  1. There are kids, and then there are pure geniuses like 8-year-old Niall Thogulava from Chennai. Remember the time when cartoon shows, playing with friends 5 hours a day and coming home at the end of a school day used to be our biggest points of interest? Well, Niall is an example of how the generations, since ours, have evolved. This child prodigy from Southern India has portrayed exceptional talents when it comes to reading, writing and speaking hundreds of languages from around the world. Niall is an inspiring polyglot who can read and write as many as 106 languages! *WOAH* © NDTV How did he do it in such a short time of being around? Well, blame it on the internet (just like this year's CBSE 12th topper). Niall took the help of the internet, especially YouTube, to learn all the languages he has mastered today. As per an ANI report, Niall also knows the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA), which allows one to transcribe the sound of any spoken language in order to ascertain its pronunciation. Niall told ANI, "I do not know how my interest in languages began. I can read and write over 106 languages and can fluently speak 10 languages. I am currently learning five new languages." © ANI Niall's father, Shankar Narayanan, is a proud man when he says, "Last year, he started developing an interest for new languages and from there he took a great leap. Making use of the internet, he started learning one language after another." Niall is proof that if you set your heart on something, and work hard to see it through, anything is possible and age is no bar for it.
  2. For a doctor, taking rounds in the hospital and checking in on patients and operating on them, is nothing unusual. But, can you imagine the Prime Minister of a country operating on patients in his free time? If the country in question is Bhutan, then this is just another Saturday in the life of Dr Lotay Tshering, who also happens to be the Prime Minister of the country. Before you guys jump to any conclusions about how the PM of a country is even allowed to treat patients? Dr Tshering was one of the most reputed and best doctors in Bhutan, before he entered politics. © Twitter While Dr Tshering, who turned 50 today, carries the entire nation's responsibilities on his shoulders throughout the week, he prefers spending his weekends as a doctor. While tending to patients at Jigme Dorji Wangchuck National Referral Hospital, he told AFP that his medical work was a "de-stresser". He further said, "Some people play golf, some do archery, and I like to operate. I am just spending my weekends here." On Thursdays, he spends his mornings giving medical advice to trainee doctors. Our Honourable Prime Minister turns 50 today. We wish you another fifty and more, filled with fulfillment, fitness and fun. Tashi Delek la. (Pictures from a modest surprise party where all the colleagues, led by Cabinet Secretary, came together to wish Honourable Lyonchhen) pic.twitter.com/oUQsOGubJF — PM Bhutan (@PMBhutan) May 10, 2019 While we might think of it as something surprising and unusual, no one in Bhutan feels that way. In fact, people in the hospital, where the PM works on weekends, don't even bat an eyelid when he walks through the hospital corridors wearing a lab coat and crocs. In fact, Bumthap, a patient who underwent a five-hour bladder repair surgery at the hands of the PM said, "Now that I have been operated on by the prime minister, who is considered one of the best doctors in the country, I feel more relieved." © Twitter Being a doctor himself, looks like PM Tshering has always put the health of citizens before everything else and that's probably why he also made healthcare a part of his political agenda. If there is a bigger crossover than 'Avengers: Infinity War', it is the crossover between a Prime Minister and a Doctor and Tshering. "At the hospital, I scan and treat patients. In the government, I scan the health of policies and try to make them better," he said. © Twitter He further said, "I will continue doing this until I die and I miss not being able to be here every day. Whenever I drive to work on weekdays, I wish I could turn left towards the hospital." Source: NDTV
  3. Vicky Kaushal will be seen next in Shoojit Sircar's project, playing the role of Udham Singh, a revolutionary who assassinated Michael O' Dwyer, the former lieutenant governor of Punjab, in London, on 13 March 1940. This assassination was an act of revenge for the Jallianwala Bagh massacre in Amritsar in 1919. The massacre deeply affected young Udham Singh who shot Michael O'Dwyer two decades later and was later hanged for murder. Vicky Kaushal took to Instagram to share a shot of his character while filming. In the shot, he looks fierce with a visibly serious bruise under his eyes and a cold expression. View this post on Instagram Running my fingers through the bullet holes at Jallianwala Baug, little did I realise that I would one day get a chance to re-live and depict the anger and anguish of the lesser known martyr, revolutionary... SARDAR UDHAM SINGH. #SardarUdhamSingh @shoojitsircar @ronnie.lahiri #SheelKumar @writish1 #ShubenduBhattacharya #RisingSunFilms @sadarudhamfilm A post shared by Vicky Kaushal (@vickykaushal09) on Apr 29, 2019 at 11:05pm PDT In the picture he shared on Instagram, Vicky is dressed in a long trench coat and a sharp hat with slicked back hair and looks completely in character as a young Udham Singh. Vicky has played extremely versatile roles in the past. From an Army officer in 'Uri' and 'Raazi' to a carefree man in 'Manmarziyaan'. The talented actor has been extremely fluid in switching roles effortlessly. Besides completely nailing his look and getting into the skin of every character he plays, Vicky has always been exceptional in pulling off the role he is playing, and we can't wait to see what he does this time around with Sircar's film. Shoojit Sircar recently spoke about the project and told news agency IANS, "Udham's struggle and sacrifice is a very important story for today's audiences to be made aware of, and I have collaborated with my esteemed writers Riteish Shah and Shubendu Bhattacharya, along with my friend and producer Ronnie Lahiri once again for this humble tribute to the maverick freedom fighter and his story." When asked about the casting of Udham Singh, Shoojit added, "Vicky is unquestionably one of the most dynamic actors we have today, and together, we shoulder great responsibility to deliver due justice in bringing alive this inspiring story on screen."
  4. It has been well documented that Indian bowling all-rounder Kedar Jadhav shares one of the biggest bromances in Indian sports with former captain of the Men in Blue and current Chennai Super Kings leader Mahendra Singh Dhoni for some time now. The 34-year-old Jadhav has openly spoken up about how much he idolises Dhoni and the fact that he decorated his room with Mahi's posters in his Pune house. So, it is only obvious that Jadhav would love to be around Dhoni as much as he can and according to his latest Instagram post, take care of his eating habits as well. View this post on Instagram Bromance â¤ï¸ A post shared by Kedar Jadhav (@kedarjadhavofficial) on Apr 14, 2019 at 10:10am PDT In the video, Kedar and Mahi can be seen sharing a quick bite ahead of an IPL match against Dinesh Karthik's Kolkata Knight Riders. Jadhav has always looked up to the Indian wicket-keeper and has commended his ability to stick to the crease, remain calm under testing times and finish games in favour of his country with a bang. “I can't put it out in words. Every time I see Mahi bhai, it instils confidence in me. That sort of aura is like, that you see him and feel that 'I will deliver today'. He has the knack of getting the best out of every player and that's what everybody loves about him,” Jadhav had said after playing a 81-run-innings in an ODI match against the visiting Australians in March. “The kind of cricketer I am today is because of him. He has always encouraged me… He had seen me in Zimbabwe first and in the New Zealand series at home in 2016, he just wanted two overs from me and luckily for me in my second over, I got two wickets.” Belonging to the 'Whistle Podu' franchise, Dhoni and Jadhav are enjoying their well-deserved top spot on the points table of the league with a season-best record of seven wins to one loss in their eight games played. Super Kings are to take on Kane Williamson and SunRisers Hyderabad at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on Wednesday.
  5. Sometimes to bring an end to a bad day, you need to go through your social media feed to feel lighter with all the useless humour thrown your way. The kind of stuff you find online is sometimes rather funny and definitely puts an end to your mundane day. Just recently the Michigan police released a video of a CCTV footage of a thief robbing a store and trust me, it ended fairly terribly for him. For us though, it was quite a laugh! So, the thief goes in to rob a mobile shop and gets trolled heavily, in the process. The CCTV footage released by the Westland Police in Michigan shows a man wearing a tan coloured jacket enter a mobile store. He then goes ahead to pull something out from the shelf where the mobile phones are displayed. © YouTube But alas, as soon as he tries to pull the phones out with all his might, the entire shelf falls on his head, making him seem rather stupid. It's quite a hilarious moment to witness actually and we're glad it was caught on camera. © YouTube However, he picks himself up, with a few mobile phone boxes and gallantly tries to walk out, pretending like nothing ever happened. Watch the full video here: I don't know about you guys but this incident actually made us laugh like crazy. Well, what goes around comes around I guess.
  6. Tiger Shroff happens to be one of the few actors in Bollywood who can challenge Hrithik Roshan's capabilities as a dancer, one who is an absolute joy to watch. Hrithik has given quite a few memorable performances as a dancer over the years, ever since he made his debut in 'Kaho Na Pyaar Hai' and his moves in the songs from that movie made women drool over this “Indian Greek god”. Well, if there was one other film whose songs became a rage with the millennials, it was 'Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham'. One song from the film titled 'Deewana Hai Dekho' was played in every party and somebody would always perform on that song at an event. © Dharma Productions Close to 18 years since then, Tiger Shroff decided to recreate the song from K3G, calling it his “Fav movie...fav song!” and the end result is just as marvellous as it was so many years ago. Tiger Shroff's skills on the dance floor are unrivalled. He always manages to add his own touches which makes his performances all the more powerful, and this time too he has done just that! View this post on Instagram Fav movie...fav song! #k3g @hrithikroshan @karanjohar @piyush_bhagat @swainvikram @shaziasamji A post shared by Tiger Shroff (@tigerjackieshroff) on Mar 28, 2019 at 12:49am PDT The video that Tiger posted on his Instagram account saw 2,143,306 views in just 21 hours, and the comments pouring in totally resonate with how we feel about his rendition of this iconic song. While people are praising his performance and calling it “fire”, “smooth” and “killer”, one particular user went ahead to claim that Tiger looks more like Hrithik than Hrithik himself in that video, and we sort of agree. What do you guys think about it?
  7. Ever since MS Dhoni called time on his Test career, the Indian selectors have been busy trying to fill in the void. They've tried Wriddhiman Saha who did quite an impressive job in the longest format. Then, we saw the ascension of Dinesh Karthik to the Indian team. And now, young Rishabh Pant is being looked upon as Dhoni's worthy successor behind the stumps. Amongst the available options, Dhoni, himself, had backed Pant as his potential successor when he dropped himself from the Indian squad for the Twenty20 International (T20I) series against Australia last November. For a man who considers Dhoni his idol, Pant appeared to have thrived in the limited opportunities he has got in the Indian team so far. His batting prowess surely makes him a valuable addition to the Indian team down the order. But, sadly, the same can't be said about his wicket-keeping skills. At the age of just 21, Pant is still young and continues to learn the art of wicket-keeping. However, with the ICC World Cup around the corner, the margin for error is very low for the youngster. © AP While many have advocated Pant's case in the recent past, the 4th One-Day International (ODI) between India and Australia gave a stark reminder why he is still a work in progress as far as wicket-keeping is concerned. The clash in Mohali saw India losing, what is being deemed as an unlosable game, as Australia chased down the fifth-highest target (359 runs) in ODI cricket. From misreading the conditions to missing key chances, there were a flurry of mistakes Indian cricket team find themselves pondering over as Aussies fought back from being 0-2 to 2-2 in the five-match series. While Kedar Jadhav missed a tough chance at deep midwicket in the 47th over, Shikhar Dhawan put down an absolute dolly at mid-off in the same over. However, amongst the lost opportunities, Pant's blunders were arguably the ones that ended up hurting India's chances the most at the Punjab Cricket Association stadium. In the 39th over, Peter Handscomb had already notched up his maiden ODI hundred and was eager to take the momentum away from India when he decided to step out of the crease, looking for a big shot. Realising Handscomb's intentions, Kuldeep Yadav shortened his length and ensured the batsman missed the ball. But, it was Pant's inability to collect the ball cleanly to effect the stumping that gave a crucial lifeline to Handscomb as Kuldeep and a packed Mohali stadium watched in disbelief. Pant's mistakes...!! pic.twitter.com/qyo9Kpkdox — Vidshots (@Vidshots1) March 10, 2019 But, it was the 44th over that left the Indian team, owing to Pant's blunders, completely red-faced. The first delivery of Yuzvendra Chahal's over saw Pant fluffing another stumping opportunity that could've surely sent dangerous-looking Turner back into the hut. Disheartened by the lost chance, Chahal bowled the third delivery right into the blockhole as Alex Carey just about managed to squeeze it away from the stumps. But, Pant's effort to pull-off Dhoni's 'No Look' throw converted a dot ball into a single. Watch the Mahi magic on loop #INDvNZ https://t.co/btMoJF0xC3 — BCCI (@BCCI) October 26, 2016 The fourth delivery of the same over saw Turner charging down the track only to get beaten wide outside the off-stump. Making amends for his mistake, Pant successfully managed to grab the ball this time around and jumped in appeal for a potential caught behind dismissal. Pant's confidence that the Aussie had edged the ball convinced Virat Kohli to review and even as the replays showed a noticeable spike on 'Ultra-Edge', the third umpire deemed it not out and called for a wide. While Pant should hardly be blamed for the last opportunity as there was actually a spike in replays, the other three blunders undoubtedly proved costly for his team's chances to win the game and seal the series. Though Pant is still young and needs time to establish himself as India's go-to wicket-keeper, the left-hander must learn to work on his strengths rather than copying Dhoni's artistry with the gloves. © AP In the two stumping opportunities he missed, Pant was so eager to whip the bails off that he almost forgot to collect it in the first place. Dhoni's lightening quick glovework is a technique derived through impeccable hand-eye coordination, developed over years of hard work. Similarly, when Pant tried to pull off Dhoni's 'No Look' throw, he looked very casual - something that further evoked a strong reaction from his captain on the field. It's one thing to idolise someone, but, to become like them, is an uphill battle that takes time. Pant might have pulled off Dhoni's unorthodox style of wicket-keeping a million times in the practice sessions. But if you can't do it correctly in crunch situations during a key clash, then, the wise thing would be to stick to the basics, rather than being flamboyant - a lesson Pant must learn to live up to his billing as Dhoni's successor behind the stumps.
  8. Akshay Kumar never ceases to amaze us with all the outrageous things he does. He's the ultimate stuntman of Bollywood and well, his stunts are now even escaping the big screen to real-life. He can set any stage or runway on fire just because it's him, but yesterday, he decided to make things a little more literal. By now, everyone has probably seen a literally lit Akshay Kumar walking down the ramp in a suit that was on fire. Literally, all fired up for my association with @PrimeVideoIN's THE END (working title). Trust me, this is only the beginning ð@JSalke @vikramix @Abundantia_Ent pic.twitter.com/BL2PS4iJPQ — Akshay Kumar (@akshaykumar) March 5, 2019 Akshay Kumar is honestly the only person in the world who would light himself on fire to promote a show, and the only explanation is that he's Akshay Kumar. This fiery stunt obviously got even better - and of course lit - reactions and jokes online and his wife Twinkle Khanna decided to start it off. Crap! This is how I find out that you decided to set yourself on fire ! Come home and I am going to kill you-in case you do survive this! #GodHelpMe https://t.co/K7a7IbdvRN — Twinkle Khanna (@mrsfunnybones) March 5, 2019 The man's not afraid of fire, but he's still afraid of something much more scarier. 9. Why don't most people know how to apologize after making a mistake? It's a genuine question. Most of the time, an apology by a famous person goes something like this - “I'm sorry what I said offended a lot of people, I didn't mean it like that.” Honestly, that's not really an apology. If the person was actually sorry, it would go something like, “I'm sorry for my ignorance, I realize I made a mistake when I said that offensive thing. I will try to learn from this and better myself.” It's that simple, tbh, and a lot of people still don't understand. I apologize for the mini-rant but Trevor Noah has gone and done it again, and he needs to be taught a lesson. If you remember, he made a racist and extremely insensitive joke about the tensions going on between India and Pakistan and the possibility of a war between the two countries. If someone actually found it even slightly funny, they should honestly take some time to reflect on their own racism. This was a widely discussed topic and Trevor was thrashed on Twitter left, right and centre for this unfunny bit from his show 'The Daily Show'. Finally, he must have realized the backlash he was getting and tried to justify his comments, and ended up giving a half-assed apology. Someone tried to bring up how sad it was for him to joke about violence like that, when he's seen violence in his family first-hand and can probably understand how wrong it is. It's sad when someone who's had a violent past mocks war through a Bollywood stereotype. @Trevornoah 's mother was shot in the head by her husband(Trevor's stepfather).Imagine someone making fun of it with a Xhosa stereotype - the tribe his mum belongs topic.twitter.com/pUFrm3Iavv — Zainab Sikander (@zainabsikander) March 2, 2019 Replying to this particular tweet, he said making jokes is how he deals with “pain and discomfort” but “I'm sorry this hurt you and others”. Please refer to the mini-rant in the starting, thanks. Actually if you watch my stand up you'll see that I did make jokes after my mother was shot in the head. As a comedian I use comedy to process pain and discomfort in my world but I am sorry that this hurt you and others, that's not what I was trying to do. https://t.co/OuVnkHyIfG — Trevor Noah (@Trevornoah) March 2, 2019 He followed it up by another half-assed tweet, trying to justify his actions, again. It's amazing to me that my joke about the conflict in India and Pakistan trended more than the story of the actual conflict itself. Sometimes it seems like people are more offended by the jokes comedians make about an issue than the issue itself. — Trevor Noah (@Trevornoah) March 2, 2019 Who's gonna tell him that his racist remarks were a minor story here compared to everything going on between India and Pakistan? Looks like he tried to again downplay the potential war by saying that no one is even talking about the conflict, instead they're offended by his joke more. People again had to call him out, even though he's proved that it doesn't matter to him and he will continue to be a jerk about the entire thing. Mate, your racist joke was criticised by a small section of people on social media. Don't be under the impression that it mattered more than the conflict itself. Most people don't even know you here. People have lost lives. — Siddharth Singh (@siddharth3) March 3, 2019 What a hypocrite. This is a seriously shitty take. Also factually incorrect. In the nations that were involved in potential conflict, the soldiers trended far more than your “joke”. It's surprising to see that racist stereotypes aren't a problem for you when it comes to other cultures. — Sandhya Ramesh (@sandygrains) March 3, 2019 So ironic. This response coming from someone who has made a living out of calling out others for racism and racial stereotypes and has provided the fuel for the whole "perpetual outrage factory" is possibly the most genuinely funny thing in this whole affair. — Arnab Ray (@greatbong) March 3, 2019 Not funny at all. You are still being a dick about a sensitive issue which involves 2 countries which are in a tense situation. You made fun of Indian armed forces without knowing how after a terror attack 44 Indian security force personnels lost their life. No it was not funny & very racist joke. — Abhishek Jain (@iabhishek_j) March 2, 2019 Ooh, that's gotta hurt. You are no better than the fascist nuts you make fun of. Insensitive little prick. — Gabbbar (@GabbbarSingh) March 3, 2019 Very surprising. Yo, the Apu accent and joking about Bollywood when it comes to India became old last century. I'm surprised you didn't throw in a butter chicken joke alongside to make it the holy trinity of the stereotype Indian gag. — Nishtha (@RootKanal) March 2, 2019 Yep. ð pic.twitter.com/Vq7cz64f5s — **** da SuperBowl, #Free21Savage! (@Tenji95) March 2, 2019 Don't do it, man. The joke might or might not have been offensive/funny, but this right here is a damn shitty thing to say. Don't do this Trevor ð¤¦ð½‍âï¸ — Sucharita Tyagi (@Su4ita) March 3, 2019

  11. Juventus' Cristiano Ronaldo is probably the greatest footballer of our era. With the various multi-million dollar deals he has signed with uncountable brands, cash inflow is not a concern for him. Best in the business, the Portuguese star knows how to celebrate his accomplishments, his greatest achievements and most importantly, himself and no, we are definitely not complaining. Here are 5 times he appreciated his self-worth and treated himself: 1. Ronaldo's Veyron, in particular, could hit the 100km/h mark in 2.5 seconds and had a top speed of 400km/h, making it the fastest ride of its time. The pretty piece costed him Rs. 1.3 cr. 2. Going all-out on booze, Ronaldo ordered a bottle of the Richebourg Grand Cru, the most expensive bottle of wine at the time, worth nearly Rs 17 Lakhs, followed by a bottle of the 1982 Pomerol Petrus, priced at Rs 8.4 Lakhs. 3. Nike's (Really) Expensive 24-Carat Gold Shoes View this post on Instagram Thanks @nike for this amazing birthday gift!ðððð½ð #24kgold #AF1 #CR7 A post shared by Cristiano Ronaldo (@cristiano) on Feb 5, 2018 at 2:30pm PST After signing a massive $1 Billion deal with Nike, the sports goods giant made Cristiano Ronaldo realise exactly how valuable he is for the brand. On his 33rd birthday, while the star decided to keep his celebrations to a bare minimum, with a simple blue cake with friends and family around, Nike had other plans for him. Arrived in a wooden box, was a pair of all-white Nike 'Swoosh' which are worth $70 (Rs. 5,000). But on taking a closer look, the true beauty of the shoes was visible. The Nike logo stitched at the sides of the shoes and at the back along with the tip of the shoelaces were all made out of pure 24-carat gold. The interior of the box was also decorated with gold. 4. Made A Wax Statue Of Himself To Keep At Home © Reuters When in 2013, the Museum of Wax, Madrid unveiled a waxwork of the Portuguese superstar, Ronaldo was absolutely stunned by the detailing and perfection with which it was made. As a result, he contacted the original artist Michael Wade and paid him $31,000 (Rs. 22 Lakh) to make a replica which he could keep in his house. Ronaldo has also hired a hairstylist who visits the statue in Madrid every month to fix the statue's hair and match it to that of Ronaldo's freshest look. A bit over the top? So what? 5. Opened A Museum For Himself © Reuters What do you do when you run out of space to place all your trophies? You build yourself a museum, of course. Originally considered to be the brainchild of his elder brother, Hugo Ronaldo, the Museu CR7 is located in the footballer's hometown of Funchal, Portugal and is dedicated to his 140+ trophies. On 21st December 2014, a bronze statue of Cristiano doing his iconic pose was revealed at the venue under which says 'The Best Player In The World - Cristiano Ronaldo'.
  12. Shah Rukh Khan and Akshay Kumar are two of the most coveted superstars in the Indian film industry and while we'd love to see them work together on a project, seems like it is not possible, at least according to the King Khan himself. View this post on Instagram Launda na samajhna, beta baap hain tumhare! #1WeekToZero @anushkasharma @KatrinaKaif @aanandlrai @mohdzeeshanayyub #tigmanshudhulia @RedChilliesEnt @cypplOfficial A post shared by Shah Rukh Khan (@iamsrk) on Dec 14, 2018 at 2:35am PST Recently during an interview, SRK was asked about his future plans and one of the questions was about him working with Khiladi Kumar. Now he'd love to work with him but his reason for not being able to do so is kind of very hilarious. “What do I say to this? I don't wake up as early as him. I go to sleep when Akshay is waking up. His day starts early. By the time I start working, he is packing up and going home. So he can put in more hours of work. I'm a nocturnal person. Not many people are fond of shooting at night like me. It will be fun to act with Akshay. Dono set pe hi nahin milenge. Woh jaa raha hoga aur main aa raha hounga (He'll be leaving the set and I'll be coming in). I would like to work like Akshay and with him, but our timings won't match.” View this post on Instagram ð A post shared by Akshay Kumar (@akshaykumar) on Jan 14, 2019 at 10:57pm PST Besides being a funny reason, it is also a very logical, and a relatable one for all of us struggling to make it to work on time every day. Now if you think about it, the duo was last seen together on the screen when they worked in 'Dil Toh Pagal Hai 'in 1997. We'd love to see the two men come together for a movie, but seems like the genres and the timings they both choose are poles apart. SRK was last seen in Anand L Rai's 'Zero' which didn't perform well at the box office and Akshay was seen with Rajinikanth in '2.0' and is now working on 'Sooryavanshi' with Rohit Shetty.
  13. Following their historic outing in Australia, the Indian cricket team is all set to embark on a new challenge before they head to England for the all-important ICC World Cup. The Virat Kohli brigade will now travel to New Zealand where they'll lock horns with the Kiwis in a five-match One-Day International (ODI) series. And, as the Indian team gears up for their first clash, Indian opener Shikhar Dhawan has given a glimpse of how he is preparing for the upcoming tour. Taking to Instagram, the Delhi cricketer shared a video of himself sweating it out in the gym. The left-hander was seen pulling off dead-lifts and back row during a training session. While 'Gabbar' was making the most of the team's training session, his teammates Kedar Jadhav and Yuzvendra Chahal were seen mocking the opening batsman with their dance moves in the background. His batting prowess was in full display during the three-match T20I series where he was also adjudged the 'Man of the Series'. However, the left-hander, despite getting some starts, couldn't replicate his success in the ODI series. Exercising with such power and intensity, Dhawan seems to have set his sight on tearing the Kiwis bowling line-up apart when Team India takes on New Zealand in the 1st ODI at the McLean Park on 23rd January.

  16. I always had a thing for outdoor activities. Right from my school days, I participated in sports events and cross country runs. Once into graduation, one iron head friend of mine dragged me into a real gym. It was here where my real weight training habit got inculcated. As far as the nutrition was concerned, we just ate whatever we had in sight. You know, this is how the hostel life hits you on the food front. There was no YouTube or guys around whom I could really ask about nutrition. So it was just 'eat-see' almost throughout the grads. The Challenges Out of everything, the worst thing that hit me was lacking motivation. Blame that on lack of a mentor and lack of guidance and knowledge during the starting days, things really looked bad at times. I used to get de-motivated and sometimes, even quit working out. One of these breaks was so long that for over half a year, I didn't even step into the gym. Fake Supplements As there was no proper nutrition and supplement guidance, I got trapped into the vicious circle of fake supplements. Only after spending a considerable amount of money that I realized I was consuming fake supplements. I still remember my first ever tub on whey that I purchased. It was completely fake and tasted like glucose. The Myths Throughout my journey I came through a LOT of myths. So much so, that even I started believing some of them. Some of them were – Salt makes you fat No eating after 7 in the evening Fat makes you fat Such kind of myths was massively promoted to me by so-called 'gurus' Close Encounter With Steroids I remember one of my friends suggested me take 'DIANABOL' and said that it will take you to the next level. Being a rookie, I took them and since it was a steroid I gained lot of weight (water & fat mostly). Soon issues with gyno and acnes came through. I never contacted that person again. Never! The Turning Point My turning point was in June 2017. I came across coach Aminder Singh and his natural bodybuilding ethics. Under one of his coaches, I learnt about natural bodybuilding, proper exercising techniques and proper nutrition. Then, adding to my knowledge was GetSetGo Fitness's Pratik Thakkar.
  17. One of the most awaited movies of early 2019, Vijay Ratnakar Gutte's 'The Accidental Prime Minister' released today and it's already creating a mighty uproar amongst the audience. The movie is based on the political journey of our former Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh from 2004-2014, and since its first trailer launched, the film has gathered a lot of controversy around it, especially from the political front. A lot of people are calling it 'propaganda' before the general elections this year and while we're wondering why these doubts weren't addressed when the book, written by Sanjaya Baru, was released, we're also hoping the movie does fairly well. © Rudra Productions (UK) Amongst everything else, the audience is appreciating Anupam Kher's portrayel as Dr. Manmohan Singh and along with a few celebrities, the audience has tweeted some extremely positive things about it. Here are some Twitter reactions from celebrities and people, who've already seen the movie, just in case you're looking for a quick and on-point review before you go and watch it this weekend. Well, from a renowned journalist's point of view: Saw #AccidentalPrimeMinister and felt very uneasy at the end of it. Just like after reading the book. The movie should be a good watch for how the characters have been caricatured in the movie and of course the story line that can eliminate all possible doubt, ever, if you haven't read the book of course!
  18. For a man whose popularity is second to none, MS Dhoni hasn't really enjoyed a commendable run with the willow lately. The former Indian captain continues to be a vital cog in India's line-up for limited-overs cricket, but his batting slump is something that's pretty hard to overlook. And, that's probably why he was not included in India's squad for the T20I series against West Indies and Australia. There was a lot of hue and cry over his exclusion from the Indian squad. While some slammed the selectors, others opined that it was only a matter of time that he got dropped owing to his poor batting form. So much so that Dhoni's exclusion even instigated great Sachin Tendulkar to question the mindset of the Indian selectors. Though there was no official explanation on his exclusion, but Dhoni's batting woes surely made for a strong case. However, irrespective of what people might think, the real reason - as explained by Virat Kohli - behind Dhoni losing his spot in the Indian side is completely different, one that made us fall in love with our 'Captain Cool' yet again. © BCCL Believe it or not, Dhoni, acknowledging his batting slump, sacrificed his own spot in the Indian squad to make way for young Rishabh Pant. The Jharkhand cricketer wants the Delhi youngster to get more chances in Team India jersey, something that also tells us that he looks at Pant as his potential successor. Following India's 3-1 ODI series win against West Indies, the Indian captain was asked about selectors' decision to drop Dhoni. Responding to the query, Kohli revealed that he was not part of that meeting where the selectors discussed Dhoni's position in the side. He, then, went on to reveal the actual reason as to why Dhoni decided against playing in the T20I series against West Indies and Australia. © BCCL “I think the selectors have already addressed this if I'm not wrong. And he's been spoken to, firstly. So, I don't see any reason why I should be sitting here and explaining that. I think the selectors have come out and explained exactly what happened. I was not part of that conversation so. It is what the selector explained,” Kohli said at the post-match presser. “I think people are putting too much variables into the situation, which is not the case I can assure of that. He's still a very integral part of this team and he just feels that in the T20 format, someone like Rishabh can get more chances, he anyway plays the ODIs for us regularly. From that point of view, he's only trying to help the youngsters; nothing that anything that other people are thinking and I as captain can certainly assure you of that,” Kohli added.
  19. With the month of November finally rolling in, we take a step closer to all the Bollywood buzz that awaits us this season. From weddings to new releases, tinseltown is all set to call in the year end in high spirits! The jolly vibes seem to have already kicked in for frenemies and Bollywood archrivals, Shah Rukh and Aamir Khan, and how. SRK's much anticipated release of the year 'Zero' is all set to hit the screens in the later half of December, and it seems that the makers recently held an exclusive trailer showcase for their industry friends before the official release on 2nd November. © Facebook As per latest updates, it appears that Aamir Khan had also been in attendance for the viewing. Starring two other Bollywood A-listers Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif, under the direction of Anand L. Rai, the trailer seems to have impressed “perfectionist” Khan thoroughly. Aamir took to Twitter to share his experience with the rest of the world, and was all praise for King Khan. He went on to declare that SRK has “outdone” himself in this movie. Here's exactly how he said it: Guys, I just saw the trailer of Zero. Just one word... OUTSTANDING!!! We aren't complaining about that for sure. For the uninitiated, 'Zero' is said to be a tale about celebrating life. SRK plays the role of a vertically challenged man, and the possibilities of what SRK can make out of this character has left his fans highly intrigued. Considering all the times they have roasted each other on Twitter and Instagram, there are always two specific posts that everyone remembers. I'm obviously talking about their special romantic way of wishing each other 'Happy Birthday!'. Ryan, embodying Deadpool, started the trend by posting this blurry picture last year. View this post on Instagram Happy Birthday to my amazing wife. A post shared by Ryan Reynolds (@vancityreynolds) on Aug 25, 2017 at 8:20pm PDT And, a few months later, Blake got her revenge. Posting a picture of yourself on Instagram from when you were a kid seems pretty normal, but the pressure comes down to the caption. We all know Ryan is hilarious – after all, he isn't called the real-life Deadpool for no reason – and he didn't even spare himself on his own birthday. He has more than often stunned us both on and off-the-field! And he isn't about to stop anytime soon. Minimal and stylish, the captain of the Indian cricket team made sure that the sneakers bore more than a few elements inspired by cricket in the design. For instance, the stitched details on the kicks are inspired by the seam on a cricket ball. PUMA Opting for neutral colours that perfectly team up with every outfit, he kept the variants as simple monochromes – black and white! While the translucent outsole of the sneakers has a futuristic look, the leather upper has a retro vibe. That's a classic Virat move, mixing styles to create a unique piece. These trendy kicks are absolutely wardrobe goals for any cricket fanatic – 100% classic, 100% Virat!
  22. As the 'Me Too' movement takes centre stage and the nation by storm, more and more women are coming forward to expose the men, who misused their power and sexually harassed and abused them. From Nana Patekar, certain AIB members, 'Queen' director Vikas Bahl, noted actor Rajat Kapoor to Bollywood's 'Sanskaari Babuji' Alok Nath; almost every day someone or the other is sharing stories of being sexually assaulted and harassed by powerful men. Recently, singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya found his name on the list as well, after he was accused of sexually harassing a former flight attendant, at a pub in Kolkata in 1998. © Twitter The woman shared her story on Facebook where she said that Abhijeet "followed me here, He twists my wrist, pulling me towards him and screaming in my ear, 'b***h what do you think of yourself, wait till I teach you a lesson', almost kissing and nibbling me on my left ear...I pushed him and ran to the DJ console to get him to shut the music down." She even mentioned that Abhijeet was banned from visiting that hotel and a leading daily even covered her story. She has also accused former Sri Lankan player Arjuna Ranatunga of sexually harassing her. When questioned about these allegations, Abhijeet blatantly denied the allegations and said he wasn't even born at that time. In an interview with The Indian Express, he said "Somebody told me over the call. I was not born at that time. I have never gone to pubs in my life. You'll never find me at any page 3 or filmy parties. My name sells. If someone's benefiting from it, good. Sometimes earning their bread and butter with my name, it's fine." In fact, to defend himself, he went on to insult women who are speaking up by calling them "fat, ugly and bad." He said, "Why should I give attention to that person? You are giving it importance not me. Most of the people who are coming out right now are dirty, ugly people. No one deserves (the attention). Just to grab some attention they are coming out." 23. Ever since emerging on the international circuit, Shoaib Akhtar quickly instigated the general consensus that he was going to become one of the best in the business. If his extreme pace left the opposition batsmen ducking for cover, Akhtar's fiery attitude turned him into one of the most entertaining characters in cricket. The right-arm speedster knew he was the fastest bowler and he made sure others knew it too. For a man who sprang into action as a natural successor to the legacy of famed Imran Khan, Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis, Akhtar, contrary to popular perception, eventually ended his career as one of the 'could've beens' in international cricket. Despite his impeccable skills with the ball, Akhtar's career was overshadowed by the long list of misdemeanours, bans and hefty fines. Taking to Twitter, Akhtar wrote: "Don of cricket as they called me, but never enjoyed hurting people. But, I must say when I was out there I just ran in for the love of my country and for the people around the world". © Twitter But, while the former Pakistani seamer was basking in his old glory, Indian cricket fans wasted no time in reminding him of the hammering the great Sachin Tendulkar dished out during the 2003 World Cup game in South Africa. Taking Akhtar to the cleaners, Tendulkar had blasted his way to a 75-ball 98 which paved way for India's six-wicket win over Pakistan. 24. You can always be sure of one thing – if a famous person says or even barely refers to India, desi people will always find out, no matter how big or small the reference is. The same thing happened when Johnny Sins made a video eating biryani. No desi person would ever leave the opportunity to troll him, I mean it's always funny to see White people trying to eat spicy Indian food. The video in question was posted on his vlog channel on YouTube – yes, he makes videos that are actually SFW – and already has more than 1 million views. Actually, it turns out that out of the 7,00,000 subscribers he has on the site, a lot of them consists of Indians. Well, no surprises there. He also was a little shady and mentioned the T-Series and PewDiePie subscriber war that is going on, but he decided to 'embrace his subscribers' unlike Pewds, who has, as we all know, made fun of Indians a bunch of times. No one can ever forget the greatest thing to happen online ever – the iconic war between PewDiePie and Ekta Kapoor. As a way of thanking his subscribers, he tried a bunch of popular Indian food items, everything from pakoras and samosas to biryani. But, doesn't he know biryani is sacred to desi people? You need to eat it the way it's intended, or you don't eat it at all. But the first strike came when he said, “I read one of the traditional ways to eat it (biryani) is with the bread.” Umm…who is educating you about Indian food bro, because this ain't it. You just DON'T eat biryani with naan. Well, you know how no one ever messes with biryani so obviously desi people came together to call him out. Oh well. Johnny Sins ruining Biryani for u. Here's the video:
  25. If you've ever seen Uday Chopra's tweets, I think it's safe to assume your first reaction was – "what is this guy smoking (and where can I get some)?" I don't want to sound so presumptuous and say "oh, this guy is definitely doing drugs" but how else can you explain this? If I have a son I will name him Hashtag. Hashtag Chopra, I like the sound of it or just #Chopra — Uday Chopra (@udaychopra) November 15, 2014 And this I have figured out why people aren't happy. It's cause they're sad. — Uday Chopra (@udaychopra) December 28, 2014 And this 10 is the most amazing color… — Uday Chopra (@udaychopra) December 29, 2014 And lastly, THIS When I was a kid I thought that I had to marry someone with my own surname. I thought that was the law. I never knew that women changed their surnames. I was constantly on the lookout for Chopra girls — Uday Chopra (@udaychopra) May 6, 2018 But, something really different has finally happened on his Twitter account. Yesterday, he posted a tweet where it seemed that he was as sober as he could be, when he wrote it. Take my word on it, that's really a rare find. But ironically, the tweet was actually about marijuana. Who would've thought, right? I feel India should legalize marijuana. Firstly, It's part of our culture. Secondly, I think if legalized and taxed it can be a huge revenue source. Not to mention it will remove the criminal element associated with it. Plus and most importantly it has a lot of medical benefits! — Uday Chopra (@udaychopra) September 13, 2018 He immediately followed it up with a clarification, though. And no I do not use it. I just really think it's a wise move, given our history with the plant. — Uday Chopra (@udaychopra) September 13, 2018 It's kinda hard to believe he doesn't use it, but I'm not here to throw accusations, I'm just here to subtly hint at it. Whatever the case may be, I fully support Uday on everything. After all, he's my favourite meme account/shitpost generator on Twitter. He also replied to a bunch of people and actually gave very informative answers. Well in Holi, Bhaang (which is similar to marijuana) has been used for centuries. Also during Mahashivratri many sadhus smoke it in emulation of Shiva. Guess more religion than culture but the two are kind of inter related. — Uday Chopra (@udaychopra) September 13, 2018 He raised some good points. So your argument is that don't make it legal cause everyone will be stoned. Wonder why that same reasoning didn't stop people from legalizing alcohol #Flawed — Uday Chopra (@udaychopra) September 13, 2018 The benefits are too many to list. A brief google search will educate you I'm sure. Anyway it's better than being schooled by people like me who have no work. — Uday Chopra (@udaychopra) September 13, 2018 Just to give you some perspective...coffee is also a drug! — Uday Chopra (@udaychopra) September 13, 2018 Some people tried to troll him, obviously. pic.twitter.com/4vgsaL088m — Bhrustrated® Activist (@AnupamUncl) September 13, 2018 pic.twitter.com/avHw20RRRz — SAN SEERVI (@sandeep_seervi) September 13, 2018
