  1. Fitness enthusiasts have always been crazy to discover a new supplement in the market that will help them with those 'magical' results that they are looking for. The same old supplement launches with a new name and a new tagline, these enthusiasts can then be seen rushing to the supplement stores and try these latest products in the market. However, this is where they are wrong. The real results will not come from supplements; they will come with some real nutrition and some real hardcore training in the gym. Thus, I am not going to propagate yet another new supplement launched in the market, but I am just going to tell you about the 3 supplements that can help you in your journey of fitness: 1. Creatine Monohydrate (c) Getty A well-researched supplement out there in the market for decades; creatine monohydrate works wonders for natural lifters. It wouldn't be wrong to say that it is the best alternative for steroids for natural lifters. Time and again studies have suggested that creatine monohydrate helps with strength as well as hypertrophy in trained athletes. You can either load it with a higher dose or just take a maintenance dose of 3 to 5 grams daily. I would recommend a maintenance dose as it is a little easy on your stomach. Loading creatine with high doses may give cramps and diarrhoea to a few people. The best thing about creatine is that it is one of the cheapest supplements available in the market and available in almost all the big brands. Another factor that makes it important to supplement creatine from an outside source is that it is very difficult to consume the desired level of creatine from natural food sources like chicken and fish. You will have to consume kilos of non-vegetarian food daily to fulfil the desired quantity of creatine from natural foods. Apart from the muscle building benefits, creatine monohydrate has shown well-documented research on brain function and memory. 2. Vitamin D (c) Getty Almost 80 per cent, if not less of the total population of India has a deficiency of vitamin D. In my own experience, I have never seen a blood report of my client whose vitamin D levels were sufficient or even at the margin. Almost all of them have extremely low levels of vitamin D when they come to me initially. Ideally, in India, we should be getting enough sun exposure as the whole country gets enough sunlight throughout the year. However, we deliberately avoid sun exposure worrying too much about the skin tanning issue. Low levels of vitamin D is associated with decreased athletic performance, lethargy, decrease testosterone production and various other issue that have an impact on your health and performance. Thus, it is smart to include a vitamin D supplement in your daily routine. If you think that the multi-vitamin that you are already consuming would do the needful, you are wrong. That multi-vitamin would not even have half the daily recommended dosage of vitamin d in total. Therefore, supplement a vitamin D pill separately from your multi-vitamin pills is a smart move. 3. Fatty Acids (c) Getty Majority of the cooking oils used to prepare food for human consumption is loaded with Omega 6's. The human body does need omega 6 as well but only in a limited quantity. High intake of omega 6's in the diet is the root cause of inflammation and consequently heart disease as well. Sufficient amount of omega 3's in the body will help in decreasing the omega 6 levels as well. Omega 3 helps your body with stronger joint as well as immunity. This will eventually lead to better performance as well. Though fatty fish is a good source of omega 3, it is good to include an omega-3 supplement to meet the desired quantity of daily intake of omega 3.
  2. An Indian student named Sainath Manikandan in Abu Dhabi has developed robots to help protect marine life and minimise human labour on farms. That's so cool, right? Sainath is a student at GEMS United Indian School and he has built not one, but two robots, which is quite impressive. He hopes his innovation would be implemented on a bigger scale in the UAE. @DianaAward #DianasLegacy We are absolutely thrilled to announce that Goumbook's Drop It Youth Ambassador, Sainath Manikandan, has been awarded The @DianaAward for his work as an environmentalist and is driving change in his community by campaigning. Congratulations Sainath!!! pic.twitter.com/P6BPvfozP7 — lalitha manikandan (@lallimanikandan) July 3, 2018 His first robot is called MBot Cleaner. It's essentially a Marine Robot Cleaner that helps preserve the marine environment. The other robot called AgriBot, as the name suggests, is an agriculture robot that will help reduce the labour of farmers who work in countries with high temperatures, like the UAE. According to him, the MBot is a prototype robot that can remove floating waste from surface water. “MBot is a prototype robot that can remove floating wastes from surface water. It is basically shaped like a boat and can be operated remotely with a radio control. It runs with two motors that help the boat move in the water," Manikandan said. © Twitter The robot's wheel and the third motor are fitted with popsicle sticks to help push waste from the water bodies into the storage basket. He also noted the robot can be powered by solar panels instead of batteries. The AgriBot, on the other hand, will help the farmers in hot countries like the UAE by performing elementary functions involved in farming, such as ploughing the field, sowing seeds, and covering the seeds with soil. “The robot is autonomous and provides the facility for the optional switching of the ploughing system when required,” he said. Manikandan said, “Recycling just one tonne of paper can save 17 trees, 7,000 gallons of water, 380 gallons of oil, 3.3 cubic yards of landfill space and 4,000 kilowatts of energy.” Last year alone, Manikandan collected nearly 2,500 kgs of paper and 250 kgs of plastic.
  3. As soon as Navratri sets in, fitness enthusiasts start worrying about how they are going to meet their protein intake. The biggest challenge for every fitness guy during Navratri is to meet his daily protein intake as non-vegetarian food becomes a big NO. Here is a list of food items that you can include in your diet that will help you meet your daily protein intake as far as possible. 1. Tofu © Getty Images Also known as 'soybean paneer', tofu is vegetarian's paradise when it comes to food items that are high in protein. An average brand of tofu available in the market would fetch you around 30 grams of protein in a serving of around 200 grams. I wouldn't say that the amino acid profile is comparable to lean chicken breast but it is still a complete source of vegetarian protein. Taste could be an issue for some people as tofu doesn't have a great taste in itself. Thus, I would recommend adding some form of vegetable or salt and pepper along with tofu to enhance its flavour. 2. Cottage Cheese Cottage Cheese or more commonly known as 'Paneer' has been a part of our Indian diet since decades. Cottage cheese is made from milk and is a vegetarian source of protein that can be used during Navratri. A 100-gram serving of paneer will give you around 20 grams of protein. Another advantage of paneer is that it has a good taste, unlike tofu. You can add cottage cheese to gravies or just sprinkle chopped pieces on cooked lentils to enhance its protein content per serving. 3. Greek Yoghurt Greek yoghurt is another food item that you can consider adding to your daily food intake during this season. Just like regular yoghurt, Greek yoghurt is also a good source of gut-friendly bacteria. Along with the goodness of gut health bacteria, greek yoghurt gives you double the protein intake as compared to regular yoghurt for the same serving size. Also, Greek yoghurt is available in delicious flavours and thus can be used in various forms like pudding and desserts. However, make sure that added sugar isn't too much in the product that you are buying. 4. Nuts & Nut Milk © Getty Images Another food item that you can consider adding to your diet during Navratri is Nuts and Nuts milk. Nuts like Almonds and its milk, commercially sold as Almond milk can serve a great option to be consumed as snacks and mid-meal food items. You can easily replace your evening tea and biscuits with Almonds and almond milk which will also help you to add to the total protein intake for the day. 5. Milk & Whey Protein Cow milk is also one of the best protein sources available in the vegetarian diet. A 100ml serving of milk will give you around 3 grams of protein. Make sure that you are consuming either a double toned or skimmed variety of cow milk so that your intake from milk is not too high. Similarly, supplements like whey protein and casein which are made up from milk can also be added to the diet to meet the daily protein intake to a large extent. 4. Sleep is very important for human function. Not just from the bodybuilding perspective but also from the perspective of good health and performance. © Getty Images Poor sleeping habits can not only sabotage your fitness goals but it will also be harmful to your overall health in the long run. Now, there are various sleep boosting supplements available out there in the marking claiming to be effective sleep enhancers but I am going to discuss only the ones that actually work. Disclaimer: None of these supplements is a pure recommendation. They are just suggestions. Consult your doctor before taking any of these. 1. Magnesium Magnesium performs various essential biological functions including neurotransmitter synthesis. However, due to poor eating patterns people these days fail to take the recommended daily dosage of magnesium through diet. This eventually leads to various behavioural changes like stress and anxiety. Research conducted at the University of Geneva established a possible correlation between magnesium levels and sleep quality. In this research, subjects who supplemented with magnesium and whose magnesium levels were higher in the blood were able to have a more restful sleep as compared to people who were deficient. Thus, magnesium supplements can actually help you to enhance your quality of sleep. Start with a small dosage of 200mg to see the tolerance of your body and then increase the dosage according to your needs. 2. Ashwagandha According to research published in U.S national library of Medicine, Ashwagandha leaves contain 'triethylene glycol' which is a compound that has been found very useful in inducing sleep in humans. Another important finding of this study was that supplementing ashwagandha also increases the quality of sleep as subjects who took Ashwagandha supplements were able to go in the 'deep sleep' mode. Another advantage of Ashwagandha as a sleep supplement is that the body does not become addicted to it. You can stop taking Ashwagandha once you don't feel the need to take it anymore. © Getty Images 3. Valerian Valerian is a sleep-boosting herb that is more commonly used in the United States and Europe. However, these days you can find valerian herb supplements in the Indian online market too. According to a study published in the US National Library of Medicine, valerian has proven benefits to enhance the quality of sleep. These benefits come with no side effects like morning hangovers. Valerian is a potent herb thus you want to make sure that you start consuming it only in small amounts. 4. Melatonin Melatonin is a common over the counter drug that is generally prescribed to get rid of jet lag and to manage any kind of sleep disturbances. It is helpful in managing unbalanced circadian rhythms from jet lag. According to a study published in the National Library of Medicine, evidence exists to prove that melatonin may reduce the time it takes for people to fall asleep. However, melatonin is not a supplement that you can play around with. If you are taking concentrated melatonin alone, make sure to start with a low dosage. Compound supplements that contain melatonin as one of the components contain melatonin in small doses only which you may not worry about. Though the above supplements can help you to increase the quality of your sleep, it is always better to let your body do its routine activities without any supplements. Use any of these supplements to manage your sleep and discontinue when you feel that your sleeping cycles have become better. 5. Every day, people are still searching on the internet the best fat burners on the planet and are ready to shell any amount of money on falsely marketed pills as they promise magic. Fat burners, which were earlier used only by professional athletes, have become common even with beginners in the gym. Not only is this trend stupid and pointless but you are not going to achieve any results out of it except an empty pocket. So, before you think of taking any shortcut in your fitness journey let me give you a single tool that will help you more than any fat burner or a magic pill out there. Start Tracking Your Nutrition This may sound trivial, but trust me it makes a huge difference when it comes to results. I am not saying this based on just my own experience but I have noticed this working on my clients as well. While you may think that you are on low carb and high protein diet, but if you are not tracking your calorie and macro intake, there are chances that you might be consuming more than your target calories. Tracking your food intake gives you a precise calculation of how your body is responding to varying levels of carb and overall calorie intake. This, in turn, will help you in making a smart decision as to how much can you play around with your calories and macros. Fun Fact 1: It Is Backed By Science This phenomenon of tracking calories has been subjected to studies as well and studies do show a positive impact on the results as well. A study conducted by the Kaiser Permanente Care Management Institute established that people who regularly tracked their macro intake were able to lose twice more weight than people who did not. Fun Fact 2: It Helps In Portion Control When you update your food diary daily, you can measure the number of calories you have consumed in every single meal of the day. While some meals might be absolutely healthy but there are chances that you may be consuming a larger portion of it. Even if the meal is healthy, you can't just binge on it and expect that it will not have an impact on the overall calculations. Once you start tracking your meals, it will help you to identify if the portion size of the meal that you were consuming is within your target area or not. For example, a meal comprising of Kidney beans and brown rice would be an ideal choice for lunch but that doesn't mean that you can have 'n' number of portions of the same every day. It Will Help You Connect The Dots There are small food items that you consume throughout the day but they often get unnoticed while you make your diet program. These include multiple cups of tea and coffee, biscuits, namkeen, sugary drinks, flavoured energy drinks, artificially flavoured juices etc. While you may think that they may not make any difference but once you start tracking them you may notice that that's not the case. Sometimes these small snacking items contribute a significant addition to your total calorie intake which may slow down your health and fitness progress. 6. As a coach, I face a few questions a lot. "What are the golden rules for fat loss?" "How can we accelerate the fat loss process?" Though there aren't any 'rules' as such that you need to follow, you can follow a few simple guidelines which can help you to burn more fat and speed up your fat loss journey. via GIPHY Let's look at three such 'rules' that will help you in your fat loss: 1. Prioritize Resistance Training This is a mistake made by a majority of the people training for fat loss. They believe that cardio will help them more for fat loss and resistance training is only for people who are preparing for some kind of bodybuilding competition. This is not true. Resistance training will help you build muscle mass which in turn will help you to burn more calories even while you are outside the gym. Muscles are metabolically more active and thus your body burns more calories to build and maintain more muscle mass. So while you may burn more calories in a cardio session in the gym, it is resistance training that will help you speed up that sluggish metabolism and accelerate your fat loss journey. 2. Up Your Protein Intake via GIPHY Once you implement rule number one, you will have to compliment it with rule number two. When you do intense resistance training for at least 4-5 days in a week, your body will need an appropriate amount of protein to repair the broken muscle tissue. 1 gram per kg of body weight is a good place to start with and thereby you can increase it as per your individual requirements. Consuming enough protein in your daily diet also helps you to regulate your hunger which is a major issue while doing fat loss. You should always prefer foods in its natural form like chicken, milk, fish, tofu, eggs etc rather than taking it through supplements. This will increase your satiety factor too. 3. Moderate (Or Stop) Your Alcohol Consumption via GIPHY I won't say that a pint of beer will derail your fat loss journey altogether, but yes, frequent alcohol consumption will actually delay the results that you are looking for. Firstly, excessive alcohol consumption has a direct impact in slowing down your metabolism and secondly, there are possible chances that you won't stick to your diet once you start consuming alcohol. I've never seen anybody having just the drinks and not eating along anything else along with it. That anything else generally takes the form of food items that are high in calories. Since alcohol in itself is a high-calorie drink(cocktails and mixers) when it is combined with other high-calorie foods, it becomes a problem. Fat loss means that you need to follow a calorie deficit diet for a certain period of time. It becomes difficult to maintain that deficit when you have such high-calorie meals every now and then. Thus it is better to cut down or rather stay away from alcohol for some time. 7. This is a universal fact - you can count on the Sikh community anywhere and everywhere to help you when needed. We've seen it every single time any tragedy occurs in part of the world. After the horrific terrorist attack in Christchurch where a gunman opened fire in two mosques, taking the lives of 49 people and injuring 40 other, the entire world mourned the loss and prayed for the speedy recovery of the victims. Everyone is condemning the horrific attack and the Sikh community, like always, is out there helping out those in need. Guru Nanak's Free Kitchen, an NGO, asked people to come forward and help the Muslim community and everyone in need. Obviously, no one disappointed. What a great message and it's honestly so great to see every community so willing to help out one another when in need. I say this every time, but it sucks that a tragedy unites everyone, but at least, everyone forgets differences and comes together in dark times. They shared another update about how they got so much responses and volunteers. Guru Nanak's Free Kitchen was started in 2007 when a group of like-minded people came together to give back and help the community in any way needed.
  8. While you may assume 'Game of Thrones' is only about death and war, you're definitely forgetting the most basic nuance that binds the show together- love. Subtle and fierce underlines of transparent and opaque love have been ruling the premise of the series since season 1 and many of us, if not connected or related to it have definitely been drawn towards the enigmatic relationships the characters have shared amongst them. (HBO) For instance GoT has gone crucially transparent in displaying Ygritte's love for Jon with her popular dialogue "I am yours and you are mine. If we die, we die but first let's live", telling us that love still strives within uncertainties and the harshest of situations. In the same breath, the subtle dynamic between Grey Worm and Missandei has an involuntary opposed view, as none of them really come forward with what they feel for the other, even though they do indulge in intimacy. (c)HBO 'Game of Thrones', besides war and triumph, has given us immense lessons in love, which some of us may have overlooked in time. But if you really think about it, these lessons are lifelong and altering enough to pay some amount of heed towards them. Here are 5 crucial yet controversial things about love Game of Thrones taught us. (1) You Can't Help Who You Fall In Love With That's the beastly truth about life and it's all over the GoT narrative too. For instance, Cersei and Jaime's intense love affair is an indignant proposition for others who know of it, because the two are siblings. But Jaime's heart bleeds for Cersie, even though he knows her actions aren't just. In the same lieu, Tyrion's love for the brothel worker Shae, who betrayed him even though he wanted to protect her. (c)HBO We really can't help who we fall in love with because love is the most definite and uncontrollable emotion we have amidst us. We can reap from the consequences or we can regret everything we've felt but controlling it is not in our hands and that is something GoT stresses on time and again, with multiple equations indulging in daring love. (c)HBO (2) Unrequited Love Is Painful Yes, we all know one-sided or unrequited love is very painful. It's worse when it doesn't just go away and becomes a lifelong baggage to deal with. Most of us have been there but maybe because we're so blinded with the theory of love, we seldom forget what it does to us. GoT has officially made us realise the repercussions of unrequited love and they aren't very pleasant. (c)HBO Don't get me wrong, most of it is beautiful. To be in love with just one person and feel so strongly for someone is beautiful at its own cost. Like how Jorah Mormont was in love with his Khaleesi for eternity. But sometimes obsessive and tainted love breeds toxicity, just like how Littlefinger's love did for Catelyn Stark. He may have loved her all his life but because he couldn't have her he ruined families and destroyed lives, as subtly as he could. But unrequited love is a powerful thing and GoT certainly teaches us that. (c)HBO (3) True Love Does Exist If you've turned cynical about love from one bad relationship, then you weren't really in love. Because true love, even if it doesn't work out, remains as the most special endeavour you've been through because it's a journey no one else can experience for you. So, if you're heartbroken and have turned against love, maybe true love is yet to hit you. That's the relationship that Ned Stark shared with his wife Catelyn Stark tells us, to a great extent. They loved each other immensely, respected each other's wishes and desires and honoured each other tremendously. If that isn't true love, we're not sure what is. (c)HBO (4) You Don't Fall In Love Just Once While love is a unique feeling, it doesn't occur just once. If you've been in love with one person and are spending your life with them, then that's a different thing altogether. But if you've been in love before and have drastically come out of it, there are chances of falling back in to it, with someone else and there isn't a hard and fast rule about it. (c)HBO (c)HBO It's true when we think of Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen. Both were in love with different people and both lost them in some form of battle, and yet, they came together and fell in love with each other, years later. So, if you're going through a heartbreak and think you'll never fall in love again, think again! (c)HBO (5) *** Doesn't Govern Love While *** is important in a relationship or in true sanctimonious love, 'Game of Thrones' teaches us that it's not the most important factor ruling how you feel for someone. It shouldn't be positioned that way, to say the least. *** might be enjoyable and something to look forward to but when an unsullied man and a woman of importance fall in love, *** has nothing to do with it. (c)HBO When Missandei decided to give Grey Worm English speaking lessons, she had no idea what was in store for them. Her assumption of the fact that he's an unsullied soldier without a ***** will never let him see her in the way she probably wants to be seen. But even so, Grey Worm stares at her naked body when she's taking a bath and eventually they get intimately attached, even though they can't have ***. This tells us that all relationships start with a purity that can't be defined or be adulterated by assumptions and expectations and even with the lack of ***, it's still mighty beautiful and meaningful. 'Game of Thrones', even though set a million years ago, has definitely thought us a lot about modern day love. A will to stay and make a relationship work, the will to deal with one-sided love and the will to stay strong with the wrong kind of love and every time we delve deeper in to the projection of each relation, we realise it truly reflects what society has become today. So, take a minute and think about these 5 essential things, that will help you when you do decide to understand what love really is.
  9. Every year, the Board of Cricket Control in India (BCCI) revises the salary structure of the Men in Blue and every year the rest of the Indian population shows their jealousy and gets awestruck by the massive cheques that get delivered to Virat Kohli and the rest of the Indian cricket team. This year is no different, as the BCCI just disclosed how much King Kohli and his men will be earning in the next financial year and the numbers are truly enormous. According to the on-going system, the Indian cricket board has divided their pay scale into four major categories and have placed the various members of the roster under them according to their form and performance during the previous year. A+ Category: There exist three positions in the topmost level or the A+ Category and the selected candidates for them are all no-brainers. Skipper Virat Kohli (World ODI and Test Rank 1 in batting) is accompanied by Jasprit Bumrah (World ODI Rank 1 in bowling) and Indian opener Rohit Sharma. The three megastars will earn a cheque of Rs. 7 cr. during the next year. A Category: Belonging to the second highest level, the players in the A Category go on to earn an annual package worth Rs. 5 cr. This category consists of the major lot of the national cricket team and includes Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Cheteshwar Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane, MS Dhoni, Mohammed Shami, Ishant Sharma and Kuldeep Yadav. After a year flooded with bad performances, Shikhar Dhawan was downgraded from the A+ to A Category. On the other hand, after a successful Test series in Australia, wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant was inducted to this pay grade. B Category: KL Rahul, Umesh Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal and Hardik Pandya make this level, each of whom will go on to earn Rs. 3 cr. in the coming financial year. C Category: The bottom level of the pay scale, Kedar Jadhav, Dinesh Karthik, Ambati Rayudu, Manish Pandey, H Vihari, Khaleel Ahmed and Wriddhiman Saha will go on to earn Rs. 1 cr each. While the categoric division of the majority of the players feels to be justified, one case in particular of the second wall of India, Cheteshwar Pujara not being upgraded to the A+ Category after his astonishing innings in Australia in January and during the Ranji season seems to be a bit questionable. We have to mention the fact that these are the annual salaries that these cricketers stand to earn just from BCCI. Players like Virat Kohli also earn a crazy amount of money from the deals they sign with their numerous sponsors, some of which go beyond their annual salaries with the board. Case in point: Virat Kohli's 8-year Rs. 100 Cr. deal with the sportswear giant Puma that pays the athlete an outrageous Rs. 12.5 Cr. every year.
  10. For every man there comes a time in his life when he makes lifestyle choices based on the quality of the products. Be it gadgets, footwear or clothing, choosing quality over quantity is their mantra for life. Now that labels and brands matter while every man buys clothing, it also matters what the brands actually make your clothing out of. © Getty Images Wouldn't you be disappointed if a sweater that promises it's cashmere is actually 90% polyester and 10% cashmere wool? And you're kidding if you say you wouldn't genuinely appreciate a piece of clothing more if you spot 'made in Italy' text on the tag and look down upon something that says 'made in China'. The question remains, how would you tell if the quality of your clothes is genuinely investment worthy? Well, all you need to do is follow these guidelines and you would be able to assess the quality of your garments properly: 1. Where Is It Made? © Getty Images Some countries have the advantage of being known to produce good quality garments. You'd rejoice if you spot a garment that says 'made in Italy' or 'made in France'. These countries act as brands on their own. But, does it matter? The answer is no. Most countries like China, India and Turkey have the technology to create quality garments as any other would. The only difference would be that the work-force in these countries comes much cheaper, resulting in heavier quantities of garments made at cheaper rates. Which is why only fast fashion brands like Zara and H&M consider them and the 'designer' labels stick to others. 2. Quality Lies In The Details © Getty Images Now that shopping for quality seems to be a policy that everyone adapts, the only difference is the details. An average user would opt for neat stitch, properly finished hem and quality that doesn't shrink or fade. We suggest you pay attention to details and finish of the overall garment and make your choice accordingly. 3. 'Branded' Doesn't Always Mean Quality © Getty Images If certain brands have allured you into the vortex of their shiny advertising but the product doesn't live up to it, it's time you learnt a lesson from it. While some brands have a reputation to make genuinely good quality garments, others are just famous for their advertising. Learning the difference between actual quality and endorsed quality is the key to getting a good product. Just because a certain brand is 'trending' and makes you feel updated with the upcoming fashion pieces, it doesn't promise quality. Only commit to brands after testing their product out. 4. Fabric Matters The Most © Getty Images Natural fabrics like cotton and wool tend to be more investment-worthy especially because of their qualities. Being superior to synthetics, these fabrics tend to be associated with being quality driven. The reasons why affordable brands have cheaper rates is because they compromise on fabric quality and use cotton blends that consist part rayon or polyester. Also, man-made fibres are harder to recycle. A quality cloth should ideally feel good, wash and wear well. But also, certain clothing like hoodies or sweatshirts are made from fabrics that remain of the same quality whether you spend Rs. 1500 at a reasonable brand or Rs. 30,000 at a high-end brand. Now that you've been educated well on how to figure out the quality of the clothes you invest in, make correct choices.

  12. PUBG Mobile has collaborated with 'Resident Evil 2' and brought a new mode for players to experience what the game brings to PC and console users. The Zombie: Survive till Dawn mode brings several new improvements including weapons, skins and vehicles. The new weapons include a Minigun, a six-barrel machine gun and the new flame thrower. The gameplay changes from day to dusk and zombies continue getting more aggressive. The new environment also means peer-to-peer communication is minimal because of low-visibility. The update is already available for users on both Android and iOS and if you're looking to ace the new gameplay, here's a list of tips and tricks to help you out. 1. Pick A Proper Landing Spot: © YouTube Just like the usual mode, be careful and choose an appropriate location for landing. You need to analyze your game performance and understand your strong points. If you can swiftly move around and find loot, landing in populated areas shouldn't be an issue. But if you prefer starting the game in solidarity, stay away from crowded areas and learn to be stealthy. A majority of players are eliminated in the first few minutes of the game since they are busy finding preferred weapons and don't actually prioritize survival. 2. Don't Just Go After Weapons: © Unreal Engine Are you a killer or a healer? Don't be stuck to one extreme and start balancing your load. While weapons are obviously the most important aspect of the game, having sufficient meds is also important. The replenishment will help out in the end when you're bogged down due to multiple fights and need a breather. Collect as many med kits, painkillers, and energy drinks you can. Keep an eye on the health level and consume them whenever you find some hiding time. 3. Stay Together: © PUBG Corporation A team wins only when it acts like a team. Stick together, this way you can distribute lookouts in all directions and virtually create a fortress for yourself. Even when looting, be alert and keep at least one player on watch duty. When you play collectively, it not only becomes difficult for the opponents to hit you, but also gain yourself a lifeline of revival. 4. Start Utilizing The Zombie Bombs: © PUBG Corporation Houses with zombie bombs are like treasure mines. They don't affect you but will make the zombies disappear for good. If you are camping in a house with a zombie bomb, use it as your own safe fortress and lure as many zombies as you can. This way, you'll be able to take out multiple targets in just one go. 5. Healing Can Get Faster: © India Today While med kits will help you replenish your health, applying a zombie vaccine will ensure that the healing process is faster. Stock up on the zombie vaccine to heal quicker. This would help you restore health quickly and get back to shooting up some zombies. 6. Go After The Boss: © YouTube Always remember, the king is always more precious than the army he controls. Don't get carried away in constantly killing random zombies, going after the boss will give you more points. In some cases, this can rise up till 8x. You can identify the boss by keeping an eye out for the huge zombies and don't forget to loot them as well. 7. Be Particular: © YouTube Players usually start shooting or killing zombies during the day time, and this will simply exhaust your ammo. Have patience, and engage only when it's absolutely required. This will also help you save ammo, and once night falls, zombies pop-up randomly. In such a situation, would you want to shoot them down or look around for ammo? Aim for headshots to eliminate them as quickly as you can and save the ammo for the onslaught until dawn. 8. Choose Your Style: © YouTube Are you a camper or a mover? First decide, and then stick to the plan. If you're good at hiding near staircases or bushes, follow the same line of action for the complete game. If you're good at moving around, keep moving so that you aren't easily traceable at one location. Going around in a vehicle is always a better mode of locomoting though.
  13. It may come as a surprise to a lot of the Indian cricket fans that ever since the Twenty20 format of the game was introduced in 2005, none of the Indian wicket-keeping-captains were able to score a century in any of the List A leagues or tournaments. That was until the 20-year-old captain of the Jharkhand team decided to make history in a match against Jammu & Kashmir in the Syed Mushtaq Ali tournament. While J&K put up a below-average score of 168 runs, Kishan went on to score an impressive 100 in just 55 balls to successfully chase it down and win the match with ease. During his bombastic innings, the batsman sent the ball for eight boundaries and seven sixes. Well Played Ishan Kishan #SyedMushtaqAliTrophy pic.twitter.com/2flOJOdZxO — CricFit (@CricFit) February 22, 2019 In achieving this wonderful feat, Kishan registered his name amongst the greatest of athletes of the game in former Aussie skipper Adam Gilchrist and Pak keeper Kamran Akmal as he became only the fifth player in the world to score a ton as both the wicket-keeper and the captain of a squad. Kishan's impressive batting performance during the Syed Mushtaq Ali follows a rather unexpected century at the hands of India's second 'Wall' in Saurashtra's Cheteshwar Pujara who is known for his slow but steady way of playing the game, especially in the Test format of the game. Pujara's ton came in a surprisingly few number of balls (61) after his father had advised him move forwards or backwards across the crease to utilise the line better, a day before. Another youngster in Shreyas Iyer played a brilliant innings for Mumbai in a match against Sikkim, during which he broke India's sledging mascot Rishabh Pant's record for the highest individual score by an Indian batsmen in the T20, as he scored an extraordinary 147 in just 55 balls. Iyer scored 118 runs only in boundaries. 14. As last year marked the completion of a decade since the deadly attacks of 26/11, there still exists individuals who survived through this hell and are now living a normal life. One such individual is my client, RSK (name undisclosed), but is brave enough to narrate her story. A story that she now feels is just part of the past and has blown away like wind. Shot And Lying In A Pool Of Blood © RSK A then resident of California, RSK had come over to Mumbai to attend a wedding and decided to meet with her friends at a restaurant at the Oberoi Hotel at Nariman Point. Before even placing an order, RSK and her friends heard something that sounded like “firecrackers” and upon inquiring they were told by the hotel staff that it was the sound of the locals celebrating India's win during a cricket match. The next thing they heard was “duck! duck! This was followed by a shower of bullets and a hand grenade explosion. Two of her friends passed away on the spot, while one of her other friends managed to leave safely. RSK however wasn't able to leave, because she was shot with several bullets and also by shrapnel from the explosion. RSK shouted for help (in Hindi and English) for the next 18 hours lying immobile in her own blood; until a policeman heard her and carried her on a stretcher. It was this time when she realized that one of her arms was hanging loose, almost detached and that she was injured all over her body. Learning To Live Again With A Bullet Still In Her Body After being admitted to a nearby hospital on 27/11, RSK underwent multiple surgeries including bone grafting, a nerve implant and removal of about 7 bullets and shrapnel from her body. She was discharged officially from all medical treatment in February 2009. In fact, she still has a bullet in her body behind her pelvis which was too risky to be removed. After receiving rigorous physiotherapy for the first two years post her surgeries, she finally gained back most of her mobility and movement. 20 Kilos Overweight And The Trap Of Stupid Diets RSK lost a lot of lean body mass staying immobile in the hospital for 3 months and once she returned home, she put on around 20 kilos during the course of a few years. There arrived a time when her doctor suggested her to undergo a knee-surgery due to increased stress on her joints due to high bodyweight. She would lose weight, and gain it back due to an unsustainable approach towards her diet and exercise. She tried a variety of diets: the “liquid” diet suggested by a famous nutritionist, the GM diet and etc. And the result was weight loss and even more weight gain post the dieting phase due to eating out of proportion. © RSK Counting Calories And Weight Training = 22 Kilos Lost It was not until 2017 that she realized the importance of following something more sustainable and consistent. Since then, her nutritionist asked her to focus on her overall caloric intake and macro nutrients; she was also allowed to enjoy some unhealthy options. “I love junk food and I eat some everyday. But I keep the portion-size in mind”, said RSK. She, now, also makes sure to accumulate at least 150 minutes of exercise per week which includes kickboxing, weight training and suspension training. From the time she took this decision, she successfully lost 22 kilos (from 99 kilos to 77 kilos) and has kept it off. Today, she not only feels lighter but also finds it easy to perform activities of daily living due to regular exercise. © RSK As RSK's fitness specialist, I push her just enough without going overboard. Due to limited range of motion in both her arms, I make sure that she trains through the available range. Her workouts include squats, pushups, deadlifts, lunges, burpees, jumping jacks and almost all movements one can think of. The suspension trainer is assistive during movements that require her to deload some weight for pain-free movement. She calls exercising “the necessary evil” but she makes sure to take out the time to engage in it 5 times a week. RSK is one of my special clients because she is one of the very few individuals I know who has seen death so closely. “I'm not scared to die anymore. But I value life more than ever”, said RSK when I asked her about her almost-fatal encounter. Apart from her will power, RSK gives credit to her supportive family and friends for getting her back to normalcy.
  15. Any sane person knows that sending unsolicited 'dick pics' is straight up sexual harassment, there's no doubt about that. Actually, every single person should know this now, especially after the MeToo movement, but I guess some people still haven't gotten the memo. Today, renowned journalist Barkha Dutt shared the screenshot of an unsolicited dick pic she received on Whatsapp. Yes, it was great for her to call out such creeps and it was the right thing to file a complaint and take official action. However, the problem that a lot of people are having with her tweet is that she seems to have politicised the rather sensitive subject of sexual harassment. Also, everyone's asking the same question right now- how do you tell someone's a nationalist by just looking at their dick? This is terrible @BDUTT. This man shd be caught and punished. Not sure how you could identify political ideology based on genitalia though? ð¤https://t.co/rfo7lw2pLr — Anuraag Saxena (@anuraag_saxena) February 18, 2019 We're all with her when it comes to calling out these horrible trolls. .@BDUTT is being viciously trolled. 16. Even on days when our brave jawans are not risking their lives to protect us, they are still saving lives with their selfless and heartwarming gestures. This incident about a CRPF jawan is from one of those days. Constable Rajkamal, from the 133 Battalion of CRPF (Central Reserve Police Force), is the nation's hero just like every other soldier who puts his life on the line to ensure our safety. But, now he's become the internet's hero as well, after a photo of him donating blood for an injured naxal was posted online. Reuters Reportedly, the Naxal was injured in Jharkhand recently, during an exchange of fire with troops of 209 Commando Battalion for Resolute Action (CoBRA). Post the shootout, the man was immediately rushed to Ranchi's Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences hospital, where the doctors said that the patient needed blood. So, Constable Rajkamal readily agreed to donate his blood. Why? Because he "considered his duty to help a fellow Indian in need." Rajkamal told The Pioneer, "I did what I had to on humanitarian grounds. We have had many clashes in the past, but that doesn't mean that I will have a personal grudge against them. They are our fellow Indians after all." EPITOME OF BENEVOLENCE: CT Rajkamal of CRPF donated blood to save the life of a Naxal who suffered grievous injuries during the encounter which took place when the Naxals attacked a team of 209 CoBRA. 17. Love is a four letter word so powerful, it can weave together the myriad threads of the most bedazzling emotion one is capable of feeling in their lifetime. It is more than just four English alphabets scribbled beside the name that makes our heart skip a beat every time it is mentioned. It will catch us by surprise when we are least expecting it, and render us speechless at a moment when we would rather spill our guts out. Plaguing us with an unceasing giddy restlessness and excitement that makes going through our days a torment - made bearable only with the sighting of the person our heart seems to be beating for all of a sudden. Love is called magical simply because when we are in love, we can never be too sure what the next moment could bring to our life - while we stand powerless against its bittersweet onslaught. (c) Pooja & Varun To love is to hold and cherish, protect and care, with a promise to be fair and honest, not only to our beloved but also towards the relationship we build together. Love in all its beauty is to accept, support and encourage the happiness and the well-being of that one individual we would move heaven and earth for. But to love is to also face the demons of your lover and stand by their side as they fight it off. To love is getting through those ugly fights and misunderstandings that come from feeling too much, and too deeply. To love is to see the person you care deeply for at their weakest or lowest, and loving them anyway. No questions asked, and no strings attached, simply because seem like life's greatest blessing. Varun and Pooja's journey towards love is made up of all that - the good, the bad and the ugly - and their love has come out strong, oh so strong against every test of time. (c) Pooja & Varun The couple met each other through a common friend. Pooja recalls her first meeting like it was yesterday, “My friend told me about this guy who would be perfect for me and she wanted to set me up with him. I did not pursue it at the time, but one day when I was catching up with an ex, my friend invited Varun there without even telling me. the minute that he walked in, I could not take my eyes off him. I was intrigued to know him more. We just got to talking and started meeting every day.” However, Varun has a different (and may we add more interesting) story to share. “We met through a common friend, rather it was a set up for which I had to coax that friend for a month to introduce me to her”, shares Varun. Now that's some memorable “coincidental” meeting the two had, and while it's pretty clear that they hit it right off from the go, wait till you hear about their first “official” date. (c) Pooja & Varun “I asked him out on a date. We had been talking for a week by then, and I suggested going out for a movie. However, Varun insisted that we went out for coffee instead. I agreed thinking a movie wouldn't give us enough time to talk, but Varun made the suggestion because he felt that a movie date would only last for 3 hours, whereas a coffee date can go on an entire day. I just couldn't stop smiling after that.” Again, the first date was memorable for Varun for a totally different reason. “We went to Barista in Basant Lok Market, and personally it turned into a disaster at the end since I had forgotten to get my wallet.” Their journey only gets better from here on. They went on to date each other for the next 11 years, and sure enough, faced a number of ups and downs during this time. Their courtship had all the elements of a budding romantic relationship, but it was made a little difficult by Pooja's anxiety issues which she never imagined would turn into a full-blown disaster, coupled with panic attacks. (c) Pooja & Varun Recalling the time when she came to face her demon for the first time, Pooja says, “I had been dating Varun for 3 yrs when he decided to get a job in UAE and moved there. This posed as an unbearable change and the loneliness caused my anxiety to become full-blown panic attacks.” The distance took such toll on Pooja's mental well being that she would cry endlessly and began to fall sick. Through it all, Varun was right by her side despite the miles separating them. “He used to call me for long hours at night to calm my panic attacks. He spent half his salary on calling me long distance to pacify my fears. Once he was back, we went through a time where I could not leave my house. I used to feel ill and anxious if I did. Varun and I had our dates at home those days. He used to sit with me and my family. Watch movies all day”, shares Pooja. (c) Pooja & Varun Even when things got difficult, Varun never bailed on Pooja. He stood right beside her like a pillar of strength and helped her fight her battle all the way. Talking about all those moments that Varun made bearable for her, and ultimately helped her to get better, Pooja adds that “There were also times where I could not travel or stay away from home even for a night. Varun also sacrificed those trips with friends so that I wouldn't feel like I was missing out.” Varun decided to help Pooja deal with her reality better, and that's when “he came up with the plan to make me feel comfortable with night stays outside the house and that is when we started taking 1-day trips together. We went to Agra once and I had a severe panic attack there. He stayed awake all night long hugging me while I kept wailing the night away. No questions asked. No words were spoken.” (c) Pooja & Varun This was the moment that changed everything for Pooja. She was willing to give her all to anything that would make her better and stronger as a person. She told us, “when my partner was also missing out on things because of my disability it gave me a purpose to overcome anxiety. What got me better was his constant presence letting me know that he has my back always.” That's not all, Pooja's acknowledgement and gratitude is proof that when done right, there are lots of ways how a supportive partner and a loving relationship can help someone who is suffering from severe episodes of anxiety. “Varun gave me that space where there was no pressure to be normal. He took my anxious nature as my normal and that just gave me the time to try cognitive therapy and the will to better myself. Now we travel 3 or 4 times a year which was once a dream for me. I am still dealing with it one step at a time but we have made great progress.” (c) Pooja & Varun After 11 years of dating each other, the couple finally got married in 2017, which happens to be their most dear milestone. Pooja shares how the grew as a couple through the years, “we have been through every test of time. From being in a long distance to being in the same city but living far. From seeing each other every day to seeing each other once a week. From accompanying each other for our respective exams to managing to get a degree at the end of it all. From taking risks in life to being scared even to leave the house. From facing panic attacks to going FOR counselling. Every hurdle thrown our way has been faced together with an abundance of patience and we are still moving ahead and dealing with life together.” (c) Pooja & Varun For Varun, Pooja continues to be his biggest cheerleader. Someone he can trust and rely on. He shares that, “When the shit hits the roof, she is the one you need by your side. She is cool as a cucumber under pressure.” Varun also has just one an important to share with all those men who have partners who also suffer from anxiety. “Things become better with patience and perseverance”, quips Varun, and we presume that this along with his love for Pooja must have helped the couple sail through the tough situations and come out as winners in life and as lovers. More power to the happily married couple!
  18. Guys, open your wardrobe at any given time and you'll probably find it overflowing with t-shirts. In fact, if there ever was an item of clothing to which the term 'wardrobe staple' can truly be applied, it would no doubt be the humble t-shirt. With good reason too - over the years, it has evolved from an unseen undergarment, hidden below an overshirt or a jacket to a bona fide statement piece that can elevate just about any outfit. 19. There have been numerous reports of PUBG addiction in the last few months and we've even seen people resorting to physical harm after getting addicted to the game. A recent report by the Quartz states that a PUBG fan spends more than 8 hours in a week on an average on the game. Institutions have sent out circulars asking for a complete ban on the game, and people have even sent requests to the government for initiation of a ban. While we'd laugh at a ban, the situation is actually getting serious. More than 120 cases of PUBG addiction were registered at Services for Healthy Use of Technology (SHUT) clinic in National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences (NIMHANS). © YouTube Games are supposed to be a source of entertainment, and getting hooked onto them at the cost of work or studies should never be a choice. The symptoms of addiction include deprivation of sleep, loss of real life interests, and subjectively lower attendance along with poor academic performance. If you're a victim of the game's addiction, here are a few steps you can take to ensure healthy usage of technology. © Razer Firstly, you need to start accepting responsibility and know that you are addicted to the game. We cannot solve an issue without acknowledging its existence. Secondly, you have to understand the impact it's having on your day to day life. Are your studies getting affected due to the game? If you're working, has your performance and focus at work changed? If the answer is yes, start thinking about your other hobbies and activities. PUBG was launched nearly a year back, what was your entertainment back then? How did you spend time refreshing yourself? Finding healthy alternatives to passing time can help in distancing yourself from the game. © YouTube You also need to stop blaming the game for captivating you. The phone, the game, the developer etc. aren't responsible for getting you hooked. And no, we don't mean to say abandon the game completely. Overconsumption of anything is hazardous, draw a line between entertainment and addiction. Set yourself time limits and follow them. A good way to understand how much time you've wasted is to keep a track and calculate how many hours you've lost in a week. © Pexels Also, don't be embarrassed to ask for help. Share the issue with your close friends and family and ask them to give a hand. PUBG could also be a distraction you've chosen because of other stressful situations in life. Lastly, even technology can help you out thanks to rising awareness of technology addiction. Both, Google and Apple have recognised that mobile phone addiction in the modern world is a serious problem and are trying to bring a viable solution. If you game on smartphones, you can easily follow the below steps to self reuglate your gaming addiction: For Android © YouTube Last year, Google launched the Digital Wellbeing program with Android Pie update and it aims to help you reduce your smartphone usage. All you need to do is download the app from Play Store, and head to the "Settings" menu. Scroll down and tap "Accessibility", you'll come across two splash pages. The hub has a circle at the top, and the number in the middle shows how long the screen has been turned on. With various colours, the circle shows the apps you spend the most time on. Using these analytics, the system knows which apps you use the most and it tracks your usage over a period of time. © Google Now, you can use the "App Timer" to restrict usage within a certain period of time. Let's say you mark PUBG for "30 minutes", after 30 minutes of gameplay, the app will minimize and a popup appears saying you've hit your allotted screen time. Even the app icon will turn grey indicating it's not available, and taping it would open a screen reminding you about App Limits. Lastly, you can set a "Wind Down" mode that basically makes your phone go grey-scale and the Do Not Disturb mode is automatically switch on. Even a blue light filter is switched on to help you actually wind down to sleep. All you need to do is set a time period, for example 10PM to 6AM. The phone knows that's your sleep cycle and winds down the phone to prevent you from using the phone. For iOS © YouTube Even iOS has a similar feature called Screen Time and it's natively supported on iOS 12. Just go to the "Settings" app and scroll down to "Screen Time". Switch on the feature and it'll start collecting usage logs in the background. You can see when you used your phone, on which apps, and how for long for. You can also see how the overall time you spent on your phone compares to the average. To set up "App Limits", just hit "Add Limit", choose a category, and set your timer. When you hit the wall, Screen Time will let you know with a full-screen notification. Assume this to be your warning message since the notification gives you a ignore option and 15-minute extension. © Apple Unlike Android's Digital Wellbeing, you can select a particular app and need to select a category like social media or gaming. It has a "Downtime" feature that will restrict usage of external apps within the set period and only a few stock apps will be accessible. These are just a few tools that'll help you remind yourself, "You're playing too much!"

  21. "He has the best taste in clothes, and he is the only man I know who knows the difference between mauve, pink, purple, berry etc. I am so proud of how confident he is, and that he doesn't give a shit about gender norms" Stuti While society does its best to mould gender norms, there are some people who define their own standards of what gender truly means to them. They come from an open-ended perspective of changing things that are too normative in nature, in order to derive a way of living most suited to them. And why not? Isn't that life's first rule? To live under no rules? (c)Facebook Meet Stuti and Arnav, a couple defying every stereotype in sight, living a happy and fulfilling long-term relationship. What makes their relationship an inspiration to the millennial generation? They're will to never succumb under textbook knowledge of how things are perceived by people but to create a tangible wavelength of what they feel is comfortable for them. (c)Facebook The Beginning Stuti and Arnav met through common friends but they mostly chatted online till they decided to finally meet. Our first date ever was at this fantastic little cafe called Le Bistro Du Parc, where it was all about steak, sangria and conversation. She looked stunning in a red dress. I was already a little tipsy on sangria, which in hindsight, was a good thing, considering I am usually a nervous wreck. We started talking even before she sat down, and it she made me feel extremely comfortable from the very first moment- Arnav (c)Facebook Stuti, a student of gender studies had her firm notions intact where feminism was concerned. She knew the black's from white and was an ideal yet staunch feminist. Well, before she met Arnav. As someone who studied gender and feminism in college, I considered myself really woke about gender fluidity. I cut my own hair, wore pants, and did not shy away from owning the masculine side to my personality. I thought that was all I had to do to maintain my status quo as someone intellectual and liberal. But I was wrong, because I was given an actual chance to prove my beliefs - Stuti The couple got along like a house on fire and by the second date, they'd already deliberated enough about how they felt for each other. But for Stuti, Arnav wasn't just another Delhi boy, who had an alpha male syndrome looming though his ego. He wasn't the heterosexual male, who would come out for a date dressed in black and shy away from the mention of pink. He was very aware of his likes from his dislikes and Stuti instantly realised she was dating the millennial 'metrosexual man'. A term born from heterosexual males, who actually love taking care of themselves, meticulously might I add. (c)iDiva A Metrosexual Man In Love The advent of the new technological era has brought a lot of significant changes into our lives. Our lifestyles have enhanced from simple caveman times to grooming every inch of ourselves just to look aptly presentable. So, when men took to doing that for themselves, a lot of questions were raised in society. Although it's an urban phenomena still, a man paying close attention to his looks and aesthetics, knowing how to dress well, performing beauty rituals on himself, isn't brandishing or tarnishing the 'manly' image. In fact, it's strengthening the unity that gender needs today. (c)Facebook Arnav, a man very comfortable in his skin, loves wearing all shades of pink, performing beauty routines on his skin and still being that 'emotionally available' guy every girl dreams of dating, is an unfortunate misunderstanding amongst the population today. Here's the thing. Many don't realise that calling someone “gay” due to anything but their sexual orientation is very problematic. For instance, if my boyfriend knows the difference between mauve and pink, that means he has great vision and not that he likes men- Stuti Even within the social constructs of such an unpleasant misunderstanding, Stuti and Arnav have the best relationship and they don't shy away from talking about it! Be it mutual skin care routine's or shopping trips, both enjoy each other's company because they bond with each other over mutual interests, that don't suffocate how one gender is suppose to be with the other. (c)Facebook I have never met a more loving and caring human being, and for that, I feel like the luckiest person alive. One of the most important, and least talked about aspects of a relationship is learning from each other, and I can very easily say that she's taught me so much about love -Arnav What She Fell In Love With The Most Stuti took some time to get to know Arnav. That's a given. But when she did, she found peace and love in him. He helped her deal with mental health issues by always staying by her side, in her time of need and never giving her a reason to question her worth again. But besides that, Stuti fell in love with the fact that her man was so comfortable with his sexuality, that he was indeed confident about how he demonstrated his sexuality. Of how he was open to things that a lot of men usually shy away from and that made her faith in the relationship stronger. (c)Facebook He likes his clothes fitted. He wears pink much better than I do. The strong sweet floral scent of Daisy by Marc Jacobs smells better on him than it smells on me. Does this take away from the fact that he identifies as a man, and is very much straight? It doesn't -Stuti But it took a while for Stuti to accept Arnav as who he was at first. The fact that his choices in life didn't eliminate the doubt that he might have 'gay' tendencies was something Stuti was struggling with initially. We're all moulded in a patriarchal structure. No matter how over-exposed we are to stimulus that redefines gender roles for us, we still go back to our conditioning every now and then and that's what Stuti did too. I struggled to accept the fact that my boyfriend is indeed a straight man who identifies as male. I wore the pants, I used Axe deodorant, and I shouted about equality, yet I was hypocritical enough to not accept his individual take on gender several times. -Stuti But in time, she realised that he was a man who loved taking care of himself and took a keen interest in his aesthetics. She didn't understand his love for lip balms, lotions, face masks or every shade of pink but she garnered an interest over her love for the fact that they both shared a similar interest. (c)Facebook Each man's process to survive is different. Some men like living a rugged and robust life, while some are keen on entertaining the way they look and appear and because we have such pronounced gender dynamics and roles, everything has to fall under a 'straight' line. But honestly, a 'metrosexual' man is as macho, as romantic, as arbit or as good in bed as any other man and we know that because we see Stuti' and Arnva's relationship blossom into something indestructible, everyday! This relationship has shown love to me in a totally different light. It's taught me how easy life is when you have someone who is actually there by your side, through every move. It's taught me to truly appreciate things, it's taught me the meaning of empathy and understanding. It's taught me to explore, to experiment, that there's so much that the world has to offer, when you have someone by your side to experience it with - Arnav

  23. A decade ago, on the morning of January 22, 2008, Christopher Nolan's 'The Dark Knight' became the only superhero film to be nominated in a record-breaking 8 categories, a stature that has not been achieved by any superhero genre film till date. via GIPHY The heartbreaking reality associated with this film that still pinches the movie buffs happens to be its exclusion from being nominated in the Best Picture category. Years later, just a day after the announcement of nominations of the 91st Academy Awards, the world is contemplating a rather historic moment that might change the whole significance of the Oscars forever. Ryan Coogler's tour-de-force 'Black Panther', which is a superhero saga, has been nominated for the Oscars in multiple categories including the esteemed Best Picture category. via GIPHY “Wakanda forever”, tweeted 'Black Panther's' lead actress Lupita Nyong'o, as she shared her extreme delight on the micro-blogging platform, regarding the film's nominations. Since then, social media has been buzzing with tweets, comments, and memes. Seven #OscarNoms for #BlackPanther, including best picture!! This is our reaction the first time we saw footage from the film and we're feeling this way all over again today! Thank you @TheAcademy! #WakandaForever #Oscars pic.twitter.com/lXWv3nsN90 — Lupita Nyong'o (@Lupita_Nyongo) January 22, 2019 Where on one hand, the film has been declared a shape-shifting cultural phenomenon prominently at various award ceremonies this year, others are fuming over the Academy's decision of putting the film in the Best Picture category. Who can forget the ultimate dismissal of 'The Dark Knight'? On the 10th death anniversary of Heath Ledger (Joker), fans remember! via GIPHY If we take a look back at Christopher Nolan's 'Batman' sequel, the film got nominated in eight categories and ended up winning two including the posthumous win by Heath Ledger who portrayed Joker in the film. The only possible reason behind the Best Picture nomination snub for 'The Dark Knight' is believed to be the Academy's limit on the number of candidates in this category. 'Black Panther's' nomination is being termed historic, however, one can't help but wonder if it's because of the controversial history of 'The Dark Knight' at the Oscars that the Marvel film got to this juncture? Does 'Black Panther' owe its nomination to the biggest snub of all time – the dismissal of Christopher Nolan's beloved project? via GIPHY 2019 brings more room for nominees in the Best Picture category and the number has been increased from 5 to between 5 and 10 films. That makes us think more and deeply about the loss 'The Dark Knight' faced at the hands of the Academy. Other films that have got nominated this year are 'A Star Is Born', 'Vice', 'Bohemian Rhapsody', 'The Favourite', 'BlacKkKlansman', 'Green Book' and 'Roma'. But what are the chances of 'Black Panther's' win? The Academy has been famously known for dropping the last minute bombs! Remember the highly criticized 'La La Land' fiasco? As critics said, 'Moonlight's'well-deserved win was taken from their hands and the wrong film was announced on purpose, we don't know what the truth is, but two years later, we know that Hollywood is trying to prove a point here. via GIPHY In simple words, 'Black Panther's' nomination may just be a kind gesture by the Academy to avoid the 'Oscars So White' tirade! When the film surpassed James Cameron's 'Titanic' and became the third highest grossing movie ever in the United States, there came the indication that the Academy might consider it. However, this nomination is indeed a sheer surprise for us. via GIPHY Though stigma has taken a back seat and the film deserves an equal opportunity to win, but somehow, it is meant to be snubbed! Otherwise, it would be a naive but well-planned catastrophe directed towards Mr Nolan.

  25. Do you often admire the athletic physique of your college friend? Wonder why your friend is obsessing with his or her diet during college hours? Most of us during our college days think that a good physique is merely for looks, getting girls and appreciation from fellow mates. Apart from these superficial aspects, a fit body can have many other positive effects in your life. Here are the benefits following a dedicated training regime and a balanced diet plan during your college years: Reduced Stress & Anxiety Levels: Lifting weights and having a decent cardiovascular endurance can help reduce stress and anxiety levels. Aerobic exercise has shown to elevate and stabilize mood. Enhanced Cognitive Function: Exercise has been demonstrated to have an impact on our cognitive(brain) functions and improve alertness and focus. This can help you with your exams and academic endeavours. Better Sleep: Daily Exercise will help you fall asleep faster, improve your sleep quality and regulate your natural sleep cycle. Health Management: Whether you are skinny, fat or skinny fat, a daily exercise routine can help you enhance muscle mass in your body and reduce the excess unhealthy fat over time. A Sense Of Achievement: Completing your exercise goals and achieving small chunks of progress gives us a sense of achievement and increases our motivation levels inside as well as outside the gym. Increased Positivity: Seeing your body change for good and putting efforts for something productive makes you feel positive and you become more positive about life. Enhanced Physique: Who doesn't feel good with a good pair of strong arms or shoulders? Who doesn't feel good when clothes fit them better? Who doesn't like a compliment or two? I think this point is self-explanatory and yes please don't skip your Leg Day! Being fit and healthy increases your sense of self-value and your perceived value (value given to you by others) both of which contribute to an enhanced persona and self-confidence. This confidence can be highly rewarding while giving a seminar or networking with new people. Apart from the confidence boost and other potential upsides of participating in daily physical activity, there are some people who fall prey to the downsides by taking fitness to an extreme, skipping social occasions, and being too restrictive. Please don't take this route unless you are a competitive athlete, as college time won't come back and in the long term, such short-term deviation won't matter much. That's it, folks! If you are a college student and are not participating in any form of physical activity on a daily basis, you are making a HUGE MISTAKE. This is one of the most perfect solutions for someone looking to increase their confidence in a holistic manner.
