  1. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle say 'thank you' to Canada after holidayLONDON: Britain’s Prince Harry and his wife Meghan visited Canada House in London on Tuesday to thank the High Commissioner for the hospitality they received during their Christmas holiday. The royal couple met Canada’s High Commissioner to the UK, Janice Charette, and toured the Canada Gallery inside the Commission which is staging a special exhibition by indigenous artist, Skawennati. It was Harry and Meghan’s first public appearance of the year, after they took a six-week break to spend Christmas and the New Year with their 8-month-old son Archie in Canada. The couple stopped to talk to well-wishers waving Canadian flags, before entering the building. Harry and Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex last visited Canada House on Commonwealth Day in March 2019.

  4. That Diljit Dosanjh has a particular taste for the finer things in life should not come as a surprise. Just follow him on any given social media platform and you can see him flexing his style in the latest pair of Versace sneakers or an insane pair of Dior jeans. © Instagram/diljitdosanjh Clearly, the Do You Know hitmaker has an expensive taste and does not shy away from getting his hands on the latest stuff from high-end luxury brands. © Instagram/diljitdosanjh That being said, each of the pieces that he owns and flaunts on Instagram has a rather unique flair to it. Recently, he stepped out with a bag that, apart from having a really cool and hipster-like appeal, caught our attention because of its price tag. © Instagram/diljitdosanjh But first, let's get to his outfit. Diljit is wearing a rather cool and hip floral print sweatshirt and a black pair of adidas training sweats. With this, he has also paired one of the chunkiest pairs of white sneakers that we have seen this year from Nike. All in all, the outfit has a very dapper and hip-hop vibe to it, which sits really well with Diljit's image and the kind of groovy music that we get to hear from him regularly. © Instagram/diljitdosanjh However, the statement piece of the ensemble is not the rather kitschy sweatshirt of the sneakers. It has to be the backpack that he is carrying. © Instagram/diljitdosanjh Diljit is seen here with the Louis Vuitton Christopher Backpack. The backpack is really where things start getting interesting for us. © Instagram/diljitdosanjh Not only does the bag has a very Top Gun-esque aesthetic to it, with all its patches and straps and what not; it also has a vibe that just shouts wanderlust on Instagram. The bag, surprisingly, is not made using exotic materials, as opposed to what has become the norm. You won't find large chunks of specially treated leather or anything like that. Instead, you get a backpack that is mostly made of graphite canvas, and straps and trims made from bovine leather. © Instagram/diljitdosanjh The price of all this Louis Vuitton goodness? Well, it's a lot. The bag retails for about $2,800 or Rs. 2,01,000. That's assuming if you get your hands on the piece. Also, don't forget the custom duties and import taxes that will be levied on this. That should put the final sticker price around a ballpark of Rs. 2.5 lakh. © Instagram/diljitdosanjh For that much money, you can go on a 14-day trip to Hungary and still save money. And no, we are not considering a cheap backpack trip across Hungary. Browse wisely and play your cards right, and you can actually find a decent 3-star hotel to stay at. © Instagram/diljitdosanjh That's one heck of a way to roll. Really impressive Diljit. 7. The best time of the year has finally dawned upon us. The festive fervour is floating all around and it's officially the time for friends and families to plan those much-awaited weekend getaways! While planning a vacation, the best way to unwind is to visit a luxurious location with the perfect mix of culture and soul. The one city that is the epitome of all three things is Jaipur. The 'pink city' is the ideal destination where old-school-charm and modern novelties meet. For most of us who have already been to the city, our experiences have been limited to royal landmarks like the Hawa Mahal and Amber Fort. However, there's a lot more that the city of maharaja has to offer! Here's how you can turn your little getaway to Jaipur into a perfect vacation filled with luxury and culture- 1. Fly Above The City: What better way to experience the city than flying above it and enjoying some splendid views of the city. Take in Rajasthan from a unique point of view, flying over the glimmering pink city of Jaipur on a hot air balloon ride. It's an exhilarating way to experience India and get a different perspective of the country. There are two flights each day; one in the morning, one in the afternoon. So buckle up for this manificent luxury. 2. Elephants For the Win: If you want to side-step routine touristy activities and try something unique, this point is for you! Anchored by the conviction that an Elephant Sanctuary provides a critical foundation for breaking the cycle of elephant tourism in Jaipur, Elefantastic works for domesticated elephants of Jaipur with low-income, marginalised caretaker families to run a sanctuary, to provide welfare services and to raise awareness for Asian elephants. 3. A Palace In The Middle Of It All: With its unique setting in the middle of a lake and the attractive backdrop of the temple-dotted Aravalli hills, Jal Mahal is the perfect spot to sit with your loved one and watch a beautiful sunset. As you look across to the palace from the water's edge on your boat ride, try to count the number of stories. There are five in total, but during monsoon season, it often looks like the palace has only a single story, as the lower four levels are submerged beneath the water's surface. 4. The Perfect Mix Of Luxury And Culture: Nestled amidst the majestic Aravalli hills, with 245 rooms and suites elegantly appointed. Fairmont Jaipur is an ode to the pink city. With its awe-inspiring architecture and decor, inspired by the Mughal dynasty and Royal Rajput's of yore it reflects a perfect blend of traditional Rajasthani décor and modern amenities. The hotel takes each guest on an opulent journey through large verdant gardens, elegant lobby and beautifully designed rooms. It is a perfect location to spend a day at the luxury spa or have the royal wedding of your dream. It offers a scenic luxury getaway for the discerning traveller. Book your rooms here. 5. Relish Local Cuisine In Luxury: When in Jaipur, one can't miss out on authentic Rajasthani cuisine. We are talking about laal mass, atta raab, nalli nihari, and well, the options are endless. The authentic flavours of Rajasthan come to life at a restaurant called Zarin. This quaint and classy eatery at Fairmont Jaipur is the perfect blend of luxury and culture. With experienced chefs, local flavours and Insta-worthy interiors, Zarin should be on every tourists list! In addition to these 5 pink city must-dos, there's lots more that Jaipur offers. All that's left is for you to pack your bags and let the adventure begin!
  8. Cristiano Ronaldo is undoubtedly one of the greatest men to have ever kicked a football. With 5 Champions League trophies and 5 Ballon D'Or wins, he has established himself as one of the most decorated and successful players of his generation. However, an aspect of his journey that people tend to take for granted, is the incredible amount of work he puts in to keep himself fit and at the top of his game. This was highlighted particularly when Ronaldo, who has time-off in between his triumph with Portugal in the UEFA Nations League 2019 and the 2019-20 campaign with Juventus where they seek to win their 9th league title in a row, shared images of himself sweating it out in the gym. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Cristiano Ronaldo (@cristiano) on Jun 16, 2019 at 1:58am PDT While other players are photographed on holiday and taking genuine time off from the game, Ronaldo continues his quest for greatness and puts the work in to constantly improve himself. Even at 34 years of age, Ronaldo's work ethic continues to be inspirational for young footballers all over the world as he is essaying the drive and hunger that is required from a champion athlete, to achieve even half of what he has achieved in the game. After Euro 2016 triumph and the recent Nations League win with Portugal, three back-to-back champions league titles with Real Madrid and a league title with Juventus in his first season, Ronaldo continues to maintain an elite level and continues to be one of the best (if not the best) players in the world. After all that he has achieved in the game, to continue to have the hunger to achieve more, win more and improve as a footballer shows the winning mentality of Ronaldo that is often on display even on the biggest stage. He will undoubtedly go down as one of the greatest footballers of all time and he continues to show why.
  9. We all know of the lavish lifestyle lived by one of the most famed boxers ever, Mike Tyson. It's definitely a lot different than what it used to be in his boxing heydays. In 2016, Tyson set up his own company called Tyson Holistic Holdings, which sells all types of cannabis-based products and merchandise. But now, the retired heavyweight champion is focusing all his efforts on a new project, which is a 407-acre marijuana holiday resort in Southern California. © Pintrest The resort will definitely be home to a lot of attractions like a huge lazy river, and the 'Kind Music Festival', which Tyson and his partner Rob Hickman describe as 'the Lollapalooza Cannabis'. Although Tyson's ranch isn't completely built yet, the festival took place on February 2019 and did magnificently well. The festival gave people a chance to listen to some good live music, smoke some marijuana and learn about the health benefits of cannabis. The ranch, whose construction is underway, aims at accommodating the growing cannabis tourism industry with a hotel and 200 'glamping' units. © Tyson Ranch "I thought about how much good I could do by helping people with cannabis. It was a no-brainer. I've been fighting for over 20 years, and my body has a lot of wear and tear. I had two surgeries and I used marijuana to calm my nerves, and it would take the pain away... But before, they had me on those opiates, and those opiates had me all screwed up." said Tyson in an interview with an international publication. Apart from the festival and hosting cannabis tourism, the resort will also focus on imparting knowledge on the health benefits of the drug and how it can be used for health purposes, to cure many ailments and diseases. "He's building a holistic centre for health and wellness. There will be testing in the university. It's going to be about educating people on the healing benefits, how to grow, and how to be in proper business." said Tyson's business partner, Rob Hickman in an interview with an international publication. © Kind Music Festival While marijuana or pot is used a lot recreationally, it has a lot of health benefits which we aren't aware of. Mostly, people, and by people I mean authorities, think it's used to get 'high' but medical marijuana has been used a lot in the past to cure a lot of physiological issues, sometimes even cancer. Hemp oils are extensively used in cancer research. But unfortunately, in India, which is one of the biggest exporters of Hashish, the use of this drug is banned all over, even medically. What Mike Tyson has established is a clean and healthy way to promote something that can be used recreationally and as a health benefit, without causing any harm to the user and we hope we can legalize the drug here, at least medically, so people can benefit from it from time to time.

  12. Vitamin Sea should be accompanied by Vitamin D(enim). For the rare instances when Goa plans actually materialize, one major hurdle that everyone faces but chooses not to discuss is 'what to wear to the beach'. Bollywood movies and fashion magazines can only be of so much help, and most of their pearls of wisdom are as outdated as an unfortunate pile of dried up oyster. Seriously, Hawaii shirts and ill-fitting baggy shorts in shocking colours? Those, my friend, need to go. It's time to update your beachwear, and the replacement is lying in your wardrobe right now. Meet Anand - an established model and our beachwear specialist, who has agreed to share his tried and tested inputs with us on how you can use your basic pair of jeans as super sophisticated, trendy beachwear. ©MensXP/Anubhav Sood Anand believes in the power of minimalism. He holds no biases against the ever-increasing supremacy of maximalism in fashion, but believes that beach certainly is not the place to indulge in that, unless of course, your only aim is a photoshoot. For someone who is going to the beach to catch a break (and it's safe to say that's literally everyone), the only goal should be to relax, and not get caught up in a frustrating bout of last minute shopping that usually anyway consists of a heap of unbridled kitsch, which later will be met with abject guilt and criticism once the vacay pictures are being edited for Instagram. So why even get involved in that? Anand's fix is simple, and it consists of your favourite pairs of jeans and half an hour of your time. ©MensXP/Anubhav Sood Follow these super simple steps to be beach-ready: 1. Get all your favourite pairs of jeans out and lay them down for inspection. 2. Discard the extremely baggy as well as the extremely skinny ones. Pick the ones that are well-fitting, yet allow you movement. You're going to run around, right? 3. We all have old pairs that we have decided to discard. Those, my friend, are your best friends for a beach vacation. Get them out. Take a pair of scissors, and get to altering the length. Stick to a length that ends just above the ankle for that super casual, yet playful vibe. Frayed ends are bae, and you can make the effect more prominent by pulling threads out. 4. In case you're feeling extremely adventurous and want to make them look wilder, be fearless and cut in knee rips. For those of you who know the art of ripping jeans, it should be a cakewalk. ©MensXP/Anubhav Sood Now, about what to pair them with. The safest bets are florals and printed t-shirts and shirts, in muted shades. You want to stand out? Go for the lime yellow or the candy orange - no judgements. Just make sure the fit is relaxed and the fabric moves when the wind hits you. You should feel like you're on a beach, shouldn't you? For those of you who have been working out, this is the time to reward yourselves and forget about it. Go flaunt those cuts. It's your time to shine. ©MensXP/Anubhav Sood Book those tickets already, because you are now ready to rock a beach vacation that is - in the words of Sofia Vergara and Katy Perry - 'easy, breezy, beautiful'. '31 Days Of Denim' is a social experiment of sorts, or in layman terms, the ultimate Denim guide, on how to inject your personality, and inherent sense of self into, say, a basic-ass pair of jeans. Bonus: It features the finest men in the capital, all with very distinct style sensibilities, but primarily, each having an innate love for all things denim. 14. The film?s estimated three-day gross of $192 million is the highest debut ever for a February film and the fifth highest of all time LOS ANGELES: Disney-Marvel?s ?Black Panther? is heading for a super-heroic $218 million debut over the four-day President?s Day weekend at 4,020 North American locations, estimates showed Sunday. That number means that ?Black Panther,? starring Chadwick Boseman and directed by Ryan Coogler, has doubled its original tracking in less than a month. The film, which carries an estimated $200 million production cost, had been tracking to bring in between an impressive $100 and $120 million when first estimates emerged on Jan. 25. Since then, ?Black Panther? has become a must-see movie for many moviegoers, underlined when Thursday previews brought in $25.2 million, the largest Thursday night preview gross for a February opener and the second-largest preview gross for a Marvel film. The film?s estimated three-day gross of $192 million is the highest debut ever for a February film and the fifth highest of all time. Combined with an estimated international debut of $169 million from 69 percent of the international market, the estimated global debut stands at $361 million through Sunday. ?Black Panther? has demolished the record for the largest Presidents Day weekend, blowing past ?Deadpool?s? 2016 mark of $152 million. Overall North American moviegoing for the four-day period should hit $300 million -- far above the $278 million mark in 2016, according to comScore. ?This is proof that the big screen experience may arguably be the most powerful platform of change in our society,? said Paul Dergarabedian,? senior media analyst with comScore. ?The emotional, communal, immersive and bigger than life theatrical experience has an impact that virtually no other medium can match.? Comscore?s PostTrak survey of the audience showed outstanding numbers with 77 percent rating ?Black Panther? as ?excellent? and another 18 percent as ?very good.? Boseman portrays King T?Challa, ruler of Wakanda, a technologically advanced society, who conflicts with Michael B. Jordan?s Eric Killmonger, who intends to take over the throne. Letitia Wright, Lupita Nyong?o, Angela Bassett, Danai Gurira, and Daniel Kaluuya also star. It?s received an A+ CinemaScore, the only Marvel film to have done so besides 2012?s ?The Avengers.? A group of women pose for a photo in front of a poster advertising the film "Black Panther" on its opening night of screenings at the AMC Magic Johnson Harlem 9 cinemas in Manhattan Sony?s second weekend of ?Peter Rabbit? should bring in $22.5 million from 3,275 domestic locations for the four-day weekend, yielding an 11-day domestic total of $53 million. The film stars the voice of James Corden as the titular rabbit, along with Margot Robbie, Elizabeth Debicki, and Daisy Ridley as Peter?s sisters. Domhnall Gleeson stars as the heir to Mr. McGregor?s property, with Rose Byrne as the kindly neighbor Bea. The second weekend of Universal?s ?Fifty Shades Freed? follows in third with $18 million from 3,768 locations for the Friday through Monday period. The erotic romance stars Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson as Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele -- now Mrs. Grey. Its Friday through Sunday total ($16 million) marks a 57 percent decline from its opening weekend. The film has earned $161 million worldwide in its first eight days. Sony?s ninth weekend of its durable action-comedy ?Jumanji: Welcome to Jungle? finished fourth with $10 million at 2,800 venues. The 62-day domestic total will hit almost $380 million, just behind 2005?s ?Star Wars: Episode III -- Revenge of the Sith? for 32nd spot on the all-time list. Clint Eastwood?s second weekend of the thriller ?The 15:17 to Paris? is set to take fifth, with $9.1 million from 3,042 locations for Warner Bros. The movie, starring the three men who stopped an attempted 2015 terrorist attack on a European train, is projected to have grossed nearly $27 million domestically in 11 days. Fox?s ninth weekend of ?The Greatest Showman? continued to show remarkable traction in sixth with a projected $6.3 million at 1,936 locations, which will lift the 62-day total to $155 million for the Hugh Jackman musical. Nick Park?s ?Early Man? opened softly this weekend in the U.S. in the seventh slot with $4.2 million from 2,494 North American locations. The British film, which is being distributed in the United States via Lionsgate, utilizes the voice talents of Tom Hiddleston, Timothy Spall, Eddie Redmayne, and Maisie Williams.
  15. ISTANBUL: Eleven people were killed on Saturday and 46 injured when a Turkish intercity bus taking families bound for a half-term skiing trip crashed into trees while travelling on a motorway, local officials said. The bus, which was making an overnight journey from the capital Ankara to the western city of Bursa, crashed in the region of Eskisehir amid good road conditions, Eskisehir governor Ozdemir Cakacak was quoted as saying by the Dogan news agency. The road was empty and neither wet nor frozen, Cakacak said, vowing that the causes would be made clear. Dogan reported that the passengers on the bus were mainly families with their children who were going to Bursa to spend the upcoming half-term at the popular Uludag ski resort. It said the passengers were on a special all-inclusive promotion offered by the bus company to spend the week at the ski resort before returning to Ankara. The news agency did not say if any children were among those killed. Identification of the bodies was in progress. The two drivers, who were both lightly injured, have been detained and prosecutors launched an investigation, Dogan said. The driver who was at the wheel at the time of the crash, has denied any wrongdoing. "I saw a dark shape which I thought was a dog," Dogan quoted him as saying. "I went to the right but the bus went out of control and hit a tree... I was not going fast, I was not sleeping, it was a matter of an instant," the man added. Turkey has a dire road safety record with over a million accidents in 2016 and 7,300 people losing their lives, according to official statistics.

  17. Benazir Bhutto, twice elected as the prime minister of Pakistan, was assassinated on December 27, 2007, as she returned after addressing a mammoth rally at Rawalpindi's Liaquat Bagh. ? FILE KARACHI: The provincial government of Sindh has announced a public holiday on Wednesday on account of 10th death anniversary of former prime minister Benazir Bhutto. Benazir, twice elected as the prime minister of Pakistan, was assassinated on December 27, 2007, as she returned after addressing a mammoth rally at Rawalpindi's Liaquat Bagh. Gunshots were heard, followed by a suicide blast at the venue, which left the former premier among nearly two dozen others dead. The PPP has been commemorating the 10th death anniversary of its late leader, regarding which it has organised a central ceremony in Bhutto's ancestral village Garhi Khuda Bakhsh in Larkana district of Sindh. All preparations have been finalised for the events marking the death anniversary, while caravans of party workers have been en route to Larkana to pay their respects to their late leader. A meeting of the PPP central executive council is scheduled for today at the Naudero House in Larkana, for which key party members have already arrived in Larkana. PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari will jointly preside over the meeting. The anniversary observances will start with a 'Mushaira' at 1 pm, followed by a condolence rally at 4 pm on Wednesday. The rally would be addressed by Zardari and Bilawal. Speaking to media earlier at the Sukkur airport, Sherry Rehman said Benazir Bhutto laid her life like a soldier. She criticised the incumbent government in the centre for pushing the country under huge debts, adding that only the PPP has the narrative of development. Former interior minister Rehman Malik demanded the Afghan president to hand over the suspect involved in Bhutto's assassination. Latif Khosa said the PPP, despite having given sacrifices, raised the slogan of 'Pakistan khappay'. Security arrangements Stern security arrangements have been made to ensure security of participants during the events of Bhutto's death anniversary. More than 7000 personnel of Rangers and police will perform security duty, whereas additional personnel of traffic police would be deployed to maintain the flow of traffic. All those arriving to attend the rally will have to pass through the walk-through gates and would only be allowed to enter the venue after body search. Over 60 CCTV cameras have also been installed in Garhi Khuda Bakhsh to monitor the events.
  18. On December 27, 2007, Benazir was assassinated during a public gathering at Rawalpindi's Liaquat Bagh.
  19. Nothing makes us happier than spending time with friends and family during the holidays. We wish vacation time came more often and made our lives easier and less tiresome. REUTERS/Todd Korol/Files LONDON/NEW YORK: Oil prices rose in light volumes on Friday, steadying near their highest levels since 2015 on pledges from OPEC leader Saudi Arabia and non-OPEC Russia that any exit from crude output cuts would be gradual. Brent crude futures, the international benchmark for oil prices, ended the session up 35 cents at $65.25 a barrel, its highest close since June 2015. US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude futures settled 11 cents higher at $58.47 a barrel. WTI has also been touching values not seen since mid-2015 over the past two months. Both contracts settled one hour early due to the upcoming Christmas holiday. Market liquidity was also drying up on Friday as traders closed positions ahead of the Christmas and New Year breaks. About 280,000 front-month US crude futures changed hands while front-month Brent crude futures saw the lowest trade volumes in about seven months, excluding expiration days. ?I think the market is looking balanced overall but think the risk remains to the upside in Brent spreads due to continued price appreciation,? said Scott Shelton, a broker at ICAP in Durham, North Carolina. ?Traders who are flat and waiting for a dip will come in on the first trading day of the month in January in 2018 with a fresh P&L wondering if $60 WTI and $66 Brent are buys or not.? Oil prices have recovered in the past year on the back of oil production cuts by OPEC, Russia and other producers, helping reduce the global inventory overhang. Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak told Reuters OPEC and Russia would exit cuts smoothly, possibly extending curbs in some form to avoid creating any new surplus. ?There is a consensus among the (oil) ministers that we should avoid oversupply on the market when exiting the deal,? Novak said, comments that will calm investor worries that Moscow wants a speedy exit. Saudi Energy Minister Khalid al-Falih said it was premature to discuss changes to the pact on supply cuts as market rebalancing was unlikely to happen until the second half of 2018. The OPEC-led pact to withhold supplies started in January this year. The producer group and its allies last month extended the agreement until the end of next year. The supply restraint has reduced oil inventories and helped push up Brent by more than 45 percent since June this year. ?OPEC?s extension of its production cuts through the end of 2018 is a necessary condition for continued inventory drawdown,? US investment bank Jefferies said, raising its 2018 Brent forecast to $63 from $57, and its WTI forecast to $59 from $54. Novak said some pressure on prices was possible in the first quarter of 2018 when demand traditionally declines and added he saw prices hovering at around $50 to $60 in 2018. Analysts said crude output in the United States C-OUT-T-EIA, fast approaching 10 million BPD, would be a drag on prices in the longer term. ?Supply is expected to grow further, paving the way to an oversupplied market, which can again exercise downward pressure on oil prices,? consultancy Rystad Energy said. Novak said he expected US oil output to grow by 0.6 million BPD in 2018 but added that rising US demand should help offset an increase.

  22. CHICAGO: Eight people were killed and dozens injured in Chicago in the US city's second most violent Thanksgiving holiday weekend in recent years as it continues to struggle with gun violence. Forty-four people were shot during the period from Wednesday afternoon to early Monday, according to statistics maintained by the Chicago Tribune. That is fewer than the 70 shot during the same holiday period last year but higher than the totals of recent years - 28 in 2015 and 19 in 2014 - when violent crime in Chicago and the rest of the US was trending down. The de facto Midwestern capital has grappled with an alarming rise in gun-related murders, many of them tied to gang and drug activity, with 2016 setting a record for the past decade. Shootings in the third-largest US city have far outpaced those in its two bigger rivals, New York and Los Angeles. But steps taken by authorities appear to have reduced the bloodshed from record levels. While 621 people have been killed so far this year in Chicago, that is 100 fewer than at the same point last year, according to the Tribune. President Donald Trump has repeatedly singled out the violence in Chicago and accused local leaders of failing to contain it. Earlier this year, federal authorities deployed additional law enforcement officers to work with local police. The city has also been bolstering police recruitment and expanding the use of gunshot detection devices and data-driven crime prediction technologies to help police respond more quickly to crimes. The city claims the predictive technologies have helped reduce shootings 23 percent in areas where they have been implemented. Nationwide, violent crime increased in 2016 for the second consecutive year, with murders up 8.6 percent, according to Federal Bureau of Investigation statistics.
  23. LOS ANGELES: Disney-Pixar?s ?Coco? handily won the Thanksgiving holiday box office over the second weekend of Warner Bros.-DC Entertainment?s ?Justice League,? with $71.2 million at 3,987 North American sites during the Wednesday-Sunday period. ?Justice League? pulled in $60 million at 4,051 locations during the same timeframe. The superhero action-adventure, the fifth in the DC Extended Universe, has totaled $172 million in its first 10 days. ?Coco? posted for the third-best Thanksgiving holiday opening ever, trailing three other Disney titles -- ?Frozen? with $93 million in 2013, ?Moana? with $82 million in 2017 and ?Toy Story 3? with $80 million in 2010. Audiences surveyed by comScore?s PostTrak gave ?Coco? strong ratings with 66% calling it ?excellent,? and another 23% rating it ?very good.? Surveys also showed 77% of viewers saying they would ?definitely recommend? the movie to friends and 20% saying they would watch it again in a theater. ?Coco,? directed by Lee Unkrich and co-directed by Adrian Molina, is based on the traditions surrounding the Day of the Dead holiday in Mexico and centers on a 12-year-old boy who dreams of becoming a musician and explores his family history in the Land of the Dead. The studio has not released a price for the movie. Disney-Pixar titles are usually budgeted in the $175 million to $200 million range. ?Justice League,? which teams up the DC characters in the same manner as Disney-Marvel?s superheroes, is already in the top 15 of titles released in 2017 and has opened with a B+ CinemaScore. It?s been the lowest performer among the DC Extended Universe. ?Wonder Woman? grossed $206.3 million in its first 10 days in June and ?Suicide Squad? took in $222.6 million in its first 10 days in August 2016. Gal Gadot stars as Wonder Woman along with Ben Affleck as Batman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Ezra Miller as the Flash, and Ray Fisher as Cyborg as the superheroes team up to save the world. Warner Bros. has not disclosed the production cost, which is believed to be as much as $300 million. Lionsgate?s family drama ?Wonder? continued to show impressive traction in third place with about $32 million at 3,140 locations for a 10-day total of more than $69 million. The film, which stars Jacob Tremblay as a fifth grader with a facial deformity, has a modest $20 million budget. Disney-Marvel?s ?Thor: Ragnarok? finished fourth with about $24 million at 3,281 sites, lifting its 24-day domestic total to $277 million. It?s topped ?Despicable Me 3? as the sixth-highest grosser of 2017. Fox?s ?Murder on the Orient Express? and Paramount?s ?Daddy?s Home 2? tied for fifth over the five days, both with $18.6 million. ?Orient Express? has totaled $74.2 million domestically in its first 17 days while ?Daddy?s Home 2? has earned $72.7 million in the same period. Sony Classics saw stellar returns from its platform release of coming-of-age drama ?Call Me by Your Name? with $404,874 at four venues in Los Angeles and New York since its Friday launch for an impressive per-screen average of $101,219. That?s the best limited opening of 2017, topping the ?Lady Bird? launch with $364,437 on four screens, and the highest since ?La La Land? opened with $881,104 at five venues last December. Focus Features? ?Darkest Hour,? starring Oldman as Winston Churchill, opened strongly with a $248,000 at four theaters for the five days. The well-reviewed film -- which centers on Chruchill?s early days as prime minister in 1940 with a possible Nazi invasion of Britain looming -- is playing at the Arclight and Landmark in Los Angeles and the Union Square and Lincoln Plaza in New York City. The holiday weekend is one of the busiest moviegoing periods of the year. According to comScore, this year?s five-day Thanksgiving weekend saw total grosses his $268 million -- $7.5 million better than last year?s when ?Moana? opened with $82 million, and ?Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them? taking in $65 million in its second weekend.

  25. PANAMA CITY: Panama president Juan Carlos Varela has declared a national holiday in celebration at the central American country´s first ever qualification for the World Cup. "It´s a historic day for the country. [Thursday] will be a national holiday for public and private sector workers," Varela said on Twitter on Wednesday. Panama came from behind to beat Costa Rica 2-1 on Tuesday and book a ticket to Russia 2018. The victory left them third in the CONCACAF area qualification behind Mexico and Costa Rica, and sensationally helped knock the United States out of contention. Thousands of Panamanians celebrated long into the night in the capital Panama City as a cacophony of car horns greeted the historic news. "Today the planets aligned, you must never lose faith," Varela had said on the Estadio Rommel Fernandez pitch in the capital following the match. Although not Panama´s national game, football is rapidly catching up with baseball and boxing as the country´s favourite sport.
