With last night’s 54-run defeat against Punjab Kings (PBKS), defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have endured their worst start in IPL history. Before this season, the Chennai-based outfit had never opened its campaign with two consecutive losses. However, the 15th edition has been their worst start to the season. They have suffered three consecutive losses in as many games and it has left them languishing second from bottom in the 10-team IPL 2022 points table.
