  1. Mesut Ozil might not have been as influential as he once was in recent times, but there is no shortage of fanfare for the German footballer. Often labelled as one of the best midfielders in the world, Ozil continues to be a vital cog for Unai Emery's Arsenal as the Gunners chase a top-four finish in the Premier League this season. Even if he didn't get enough starts for Arsenal this season, Ozil continues to enjoy a strong fanbase, especially in India. The 30-year-old shares a special bond with Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh. And he's often seen engrossed in friendly banters with our 'Gully Boy' which has taken his fanbase to a new high in India. Mesut Magic is a global phenomenon! :) India loves you, Mesut Bhai! — Ranveer Singh (@RanveerOfficial) March 5, 2019 But, for someone who is used to being chased by fans for autographs and selfies, Ozil had a fanboy moment recently when he met 'Bollywood Badshah' Shah Rukh Khan. What a lovely evening @Arsenal congratulations. Thx @MesutOzil1088 & #AmineGulse for your warmth love & hospitality. See u guys soon in India. pic.twitter.com/4rtBJXZ5uW — Shah Rukh Khan (@iamsrk) April 1, 2019 The Arsenal star played host to 'King Khan' at the Emirates stadium before their clash against Newcastle in the ongoing Premier League season. Shah Rukh shared his photos alongside Ozil and his fiancee Amine Gulse with his fans that had the social media buzzing. "What a lovely evening @Arsenal congratulations. Thx @MesutOzil1088 & #AmineGulse for your warmth love & hospitality. See u guys soon in India," Shah Rukh wrote Twitter. It was a big honour to have you as my special guest during yesterday's match! ðð¼ðð®ð³â½ Thanks for coming! @iamsrk || Kal ki match mein aapka swaagat karna mere liye ek sammaan ki baat thi. ðð¼ðð®ð³â½ Aane ke liye dhanyavaad. #M1Ö #YaGunnersYa pic.twitter.com/QKI52C2Sb8 — Mesut Özil (@MesutOzil1088) April 2, 2019 With Shah Rukh in attendance, Ozil produced a spectacular performance to help Arsenal beat 'The Magpies', taking them to the third spot in the points table. After the match, he was also adjudged the 'Man of the Match' for his efforts. As Arsenal fans celebrated their rise to the third spot (for the first time since April 2017), Ozil thanked Shah Rukh, in Hindi, for attending their game as a special guest. Here's a look at how Indian fans reacted to Ozil's touching 'Thank You' note for 'King Khan': I see two kings. — LACANATION (@Fedup_Gooner) April 2, 2019 So much greatness in one frame! ð Ek hi dil h kitni baar jeetoge yaarrr ⤠— à¤à¤µà¤¾à¤°à¤¾ Õ°ÖÖÕ² ð´‍âï¸ (@TheCheeky_Krati) April 2, 2019 King of Bollywood meets the King of Assists. ððð½ð¥ — S A D I A ♥ï¸ (@TheGoonerette) April 2, 2019 Goats — â½Vignesh Gunner â½ (@AmGunnerkid) April 2, 2019 INDIAN GOAT AND GERMAN GOAT ♥ï¸♥ï¸ pic.twitter.com/pEfb20Fy6G — WizardOfÖzil (@Obsessive_Ozil) April 2, 2019 My favorite actor alongside my favorite footballer — Sean ââ (@GoldenBoySean) April 2, 2019 2 legend single frame — Mahboob (@iMahboob9) April 2, 2019
  2. Bollywood is no more a door which opens only for Indians and 'desis' residing outside thriving on K3G and Rajshri Productions movies. Bollywood has crossed borders and broken cultural barriers for India in many countries and lately, China's intriguing affair with Hindi movies has only grown with time, and here are 5 movies which have helped in the process : 1. Dangal Aamir Khan enjoys a special place in the hearts of the Chinese audience and is already a household name in the country. China's first introduction with Khan's talent was back in 2001 when 'Lagan' was released there. The appetite wasn't much back then but now, he is clearly a famous name. His portrayal of a determined father giving it his all to train his daughters for wrestling is something that the audience loved. 2. Padman Akshay Kumar is another actor who enjoys great popularity in China. The audience there fell in love with the entrepreneur's dedication to his wife in the movie, which led to a life-altering moment for women in rural sectors. 3. Secret Superstar Aamir is clearly like royalty in China and all his movies end up on the 'must-watch' list eventually. This was one which also touched the hearts of the Chinese audience with a simple story of a girl harbouring big dreams. 4. Bajrangi Bhaijaan Let's just say even China couldn't resist the magic of Salman Khan ( that's not us but the data that claims how his movies are blockbusters). This movie ended up making over 238 million Yuan in China. 5. Hindi Medium You might wonder why a story of an urban couple running around the circles of society to get their son admitted in a desirable school struck a chord with the Chinese audience. The thing is that the dilemma of parents trapped in an urban set up with limited resources had a universal appeal. So the subject was what made the movie work well in China. Following suit is Ayushmann Khurrana's 'Andhadhun' which is now all set to release in China as 'Piano Man'.
  3. Directed by Abhishek Kapoor, 'Kedarnath' was released today, as it witnessed the debut of Saif Ali Khan's daughter Sara Ali Khan and also stars Sushant Singh Rajput in the lead. The movie is based on the tragic Uttarakhand floods of 2013 and has a backdrop of an inter-faith love story. While the reactions to the movie have been mixed in terms of its storyline and the plot, the one thing that everyone agrees upon is the fact that Sara Ali Khan is here to stay and showed her prowess as a natural actor in 'Kedarnath'. WHAT A MOVIE!@_saraalikhan What a mind blowing Debut! In love with your performance!@itsSSR As always! Baffling Acting!#Kedarnath Do watch! Kedarnath review.. A common hindu-muslim love story..Sara ali is impressive and sushant is ordinary...best scene is the climax otherwise nothing special to be watched in the movie ONE WORD REVIEW- UNEXCITING. #kedarnath — Gunit Anchalia (@GunitAnchalia) December 7, 2018 Just watched #KEDARNATH movie. It is an above average movie. More focus was there on love story (80%) and only 20% focus is there on kedarnath tragedy. Still movie is well shot. Loved the performances of @itsSSR and #SaraAliKhan . #KedarnathReview @Abhishekapoor #bollywood — Movies Bondhu (@Indervicky14) December 7, 2018 #Kedarnath #KedarnathReview : #Kedarnath is equivalent to combined boredom of disastrous films like Raabta, Sawariya, Roy, Anjana Anjani & Namaste England! 4. From the cliché saas-bahu dramas to really funny and practical shows, Indian TV series have come a long way! Gone are the days when female vamps with huge bindi were the only way to get TRPs. Now the audience wants something light, funny, and relatable. Thanks to the internet & the web series concept, we now have some really amazing shows which our generation can watch. Let's see how they're doing at IMDB as compared to other world-famous TV shows. Following are the top 5 Hindi TV series of IMDB with at least 10000 votes: 5. Sacred Games With 9.1 IMDB rating, it is standing at No. 5 among Indian TV series. This show really got us hooked, thanks to a gripping storyline and great direction. We got to see a fresh TV series concept which was wade in India. The series had some good thriller & nail-biting moments. The way it ended its first season & with the popularity it got, the show definitely deserves a second season. However, its fate is hanging due to the allegation against one of its writers. 4. TVF Pitchers With an IMDB rating of 9.2, this show came as a revolution in the Indian TV series industry. After 'Permanent Roommates' & 'Pitchers', we were blessed to have many other great series that were youth-centric. This is highly recommended if you just want to sit at home after office & have a couple of beers. 3. Yeh Meri Family With an IMDB rating of 9.7, more than 'GoT', this series is a gem! If you are a 90s kid who grew up in a middle-class family, this would be a trip back to your childhood. This series is about little struggles that we faced while growing up and how as a family we stuck together. Watch it to have a nostalgic time. 2. Flames A typical teenage romance! The burden of studies, tuitions, and that one cute girl in tuition – this series IS our past! With an IMDB rating of 9.8, this one is the second highest rated Indian series. You'll have to watch it to know why. 1. College Romance And the winner here is a typical college romance (as the name suggests). With an IMDB rating of 9.8, this one won many hearts. This is a story of friendship, love, fairy tales and reality. You can watch it to see the emotional adventures of three friends. Which one will you be finishing this weekend?

  6. 2018 is on its last leg, but the list of exciting movies to watch is a never-ending supply. Here are 6 exciting Bollywood movies you can catch in November on the big screen: 1. Thugs Of Hindostan (9th November) This is one of the biggest releases this year and the stellar cast includes Aamir Khan, Big B and Katrina Kaif. The movie is based on a famous novel called 'Confessions Of A Thug' and has a backdrop of the British rule in India. 2. 2.0 (29th November) Another big release for the year starring none other than the OG Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar in a negative lead, which will be super interesting to watch. You need to experience this on the big screen since this sci-fi movie is probably one of the most expensive movies made in India with a whopping budget of over Rs 543 crore! 3. Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota (23rd November) This movie has crated a rage at the MAMI festival and even the Toronto film festival; so needless to say that you must catch it when it finally releases. The movie follows the story of a man who literally feels no pain. 4. Pihu (16th November) This thriller tells the tale of a 2-year-old girl who gets trapped in her own house with no escape. The movie has been picked up by many film festivals outside the country and is freaking people out. 5. Mohalla Assi (16th November) This satirical comedy stars Sunny Deol and deals with the commercialisation of the pilgrimage city of Varanasi. 6. Lupt (2nd November) Another thriller on offer starring Javed Jaffrey and Vijay Raaz. The movie deals with the realms of the unknown and is supposed to spook out the viewers. It's time for you to book tickets and schedule your Fridays accordingly!
  7. We've all seen the biggest Marvel Cinematic Movie ever – 'Avengers: Infinity War', of course – and we all have been personally victimized by the ending, but it's time to get through that painful ending in a new language. The Hindi version of the biggest movie of the year has released today and obviously it's worth a watch. I mean, every Hollywood movie when dubbed in Hindi gets even better, even more hilarious and it's not like Infinity War needed any improvement but everyone needs a little bit of Tony Stark calling Spiderman 'Chhotu'. Here's the entire scene in Hindi: Rocket Racoon gets even sassier in Hindi. If Spider-Man is 'chhotu', then Tony Stark is Gurudev, obviously. This line sounds even better in Hindi, tbh. 'Prithvi ka shutter down hai' is way better than 'Earth is closed today'. 'Daaku aur haseena' is like an almost literal translation but it still sounds better than the original. Here's the Hindi trailer if you haven't seen it yet! When you have funny dialogues, you obviously have some memes about it. 'Infinity War' meets 'Sacred Games'. No one knows! Exactly. Yes, kaun ho? Yep. Anushka makes an appearance, obviously. 'Avengers: Infinity War' is re-releasing in Hindi today, so don't forget to check it out!

  9. It is raining, 'Netlflix and chill' needs to happen and so does the manadatory cupboard cleaning right? well, if you love procrastinating everything and today seems like a Sunday where you just need to stare the fan and make life decisions, then this small playlist will help ease out your tired soul: 1. Zinda Hoon Yaar- The song for that time when anyone wants to make plans with a lazier version of you. Jokes apart, this one hits the chords of the heart like a familiar ache. 2. Tum Ho- Who can go wrong with a Mohit Chauhan number playing in the background while you clean out that cupboard? 3. Chamba Kitni Door- Another Mohit Chauhan number which is a very famous Himachali folk song as well. If you are not in Kasauli, it doesn't matter, this song will ease that wanderlust feeling. 4. Tum Meri Baahon Mein- A movie which was long forgotten but the songs still stay strong. An innocent Hrithik asking why he fell in love in the first place is all of us asking the same question to an unrequited love. 5. Meer-E-Kaarwan- A beautiful hymn like song that can brighten up even the dullest of moods on a lazy Sunday evening. 6. Madno- Two versions, both beautifully sung and both touch your soul in the same way! 7. Ishq Di Baajiyan- The latest Diljit number that is not talking about a 'Patiala peg' but the simplicity of his love for the woman of his dreams. 8. Kinna Sohna- The movie might be a dud but this romantic number takes the age old 'kinna sohna' compliment and spells it out beautifully. If nothing else, just listen to this for your own sake.
  10. From playing a role which requires some major experimenting to picking a movie which no one would have thought of, Aamir Khan is one actor who does it all. While he is presently shooting for 'Thugs of Hindostan', there are also reports that the actor will soon be seen in the remake of an iconic Hollywood film. In fact, the deal apparently has been sealed and Aamir Khan has brought the rights to the Hindi remake of 'Forrest Gump'. Yes, we know the news is pretty exciting and watching Aamir in Tom Hanks' role would be a treat. © Paramount Pictures Well, playing a character that the legendary Tom Hanks has portrayed is certainly no walk in the park, but our Mr Perfectionist never disappoints. Talking to DNA, a source revealed, “Aamir wants to make Forrest Gump in Hindi, which he will star in. He wants to play the lead role that Tom Hanks had essayed in the original. It has been on his wishlist for some time.” The team has already started their work. "Scripting is currently underway. Aamir wants his team to rework the whole narrative, setting it in the Indian context,” the source added. For those who haven't watched this film, you are indeed missing out on a classic movie. The story revolves around various decades in the life of Forrest Gump (Tom Hanks). Hailing from Alabama, Grump is slow-witted but has a heart of gold. The man has witnessed several moments that defined the history of the United States in the 20th century. © Paramount Pictures The movie makes for a brilliant watch, which fills your heart with various emotions at once. With Aamir taking the charge, we are sure that it will be a great remake.
  11. With the increased consumption of digital content, renowned and new filmmakers have brought a variety of short films which shall enthrall you in a very short span of time. Here is a look at some of the Hindi short films available on YouTube that are worth your time. Chutney Director: Jyoti Kapur Das Cast: Tisca Chopra, Adil Hussain, Rasika Duggal, Sumit Gulati This short film is as spicy and flavorsome as it gets with an unrecognizable Tisca Chopra, who is sharing gossips with Rasika Duggal over pakoras and thanda on her terrace. The short film which has garnered over 121 million views on YouTube is witty, dark and delicious. Jyoti Kapur Das presents this short film in a terrific way by opening up different layers to the story slowly and steadily. She intrigues her audience right from the beginning and one simply cannot wait for the mystery to unfold. Watch it for yourself and unlock the mystery. Juice Director: Neeraj Ghaywan Cast: Shefali Shah, Manish Prakash Chaudhuri With a terrific Shefali Shah playing a housewife in 'Juice', Neeraj Ghaywan (who has also directed 'Masaan') presents the ideology of male entitlement in the society. The story is set around a small gathering of husband's male friends who are enjoying snacks and discussing politics over booze and cigarettes while the women are cooking in the kitchen. It presents the idea of ingrained prejudice against women directly in the face of audience by segregating the gender role-play in a typical Indian society. It is interesting to see Shefali Shah emote beautifully through her eyes and the way she owns her character, Manju. The Schoolbag Director: Dheeraj Jindal Cast: Rasika Duggal, Sartaj Kakkar Set against the backdrop of Peshawar attacks of 2014, the film touches upon the act of terrorism and the innocent lives it costs. The film is about a heart-warming tale of a mother-son relationship on the eve of the son's birthday and the sudden turn of events in their life. Rasika Duggal is another powerhouse of talent and her work in short films like 'Chutney', 'The Schoolbag' and Zoya Akhtar directed 'Lust Stories' segment is testimony to it. Ahalya Director: Sujoy Ghosh Cast: Radhika Apte, Soumitra Chatterjee, Tota Roy Chowdhury Sujoy Ghosh directed 'Ahalya' gives us the feel of old mysterious short thrillers, which people used to read in newspapers or magazines. The film begins and ends at the same point leaving it open-ended and leaving some unanswered questions for the viewers. It leaves you intrigued while wanting for more. The Guest Director: Ayappa K. M. Cast: Shefali Shah, Davinder Madan Winner at the Mumbai Short Film Festival, 'The Guest' in its 8-minute run-time takes us through an unexpected journey of a young man, whose car breaks down in the mountains. As the film progresses, an unsettling eeriness creeps in the atmosphere and concludes leaving the film open to our wildest imaginations. Chhuri Director: Mansi Jain Cast: Tisca Chopra, Anurag Kashyap, Surveen Chawla Similar to the setting of extra-marrital affairs in 'Chutney', Tisca Chopra starrer 'Chhuri' is more direct and sharp like a knife. The film is about a cheating husband who finds excuses to meet her mistress while the wife manages the household. The twist in the tale is what happens when the wife already knows it. The most likeable part about this film is the quirky and clever take on the concept of extra-marrital affairs without resorting to melodrama or revenge saga.
  12. 2018 is certainly turning out to be a great year for Bollywood's new star on the block, Kartik Aaryan.
