“Sexuality shouldn't define anyone. It doesn't define me. Love should be at the core of what you do.” - Jessie J (Singer/Songwriter) When I came out as bisexual in 2015, I was lucky enough to be surrounded by friends & family that understood and supported my decision. But, many are not so fortunate. We hear stories about parents rejecting their kids, queerphobic messages on social media that hamper our mental health and just a fear of being cast off by society. Even though we are all moving towards creating a more inclusive and accepting world, every member of the LGBTQIA+ community faces some stereotype or other on a daily basis. © A Little Late With Lilly Singh I was subjected to my fair share of creepy, indecent and crass remarks as a bisexual on dating apps. Yes, you read that right, even people our age who are supposed to be “woke” and “inclusive” have no understanding of how to speak to an out and proud queer individual. So, grab your notebook and take note of things that no bisexual wants to hear: 1. “Threesome?”This is a patent question that I get asked on every dating app that I have ever used. As soon as my match finds out that I am bisexual the only thing that they are interested in knowing is whether I have in the past or would be open to having a threesome in the future. © Instagram/ Pritish Nandy Communications My sexuality is not a way for you to live out your sexual fantasy! 2. “I Can’t Even Imagine Being With A Man”Okay? So, don’t. Me being bisexual is not an indication for every straight man to walk the same road but it is definitely time to learn what not to say! Finding other men attractive does not make you gay, complementing their outfit does not make you gay, having a fashion sense does not make you gay similarly matching with an LGBTQIA+ member is not an opening for you to showcase how straight you are. __ECOMPRODUCT__1800__ 3. “Your Oral Skills Must Be Through The Roof”Whenever I hear this statement, it makes me want to delete the app and give up on mankind. It is crass, cheap, in poor taste and just unsophisticated to make this statement. MensXP Me being bisexual is not about my sexual skills and it is statements like these that will make every straight & bisexual woman cringe and unmatch. 4. “Are You Sure You Are Not A Lesbian?”If I had a rupee for every time someone asked me this question, I would 100% be a millionaire. What people fail to understand is that bisexuality is not a pit stop towards becoming a lesbian. There are many people who are curious about being with the same *** and while that is absolutely okay, it is important to remember that Bisexuality & Bi-curiosity are two different things. __ECOMPRODUCT__1801__ 5. “Bisexuality Is Not A Real Thing”This is the statement that makes every other line seem insignificant. Whether you are gay, lesbian, trans, asexual or a part of the LGBTQIA+ community in any other way, you have heard this statement in some form or other. © Instagram/ Happiest Season I can choose to love both men & women, I can choose to build a relationship in the way I see fit. Bisexuality is real because it is what I feel! To Wrap It UpIt is 2021 and the time to fix our mindset towards the members of the LGBTQIA+ community is long past gone. This Pride Month, we need to start listening to our queer friends and family members, we need to fight for their right to love and most importantly we need to educate ourselves so that every one of us can be a true ally to this community. Sources say Abid Malhi and Shafqat Ali were presented before the victim in line with at least ten other suspects -
Social media is known to have given many a people sleepless nights by turning them into objects of ridicule and laughter, and this time, it seems to have come calling for our very own Anushka Sharma. After the memes featuring an image from her upcoming release 'Sui Dhaaga' seemed to have cooled down just a bit, fresh controversy seems to have caught on to her. Recently, YouTube sensation Marques Brownlee, who happens to be a very popular tech blogger, noticed that Anushka apparently used an iPhone to promote Google's Pixel 2XL on Twitter and he could not hold himself back from sharing the anomaly with his followers, claiming that the situation was “hilarious”. Here's the tweet Anushka posted: Look at this beautiful boy ððð#Pixel2XL #TeamPixel @GoogleIndia pic.twitter.com/2cVcRnUGG3 — Anushka Sharma (@AnushkaSharma) September 4, 2018 We can see that in the post Anushka has tagged Google India and used the hashtags #TeamPixel and #Pixel2XL. However, what she didn't intend to do happened on its own accord when the tweet tagged itself as “Twitter via iPhone” and Brownlee found that really amusing: Ok I don't even want to know how this keeps happening but it's hilarious pic.twitter.com/sUuHVh4exw — Marques Brownlee (@MKBHD) September 4, 2018 Twitterati is laughing at this goof-up and we totally understand why: Lmao 𤣠pic.twitter.com/pLDvLxT6fN — mohit nagda (@mohit61058811) September 4, 2018 pic.twitter.com/OMtgdXwmHn — UMESH (@042_umesh) September 4, 2018 She's talking bout you, Marques.... pic.twitter.com/Dz4ZdWbi2T — Huzaifa Jafferji (@Hhj9521) September 4, 2018 Lemme tell you in advance this tweet of yours is gonna boom up in India. Just watch — Bhuwan (@Bhuwansarcastic) September 4, 2018 Prepare to be blocked again — Kyle (@Techgeek171) September 4, 2018 This happens to be Brownlee's second go at a celebrity, the first being Gal Gadot: Gal Gadot with the Huawei ad... tweeted from an iPhone. Spain identifies 800 British tourists suspected of making fake sickness claims

MADRID: The Spanish police said Friday they had identified around 800 British tourists suspected of having made fake food poisoning claims after going on holiday in the Balearic Islands to try to win compensation. Police have listed 77 law firms allegedly used by the tourists to file their complaints as part of their investigation, a statement read. The law firms "orchestrated a possible criminal network based on fake claims that have generated significant economic damage to the Balearic and Spanish tourism sector," it added. The Balearic Islands, including Ibiza, Mallorca and Menorca, saw a 700% rise in sickness claims from January 2016 until the end of September, with the overall cost of the claims worth four million pounds (4.5 million euros), police said. Police said the problem of fake food poisoning claims was also affecting Spain?s Canary Islands and the Levante region on the eastern Mediterranean coast, which includes the resort of Benidorm, popular with British tourists. Hotels complain that British claims management companies openly tout for business in Spanish resorts, promising not to charge any fees if no eventual damages are paid out. An ambulance emblazoned with the words "Claims Clinic" was last year pictured driving around Tenerife on Spain?s Canary Islands, where more than one in three tourists is British. Spanish tourism officials say the problem has arisen because British consumer law does not require claimants to produce any medical evidence of illness, and claims can be filed up to three years after a stay at a hotel. Spain has stepped up its cooperation with Britain to halt the flood of fake claims, which led British Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson to say earlier this year that the digestive "systems of British people" had "become the most delicate in the world". The number of British tourists visiting Spain jumped by over 12% in 2016 to hit a record 17.8 million. -
Europe's Galileo satnav identifies problems behind failing clocks

Investigators have uncovered the problems behind the failure of atomic clocks onboard satellites belonging to the beleaguered Galileo satnav system, the European Commission said on Monday. For months, the European Space Agency -- which runs the programme -- has been investigating the reasons behind failing clocks onboard some of the 18 navigation satellites it has launched for Galileo, Europe's alternative to America's GPS system. Each Galileo satellite has four ultra-accurate atomic timekeepers, two that use rubidium and two hydrogen maser. But a satellite needs just one working clock for the satnav to work -- the rest are spares. Three rubidium and six hydrogen maser clocks were not working, with one satellite sporting two failed timekeepers. "The main causes of the malfunctions have been identified and measures have been put in place to reduce the possibility of further malfunctions of the satellites already in space," commission spokeswoman Lucia Caudet said. ESA found after an investigation that its rubidium clocks had a faulty component that could cause a short circuit, according to European sources. The investigation also found that operations involving hydrogen maser clocks need to be controlled and closely monitored, the same sources said. The agency has taken measures to correct both sets of problems, the sources added, with the agency set to replace the faulty component in rubidium clocks on satellites not yet in orbit and improve hydrogen maser clocks as well. "The supply of the first Galileo services has not and will not be affected by the malfunctioning of the atomic clocks or by other corrective measures," Caudet said, and that the malfunctions have not affected service performance. 'Most accurate clocks ever' The Galileo system went live in December last year, providing initial services with a weak signal, having taken 17 years at more than triple the original budget. The civilian-controlled service is seen as strategically important for Europe, which relies on two military-run rivals -- GPS and Russia's GLONASS. ESA boasts that Galileo has the most accurate atomic clocks ever used for geolocalisation. Similar to traditional clocks relying on the tick of a pendulum, atomic timekeepers also count regular oscillations, in this case switches between energy states of atoms stimulated by heat or light. But Galileo has experienced many setbacks, including the placement of two satellites in the wrong orbit. In January, ESA director general Jan Woerner announced that the system had suffered a setback with its atomic clocks. The EU Commission expects Galileo to be fully operational by 2020. ESA signed a contract in late June with a German-British consortium to build eight more satellites for Galileo, which will eventually comprise 30 orbiters. Twenty-four will be operational, in three orbital planes, with the rest standing by as spares, in orbit and on the ground. Once fully deployed, Galileo aims to pinpoint a location on Earth to within a metre -- compared to several metres for GPS and GLONASS. Clients of a paying service will be able to receive even more accurate readings -- down to centimetres. Such accuracy will be very useful in search-and-rescue operations. All new cars sold in Europe by 2018 will be fitted with Galileo for navigation and emergency calls. Its high-precision clocks will also boost synchronisation of banking and financial transaction, telecommunications and energy smart-grids, making them more efficient. It should also boost the safety of driverless cars.
