  1. With the release of 'Thugs of Hindostan' this morning, Aamir Khan's much-anticipated movie of the year has finally opened to the audience. When the film announcement was made two years ago in September 2016, people began to pin high hopes on this one, given that not only was the movie being launched under the YRF banner, but was also said to star two of Bollywood's most renowned names - Amitabh Bachchan and Aamir Khan. © Yash raj films Move to 2018, and the movie has already hit the screens this morning to a mixed bag of reactions. The audience hasn't been able to fully accept Aamir as the “bad guy” and Sr. Bachchan seems to be the only saving grace of the movie, as per latest online reviews. However, while the movie's fate still remains undecided, Aamir's thoughtful gesture towards the entire cast and crew of 'Thugs of Hindostan' is already being hailed as a major hit. Last evening, Aamir posted a letter addressing every member of TOH, and expressed his gratitude for their earnest efforts, that collectively helped them to put the movie out for the audience to enjoy. Look at the transcript here: What a touching letter by @aamir_khan as #ThugsOfHindostan releases today. The best part about Aamir is that he acknowledges each n every one in the team irrespective of their role.Thats the sign of a great leader...No shoshebaazi...pure simplicity! Wah! pic.twitter.com/SBTubVn4Zy — Faridoon Shahryar (@iFaridoon) November 8, 2018 As is already evident, Aamir made sure that no one from the entire production team was left out of this 'letter of gratitude' as we'd like to call it. Aamir took out the time to mention people by their names and expressed his heartfelt gratitude to everyone for their time and efforts over the last two years. Sure, some might say this is another one of Aamir's 'quirky' film promotion ideas after the tie-up with Google maps, and yes it does seem like it to some extent too. However, one can't deny that to name people on a personal post and giving them credit for their work, holds a lot more value and sentimental connection than the credit roll at the end of film showcase (which honestly no one cares to sit through). © Yash raj films It's also great to see how the film promotions have changed over the years, and more celebs have taken to social media to promote films on a personal level. These tactics not only make a greater connection with the audience like in this case, but the publicity only adds to the overall experience of the movie too.
  2. Aamir Khan's annual mega release, 'Thugs of Hindostan' just hit the screens today and Twitterati has already gone into a frenzy penning their thoughts about the movie. The plot of the fantasy-drama is said to revolve around a band of thugs with Amitabh Bachchan as their leader, who decides to challenge the British Raj and claim freedom for India. The movie also stars Katrina Kaif and Fatima Sana Shaikh in supporting roles. With the first show lined up as early as 9 in the morning today, Tweet-scape is brimming with honest reviews from movie-goers. © Yash Raj Films As per the reviews so far, the much-anticipated film seems to be receiving a mixed bag of reactions, with many claiming that Aamir's acting in the movie as the bad guy comes across as forced, while the first half is also being claimed to be a bit too slow for people's liking. However, the virtual critics have some good things to say for Sr. Bachchan and the use of VFX in the movie. On the other hand, the director of the movie is receiving a LOT of backlash online. Here are some honest (and funny) Twitter reviews we picked up for you to read through before booking your own tickets for the movie: This is worst movie of the aamir khan till now. 3. 'Thugs of Hindostan' is just one week away but its promotion has been going on in full swing for quite some time. There was already hype about the movie from the beginning just because of the star cast, which will obviously happen when you put Aamir Khan and Amitabh Bachchan in a movie together, and then all the looks from the movie and the trailer just built up the excitement even more. View this post on Instagram To see myself on a poster with Mr.Bachchan is a dream come true for me. I still cant believe it. #ThugsOfHindostan | @yrf | @tohthefilm | @amitabhbachchan | @katrinakaif | @fatimasanashaikh A post shared by Aamir Khan (@_aamirkhan) on Sep 24, 2018 at 11:22pm PDT However, the biggest problem everyone had with the movie was how much of a 'Pirates of the Caribbean' it looked like. But, even if the looks were not unique, at least the marketing for it is. Going to different shows to promote your movie is too mainstream – does anyone even watch TV anymore? So just turn to something everyone probably uses every day. An animated version of Aamir's character from the movie appears riding a donkey and showing everyone the way. Now, this is what I call an original idea, tbh. So basically, everyone has the option of riding along with Firangi, aka the desi Jack Sparrow, while navigating your way while claiming things like “Chalo bhaiyya, one two three kick maar”. There are some steps for that before, though, but they're quite simple. To activate #FirangiOnGoogleMaps, follow these simple steps on @googlemaps. 4. The devil may work hard, but people on Twitter work harder. It's just been a few hours since the trailer for one of the most anticipated movies of the year 'Thugs of Hindostan' was dropped and guess what? There are already memes on it, obviously! Okay, first of all, the main response I can gather about the trailer is that people aren't that impressed. Everyone is kind of agreeing that it's not as good as the hype that was built up for the movie, and that it is average at best. One person even went as far as to say 'khoda pahad nikli chuhiya'. Ouch. But hey, so what if we didn't get the entertainment we were promised in the trailer, the memes are here to make up for it. Looks like most of the memes came out of the last two lines spoken by Amitabh Bachchan and Aamir Khan in the trailer – 'Dhoka swabhaav hai mera' and 'aur bharosa mera'. There's so much potential here and I'm glad it didn't go to waste. 1. Umpire's decision 2. 5. The 'Thugs Of Hindostan' trailer is out, and we can't get over how badass Amitabh Bachchan's character 'Azaad' looks. Mr B clearly took a cue from his character and turned up at the trailer launch in an outfit that is delightfully 'Hindostani', if we may say so, with a lot of sophistication thrown in. The best part of the outfit? His shoes, undoubtedly. We love the fusion of class and edge that they are all about. Take a look: © Viral Bhayani The black super-shiny, block-heeled pair of loafers has a silver grey bow on top, that spells 'playfully festive', yet 'functionally minimal'. The construction is all about a perfect fit, and the sleekness of the pair is multiplied by the presence of the bow on top. © Viral Bhayani Coming to his outfit, we love how he has chosen to pair his black Pathani kurta-pyjama with a super chill checked Bandhgala in shades of blue and brown. The addition of the silk pocket square in the same shade as the checked pattern, shows how invested he is when it comes to attention to detail. © Viral Bhayani He has kept it absolutely minimal and classy when it comes to accessories, only wearing his signatures rings with precious stones. Let's just say that Mr Bachchan knows how to play it cool without making it 'basic'. © Instagram Looking at his outfit, what we are marvelling at is the fact that this man, who is soon turning 76, is still consistently giving the youngsters in Bollywood a run for their money - be it in terms of movies or simply outfits. We bow down before you, Sir.
  6. The much awaited and much-hyped trailer of this year's magnum opus, 'Thugs Of Hindostan' is finally out. Before we begin dissecting it further, let's just have a great aesthetic view of it first. First things first, Aamir Khan is easily the Johnny Depp of Bollywood, if one is allowed to do draw an innocuous comparison. The man is called a perfectionist for a reason. His role in TOH has some eerie similarities to Depp's characters from 'Pirates Of The Carribean' and 'Alice In Wonderland', and from the trailer, it looks like Aamir has nailed his performance in a way that only he could. © YRF Coming to Big B, words fall short for this mitochondria of Bollywood, who can slip into any role like changing his clothes. He can be seen pulling off some pretty kick-ass action moves in the trailer, and at his age, he is clearly giving the mainstream actors a run for their money. © YRF The movie also stars Fatima Sana Shaikh and Katrina Kaif. For some reason, their appearances were kept short and crisp in the trailer, so we are guessing we'll have a better look once the next trailer is out. The movie is a YRF production, so nothing lacks in terms of cinematography and it is going to be a Diwali treat for every fan out there! 'Thugs Of Hindostan' will release in theatres on November 8th.
  7. 'Thugs Of Hindostan' – a movie we've been hearing about since last year but knew very little about. I don't know why everything was kept under wraps so much but as we all know, some looks of the actors – mainly Amitabh Bachchan and Aamir Khan – have been leaked before because what else do you expect from people? We're just a curious bunch and need to know everything. Every Aamir Khan movie is highly-anticipated one because he's one actor you can trust to only do exceptionally good movies and all the wait would totally be worth it. So, when the poster of this highly-awaited movie was finally unveiled yesterday, people obviously had a lot to say about it. View this post on Instagram à¤à¤° ठहà¥à¤ हम, फिरà¤à¤à¥ मलà¥à¤²à¤¾à¤¹. हम सॠà¤à¥à¤¯à¤¾à¤¦à¤¾ नà¥à¤ à¤à¤¨à¥à¤¸à¤¾à¤¨ à¤à¤¸ धरतॠपॠà¤à¤¹à¥à¤ नहà¥à¤ मिलà¥à¤à¤¾ à¤à¤ªà¤à¥. सà¤à¥à¤à¤¾à¤ तॠहमरा दà¥à¤¸à¤°à¤¾ नाम हà¥, à¤à¤° भरà¥à¤¸à¤¾ हमरा à¤à¤¾à¤®. दादॠà¤à¤¸à¤® !!! #ThugsOfHindostan | @yrf | @tohthefilm | @amitabhbachchan | @katrinakaif | @fatimasanashaikh A post shared by Aamir Khan (@_aamirkhan) on Sep 23, 2018 at 10:20pm PDT But, yesterday we also found out that being a great actor doesn't exempt you from some brutal trolling online and well, Aamir's look from the movie was dragged on Twitter. It's okay though, Aamir. This is how people on the internet show their love; the language of trolling is what unites everyone. I'm pretty sure Aamir would be happy to know that he didn't end up becoming a meme, he only got some comments about how his character 'Firangi' resembles the iconic Jack Sparrow from 'Pirates of the Caribbean'. That's not really a bad comparison, he could've gotten worse. So much resemblance with pirates of carribean — Lovely (@lovely9821) September 25, 2018 The most common thing being said.
