eventually a 24-year-old who gave India its second medal at the ongoing World Championships. Pooja Dhanda became the first woman wrestler to win a medal in this year's competition following her bronze-medal finish in the women's 57kg freestyle category in Budapest. Delivering one of the best performances of her career, Pooja opened up a 4-1 lead with a throw on counter and then consolidated the lead with a roll to make it 6-1 after the end of the first period. The Indian wrestler conceded a point for a step out and then gave another for the same later in the bout, but she came back strong with another four-point throw to take a 10-2 lead. Handed two cautions for the step outs, Pooja knew she couldn't back anymore which probably explained her attacking strategy in the later stage of the bout. Her opponent did try to fight back with a takedown and a couple of push outs to reduce the gap, but the Indian wrestler proved too good to eventually secure a remarkable 10-7 win over 2017 European champion Grace Jacob Bullen. It was the 24-year-old's second big medal this year, having secured a silver at the Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast in April.
