ADMIN posted a blog entry in FDF Online NewsEver since, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the schedule for the first phase of the twelfth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), the excitement amongst cricket fans and buzz on the social media is peaking at an all-time high. The opening clash between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) has already garnered a lot of attention as it pits two of the biggest cricketers MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli against each other. If the fans have been busy placing bets on their favourite teams, the franchises, themselves, aren't shying away from taking a dig at each other. As soon as the BCCI announced the schedule for the upcoming season, Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) tried to troll Rajasthan Royals (RR) with a cheeky tweet ahead of their clash on 25th March in Jaipur. Feeling Pink aren't we, @rajasthanroyals? Let's hope an encounter with us in our #IPL2019 opener doesn't leave you red-faced ð¤#LivePunjabiPlayPunjabi #VIVOIPL #IPL2019SCHEDULE pic.twitter.com/iHnyFrUnQ5 — Kings XI Punjab (@lionsdenkxip) February 19, 2019 Taking to Twitter, Punjab wrote: "Feeling Pink aren't we, @rajasthanroyals? Let's hope an encounter with us in our #IPL2019 opener doesn't leave you red-faced". While the tweet garnered mixed reactions from the fans, it also evoked a befitting response from Rajasthan. Hey @lionsdenkxip, we'll save you the blushes, considering you've never won in Jaipur. History is quite comforting, isn't it? ð¤ #HallaBol https://t.co/8ChU37ItDe — Rajasthan Royals (@rajasthanroyals) February 19, 2019 Stressing on Punjab's dismal form in Jaipur, Rajasthan reminded their rivals: "Hey @lionsdenkxip, we'll save you the blushes, considering you've never won in Jaipur. History is quite comforting, isn't it?". Jokes apart, both Rajasthan and Punjab have struggled to live up to the expectations in the past few years. While Punjab are yet to lift the IPL trophy, Rajasthan have not been their usual best when Shane Warne guided them to the title in 2008. Last season, too, was no different for these two sides. While the Rajasthan-based franchise finished fourth with 14 points, Punjab had to contend with a sixth-place finish owing to 12 points in 14 games last season. However, given their smart buys at the auctions last December, the two sides will be eager to put their best foot forward with an improved showing this season.
Chelsea's Antonio Rudiger Involved In A Heated Exchange With A Blues Fan After Man City Drubbing
ADMIN posted a blog entry in FDF Online NewsIn the Premier League title race this season, Manchester City have found a potent challenger in Liverpool who are giving the defending champions a run for their money. Such has been the level of competition between the two Premier League giants that it has made the ongoing season an absolute cracker for the fans. With the tournament nearing a befitting finale, there is no margin for error for City and Liverpool as they chase the top honours. Thus, when the Pep Guardiola side squared off against Chelsea over the weekend, all eyes were on City to keep their title dreams alive. For a team that found themselves chasing Liverpool following their shock loss to Newcastle United earlier, City showed no signs of panic or lacklustre play during their rampaging 6-0 triumph against the Blues at the Etihad. While Sergio Aguero bagged yet another hat-trick of goals, Raheem Sterling scored a brace alongside Illkay Gundogan's strike to cut a sorry figure for Maurizio Sarri's side. © Reuters The Blues conceded four goals in the first 25 minutes and eventually gave away two more by the final whistle to register their worst result since 7-0 drubbing to Nottingham Forest in 1991. It was also their third straight defeat in an away game which further irked the Chelsea faithful. The result undeniably left the visitors red-faced and the travelling fans were clearly not impressed. Owing to their dismal outing, Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger approached the stands where the away fans were seated and apologised for their poor show. But, one fan wasn't ready to accept Rudiger's apology. Rudiger staying to apologise to Chelsea fans. In reply, Rudiger reportedly yelled back at the fan before exchanging heated comments with him. According to Football.London, Rudiger said: "I've come over to say sorry, stand in front of me if you've something to say". The former Roma defender climbed over the top of the barricade to speak to the fan. He then, asked the steward if he could cross the barricade to go and talk to the fan in person, though he was not allowed to do so. Later, the footballer gave his shirt to a young fan before joining back his teammates on the ground as the majority of the fans gave him applause. Following their loss, Chelsea now find themselves languishing at the sixth spot in the table. With the Champions League qualification on the line, their current position in the league has surely got their fans worried. But, the biggest problem at hand appears to be their manager Sarri who is expected to have a crucial conversation with the club's owner Roman Abramovich to discuss his future.
ADMIN posted a blog entry in FDF Online NewsAfter splurging a combined amount of a whopping Rs 106.80 crore at the auctions, the eight franchises of the Indian Premier League (IPL) are raring to begin their title chase as one of the world's biggest T20 extravaganza is slated to begin from 23rd March. While the cricket fans anxiously await the 12th edition of the IPL, the two of the league's biggest stars have given us a glimpse of what they're planning to offer this season. David Warner , captain of Sunrisers Hyderabad, has not been in action (on the international stage) owing to his suspension in the infamous ball-tampering case. On the other hand, Chris Gayle, a vital cog in Kings XI Punjab's batting line-up, too, has not played an international game since July, 2018. But, despite that, the two limited-overs specialists undoubtedly know how to put up a show. Currently plying their trade in the ongoing edition of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), Warner and Gayle are not enthralling cricket fans with their batting skills, but they are adding to the entertainment with their dance moves - a precursor to what we can expect from them in the upcoming season of the IPL . During the clash between Sylhet Sixers and Rangpur Riders, the BPL 2019 clash was lit up by some crazy dance moves. The likes of Gayle and Warner alongside a host of Bangladeshi stars were seen shaking a leg during the match. While Gayle was seen slaying his classic bhangra, Warner, too, was seen pulling off some moves after smacking the Jamaican for a big six. If that wasn't enough, the fact that Warner decided to turn into a right-hander before mercilessly smacking Gayle all-around the park, further left the spectators in awe of his batting prowess. Bangladeshi batsman Liton Das, too, joined the party and showed some moves of his own. In the end, Warner (61) and Das (70) powered their side to a 27-run win. And, while Sylhet Sixers eventually emerged as winners, the likes of Warner, Gayle and Das all won over the fans with their crazy dance moves.
